SPARTAN-IV Aaron Kyle Jensen is about to be one of the first Spartans in UNSC History to test out a new light Shaw-Fugikawa trans-light slipspace engine that will be used on a DG79-HTC/MA Pelican gunship. With this new kind of slipspace technology, Pelicans or any other UNSC space crafts that can't tolerate slipspace travel will now be able to perform such a task. It is both a tactical and evolutional solution. The only question is "Is it safe?"
That's why Aaron is onboard the UNSC corvette, Pony Express to be the guinea pig. He isn't afraid of dying if something goes wrong. He views death as an opportunity to be able to see his deceased family again who perished at the hands of the Insurrectionists. One thing that does trouble him is that he's been getting a strange accruing nightmare ever since he set foot onboard the Express. Whatever it is, it's Covenant related.
Meanwhile on the mysterious and harmonized planet of Equis, Princess Luna is having the same issue. Her elder sister Celestia, fellow princess Twilight Sparkle, and the rest of the friends are trying to find out why this is happening to the poor Princess of the Night. Another issue is that the Grand Galloping Gala is coming up soon and is behind on preparations.
By coincidence, Aaron's and Luna's dreams are close to similarity even through their experiences are different. This raises the question if these dreams are really dreams at all?
Whatever the answer, Aaron unintentionally but fortunately crash-lands on the surface of Equis after a minor malfunction with the slipspace drive leaving his Pelican immobile. What's worse is that he temporarily cannot contact the Express for evac.
A chain of events are soon set in motion when Aaron makes first contact with the strange equine creatures. Events that will truly test the relationships between the ponies themselves, and for their new human visitors. Events that will form special bonds, cause deception, and evict tragedy that could change the fate of Equis forever.
Nightmares or dreams are just figments of the human, or pony imagination--but sometimes there could only be the slightest way that the fantasies of the mind can become a reality; a terrifying and fatal, reality.
