The two guard ponies were investigating the everfree forest for the crying, but they heard nothing.

The two guards’ were unicorns, so they could used their magic to see where they were going through the everfree forest.

The two guards kept looking in the forest; they ventured deeper, but heard nothing, “This is a waste, there’s nothing hear, no screams, and nopony but ourselves,” the male guard said, wanting to go back to the castle and report to the commander.

Thunder Blade looked down at the everfree forest, and saw where the boulders were coming from, she instructed the two rookies to split up; one goes to the left, and the other goes to the right, while she continues down the centre.

The two rookies sneaked in the bushes, and thought to use the element of surprise, and attack The Dark Mare, while she was talking to their commanding officer.

The rookies then got into their positions, ready to attack The Dark Mare; they both looked at each other, and then nodded, signalling to attack.

Thunder Blade charged her attack and flew straight into The Dark Mare, but she pulled the rookies off from her neck and grabbed Thunder Blade by her neck with her mane.

“Nice try, but too slow my dear,” The Dark Mare said, choking the Pegasus.

Thunder Blade then kicked The Dark Mare in the face, coursing her to drop Thunder Blade; she landed on all four of her hooves, and turned to the rookies and said, “LETS GET BACK TO THE CASTLE!”

The two rookies and Thunder Blade extended their wings and started to fly high up in the sky, to where The Dark Mare couldn't reach.

They shot past her ears like they were arrows, causing Thunder Blade to fly off balance, the two rookies turned, and went to help their commanding officer, but Thunder Blade told them to keep flying back to the castle.

Thunder Blade flew low into the trees, where the thorns only hitted the tree branches, some of them missed the branches and went straight through the leaves, almost hitting Thunder Blade.

Suddenly spikes started to pop out from the ground like daisies, and bloom sharp thorns, but didn’t shoot them at her; they just grew, not giving the Pegasus any breathing room.

The Dark Mare then growled with frustration and launched an attack, swinging the blade around, Thunder Blade tried to dodge the attack that were being launched at her.

The Dark Mare slammed the Blade down, making hole in the spikes, “thanks for lending a hoof bitch,” Thunder Blade said, kicking The Dark Mare in the face...again, knocker her back, and giving herself the time to escape.

She squeezed through the spikes and ran back to the castle; The Dark Mare got up from the ground and grunted too herself, “next time, you will not be so lucky.”

Thunder Blade got to the front of the castle, but was stopped by the guards, as they were uneasy from the attack, “WHO GOES THERE!”

Thunder Blade stood her ground and moved past the guard’s spears, and said in a frustrated tone, “it’s me, you numb skulls.”

She then walked into the castle and went up to Commander Hurricane, which was shouting her head off at the two rookies.

Thunder Blade stood calmly, and said, “Waiting for your order’s mother.”

Commander Hurricane turned and looked at her daughter with a disappointed face, “where did you go?” she asked, in a clear darkened tone.

Thunder Blade looked at her mother, and said in a sarcastic tone, “what...no hug, after I’ve just stopped the flying burning boulders.”

“NO, AFTER THAT...WHEN YOU WERE DODGING THE SHARP METAL LOOKING THORNS, WHERE DID YOU GO?” Commander Hurricane asked, questioning the Pegasus.

Thunder Blade then sat on the ground, and used her wings to count how many things she had done, “well first, the rookies and I were dodging the sharp thorns, and second, i decided to fly low into the everfree forest to dodge them, and then third, got trapped and had to fight my own way out.”

Commander Hurricane looked at her with a, “not amused face,” when Thunder Blade told her story.

Celestia walked up to the Pegasus and looked, as her armour was broken, “who did that to you?” Celestia asked, in curiosity.

Thunder Blade pulled herself up from the floor and said, “When i dodged the metal looking thorns, and was trapped like a bird in a cage, The Dark Mare suddenly appeared behind me. She got me pretty good, as her attack was quite quick.”

Celestia turned and thought to herself, “So the legends are true, and now two ponies survived, and saw this mare.”

Suddenly Luna burst through the doors, and shouted in horror, catching everypony attention, “SISTER, COME QUICK!” Celestia didn’t hesitate, nor asked the questioned what was going on.

Commander Hurricane and Thunder Blade followed Princess Celestia, into a secret room, which was behind there thrones.

They entered, and Celestia’s face soon turned to a shocked look, as she stared at the statue of Discord...it was cracking.

The cracks in the statue glowed red, and was pulsing with power, as he was braking out of the stone prison.

Celestia walked up to a random spot on the floor, she then pressed a button, and the floor suddenly opened, they watch, as the machinery came out from the floor, but saw that the elements of harmony were missing.

Celestia and Luna stood in shock, “how is this possible, where did are they?” Luna asked, as she couldn't understand how they could have gone missing.

Celestia looked away for a minute, but turned and looked at Thunder Blade, and recognized how brave and strong she was, as she stood herself up against the impossible odds.

She walked up to the Pegasus and said, “You will no longer work as a guard,” Thunder Blade looked at Celestia thinking she had done something wrong, “i am promoting you to rank of a warrior...a warden,” Celestia said, giving the Pegasus her new rank.

Thunder Blade looked at her with curiosity, “thank you, dear Princess, but i have to ask, why have you gave me the promotion?” she asked.

Celestia stood straight and replied with a calm voice, “You stood your own at the impossible odds, and survived the everfree forest from The Dark Mare, so i think you are perfect for the job that you will be doing soon.”

Celestia then walked into her study, but stop and turned to the Pegasus, “get some rest, because for the next day, your journey will begin,” Celestia then turned and walked into her study and closed her doors.
