Red the color of "passion" they called it, a color for romance ponies thought. Rainbow Dash knew better now what the true meaning behind the color was, death. She lay there in the street convulsing blood covering her emanating from her vaginal tract. She was supposed to be with child, she and Soarin were supposed to get married and have a foal together and live happily ever after. Nothing is ever as it seems.

He was a kind stallion at first but the more she grew to know him the more violent he became, she told herself things would change after the wedding but she knew she was lying to herself. Now the unborn foal, not even fully formed, was in the street as horrified onlookers stared at a seething Soarin who was towering over her. "You dumb bitch!" he yelled "You fucking bitch you killed my child!!.... You fucking retarded ass bitch!!!" His hoof slammed across her face making her see stars, he had hit her before she was used to it. She would put on some make-up and pretend like it never happened. But it did, it always did.

He pummeled her with his hooves mercilessly beating her until she began to feel her own blood mix with that of the foals. A hoof caught that of her fiances and with an authoritative voice commanded "Stop it wasn't her fault." The stranger received a buck for his efforts and Soarin returned his attention to Dash, "Now you'll pay you..." his sentence was cut off by a deafening blast of lightning that threw him into a nearby store window. The stranger she saw now was a stallion with a black coat and mane red stripes running through it.

He smiled down at her and reassured her "everything is going to be fine I promise" he said. And for some reason she believed him. Black dots swam in her vision and she felt herself slipping away. She gave in to the darkness and allowed herself the luxury of sweet unconsciousness.

Dark lightning looked down at the now unconscious mare, he had watched the entire seen unfold before his horrified eyes. The rainbow pegasus had stopped in the middle of the street groaning in pain and collapsed, she began to bleed from her vagina as her unborn child spilled out prematurely and dissolved into a puddle of gore. The stallion had begun to rage and beat her savagely for "killing my foal" to quote him. Dark had intervened shortly after but he hopped that he had been fast enough.

The wonderbolt darted out of the window in a furry after Dark but was met by an uppercut mixed with another surge of lightning. He followed up the attack with a series of balls of lightning that stuck to the pegasus and detonated sending him flying off into the distance. He rushed to the battered mares side picking her up and flying as his wings would carry him. He arrive at the hospital raging through the front door and shouting "MEDIC!!"

The nurse red heart helped him put Dash onto a stretcher and wheel her off, he pace furiously until the nurse came back into the room. "How is she?" he asked hopelessly. "She'll survive, but the foal was miscarried and she has some severe busing not all new. From what you told me happened she probably was being beaten by him regularly and that was, I believe, the reason for the miscarriage. He shook with rage at Soarin's actions electricity coursing through his body, "Shes conscious but non-responsive, I hate to ask but could you stay with her for a few days at her house? I don't see her recovering from this emotionally for quite some time"

Still quaking with rage Dark Lightning nodded and followed her to a wheelchair containing a bandaged and tear streaked Rainbow Dash. His heart fell through tartarus and further still, he walked over to her and looked into her cyan eyes and hugged her compassionately. She fell apart in his arms heaving with every sob, "It wasn't you fault, don't worry he wont ever hurt you again I promise." She continued to wail uncontrollably into his mane, soaking him with tears of pure sorrow.

The fly to her house was a short one, luckily Soarin had enough sense to pack up and leave before they arrived because if Dark ever saw him again he knew, he would kill him. He lay Dash into the cloud bed and was about to leave when Dash grabbed him saying "Please don't leave..." That was all he needed, Dark got into bed and held the mare tight stroking her mane as she curled up and hid herself in his coat. Draping his wings over them Dark sang quietly to Dash until he was certain she was sleeping.

Soon after he fell into a deep slumber himself whispering into her ear as he did "I will always protect you no matter what.... always and forever" and with that he fell asleep drifting into a world where everything was good and nice. After he had fell asleep a small voice emanated from Rainbow dash so quiet that it was barly even audiable "I'll hold you to that promise"

Dawn broke over the horizon bathing the sleeping pegasi in shades of orange, it had been nearly a week since the incident and Dash was coming along nicely. She was still traumatized by the ordeal but she could now smile without faking it. Her friends were there for her, even Twilight with her new buckfriend Naga were there to help. Even Pinky had been surprisingly calm and comforting through her heartache, but her pain was one that only a certain type of friend could fill. And even in that reguard she was lucky, Dark Lightning had stayed with her throughout the ordeal, he was like her boastful but could back it up. He was also the most devoted stallion she had met.

She enjoyed her time with him even more than she had with Soarin when he had been nice to her. He had lied to her and cheated on her during there time together but she ignored that only focusing on him. But with Dark gave her the same attention that she had given Soarin, and furthermore their personality's matched perfectly. They pushed each other to do stupid things to prove themselves but they knew when to call it quits.

She woke up in the same position that she had taken since he first brought her home. She looked at him and suddenly she remembered a feeling that was currently filling her, She had had it with Soarin but this was stronger, deeper. She loved Dark lightning. This came as a... no she had known for a time the way she felt but had been to raw to deal with it. She looked at the now waking Dark lying his face inches from hers. She kissed him. A small current surged through her as he realized what was happening and kissed her back.

She intensified the kiss getting more and more aroused by the second ,he broke the kiss he himself beginning to become aroused. "Are yo sh..eep!" he said as Dash leaned down and rubbed his crotch with a forehoof saying "Yes, yes I am," She flipped him onto his back and straddled him inserting his now erect member into her. She gasped and began to ride him raising and lowering herself onto him showing him her affection. "Oh, Celestia! Dark I love you!"

Dark chuckled as she said that "I love you to but you could have just said so," She looked down playfully at him "So you want to stop?" she teased. He responded by flipping her onto her back and began thrusting deeper and harder enticing a moan from Dash. He reached down and kissed he sloppily a strand of saliva trailing between them. "Oh fuck your good!" Dash cried. She orgasmed clenching around him releasing a flow of juices.

He began to stop when Dash stopped him saying "No not until you finish, I think I can manage." he began to work up a pace again. "Fuck I'm close!" he shouted as he began to increase in speed and power. "Me to" Dash managed to get in between pants. He climaxed at the same time as her and they screamed each others names into the air arching there backs in sheer pleasure. "So does this mean?" Dark asked. "Yes silly, I think it does" Dash responded as they separated. The two colapsed an fell one again into sleeps embrace, now it was official they were in love.

They stood on the cloud tongs wrestling in the others mouth, lips locked the stood a pair of pegasi one a blue to match the sky with a rainbow mane and the other a pegasus with a black coat that would blend in perfectly with the night and similar mane with red streaks running through it. They broke the kiss and looked deeply into each others eyes knowing what the other was thinking. They lined up and Rainbow Dash shouted "Three....two....one...GO!!"

They leaped from the cloud in perfect synchronization and speed off towards Ponyville at breakneck speeds. still in perfect synchronization a white cone began to form around them stretching until with a massive boom they broke the sound barrier. Sparks of rainbow colored electricity spread outward and following the pegasi. They speed on until the boost wore off near Sugar Cube Corner. Exhausted they collapsed on top of each other panting, "I won!" Dash shouted. "Nu uh," Dark returned play punching her on the shoulder, "Yea hu." Dash said back returning the punch. "Lets call it a tie and grab something to eat," Dark said as his stomach growled.

Dash laughed and rolled off of him. An orange earth pony looked at them revolted "Oh come on IN THE STREET Dash have some respect!" Applejack said staring them down. "What! Oh no no no no no no no no no no no no no no, this isn't what it looks like!" Dash squealed blushing furiously and hiding her head in her hooves. Laughing the farm pony said "Ah was just buckin with ya Dashie!" This caused her to turn an even brighter shade of red "Not funny Applejack." she deadpanned.

After being the subject of a few teases from her friend she and Dark walked off to grab a bite to eat at sugar cube corner. As they walked in they were met with a worried looking orange pegasus, Spitfire. "H-hea D-dash c-c-can we talk?" A few minutes later they were sitting down over some fries at a table by the window. "Look" Spitfire said "what my... brother... did was unforgivable. we didn't know abut this till after it happened. Look I'm so sorry if that's worth anything. And well the others and I still want you on the Wonderbolts. we kicked Soarin off after we heard so you don't have to deal with that and.... I guess well... will you join the bolts?"

Rainbow dash shook off her initial shock at the situation and sat in silence for a few minutes before responding "Ok, but on one condition... you accept Dark Lightning in with me." Spitfire looked relieved, "of course he can join I saw what you two did earlier, as a matter of fact that's how I found you and that kind of stunt would defiantly please a crowd. Just come by the HQ any time you want and we'll go from there." And with that she bid them goodbye and left. Dash looked to Dark at the same time he looked to her both grinning wildly, it had been both of their fillyhood dreams to join after all, and screamed so loudly in unison that even Pinky Pie jumped "WERE GONNA BE WONDERBOLTS!!"

Dash and Dark flew back to there house (they had started calling it that ever since there well.... you know time) in a mad dash of joy. Perhaps if they had been less eager they would have notice that the door was ajar. As soon as they entered they were met by a gunshot as a bullet flew passed them and out the now wide open door. A seathing Soarin was standing in the doorway to the kitchen a gun in his mouth. He proceeded to fire more shots at them but they were met with bolts of electricity sending them harmlessly into the ground and walls.

The gun clicked empty and as Soarin reached for a fresh clip Dark shot forward and tackled him and the gun to the cloud floor. They wrestled around on the floor until hitting a wall. Soarin managing to come out on top and pulled a knife out from under his wing and brought it down towards Dark. He closed his eyes waiting for the metal to sink into his flesh. A single shot rang out and Soarin was tossed off of him. He looked and found the source of the shot, Dash holding the pistol in her mouth a deadly look on her face.

She fired off shots in rapid succestion into the blue stallion riddling him with bullet holes, the gun clicked empty but she kept tonging the trigger tears running down her face as she did. Dark Stood up and took the gun from her and holding her close as she cried into his mane "h-h-he killed my foal... oh Celestia Dark he killed it." He held her close stroking her mane saying "I know darling I know." The stain of blood would never fully go away but Dark Lightning covered it up after the police came. He took her to Twilight's home where they were met by Naga a black alicorn with blue streaks in his hair.

The couple had insisted even before they could ask that they spend the night with them after hearing of the attack. Twilight and Rainbow Dash left to go downstairs and do "girl stuff" leaving the two stallions by themselves. They had become fast friends in the week that Dark was helping Dash recover. The two of them grabbed a beer and sat on the couch, "so dude you wanna watch a little TV?" Naga asked. "Sure," Dark said taking a swig from the beer.

Naga turned on the TV and flipped to a channel and stooped "this looks decent." he said as a whirring intro came onto the screen. A blue box that looked vaguely familiar popped onto the screen and dark watched the title appear "Dr. Whooves" it read. The episode was about stone pegasi that if you blinked or looked away for even a second would kill you or send you back in time. "Damn that's freaky!" Dark said as a poor boy had his neck broken by one. as he looked over he saw Dark and the pony from the screen sitting watching intensely. Looking beyond them he recognized the unmistakable blue box sitting off to his left. "HOLY SHIT YOUR.."

Dark looked over to the two stallions rolling on the floor laughing at his look of absolute shock, the Dr. was in the room... a time traveling pony. "Ha Dark we trolled you good!" Naga said between gasps. Dr. Whooves was rolling on the ground as well managing to spit out "I never thought I'd get the chance to use that it was hilarious..." he stood up brushing off his duster taking on a more serious persona, "but down to business I came here as a favor to Naga. I will give you a trip to the past to allow you to keep dash from losing her child."

At this Naga stood up and looked Dark straight in his eyes, "this could have serous repercussions but I think you deserve the chance to help her." Dark lightning looked straight at them and with a face that would make a spartan turn tail and run home, "lets go." They piled into the blue box and even though he knew what to expect it was still a sight to behold. The console sprang to life as the Dr. began to flip seemingly random lever and switches, the T.A.R.D.I.S. began its familiar whir and they lurched upwards with a start.

The time machine landed with a resounding *dong* and they threw the doors open, Dark saw the house that he had become accustomed to before him. 'Dash's house', he thought to himself as he suddenly found himself covered in Naga's shadow aura and they vanished from sight. Holding up a hoof the went inside shutting the door behind him signaling for the others to stay back, this was his fight. He saw a sight that filled him with rage as a fuming Soarin stood over a sobbing Dash hoof raised about to strike.

Thinking quickly he used his power to overload a nearby power switch causing it to explode sending Soarin across the room. As he stared at the unconscious Soarin he felt proud and satisfied that Dash was safe and left the house. As he trotted outside he looked at the two figures leaning against a blue box. He nodded and pushed the door to the T.A.R.D.I.S. open and trotted inside. The trip back was spent in silence much like the ride there, as he exited the box he thanked the Dr. and flew off wanting to see how things were now that Dash had never had to loose her foal.

As he approached the cloud home he heard a loud crash come from the house and he rushed into the house and saw Soarin and a pregnant Dash sitting on the couch. He gazed in horror as Soarin turned around a vase had been knocked over by Dash's pet turtle. He screamed at Dark but he heard none of it as he saw his mares face turn to him in horror and without an ounce of recognition in her features. As hooves mercilessly beat him he could only think 'what have I done.'

As Naga began to read a frantic pegasus stormed into the room and landed at his hooves covered in blood and bruises. "She doesn't know me.... she doesn't bucking know me!!" he sobbed as he lay on the floor. Naga was utterly and completely shocked by this. "Fuck I knew this was a bad idea, I'm so sorry Dark there's nothing I or Doctor Whooves can do" Naga announced to the sobbing pegasus at his hooves. With this he reached down to pat him on the back but was thrown across the room by an EMP blast.

The black pegasus raged "I don't care if you'r SORRY i want my dash back and if I cant have her than I don't see any reason to live" and with this he blasted through a nearby window and flew off into the night. He flew as fast as his wings would take him away from the tree hearing Naga shout but the words were lost in the wind. He knew where he was heading, the Everfree void. A magical anomaly that anything (as according to Dr. Whooves) tossed in would be erased from existence.

As he flew images of Dash raced through his mind like a mental movie, there first kiss that fateful morning. There first flight together followed by there first race. Which resulted in there second intimate moment. He raced for the void seeking retribution for his idiocy of thinking he could play god and alter time. He spotted the black void and charged to it eyes shut tight as he prepared himself for oblivion, he hit water. Or more accurately a swimming pool, he was yanked out of the pool by a familiar shadow-like aura and was thrown violently to the floor of the T.A.R.D.I.S. but was immediately thrown again into a wall as a hoof slammed into his gut knocking the wind out of him.

"What the fuck are you thinking!" Naga screamed at him. Dark lightning only lay there slumped against the wall in silence. "AAAUGGGG!!" Naga yelled and threw the stallion into the main room. He materialized next to a shocked Dr. before shoving him out of the way and using his magic opened the panel and shoved Dark's face into it. Raw time energy rushed into the pegasi creating a blinding array of power that proceeded to expand outward knocking everypony to the floor.

When they awoke everyone involved save Soarin was lying on the floor of Twilight's study. Dark opened his eyes and looked around the room and saw Naga stumbling around the Dr. waving his sonic screwdriver around in a circle clumsily. He heard a familiar groan from behind him. He turned to see a dazed Dash looking confused at him, he stared painfully at her before she looked at him and asked "whats the matter Dark sweetheart?"

A few minutes later Twilight was laughing with Dash in a corner as they discussed the latest gossip, Dash with a slightly swollen belly. The three stallions conversed in a corner in hushed voices "as far as I can tell from what i gathered from Twilight she and Soarin never met and you two did instead. We must have done it when you were exposed to the heart of the T.A.R.D.I.S.." Dr. Whooves shook hi head as Naga spoke and responded with, "she's done this sort of thing before old gall. I swear I think she's a hopeless romantic her."

Dark looked at them stunned "so your telling me that the filly that Dash is giving birth to is...." the Dr. and Naga grinned like trolls and said in unison "your's, you just got time trolled." After explaining what happened to the mare's and showing Dash the inside of the T.A.R.D.I.S., twilight having already seen it and was glaring at Naga and reprimanding him for careless time travel. Rather than freak she simply had Twilight transfer all of there memories to Dark.

He was flooded with times and experiences, there meeting, first kiss, first "time", his proposal, her pregnancy. He let out a tear at the end and hugged Dash proclaiming "nothing, not even time will keep me from you" and hugged her. They both leaped back from each other as a spark of energy ignited between them and expanded in a similar fashion as before. When the light cleared they felt invigorated and refreshed. The Dr. scanned them and looked at them in utter shock, "well well, it would seem that the incident has suspended you in time effectively stopping your aging process"

The two pegasi looked at each other and smiled, "I guess till death do us part took on a new meaning" Naga said receiving a slap upside the head as they kissed now knowing that the would never have to die. Forever in love. Dark Lightning and Rainbow Dash, the love that nod even time could hold at bay.
