"No!" Nexus shouted as Sombra reformed.

Ephialtes slammed into the cave wall, leaving a where he hit. The purple aura flowed from his eyes as he hit the ground with a sickening thud. Nexus started rolling back and forth on his back as Sombra overlooked his handy work. With one hard push of his weight, Nexus rolled over onto his left foreleg. He felt the sharp pain of severed electrical bonds in the leg as nervous system connectivity was reestablished.

He let out a shout of pain. This alerted Sombra. He turned and watched with a smiled as Nexus grunted through the pain and started to move his foreleg again. He looked back to his right foreleg that was still locked up at the knee. With all the force he could muster, he punched the back of the knee joint and felt it break free of whatever had it blocked again.

"You are a dog aren't you? Fighting until the bitter end with no sense of reason." Sombra taunted as Nexus slowly rose on his damaged legs.

Nexus didn't respond, he was too busy bleeding to think clearly as he knelt from the head rush. He was in desperate need of a hospital and surgery. Just looking himself over, he knew how this was going to end. Sombra wasn't going to waste any magic on him; he was going to simply slash his throat. He'd failed. Why was he even standing? Was it out of some depraved sense of self image that he not die lying down? If he was so comfortable with his upcoming demise, why was he trying to get up and fight more? His forelegs gave out from his weakened mind. He did what he could to keep his face from eating dirt.

'He's right, this isn't honorable, this is just sad. I failed. I'm sorry Celestia, Luna, Dust-' A sudden surge of life overcame him at just the thought of her. Her beautiful voice, her soft mane and her bright blue eyes.

"I'm not without a purpose Sombra." Nexus said as he slowly started to straighten up from his bowing position. "None of us are without our reason to fight." Nexus' eyes started to glow bright blue and the so did the stone around him. "I may die here Sombra, but by Faust's regal daughters, if I die, it's for my family and the ones I love." Around him, the Elements started to glow different colors and roll towards each of Nexus' friends. At the same time, each of them lost the glow around their eyes and started to rise as well.

That was it; Knight was done being thrown around. He'd been beaten for years, over shadowed by everyone. Now it was his turn. He slowly got to his hoofs both in his vision and the real world. His vision of Sombra shifted and so did the lighting. He was staring where he had thought his friends were lying dead. Nexus stood as tall as he could and the metal on his chest was starting glow.

"If I die, it's for my family and the ones I love." Nexus said.

"If I die, it'll be fighting for those that can't fight for themselves." Knight said aloud as a glowing white orb of stone rolled to his hoofs.

"If I die, it's for my family and the ones I love." Nexus' voice called out from the darkness.

Hestaria shoved Ephialtes out of the way and kicked Sombra back away from her with the most powerful buck she could muster.

"Pain isn't what cripples me Sombra." She said triumphantly. "No matter how dark you make my world, he's with me until I die." Sombra turned back to where Nexus was now standing as a hunk of stone rolled towards her glowing yellow.

"If I die, it'll be fighting for those that can't fight for themselves." Knight said off to her right.

"And if I die, it'll be for a brighter tomorrow for all." Hestaria said as a ball of stone rolled to her hoofs glowing yellow.

But whatever she would do, she was sure of one thing. If Tiber died, she'd still have the courage to continue. A sudden pain shot through her head. Her eyes snapped shut as she fell to her knees.

"You insolent little foal!" Chrysalis and Tiber shouted at her. "Why will you not surrender?!"

Silver knew wasn't completely sure of what was happening, but she could tell that this was all a trick.

"If I die, it's for my family and the ones I love." Nexus said in an echo.

Silver started to rise to her hoofs, fighting harder against the pain. She squinted and could see the illusion Sombra had created start to fall away. Sombra in reality stood in in between her and Nexus, who seemed to be glowing.

"If I die, it'll be fighting for those that can't fight for themselves." Knight said to her far left.

"And if I die, it'll be for a brighter tomorrow for all." Hestaria said to her left but much closer.

"If I die, it's to give help those afraid to channel their fear." Silver said seeing a stone orb roll to her hoofs, all the while it glowing dark orange.

They seemed so real, but he knew they weren't. He shot Sombra, he's been fighting the changelings for months now and he wasn't a traitor.

"You're wrong Sombra." he said as Sombra looked away from him and started to glide back away from him just as the world started to change back into what he knew was reality. "I don't give up. I didn't give up, and I won't."

"If I die, it's for my family and the ones I love." Nexus said as the world came back into focus.

"If I die, it'll be fighting for those that can't fight for themselves." Knight said.

Nexus stood proud as he stared Sombra right in the eyes. Looking death in the face and not even flinching.

"And if I die, it'll be for a brighter tomorrow for all." Hestaria said with determination.

"If I die, it's to help those afraid to channel their fear." Silver said standing next to him only a few feet away.

"If I die, it's give the will to go on to those who don't have it in themselves." Thunder said as a stone ball rolled up to him glowing mint green.

"But he's my friend. And more over he's a soldier fighting alongside me. I don't turn my back on my friends and if they can't fight, I'll do everything in my power to fight for them." Ephialtes said.

"That has never been an order." His father told him.

"Yeah, but I've never been good at following those have I, Sombra?" The image of his father faded as the world turned itself on its side. Sombra stood facing the crashed ship where Nexus was busy glowing.

Ephialtes was the last to stand and said his own reason to fight after the others. "If I die, it's for those fighting alongside me." The Element rolled to his feet glowing bright purple.

Sombra was astonished, nopony had ever broken his spell before, even as powerful as he was now.

"You see Sombra, we're not soldiers of Luna, we're soldiers of a new day. A day that is free of you." Nexus said as the orbs floated up to his friend's chests.

An azure stream of light flowed from the rocks around him. The streaks flowed into his body and the broken metal started to reform. The split sides rejoined and a new stone began to form. The orbs even started to break apart and reform on the chests of his friends. As they did, they formed a unique metal: Ephialtes' stone was a purple swirl, Hestaria's was a yellow crescent moon with a lance through the middle, Knight's was a white shield with a yellow sun and blue moon on either side, Thunder's was a bright green lightning bolt and Silver Bit's was an elongated orange hexagon with a silver hammer in the center.

"This can't be happening. I ensured you were no longer the Element of Honor!" Sombra screamed in rage. His look of rage suddenly turned to worry as his own hoof started to slowly move up to the amulet.

The six of them began to glow powerfully along with the cave around them. Nexus' wounds healed and his eyes turned a bright white. Sombra shouted in agony as he did everything in his power to try and stop his hoof but it was too late. He ripped the Alicorn Amulet from his neck. Four clear crystals shout out of the ground and grabbed the amulet. All six of them started to levitate as Sombra tried to use his shadow morphing powers to escape. Every direction he went he was shot back in by a bolt of lightning and was eventually held into place via white energy chains that came from the ground.

“In the name of the Great Mother of Day and Night," All six of them started to chant. "into chains of light thou art cast for the sins of thy past. You shall pay for thy crimes of fear, until dawn of the thousandth year.”

Waves of multicolored magic weaved its way between all of them and eventually made its way to Nexus' Element. From the Element, a long silver blade came. Its ebony hilt didn't glow, but the crescent moon of the guard did. The golden inlays shone brighter. The lines forming Nexus' cutie mark near the guard.

"May Faust's mercy be limited." Nexus said as he sent the blade forward, into the amulet. The blade passed through it and into Sombra's chest.

Arcs of electricity pulsed through the blade and into Sombra. No amount of pain was spared for him. He howled in agony as he was forced into shadow form and sucked into the amulet. He shouted that he will return to end it but they were ignored by all as they held the field, closing it as Sombra's essence was absorbed into the amulet. When the deed was done, the crystals vanished and the amulet hit the floor along with the cavalry sword.

Everyone else landed on their hoofs and stayed steady, but Nexus, drained and exhausted, fell to his side and passed out from the mass amount of magic he'd just exerted.

Me: Not exactly. He's alive, just imprisoned.

Me: So you can't be overpowered for a LONG time.
