Exposition and uneasy implications

Instead of bringing the book out with her to show the group Twilight told them that she needed to study something and that she’d be back down later when she was done. As she walked into her bedroom she looked at the book again, this was too much, there was no way that something this coincidental actually existed; it just couldn’t. With a resigned sigh Twilight opened the book to the first page.

Welcome to the first page of ‘When dealing with mysterious Enemies’ this book was put together to help those who are in dire striates and have nowhere else to turn. As the editor of this book I am very aware of the fact that this book probably looks far to coincidental to exist under whatever circumstances that you happen to be bogged down in, but trust me that’s part of the book’s magic. This book utilizes a system where everything that you need to find can be easily found by using the index, the index will then send you to another index which will either send you to another index or it will send you to the corresponding page. For example if you are looking for a mysterious black coated group then you would look for the black coat index, then you would survey the index for the tropes associated with the group that you are after. Once you recognize enough similar tropes you are ready to go to the page number which lists all of the known black coated groups, once there you simply see which matches the most tropes. From there you go to the page of the group that you have identified which should give you all the appropriate information to solve whatever problem you may be confronted with. If this is your first time hearing the word trope, it is a term used to describe something or someone that can be universally recognized.Warning this book is protected by extremely strong magic, any attempts to tamper with any of the print will be automatically deleted, furthermore thanks to several spells the book had been condensed so that it looks like a normal sized book, in actuality the book contains well over several trillion pages

When she was done reading the editors note Twilight rubbed her head trying to clear it, this book was impossible, but she found herself drawn to it as if by some magic force. She flipped to the second page and was confronted by an incredibly long index.

This is the index index, this is mostly just a formality but it helps you find an index page if you already know what index you are looking for, if this doesn’t apply to you turn to page five for the real index.

Twilight was enthralled; this book was set up exactly as she would have set it up if she were the writer. She flipped to page five and scanned her way through the huge index that took up several pages before she landed on the subject index for transdimensional travelers; that seemed a likely place to start.

The transdimensional travelers are people or things that come from a completely different dimension and can come in two specific types, the friendly ones and the unfriendly ones. The friendly ones typically have no idea how they ended up where they are and in most cases will befriend most people that they come across. The unfriendly are for the most part extremely dangerous and know exactly what they are doing in your dimension. They normally have extremely intricate plans that are very hard to understand from the outside and will often attempt to harm you. Unfortunately for the friendly ones when they come across they often bring the unfriendly ones with them. For the index on friendly transdimensional travelers please turn to page 959, for the index on unfriendly transdimensional travelers turn to page 969.

Twilight pondered which index she should turn to, she was eager to see of the index had anything about Shepard, but she also didn’t want to waste time that could be better used looking up their enemies. In the end she decided to compromise, she would look at first one and then the other. She decided to start out with the index on friendly travelers. The first several pages were taken up by beings who use portals including a group from somewhere called Midkemia, then an exceedingly long part of the index was given over to those used devices or vehicles. A large part of that section was taken up by a group oddly called the Dr. Twilight continued to read until she landed upon the index labeled rebirth.

Rebirth makes up a surprisingly large amount of travelers, most that go through the process have no idea how it happened or what caused it, as far as their universe is concerned they should be dead. There are many reasons for rebirth most of which include the meddling of gods from different dimensions who couldn’t stand to watch the traveler be killed off for real. In some cases the traveler may not remember anything about their past lives except for an aching desire to remember their past, if this is the case be prepared to listen to them moan and bitch about it every second of every day. For tropes associated with those who have lost their memory turn to page 1001.

Twilight frowned, that didn’t sound like Shepard who remembered all of his past and was almost never melancholy.

If you are lucky enough to get one who remembers his past completely then turn to page 1003 for the tropes associated with that.

Ok that sounds like Shepard, Twilight thought to herself as she turned to pg1003. Twilight did so and soon began matching up the tropes that she thought of when she thought about Shepard, she then turned to the page where you matched tropes. She skipped past someone called Master Chief, someone called Gordon Freeman, and several others before she stumbled upon a picture of someone who looked remarkably like Shepard.

Commander Shepard can be many things that are decided by which dimension he hails from, some Shepards may be ruthless killers while others will be honest soldiers who just want the universe to be fixed for five minutes, although they aren’t above extreme feats of badass. Shepard has recently been appearing everywhere from Equestria to that of Fallout thanks to the way that he is destined to be killed within every version of his own universe. In most cases his crew will join him and under extremely negative circumstances so will his major enemies such as Cerberus, if you are reading this then they are most likely the ones to blame for any current hardships that you are facing, their page may be found on Pg 1029.

Twilight was shocked, there was an on Equestria putting her current predicament to the back of her mind if only just for a minute Twilight folded down the page that she was on before returning to the main index until she found the index entry labeled Equestria. Twilight turned to the page known as the main Equestrian index.

There are several versions of Equestria all of which are occupied by talking ponies who can typically fly or use magic, however up until recently the dimensions of Equestria were ignored thanks to the fact that nobody could stand to be there for more than a minute. Recently however a new group of dimensions were added, the main players of these dimensions are known collectively as the Mane Six. The Mane Six are made up of Twilight Sparkle who is an incredibly powerful magic user, Pinkie Pie who is a dimensional traveler who shows a blatant disregard for the laws of reality among other things…Rarity who is very generous and depending on the universe kind of a whore, Applejack who is a hard working farm pony, Rainbow Dash who has the odd ability to set off sonic booms which result in rainbows, for whatever reason. Lastly is Fluttershy who is extremely skilled with animals and has the ability to out stare a dragon and several other things, it is advised not to try and outstare her, it may result in aneurisms. The Mane Six are typically lorded over by the duel Princesses Celestia and Luna, Celestia may be honest kind and powerful, or lustful, tyrannical, and evil. Her sister Luna however is almost always on the side of good and most often plays a role as a woobie. For more information on Equestria turn to page 2003

Twilight set the book down in shock, her universe had just been summed up very neatly, if somewhat snarkily by a book, she wasn’t sure whether to be surprised or terrified. Instead of turning to the page directed Twilight quickly turned back to her marker and proceeded to turn to the entry one Cerberus.

Cerberus is a pro human terrorist group from the Mass Effect universe; they have been recently confirmed to be completely evil and will do almost anything to raise humanities’ galactic standing. Their leader The Illusive Man is a determined and intelligent individual who is not to be challenged lightly except by Commander Shepard and even then it is ill-advised. If Shepard has come to your dimension, especially through the process of rebirth, then Cerberus have most likely followed him and are the ones making your life miserable. Unfortunately if you are reading this while looking for their current plot then I can supply no further information as it would make your life far too easy, the rest of this page will appear blank…

Twilight sighed, so they knew who they were fighting but not what their motives or plans were, this was going to be a long day. Pinkie who had been watching her friend read the book from another dimension giggled to herself, things were getting good. Then she turned to the readers and winked, it was going to be a good day to be pink.

AN
In case you aren’t you missed it the book is essentially a low tech version of TV Tropes, blame Pinkie.
