Dear diary,
Wow, never thought that i would have a diary, or even something to write about, but here I am. Let me begin by introducing myself. I am Lyra Heartstrings. I am lyre player, as my cutie-mark would suggest, and I am a humony. That's right, i think humans are real. Which leads to why i got you, a diary, to write in. I wanted some way to document my findings, because I know that they are out there. Got it? Good. I can tell you and me are going to spend a lot of time together.

GREAT NEWS! I just found an old book at the library that has a whole bunch of stuff about humans. Never mind the fact that it is call "Mythical Creatures That Have Never Been Proven" it's a good book. Twilight Sparkle, the bookworm, helped me pick it out. Let me just give you thee gist of what it says.

1. Humans don't have magic, they use advanced machinery
2. Humans can't fly, nor do they move on all fours
3. Humans have hands and feet, not hooves
4. Humans are so complex, they have emotional problems like crazy
5. Humans are not as kindhearted as us ponies

so, there you go, more specific stuff to come.

Dear diary,
alright, so I was reading into detail about the humans lack of magic, and this thing they use called technology to advance in life. Instead of creating new spells to make things easier they invent new machines, power by electricity and stuff, to get it done. Strange, but oddly interesting. And these machines can do some of the stuff that our magic can. I think there was something on the list of inventions about an "automobile"? I wonder what exactly that is. The book said that it used some sore of fuel to move the humans around, like trains except without tracks, and that most individual families owned one or two of them. Now wouldn't that be really nice, to not have to trot everywhere. And these automobiles, or "cars" for short, have roofs that cover your head in bad weather.

Quick note today: other ponies don't believe in humans. Some are more tolerate of my beliefs than others. I need to find a way to convince them that humans so do exist. Then I'll become famous, and recognized by everypony for the genius that I am.

Novembmare 30th, 2010 EN

I quit. For now. It was all her fault. Pinkie Pie, that stupid mare just laughed at me when I told her that humans are real. And the way she laughed, it was like she thought I was an idiot just for having the slightest thought of the existence of humans. So I have decided to lay low for awhile, maybe until after the holidays. Then I'll go back, with even more determination and passion.
