Chapter 1
The sun was bearly rising above the horizon. Beaming it's cooling, fresh light upon the slumbering land. Dew drops hung heavy on the emerald green fields. Gently splashing to the moist ground. Birds were still asleep in their nests, keeping their young ones close. Everything was so still in this great land. With hardly anyone awake. Only a small hoof-ful, who were grumpily preparing for their work in the day.
The grand bustling towns and cities stayed silent. Not even a bird sang, or a hoof clopped in the large cities. Leaving a eerie feeling as the light mist began to clear.
Dainty, white clouds drifted in the crisp sky. Eagerly awaiting for pegasi to take them away around the land. They gently bounced around in the quiet breeze. A large silhouette of a castle lay over the enormous city.
However, as every single creature slept, waiting to rise for the coming day, one pony was awake. One small filly.
~~~
The short, young filly was a light violet. With beautiful, curly white locks, tied up into two pig tails, that bounced beside her head as she struggled to clamber onto a light blue bed. Her icy purple wings fluttering madly.
She huffed as she finally climbed up, and grinned. She began to shake the pony in the bed. Who was curled up into her covers.
"Snowea. Psst. Snowea! Psst." The little filly whispered, trying to wake her sister. But the filly in the bed did not stir. The light violet filly began to bounce on the blue bed.
"Wake up. Wake up. Wake up." She squeaked shaking the filly under the covers.
"Go back to sleep, Glacy." The older filly mumbled. Her tufts of ruffled ice blue near to white hair covering her cyan blue face.
Glacier threw herself onto her older sister's side. Staring up at the ceiling of cloud.
"I can't." She complained. "The sky's awake. So I'm awake. So we have to play." She raised her tiny hoof to her forehead as she spoke dramatically. But her older sister grumbled, and rolled over. Pushing Glacier off the bed.
"Go and play by yourself." Snowea muttered. Burying her face into the pillow. Glacier huffed again as she fell to the floor. She was so glad that the floor was made out of fluffy cloud. She sat their and sighed in defeat, until an idea suddenly came into her head.
Quickly, she dragged herself onto the bed again, opening her sister's eyelid with her hoof.
"Do you want to build a snowmare?" She asked with a smirk. The filly beneath her smiled. Gazing at her bright blue eyes, matching her own.
~~~~~~
"Rainbow? Hello? Rainbow Dash, dear?" A prim and prissy unicorn called quietly. Waving her hoof in front the frozen mare.
The cyan pegasus stared straight ahead, not blinking or reacting to anything before her.
Three mares stared at her in concern.
"Rarity, I think you broke her." The violet alicorn whispered to her unicorn friend, who nervously smiled.
The four mares were sitting around a table in a small cafe. A pot of red flowers were placed in the middle of the table. The fashionista of Ponyville thought to buy her friends lunch. Especially after they helped her with a couple of her orders. However, two of her friends had to bail out. One due to a large amount of ill animals that needed tending to, and the other was on her shift at the town's famous bakery. But the apple farmer's chores and work was done, the princess had no duties and the pegasi had no schedule for the week.
"Don' worry. Ah know wha ta do." The apple mare smirked as she grabbed the cyan mare's wing. She yanked at the strong, pegasus wing and pulled out several of her feathers. Making the pegasus gasp in pain and punch the amber mare.
Twilight and Rarity stared, wide eyed, at the pegasus who blinked a couple of times as she returned back.
She glanced at the mare beside her, who was holding her bloody snout.
"Ohmygosh! I'm so sorry, Applejack! I didn't mean to! It's a reflex. I don't think about it. It just happens. I'm sorry, please forgive me." The rainbow maned mare frantically begged.
Applejack waved her other hoof as her nose stopped bleeding.
"Ah'm fine. Ah'm fine." The orange earth pony sat up again, beginning to wipe the remaining blood under her snout. The others winced as they saw the large amount of blood, staining the mare's nose and hooves.
"I'm so sorry." Rainbow apologised again.
"Ah'm fine, Rainbow. Ah've had worse." Applejack lightly chuckled. "But Rainbow, ya pack quite a punch."
"You ripped out my feathers. My primaries. Of course I'll hit you hard." Rainbow's wing twitched as it remained in shock from the sudden amount of pain. "Owie." She muttered as she rubbed her wing.
"Ah'm sorry. Ah should have thought of somethin else. But ya jast froze. Like water inta ice."
"I did?" Rainbow titled her head. Her concentration wavering off everywhere. Usually she was so concentrated. Why did she start daydreaming?
"Yes, you did." Twilight explained. "Rarity asked you a question and you just tuned off."
"I say, Rainbow Dash. You never seem to just 'tune off'." Rarity snorted. "I simply asked you about that gorgeous necklace of yours. I've seen anything like it." The unicorn pointed at the sparkling charm around the speedster's neck.
It was a clear crystal snowflake, that when it glimmered in the sun, it glowed like the Aurora Borealis. Blues, purples and pinks shone off the crystal, making the three mares stare in complete awe.
"You aren't really the type of pony to wear trinkets. Especially something as fabulous as this." Rarity hovered the necklace, undoing the clasp and bringing it towards herself. Rainbow Dash gasped quietly as pushed something away inside her mind.
"Conceal it, don't feel it. Remember what father said." She thought to herself as she uneasily smiled at her friends, as they gazed at the beautiful charm.
"Yes, well, I usually keep it in my mane. Tucked away. Out of sight, out of mind." She said nervously. She suddenly felt a tingle in her front hooves, a cold tingle. Her mind swirled in to utter panic as her body temperature began to drop.
"Just don't touch anything. Tuck your hooves away." The cyan mare smiled and placed her hooves around her cup.
"This is just amazing, Rainbow. Where in Equestria did you get it?" Twilight asked, her violet orbs stuck on the shining charm.
"Err...My errr...father made it...it was a....umm..birthday...present..." She lied. Well, most of it was true. Her father indeed make it, but it wasn't a birthday gift. It was something more magical.
"He must love you dearly to make something beautiful like this."
"He does, well he did."
"Wha's tha, sugarcube?" Applejack questioned, turning towards her winged friend.
"He's dead. And so's my mother. They died at sea." Rainbow explained. Glancing at the the frost that was beginning to cover the cup.
"No. Not now. Any time but now. Why is this even happening now? They've been dead for three years now. Stop panicking."
"Oh, sorry, darlin'. Ah didn' know." Applejack apologised.
"Nah, it's fine. It's been three years. They were close....but...I'm over it." Rainbow trailed off, staring at her hooves. The cup completely encased in ice and frost. She coughed as she quickly threw the cup behind her, and into the bush.
"Girls, I've got to go." She quickly grabbed her charm, clasped it back around her neck.
"Why the sudden hurry?"
"Errr....weather duties. I forgot. They want me back at HQ for a meeting today." Rainbow lied again, standing up and flapping her wings. A small patch of grass began cover in ice, the pegasus glanced at it and began to have a mental meltdown of panic in her head.
"But you said you had nothing planned."
"Well....umm...I've got to...I've got to..." Rainbow glanced at her wing, and the loose feathers hang limply to it. "I've got to re-preen my wings."
"Re-preen?" Rarity repeated, confused.
"Well, since AJ ripped out my feathers, I have to re-preen them. Otherwise, I won't be able to fly straight." She laughed nervously.
"Okay, then. We'll see you lat-"
"Yeah, thanks bye!" Rainbow Dash quickly muttered as she sped off, into the sky. The mares watched the fading rainbow as a voice shouted from a distance. Shocking the mares and making the others in the cafe jump in fright.
"TWILIGHT!! I FOUND IT!!"
Author's Notes:
I do not own Frozen, that's Disney's. I have based this off the movie.
I'm trying to make this story following the plot of Frozen as much as I can. Some parts are not from the movie as I need them to make sense in this story.
I hope you enjoy, and comment any errors.
Chapter 2
"Yeah, thanks bye!" Rainbow Dash quickly muttered as she sped off, into the sky. The mares watched the fading rainbow as a voice shouted from a distance. Shocking the mares and making the others in the cafe jump in fright.
"TWILIGHT!! I FOUND IT!!" It screamed. The three mares squinted until they saw a purple and green figure running towards them. The violet mare stared with disbelief as her little assistant ran up to them, holding a very large book.
The small dragon coughed and wheezed as he stopped at the table. Panting as the boiling sun beamed down on him.
"T-Twilight...I-I...I found the bo-ok." He panted as the alicorn lifted up the book and placed it beside her. Her fashion designer friend hovered the tired dragon into her lap, letting him rest and capture his breathe again.
"Thanks, Spike." Twilight smiled at the wheezing dragon. She used her aura to hover Rainbow's empty cup, and fill it with water, using a spell. She then carefully handed the cup to her young friend, ignoring the ice and frost covering it.
Spike quickly grabbed the cup and gulped down the cold water. Before staring at the frost cover cup.
"Twi, what's with all the ice?" He asked as he pointed at the cup.
Twilight rolled her eyes. Even though she was an alicorn, and that her talent was magic, her spells were still sticky. It annoyed her so much that for a princess like her to be getting things wrong. Especially when everyone expected her to be as perfect as Celestia.
"Just a side effect." She muttered, but she didn't know whether ice was a side effect to her spell or not
"Anyway, thank you, Spike. Where did you find it?"
"Behind the bookcase. My yoyo fell behind and as I was grabbing it, I found the book." Spike explained, staring at the white beauty before him.
"If I may intrude, what book is that?" Rarity asked.
"It's Equestria's record of royals. Now that I'm a princess, I want to see what other royals I'm related to." Twilight explained as she opened the book. Her two friends watching closely, reading the contents.
"How about tha Royal family of tha Gryphon Islands?"
"No. They're not technically related anymore."
"What about this? The Royal family of the Skies?" Rarity pointed her white hoof at the stained, aged paper. Twilight stared, confused, at the scribbles upon the paper.
"I've never heard of them before." She flicked to the page that was written on the contents. As they found the page, their eyes gazed upon the feather patterns around the border of the page.
"The Royal Family of the Skies ruled the grand city of Cloudsdale. Caring for all pegasi all over Equestria. The Royal Family of the Skies were to be known as the kindest royals in all Equestria's history." Twilight read out loud.
"How come we've never heard of them?"
"Because they closed the gates." A voice murmed behind them. Making the mares, and the dragon, jump in fright.
"Cloudkicker?"
A purple pegasus mare smiled gently at the princess. Behind her, a yellow mare with a tousled blue mane, and a grey stallion with an ice blue mohawk. Their saddle bags tightly strapped around their waists.
"Sorry for intruding, Twilight. We just overheard you." Cloudkicker apologised, but the princess just smiled back.
"That's okay. But who is this Royal Family? And the gates you mentioned?"
"Our Royal Family have always been here. Their castle is the largest building in Cloudsdale. That used to be open for everpony." Raindrops waved her hoof across the sky.
"Used to be?"
"Yes. Unfortunately, something happened. Nopony knows what, but one day, the gates closed. Nopony saw the recent King, Queen or their daughters. Ever."
"They must be King Windy Skies and Queen Misty Breeze. But they're dead." Twilight gasped as she read the about the deaths of two innocent ponies. She's never been too keen on death. She's read about it in books and novels, but she's never actually had a pony close to her die. She just hoped these princesses were okay.
"And what of the two princesses?" Rarity inquired, only just able to read the two names as Twilight's hoof covered them. But decided not to read them out loud, in case they were wrong.
"One's dead, the other is being coronated. To be a queen. Tomorrow."
"A queen?!" The three mares squealed.
"Yeah. Apparently she's beautiful, and sweet." Raindrops added.
"And hot." Thunderlane sniggered, earning a punch from one the pegasi mares.
"Yes, well, you are welcome to come. Many earth ponies and unicorns are coming. They are going to be charmed by other unicorns who know the cloud walking spells." Cloudkicker informed. "And you have to go, Twilight. You're royalty anyway. Celestia has to go as well, after all, she's crowning the princess."
Twilight was overcome by so much new information. Her mentor, her second mother, had never told her of such. She was never told of this Royal Family. Nothing. No history books either.
"Thank you. But where are you going?"
"To Cloudsdale of course. Every pegasus in Ponyville is going."
"That's probably why Rainbow was in such a hurry. She probably forgot to pack last minute." Rarity whispered to her amber friend, who nodded in reply.
"Okay then. We'll see you later then." Twilight and the others waved as the pegasi began to flutter away. Towards the large city of Cloudsdale.
"Come on, girls. I guess we are going to have a trip to Cloudsdale." Twilight stood up. Flapping her aching wings. "I'll tell Pinkie and Fluttershy. Meet us at the library and I'll get a royal carriage for us. Okay?" The alicorn hovered her assistant and the book onto her back, her friends nodding.
"Sure. A trip would be delightful." Rarity grinned.
"It sure would be fun." Applejack tipped her hat as she stood up. "See y'all tomorrow than."
As the three ponies departed to get ready for tomorrow, the prim and prissy unicorn grew puzzled over the two names she saw in the book. But dismissed it. She wasn't a bookworm like Twilight, but she knew something big is going happened soon.

Chapter 3
"Come on, come on, come on, come on!" The little white maned filly squealed happily as she dragged her sister into the hall. Her elder sister attempting to calm the excited filly down as she closed the doors.
"Okay, shush." Snowea hushed, her plait swinging next to her shoulder.
"Do the magic! Do the magic!!" Glacier giggled, fluttering her tiny wings. Her sister laughed quietly as she sat down on the cloud floor. And began waving her hooves together, her sister watching in complete awe as snowflakes began to burst between her hooves, forming a snowball. The blue light twinkling as the snowball glimmered. They both grinned as Snowea threw the snowball into the air, and watched it burst into one giant flurry in the hall, the snowflakes glittered around, catching the light of the early morning sun. Glacier squealed as she span around, catching the snowflakes in her mouth.
"This is amazing!!" She yelled, jumping up and down.
"Watch this, Glacy." Snowea whispered to her sister standing up, and wearing a large grin. Glacier stared as the older pegasus stamped her hoof upon the floor, and watched as the the floor was covered in a bright, thin layer of ice. Glacier slipped over and giggled as she slipped around.
~~~
The rainbow maned mare smiled gently at the pleasant memory, her rose coloured eyes brimming with joy and happiness. But as she glanced at the mirror before her, that flicker of joy was gone. Now, a flame of fear and worry formed in her eyes.
The mare staring back at her shook with fear and concern, before fading to a completely different mare. She quietly sighed as she glanced upon herself. Her old self.
Gazing at the dark violet cape that was fastened around her neck, with a simple turquoise gem. The collars standing among her light cyan neck. The ice cyan wings tightly folded against the mare's side. The near white hair that was in a plain twist and bun updo. And finally, the light, bright sapphire blue eyes with the large curled eyelashes. Staring back at her. But instead of happiness and confidence they once contained, fear filled that empty space behind her blue eyes.
She turned away from the mirror, shaking her head, and trotted towards the window of the room she was in. Gazing at the happy ponies trotting to the large castle, laughing and chatting as they walked towards the grand castle, waiting for the gates to open. The summer sun beating down upon the cloud city, as it waited for it's ruler to come forth.
~~~
Glacier and Snowea pushed around a large snowball, creating a short snowpony. The hall was completely covered in a thick blanket of glistening snow. The room was freezing cold, but it didn't both the two fillies, especially the elder one.
The light cyan filly grabbed some sticks and used them as wings. Glacy sat in front of the figure of snow, a large smile beaming off of her face. Her older sister flapped the sticks up and down as if they were proper wings.
"Hi, I'm Morsom Wings and I like warm hugs." Snowea giggled in a goofy voice as her little sister jumped up, and hugged the snowpony.
"I love you, Morrie!" She squeaked as she giggled at her sister. The two loving siblings laughed together as they hugged the snowy figure.
~~~
Rainbow Dash turned away from the window and trotted to her table. A large portrait of a stallion above it. He wore an expression of pure confidence and dedication as he held the sceptre and orb of Cloudsdale.
"Don't let them in. Don't let them see. Be the good girl, you always have to be." She whispered to herself in hope to calm down. Rainbow took a deep breath as she slowly picked up a little, round, blue pot and a candlestick holder. She breathed out heavily as she turned around, facing the same way as her painted father. An overload of fear exploded in her mind.
"Conceal, don't feel. Put on a show." She croaked, standing confidently.
Until frost began to cover the candlestick and the ornament, completely covering in ice and frost.
"Make one wrong move and everyone will know." She told herself, begging herself to calm down as she threw the candlestick and the ornament back onto the table. Why was she so different? Why did she have to put up with this? To live in constant fear of hurting somepony close...again...
~~~
Glacier wildly squealed as she skidded around on the ice, holding onto Morsom. They slipped around as Snowea stood up on her back legs, using her front hooves to create an icy blast to push them around. The both of them laughing with joy as they played together. Their laughter proving their joy, and happiness.
~~~
A number of soft knocks on the door brought the pegasus mare out of her daydream. She shook her head as she remembered where she was.
"Yes?" She called out quietly.
"Your highness, you have guests. Including the new Princess." A pony replied from outside of the door. Rainbow sighed as she glanced back at the mirror, staring at herself again, but with utter disappointment. She pulled out her snowflake charm, staring at the small crack, her mind in utter worry and fear.
"Let them in." She ordered, tucking her charm away, hiding it in her collar. The door clicked as five mares slowly trotted in, the four other ponies gasped in shock, as the alicorn princess closed her eyes and stood up straight, not bothering to pay attention the pegasus.
"Your highness, I am Princess Twilight Spa- Rainbow Dash?!" The alicorn yelled as she opened her eyes. The others stared at the pegasus mare in the long purple cloak, who held her head low.
"You're the Princess, to be coronated as Queen?" Twilight coughed from the overload of information. All through the night, she puzzled over this new princess. And how she never even heard of it, or why her pegasus friends didn't even tell her. She stressed out so much last night, she fell asleep on the floor. Now, she was completely dumbstruck. Stuck for any words.
"Yes, I am the daughter of King Windy Skies and Queen Misty Breeze. I am forced to take my father's throne, as I have come of age and the king is no longer with us, I have to take his place...as a Queen..." Rainbow muttered. The mares still staring at her. In complete and utter confusion and shock. Especially Rarity.
"OoooOooo!! Princess party!!!" Pinkie squealed, breaking the silence. Rainbow stepped back, as her bouncy friend skipped around. "No! Wait! A Queen party!!"
As the excited pink pony skipped around the room, the others turned their attention back to Rainbow. Still waiting for an answer from her.
"Why did you never tell us? We're your friends, right?" Rarity asked.
"Of course, I just....I just couldn't tell you...I couldn't..." Rainbow fluttered her wings, and walked away. Her hyper friend jumping in front of her, making the pegasus gasp.
"Pinkie!"
"Dashie! Cheer up! You're going to be a Queen! That's totally awesome." She giggled.
"Well..." Rainbow trailed off, unable to say anything to her stuck friends. This was a large secret she had been keeping for all her life, and this was only the start of it.
"Rainbow, I-I can't believe you never told us. D-Didn't you trust us?" Twilight stuttered, so distraught over the fact that one of her closet friends never told her about any of this. She had so many questions to ask. She needed so many answers.
"Yeah, Dash. Why didn' ya tell us?" Applejack scowled. She seemed more angry than the others. But her mad expression softened as she saw the stammering, and sorry looking pegasus.
"Ah'm sorry, Dash.
She opened her mouth to speak but was interrupted by a servant trotting in.
"Sorry to interrupt you, Princess...erm...Princesses," She bowed before the pegasus and the alicorn. Rainbow gulped, it had been a very long time since she was here. Since she left, and deserted her parents.
"Yes, what is it?" Rainbow Dash asked formerly. The girls were completely new to this new Rainbow Dash, this formal, and sophisticated Rainbow Dash.
"It's time soon, for your coronation. Princess Celestia and Luna have arrived, and are expecting you to open the gates." The servant explained, standing up from bowing.
"Yes...well, tell them that the ceremony will begin soon."
"Yes, your majesty." She smiled as she trotted out, closing the door.
Rainbow sighed to herself again, and turned to her friends. Who, despite the confusion, smiled to their friend. And hugged her for support. The cyan pegasus felt happy for a couple seconds, feeling her friends' embrace. But, it didn't stop her fears controlling her. Everyday she had to go through the fear of hurting somepony, friend or stranger. That brash and confident personality she sported through the years, was just an act. A shell for her real self to hide in as she cried.
"I've got to go, girls." She muttered.
"We know, we understand."
"You do?" The pegasus was confused herself. Everything was happening so quickly, so very quickly. One moment, she's a weather pony in Ponyville, the next, she's a princess again off to be coronated.
"Although everything is going really fast, and we still don't know many details, we are still your friends. And we will be there for you, no matter what." Rarity hushed, with sympathy in her eyes. She grew puzzled over the names in the books, but pushed it aside as her friend smiled at her.
"Thank you." Rainbow Dash gazed at the beaming grins on the mares' faces. Oh, how they shined with pure confidence, unlike their friend.
The rainbow maned mare trotting up to the door, opening the large white doors. As she opened them, she noticed two lines of pegasi servants. Standing proudly, and quietly.
"Tell the guards to open up...the gates." She ordered.
Outside, the enormous, cloud gates creaked open as the two stallions pulled them open. A rush of ponies crowed around as they began to enter the courtyard. Laughter and joy filled the courtyard as the ponies filled it.
As the girls exited the room, Rainbow slowly walked through the corridor, with the maids bowing. Her long, purple cloak dragging across the cloud floor. Her head held up high as she walked to the balcony doors.
"Don't let them in, don't let them see." She whispered to herself. A lump of pure fear at the bottom of her stomach. She placed her hooves on the handles of the balcony door, and took a deep breath as she opened the doors wide.
"Be the good mare, you always have to be."
The light beamed down, and shone brightly as the pegasus mare walked onto the balcony, that overlooked the courtyard . The pegasi in below, looked up to see their new leader.
"Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know." She gulped, gazing at the ponies below. Scared, worried and hoping everything will be okay. That it will go off without a hitch, and then she can close the gates again. After all, it's only for today.
Author's Notes:
Sorry if it feels rushed. I don't even know why I write it quickly.
Next chapter, the girls are still confused over this and decide to explore the castle. Pinkie wanders off and bumps into a certain stallion who saves her life. And who she falls in love with.
Dun dun duuuuunnn!!
Thank you for reading.
Chapter 4
"My, I have so many questions to ask Rainbow Dash." The pearl white unicorn stated, as the five mares trotted around the large, spacious cloud castle. Gazing at the portraits, ornaments and various statues.
"I know. We all do. But, for the time being, we should be quiet. We'll ask the questions later. Obviously, Rainbow had a good reason not to tell us. But we will find out, when she feels like it's the right time." The young alicorn replied, earning a set of nods from her friends.
"Of course, Twilight. The poor dear look absolutely terrified. She was shaking, stuttering and was pretty pale."
"Ah can' believe tha she never told us though." Applejack huffed.
"Maybe it's because she just didn't want to be a princess." Fluttershy pointed out, unaware of their pink friend wondering around. The four mares' conversation continuing as the party pony giggled as she skipped away.
"Ooo! Oh! Aah! OoOoo! Hahah!" The bouncy pink mare squealed as she jumped around, staring and gazing at the portraits. As her friends walked down the corridor, Pinkie Pie followed the portraits until she was nearly outside. She instantly stopped bouncing as she reached the wide open door. Her bright blue eyes opened wide.
"Wow. Lot's a lot of ponies."
It was a long, cloud made pier. With enormous airships attached by rope. Ponies of all types and sizes trotted out as Pinkie walked past. She turned around as she stood in a shadow, to see the outside of the castle. Pinkie didn't pay attention to it as they were walking in. She was too excited. But right now, she was soaking in the beauty of the building. The crowd of ponies circling away from her, avoiding bumping into the still mare.
That was until a bulky grey stallion pushed right past her, putting her off her balance, and pushing her dangerously close to the edge of the pier.
"Hey! Watch where you're going, twit!" He yelled in a gruff voice, walking away. But Pinkie Pie couldn't reply back with a cocky remark like she usually does. As she found her hooves struggling to stay still. It happened so quickly, and no pony passing her thought to help, as she fell back. She yelped out as she no longer felt the cloud beneath her hooves. Closing her eyes tight as prepared herself for gruesome death.
Yet, she felt no rushing air brushing her coat. She no longer felt that falling sensation. The bubbly pony peeked one eye open, expecting the worst.
She gasped as she saw herself surround by an arctic blue aura. Hovering mere centimetres away from the edge of the pier. She shakily looked up to the pony who's aura saved her life. Her eyes and heart melted at the sight of him.
A tall, and charming white unicorn stallion, stood by the edge. His horn lighting up with the same colour of his eyes. His gorgeous, heart melting eyes.
Pinkie Pie felt herself float back onto the cloud pier. She stared at the stallion, with the warming smile, as he helped her sit down to calm the poor mare down.
As the the aura around her dispersed, Pinkie stared in awe as the stallion with the shining blonde mane.
"Excuse me, Miss, are you hurt?" He asked, his soothing voice making the mare fluster and blush.
"I-ya, no. No. I'm fine." She sheepishly grinned.
"Are you sure?" He asked again, concerned for the mare's safety and wellbeing.
"Yeah, I just wasn't looking where I was going." She quickly stood up, smiling as she stared at the charming stallion. "I'm great, actually."
"Oh thank goodness." He smiled too. Making Pinkie butter up inside.
"Wait?! Why am I feeling like this? I can't fall in love, but he's so dreamy. Oh sweet Celestia! This has never been my dream before...but it is now." Pinkie thought to herself as she sighed happily.
"Oh, Prince Blueblood of Canterlot. Nephew of Princess Celestia herself." He bowed before the pink mare.
"Erm, Pinkamena Diana Pie of Ponyville. Element of Laughter of the Elements of Harmony." Pinkie replied formally, giggling as she bowed.
"Element of Harmony...? My lady." He bowed again to the mare, who began blushing madly. Nopony in her life had been so nice to herself.
As Blueblood bowed, he did not notice the group of ponies trotting down the pier. Pushing past him.
Prince Blueblood stumbled over his hooves as he fell on top of the pink baker.
They bothe chuckled awkardly.
"Hi...again." Pinkie hummed, feeling the stallion soft fur, and his sweet scent.
As they both shakily got up again, Pinkie tripped over a lump of cloud, sticking out. She slammed into the Prince as they tumbled to the ground again. This time, with Pinkie Pie on top.
"Oh boy." Blue muttered.
"Ha. This is awkward. Not that you're awkward, but just because we're- I'm awkward. You're gorgeous." She stuttered as Blue helped the two of them get up. Pinkie's eyes opened wide as she realised what she had just said.
"Wait, what?"
As Pinkie bit her tongue, blushing furiously, Prince Blueblood brushed himself down.
"I'd like to formally apologise for hitting the Lady of Harmony with myself...and for every moment after." He smiled gently to the mare.
"No. No-no. It’s fine. I'm not that lady. I mean, if you met my other friends, that would be-- yeash! ‘Cuz, you know..." She trailed of, awkwardly staring at her hooves. "But, lucky you, it’s-it’s just me." She giggled at him.
Blue chuckled at the pink pony's cute giggle.
"Just you?"
The two ponies stood there on the empty pier as the bells began to ring in the distance. Pinkie ignored the rings she sighed happily, staring at the Prince's handsomeness. She was acting completely out of character. She should be giggling and throwing parties, not stuttering and blushing over some silly stallion.
Pinkie blinked several times as the bells rings finally reached her ears.
"...The bells. The coronation. I-I-I better go. I have to...I better go." She stuttered as she began walking away, smiling at the prince. "Bye!" She waved to him as she hurried off inside of the castle. The stallion watched, a smile plastered across his face as the mare galloped inside.
Chapter 5
The two fillies clutched onto each other as they sat upon a tall snow mound. They giggled wildly as they slipped down the make-do snow slide. Giggling as Glacier jumped and landed in a snow mound. As the small filly sat up laughing, she shook her head and stood up. Fearlessly jumping into mid air.
"Catch me!" She squealed. Snowea giggled as she made a snow peak.
"Gotcha." She teased, creating more snow mounds as her sister jumped.
"Again! Again!" Glacier giggled, flapping her tiny wings as she jumped faster and faster. Snowea panicked as she began to stuggle to keep up.
"Slow down!" Snowea called out, but was ignored by the young filly as she jumped again. Snowea attempted to make another snow mound, but slipped on the ice. Falling to the floor with a thud. She watched in fear as her sister jumped up again, squealing and laughing.
"Glacy!" Snowea shouted. Trying to save her sister. But her magic accidentally struck her little sister in head. Glacier tumbled down a snowbank near the open balcony, unconscious.
"Glacier!!" Snowea screamed in fear. Running over to her little sister. Holding the unconscious filly's body in her forelegs. Ignoring the creaks and groans of the weak supports of the balcony.
"Oh no." The pegasus muttered, holding the filly close.
~~~~~~
The pegasus stood straight at the alter. Her head held high. A grand white alicorn stood before her. Her little blue sister beside her. Her night sky mane swaying beside her face. A choir was singing a traditional pegasus song above in a balcony. Cloud benches were placed throughout the small hall. Ponies of all types and sizes sitting on them.
The newest princess of Equestria sat at the front bench, with her three other friends. One of which kept turning around, waving at a certain white unicorn prince.
The choir stopped with a hum. The cyan pegasus sighed, her cloak trailing across the aisle. The white alicorn coughed quietly, grabbing the pegasus mare's attention. The pegasus lowered her head as a small yet sparkling crown was placed upon her head.
As she rose, a purple cushion was presented to her. Making her hesitate as she shakily moved her front hooves towards the orb and sceptre. Slowly, she picked them up, turning to the ponies sitting in front.
Celestia began reading a script in the traditional pegasus language. Completely understandable to the pegasi in the hall, but confused every unicorn and earth pony.
Rainbow gulped as she tried to stare ahead. Glancing at her smiling friends, and at the objects in her hooves.
The pegasus began breathing nervously. The orb and spectre in her hooves beginning to cover in ice. She couldn't understand why of all the times and places, it had to be now. In front of everyone.
"...Queen Rainbow of Cloudsdale." Celestia finished as Rainbow quickly turned around, placing the orb and sceptre of Cloudsdale, onto the cushion.
"Queen Rainbow of Cloudsdale." The crowd repeated before clapping and cheering. The cyan mare sighed in relief. She had made it now. She was safe. Everything was going to be fine.
However, Celestia's musk rose eyes gazed upon the ice. She stared in confusion before glancing at the pegasus. Her suspicions growing. She never knew why the late King closed the gates of Cloudsdale Castle. It always troubled her.
Yet, she put it aside. The past is in the past. Right now, they had a celebration to enjoy.
~~~~~~
The great cloud hall was brimmed springy music, dancing ponies in fancy frocks, and the scent of delicious food drifting around.
Princess Celestia and Princess Luna walked onto small stage. Underneath a formal awning. They stood up straight as they smiled to everypony in the room.
"Queen Rainbow of Cloudsdale." The sun goddess announced, bowing as the cyan pegasus entered the room. Poised and was looking surprisingly content as she stood in front of the alicorns.
"Princess Twilight Sparkle and the Ladies of Harmony." Luna stated. Also bowing as the five mares trotted up, standing next to the new Queen.
They all stood silently as the crowd began talking among themselves and danced.
Rainbow smiled gently at the crowd, before turning to her friends.
"...hi." She whispered, sighing to herself. Her friends all awkwardly smiled back. All unable to say anything.
"You all look beautiful."
"Thank you." They said in unison before glancing at each other in surprise and laughing. Rainbow laughed along with them. So glad her friends were with her. Yet, she felt empty. She felt like another pony should be by her side.
"You, too, look beautiful." Fluttershy complimented, blushing at the same time.
Rainbow chuckled lightly.
"Thank you."
They all looked out at the celebration. Watching the giggling mares and grinning stallions as they all danced.
"So, you're a Queen now?" Rarity sniffed. Glancing at the crown upon the pegasus mare's head.
"I'm sorry I never told you. I really am. I just....I just wanted to live like a normal pony. I never wanted this. To have servants, maids and cooks. To have ponies do things for you. And to control nearly a whole empire of pegasi." Rainbow explained.
"It's okay. We understand. And remember Rainbow, we are all here for you." Twilight reassured. But she still had so much to ask. As Rainbow looks back out, at the party, the alicorn looked at the pegasus. She wanted ask more, but she didn't know where to start.
Just as she opened her mouth to speak, a pegasus, followed by a unicorn bowed in front of the new queen.
"Your Majesty. The Duke of Canterlot." The pegasus introduced as the tall white stallion bowed. His slick blue mane glimmering in the artificial light.
"Duke? I never knew that you were the Duke of Canterlot, Fancypants." Rarity interrupted, quickly covering her mouth for her rudeness.
But, the stallion chuckled.
"Not very many know. Being one of the highest unicorns, beside Prince Blueblood, I represent Canterlot in many formal trips. Especially when it comes to Canterlot's trade partners."
"Of course."
Fancypants turned to the cyan mare, grinning.
"Your Majesty, as your closest partner in trade, it seems only fitting that I offer you your first dance as queen." He did a funny flitter of his hooves before taking a deep bow. As he holds out his hoof, his head down, his stunning blue toupee dips over his horn. The mares giggle and turn to Rainbow, who stifles a giggle herself.
"Thank you...only I don't dance." She watched as the stallion stood up, his toupee flipping over.
"Oh...?" He mumbled, slightly offended.
"But my friend, Pinkie Pie, does."
"What?" The pink mare interrupted.
"Lucky you..." Fancypants smiled.
"Oh, I don't think-" Fancypants grabbed Pinkie's foreleg and yanked her away before she could protest.
"If you swoon, let me know, I'll catch you."
Pinkie looked back at her friend, desperately. Who waves back and mouths a sorry to the pink mare.
~~~
Pinkie felt like that this was the worst moment ever. She wanted to just walk away, but couldn't. Fancypants was too insistent that she dances with him. He showboated around, but he was just awful. The mare felt so embarrased by the stallion, but she tried to make the best of it, slowly shuffling around. Her dress bouncing up and down.
"Like an agile peacock...cluck-cluggle-cluck!!" He pranced around, unaware that he was kicking the mare in the legs every so often. Pinkie Pie winced as he did so.
"Speaking of, so great to have the gates open. Why did they shut them in the first place? Do you know the reason? Hmmm?" He questioned, their snouts touching as he pestered the mare, as she sheepishly smiled.
"....No...not really." She replied.
"Oh all right." He muttered. Quickly, he picked up the mare, so the two of them were on their hind legs. "Hang on. They don't call me the fancy dipper for nothing." He boasted as he dipped Pinkie back. Her friends peeking through the crowd, barely holding in their laughter. The party mare shot Rainbow a funny, help-me look, but it was too late as Fancypants brought her back up.
"Like a chicken....with the face of a donkey...I fly!" He skipped around, earning looks of surprise and laughter as he did so. Making the mare blush and hid her face with her hoof.
Tonight, was going to be a long night.

I'm sorry if it's going really quickly. I don't know why either. I guess I can't follow a movie like this. But I will still continue.

Chapter 6
The usually pink mare yawned as she limped back over to her friends. Tired and worn out from the crazed dancing stallion. Her friends giggled as they watched her stumble next to them, waving to the stallion.
"Let me know me know when you're ready for another round, M'Lady." The stallion called as he trotted away. Pinkie slumped to the floor, happy but tired. Noticing that her other friends had wandered off, talking with other ponies.
"Well, he was sprightly." Rainbow chuckled as Pinkie began rubbing her hooves.
"Especially for a stallion of that size." She snorted.
"Are you okay?" Rainbow Dash asked. Watching her friend stand up.
"I've never been better." Pinkie grinned. "This is so amazing! I bet that every night will be like this! I wish it could be all the time!" The bubbly mare waved her forelegs, and pointed at all the happy faces.
"Me too..." Rainbow said sincerely. Feeling happy and warm. But she caught herself, stiffening up and looking away. She was Queen now. She has to live here again. She has to be another pony. She has to shut the gates.
"But it can't."
"Wait, why not?" Pinkie inquired with a stern face. "If-"
"It just can't." Dash interrupted. Feeling sorry for her friend, watching her expression drop.
"I have to stay here, Pinkie. I am Queen. It's my duty. It can't be like this. Not ever. I'm sorry."
Pinkie's smile fell as she tried not to get emotional.
"Excuse me for a minute." She muttered, trotting away. Her best friend watching, saddened.
With her head down, Pinkie Pie moved through the crowd of ponies. Who were completely oblivious to the vibrant pink mare.
Suddenly, a large stallion moved back, bumping into Pinkie. She yelped out as she fell.
But just as she was about to hit the floor, a blue and white hoof caught onto her's. She looked up to see him smiling perfectly.
"Glad I caught you." He smiled.
"Blue!" Pinkie grinned, her night was finally lighting up again.
Blueblood set down his drink on a passing before lifting up the pink mare. Leading her into a romantic dance. She sighed happily, forgetting everything from earlier on. Just happy that she was dancing with the stallion she loves.
~~~~~~
As the night went on, the two ponies talked among themselves. Chatting about random stories in their lives.
"Yeah, I also have the Pinkie-ma-jig which can whiz around and fly!" Pinkie Pie explained, opening her fore-legs to demonstrate the wings of her little flight machine. As she opened her fore-legs, she accidentally hit Blueblood in the face with her hoof.
"Oops. Sorry." She blushed as he laughed.
~~~
The two love struck ponies now sat up a balcony ledge. Enjoying the night sky as the pink party pony taught the Prince how to eat a cake, Pinkie Pie style.
She giggled as Blue tried shoving the cake in mouth.
"Yeah, the whole thing! You got it."
They both laughed as the remains of the cake crumbled down his face.
"Okay wait, wait. So how many times have you been removed as Celestia's nephew?" She asked.
"52 times...on her mother's side. It's a tricky line of my family." The Prince smirked.
"Tell me about it."
"Well, that's what family is about."
"Well, not only do I come from a long line of earth ponies, I have an adoptive family in Ponyville. And I may also be part of Equestria's biggest family." Pinkie pointed in the direction of Appleloosa, and her home town.
"Oh, really." Blueblood smiled gently, holding the mare's hoof and leaning closer. "Maybe your family will get even bigger."
Pinkie blushed and giggled at the same time.
"Listen, can I say something crazy?"
"I love crazy."
"All my life has been a series of parties and friendship of others. With no one there to be special. But then I bumped into you." She smiled, flickering her eyelashes at the stallion.
"I was thinking the same thing, because like I've been searching my whole life to find my own place. With loving friends, and a caring wife."
"But with you, I found something there." Pinkie squeaked, she grabbed the stallions hooves and pulled him. The two jumped onto the next balcony.
"I found my wife." Blueblood grinned, twirling the mare.
"I know, you're a prince and all, but-"
"We can't let that stop us being together." The stallion continued as they walked.
"I mean, it's crazy."
"What?"
"We finish other's-"
"Sandwiches!!" Pinkie Pie squealed as she span around a pole.
"That's what I was going to say!" The two trotted down to a bridge, and danced across. Laughing and giggling as they did so.
"I've never met someone who thinks so much like me." They hummed in unison, as they span around.
"Jinx!" They grabbed each other's hooves, dancing in the moon light as they did so.
"Jinx again!"
The two ponies continued to dance together across the different parts of the cloud castle. Talking among each other as they both blushed.
"Our mental synchronisation, can have but one explanation." The two lovestruck ponies laughed as they danced in unison.
They galloped together, over towards a liquid rainbow waterfall.
"You-"
"And I-"
"Were-"
"Just-"
"Meant to be!" They sang together as they stood on a ledge beneath the rainbow-fall. Humming as they gazed up at the stunning view of the moon. Giving off a sweet glow that gently shimmered on the liquid rainbow.
"Can I say something crazy....?" Prince Blueblood asked as he grabbed Pinkie's hoof and knelt down.
"Will you marry me?"
The pink mare gasped in delight.
"Can I just say something even crazier?" She giggled as she grinned. Hugging the unicorn stallion.
"Yes!!"
Author's Notes:
Sorry about this chapter. Since I can't put songs in, it's tricky to twist it all around. But I hope it's okay.
And sorry it took so long. Sorry.I think you can guess what is going to happen next.
Chapter 7
The hall was still full of ponies. Still all dancing, chatting and laughing. Among those were the Royal Sisters, who talked along with a couple of other ponies. The youngest, and newest alicorn of Equestria chatted with several other ponies. A couple of which she knew. The rest of the bearers of Harmony split and walked around the hall. The butterscotch pegasus stood beside the newly coronated, as she bowed to others. Also, the amber farm pony and the white pearl unicorn gossiped among themselves.
However, as a certain pink mare pushed through the crowd, with the Prince in tow, the fashionista mare gasped.
"My word!" She coughed, grabbing her friend's attention.
"Wha?" The apple mare asked, completely confused.
"Pinkie Pie, dear, is with...with that revolting Prince Blueblood." Rarity snorted.
"Ya mean tha stinkin' stallion from tha Gala?"
"Yes, and look." Rarity pointed to the pink party pony as she giggled along with the stallion. "I don't know what she's doing, but she better not be fooled by him."
"Ah don' know, he might have changed." Applejack yawned.
"Pttf. As if." The unicorn laughed, remembering faintly her experience with the Prince.
~~~
"Oops! Pardon. Sorry." The bubbly rose mare apologised as she dragged the stallion towards her friend, the new Queen.
"Can we just get around you there? Thank you." She sheepishly smiled as she tried to get around a large, very large, stallion.
"Oh, there she is. Dashie!" She called.
The cyan mare turned around and smiled gently to her friend.
"Hello, Pinkie." She smiled as her friend awkwardly curtseyed.
"I mean...Queen Dashie...Me again." Pinkie Pie squeaked.
"Um. May I present Prince Blueblood Of Canterlot." She pointed to the stallion beside her.
"Your majesty." Blueblood said as he bowed to the newly crowned Queen. Rainbow gave a polite, yet reserved curtsey to the Prince. Trying to remember where she has heard of him before.
"We would like--" Pinkie giggled.
"--Your blessing--" Blue continued as the two held hooves.
"--Of--"
"--Our marriage!" They grinned. Beaming as the held each other close. The rest of her friends standing slightly beside them, all holding confused looks.
"Marriage...?" Rainbow Dash muttered, clearly confused over the whole thing.
"Yes!" Pinkie beamed.
"I'm sorry. I'm confused." Rainbow placed a hoof to her forehead.
"Well, we haven’t worked out all the details ourselves. We’ll need a few days to plan the ceremony. Of course we’ll have soup, roast vegetables, and ice cream and then-- Wait. Would we live in Ponyville, Canterlot, or shall we live here?" The baker blabbered on, her 'fiancé' nodding along.
"Here?" Rainbow repeated.
"Absolutely!" Blueblood smiled.
"This place is amazing! And I hope you wouldn't mind us staying here."
"Pinkie-" The pegasus began before her friend interjected.
"Oh, shall we invite the whole of your family?" Pinkie squealed. Hanging onto the stallions fore-leg.
"What? No, no, no, no, no." The cyan mare shook her head, but was completely ignored by her friend.
"Of course we have the room. I don’t know. Some of them must--
"Wait. Slow down. No one’s family is staying here. No one is getting married." Rainbow Dash finally interrupted. Pinkie's smile dropped.
"Wait, what?"
"May I talk to you, please. Alone." Rainbow asked, gulping.
Pinkie glanced up to her newly found love, hooking fore-legs with him as the stood their ground in front of the Queen. The group of their friends holding worried expressions as they stood beside them. The Royal Sisters also stood beside the group of young ponies, concerned for the three ponies.
"Fine. You can’t marry a stallion you just met." Rainbow said bluntly, raising her head.
"You can if it’s true love." Pinkie defended.
"Pinkie, what do you know about true love?" The pegasus Queen hushed.
"More than you. All you know is how to shove it back in other ponies faces." Pinkie replied back, snorting at the pegasus. Rainbow blinked several times, taking a step back. She thought for a couple of seconds, before looking sternly at the pink earth pony.
"You asked for my blessing, but my answer is no. Now, excuse me." Rainbow began to slowly walk away, not noticing that her snowflake charm had swung out over her cloak. Clearly visible to everyone who saw it.
"Your Majesty, if I may ease your--" Prince Blueblood started.
"No, you may not. And I-I think you should go." She stuttered, clearly flustered. As she walked away, she turned to the Royal Handler.
"The party is over. Close the gates." Dash ordered.
"What? Dashie, no. No, wait!" She begged grabbing onto the collar of her friend's cloak. But, her hoof slipped. Grasping onto the chain of the charm instead. As the Queen walked away, Pinkie pulled it, snapping the chain.
Rainbow gasped as she turned around. Reaching for the charm.
"Give me my necklace!" She begged, as Pinkie held it away from her.
"Dashie, please. Please. You can’t live like this. Away from everypony. We can't see you like this." Pinkie Pie whimpered. Rainbow stood in silence, watching her friends upset expression. The cyan mare felt like she was on the verge of tears. Knowing that she was a danger to them.
"...Then leave." She whispered weakly. As Rainbow Dash glanced at her best friend's hurt expression, she turned away as she couldn't take any-more. Rushing away as she felt her hooves growing colder.
Pinkie watched as her closest friend walked away.
"...What did we ever do to you?!" She demanded, shouting. As her yells echoed around, the party grew silent as everypony watched the two ponies.
"Enough, Pinkie." Rainbow hushed, holding her hoof to her chest as she could feel the cold growing.
"No. Why? Why must you shut us out?!" Pinkie Pie yelled.
"Why must you shut your friends out?! What are you so afraid of?!" She demanded. Not seeing the frustration growing in the pegasus mare.
"I said," Rainbow Dash started, rising onto her back legs.
"ENOUGH!!" She screamed. Slamming down onto the floor in a fit of rage. As she did, a layer of ice slithered around, trailing from her hooves. Giant spikes of ice shot out of the ice. Making the crowd of ponies stumble back and gasp in shock.
However, the ice did not stop. The crowd parted as the ice still continued to glide across the floor. Until it reached the two elder alicorns. Who did not move in time as the ice reached their hooves. The two alicorns tried moving their hooves, which were stuck in the ice. Yet, as they struggled, the ice began to quickly cover their body. Everypony watched, shocked and stunned as they watched their two rulers become coated by a layer of ice.
"Oh no." Rainbow croaked, as the ice finally covered the alicorns. Freezing them in the positions they last stood. Their expressions of shock and confusion frozen. The ice glimmering in the artificial light.
As the two Princesses were completely frozen in ice, everypony turned to the pegasus. Who gulped as she shakily stood by the door.
Fancypants leapt behind two of his guard ponies.
"Treason! She murdered the Princesses!! Somepony grab her!" He shouted.
The bearers of Harmony looked at Rainbow with a concerned and scared expression. Rainbow Dash gulped as she shakily reached for the door handle.
"Dashie...?" Pinkie muttered before Rainbow swung the door open, and galloped off down the corridor. Leaving a room full of confused, scared and shocked ponies, and two frozen alicorn mares.
Author's Notes:
Next chapter. One of my favourite bits.
Another chapter in the same day?! This chapter was easier as it's a scene with no song. Also, if you're wondering why I froze Luna and Celestia, it's because;
1- Gets them out of the picture.
2- Makes Twilight more important later onAnd, here's a note. Rainbow's ice power can not be changed by pegasi or unicorn magic. It's an unusual magic that can only be controlled by the owner.
And (again), Cadence is not here. I'll mention it later but due to the sudden Winter, the Crystal Empire is stuck. Blocked off by the snow and ice. As it's unchangeable by other magic, Cadence is stuck in her castle.Make sense? I hope so.
Thank you for reading and comment below.
Chapter 8
She was right. All her fears came rushing towards her scared mind. She tried so hard to not hurt anypony. Tears fell out of her eyes as she galloped down the corridor, reaching the large cloud doors.
She pushed them open, making crash to the sides. She gasped as she saw the courtyard filled with ponies. They all cheered as the new Queen appeared.
"There she is."
"Your majesty!"
"Long live the Queen!"
"Queen Rainbow Dash..."
"Come drink with us!"
Rainbow heard all the ponies call out as she ducked through the crowd. Holding her hoof close.
The excited crowd surrounded her, unable to see the panic in the mare's face.
"Queen Rainbow." A stallion bowed in front of the pegasus as she tried moving through.
"Your Majesty? Are you all right?" A sweet mare asked as she held her filly's hoof. She looked concerned as the cyan mare breathed heavily.
Rainbow Dash glanced at the smiling filly and backed away, knowing that she was a danger to the filly. To everyone. She bumped into a cloud fountain spraying out a violet coloured water. As she walked into it, she grabbed it's edge. The water freezing at her touch. Everypony watched as the spraying water froze. The courtyard filled with gasps of fear and shock. The mother backed away, holding her filly close.
A white stallion with slick blue hair appeared at the stairs of the door, along with two guards.
"There she is! Stop her!" He commanded, pointing at the mare.
"Please, just stay away from me. Stay away!" Rainbow begged, putting her hoof up. However, as she did, a blast of ice shot from her hooves. Hitting the staircase, and turning it into ice. Making the guards and Fancypants slip over.
"Monster....Monster!!" Fancypants shouted as he struggled to stand up. The crowd began to panic, backing away from the new Queen. Ignoring the starting snow storm. Rainbow glanced at everyone before fleeing, galloping through the crowd.
"Dashie!!" Pinkie shouted as she and her friends ran up to the open door, followed by Prince Blueblood. They watched as she galloped out of the gates.
~~~
"No. nono." Rainbow quietly cried to herself as she ran, her cloaked swaying behind her, choking slightly as she galloped. She stopped as she reached a lake of liquid rainbow. She couldn't fly far with the cloak on. It would cause drag, and make her fall. She breathed heavily, unable to think.
"Rainbow! Wait, please!!" Her friends called for her from the gates. The pegasus stepped back, the liquid rainbow freezing beneath her hooves. She gasped as she looked down at the ice.
Her friends reached the gate, and saw the pegasus further on. They called for her, but she ignored them.
Rainbow glanced at her friends before stepping further onto the lake. With one finally sigh, she began trotting onto the lake. The liquid freezing beneath her hooves. Quickly, she broke off into a gallop. As she saw the edge of the lake, that lead to a waterfall, she fluttered her wings.
Swiftly, she began to fly. Not as fast as she usually goes, but fast enough. Her cloak was blowing in the breeze, pulling her back slightly. She attempted to take it off, but the buckle was on too tight. She fumbled with it before giving up, and just continued flying.
"Rainbow stop!!" Applejack shouted. Stopping at the frozen lake. But Pinkie continued, slipping on it and falling.
"Pinkie!" Blueblood called, as she slept. Rarity watched with disgust as he galloped to her friend's side.
"No..." Pinkie cried, watching her best friend flying off into the distance. Flying towards the mountains of the Frozen North.
"Look...Cloudsdale..." Fluttershy squeaked, staring as frost and ice coated the cloud city. Twilight trotted to the edge of the clouds, gasping as she saw ice and snow beginning to cover the whole of Equestria.
"Equestria...no..." She whispered, starting to feel cold as snow fell.
~~~~~~
Snow began falling from the ice white clouds. Ponies stared in confusion, catching the snowflakes that fell.
"Snow? It's...snow...in summer." A mare pointed out from the crowd. The remaining Bearers of Harmony moved through the panicking crowd.
"Are you alright?" Prince Blueblood asked the pink earth mare.
Still in shock, she shook her head.
"No..." She muttered, glancing at the falling snow. The two ponies walked behind the group of mares, lead by the last ruler of Equestria.
"Princess!! Princess Twilight!!" A pegasus in white armour fluttered to alicorn, bowing. "News from the Crystal Empire."
Twilight gasped, hoping her brother and sister were not harmed.
"What is it?"
"It's frozen. We've just received a magical scroll from Princess Cadence. The whole of the Empire is frozen." He explained passing the scroll to the Princess, who gasped again as she read it.
Another pegasus flew over.
"Your highness, the snow. The ice. We're unable to change it or manipulate it." The mare frantically pointed at the pegasi in the sky, trying to move the clouds. Yet the clouds stayed put, as stiff as trees.
"They must be resistant to pegasi magic. This is bad." Twilight muttered.
"That means the whole of Equestria will be stuck. Frozen as well." Rarity informed.
Near by, Fancypants fluttered about in fright. Panicking as he trotted around.
"Look! It’s snowing! It’s snowing! And we're unable to change it! The Queen has cursed this land! She must be stopped!" He yelled at the crowd. "She killed the Princesses!! She's a traitor!!" He turned to his thugs behind him. "You have to go after her."
The girls rushed up to frantic unicorn.
"Wait, no!!" Fluttershy shouted. "She's harmless."
"She's a murderer. A traitor. She killed the Princesses." He yelled.
"They're frozen in ice. They're not dead. Asleep in fact." Twilight notified.
"If so, if the Princesses are in a frozen slumber, how are they going to raise the sun and moon? How are we going to have night and day?" He spat.
Twilight Sparkle's eyes widened. She forgot about that. She forgot that now the sun and moon could not rise. Everypony stared at her, waiting for advice. Waiting for the princess to save them. The violet alicorn stood up straight, hardening her expression.
"I shall raise the sun and moon. As ruler of Equestria, I shall try my best to protect you all." She stated. Her friends gasping.
"Twilight! Are you sure? Are you sure you can raise the sun and the moon? You're still new to alicorn magic." Rarity pointed out.
"It's my duty." Twilight sighed. "Even if my magic will grow weaker, I shall continue with my duty as princess."
"And what of the Queen? She's a monster." The Duke hissed.
"Our friend is no monster." Pinkie yelled back at him.
"She's doomed us all. She nearly killed me!" He shouted, being over dramatic.
"You slipped on ice." Blue defended.
"Her ice!!"
"It was an accident. She was scared. She didn't mean it. She didn't mean any of this.... Tonight was my fault. I pushed her. So I'm the one that needs to go after her." Pinkie stepped forward.
"We will all go after her." Rarity, Applejack and Fluttershy said proudly, standing beside Pinkie Pie. They took off their dresses and passed them to a near by guard, who reluctantly took them away. Two pegasi fluttered over to the four brave mares, over hearing their conversation. They were holding scarves, coats, boots and hats to everypony, and decided to give some to the four mares.
"Yes. Fine. Do." Fancypants snorted, as the mares placed on the hats and scarves.
"What?" Blueblood blurted, trotting to Pinkie. "Pinkie Pie, it's too dangerous."
Rarity scoffed as she overheard them.
"I have to. She's my friend."
"Then let me come with you."
"No, Blue. You're needed here. Help Twilight and look after everypony. That's what a Prince is supposed to do." Pinkie explained. The unicorn stared at her, holding her hoof, before nodding.
"Don't worry. We'll get Dashie, and bring her back. Then she'll unfreeze everything."
She was about to leave, but Blueblood kept hold of her hoof.
"Are you sure that you can trust her? I don't want you getting hurt."
"She's my bestest friend. She'll never hurt us." Pinkie reassured, hugging the stallion before waving to him as he walked back inside. The four mares began trotting away towards a hot air balloon. With Princess Twilight following.
"Are you sure you can do this?" She asked, worried for her friends.
"Of course, darling." Rarity smiled, the other three mares climbing into the basket of the balloon. "Rainbow needs us. We'll take the balloon to the Frozen North. We will search for her around there. She can't have gone far. She must be freezing."
"Okay, but be carefully. This snow is dangerous. It's completely resistant to magic. But Rarity, are you girls okay to do this? This is all so new. And to come from Rainbow Dash, this is all strange. Please try and get some answers from her."
"Don't worry, we will. However for you, can you keep an eye on Blueblood? Something is off about him. And I'll have a talk to Pinkie Pie."
"Please do. I know she's crazy, but this is over the top." Twilight watched as her friends sat in the only hot air balloon that wasn't frozen. "Good luck, and be careful."
"We'll see ya later, Twi. With Rainbow along. An this will be all sorted in no time!" Applejack grinned confidently as the basket steadily lifted off the ground. Twilight waved as the balloon floated away.
"Do come back safe, girls." She muttered as she trotted into the castle, fearing for Equestria's safety. And her friends'. The nip of the cold air beginning to cut through her skin. She glanced at ponies trotting around. Scared. She was scared too. Scared that her friends would be in danger. That her friends would die in the cold, or get lost. She was scared that ponies all over Equestria will die because of the sudden winter. Nopony had the chance to prepare. It just happened. Twilight knew that Cloudsdale and pegasi were going to get battered about this, they are the ones who will get the blame. She just hoped on Luna's moon, and Celestia's sun that her friends will sort this out. Before any serious casualties, and any fatalities.
Before Equestria will succumb to the cold.
Author's Notes:
Rainbow is somewhere in the Frozen North but she's not anywhere near the Crystal Empire. She will not see the Crystal Empire, but obviously create her own castle on a mountain somewhere.
Also, I forgot about Discord. Oh well. But if you have any idea how I can use him in the story, that'll be great. I do have an idea, but I might not use it.Next chapter, Rainbow is going to Let It Go....I hope it goes well.
Thank you for reading and comment below.
Chapter 9
The violet mare stared at her mentor. The ice glimmering in the artificial light. The two most powerful ponies in Equestria, frozen in the very spot they last stood. Staring at the pony she looked up to, and gazing at her teacher's fear filled eyes. Her own fear brimming her shaky mind.
Twilight was scared. Scared for Equestria. Scared for her friends. She just hoped that everything will be alright again soon. It always works out in the end. It always does.
However, as she reminiscing of her previous adventures, and hoping, a golden glimmer appeared before her. Startling her. The golden aura reminding her of Celestia. Yet, as she unravelled the scroll. She gasped in hope.
Dear Princess Twilight Sparkle,
I'm absolutely loving the weather. All this deathly cold snow, remarkably fantastic!!
Okay, I lie. It's terrible. I've never been a fan of the cold, but oh well. This weather is definitely bothersome. We're unable to manipulate it. Obviously, being you, you already know the problem.
However, I've recently felt three surges of unusual magic. The first, I believe, was due to the cause of this freezing mess. The other two happened at the same time. I recognise the two, I know that something awful has happened to Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. I sensed their sudden abrupt stop of their magic.
This obviously means that there will not be anyone to raise the sun and moon, except you. I, however, will offer my assistance in raising the sun and moon. If you need any help whatsoever, I will be here. I will stay in Ponyville, helping out (it's what Fluttershy would have wanted me to do). But I am here, after all, we're friends.You're good and chaotic friend,
Discord.P.S. This sudden freeze is going to kill us all (not sounding panicking at all). I'm using my own magic to create supplies for the ponies in the area.
"Discord!! I almost forgot about him!!" She muttered. "Of course. He rose the sun and moon during his reign. He can help." She said aloud, a certain prince overhearing her. He trotted up as she began writing her reply.
"Discord? Isn't he the nuisance of clutter?" He muttered, startling the alicorn.
"Ah! Blueblood! I didn't hear you come in." Twilight squeaked. "Wait, what did you say?"
"A nuisance. Isn't that what he is?" He asked. He knew about Discord, and how he was capable of raising the sun and moon. But he was evil.
"Well, kinda. But he's a friend. And he could help Equestria."
"Help Equestria? But he's a villain. An enemy of Equestria. It wouldn't be very good that the New Princess of Equestria, who has previously saved it many times before, was out-shone by a mere enemy. That wouldn't be very good."
"I don't really care about my status, I just want Equestria to be safe."
"But then leave Discord to help as much as he can with the ponies. You know how dangerous his power is. This could be his chance to take over."
"Nonsense. He said that'll gladly help in raising day and night. He-"
"His magic may cause disruption, Twilight Sparkle. I remember Celestia telling me so when she told me that he was reformed. His magic is still dangerous. By allowing him to raise the Sister's orbs of life, may destroy Equestria. It would be better if the sun and moon was risen by alicorn magic."
Twilight thought for awhile. He was right. It would be better for Equestria if she used alicorn magic. She needed Discord's help, he was a god after all, but he could disrupt the already tainted harmony.
"You're right. I'll tell Discord that his help with the sun and moon are not needed. Ponies need his help with supplies."
As she wrote her reply, Blueblood smiled. Peering over the mare's shoulder. Watching her write.
Dear Discord,
I find it incredibly generous of you to raise the sun and moon. However, I shall take the duty myself. The ponies need you to supply them with food and warmth. Try and keep them okay. I shall inform you of Princess Celestia and Luna's misfortune. They have both been frozen in ice. We're unable to unfreeze them. They were frozen by an unknown magic by Rainbow Dash. The girls have gone to search for her.
Again, I am grateful for your offer. I refuse. And if you dare, try to raise it, I will perform a magic restriction spell on you and place you in the Canterlot dungeons. To freeze and whither away. So, I warn you, do not raise the sun and moon. You will, under my orders as Princess, care for the ponies of Ponyville. And supply them with food.
Thank you.Your Princess,
Twilight Sparkle
"There. Done. I'm glad you pointed that out to me. You have changed, Blueblood." The alicorn smiled at the unicorn. Her eyes glimmering upon the 'innocent' stallion. Who smiled to her, hoping to gain her trust.
"Oh, of course. Your friend showed me my true ways. My horrid, spoilt ways. All I need now is my Pinkie. She's a darling." He grinned. His shining white teeth glimmering in the light, and his blue eyes glowing with happiness.
"Well then. I must go. The sun needs raising sun, and I need rest." Twilight waved as she left the room, tired already. And begging for her friends' safe return.
As she left, she did not notice the grin growing on the prince's face, as he watched the princess shut the doors. Leaving him alone in the cold room. He glanced at the frozen figures of his aunts, walking up to them. He tapped a hoof on the hard ice, grinning.
"Ta ta, Princesses. Your king needs to rid of a queen." He muttered, smirking as he trotted away.
Author's Notes:
Urg. Sorry. I was going to do the song, but I didn't know how to do it. I do now though. The new chapter will be Let It Go, and the girls will stumble into trouble.
And hopefully, the new chapter will be out at the weekend.Thank you for reading this pathetic chapter. And comment insults on my writing below.
Chapter 10
Wind howled around the snow coated mountains. An icy nip lingering in the air. Far off in the distance, hidden behind the mountains, was a frozen city. Stuck within the cold grips of ice.
A small figure walked up a large mountain. Her wings fluttering, and her cloak flowing in the wind. Her cyan wings ached from the flying. Her rainbow fringe was loose and blowing across her face. Her head held low as she slowly made her way up. She wanted to get as far away from everyone. Her secret was out. Now everyone would hate her.
"The snow is glowing white on the mountain tonight." She croaked, glancing at the moon light glimmering on the snow. Hating at how no-one could appreciate the snow and it's beauty. But she hated herself because of it.
"I'm a queen. A queen of an isolated kingdom....why did this have to happen...?"
Rainbow Dash watched as the wind whipped around, the snow violently flying across the grey sky.
"Just like the storm inside of me...I tried. I'm sorry. I tried so hard to protect my friends. I changed myself just to keep others safe...and I couldn't keep it in...heaven knows I've tried."
She remembered her father. A strong stallion, who knew what to do. Who knew what was right. An image of him with a look of complete disappointment brimmed her mind.
"Don't let them in. Don't let them see. Be the good mare you always have to be. Conceal, don't feel. Don't let them know....." She lifted her head. Staring as the wind calmed down, and watched as the snow fell gracefully. Her confidence lit up once again. A confidence that she hadn't felt since she was a filly.
"Well, now they know!!" She stomped her hoof onto the ground with a grin. "I just have to....let it go..."
Rainbow lifted her hoof, noticing her coat was beginning to grow lighter. She grinned as snowflakes appeared from her hoof. Watching it float up in a blue swirl.
"Let it go. Just let it go. I cannot hold it back anymo~ore." The pegasus span around raising her front hooves into the air, one at a time, and letting small sprinkles of snow rise into the sky.
"Turn away and slam the door!" She raised her hooves, the flowing snowflakes falling straight to the ground.
The mare turned around and created a snowpony, the same one she made as a filly.
"I don't care. I don't care anymore, of what they're going to say!! Let this storm rage on!!" She shot pure snow from her hooves, making it twirl and spin around her.
She grinned as she unclasped the gem holding her cape.
"The cold never bothered me anyway!!"
She looked behind her, watching as she let go of the cloak, and let it flow into the wind. Float away from her.
"I can't believe it. I guess, Rarity was right. Some distance does make everything seem small. And my fears that used to control me, that used to boil inside, can't get to me at all!!" She yelled, her voice becoming softer, and smoother. She happily skipped up the mountain, her wings fluttering beside her.
"I'm sorry, father. But it's time to see what I can really do!! To test the limits!! There is no right, or wrong!! No rules!!"
Rainbow Dash stared with hope at her hooves before standing at the edge of a cliff. She smirked as whipped her hooves in an upwards direction. Making a set of frost covered stairs.
"Cause I'm free!!" She placed her hoof onto the first stair, grinning as the frost blasted away. Revealing an elegantly decorated snowflake stair.
"Let it go!!" She cried as she tried up the stairs. Her wings gliding above the banister. The frost flowed away as the pegasus trotted up.
"I am one with the wind and sky again! I just have to let it go!!" She reached to top of the ice staircase. Hovering into the air and performing a flip.
"Nopony will see me cry!! Never again!! I will stand my ground!! Cause here I stand, and here I'll stay!!" She stomped her hooves onto the clear snow ground. A sheet of ice coating it, in the form of a giant snowflake.
"I will let my storm rage on." She bit her lip as she raised her fore-legs again. In a flurry of creative release, she raised the snowflake on ice beams, created walls, archways, a glistening chandelier, and an intricate ceiling that left the sky visible. The pegasus twirled around, waving her fore-legs gracefully as she created a grand palace of ice. Taking care of creating the patterns and making the blue tint glow vibrantly.
"My power will flurry, father!! No matter what you said!! I believe in myself!!"
She now stood in the middle of a large ice room, with a balcony at the front. She stood still, her task of making the beautiful palace complete. Her task of letting her powers exploded into a magnificent display was done.
The pegasus glanced up at the golden crown on her head, and grabbed it. She stared at it before gritting her teeth. She remembered freezing the Princesses earlier. Yet, she pushed it aside. It was only ice. And they were goddesses. They would have burst through the ice as soon as they were frozen.
"I'm never going back. The past is in the past!!" She threw the tiny trinket out of an archway window. Grinning madly as she twirled around, her wings wide open. She grabbed the back of her hair, releasing it and allowing it fall beside her neck in braid. Brushing a hoof through her mane, ruffling it, she waved the other one beside herself.
In a glimmering blue light, white twinkled over her. Her darker cyan coat turning into a lighter shade of blue. Her braided mane, and her half braided tail, now a vibrant shade of white. Her eyes faded from glowing rose pink, to glimmering bright blue. She flapped her wings as she grinned.
"I'll rise like the break of dawn." The mare stated as she strutted onto the balcony. The sky lit up in pinks, oranges and yellows as the sun shakily made it's way into the sky. A beautiful view of the snow capped mountains before her.
"That perfect mare is gone! And here I stand!! And here I shall let the storm rage on!!" She hovered into the air, her fore-legs wide open.
She grinned, finally free of herself. Letting her true spirit go. She left 'Rainbow Dash' behind her. She was leaving the past. She was now free.
"The cold never bothered me anyway." The new pegasus turned around as she slammed the door. A small, calm breeze flowing behind her, with a few snowflakes drifting around her. Ice and snow was at her control. She was a queen. A queen who was free.
Or so she thought.
Author's Notes:
Urgh. This chapter annoyed me. Sorry if it's pathetic.
Notes:- Rainbow's charm kept her physical appearance. With her charm, she looked like 'Rainbow Dash'. Who was a fake personality. She'll explain it in a later chapter.
Again, she cannot see Equestria from her view. Or the Crystal Empire.
No, she will not become an alicorn. No alicorns.Next chapter, the mane four get in a bit of stormy trouble. Leaving one mare to venture by herself, that is until she bumps into two ponies.
