Chapter 1: Moving back

“You’re leaving?” a girl with short brown hair with a blue headband looked at Rainbow Dash as she flew down to her. She was Belle Celle, one of the girl’s flight camp friends. She had a pair of tan wings Rainbow Dash had a pale blue pair. Belle smiled at her friend as she turned to them. Rainbow Dash looked at her.
“Don’t worry,” she said as Belle’s parents walked over. “I’ll be back,” She grabbed her jacket and put it on. Her wings poked through the holes on the back and she smiled as her parents took off. Their wings spread wide and had a lot of power with every flap. “See you in a few years!” She bent her legs and shot up in the air. Even for a small girl, her wings had a lot of power. Rainbow Dash went after her and flew with her until she was out of Ponyville limits.
“Bye Belle!” shouted Rainbow Dash. Belle waved back at her and hurried to catch up with her parents.
~~~
“Dash!” A girl with rainbow colored hair to her shoulders turned and was collided into by one of her best friends, Pinkie Pie. “Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh! Can you believe it, Rainbow Dash?!” shouted Pinkie Pie jumping in front of Rainbow Dash. The girl watched the girl bounce up and down like usual. Fluttershy walked over with her wings dropped down at her back.
“What’s wrong Pinkie?” asked Applejack walking over with her brother. Big Mac looked over at Fluttershy who in response began to hide behind Rainbow Dash who sighed. Fluttershy blushed as Big Mac caught her staring at him.
“Dash, is that you!” said a voice causing Rainbow Dash to look up. She saw a girl with short brown with a blue headband with a boy next to her. Her hair was pulled back in a stubby ponytail. She wore a pair of black shorts and blue tank under a black jacket. She wore glasses as well. It took Rainbow Dash a little while to recognize her.
“Belle Celle!” shouted Rainbow Dash. Her wings popped out and she shot at Belle. Fluttershy gasped and flew after her. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy stopped in front of Belle. “Why are you back?!”
“Well thank you so much for your concern,” sad Belle crossing her arms. Rainbow Dash stuck her tongue out and Belle caught sight of Fluttershy right as Rainbow Dash caught sight of the boy who was looking down at the others as Twilight Sparkle and Spike came over with Rarity. “Who are you?” asked Belle.
“I’m Flutter....” said Fluttershy before blushing and flying off. Belle looked at Rainbow Dash who was still looking at the boy. He had emerald green eyes and navy blue hair that looked windblown. His wings looked like a pale blue. He wore goggles on his head like a headband, a pair of jeans, a blue tee shirt, and black shoes. He looked back up at Rainbow Dash. Both seemed unaware of Belle who was waving her hand in front of Rainbow Dash’s face.
“Dash, Dash, DASH!” shouted Belle in Rainbow Dash’s ear before she finally came into reality.
“Yes, Belle?” asked Rainbow Dash glancing at the boy who was looking elsewhere.
“Who was that?” asked Belle pointing after Fluttershy.
“Fluttershy,” said Rainbow Dash. “I’ll go get her,” Rainbow Dash flew after her friend and Belle turned to the boy as they descended towards the Earth.
“So Spitfire wants you to stay with me, because your attitude with her about practice on your father’s birthday?” said Belle as they landed on the ground. “Who are you guys?” The boy saw Applejack who was trying to calm down Pinkie Pie.
“Hey you’re the girl I bought that apple pie from at the gala!” said the boy walking over to Applejack. “I’m Soarin,”
“So what’s your name?” asked Pinkie Pie.
“Soarin,” said Soarin, of the Wonderbolts.
“What’s your name?” stressed Pinkie Pie.
“Umm Pinkie, darling,” said Applejack, “He’s Soarin’ from the Wonderbolts, that’s his actual name,”
“Ohhhhhhhh,” said Pinkie Pie, “Hi I’m Pinkie Pie, that’s Applejack, Rarity, Twilight Sparkle, the little guy is Spike, and those two that flew off were Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy!” Pinkie Pie bounced away and Spike sighed.
“That’s Pinkie for you,” said Twilight Sparkle.
“Hey where’d Pinkie Pie go?” asked Rainbow Dash as she landed next to Applejack. Fluttershy landed only to hide behind Rainbow Dash and Applejack. Big Mac grabbed his sister’s wrist and dragged her back to the orchard.
“Where are we going Big Mac?” asked Applejack. Fluttershy got out from behind Rainbow Dash as Big Mac and Applejack disappeared towards the farm.
“Well,” said Twilight Sparkle, “I’m going to go hit the books,”
“Hitting books hurts...” whispered Fluttershy. Twilight raised an eyebrow and Fluttershy gasped and ran off.
“Gosh Fluttershy,” said Rainbow Dash. “Hey Belle let’s go eat some cupcakes,” Rainbow Dash grabbed Belle and dragged her. Soarin sighed.
“I’m coming,” said Soarin following after them.
“I’ll come as well,” said Rarity walking next to Soarin. Twilight and Spike walked back towards the library.
Rainbow Dash and Belle managed to run into Fluttershy as Soarin and Rarity walked up. They walked towards the sweet shop when Belle remembered something.
“Soarin, we have to go to my house!” said Belle as she began to float. “We have to unpack remember?” Soarin nodded and the two took off towards the clouds. Rarity, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy entered the sweet shop and saw down at a table with four raised chairs. Pinkie Pie came over with a plate of cup cakes.
“Who was that guy?” asked Rainbow Dash. Fluttershy was curious as well. Both grabbed a cup cake with an apple slice on top.
“Soarin from Wonderbolts,” said Pinkie eating a cupcake.
“WHAT!” shouted Rainbow Dash? “No wonder he looked familiar!” She blushed remembering his eyes and watching Rarity fall from the sky and managing to knock four of the Wonderbolts unconscious.
~~~
Twilight Sparkle was writing a letter to the Princess with Spike moaning about eating so much in the background. She had just signed her name and was rolling up the scroll when the bell rang. She got up pushing a strand of dark hair. She wrapped a ribbon around the scroll and sat it on the table. She walked over to the door and opened it up. There stood a man who looked maybe a few years older than her. He had a bag in his hand, his brown hair was spiked and he had pale grayish-blue eyes. He looked up at Twilight and smiled.
“Um a boy named Spike called me,” he said.
“Spike called you?” said Twilight moving aside and letting him in. “I told him he just ate too much ... when did he call you?”
“About five minutes ago,” said the man, “I’m Doctor Whooves,” She raised an eyebrow. He looked way too young to be a doctor. “And I’m only 19,” he conformed, embarrassed.
“You’re two years older than me? And you’re a doctor?” asked Twilight as they headed up towards Spike. He nodded and smiled. Twilight smiled and she knocked on Spike’s room. “Hey Spike, the doctor’s here,”
“Ok,” Spike moaned from inside. “Come in,” Spike was upside down on his bed. His green hair was spiked in a Mohawk and his dragon wings were obvious and his tail was off the bed as well. Spike did in fact look sick. Sick enough that he didn’t want to cover up his wings and tail like usual. Doctor Whooves walked over and felt Spike’s forehead. Twilight ran downstairs and grabbed the scroll. She ran back upstairs.
“Can you move for a second Doctor Whooves?” asked Twilight walking over. He moved and Twilight held the scroll in front of Spike’s face. Spike blew fire and the scroll disappeared. “I’m going to go get some more scrolls and quills. Can you watch him for a little bit, Dr. Whooves?”
“Sure,” said Whooves, “But please just call me Whooves,” Twilight smiled and closed the door. Spike listened for the front door to close before he looked at Whooves and said.
“Gross man,”
Twilight Sparkle came back carrying a load of baskets filled to the brim with scrolls and quills. Her hair was pulled back into a messy ponytail. Whooves was reading a book about herbs at her desk. “I’m back,” she muttered as she put the baskets on another desk. She began to put them up. Whooves walked over to the door and smile.
“I’ll come over tomorrow to check on him, make sure he’s healthy, since I gave him medicine,” she smiled and nodded. He walked out throwing his bag over his shoulder. She walked over and closed the door behind him. Pinkie Pie randomly popped in the room.
“Hey Twilight!” said Pinkie Pie. “Do you have any comic books?”
“I have manga books,” said Twilight pulling a volume of Naruto from the shelf. “Is that ok?”
“No those things are backwards! I don’t want to have to look in the mirror to have to read it...” shouted Pinkie Pie. “Ugh I’ll have to go to the book store!” She stomped out the door and Twilight sighed.
“But they aren’t backwards...” said Twilight taking her hair down.
~~~
Applejack fell asleep under a tree and was woken up by a shake to the shoulders. She snapped awake and looked up at the boy with the light brown hair. He wore a yellow shirt and a grayish-yellow jacket with three blue hooves the back. He had holes in his jeans and a scratch on his cheek. She couldn’t really make out of the face because he stood right in front of the sun but didn’t cover it all so she couldn’t see. She closed her eyes and held a hand in front of her eyes.
“You ok Applejack?” She recognized his voice right away. Of course, she thought, it just has to be him. Caramel cocked his head at her causing more light to fall on her face. He moved it back as she threw her other arm over her face. Caramel has been coming over since she was young because he was her brother’s best friend. She tried to get up but her legs failed her and he caught her arm. He helped her up and she opened her eyes once a shadow crossed her face. She saw she had fallen asleep in the furthest area from her house.
“Why are you here?” asked Applejack looking at his face which was blocking her eyes from the sun. She felt tightness in her chest and passed it off for exhaustion.
“Apple Bloom and Mac were searching for you and your sister asked me to come and see if you were here since Mac was checking the middle fields and Bloom was checking the fields closest to the house,” explained Caramel. Applejack walked over to the crate of apples near where she was sleeping and picked one up easily. Caramel picked up the other and they walked towards the house in silence. Applejack started dozing off. She then snapped awake and nearly fell asleep again. “Ok give me the basket,” he said putting his down. She looked at him as she put hers down.
“I can get it!” she snapped crossing her arms. She began to tap her foot as she fought to keep her eyes open.
“Obviously not, if your falling asleep while carrying it,” said Caramel. Applejack looked at him before looking at the ground. She couldn’t understand why he was caring so much about her. She looked back up at him.
“Ok, Caramel, I’m pretty sure I can carry it the rest of the way without falling asle...” She fell forward and Caramel caught her as her cheek landed on his chest. Caramel sighed and managed to get the sleeping girl on his back. He then stacked one basket on to another and was debating on balancing the baskets on his head so he could still hold the girl when two arms wrapped around his chest and their fingers enlaced together. He grabbed her legs and pushed her further up his back before picking up the baskets. Applejack’s long blonde hair fell on Caramel’s shoulder as he walked down the hill. He’d stop ever once in a while to put her further up his back so she wouldn’t fall off.
“Caramel did you find her?” called Big Mac.
“Shh,” warned Caramel. Big Mac ran over. “Take the baskets, your stronger than me,” his best friend ran over and took the apple baskets and Caramel placed his hands on Applejack’s knees and kept her balanced on his back.
“What exactly happened?” asked Mac.
“She fell asleep from exhaustion under an apple tree, I woke her up and we headed back and then fell asleep while we were arguing but luckily she didn’t have the baskets in her hands,” said Caramel. Mac nodded and they headed towards the house. Once they reached there, Applejack had nuzzled into Caramel’s back and her mouth was slightly open. “Where’s her room Bloom?” asked Caramel. The youngest sister bounced up the stairs to the porch and opened up the front door.
“Up the stairs, first door on the left!” whispered Bloom really fast before closing the door again. Caramel nodded and did his best not to let Applejack’s leg hit the rail. He opened the door and walked into Applejack’s bedroom. It was simple with orange and white checkered wallpaper. He gently unhooked Applejack’s fingers from around his chest and gently placed a hand behind her neck and on her waist. He sat her down gently and Applejack immediately curled up in a ball. He took off his jacket and placed it around her. Big Mac walked in and kissed his sister’s forehead like he usually does and shooed his friend out of the room. Caramel stared at the door as Mac walked downstairs. Caramel turned and followed his friend.
Caramel walked home looking at the ground the entire time. He really wished he wasn’t so self conscious of his feels. Lucky always told him he needed to suck up and tell them how he felt about the middle child. He liked Applejack ... a lot. Ever since they were kids and he saw Applejack kicking trees knocking apples into buckets. She’d then put the basket on the wagon and go on towards the next tree. She’d happily hum as she kicked trees and never seemed fazed. He smiled and chuckled as he remembered the day he met Applejack.
“Hmm, hmm, hm-hm-hmm,” hummed Applejack as she skipped towards a tree pulling a wagon behind her. She gave it a strong kick and the apples fell into the basket. Caramel watched her from behind the tree. He was looking for Mac and saw the trees rattling so he came over hoping to find his best friend. He was going to move to another tree but there was a strong voice behind him.
“What are you doing, Caramel?” he turned and saw Mac behind him crossing his arms.
“Who’s that?” asked Caramel pointing to Apple Jack.
“Oh that’s right,” said Mac as the two boys watched Applejack. “You haven’t been here before, come out behind the tree,” Caramel did as told and they walked towards Applejack. “Hey Applejack,” The girl looked, bolted towards them, and soon was on top of Caramel.
“Who is this?!” asked Applejack glaring daggers at Caramel who was locked in place with her hands on his wrists and her knees locking his shoulders to the ground.
“Hey Mac,” said Caramel, “Please get her off of me...” Mac grabbed Applejack’s collar and pulled her off of Caramel. Caramel stood up.
“Applejack, meet Caramel,” said Mac, “Caramel this is my little sister, Applejack. Now Apple, don’t hurt him ok, he’s my best friend,” Applejack looked Caramel up and down and smiled at him holding out her hand.
“Ya seem nice now that I’ve got a good look at ya!!” said Applejack. “Nice to meet you!” Caramel smiled and took her hand shaking it.
Applejack woke up from her sleep to find her in her house with a jacket over her chest area. She sat up and saw it was Caramel’s. He must have carried her inside after she fell asleep during their argument. It still felt warm. She’ll go over to his house today and give it to him. She got up and changed into a new pair of jeans and a new shirt with three red apples in the corner on. She pulled her hat on walked downstairs grabbing the jacket. She headed towards the door. She stopped putting the jacket on the doorknob to put on her cowboy boots.
She walked downstairs putting on the jacket and saw Granny Smith in her chair. She walked over and kissed Granny Smith’s cheek. She ruffled her little sister’s hair and then ran outside. She looked around for a brother but couldn’t find him. She guessed he was in the fields so she ran off the property towards Ponyville.
Pinkie Pie bounced towards the cake shop to get stuff ready for the party to celebrate Belle’s arrival in Ponyville. Since she wasn’t paying attention to where she was going, she ran into someone. She looked up and saw a boy with white hair above her. He had gold eyes as well. She glared at him. This was the only boy she had ever hated.
“Pinkie,” he said bored.
“Pokey,” she snapped back. He smirked down at her and held out a hand. She raised an eyebrow but grabbed his wrist. He pulled her up. Once she got her balance, she let go and he walked off. She huffed and felt a presence behind her.
“Hey Pinkie Pie,” she turned and saw Belle and Soarin walking towards her. Pinkie Pie smiled brightly even though for her attitude towards Pokey. Belle raised an eyebrow.
“Hey Belle, hey Soarin,” she said happily bouncing towards them. “You guys are invited to my party!” She handed them an invitation and skipped off. Belle opened it and turned to Soarin.
“Want to go?” asked Belle.
“Well of course,” said Soarin. “I’ve never missed a party before!” Belle sighed as she followed her friend.
Meanwhile, Pinkie Pie walked out of the cake shop carrying five cakes. Twilight Sparkle and Spike walked up. Spike was looking better because his wings and tail were tucked away in his clothes like normal. Pinkie Pie saw them and smiled.
“Would you guys carry these cakes to the party?” asked Pinkie Pie. “I’ve got to go hand out the invitations!” She handed Twilight the cakes before running off. Twilight and Spike looked at each other before dividing the cakes between the two and walking off towards Pinkie’s house.
“We could just use magic,” said Spike as his wings popped out. He flew towards Pinkie Pie’s house and Twilight concentrated and the two cakes she was holding floated from her hands. She followed her assistant to Pinkie’s house.
Pinkie Pie was handing out invitations and then blowing up balloons for the people she was giving invites too. She then got to a house with blue sides and a white roof. She walked up to the door and knocked. She played with the end of her skirt as she waited for the person to answer the door. She sighed and turned and walked down the steps. She heard the door open.
“What do you want?” she turned and saw Pokey leaning against his door frame playing with a pencil. He swirled it around his fingers. He still wore his jeans but it looked like he had just gotten out of the shower because his hair flopped in front of his face and was straight instead of its normal wave. However he didn’t wear a shirt and Pinkie was trying her best not to look.
“I just came to give you your invitation to the party celebrating Belle’s arrival,” said Pinkie handing him the invitation. He looked at it as she turned leave.
“Hey Pink,” she turned back towards him as she reached the bottom step. He froze for a second at the glare he could see forming in her eyes. He remember popping balloons at that girl’s party. Pinkie was probably mad at him for that. “I promise I won’t pop any balloons,” He smiled and Pinkie felt herself smile back. Pokey went back into his house and Pinkie headed to Rarity’s house.
Pokey sighed and placed the invitation on the coffee table. He went upstairs to dry his dripping wet hair. He got ready and headed to the living room and saw Pinkie picking up the invitation. She opened it up and looked at it.
“Are you uninviting me?” asked Pokey. Pinkie turned and jumped as she saw him.
“No I was seeing if I gave you the wrong invitation,” replied Pinkie really fast.
“I have a question, how’d you get in here?” asked Pokey crossing his arms. Pinkie smiled and skipped towards the kitchen. He followed her and saw she was gone. “How does she do that?” He sighed and grabbed his jacket that had a safety pin on the arm. He got it from his parents and he had no idea why they got him the one with a safety pin on it. He headed towards Pinkie’s house.
~~~
Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash walked into Pinkie’s house to find everyone dead silent. Belle was up on stage playing a beautiful solo on the flute. Her fingers moved between notes elegantly that there was no gap of an annoying sound in between. The tone wavered but it was beautiful. When she stopped the crowd cheered. She put the flute away then got off the stage to dance along with the crowd as regular music came on. Rainbow Dash saw Spike and Twilight talking Doctor Whooves who seemed to be checking Spike’s temperature.
Soarin was next to Applejack, Caramel, Big Mac, and Belle. Fluttershy gasped and disappeared into the crowd but Dash didn’t notice. Applejack saw her and walked over to her. Applejack grabbed her hand and dragged her to the group.
“Where’s Fluttershy?” asked Applejack as they walked over.
“I have no idea, she’s here,” said Rainbow Dash. She looked at Soarin and smiled. “You must be Soarin,”
“Yes I am,” said the navy haired boy, “And you must be Rainbow Dash, I remember you now,” Rainbow Dash smiled as a song came on.
“Come on Dash,” said Applejack. Applejack pulled her into the crowd. The other girls met them there and they started dancing in the middle of the crowd. Rarity had on an elegant dress so she was trying her best not to touch anyone so she doesn’t get her dress dirty.

Dear Princess,
It is your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle. Our friendship is tighter than ever. I’ve noticed that some of the girls act different in front of other people than with others. They say its nothing but I don’t know what to think. The only person I don’t see something wrong is Rarity. She’s the same as ever. I did get your tickets to the Grand Gala. The girls will be so excited to come. But why did you send us thirteen tickets? I know one is for Spike but what about the other six? Do you want us to bring other girls from Ponyville?
What I learned from friendship this week? Everyone is different. From what they like to the way they look. They’ll say yes to one thing while their friend says no to another. We’ve made a new friend this week. Her name is Belle. She’s an old friend of Rainbow Dash. The two seem like sisters. Another thing I’ve learned is that ... friendship will last forever.
Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle
