UEG-FRIGATE-INCOMPREHENSIBLE
85th PATROL FLEET
5/15/3863-ALR (After Luna’s Return)
IN ORBIT ABOVE CANTERLOT
Onboard the 950m frigate, the almighty scuttlebutt was as strong as ever.
Now this was a fairly routine thing onboard ships of the fleet, especially onboard
small tonnage ships like this one. Although this talk and gossip was not of the usual things like family or home, this was about a much stranger topic.
“Did you hear about Shanxi, does anyone know why they went dark?” asked a deckhand
“No but its something big, almost the whole 85th is jumping in.” replied another
“DAMN THE WHOLE 85th?!” yelled a solder “THAT’S ALLMOST ONE-HUNDRED SHIPS!”
“Ya some thing big is coming down” said a pilot
“How do you know dash? There has not been shit on the coms, at least anything real” replied the deckhand.
The rainbow haired pilot smiled, “Because while you were fixing fighters, I saw a NIGHTMARE class stealth ship jump in, pick up a sky crane and jump out, a jet black sky crane.”
Two things set off the crowd around the pilot, one the NIGHTMARE class stealth ship, and two the jet black sky crane. Anyone who has read any history or paid attention in class knows about the “nightmare”. It was an old demon that took control of princes Luna’s body and tried to bring about eternal night, only to be banished to the moon for 1,000 years. It then returned to try a second time, but this time being defeated by the elements of harmony, thus freeing Luna of its evil grip.
NIGHTMARE is a special ship classification in the fleet, every class of ship has a NIGHTMARE-subclass, from stealth corvettes to dreadnaughts. The NIGHTMARE is a “super” version of its class, for example the standard stealth corvette can only use its stealth as a defense and has vary little firepower to speak of, but, a NIGHTMARE class is just that a nightmare, in addition to its stealth it also has firepower comparable to a frigate and just as big, it also has shields that can take a destroyer main round and hold.
Now a sky crane in nothing special it is just to move troops and supplies from ships to the battlefield, but a jet black sky crane is something new altogether. In addition to there stealth, superior speed, and defenses, these skycrane are only used by one group of solders, the section 8 super solders.
“Sweat Celestia, a NIGHTMARE, and a jet black sky crane?” asked a mare in disbelieve,” something bag has happened, they don’t send in the 8th for pirates or COM relay breakdowns.”
Just as the talking and jelling was about to reach a fever pitch the caption’s voice came over SHIP-COM “This is the captain speaking, I know that there has been rumors flouting about on my ship, well I am here to say that it is true the colony of Shanxi has been dark for almost 36 hours. Now we do not know what has cased this, but rest asherd that we have the best to find out what has happened, a member of the section 8 1st recon group in currently inwrought to Shanxi to find out. The fleet will find out what has happened in the next 10 hours. Let us all pray that Shanxi is safe. Caption James Harper out.”

CELESTIA/LUNA’s THRONE ROOM
5/15/3863 ALR
The throne room of the two sisters, truly a aw inspiring sight. Gleaming Wight marble floors, gold inlays on every suffice, stained glass windows depicting great moments in history. The founding of the kingdom, the defeat of Discord, the nightmare war, Luna’s return, the meeting of the humans, the space age, all great and important moments in history. Now one more will be added.
The princesses were enjoying there calm and peaceful day, there was not that many things going on today surprisingly, even with Shanxi’s COM relay malfunction.
They thought. Celestia was about to say some thing to her loving sister when a VARY RUDE human burst thru the doors.
“What is the meaning of the rather rude entrance Mr. ….?” Celestia said with a warm smile and a slight twitch of the eye.
“I am vary sorry your hinesses but there is some thing you must see, I request that all non-essential personnel leave the room….now.” replied the human in a vary serious tone.
All traces of annoyance left Celestia and Luna’s minds” of coarse, guards, please escort everyone out and lock the door behind you.”
“YES MA'AM” answered the guards and did as they were ordered.
After the room was empty of every one else the human pulled up a hologram of a garden world, and a name popped up above the image 'Shanxi'.
“Oh good, the world is safe, what was it a COM relay malfunction, solar flair, or maybe...” any further hypothesis were shot down when the human interrupted Luna and said,” No ma’am, although I with it were.” the human said solemnly.
Celestia had a bad feeling growing in the pit of her stomach,” what do you mean “you wish” WHAT HAS HAPPENED!?” she yelled.
The human said nothing, and typed something onto his tac-pad. The image changed from a lush and buitifull garden world, to something horrifying, gone was the large patches of green, blue water, and crisp clean atmosfear, they had been replaced by fields of fire, brown polluted water, and a smoke clogged atmosphere.
“Ma'am Shanxi has been attacked, and occupied by and unknown alien force of ships” said the human sadly.
“What…..what do we do?” asked Luna.
“Princesses I ask your permission to send the fleets to Shanxi and take it back, and then find out were these monsters came from and retaliate, we must protect our two peoples.” said the human.
“You want us to go to war?” asked Celestia.
”Yes, yes I do. This was attack on a civion colony ma’am, and because Shanxi was so new they had almost no defensives on the ground or in orbit, it was a scientific outpost studying the devise we found in system. ”, answered the human.
“I will need some time to converse with my sister and the covenant, but for now send in one of the 8th to see the extent of the attack.”
“We already have a 1st recon asset in orbit your highness”, ”Vary good I want a report in two hours, is that understood ?”
The human saluted her and left, closing the doors behind him.
“They told us this day would come.” Luna sadly said.
“Yes, yes they did, and because of them we are prepared.” Replied Celestia.

UEG-NIGHTMARE CLASS-STEATH CORVETTE-STARLIGHT
5/15/3863-ALR
IN ORBIT ABOVE SHANXI
After being in system for three hours my emotions were starting to get the better of me. At first all I felt was rage at the sight of the burning garden world, at the sight of civilian ships burning in atmosphere as they tried to get away. The confusion at the sight of just who was doing this. A group of fifty ships, of unknown design with the largest being a one kilometer war ship. The captain relayed this information to the princesses and now we are weighting for our new orders.
The poilt of the Sky Crane called back to me, “Sir, you are needed on the COMS, relay number 001.”
“001?” I thought, as I changed my COM,”that’s only used by the high-ups”
I was shocked by just who had come up on my HUD.” Princess Luna,” I began, “It’s an honor to speck with you.” I nervously said in the most respectful way I could.
“I only whish this was on better terms.” she said.
“As do I ma'am.” I replied.
She smiled at me lightly, “You have new orders, you are to drop on the outskirts of the main settlement and gage their numbers and capabilities, while you are doing this the STARLIGHT will do the same with their fleet.”
“Understood”, I replied, “But if I may say ma'am, there 'fleet' is almost laughable, only one is barely a kilometer.”
She perked up, “Well that’s good but I will hold for the full report from the STARLIGHT before I do anything”
“Of course ma'am”
”good luck Steven.” she smiled and cut the COM.
“Ten minutes to BURN-IN sir!” yelled the pilot.
My helmet’s panels slid into place over my face. “Thank you” I spoke into my COM.
As I calmly weighted for the drop I said the mantra of the 8th:
In the quiet of the storm I come.
In that instant of charged atmosphere I come.
I feel like lightning and my burden is awesome.
I feel like lightning and down I must go.
“DROPING NOW” yelled the pilot.
My seat roiled back, my HUD gave me a now updated map of my drop zone and my orders from HIGHCOM: recon surrounding area, collect “data” on enemy forces, and gage the offensive and defensive capabilities, and assist main force.
My altimeter gave me my current point: 90,000FT, the onboard AI calculated drop shock and weather interference on drop conditions.
The hatch on the Sky Cane opened, I slid down, and count down came up on my HUD: 10 SEC TO DROP.
UEG-COLONY-Shanxi
5/15/3863-ALR
JUST OUTSIDE OF COLONY
If anybody would look up now they would see a vary pretty sight in the night sky, a long and bright fire trail, callused by the falling debris of the ships in orbit, or that is what the Turian commanders thought it was when one of the solders radioed it in. On the other hand, the remaining civilian populace currently in detainment saw something completely different, hope. Because this fire trail did not bring death and destruction (at least not to them), it brought salvation, it brought and end to their imprisonment, and it brought revenge for all who had died here.
As I watched the fire trail wrap around the protection of my energy shielding, watching the fires in the city get closer, I looked for my target.
There, my helmet zoomed in on the odd shape, it was bipedal in stance but everything else was completely alien to me.
10,000 feet to impact
This thing was defiantly an alien, its ‘legs’ were like the back legs of a pony, and it was clad in armor I had never seen before.
The thing that put me off the most was not the strange armor or its weird body structure. What concerned me was the gun it was holding. It may be an alien but the object in its claws was distinctly familiar, strange shape same purpose.
1,000 feet to impact
I decided to do this silently, as not to attract any is this things buddies. I flipped over so my feet were pointed downwards, and activated my main airbrakes, and then my hand went to my knife sheathed in my left pauldron.
100 feet to impact
The alien had thankfully not looked up yet, as it was now too late to correct my fall. Now I knew nothing about the aliens’ physiology, but two tons of armor and flesh going at little below the speed of sound, coupled with knife to the back of the I assumed was the neck, the alien was dead before it ever knew I was there.
I picked my self of the now dead alien was able to get a closer look at the thing. The part the caught my attention was its oddly designed head. It had some type of scales or plates on its head and a fringe of the same martial coming back and off of its head. It also had a pair of mandibles on the sides of its mouth which was full of sharp teeth. I preformed a fast scan and tasked my AI to find anything and everything about this thing that she could, and send the information to HIGHCOM at Canterlot.
In accordance with my orders I set of to find good rust to recon, and if nee be snipe from. My foot kicked something though and I looked down to see the aliens’ strange rifle and decided to take it with me.
THREE HOURS LATER
As of now I am about four miles outside the city on the edge of an outcropping looking toords the city, well within the range of my ISD-V4 Vanguard sniper rifle. I had finished my recon of the surrounding area and was now watching the battle now taking place in the space above Shanxi, the princesses had sent in a fairly large battle group consisting of: two Dreadnoughts, five NIGHTMARE-CLASS-Destroyers, and ten NIGHTMARE-CLASS-Frigates.
I pulled up the data the STARLIGHT had gathered on the now conformed hostile alien fleet, fifty ships with the largest being a little below a kilometer in size, the STARLIGHT’s AI had flagged this ship as the flagship of the fleet, based on the size and odd power signatures coming from the vessel which gave the AI in her words “the AI equivalent of vertigo”. The mass of the ship aperies to fluctuate whenever the ship moves.
The fleet was due to arrive in moments so I told my AI to upload my recon data, and the information gathered from the dead alien to the TAC-NET so the ground ponders would have up to date information. She was also working on a large packet of information that the alien had stored in its armor but it was proving vary hard to crack and a large part of the data had all ready been lost much to her dismay, the first time she had tried to hack into the files it had begun to delete it’s self as some kind of automated destruct system, fortunately she was able to stop it before all of it was lost. Despite her failure I did not blame her.
” there was no way you could have known it would have done that”
“I KNOW DAMNIT….sigh… its just I should have caught it faster.”
“Hell I am glad it did “
“What? Really?”
“Yes I am willing to bet that thing was standard issue, we can find another; you on the other hand would be much harder to replace.” I said
“Aw, thank you Steven”, Cynder said.” I was able to save something big, it is there ‘gelactic standard’ it is a standard langrage of their govermints, I have prepared a translator package for your COMS, and I have uploaded a copy to all ship board AI’s, TAC-COM, and HIGHCOM systems.”
“Thanks Cynder this will help the fleet in orbit, and the land forces, you did well.” I complemented.
“It was my pleaser Sergeant.” she said. “The fleet has jumped in-system patching you in now.”
A small window appeared on my HUD of the commander of the fleet,” This is General Twilight Sparkle of the 85th patrol fleet to the alien forces over the colony of Shanxi, you will cease all hostile actions ageist the UEG immediately or your forces will be destroyed and no mercy will be given to your forces or govermints, you have five minutes to comply or we will open fire on your vessels.” , General Sparkles ultimatum was pretty lenient considering what these things have done but considering the might of the UEG these alien might get more then they barged for.
Almost immediately after that what I assumed was the alien fleet commander appeared on my HUD as well, at first I thought the translator was malfunctioning, but that was put down as Cynder yelled into my COM, “HOW DARE THAT THING LAUGH AT THE GENERAL!”
“You think the mighty Citadel Council will bend to the whim of four legged animals, ha ha ha, you are sadly mistaken, your worlds will be ours in due time.” The alien ‘smiled’ as he was about to cut the link but the General said some thing that put a look of horror on its face,” ALL SHIPBOARD AI’s ROCK THERE SYSTEMS, I WANT THEM DEAD IN THE WATER!”
Their SHIP-NET defensives were powerful but no ship could defend against seventeen DISCORD-class AI’s all attacking at once their flagship went from armed and dangerous to an airless ghost ship as the AI’s hit the ship, first the engines went offline, then their gravity, lights, power, as this was happening the General said one last thing, “ we warned you, now you die, Spike?” a holo of a green drake appeared next to her, ”Yes, ma'am ?,”,”Vent the atmosphere….slowly, let them think of what they have done.”,” Of course ma'am.”.
From the STARLIGHTs’ shipboard cameras I watched as their air true to General Sparkles’ word slowly vented from the flag ship and the shipboard AI’s began jamming there ship-to-ship COMS and the fleet moved into attack.
The enemy fleet began to slowly move into a lose grid of attack patterns, and opened up on General Sparkles’ dreadnought, of the forty-nine rounds that were fired ten were targeted to her ship, eight hit her ship it a 46% drop in shields, she fired back along with the rest of the 85th, seventeen KRG rounds screamed toads the alien fleet and thanks to the AI’s every round impacted a separate ship, seventeen small suns appeared in the sky and five more were caught in the blast, aliens 0 UEG 22.
DAMN this will be a short fight. That first salvo decimated the alien fleet, but something unexpected happened, the enemy fleet fired a second time. Damn maybe not, we have them beet on firepower but they kick the shit out of us on fire rate. Cynder told me while there guns were weaker they could fire every two point five seconds compared to our 30 second reload time.
The cause of there faster shot times? Three of the NIGHTMARE class Frigates, and one Destroyer. But the main guns is not all the fleet has the also make use of DEWs these plasma canons launch ‘pockets’ of plasma at the enemy in magnetically controlled balls.
The fleet fired the second salvo at the enemy and another thirteen ships were wiped from the playing field only this time none were caught in the blasts, they learn fast I will give them that.
By this time there fleet had had just about be killed off by the 85th and were heading out system towards a massive tuning fork shaped object my HUD named a SHOCKPOINT GATE. I asked Cynder,”What the fuck is a shock point gate?”
“It is what the scientist were studying here they discovered it about a month ago and activated it a week ago.” Cynder awnsered,”it would appear that these Turians as they call them self’s came from the gate.”
“Just what does it do?”
“It allows for near instantaneous travel across hundreds of light years, similar to our jump drives, it would appear that the Turian based all there technology on these mass relays as they call them, I have completed the translation of what’s left of the ‘codex’ sending copies to fleet AI’s and HIGHCOM now.”
General Sparkle appeared on my HUD once more, “I am sorry about the four ships ma’am did some of the crew get out of the ships?”, I asked.
“Yes, many life pods were launched from the ships we are in the process of recovering them now, and the enemy fleet is in full retreat with eleven ships remaining.”, she said with a smile, ” What I am concerned with is the situation on the ground, it looks pretty bad here in orbit, just how bad is?”
“ I am sorry to say mam not good, the civilian populace has suffered major casualties, the majority of the superstructures here have been knocked down, and the remaining populace has be moved into segregated camps,…..and…..”
A worried look and a bad feeling crossed the Generals face and mind, not much can rattle a member of the 8th, “It’s, ok Sergeant you can tell me, take your time.” She said with a forced smile.
“They have been killing any unicorns they find ma'am…” a pained expression crossed my face, “regardless of age.”
The General closed her eyes in sadness as did most of the bridge crew,” They will be avenged Sergeant.” She activated her ship-to-ship COM and told the other captains to destroy any life pods that they come across.
“The fleet is moving into geosynchronous orbit above the main settlement, when we have regrouped I will deploy the main ground force.” said the General.
“Of course ma’am the Turian ground forces have moved into defensive positions, and Cynder has taken the liberty of painting what looks like high value targets and ranking command officers, my presence to my knowledge has not been compromised ma’am.”
“Vary good sergeant, new orders will be relayed to your TAC-NET in a moment, as of now continue to monitor the situation on the ground, may the sisters protect you.” said Twilight
As her face disappeared from my HUD I switched my gaze down the scope of my vanguard. I activated the scopes magnification and the destroyed cityscape jumped into view.
The Turians had indeed noticed the absence of their fleets’ communiqués as we had jammed their ship-com systems so their ground forces likely know nothing of their loss in orbit. They have started to reinforce the defenses already in place in and around the city, multiple fire lines and cross fire locations, and snipers.
This will be a hard won fight.

UEG-Section 8 1st Recon
5/15/3863-ALR
SHANXI-30 minits latter
“The Turians have been busy, Sergeant." Cynder spoke into my COM.
“Yes, I can see that vary clearly Cynder.” I replied, “Do you think that is an AA gun on the top of that building?
“I do not know but I will see what I can find out.” She replied
As she ‘looked into it’ I was busy re-evaluating the
soon-to-be battle field. The aliens had really shored up there defenses, the commanding officer must be really smart. I could see multiple overlapping fields of fire, ambush points, clear lines of retreat, snipers on key points, heavy weapons on every corner, and lots of good supply lines.
These Turians must be vary virsed in war. “They do appear to know what their doing.” Cynder said.
A new list of orders appeared on my HUD, target important locations for position strikes from the frigate GRAFTON, eliminate surviving ranking personnel, and support the ground forces in their attack.
Simple enough I thought, I reviewed the target list Cynder had supplied. I began to laze the most important targets, AA positions, heavy vehicles like tanks, and a couple of surviving buildings I knew had snipers and AT teams.
After I completed painting the targets I transferred the targeting information to GRAFTONs’ gunnery teams.
“Targeting information loaded, Sergeant firing in ten seconds.” The stallion replied.
The gunner vanished from my HUD and ten seconds latter GRAFTON fired on the multiple targets I had painted with its cannons.
BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, the three buildings with AA installations was wiped of the map, as these were falling down the GRAFTON switched its fire onto the sniper and AT teams in the smaller structures.
BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, after this salvo the GRAFTON began destroying any heavy vehicles that I could see.
After a couple seconds of bombardment, of witch I enjoyed seeing the Turians running for cover, GRAFTON stopped firing and the fleet deployed its Sky crane drop ships full of troopers and vehicles.
While this was happening the Turians were doing what they could to establish fire lines and ambush points, much to my amassment they did not seem all that shaken from the orbital strike. Got to give it to the birds they don’t brake easy.
The troop ships began to land about five miles outside the city to avoid any AA we had missed and as not to take that much fire from the ground troops. After everyone had be unloaded my new orders were put onto my TAC-NET: I am to support ground teams in their attack, take out targets that the fire teams give me, and elimanate high value targets as they present themselves.
I switched my view towards the city and looked for my targets. I found a small group of Turians huddled around another of their kind and were pointing at a holo-map I let my crosshairs fall on the one giving orders and weighted.
A couple of seconds latter I herd what I was whetting for.
“All units’ weapons free, I repeat weapons free.”
I held my breath and fired, BOOM, the recoil bit into my shoulder as the round was sent flying down range. I whetted for the round to complete its flight, and when it did something unexpected happened, the round meet almost no resistance as it hammered thru the commanders shields and tore into the aliens midsection, it hit just left of the Turians chest and the almost all of the aliens top half was blown off and what was left was splattered on the ground behind it and it internal organs fell to the ground, the round continued its flight into the unfortunate alien that was looking over its shoulder and impacted its lower half right above its pelvis, needless to say the aliens' lower half was disconnected from its top half as it then fell to the ground in a puddle of its vaporized internal organs and a pool of its own blue blood.
Other then linger on that spot I began to screen for more targets as the solders began to reach the cities edge. Cynder took the liberty of highlighting targets, another commander was hiding behind a torn down wall, and I put my cross hairs on to the center of the blob of heat and fired.
The single heat source was turned into many and the hypervelocity round punched thru the foot thick wall and into the life form behind it. But alas I did not have the time to savor my kill as I herd a cry over my COMs.
“THIS IS ECHO WE NEED SNIPER SUPPORT RIGHT NOW!!”
I switched my view to echos’ location and was able to se the problem, the Turians had set up a heavy gun emplacement that was tarring into echo teams men. I centered my crosshairs onto the gun encampment and fired a round, BOOM, this round impacted the gunner in the neck at the force of the hypervelocity rounds’ air shredded the Turians head and shell-shocked the gunners and then the marines to toss in a frag and destroy the emplacement.
“Thanks for the support 03, moving up.” said the fire teams commander.
“Everyone gets one” I joked
That battle lines were slowly moving in our favor, these Turians may be good solders but we just have then beat in discipline and tactics, what I was seeing was they we trying to hold the line with high numbers of men alone, no that my work with what they have fought but it wont work with the UEG.
Their line of command was getting shorter and sorter by the minute, between me and the other hunter-killer teams their command chain was dieing off pretty fast. Our tactics were radically deferent, target the command and high value targets, and destroy any semblance of command; in short cut of the head of the snake and the body dies. Their discipline was getting worse and worse, fire lines were falling apart, gone were the clean and neat retreats laden with traps, now they were just trying to hold the line and stay hidden from the snipers that serounded the city.
“This is rescue one, remaining civilians are secured moving to extract”
The city was just about under our control the fire teams had delegated their tasks to now repurpose hunter-killer teams to scower the city for any remaining Turian forces to rote out any form of resistance.
Some new orders came up on my HUD: participate in POW processing.
10 minutes latter
I was now just about to reach the city center which had been repurposed from the camps to a POW camp to the time being. I walked up to the commanding officer and asked for and update.
He saluted me and said “Sir, these are all of the surviving Turian forces; the Princess will be on COM.”
“Vary well; let me take a look at them.” I said.
As I left the building I took in the image before me. The Turian POW’s were all in a line on the knees their were about twenty to thirty of them, they did not seem scared of the humans and ponies detaining them, one in fact was yelling in its native tongue at the mare looking him over for anything dangerous.
Any more curses died in its thought as it took notice of me, now I may be human but that’s about were the similarities end, the average human was about five to six feet tall and two hundred pounds. I on the other hand thanks to my augmentations and armor I stood a tall seven feet and am almost two tons in weight. The Turians stopped yelling and tried to back up and the others took notice of this and looked. Most just stared and their mouths hung open as I walked up to the mare.
She was looking at the POWs trying to see what had caused there sudden shut up. She herd thumping getting closer and turned around and smiled.
“Ah so the reports we true, ah knew yawl were big but this is plane redickuless, what do they feed you sergeant?” asked the mare.
“Just eat my veggies ma’am” my HUD tagged her as commander Applejack, “are these it?”
“Yep the ground pounders really tore them a new one didn’t they.” She chuckled.
“Yes we did ma’am, mind if I take a look?”
“That won’t be a problem as ah see it.”
I nodded and walked to one end of the line, the Turians had must not had a super solder program because they were visibly scared of me. I began walking down the line of POW’s looking for some one in particular. I had made it a point to kill any one of the Turians that I had seen killing civilians in the attack on the city and now I was checking for any that I had missed.
I saw something that made me see red, one of the Turians had taken a unicorn horn a make a necklace out of it. My hand jumped to the things neck and ripped it off the ground, the commander was about to stop me but when she looked at was on this monsters neck she let me continue and told the others to stand down.
I was now holding this thing around the neck a couple of feet off the ground looking at this thing with discusst. It was struggling ageist my grip but its struggles were useless, one of the other aliens jumped up surrounded by a blue field of energy, I saw this and tossed the Turian I was holding to the ground, my hand when to the Hammer on my leg and pulled it out of its holster, time slowed as I raised my gun, the Turian was now moving in slow motion as I lined up my shot, BAM, BAM, BAM, the rounds from my hammer slammed into the alien and a type of magic barrier stopped the first round but not the next two as they passed thru its chest and head. I then shot the Turian I had throne to the ground in the head.
I did all of this in less then a second, seeing just how fast this happened put down any growing resistance in the others.
“Who missed the fact that they can perform magic?” I asked out loud.
“Sir that was not magic, it resembled what there ships and vehicles put out.” A Tec told me.
“he was a biotic.” cynder told me,”he was a product of exposer to something they call element zero, not magic.”
“Hm something for OEI to look into.” I said
As the rest of the POW’s were shorted out I forwarded my report to the princesses.
Time for some downtime on the home world I thought as the POW’s were loaded onto transports.

OEI- Office of Equestrian Intelligence
Information : Power armor
UEG Powered Assault Armor is an extremely powerful and technologically advanced battle exoskeleton designed to enhance human combat performance on all scales by offering a myriad of weaponry and devices at its disposal.
The suit is designed to dramatically increase all physical properties of the soldier possessing it, including strength, speed, reflexes, agility, physiology (soldiers that have worn the armor are not affected by viruses and disease), and combat awareness.
Components
The armor features many layers which help enhance and protect the wearer.
Energy Shielding
The outermost layer consists of what is its most powerful protection system: A rechargeable shielding system which forms a protective layer around the armor and shields the user from most forms of heavy weaponry, the shields protect the wearer regardless of range. The shields also protect the wearer from the intense heat generated by atmospheric re-entry whenever an Armored Infantryman is Burning In above a planetary atmosphere, creating an iconic fire trail around the soldier. Although, any attacks not traveling at a high enough velocity, like melee strikes from a knife or even an Armored Infantryman's bare hands, may not trigger the shield systems at all.
The shields work by constantly sending out frequency pulses around the user (similar to sonar) that detects the movement speed of all nearby objects and calculates point of trajectory; when the armor senses an incoming object possessing a dangerous level of velocity and/or size the suit emits a powerful layer of plasma to the point of impact, melting or deflecting the object and rendering the user unharmed. The process repeats until the shields lose power from sustaining too much damage and the wearer takes cover, allowing them to regenerate.
The shield emitters can be seen on the outside of the armor as bright glowing blue, white, and orange LED (Light Emitting Diode) sections. The light can be dampened down for stealth operations.
Tritium-Alloy Armor Plating
The UEG Powered Assault Armor's thick armor plates are made of tritium alloy, a very lightweight but extremely resilient material. This armor plating covers sections of the wearer including the legs, shoulders, abdomen, back, chest, and helmet; its primary function is to protect against rail projectile weaponry and other munitions like plasma or high-explosives.
Synthetic Muscle System
Beneath the armor plating is one of the battlesuit's deadliest features: its synthetic muscle system. The synthetic muscle system is composed of many hexagonal shaped titanium-reinforced nano-fibers, all connected to form large fibers, which are in turn strung together with even more fibers to create the muscle system. The nano-fibers react to constant electrical stimulation from the armor, causing them to move with the wearer. The synthetic muscles greatly improve the strength, speed, and reaction time of the wearer, allowing him to lift very heavy objects by himself and excel in close combat against otherwise superior opponents.
The muscle layer completely covers the wearer's body and provides total protection from weaker projectiles like cased rounds not assisted by rail propulsion. The muscle system is also self repairing, and constantly sends out small self-replicating nanites to effect repairs on itself and other layers whenever the armor is damaged. Additionally, it renders most EMP attacks against the suit completely futile and allows the soldier to engage in Overdrive, enabling him to reach speeds of up to 75 mph.
Most importantly, the synthetic muscles are able to completely absorb extremely intense G-forces and high velocity impacts. This makes the synthetic muscle system vital to a Armored Infantryman's survival whenever he is Burning In, as it absorbs the G-forces that would otherwise render him unconscious when plummeting from thousands of feet above the ground at such high velocities, and then absorbs the tremendous force generated from the otherwise fatal impact upon a soldier's landing, keeping the wearer unharmed from a fall at such heights.
Helmet
The helmet consists of multiple layers, the first of which is a metal outer layer identical to the armor covering the rest of the suit. This outer layer has two small panels that cover the wearer's eyes. These panels can be retracted back into the rest of the helmet to allow the user to see directly out. On these panels are blue eye slits, two on each panel, accounting for a total of four. The wearer does not see straight through these slits, since they are actually optical cameras that are connected to the wearer's HUD.
Underneath the armored layer is an orange colored visor which displays the HUD. This visor is made of a type of durable bulletproof glass. The final layer is a mask that goes over the wearer's mouth. This mask supplies the wearer with oxygen, food, and water directly from the armor's storage areas.
Automated Medical System
A very important feature of the armor is its Automated Medical system (or Automed for short). The Automed system contains various miniature medical devices that allow it to heal the soldier inside if he is wounded, and keep him alert and active thereafter. It can rapidly heal burns, puncture wounds, lacerations, broken bones, and other serious injuries. The Automed System also dispenses painkillers and stimulation cocktails which help the soldier inside to stay alert.
Another function of the Automed system is that it houses millions of controlled self-replicating nano-sized artificial anti-bodies (nanites) which can fight off any known virus, bacteria, or other disease in the galaxy. The nanites also aid the Automed system in rapidly healing wounds, allowing soldiers to quickly recover from, and fight through, even the most serious injuries. These beneficial nanites continue to replicate themselves inside the wearer of the armor, so wearers that have used nanites are immune to all sicknesses and can recover from the most grievous wounds in a surprisingly short time.
Power Sources
To power its highly advanced systems, the armor utilizes a miniature plasma/antimatter reactor, housed in the back of the armor. This reactor uses a fuel (primarily tritium and deuterium) and antimatter to create electricity. The fuel is kept in a plasma state, and is then injected into a magnetically contained charge of antimatter. Since antimatter is the opposite of matter, they mutually annihilate themselves, creating a large outburst of energy.
The energy is stored in a large, "main" capacitor. This capacitor contains a large amount of energy. Whenever it is needed, the energy can be transferred to smaller capacitors (for example, those powering the jetpack or artificial muscles) which will use the power. When the main capacitor is nearly empty, the reactor fires again to recharge it. Any leftover plasma from the explosion is stored in a magnetic container and used by the armor's plasma shields. The reactor does not need to be refueled with more antimatter and fuel for many years, allowing the soldier to operate for extended periods of time.
If the antimatter reactor is out of power, all nanites in the armor initiate an emergency power sequence that recycles the waste of the armor wearer and converts it to energy, enabling the armor to continue functioning in this manner for several weeks or until the wearer can replenish the antimatter reactor.
So, you want to talk ?

SHANXI-ODP PLATFORM
So much for that down time, I lamented in my head. It had been one week since the Turians attack on Shanxi and I had been transferred to one of the six ODP platforms now in geosynchronous orbit around Shanxi. The platforms had already been underway to Shanxi before the attack but the scientists were to overzealous in the activation of the
‘Mass Relay ‘and had paid for it now they were here to make shore another invasion would fail in it happened.
The Orbital Defense Platform (ODP) is a kinetic Rail Gun installation on pair with a NIGHTMARE class Dreadnought’s main gun, it fires a 3,000 ton round at 12,000Km/s and has an impact force of 51.6 Gigatons of TNT, and has a fire-reload time of five seconds, this gun is able to destroy any ship in the fleet including the NIGHTMARE class Dreadnoughts, it is theorized even if a ships shields or armor could take a ODP round and hold the thermo-energy transfer would vaporize the target. This is why every colony has at least three in orbit at all times and the home world has over five hundred in orbit packed into clusters in geosincranis orbit above major city centers, with Canterlot having the largest with fifty.
Also the relay is now under heavy guard with over one hundred ships within firing range of the relay and fifty DISCORD class AI’s on jamming duty should anything come trough the relay.
“This is the dreadnought VICTORY the relay is live, repeat the relay is live.”
“Speak of the devil, perfect timing don’t you think?” Cynder asked me.
“Ya, I almost feel bad for the birds, there is sixty Dreadnoughts in firing range alone, not to mention the big guns in the ODPs.”
“This is VICTORY relay transport complete, AI’s are jamming, wait…. Theirs only one ship and it dose not match known Turian designs specifications.”
“Does not match, what could this mean?” I asked Cynder.
“I do not know, the ship appears to have no weapons and it is sending out a signal that has been repeating every ten seconds, the AI’s are trying to find out what it is.”
“ This is VICTORY the ship is sending out a first contact message, they call themselves ‘Asari ‘ and they appear to want to talk and resolve the conflict before it escalates into full blown war.”
“Damn, the princesses will just LOVE this shit, ‘Sorry we wiped Shanxi on the map can you please not kill us?’
“It is better then open war Steven, besides we do not know what there really capable of, for all we know the Turians at Shanxi could have been pirates or slavers, besides it is not for you to decide that is the Princesses jobs.”
“True well let’s get to CIC and watch.” I said as I started to pick up my pace.
Council political ship
Asari
Five minutes before relay jump
Matriarch Benezia could not believe the actions of the Turians, they had attacked race of un-known aliens for trying to activate a Mass Relay. A dangerous action yes and it is against Citadel Council law, but this new species could not have known either facts, but alas the Turians with their military zealousness had open fire on the obviously harmless vessel and then had the gal to attack the world the ship had came from.
Then in a horrifying act the Turians basically wiped the colony off the map. They took the survivors of the attack and detained and studied them. The race appears to be quadruped in stance like the Elcor, but that is were the similarities end. They are only three feet in height. They are covered in a coat of fur that can apparently be any verity of colors. There are also three distinct types of the four legged organisms, one type has wings and are capeable of flight although this is unknown how because of the relation of the ‘wings’ and the mass of the body, another with a single horn on its head. These are the ones that interest her the most because every one of these types posses Biotics, and another with neither wings nor a horn. They were almost completely peaceful and the Turians did not have a single casualty.
That all changed one week after the colony was taken, seventeen ships had appeared on the edge of the system through unknown means and put out an
Order, ‘Stop attacking or die’ was the gist of the message. Instead of accepting the offer the turain general had spat in the face of the enemy commander and paid of it. From the reports the largest ship was just larger then the flagship protecting the citadel. But the size of the ships was not what was of concern to her, what was of concern was the way the majority of the fleet was destroyed the Turian Dreadnought was completely shut down by massive tec attack carried out by AI’s. Then all coms were cut and the enemy fleet opened fire on the Turian ships. Each impact resulting in a destroyed or disabled ship, a total of twenty two ships to four enemy ships destroyed. In short a war with this race would be devastating, their ground side abilities are unknown but likely small consitering their biology. So the Asari were sent in to hopefully defuse the situation before it turned to total war.
“Ms. Benezia we are exiting the relay soon.” Said the navigation officer.
“Good be ready to transmit the signal and jump to FTL just in case” She replyed.
“Exiting in 3… 2… 1… no-“
At that moment every shipboard system was cut off line except for gravity and life support.
“WHAT JUST HAPPENED” yelled Benezia.
“We just lot control of all systems were locked out… Just like the Turians” answered a technician.
“Get me a picture of the surrounding space.”
Benezia soon regretted that request.
“Here you are ma’am”
What she found that the fleet of seventeen ships had been replaced with a fleet of well over one hundred and fifty war ships and a cluster of in-orbit defenses.
By the goddess, all of this in a week? Benezia thought. Their must be peace war would be problematic.
“Um. Ma’am we have COMs back.”
“What, how did you do that?”
“I did not, they just came back on, nothing else just COMS. What do we do?”
“Send the message, and pray they answer.”
The com officer sent the message and the crew whated for a reply. Thirty minutes latter they got one.
A female voice came over the coms and said “You will be boarded, move all crewmembers to the bridge, any resistance will be met with lethal force this is your one and only warning we will not be as merciful as we were to the Turians.” And then the COMs were turned off ones more.
A lingering thought echoed in her mind and she voiced it to the crew of her ship.
“They were merciful to the Turians?”

SHANXI-ON WAY TO ASARI SHIP
So the Aliens want play nice now that we kicked the shit out of them I thought as the Sky Crane docked with the Asari ship. NAVCOM had decided to allocate three members of the 8th for this fun little endeavor, I had never worked with these two before but that would be no problem as per protocol we were to name each other by our numbers I was S-003, the other two were P-045, and J-117, and of coarse each of our Alicorn class AI’s. According to the Shipboard AI’s that hacked into the ships systems there should be twenty Asari onboard the ship and little forms of weapons onboard. The AI’s still had a hold on their systems and had taken all the data the ship held on the UEG and apparently they had no knowledge of the humans of the UGE so there was bound to be a scare and we were told to only fire unless in danger of casualties.
“Makes me wonder why we even brought guns, the weapons off the manifest are unable to down your shields before you would be able to safely pacify the shooter.” Said Cynder aloud.
“Yes, so no firing unless I say so.” I said.
All that came as a response was two green lights on my HUD. At that moment the doors opened and we stepped out denting the floor with our multy-ton weight.
“Move to the bridge and secure the crew” I ordered
ASARI
The bridge crew we whispering to themselves as they waited for the boarding teams to arrive, Benezia was about to try and calm the assembled Asari but was interrupted by an officer saying “Stop, did anyone else hear that?”
“Ya, I think I did hear something.”
“SHH. Be silent.” Benezia warned.
There was a sound, it was a thumping that was getting closer, and it sounded like a group of Krogan but…. Heavier. And by the sound of it they were getting closer.
THUMP
THUMP
THUMP
It stopped? Their at the door, and said door decided it would be a good time to stop working and not open.
“Some one see if we can get that door open, we must cooperate.” Benezia ordered
A tec was about to do just that when a loud sound stopped everyone in there tracks.
BOOM
“Did they just try to blow the door off?” someone said.
BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM.
Benezia then saw something that made her face pail slightly and made a guard ask “Is that a dent?”
Her answer came in a form a fist punching through the door and disappearing back through.
“They just punched through an air tight door” said an officer flatly.
As the pair of armored gantlets was in the act of dismantling the locking mechanisms on the door Benezia steeped to the front of the group and put on a calm face. The door was then forced open and three vary intimidating things steeped through the now open door.
What she assumed was a mech was around seven to eight feet in height. Bipedal in stance, and covered in armor as blue as her skin, there were also bright white spots on the knee, elbow, and shoulder areas; it also had four ‘eyes’ which were scanning her crew. Just a she was about to speak it interrupted her in a robotic like voice.
“Are you the captain of this vessel?” the one in front of her asked.
Benezia only nodded her head hopping the mech would understand the gesture.
“Vary well, you will come with me, you and your crew will be detained onboard the Dreadnought VICTORY, any hostile action will be seen as an act of war, am I understood?” The mech said.
“Ok, go with them peacefully.” Benezia told her crew.
The mechs began to take the crew to there ship that was now docked with her ship and the one in front of her gilded her to the docking port.
“Will my crew be harmed, were are you taking them?” Benezia asked.
“Your crew is being taken to the hanger, they will not be harmed, not unless they try to harm us, in that case the hanger doors will be opened” The mech answered.
We at least they gave us the benefit of the dought. But she had one more thing she wanted to know.
“Were are you taking me?”
“You are being taken to the war room you may talk to the Captain there, and if nee be one of the Princesses. If you do talk to one of them be as respect full as possible the crew is vary…..loyal to them, and so am I.”
“If I may ask, what are you?”
“I am Human, the other major races in the UEG govermints are the ponies, and the Assembly”
Pony, hmm so that’s what they call themselves, and this ‘human’ his kind is vary…. Impressive, but what as this Assembly? Benezia thought.
At that moment the airlock on the docking clamp opened and she was treated to a wary pleasant sight. The UEG apparently puts a lot of care into the design and construction of there ships, and has massive amounts of resources... There was gold, and other inlays all throughout the hall she was in, the walls were designed in a vary comforting way, it mad her feel at peace, she could not belive this was a ship of war. Then she took in the other races that surounded, ponys only took sideways glances at her a retuned to their work and some even smiled at her, not to be rude she smiled back. But something was nagging at her.
“Were are the Humans?”
“The ships of the fleet are many crewed by ponies, there are some humans onboard but they would be in the hanger or fighter bays.” The Human answered.”
They then reached a door and the human typed some commands into a touch screen to the left of the door and then the door opened to a fairly large room in which a large table dominated the room. The human stepped in and she fallowed him in.
After a couple of minutes the door opened to revel a pony. It was purple in color and had an odd symbol on its flank, a group of stars. The human and pony exchanged words in there native tongue, witch sounded heavenly even when the Human spoke it. After a couple of seconds of talking the pony looked at her and smiled.
“Hello I am General Twilight Sparkle commander of this fleet, and you must be Matriarch Benezia.”
Benezia stood up and introduced her self, “Yes General, it is good to meet you.”
“Please call me Twilight; now I want you to tell me about your self and this Citadel Council your race is a part of.”
“Well Twilight that is a long story.”
