Chapter 13: The (In)Famous Derpy

The bell dismissing school could be heard ringing faintly in the distance as Twilight and I wandered about town. Trixie had to be collected later. Perhaps when we had Derpy Hooves and Time Piece we could persuade her. I kept my eyes on the sky, and before too long, I saw the famed grey pegasus flying leisurely, taking in the sights of this unfamiliar place. I pointed to her.
"There she is!" I announced. Twilight looked toward where I was pointing, and saw the pegasus as well.
"How are we going to get over to her while she's in the air?" Twilight had a very good question. It would not be very easy to navigate through the streets to get underneath the unobstructed Derpy. I had an idea.
"Pull her toward us," I suggested, "with your magic." Twilight looked at me like I was crazy, then her expression faded, and she looked back toward the pegasus.
"I wouldn't use magic on another pony in most cases, but this isn't a normal situation, is it?" Her horn began to glow, and less than a second later, Derpy was sheathed in a purple light. She struggled as Twilight brought her down toward us with her telekinesis. She didn't even notice us as Twilight set the flailing pegasus down beside us in a heap. She struggled awkwardly to her hooves, and displayed her adorable confused face as she turned to face us.
"What did you do that for?" She didn't sound angry, but somewhat annoyed. She didn't seem to find it strange that Twilight was there.
"We need to speak to you, Derpy," I said urgently.
"Really? Why would you need to speak to me? I'm just a moving company worker. Well, I was..." She trailed off. Twilight decided to take a direct approach, as we did with Trixie. Derpy was clumsy, but she wasn't stubborn.
"Derpy, you have to listen to us. If we don't get you, Time Piece, and Trixie out of this world, one of our universes could be destroyed!"
"Gee, that sounds bad! Is there anything I can do to help?"
"Well, there is. Just stick with us, and together we'll find a way back to Equestria." Derpy bought this straight away; she had nothing better to do here and knew that Ponyville's librarian knew right from wrong.
"Okay! Umm, what now?" she asked, hopeless. She clumsily lifted herself off the ground.
"I don't know. Where is Time Piece?" Twilight asked. I had not read the part of the article that stated that.
"I have no idea where we could find him," I said, feeling hopeless myself. We had to find the stallion soon, and convince him to come with us as well. Trixie was probably going to be a lost cause until we had the other visiting pony. The sooner we could get these ponies back to Equestria and if need be, stop Discord before he begins his game, the sooner the barrier could be restored, hopefully. Where could we find a pony with some connection with time? The idea came upon me quickly; a museum.
"On second thought, I do. Follow me."
"Where are we going?" Twilight asked.
"We're going to a museum. If we could find him anywhere, I'd bet that's where. There's only one museum in town, and it's not far," I answered. The two mares aligned themselves side by side behind me, and we set off once more.
