An Intoxicating Night

Prince Blueblood neatly adjusted his bow. Tonight was the annual Grand Galloping Gala, a certain event he feared ever since that crude white unicorn…what was her name? Ah yes, Rarity. Rarity was her name. That unsophisticated ruffian humiliated him in front of all the guests. Ever since that night, he dreaded going to the Gala.

The regal blond unicorn sighed. Maybe tonight things could be different. Perhaps he could even make amends with Rarity and become neighborly acquaintances at last. Although there was something more that Blueblood was looking forward too other than meeting Rarity. He desperately wanted to finally meet the newest addition to the Royal family; Princess Twilight Sparkle. He was a prince, and every prince needed a princess, afterall.

A guard poked his head through Blueblood’s bedroom door, “Sir, the Princesses have just arrived.”

Blueblood nodded, trotting after the guard as he led him to the ballroom. Everypony from the year before had returned, including Twilight’s friends. As usual, that obnoxious pink pony was standing on stage, loudly singing the Pony Pokey song. He cringed. As he and the guard walked forward to the welcoming room to greet the guests and meet with the Princesses, he saw her….her. Rarity.

There she was, chatting with Fancy Pants, wearing the same dress from last year. Blueblood looked a little closer at her dress and noticed that it was slightly stained. His ears drooped a bit, remembering that night when she exploded on him. Blueblood shook the memory off and regained his composure; now wasn’t the time to reminisce. Blueblood and his guard approached the four Princesses who each stood, greeting the guests and shaking their hooves while wishing them a wonderful time.

“Good evening, ladies.” He greeted, offering a small wave of his hoof.

Princess Celestia craned her head and smiled. “Oh, hello, my beloved nephew. The Gala looks amazing, doesn’t it? Twilight and her friends spent all day preparing for it.”

Blueblood inwardly rolled his eyes. He pasted on a fake grin, “It looks marvelous.” Then he took a glance at Twilight. He couldn’t help but smile dreamily. The purple mare sported the very same dress from the Gala before, and with her mane styled the way it was at her coronation, added to her divine beauty.  Twilight smiled at him, although he could tell that she was rather uncomfortable around him. He didn’t blame her.

Blueblood gently took Twilight’s hoof and planted a soft kiss on it. “You look gorgeous, my sweet princess.” He commented in a suave tone.

Twilight flinched, recoiling her hoof. She giggled nervously, “Oh, hello Blueblood. You look…erm…handsome.”

Cadence rolled her eyes at Blueblood’s attempts to flirt. Changing the subject, she looked down and noticed that her cup of punch was empty. She glanced at Luna’s cup, it too was rather low. With a sly grin, she looked at Blueblood and said, “Hey Blueblood. Luna and I appear to have run out of punch. Could you get us some more, please?” She asked in a musical voice.

Blueblood was reluctant, but of course he wanted to make a good impression for Twilight. He half glared, half smiled at Cadence and said with a clenched jaw, “Of course I can. I’ll be back shortly.” The unicorn levitated the drinks up and started to walk away, but not before shooting a suggestive wink toward Twilight. “Excuse me, ladies.”

The prince growled to himself as he trotted away from the four Princesses. “That Cadence! Trying to ruin my chances with Twilight. Well, forget her. I don’t want to waste precious time dealing with that mare while I try to wed my darling paramour.” While he was grumbling to himself, he didn’t notice the blue unicorn with a light gray and blue mane walking directly towards him.

Seconds later the two distracted ponies collided, which immediately jerked Blueblood out of his conflicted reverie. The young mare who had bumped into him snarled, “Watch where you’re going! I was only minding my own business walking here, why don’t you mind your own for a change?”

“I-I’m sorry miss, I wasn’t watching where I was going...and I—“ Blueblood was desperately trying to be reasonable with this mare. Ever since his encounter with Rarity he had learned his lesson and wanted to start his life anew, starting with a few simple resolutions; manners and decency.

The unicorn mare stood up and gasped as she noticed that the punch that Blueblood had previously been holding in his magical grip had spilled all over her gaudy purple dress. She squealed in dismay, “Look what you’d done to Trixie’s beautiful dress! She spent all day and night working on it!”

Trixie. What an unusual name for a pony, Blueblood thought. Then he got a chance to look directly into her purple eyes. So tantalizing…so beautiful…so…

Wait, could it be? Was he falling for this fallen mare? No, he couldn’t be!! He was destined to fall for Twilight, not a strange mare off the streets! Literally, she looked like she had been living off whatever she could find in the streets. The dress wasn’t very accurate either; it was poorly designed and several areas had been crudely sewn in.

Blueblood snapped out of his trance when Trixie began speaking again. “Hello?! Anypony in there?! Why won’t you answer Trixie?!” She said, seething.

“I’m truly sorry miss, I really am…but I can’t help but stare into your beautiful eyes. The heavens must have spent eternities carefully and specifically designing them if they are that gorgeous.” Blueblood said, smirking.

Trixie frowned in confusion. “Really?” She tried to mask the growing blush on her cheeks by turning her head away.

“But of course,” Blueblood whispered. Internally his mind was reeling. Was he really going to hook in this mare? Obviously he liked her, and apparently she just now realized how much of a gentlecolt he was being. Was he going to forget about his feelings for Twilight and marry this mare instead?

Before Trixie could respond a voice called out to Blueblood. “Oh joy! Miss Rarity, come with me, I must introduce you to me friend, Blueblood!” Fancy Pants trotted over, a horrified Rarity galloping after him.

When she locked eyes with him, she quietly growled. “You.”

“You know him, dear?” Fancy Pants inquired, raising a brow.

“Oh, I know him alright.” Rarity gritted her teeth together in resentment. She noticed Trixie standing by and gasped, “Were you two…talking?!”

Trixie rolled her eyes, “Of course we were, Raggity. What, is Trixie forbidden from interacting with other ponies now?”

“It’s Rarity, and no, I’m perfectly fine with you bedeviling others with your boasting. Especially this brat over here.” The white unicorn spat, glaring at Blueblood.

“Please, miss Rarity, believe me when I say that I’ve changed! I no longer treat ponies like dirt; ever since the last time we met I decided to change my ways!” Blueblood beseeched.

“What is going on over here?!” Twilight exclaimed, trotting over. “I heard the commotion. What is causing you all distress?” Then she saw Trixie. “Oh, hello Trixie…I didn’t expect you to accept my invitation.”

Trixie scoffed and smiled shrewdly, “Trixie wouldn’t miss an opportunity to go to the Gala for the world.”

Suddenly, Pinkie Pie stopped singing the Pony Pokey song (much to the ponies’ reliefs) and momentarily went backstage. When she returned she had a huge grin on her face as she spoke into the mic. “Be right back, Everypony! Soon I’ll be back with…wait for it…PINKIE PIE’S SPECIAL SUPER DELUXE PARTY PUNCH!!”

The audience was silent.

Pinkie Pie ignored the silence and bounced backstage. A few moments later she arrived, pushing a large tray with a massive bowl of oddly-colored punch. Unbeknownst to Pinkie Pie, when she had made the punch earlier that day, she had accidentally put in one too many cups of alcohol. At every party Pinkie always spiked the punch with a few drops of alcohol just to get the ponies drunk, dizzy, and dopey just for the entertainment. No evil intent intended, it was purely for fun, which is the without-a-doubt definition of Pinkie Pie. This time she had unknowingly added too much to her brew, which would soon cause more damage than she bargained for.

A crowd of ponies licked their lips in incipient anticipation, trotting over to get a shot of the punch. At sonic speed Pinkie Pie raced over to the four arguing ponies with a tray of her special punch in hand…oh, I mean hoof.

“Come on you guys! Join in on the fun!” The eager pink pony offered them each a drink. Fancy Pants refused, saying that he wasn’t a fan of punch. However, Rarity and Twilight were happy to accept the punch, downing their drinks in a few seconds, to which Pinkie was quick to refill them.

“Well? What about you two? Ya want some punch?” Pinkie Pie said, smiling at Blueblood and Trixie. Hesitantly Trixie took the cup of punch and took a sip. Blueblood did the same, wanting to make an impression on Trixie in order to win her heart. Surely she was still mad at him from earlier.

Within minutes, the four ponies were drunk out of their minds. Twilight, Rarity, and Trixie had even joined Pinkie onstage. They all sung the Pony Pokey song together, while out of tune and symphony  the audience of intoxicated ponies below were dancing and cheering and applauding. About half an hour later the four mares had finished their song and went offstage to meet with a very much wasted Blueblood.

Celestia, Luna, and Cadence watched with worry as one by one, Blueblood led Twilight, Rarity, Pinkie, and eventually Trixie into the restrooms. Every few minutes one mare would step out and another mare would go in. Cadence was about to jump into action when she felt Celestia stop her. Cadence turned to face Celestia in askance.

The white alicorn merely shook her head, “It’s too late now. They’re too drunk out of their minds to understand what they’re doing. Eventually the consequences will catch up to them once they realize their mistake.”

“Whatever do you mean, sister? Cadence is right; surely we should stop them before this gets out of control!” Luna defensively protested.

Celestia nodded, “Trust me, Luna. Even though this situation looks bad, I assure you, Twilight and her friends have one more lesson to learn.”

Not So Good Morning

Twilight slowly awoke with a groan, a massive pounding sensation inside her head. As she opened her eyes, flashes of events that had happened last night flitted before her. Her eyes widened and she immediately sat up, realizing where she was. She was in her room, lying on her massive queen-sized bed. The purple mare suddenly lurched forward, gripping her stomach. She jumped off the bed, galloping for the nearest bathroom. The alcohol and food that she had ingested from the night before practically spewed from her mouth and into the sink bowl.

After a few minutes, Twilight’s stomach had emptied itself, yet she couldn’t stop dry heaving. Her eyes burned and stung; it was difficult to see herself in the mirror. The pounding in her head only increased as she continued to heave into the sink.

As she was throwing up, a sleepy yet concerned Spike walked in. “Twilight? What’s wrong? Are you feeling okay?” The scaly purple dragon inquired with worry, patting his alicorn companion on the back sympathetically.

Twilight didn’t answer. The dry heaves had stopped, but she was coughing and wheezing violently. “Oh Spike…I think I overdid it last night.” She moaned.

Spike frowned, “I told you that drinking Pinkie’s punch was a bad idea! Nobody ever listens to Spike.” He mumbled to himself, shaking his head in disapproval.

Twilight whimpered. “What am I gonna do, Spike? Today I have a meeting with the Princesses. I can’t go down there feeling ill like this!”

Spike sighed, “Alright, alright, relax. How about you just rest for today and I’ll talk to Celestia and Luna. They’ll understand, I promise.” He reassured.

Twilight smiled at him in a sickly manner. “Thanks Spike.”

“No problem Twi, but can you brush your teeth first? Your breath smells like puke.”

At Sugarcube Corner, Pinkie Pie merrily bounced into the kitchen to prepare today’s new batch of sweets. Albeit she had woken up feeling a little sick and dizzy, the pink pony felt that she would be just fine. As she readied the ingredients for the cupcakes, her stomach churned uneasily.

“Oh, I bet I’m just hungry. A cupcake will definitely cheer me up!” Pinkie managed to fix a batch of delicious chocolate cupcakes and place them in the oven. Minutes later she heard a ‘ding’ and readily took them out. She didn’t even bother to let them cool before shoving one into her mouth. She grinned as she munched on the pastry, happily licking the crumbs from her lips.

But her smile quickly faded as the recurring tummy ache returned, with a vengeance. She swallowed her bite of the cupcake and began to heave convulsively. The bitter taste of copper filled her mouth and a steadily rising sensation crept up her throat. At that moment Pinkie’s body reacted to these unusual symptoms in one of the only ways it could.

Before the pink pony could reassert control, the cupcake she had just eaten as well as foods from the night before was expelled from her body uncontrollably. In a matter of moments Pinkie’s entire breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert from the day before went spouting from her stomach.

When she had finished, Pinkie stared in horror and surprise at the chunky, slushy mire on the floor in front of her. It smelled horrible, and looked incredibly gross. Before she could make a move Mrs. Cake trotted in.

“Pinkie, I—“ Mrs. Cake froze when she saw the mess on the floor. She looked up only to see a tearful Pinkie staring right back at her.

“Oh Mrs. Cake, I’m so sorry! The cupcakes! And…and…” The sorrowful pink pony stammered, only to start vomiting again.

Mrs. Cake stared slack-jawed, helplessly watching her employee aggressively puke on her floor. She waited until she was sure that Pinkie was finished vomiting to console her. “Oh Pinkie dear, are you not feeling well? I hope you’re not catching anything nasty. Why don’t you go upstairs and I’ll clean this up. You need to rest.” The blue baker whispered soothingly.

“But…but…” Pinkie sighed, her mane flattening slightly. “Okay…” She wearily trotted upstairs. Before she could make it to the top her stomach reacted again and she found herself dashing toward the bathroom.

Mrs. Cake cringed as she heard the unmistakable dry heaves of her employee from the upper floor. She felt awful for the poor mare. Maybe she had been working her too hard lately. The maternal blue pony then got out a mop and some cleaning supplies, ready to clean up Pinkie’s mess.

At the Carousel Boutique, Rarity was in a similar state to Twilight and Pinkie. The bathroom had been occupied since early that morning, a cacophony of moans, grunts, and heaves coming from behind the door.

Sweetie Belle, afraid and alone, was downstairs, coloring and trying to distract herself from the disgusting sounds coming from upstairs. She whimpered and grimaced with every sound, hardly even paying attention to her drawing. Copious tears streamed down the filly’s face in profusion as she silently hoped that her sister would be okay in the end.

Snips heard a knock at the door. Scratch that. He heard very, very loud rapping and pounding at the door that immediately woke him up. Curious, the green unicorn colt groggily trotted to the door and opened it a crack. There stood Trixie, a very pale and wane-looking Trixie, to be frank. Her hair was in disarray and several strands of errant hair went askew. Her cheeks had a green tinge to them and her chin and chest were covered in old encrusted flakes of a brownish substance.

“May Trixie come in? She’s feeling very unwell.”

Sickness, Shock, and Solutions

Prince Blueblood awoke to a massive hangover; quite possibly the most severe one he had ever had. An awkward groan escaped his pale lips as he lifted his head from the sink pillow. He must have had too much to drink last night. Grumbling, he rolled off of the bed and staggered to the bathroom to freshen up. He looked in the mirror and saw an awful sight; his hair was disheveled and tangled, his cheeks looked pale and wane, and dark lines were chiseled beneath his eyes. The furious pounding in his head wasn't helping much either.

Sighing, the prince stepped into the shower and twisted the knobs, letting a cascade of water immerse him. Wetting his mane, he squeezed a dollop of shampoo into his hoof and thoroughly massaged it into his scalp until he was sure he had gotten to the roots. He rinsed the suds out of his mane and repeated the process with his tail, then his fur. When he had finished, he turned off the water and stepped out to dry off.

After buffing himself dry with a towel, he levitated a brush up to his face to untangle the knots that were knit into his mane and tail. It took a few minutes, but he managed. Gelling his hair back and tying on his prized tie, Blueblood completed his morning routine by brushing his teeth.

As soon as he was done, the prince trotted out of his room and into the long corridors of the castle. Although he had taken some medicine to remedy his pounding headache, it was still there. He winced, but ignored it. Blueblood walked into the dining room to eat some breakfast. When he got there, he noticed that Spike, Princess Twilight’s assistant, walking out, holding a tray of food in his claws.

“Good morning Blueblood…” Spike greeted, albeit warily.

“Good morning, Spike. May I ask where Princess Twilight may be?” Blueblood inquired. He desperately wanted to find her and apologize for what had happened the night before, and then he wanted to woo her into wedding him.

“She’s in her room sleeping. She’s suddenly really sick. I think it must have been something she did last night. She asked me to bring her a light breakfast and then talk to the Princesses about their meeting.” Spike explained, eyeing Blueblood. He definitely suspected something surreptitious about him, but he wasn’t going to be too hard on him.

“Oh…that’s too bad.” Blueblood replied, nonchalantly looking around the room. “Blast! She’s sick. Oh well, maybe if she feels better later I can entice he into becoming my bride.” He thought.

“So…I guess I’ll see you later, Blueblood.” Spike said, walking past the prince.

Blueblood sighed and took a seat at the dining table, where a waiter immediately appeared next to him to serve him. After ordering a small breakfast of tangerine tossed salad, Blueblood got to thinking. He wondered, whatever happened to that Trixie girl he met at the Gala last night? He faintly remembered kissing her at one point along with three other mares, but the rest of the night was a blur.

He had passed out before he could remember anything else. As he ate his breakfast, he was determined to find this mare. But then he remembered Twilight. He loved Trixie, but he simply couldn’t marry a dirty old pony off of the street! At least Twilight was already of royalty. But there was something about Trixie that made his heart grow wings and soar.

Conflicted, he ate his meal in thoughtful silence.

Twilight lay in her bed, eyes closed and muscles relaxed. She felt so confused. After having a bout with her sudden morning sickness, her stomach finally calmed down and allowed her to rest. The princess kept having random flashes of the events from the night before. She remembered chatting with her friends and the Princesses, having such a good time until Blueblood appeared. She could remember little bits and pieces of the argument between her, Trixie, Rarity, and Blueblood, then Pinkie came into the picture with glasses of her special punch. But everything after that was a blur.

Visions of her ravenously straddling and grappling Blueblood while passionately twirling tongues with him flitted past her. She couldn’t quite figure out where she was or when this had actually happened, or if she was having some kind of weird Déjà vu. Twilight felt sick to her stomach again, but thankfully she didn’t feel like she was going to throw up again.

“Twilight?” A familiar voice spoke. Twilight opened her eyes. Spike had returned with some food for her; a light meal of toast, rice water, and orange juice. The purple dragon smiled at her, “Here Twi. I got you some breakfast like you asked. I also requested the chef to make the toast extra light, just like you always want it.”

“Thank you, Spike.” Twilight said, smiling weakly as she took the tray and nibbled on the toast. “What’s with the rice water though?”

“Oh, the chef said that it would make you feel better. And the orange juice would give you some energy to get you through the day.”

“Oh, good. Thank you again, Spike.”

“No problem, Twi. I’m gonna go talk to the Princesses now. You just relax, ‘kay?”

“…Okay, Spike. Don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine.”

With that Spike left the room. Twilight smiled. “He’s such a good friend.” Her smile faded, however, replacing it with a slight frown. She sighed, putting her hoof to her forehead, “Just what exactly happened last night that could have caused all these weird visions?” The image of her and Blueblood making out was stuck in her head. It kept replaying itself over and over like a broken record player.

Overwhelmed, the purple alicorn, finished her toast and took a few sips of rice water and orange juice before she set the tray aside and curled up underneath her blanket, clutching her stomach. For some reason she had an emotional attachment to her stomach, as if she was trying to protect it from the world. Whimpering, Twilight whispered to herself, “Am I going crazy again?” She slowly rubbed circles across the surface of her stomach. “Oh Celestia. When will it end?”

“Oh Gummy, what am I gonna do?” A straight-maned Pinkie Pie asked, her head diving over the toilet bowl as her stomach revolted again. Her alligator companion blinked twice, remaining silent. Pinkie sighed, “No Gummy…I don’t think so.” She said, as if she was having a full-on conversation with her gator friend.

“What is causing all of this? Did I put too much sugar in that cupcake? No, that couldn’t be true. You can never get enough sugar!” Pinkie exclaimed. Her stomach was finally starting to simmer down, much to her relief. She had vomited many times before due to eating too many sweets, but this was different. She didn’t feel the same.

Flushing the toilet, the pink pony trotted out of the bathroom and went to lay down on her bed. Gummy attempted to hop up on the mattress with her, but she pushed him back down. “Sorry Gummy, but I don’t want to get you sick if I’m sick too.” She croaked. Gummy merely blinked and walked away.

Pinkie heaved another deep sigh, splaying out across the bed. “Was it something in the punch?” She thought all of a sudden. No, it couldn’t be. She had only put in a little! …Okay, maybe she put in a little more than she should have, but she didn’t think that it would make a difference.

Suddenly Pinkie shot up, her mane thriving as it returned to its normal, poofy state. A memory from the previous night had just occurred to her. She was at the Gala, in one of the restrooms, hugging and kissing mounting a stallion. She couldn’t make out who he was, but she knew that they were definitely doing something naughty together. Pinkie blushed. She couldn’t believe she had done that!

“Oh no…what have I done? I need to talk to someone about this! Maybe Twilight would understand…she might know who that stallion was! She was greeting everyone at the Gala, surely she’ll know who he might be if I tell her!” Pinkie exclaimed. She jumped off the bed, ready to zoom off towards the closest train station until her stomach reacted once again. Gagging, Pinkie rushed back to the bathroom.

“Maybe I’ll tell her later…”

“Rarity? Are you okay?” Sweetie Belle’s inquisitive voice called out as she knocked on the bathroom door. After a little while things had gone quiet and it worried her. The little filly knocked again, only to hear Rarity scream, “I’M FINE, SWEETIE BELLE! JUST…LEAVE ME ALONE FOR NOW!”

“Oh…okay…” Sweetie said, smiling sneakily. She pretended to trot away, stomping the floor with her hooves. Rarity went quiet, thinking that maybe her sister would leave her in peace now. All of a sudden the filly burst through the door, “Aha! I—“

Sweetie Belle froze and stared in rapt fascination and utter shock at her sister. Rarity was sitting on the toilet, holding a tiny stick in her hand. A tiny pink plus sign, she could make out.

“Rarity, what are you doing?” Sweetie asked, wanting to delve deeper into the mystery.

“N-nothing, Sweetie Belle. Why don’t you just go wait out in the hall; I’ll…I’ll explain later.”

The unicorn filly nodded, her eyes fixated on the tiny little stick. What did the plus sign mean? She walked out of the bathroom and trotted down the stairs in a daze.

“And so…now…Trixie thinks that she is…eh…expecting.” Trixie explained to the chubby, tan-colored unicorn with red hair and yellow eyes.

“Oh my goodness, you poor thing!” Roses, Snips’ mother, exclaimed sympathetically. She pulled the blue unicorn into a hug, “When did this happen?”

“Trixie is unsure about that…” Trixie sighed.

“What do you mean? Wait…do you know the father?” Roses asked with wide eyes.

Trixie shook her head, earning another wail from the tan pony. “Oh honey! I’m so sorry!” Another tight hug.

“So…Trixie’s gonna have a baby? Can I be the godfather?!” Snips yelled excitedly.

“I…Trixie will think about it.” Trixie whispered, putting a hoof on her stomach. “Trixie cannot believe that this is happening. Tomorrow Trixie will schedule a doctor’s appointment.”

“That’s a wonderful idea, honey. Now would you like something to eat? You’re welcome to stay with us for as long as you need!” Roses offered.

“Trixie would very much appreciate the hospitality, yes. Thank you.” The blue unicorn smiled uneasily, tapping her stomach with the tip of her hoof. As soon as Roses and an excited Snips left the room Trixie thought aloud, "How am I going to do this? Will I be a good mother? I was a terrible magician...oh Celestia, I'm gonna be a horrible mother."

She shook her head, "What am I thinking?! I can't be pregnant! I've never slept with anypony before. It can't be possible...but what about those visions I had this morning? What did they mean?" Sighing, Trixie looked down at her belly again. "If there is a little foal in there...and if you can hear me...I just want to say I'm sorry." A single tear seeped out of the border of her eye, dripping onto her stomach.

Package Deal

“Dear Sister, I’m beginning to worry about Twilight.”

Celestia craned her neck. “She’s fine, Luna. She’s just been a little under the weather.”

“No, I don’t think so. I mean...her symptoms are not of any sickness I have seen before. They are rather…odd.” The princess of the night simply put.

The elder white alicorn sighed softly, “I…I shouldn’t say anything.”

Luna raised a brow curiously. “Why? Are you hiding something from me, Tia?”

“Well…yes, I am. I don’t think I can tell you, though. I don’t think you’d be very fond of the news.” Celestia replied, bowing her head slightly.

“Sister, you can tell me. I’m listening, you know.”

“I think that the Royal family will be welcoming yet another addition within a year or so. At least four, to be exact.”

Twilight flushed the toilet for what felt like the fifth time that morning, watching her breakfast swirl down the drain wearily. It had been a week since the night of the Gala and she had shown no signs of improvement. She had missed two meetings with the Princesses and knew that she just couldn't miss another.

Another thing that worried the Princess was that she appeared to have gained at least a half-pound or so. This was odd, since her stomach had refused to eat anything solid for days and if it did, it would revolt minutes later. Not to mention she found it hard to walk; her hooves would ache slightly, as if she had just ran a marathon. Needless to say she wasn’t improving in the least bit.

She sighed and went to the sink to brush her teeth, again. As she did so, Twilight backed away from the mirror a few feet and stood up on her hind legs to examine her stomach. Indeed, it looked bigger than before, but not too concerning.

“It’s just extra weight,” Twilight assured, not quite believing herself. “I’ll work it off soon.” She was about to leave when she hesitated. “Unless…no, I don’t think so. It must be retained water…Then again…UGH!”

The Princess stormed out of the bathroom irritably, stomping over to Spike’s bed, where the little dragon had been sleeping in that morning. She nudged him gently, yet firmly, effectively waking him from his dream. “Spike, wake up, we’re going to the hospital.”

“Wha? Why? Is something wrong?” Spike groggily replied, rubbing his eyes to scope the sleep out of them.

“No, nothing is seriously wrong, we just need to go. I think I’m going to get a checkup, this sickness I’ve had hasn't improved in the least bit and I’m beginning to worry.” The purple mare answered, packing her saddlebag.

“’Bout time,” Spike mumbled, climbing out of bed. Knowingly, he asked, “Train, teleportation, or wings?”

“Flying is out of the question; I can hardly even walk because my hooves are so swollen. And you already know that my magic weakens when I’m sick. I don’t think I have much energy to summon a teleportation spell, much less levitation.” Twilight explained.

“Wow, what’s gotten you so whiny all of a sudden?” As soon as he finished his sentence Twilight shot him a frustrated glare. Spike raised a brow, “And moody?”

Twilight’s glare softened. She sighed. “I’m sorry Spike, my emotions have been out of control lately and I find myself angry or sad at times. I don’t know why.”

“It’s okay Twilight; I know you've been frustrated for the past week. You've been stressing yourself too much with worry and paranoia; you just need to relax.” Spike replied.

Twilight smiled. “Alright then, all we have left is the train. We’re taking the train. Spike, can you please go get a few guards? I don’t really feel like walking.”

Spike rolled his eyes and walked into the hall to oblige his surrogate mother/sister’s demands.

Trixie hurriedly trotted into Ponyville’s non-emergency doctor’s clinic, biting her lip nervously. It had been a rough week; she had to deal with the constant morning sickness, migraines, and slightly achy joints for several days before a doctor could squeeze in an appointment for her.

The blue unicorn approached the reception counter, saying, “I’m here for an appointment with Doctor Feelgood.”

The receptionist smiled, “Alright, just fill out a few applications and we’ll call you in as soon as he’s ready.” She passed a pen and a clipboard filled with papers to Trixie, who held them in her magical grip.

Trixie did as she was asked; quickly signing the application and briskly giving it back to the receptionist before pacing into the waiting room. As soon as she left, however, another unicorn wearing a cape (which masked her identity) walked in and went to the counter.

“Hello, I’m here for Doctor Feelgood.” She whispered in her apparent deep accent.

The receptionist nodded, “He’s booked for now and until nine thirty, but I can fit you in for ten fifteen if you can wait that long.”

“That’s quite alright with me,” The unicorn agreed almost immediately. She too was given an application to sign and in moment she too rushed into the waiting room.

Seconds later another mare burst in, this one looking very frantic. Her familiar poofy pink mane and pink fur was easily recognizable. Pinkie Pie galloped to the counter, breathing heavily. “I’m *pant* here for *pant* Doctor *pant* Feelgood!” She wheezed.

“Well you’re not so much in luck anymore; he’s currently already booked for two other ponies. However, if you’re patient enough you can wait in the waiting room until ten thirty, if you want.” The receptionist calmly replied, pushing an application paper towards the pink pony.

“T-that’s fine! I can wait! I’ve watched paint dry for over five hours before, seriously! I’ll tell you the rest of the story later!” Pinkie finished the application within seconds and then zoomed off to the waiting room.

A few minutes later a royal guard entered the hospital doors, wordlessly approaching the front desk. The receptionist was frightened.

“M-may I help you, sir?” She squeaked.

“Princess Twilight needs to see a doctor immediately. She’s been feeling ill for a week now and she shows no signs of improvement.” The guard demanded.

The receptionist nodded her head rapidly, “O-of course! Bring her in!”

The guard went back outside and returned moments later, another guard with him. In between the two guards was Twilight, clearly embarrassed while Spike walked next to her. The purple mare cautiously walked towards the counter and meekly said, “Good morning…I’m so sorry to interrupt anything, but I’m afraid I’ll need to see a doctor. I need to get checked in case I have anything seriously wrong with me.”

The receptionist quickly nodded, “Right away, your majesty! Come with me, I shall bring you to a private room.”

Twilight nodded and dismissed the guards with a single gesture of her hoof before following the receptionist down the hall.

Trixie nervously clapped her hooves together as she waited to be called in. It felt like it had been an eternity until finally Doctor Feelgood poked his head out from behind the door.

“A Ms. Trixie Starsparkle? Are you here?” He called.

“Y-yes, Trixie is here.” The blue mare responded, getting to her hooves. She followed the doctor down the hall, only to pass a cream-colored mare with a long brown mane, along with her obnoxious brown-furred son. It was quite obvious that she was expecting, as her hefty, well-rounded stomach hung below her waist as she walked.

“Mom! Mom! Can we please get McRoyalty Burger on the way home?! Please?!” The brown colt inquired pleadingly as he followed his heavily pregnant mother to the exit.

“Button, stop asking me! I already said yes!!” She responded with a slight hint of annoyance in her tone.

Trixie hadn’t realized that she had stopped following the doctor until he called her name again. “Trixie? Are you coming?” He asked. Trixie snapped out of her reverie and nodded, picking up her pace. They finally reached a room where Trixie was ordered to sit in a chair while the doctor examined her and asked questions.

“Now, Miss Trixie, what seems to be the problem here?” The yellow stallion with a brown mane and mustache inquired, folding his hooves together.

Trixie gulped. “I…I…um…Trixie has been feeling…unwell…and she thinks that she might be…gravid.” She delicately stammered out.

The doctor’s stoic pokerface twitched into a smile, understanding what the mare was trying to say. “Ah, don’t be embarrassed. We get a lot of calls from concerned ponies thinking that they’re expectant. Don’t worry; I’m sure we can shed some light on this claim rather quickly. But let’s not jump to conclusions immediately. Now, please lay back and relax, make yourself comfortable and I’ll do the rest, alright?”

Trixie nodded and did as she was directed to, leaning back into the chair as she relaxed her tightened muscles. She closed her eyes, waiting to feel the touch of the doctor. Instead, she was surprised to feel coldness on her belly, and some kind of liquid being poured on top. She yelped in surprise, shivering at the chilly sensation. When she opened her eyes, she noticed the doctor squeezing a tube of a clear blue substance over her belly.

“I know it’s cold, but you need to stay still.” The doctor said. Trixie watched as he picked up a small transducer and slowly moved it across her belly, gliding it around in different areas, particularly around the small bulge that had formed over the week.

A monitor that stood next to the chair lit up and an image gradually came into view on the screen. What appeared to be a small pony fetus that had to be at least a few days into development was revealed on the screen, leaving Trixie to stew in confusion. What was that thing, and why was it inside her?

The doctor grinned, “There it is.”

Trixie bit her lip, “What…”

“Oh, of course.” The doctor chuckled. “That’s your foal.”

Trixie trotted out of the examining room in pure shock. Her magical grip held a folder filled with prenatal vitamins, a few pamphlets, a few copies of the ultrasound pictures, among other personal items recommended by the doctor. She couldn’t believe that it was true. There really was a tiny pony growing inside of her. It was small, and it was going to take a while before it grew into the next stage of development, but it was still a living creature nonetheless.

Her eyes wide, her jaw slacking, and her heart racing, Trixie shakily took a few intakes of well-needed air. She found it hard to breath, as reality started to set in. “How is Roses going to react? Will she kick me out? She already has to deal with Snips and whoever her husband is; will she allow me and the foal to stay as well. She couldn’t possibly agree to that, two more mouths to feed? I certainly can’t afford my own home, much less a foal. I don’t even have a job! And even if I did, I couldn’t possibly raise a foal on my own! I don’t even know who the father is.” She thought aloud. Trixie was so caught up in her own thoughts that she didn’t even see herself bump into somepony.

“Sorry, I—“ Trixie looked up at the caped figure in front of her and gasped. It was Rarity. What was she doing here?!

“….You. What are you doing here? What am I doing here? No, what are you doing here?!” The two mares quarreled in unison.

“Me? I’m here for an appointment, thank you very much! Now may I ask why YOU are here?” Rarity snarled. Her eyes locked on the folder in Trixie’s telekinetic  grip, knitting the white unicorn’s eyebrows into a frown. “What have you got there?”

“None of your business, for both answers.” Trixie replied tartly.

As soon as she left, Rarity scowled. “Well, she certainly has an attitude.” The fancy fashionista trotted over to the door of the same room Trixie had emerged from and rapped her hoof repeatedly until Doctor Feelgood answered.

“May I help you?” He offered.

“It’s ten fifteen, and I was told that you were going to be prepared for me at that time. Now, if I may ask, are you?” Rarity asked.

“Well…I suppose. Come on in, miss…?”

“Rarity.”

“Rarity. Alright then, why don’t you take a seat over there and we’ll talk.”

*20 minutes later*

“Well Miss Rarity, I’m afraid that you are, as you claimed, pregnant.” Doctor Feelgood confirmed.

Rarity sighed, “I was afraid of that. Oh sweet Celestia, what am I going to do? What will my friends think? That I just randomly slept with a stallion I don’t even know and now I’m going to have his baby as a single mare? And what about Sweetie Belle, what am I going to tell her; that she’s going to be an aunt at age eight?!” Shrieked the white unicorn.

“Miss Rarity, you need to calm down, if your blood pressure rises higher than it should you will—“

*plop*

“—pass out.” The doctor sighed and pressed a button on his pager and said into the small device, “Nurse, get me a wheelchair. We’ve got a K.O. in room seven. Again.”

“So what is the diagnosis, Doctor? Am I retaining water? Do I have some kind of magical virus? Or do I have a foreign disease?! Or—“ Twilight was hushed by Doctor Feelgood as he placed his hoof over her lips.

“Shh. Don’t worry, I’m sure we’ll get to the bottom of this mystery. Now just lay back and relax and I’ll do an ultrasound to see if you’re retaining water or not.” He said gently but firmly. Twilight nodded and laid back into the chair, averting her eyes to avoid the indignities below. It was bad enough that she had to see a doctor, but requiring an ultrasound? The purple Princess was mortified.

What if there was something truly wrong with her that would prevent her from performing her duties as royalty?

Twilight suddenly shivered as she felt a cold liquid pour onto her stomach. Lifting her head she noticed the doctor squeezing some sort of translucent blue goo onto her stomach. Then he picked up a transducer and slowly moved the device across the surface of her protuberant belly.

The screen on the monitor next to the chair lit up and an image appeared, an ultrasound. Although the image was in black and white Twilight could vaguely identify what looked like a blob in the middle of the picture. She feared the worst; she dreaded that she had some kind of tumor growing within her.

Doctor Feelgood squinted to get a better look and smiled when he realized what he was viewing. Turning off the monitor, he turned to Twilight and said as he wiped the goo off her stomach with a cloth, “Congratulations, Princess! You’re going to be a mother.”

Twilight’s jaw dropped. She was going to be a…a…m-mother?! No, it couldn’t be possible…but it would explain the unusual symptoms. “Are you sure??” She questioned, wanting to make sure that the doctor was playing some kind of sick joke.

Doctor Feelgood shrugged, “The monitor doesn’t lie.”

“Oh no…what am I going to do? I can’t raise a foal! I’ve got too much on my hooves, especially now! There’s no way I can manage!” Twilight squealed, a few errant strands of her mane going wildly askew.

The doctor placed his hoof on the alicorn’s back and said cheerfully, “I wouldn’t worry too much, Princess. You’ll be just fine! Also, doesn’t this make you queen rather than Princess? I mean, you’re the first alicorn in thousands of years to have a foal. Oh boy, this week’s confidential is going to make a profit!”

Twilight screamed again.

Pinkie Pie bounced into Sugar Cube Corner excitedly; she had just gotten the big news from the doctor and she couldn’t be happier. She couldn’t believe that she had worried so much. This was gonna be a breeze!

At the moment Mr. and Mrs. Cake were cleaning up after a busy morning, preparing themselves for the afternoon sugar rush, as they called it. They both turned their heads and smiled for the first time in days when they saw their employer/adopted daughter burst through the doors with a wide grin on her pink face.

“Oh hello dear, I assume the doctor’s went well?” Mrs. Cake asked.

Pinkie giggled, “Oh yeah! It was awesome! In fact, I just got the most amazing news in the whole wide world! It’s even better than cupcakes!”

“Well if it’s better than cupcakes, than I’m certainly interested. Nothing’s better than cupcakes.” Mr. Cake said jokingly.

“So what’s the news, dearie?” Mrs. Cake enthused curiously.

Pinkie squealed before saying, “I’m gonna have a foal!!” She beamed, standing up on her hind legs to expose her small yet well-rounded stomach.

The smiles on both of the Baker’s faces instantly disappeared. Mrs. Cake stood slack-jawed while her husband fainted in shock. Pinkie licked her lips, “Is anypony else craving a cupcake right about now?”

Pinkie's Foal Shower, Part 1

Twilight Sparkle woke up the next morning inside Golden Oaks library, lying in her bed. In a daze she slowly sat up, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. She felt so confused; everything was wonky and out of place. She managed to jerk herself out of bed and get to her hooves.

Twilight’s nose twitched. A faint smell wafted up from downstairs that made her stomach churn. Her mouth was then filled with the bitter taste of copper as bile rose in her throat. She dashed for the bathroom and emptied whatever her dinner was from last night into the bowl.

After cleaning herself up, Twilight trotted downstairs only to find Spike standing over the stove, preparing what appeared to be pancakes. Although they looked and smelled delicious, Twilight couldn’t help but grimace as her stomach disagreed. She took a seat at the table just as Spike turned around.

“Oh, good morning Twilight. I made pancakes.” Spike greeted, smiling kindly.

“Good morning Spike and thanks, but no thank you. I’m not very hungry.” Twilight replied, feeling a stab of guilt. Her friend had gone to all that trouble making pancakes and now she was telling him she wasn’t hungry. She felt awful.

Spike shrugged, “it’s cool. I figured you wouldn’t be hungry anyway. You passed out at the doctor’s yesterday and he…told me why…y’know.”

Twilight’s smile faltered. “So you know?”

“Yeah. Are you really gonna have a foal, or was he just yanking at my leg?”

“No, it’s true. I am gonna have a foal, but it’ll be a while. Probably another ten months or so.” Twilight answered.

“I can wait. In fact, I think this is pretty exciting. I mean…I’m gonna be a big brother. Or a cousin. Or an uncle. Or am I the dad?” Suddenly the little dragon went into panic mode. “Does this mean I’m gonna be a dad?!”

Twilight couldn’t help but giggle. “No Spike, you’re not going to have to worry about being the dad. You can be whatever you wanna be, I’m sure the baby will love you no matter who you are to it.”

Spike smiled lop-sidedly, “Thanks Twi. Maybe I’ll be ‘Big Brother Uncle Cousin Spike’.” He chuckled at his own joke.

Suddenly the doorbell rang, followed by some knocking. Twilight was about to get up to answer it but Spike stopped her. “No no, let me handle this. You’re pregnant, afterall!” He reminded, running to the door. Twilight rolled her eyes.

The scaly little dragon opened the door, grinning when he saw the pony standing there. It was Rarity, smiling but at the same time looking quite nervous. Spike drooled, “H-hey Rarity…Come on in.” He made a welcoming gesture inside, to which Rarity immediately obliged.

“Thank you, Spikey-Wikey. Is Twilight around? I…I need to talk to her in private.” The diva pony was obviously agitated as she jogged in place. Spike nodded, “She’s in the kitchen.”

Rarity galloped into the kitchen, sighing in relief once she saw her friend. “Oh Twilight, is it alright if I…eh…talk to you about something?”

Twilight nodded. “Of course! I also have something I need to talk about, but you can go first. Mine can wait.” She bit her lip self-consciously; was she really going to do this? Nopony else knew except Spike and the doctor. She had no idea how Rarity would react, whether she freaked out or would be consoling and sympathetic.

Rarity took a seat next to her friend and took a deep breath. “Do you promise not to tell anypony else if I tell you?”

“Of course, Rarity. I’d never—“

“Pinkie Promise?”

Twilight rolled her eyes. “Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye. There, I promise I won’t tell.”

Rarity rubbed her hooves together fretfully. “Well…I’m…I don’t quite know how to tell you this but…” The white unicorn began to tear up. Tears began to cascade down her cheeks in profusion as she uttered, “I’m pregnant.”

Twilight was taken aback by the news. Was it really true? She and Rarity were expecting foals at the same time? Was that even possible? Seeing how upset her friend was, Twilight smiled and said lightheartedly, “Well, isn’t that funny, I am too.”

Rarity lifted her head and locked eyes with the purple Princess. “You…me…I…what?”

Twilight nodded. “Yeah…I sort of found out yesterday, at the doctor’s.” She rubbed the back of her head uncertainly, blushing a bit as well.

Rarity wiped her tears away and smiled, despite her fears. “Well now…how convenient.” She laughed.

“Yeah…nopony else except Spike knows, so could you keep it a secret?”

“Of course I can, darling.”

At that moment another knocking was heard at the door. Both mares quickly stood up and ran to see who it was. As Twilight opened the door they came face to face with Pinkie Pie, wearing a party hat and grinning from ear to ear. She blew on the noisemaker in her mouth, saying, “Hey girls! I came to give Twilight her invitation to my latest party, but since Rarity’s here too…I’ll give both of you your invites!” With a giggle the pink pony tossed two invitations to her two friends before bouncing away.

Curious, Twilight opened her letter. “Congratulations! You are invited to Pinkie Pie’s First Baby Shower. Yep, you read right, Pinkie Pie is pregnant with her very first foal and wants you to join the celebration! Party starts at three ‘o clock this afternoon.” She read aloud, her eyes widening.

“Pinkie is pregnant as well? Talk about coincidence!” Rarity commented, her own eyes doubling in size.

“Well, I’m happy for her anyway. Maybe it’ll be fun. I wonder how Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Applejack are going to react.” Twilight said, snickering a bit.

~—~

“Here you go cutie.” Fluttershy spoke in her soft voice, smiling as a baby bunny munched on the carrot she had just given him.

“Take your time with that now; we don’t want you to choke or anything.” She chided.

A knock on the door alerted the butter yellow Pegasus. A normal pony would go and answer it to see who had knocked, but Fluttershy reacted to things rather…differently.

“Eep!” She squeaked, dashing underneath a blanket. When she realized that it was only somepony at the door, Fluttershy poked her head out and sighed in relief. “Oh. I’m coming!” She called, trotting to the door. As soon as she twisted the knob, an explosion of streamers and confetti burst in her face, blowing her pink mane back. In surprise Fluttershy stiffened, fainting on the spot like a frightened baby goat.

“Hey Fluttershy!!” Pinkie Pie greeted, grinning from ear to ear, as always.

The shy Pegasus smiled knowingly, carefully getting to her hooves. “Oh, hi Pinkie. What brings you here? N-not that it’s an inconvenience or anything…I…oh, why don’t you just come on in?”

“Nah, I just came here to give you this!” Pinkie produced a letter, giving it to Fluttershy. Giggling as she bounced away, she said, “I look forward to seeing you at the party!”

Fluttershy smiled, “Another party. Well that sounds nice, Pinkie hasn’t thrown one in a while. She must have something big planned.” Tentatively she opened the invitation and read through it.

“Congratulations! You are invited to Pinkie Pie’s First Baby Shower. Yep, you read right, Pinkie Pie is pregnant with her very first foal and wants you to join the celebration! Party starts at three ‘o clock this afternoon.”

When she finished reading, Fluttershy promptly fainted. Again.

~—~

Rainbow Dash was relaxing atop a cloud when she heard the familiar cries of Pinkie Pie down below. The blue Pegasus cranked her head down to get a closer look, only to be face-to-face with her pink friend. She cried out in surprise, but quickly regained her composure. “Oh, hey Pinkie Pie. What’s up?”

Attached to Pinkie’s back was a bunch of balloons, full of helium, which provided a safe and easy trip up. The pink pony smiled and wordlessly handed Rainbow Dash her invite before she used the pointy curl that was her mane to pop the balloons, one by one. It took a while, but she floated down gently and then merrily trotted away.

Rainbow rolled her eyes knowingly and opened the invite. She quickly scanned the letter, her eyes boggling out as she read further.

“Wait, WHAT?!” The Pegasus exclaimed in astonishment. “I gotta tell Applejack!” With that, Rainbow Dash zipped away towards Sweet Apple Acres.

~—~

“She’s WHAT NOW?!” With one final slam of her back hooves, Applejack managed to make a crack in the tree as apples tumbled and careened to the ground. Rainbow Dash had scarcely made it in time; just as she arrived Applejack had already received the letter and Pinkie was hopping away. Luckily Rainbow was able to tell her friend the news before she opened the letter.

Rainbow Dash nodded and sighed, “It’s true! The letter says so. Can you believe this?!”

“No, ah can’t! How…how could she? She’s not dating any stallion, much less married to one!” Applejack shouted.

Rainbow snickered, “Guess she partied a little too hard then, huh?”

The orange earth pony needed to sit down and absorb the new information. “When did this even happen to her? Don’t get me wrong, ah’m happy for Pinkie, but ah’m also a lil’ worried about her. Does she really think she can raise her own foal?”

“I dunno AJ, but as long as we’re her friends we’ll be there to help and support her all the way, right?” The blue Pegasus assured.

“Since when did you start makin’ speeches?” Applejack said.

Rainbow smirked, quite smug indeed. “And was there ever a time that YOU didn’t?”

“Alright, y’all are askin’ for it now.”

~—~

“Roses? Can Trixie talk with you for a moment?” Trixie poked her head around the corner of the wall, her eyes locking on the hefty tan mare that was boiling a pot of water in order to cook the hay spaghetti she had prepared for that afternoon’s lunch.

“Of course, honey! Go ahead and take a seat, dear. I’m all ears.” Roses replied brightly.

Trixie gulped and shakily walked over to the kitchen table. Pulling up a chair, she sighed. “Trixie knows that she already told you that she was with foal but…she…she would like to move in with all of you until she can make some…self-arrangements.” The blue unicorn nervously chewed on her lip, bracing herself.

Roses went stiff and momentarily stopped what she was doing. Then she sighed, cranked the stove temperature to low and then trotted towards Trixie. “You can stay for as long as you need to, but I don’t think I can manage another pony in the house. You’re not a bother at all, but I don’t think it would make a very good impression on your foal. I know that Snips would love to have a, so-to-speak, “little sibling” to chase around for a while, he’s always wanted one. But still honey, I would consider finding a temporary job and save up some bits until you’re capable of affording your own place. Sound okay, dearie?”

Trixie smiled weakly and nodded. “Trixie wants to thank you for your hospitality, Roses. She greatly appreciates it.”

Roses smiled back, “Think nothing of it, dear. Now I’m going to finish cooking the spaghetti, would you like some?”

Trixie nodded. “Trixie would like that. And…Roses?”

“Yes, hon?”

“Could you…possibly…top Trixie’s spaghetti with some ice cream? She has had the craving for quite some time now.”

Pinkie's Foal Shower, Part 2

Twilight and Rarity trotted towards Sugar Cube Corner, both mares carrying gifts in their mouths. It didn’t take long for them to find a gift for Pinkie’s foal shower; almost anything would be worth its value for Pinkie if it would help her in her journey to motherhood. While they were shopping for their gifts both of them longingly looked at nearly every product in the foal care section. It wouldn’t be long until it was them filling a cart with diapers, bottles, pacifiers, bibs; all nine yards.

“Oh I wish Pinkie would have told us about this foal shower earlier, I could have made her a few foal clothes instead of buying her some. Maybe I can make it up to her soon.” Rarity said, sighing.

“I’m sure she’ll appreciate the clothes anyway, Rarity. Afterall, knowing Pinkie, she’ll probably be throwing more than one baby shower.” Twilight assured, winking. “And besides, I don’t think my gift is any better. I brought a few books from the library on motherhood and pregnancy, though I hope she’ll give them back at one point. I think I’ll be needing them, too.”

“True. Mother has some old books on “What to Expect When Expecting” from when she had Sweetie Belle. And I’ve helped take care of her ever since she was just a newborn, so it shouldn’t be too hard.” Rarity replied, smiling.

“And I’ve raised Spike ever since he was a newborn, too. I think we’ll both be great mothers; same goes for Pinkie. She babysits the Cake twins all the time and I must say that I’m impressed with her abilities.” Twilight chuckled.

“Hey, look, there’s Rainbow Dash and Applejack!” Rarity pointed out, jabbing a hoof towards a familiar orange earth pony and blue Pegasus. She waved her hoof back and forth, “Hello girls!”

“Oh hey!” Rainbow hollered back, also waving. Rarity and Twilight approached them. The rainbow-maned pony smirked, “So you guys also heard about Pinkie’s shower?”

“Indeed we did. A little shocking, isn’t it?” Rarity murmured, biting her lip as she tried to grin.

“Somethin’ wrong, Rar?” Applejack asked, her brows knitting into a frown.

“No, no, nothing’s wrong. Just a little overwhelmed is all. Now come on, I’m sure Pinkie’s waiting for us in there!”

“Wait!” A familiar voice squeaked from behind. The five mares cranked their heads around and noticed Fluttershy galloping towards them, panting as she cradled a large present in her wings. “Hey *pant* girls!”

At that moment the doors to Sugarcube Corner burst open, revealing Pinkie Pie who stood on her hind legs. The pink pony whipped her poofy magenta mane and smiled widely, waving her hoof around wildly towards the group. “Heeeey girls! Come on in! The party’s just getting started!”

~—~

Blueblood was in his quarters, sipping some tea when he heard a soft rapping on his bedroom door. He wiped his mouth quickly and cleared his throat, “Enter.”

The door slowly creaked open and in walked Princess Celestia. “Err…Blueblood; may I have a word with you?”

Blueblood nearly choked on a mouthful of tea. He gagged and cleared his throat again, sputtering, “Oh, of course Auntie.” He immediately stood up and approached his aunt, smiling. “Is there something wrong?”

Celestia sighed, and Blueblood knew what was coming when she outstretched her wing and wrapped it around him. “Blueblood, I’ve just received some news from Ponyville hospital.”

“What does this have to do with me?”

“It does, a lot, actually. Why haven’t you been honest with me?”

“Auntie, I’m not understanding.”

The white alicorn’s wing recoiled slightly. “Well Blueblood, let’s see if you can remember this. Do you ever remember sleeping with a mare recently, four to be exact?”

Blueblood was appalled. “Celestia, I know that you’re my aunt and that you love me and you’re only concerned about me, but how dare you ask me something personal and filthy like that?!” He retorted, scrunching his face in disgust.

Celestia averted her eyes towards the corner of the room to avoid the indignities below her. “Please Blueblood, just be honest with me. I’m not doing this to offend you or embarrass you. And I promise, this time Luna and I are not pranking you.” The Princess couldn’t help but smirk a bit at the memory.

Blueblood blushed, “Please don’t talk about something that happened five years ago.”

“Blueblood, please…”

The prince sighed, “Well…I-I do recall having…eh…intercourse with a mare or two at the Gala a few days ago. But I couldn’t possibly have done it with four! I had to have been drunk out of my mind if—“

“You were.”

“Auntie, you are not helping. Now please just tell me what the news is!”

“Blueblood, you are going to be a father.”

“…What?”

“Basically you are going to be the father of four children with four different mares. I talked to Twilight’s doctor and—“

“Y-you mean, Princess Twilight? My future bride is already…p-pregnant…with MY child?! And I impregnated FOUR mares?!” Blueblood shrieked.

“…Yes. But there is more. Not only did you impregnate Twilight, but you also impregnated two of her friends and a distant ‘frienemy’ of hers.”

“So you are telling me that I am the father of four foals from four different mares, one of royalty and the others I hardly know?!”

“That is correct.”

“A-are you absolutely sure?”

“Yes. The doctor did a paternity test on all four of them and you are the father of all of them, no glitch, no errors, no misinterpretations, nothing.”

“I must know the names of these ponies.”

“Well, firstly Twilight Sparkle. Then there’s her more distant friend Trixie. Then Pinkie Pie…” Blueblood cringed as his aunt spoke. Pinkie Pie was that annoying red one who constantly sang that irritating Pony Pokey song. He despised her deeply and now he was going to be the father of her child. “And lastly…Rarity.”

Blueblood fainted.

Pinkie's Foal Shower Part 3 (final part)

~—~

“Attention, Everypony!” Pinkie Pie squealed into her megaphone, immediately silencing the cacophony of mingling ponies. Almost everypony in town had arrived for Pinkie’s shower and were excited for the new addition to be born, although it would be quite a while.

Twilight and Rarity, however, refused to join the others in any of the games or indulge at the snack bar. Both mares felt sick to their stomachs; however they wanted to keep a safe façade for Pinkie’s sake.

The pink pony grinned widely and patted her tiny, barely noticeable belly that provided a safe warm home for her unborn foal. She smiled and said, “It’s present tiiiiiime!”

All of the ponies cheered in delight, following Pinkie into the other room where the gifts had been placed. Bright blue and pink balloons floated in the air next to the profusion of presents. The weights that were holding them down were small packages of pacifiers or brightly colored stuff animals.

The small amount of gifts on the table that had previously been there when Twilight, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Fluttershy had arrived had quadrupled in number. Large boxes ranging from all sizes covered in wrapping paper had hues of bright pink or blue, with little pictures of storks on them. Dozens of packages of diapers stood stacked in two corners of the room, like giant pillars, little cards taped on the boxes, clearly full of bits.

Everypony gathered around while Pinkie sat in the middle, decidedly scanning the rows of gifts with an eager grin on her face. Eventually she chose one; it was from Fluttershy, who blushed when she saw Pinkie holding her gift.

“Oooh, I wonder what it is!” Pinkie exclaimed, ripping apart the paper faster than…well, as fast as Pinkie could open it, which was really fast, considering that this was Pinkie Pie we were talking about. Pinkie gasped dramatically, squealing as she lifted up the gift for all eyes to see. “It’s a…a big pump thingy!”

Fluttershy’s blush deepened. “Oh Pinkie, t-that’s not what it is…”

Pinkie raised an eyebrow, “Then what is it?”

The butter yellow Pegasus refused to make eye contact, blushing madly as she quietly responded, “I-it’s a breast pump…”

Pinkie paused for a moment, her brain still trying to process the information. A few moments later she finally replied, “Oh. Ohhhhhh! Thanks Fluttershy!”

Fluttershy smiled despite her embarrassment.

Pinkie picked up another present, “Now who could this be from? Oh, oh! It’s from Mr. and Mrs. Cake!” The confectionary couple smiled at Pinkie as she ripped at the wrapping paper.

“Omigosh! It’s a foal carrier!” Pinkie exclaimed in delight.

Mrs. Cake nodded, “We knew you’d like it, Pinkie.”

“Like it? I love it! Thanks you guys!” The pink pony hugged her adoptive family before grabbing another present. “Oh goodie! It’s from Rainbow Dash AND Applejack! This oughta be good!”

After tearing away the wrapping paper, Pinkie stared in awe at the gift for a few moments. “Aw, it’s a crib!” She said, beaming in elation.

Applejack nodded, “Yep, that was Apple Bloom’s ol’ crib. Rainbow and ah had enough spare time to restore it and paint it today. And don’t worry, ah made sure that it’s nice and clean. No need to worry bout them germs.”

“Thank you girls soooo much! I love it!” Pinkie wrapped both arms around the cowgirl and blue Pegasus and squeezed them tightly before she sat back down onto her haunches. “Okay, what’s next?”

As Pinkie opened other ponies’ presents, Twilight noticed that Rarity was twitching and pacing in place nervously. The purple alicorn nudged her friend in concern and whispered, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing, I’m just nervous. Are we really going to do this here and now? At Pinkie’s own foal shower?”

“Well, we have to tell them at some point. It won’t be long before we start to show, maybe a few months or so. By then it will be too late.”

“Well, alright.” At that moment a loud gasp erupted from Pinkie Pie as she opened the final gifts, from Rarity and Twilight. She crowed, “Omigosh I love these! They’re so cute!” Pinkie then held up the clothing for everypony to see. The crowd ‘ooh’ed in delight.

“Thank you everypony for all the wonderful gifts! It means a lot to me and Glitter Cannon over here! Or maybe I’ll name it Cherry Cheesecake, or Cherry Bomb, or even Chimmecherrychanga! I don’t know what I’ll name my foal or how I’ll raise it, but thanks to you guys I know I’ll have lots of support!” Tears formed in the pink mare’s eyes as she rubbed her belly gently. “I love you all!”

“Wait, Pinkie,” Twilight interrupted, stepping forward with Rarity walking behind her. “We…have something to tell all of you. Especially you three,” She motioned a hoof towards Rainbow, Applejack, and Fluttershy, who gave Twi a questionable look.

“What’s that, Twilight?” Pinkie asked eagerly.

“Rarity and I have some news. Yesterday we both found out that…well…we’re both expecting foals, too!”

The room was silent for a brief moment, Applejack’s jaw was low and Rainbow’s eyes were wide while Fluttershy slowly started to back away. Rarity glared at Twilight, “I told you that it wasn’t a good—“

Suddenly both mares were glomped by Pinkie Pie, who nearly started to cry out of happiness. “You’re both serious? You’re pregnant too?! Omigosh, omigosh, ooooomiiiiigoshhhh! This is so exciting!”

Twilight smirked at Rarity while the unicorn rolled her eyes. Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Fluttershy approached them, all wearing grins of their own.

“Wow…what a coincidence. Three foals all at once? Boy, that’s weird. But that’s also amazin’! Congratulations to all three of ya!” Applejack said.

“Yeah, hopefully they’ll all be pegasi so I could teach them how to fly! That sounds so awesome!” Rainbow did her signature squishy face to prove her point.

Fluttershy, trembling in shock, slowly started to smile. Seconds later, Rarity and Twilight were embraced by a sobbing Fluttershy who cried out of overwhelmed joy. The ponies around the Mane Six began to cheer and stomp their hooves in applause.
