PROLOGUE: A Second Chance

I watched the clock tick, closer and closer to 12-12-12. My hands shook, I didn't believe that the world would truly end, but somehow it still bothered me. I guess it was all the hype about how each day is one of your last...

10 seconds...

I laid back, waiting for nothing, and go on with my day.

7 seconds...

Oh this is gonna be good.

5 seconds...

Still waiting...

3 Seconds...

I can't wait to brag to my friends how I was right and they weren't.

1 Second...

I closed my eyes and smiled to myself, when I opened them, I nearly had a heart attack. Nothing happened or was happening, literally, nothing was around me. It was completely white.

"Hello?" I shouted out. I guess... I guess I was wrong. I laughed to myself, was I in Heaven, or Hell? Guess I'll find out soon.

"You got rid of a great evil that could have destroyed my creation." A booming voice said.

"Gah! What the hell?" I said, cringing at the loud voice that echoed.

"Hell... my least favorite creation. At least it keeps the evil souls away while those with pure of heart will stay with me. I have other... things to attend to, so lets make this quick." The voice boomed.

"G-God?" I said, "Seriously?" I was talking to God! Cool...

"You have three choices. Heaven, Hell, or anywhere of your choi-"

I felt like I was going to Hell for this, but I interupted God mid-speech. He didn't seem to mind at all actually.

"You said I rid of a great evil?" I asked, scratching my head.

"Do you not recall The Lunar Events?"

It suddenly hit me. I shuddered, terrible... terrible days. My head was hanging low, I felt terrible for what I did to Luna... but she put the universe at stake. I looked up and nodded.

"So you do... Luna has returned to Equestria I must say, she is very happy."

I was confused. Celestia sent her away in The Banishment... that's why it was called "The Banishment."

"Huh?" I was really confused, so many things swirling around my head.

"Celestia took Luna's transportation powers that held the connection between your world, and theirs." The voice boomed, answering my question.

"Ooh..." I said, I got an idea. I looked up with an evil smile on my face.

"I know where I would like to go..." I grinned.

"I will no longer watch over you, but if you die too soon, I will give you another chance. The horse spirits watch over you in Equestria, keep that in mind."

I nodded, I knew what to do when I arrived.

"Before you do that, I want you to send me to wherever Luna is. I just want to... talk to her." I said, I was... somewhat lying. I've spent a lot of years lying, but this was my greatest challenge. Lying to God, himself, wow...

"Very well then. Good luck, and I hope you're happy with your new life." And with that, the voice stopped, I felt myself drop on all fours, I closed my eyes suddenly, I tried to open them but when I did...

I was in Equestria... I heard a faint whisper in my ear.

"Keep in mind, this is a later time, a much later time after your world ended. In reality, you have been talking to me for months."
