    Chapter 1: A New Day

The sun rose up on another beautiful day in the land of Equestria. The birds chirped as they flew through the sky, and everypony begins to slowly wake up to start their day. Among these ponies was a particular purple unicorn, and a sleepy little dragon. Twilight Sparkles sluggishly opened her eyes. She had just had the most wonderful dream about magic and studying and winning the Equestria peace prize for all of her magic accomplishments.

“What a wonderful dream” she thought as she crawled out of bed. “But that’s enough dreaming. Spike! Spike! It’s Time to get up”.

Twilight went to the resting place of her sleeping little helper. He seemed so peaceful just lying there, curled upped in his blanket. It was a shame that she had to wake him up.

“Spike, she said. “This is your last warning, I don’t want to have to wake you again.” The dragon just rolled over, as if to ignore her.

“Well, can’t say I didn’t warn him” she sighed. She began to focus and her horn soon began to glow with magical power. Soon a large glass of water is levitated into the room. Twilight looked at the dragon one last time, sighed, and poured the entire glass onto Spike.

“WHAAA H-H-HEY” squealed the dragon, as he bolted up, wide awake from the chill of the ice water. “Why d-d-did you do that T-Twilight?” he muttered, still cold from the water.

“Well what did you want me to do, we have a lot of things to do today” she said. “first we have to first make a check-list of what we need to put on the checklist , then we have to make that check-list, then we should double check that checklist…..”

As the unicorn went on, spike just blankly ignored her. He walked into the kitchen giving a huge yawn as he checked the calendar on their fridge. Spikes eyes widened as he looked at the date.

“Hey Twilight, what day is it today?” spikes asked his friend.

“Ummmm” she thought. “I believe that it is the seventh today, yes the seventh”.

“Oh my god!” he screamed; as he quickly ran pass Twilight and strait up stairs.

“Spike! What are you doing, we have a schedule to keep!” the purple mare barked. “Spike, answer me mister!”

“It’s almost here, it’s almost here. Hearts and hooves day is almost here.” Spiked sang as he dug through a trunk of his stuff. After some searching he finally pulled out a shiny gemstone.

It was the most beautiful diamond that anypony has ever seen ever. It was about the size of an apple, but it was cut to be in the shape of heart, it shone like the many colors of the rainbow, and sparkled like the stars.

“Wow" said Twilight, mesmerized by the diamond’s enhancing glow. “Where did you get a diamond like this?”

“Oh I’ve been growing it for almost a year now” he said. “I’ve been waiting all year to give it to my ‘special somepony’.”

Twilight giggled to herself, knowing exactly who this mysterious pony was. “Well I’m sure Rarity will love it, but hearts and hooves day isn’t here for another week.”

“Yeah well, I’m just so excited!”

“Well, I am happy for you spike. But we need to get on with our day.” She began to say. “We have to-“

“Awwwwwwww” moaned Spike. “Can’t it wait until after the party, I was really hoping to get some cake in me before we started working.”

    “Party? What party?”

“You know the special hearts and hooves day party at Sugarcube Corner” said Spike. “It’s, like the only thing that Pinkie Pie has been talking about for the last month.”

“OH, NO!” shrieked Twilight. She had completely forgotten about the hearts and hooves day warm up party. “Oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no!”

Spike jumps on the screaming Twilight. “Twilight calm down!” he scorned as he shakes the pony into submission.
Just then there was a knock on the door.

“Hello?” said a familiar southern accent. “Twi, Spike, are you guys okay?”

“Oh, come in Applejack!” shouted Twilight, having settled down from before.

“Thanks” said the orange cowpony. “We were all just makin sure you didn’t go and forget about the party.”

“Oh thank you Applejack, to be completely honest, we kinda did” blushed Twilight.

Spike frowned. “What do you mean we?”

Ignoring the dragon Twilight went back to Applejack. “So sorry it’s just that I have to make my list to make my list, and then I have to make that list and then do the things that are on that list.” She takes a deep breath. “And then we have to double check the list and then we have to-“

“Whoa there sugar cube, don’t overdo it” said Applejack, giving her friend a concern work. “You know this here party may work wonders fer ya. May teach ya to unwind a little.”

“Hey!” growled Twilight. “What are you saying?”

“Ummmmm” stammered Applejack as she looked to her hooves. “Nothin”

    “Applejack”

    “What”

    “What are you saying?”

Applejack sighed. “It’s just that you can be a little…… uptight sometimes is all.”

“What!” roared Twilight. “I am not uptight!”

    “Sugarcube, you…..you kinda are”

“Okay” Twilight thought. “Name one time that I have ever been uptight about anything.”

“Oh Twilight don’t make me do this” begged Apple jack.

Twilight looked furiously at her friend, staring daggers at her; she was going to get an answer from her.
    “Well Applejack, I’m waiting.”

“Well” said Applejack. “There was that time you got all worked up about missing the due date of yer letter so you tried to create problems for you to solve.”

    “Oh…..right” said Twilight.

“And then there was that other time you tried to-“

“I only needed one example, Applejack” twilight said, rolling her eyes.

    “Oh, heheh, yeah,”

“Hey if you two are done chatting” said Spike, who has been patiently waiting for the two mares to stop talking. “I would like to go to the party sometime today maybe.”

“Oh my your right Spike” said Twilight looking at the time. “We should get going immediately.”

A look of relief from both Applejack and Spike, the trio finally heads out the door.

“Hey Twilight” said Applejack as they were walking into ponyville. “Look I don’t want y’all to be mad at me, it’s just that ya can be a little uptight, but all I want is for y’all you to be and be happy.”

“It’s okay Applejack” Twilight smiles back towards Applejack, putting her at ease. “And maybe your right, this party may be the thing I need to have a little fun.”

The two ponies laugh as they head towards the party at Sugarcube corner, wondering what was in store for them when they got there.

Chapter 2: the Hearts and Hooves Warm-up Party

“Ooooooooo, hurry up everypony. We have to get everything to be perfect before everypony gets here!” shouted Pinkie Pie as she was racing and bouncing around, putting up decoration in the main room of the Sugarcube Corners main party room.

Pinkie had spent all day getting ready for her super awesome special Hearts and Hooves Day warm-up party. Even with almost a month to get ready she still wasn’t able to do it all by herself. Luckily she has the help of Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Rarity to help her in her time of crisis.

“No sweat Pinkie” said Rainbow Dash. “Hey where do you want this banner to go?” she asked.

“Oh you can hang that over there” she said, pointing to the doorway. “Or maybe by the stairs, or maybe the kitchen, or maybe by the-.”

“Pinkie, make up your mind!” interrupted Rainbow, clearly getting annoyed by the pink mare’s inability to make up her mind.

“Oh, tee hee! Sorry you can just put it anywhere you want” giggled Pinkie Pie.

“Ugh” muttered Rainbow Dash, frustrated with the pink pony. She decided to just hang the banner on the wall next to the food.

“Hey Fluttershy, lend me a hoof will ya?” she called out.

“Hmm, oh…….okay” she said quietly as she quickly flutters up to help Rainbow.

“Oh this party is just going to be ravishing, dear” said Rarity as she was setting the table for the food to placed.

“Ooooo, I know it’s just going to be so much fun, I can’t believe that I never thought of throwing a party to warm up for another party! And maybe after this we should throw a second party to warm up everypony even more, hey maybe we should have had a warm up party for the warm up party, I mean any excuse to throw a party is a good excuse for me” squealed Pinkie happily.

“Pinkie please, we know you love parties, but try not to exert yourself” begged Rarity.

“Hey any Pinkie Pie Party is a good party, Rarity” said Rainbow Dash.

“I didn’t say anything of the sort, dear. All I’m trying to say is that she should try to relax a little” replied Rarity

“Wait, hold on girls, I’ve gotta scoot upstairs for a sec, BRB!” as Pinkie bounces up the stairs, unnoticed by all ponies except Fluttershy.

“Umm, girls” whispered Fluttershy, her voice being drowned out by the other mares arguing in the room.

“Oh really then, then how come your being so fussy about this then” the rainbow pony says while getting even closer to the white unicorn.

“Umm, girls” repeated Fluttershy, still being ignored by her friends.

“Well….. I never!” scorched Rarity, turning her nose up in a loud humph, as she walks towards the catering table.
“Girls!” Fluttershy screamed (or as loud as she could) to the arguing ponies.

“What Fluttershy!” both ponies said while suffocating the frustration within.

She begins to tear up a little. “Oh….im sorry, it’s just that could you both please don’t fight……. I’m mean if it’s not any trouble…..” the shy little pony floats back to the grown and hides her face in her long pink hair, fearing the wrath of her friends.

“What, oh come on Fluttershy that was barely even a tussle” said the tomboyish pony. “And besides were not actually mad at each other.”

“I’M BAAAAAACCCCCKKK!” screamed Pinkie Pie, dragging behind her a wheelbarrow with something big covered by a blue blanket.

    “What’s that?” asked Rainbow.

“It’s a surprise, a really, really, really, REALLY special surprise!” giggled Pinkie excitedly.

    “What kind of-“

“SURPRISE!” screamed Pinkie, as she unveiled the mystery contraption. It was a giant cannon, pink with blue and yellow streamers painted around the edges. Before anypony could tell her to stop, Pinkie pulled the trigger string.

    BOOM!

The cannon had shot out thousands of colorful streamers, confetti, and little balloons out and towards the walls and ceiling. Fluttershy jumped up with fear, the noise being too much for her and desperately trying to fly outside to escape the chaos. Unfortunately, in her haste, she hadn’t seen Rainbow Dash flying above her and before the rainbow mare could move, the two pegesi collided with each other and fell right on to the cakes and other pastries spread out on the table.

    SPLAT!

There was a huge splat as the two fell face first on the baked goods. Icing, cake, pies and crust exploded all over the room. There was cake batter on the walls and the ceiling, a thick layer of icing hit every piece of furniture in the room, gallons of apple pie goop was smeared on the floor, and bits of crust flakes stuck to anything sticky enough. Rarity got the worst of it.

“OH MY GODDESS!” screamed the now very disgusting and filthy Rarity. ”I-I-I’m s-so, f-f-f-f-f-filthy!" she bagn to tear up. "Oh this is just the WORST. THING. EVER!” as she falls back into a magically pulled sofa.

“Oopises” says Pinkie, apparently unaware of all the chaos she has just caused.

“What’s going on in there?” shouted Mr. Cakes from the kitchen. “Is something wrong in there, I thought I heard an explosion.”

“Oh nothing wrong, nothing at all” Pinkie said quickly. “Just a little mishap.”

But it was too late, Mr. and Mrs. Cakes were already entering, jaws dropped at the mess that had taken their room.
“What happened to my party room!?” Mrs. Cakes yelled as a big glob of cake fell from the ceiling onto her face.
“We had a little itsy, bitsy……. Umm….” Pinkie stammered to try and fight the right word. “Complication.”

“Complication?” asked Mr. Cakes, with a stern look in his face.

“Yes, and look at the bright side, we have the streamers and balloons all set up.”

The Cakes just stare at her with disapproving looks.

After a while, Mr. Cakes finally speaks. “Oh Pinkie, what are we going to do with you?”

“It’s going to take forever to clean this up” sighs his wife. “You’re going to have to cancel the party Pinkie, I’m so sorry.”

“But what if we cleaned up” begged Pinkie. “We could all pitch in and help clean up”

“Well I’m sorry, but I just don’t think that’s possible” said Mr. Cakes.

“Mr. and Mrs. Cakes, would you ever be so kind as to let me use your shower” asked Rarity. “I am just such a mess.”

“Of Course dear” said Mrs. Cakes. “Top of the stairs and down the hall to the left, you can’t miss it.”

“Thank you” said Rarity as she heads up the stairs.

“Well, then I guess we should go call the professional” said Mr. Cakes as he walks back to into the kitchen. “Honey, what is the number for The Clean Sweeps Cleaning Co.” as he entered the kitchen his voice faded with him.

“Well this has been a complete waste of time” smirked the rainbow mare. “Wait a minute, where’s Fluttershy?”

“I’m under here” a soft voice uttered from under the table.

“Wow Fluttershy, have you’ve been hiding under there the whole time?” asked Rainbow.

“I…. I didn’t want to intervene with the conversation…” she quietly chirps.

“Wait a second” Pinkie said having realized something. “What’s a Clean Sweep Cleaning Co? And how come I’ve never heard of it?”

“Hmm?” thought Rainbow. “Oh right, they moved into town ‘bout week ago, they set up some sort of cleaning business.”

“But how come I don’t know them” Pinkie demanded. “I know every single pony in all of Ponyville!”

“Yeah, umm remember when I dared you to eat all those cupcakes in under ten minutes?” asked Rainbow.

“Oh yeah!” I remember that” said pinkie excitedly. “I was able to eat twenty, and then I passed out and slipped into that sugar coma for three days, and woke up in the hospital…”

Rainbow gives Pinkie a look as she tries to figure this out what Rainbow is talking about.

“OMG, they must have moved in when I was in the hospital!” explained Pinkie Pie, rather proud that she could figure that out.

“Yes you’re a genius” said Rainbow sarcastically.

Just then, there is a knock on the door.

“That must be the cleaners!” shouted Mrs. Cakes from the kitchen. “Pinkie, could you let them in please?”

“Ok” said Pinkie as she bounced over to the door.

    Pinkie opened the door.

“Hi, I’m Pinkie Pie, and this isssssss…….”

Her voice trailed off and for the first time in her life, Pinkie was silent. Her heart stopped, her jaw dropped, and her eyes widened as she gazed hotly upon the most handsome young stallion she has ever seen.

“Pinkie, are you alright?” asked Rainbow.

    Chapter 3: The Cleaning Pony

    A Very Special Somepony

    Chapter 3: The Cleaning Pony

He was a tall and slim pony with cloud white fur that seemed to match with his ever so perfect messy bleach yellow mane. His bright yellow eyes were like topaz, glimmering with the beauty of his every essence and soul. The pink pony just stood there, goggling over the pony that stood before her.

“Umm, hey there miss…” the stranger asked. He was a bit confused over the drooling pink mare that was blocking the doorway.

“Pinkie Pie!” she said suddenly, realizing that she has been staring at him. “My name is Pinkie Pie, but you can call me Pinkie” she said in an almost calm and controlled voice. She stepped aside from the door.

“Well nice to meet you Pinkie” he said as he walked into the room.

Pinkie was giggling to herself as she watched the stranger walk by here, never breaking eye-contact with his body. Her eyes slowly drifted from his face to the back of his head to his impressive figure and finally to his flank. That’s when she noticed that his cutie mark, or at least what she thought was his cutie mark was a jet black ink stain, but it wasn’t faded in like an actual stain, but solid black, as if it was a part of him.

The young stallion looked back at her, a concerned look on his face.

“Is she alright” he asked, directing the question to a rainbow headed mare.

“Oh yeah she’s, fine. Just Pinkie being Pinkie.” Rainbow gave a strange glance at Pinkie. “Although, she is being a lot quieter than usual. Most of the time you can’t get her to stop talking.”

“I see, interesting” he replied, and then he realized. “Oh where are my manners, my name is Ink Spot, by the way and you are…”

“The name’s Rainbow Dash, the fastest, most awesome pony in all of Ponyville” she boasted. “And hiding under the table there is Fluttershy.”

“Hi” Ink Spot said, giving the scared Fluttershy a friendly little wave. She just succumbed deeper into the table.

Rainbow let out a sigh. “Well there’s a reason that she’s called Fluttershy” said Rainbow.

“Hey son! Give us a hand out here” a strong, raspy voice called from outside.

“Coming!” he replied. “Excuse me for a sec” as Ink Spot raced outside the door, leaving the three girls alone.

Rainbow took a look at smiling and drooling Pinkie. It was if she has had some sort of stroke, or maybe she was struck by something. The rainbow pony was about to find out.

“Pinkie are you okay?” Rainbow asked. “You’re acting sort of weird. Like weirder than usual, quiet even…. Helloooooooo? Pinkie are you even listening to me.”

Pinkie was lost in a dream state. “Oh I’m okay” she replied in a soft, calm voice. “I’m better than okay, I’m in love…” she let another drop of drool slip out of her mouth.

“What?” rainbow asked a strange look on her face.

“He just the most amazing pony I ever saw” she said, giving a deep sigh of delight afterwards.

A snarky smile slowly formed on Rainbows face. “Ohmygosh! You like the cleaning pony don’t you?” she knew the answer already.

Pinkie just collapsed onto the floor, uncaring that it was covered in frosting and looked out the door, her front hooves holding up her big grin on her face.

“Oh wow that is just too funny!” laughed rainbow as she fell from the air into an uncontrollable fit, rolling around on the cake soaked floor.

“I think it’s nice” said Fluttershy, finally coming out from under the table.

“Alright dad” said Ink Spot as he entered the house once again. “Bring it in.”

A large scruffy grey pony walked in carrying a special looking vacuum cleaner, it had three vacuum hoses and arms with sorted dusters, spray bottles and wipes attached. It had an assortment of whistles emitting steam and colorful lights flashing red. The bizarre look of it reminded the ponies of a certain cider making machine that almost took Applejack out of business.

“Alright son, get this set up while I get your sister” the big stallion said to Ink Spot.

The big stallion put down the strange device and heads back outside the shop, as Ink Spot begins to examine the machine, after a moment he presses a big red button on the machine as it springs to life. The device begins to beep and bop as it sucks in all the cakes and pastries off the floor. The hands extend to the walls and ceiling, spraying the walls with cleaner and rubbing the spot until it was sparkling clean.

“Oh good, you’ve finally started to clean up” called Rarity as she walked down the stairs, still a little wet from her bath, and was wrapped in a pink bathrobe and her mane was wrapped up in a pink towel.

“Oh….hello Rarity, was your shower nice?” asked Fluttershy.

“Oh, it was simply divine, Fluttershy” said Rarity as she unwrapped the towel from her mane. With a few tosses of her head, her deep purple hair fell into her normal style.

“All Right ladies” the big pony said. “We are going to need you to move into the kitchen as the Super Cleaning Dirty Sweeping 6000 finishes up the party room.”

“The super cleaning what?” asked Rainbow, as they move into the kitchen, having to drag Pinkie paralyzed body by the tail.

“The Super Cleaning Dirty Sweeping 6000, the latest in home sweeping technology.” The large pony boasted proudly.

“We brought it with us when we moved from Manehatten” Ink Spot said as he walked into the kitchen with a little dirty filly following closing behind him.

“Oh, and who is this fine young steed we have here” said Rarity seductively, batting her eye lashes. “I don’t think that we have had the pleasure of meeting. I am Miss Rarity, of Carousel Boutique” holding out her hoof.

“What!?” Screamed Pinkie, breaking from her trance and replacing he love struck stare with that of daggers and hatred.
“Nice to meet you, Rarity, the name is Ink Spot, and over there is Clean Sweep, my father.”

    “Miss” the large pony said.

“And this is Clutter, my little sister” Ink Spot, said proudly, messing up the little filly’s hair.

“Hey there Mrs. Rare-e-tee” said Clutter giving the Rarity a big hug, effectively morphing the soot and dirt from her to white mare.

“Eek! Oh-umm nice to meet you to” Rarity said, tears starting to form at her eyes.

Pinkie let out a little laugh as she saw Rarity trying to hold back the clinging Clutter.

“What in the name of Celestia is that thing?” a familiar voice said from outside.

All at once, the ponies all looked out the kitchen door to see Twilight, Spike, and Apple jack. The three of them were looking at the strange cleaning device in the middle of the now clean room, the cleaning machine slowly begins to power down.

“Hey girls were in here” called Rainbow from the kitchen.

“Well it looks like it’s done cleaning” said Ink Spot as he and the rest of the ponies left the kitchen. “I guess we should probably leave.”

“What? No! You can’t leave yet” cried Pinkie. “You just got here!”

“I’m sorry, but we have other houses to clean” said Clean Sweep.

Pinkie looks franticly around the room, when she notices the fine flower pot of the table.

“Oopsie’s” she said as knocked the pot on to the floor.

“Are you kidding me?” Clean Sweeps grumbled, as he walked over to clean the broken pot.

“What’s wrong with her” asked Applejack, confused by the situation.

“Oh I think Pinkie is just upset that the party is canceled” said Fluttershy. “You see, there was an acc-“

“PARTY!!!!!” screamed Pinkie, a huge grin quickly formed on her face as her big blue eyes grew bigger with excitement.

“What?” said the startled Rainbow Dash.

“A PARTY!” she repeated. She began bouncing all over the room. “Sweepy’s, you don’t know this but I throw a party for all new residence of Ponyville. And we haven’t been able to give you a party yet. OOOOOOHHH! You should come by again tomorrow, so I can throw you a delayed welcome to Ponyville party!”

“Gee, I don’t know” began Ink Spot.

“Pretty Please” the pink pony begged, bent down on her knees, giving him big pony eyes.

“Well….You know what, yeah I’ll be there.” Ink Spot said. Pinkie Pie began to beam brightly.

“Oh yes oh yes oh yes oh yes oh yes!” she chattered expolding with new life. “Now everypony needs to get out I have a lot of planning to do before tomorrow.”

“Wait what?” said Twilight, as she, Rainbow and everypony else was pushed outside the house by Pinkie.

“Goodbye everypony” she called, closing the door behind her. She reopens quickly.

“Goodbye Ink Spot” she cooed, slamming the door a second time.

“Okay, does somepony want to tell us what the hoot just happened right there?” Applejack demanded.

    Chapter 4: My Perfect Somepony

    A Very Special Somepony

    Chapter:4 My Perfect Somepony

“Hello? Is anypony even listening to me?” Applejack was really starting to get annoyed by all the blank stares on her friend’s faces.

But nothing. Applejack wanted to get her friends to listen to her as they sat outside of Sugarcube Corner, having just a few minutes been thrown out by Pinkie Pie.

“Helloooooo?” Her words seemed to just go through one ear and out the other. But it was their blank expressions on their faces that really got to her. It was as if they had seen an Ursa Major or something.

She tried again. “Hello? Is anypony home?” looking right into the eyes of Fluttershy.

Fluttershy finally breaks from here trance. “What……..Oh I’m sorry Applejack, I guess I didn’t hear you, I hope that you’re not mad.”

“Shoot sugar cube, now why would I be mad?” asked Applejack. “I was just wondering why y’all were actin so strange in there.”

Rainbow finally snaps out of her trance. “Whoa, what was that all about?”

“My thought exactly” replied the stern working cowpony.

Rainbow begins to start flying into the air. “That was just weird. I mean, I know that she likes him but she did have to throw us out like that!”

Twilight slowly began to wake up. “Yeah…. Wait? What?!” the shocked Twilight blurted out.

Rainbow remembers that they weren’t there to see the silent and drooling Pinkie Pie. “Oh… right, you guys weren’t there, well to make a long story short…. Pinkie likes that cleaning guy.

Rarity was gasped in horror. “Pinkie likes Clean Sweeps? But he’s so much older than her!”

Rainbow just facehoofed. “Not the old steed Rarity. That’s just gross….. I’m talking about the younger one, Ink Spot he was called, I think.”

Applejack stares at her friend with a stern and serious look. “Are you saying that Pinkie, PINKIE PIE, are crazy, hyperactive, out of control pony… Has taken the liken to a cleanin pony she just met t’day.”

“Yes” Rainbow replied. “Yes I am.”

The cowpony breaks out laughing. “That a darn hoot Rainbow, but y’all have to do better than that to fool me.”

Fluttershy hesitantly steps forward. “Actually, umm, I think Pinkie does like Ink Spot.”

“Well” said Rarity. “I think that it was just Pinkie being Pinkie, she does tend to take things a bit far sometimes. And she does through a party for everypony.”

“Oh no…. I think this is different” the quiet pony whispered. “She has never been that quiet before. Not even when she sleeps….. She could actually like this pony” all ponies stare at her. “I mean…. I don’t know….maybe” she said retreating from the conversation.

“Exactly Fluttershy” agreed Rainbow Dash. “Didn’t you guys see the way she got all worked up when Rarity was flirting with Ink Spot?”

Rarity began to blush. “Wha-what are you talking about dear, I was doing nothing of the sort” her face was full on red as everypony gave her a look. “I was just being formal, and I would never oppose on another mare’s catch, that would be unlady like.”

“So you don’t like him?” asked Spike hopefully.

“Of course dear” she saids reassuring the little dragon. “Well I must admit he does have some…. Notable features; he simply is not my type.”

Twilight smiles. “Well that’s a relief. If Pinkie does like Ink Spot, then at least there won’t to be any sort of drama between you two.”

Spike looked to Rarity. “Yeah, a relief.”

The ponies just stood there for what seemed like an hour, before Rainbow spoke.

“Well, now what do we do?” asked Rainbow. “My next nap isn’t due for another hour.”

All the ponies began to ponder what to do. After much thinking, Twilight breaks the silence.

“We could all go to the park” she suggests.

Without anything better to do, the five ponies and the purple dragon all decided to head to the park nearby to blow of some time. The weather outside was beautiful. The winter wrap up was wrapped up not too long ago, and spring was in full bloom by now. Flowers were beginning to bud and unfold in a sea of multi-colour beauty. The friends found a nice resting spot on top a hill with a large oak tree on top casting a cooling shadow on the ponies.

“This seems as good a spot as any” said Applejack as they settle in on the hill top.

“So what do you think of this Pinkie Pie thing” asked Twilight.

“It’s certainly is strange” admitted Rainbow. “Who would have thought Pinkie could like someone that way. She likes everybody, but not that much.”

“Well I think it’s sweet” chimes Rarity. “Everypony should have a special somepony for Hearts and Hooves day.”

“Oh right, it’s almost hearts and hooves day” chuckled Applejack. “I guess the love hit somepony a little early.”

Rarity gives a long sigh. “Oh can you imagine the perfect somepony for me? He would be handsome of course, but he’d also be modest, charming, funny, and of above all, he’d treat me like the lady that I am.”

Rainbow laughs. “Sounds a lot like that Prince Blueblood you were crazy about.”

Rarity shuddered at the memory. “Ugh, that prince was nothing but a pile of royal horse manure, and that’s me being modest.”

All the ponies laugh at their memory of the Grand Galloping Gala, and how it was nothing that they had expected.

“Good times we had there” Rainbow giggled. “My favorite part of the whole night was when Fluttershy went all psychos on those animals.”

“Heh, heh…..yeah that was bad” said Applejack.

Fluttershy just looked at her hooves and blushed with embarrassment.

“Any hooves” said Rarity, steering the topic back to Hearts and hooves days. “What are your dream ponies?”

“Oh please” Rainbow snickered. “You guys don’t believe in all that mushy gushy hearts and hooves day magic? That’s just some stupid excuse to sell chocolates and flowers for twice the bits.”

“That wasn’t the question” frowned Rarity.

“Well if I had to have a stupid pony on stupid Hearts and Hooves day” Rainbow began. “He’d have to be fast” she soars into the air. “He’d have to strong” as she flexes her muscles. “But most important” she grinned, “He has to worship every ounce of my awesomeness!”

“How very…… Humble?” the white mare thought out loud. “What about you Twilight? Who’s your dream stallion?”

“I don’t know” she thought. “I guess a smart, well-knowledge pony with a love of magic, and books”. She became excited. “Oh we could spend hours buy the fire, just studying new spells and works of history….” Twilight slowly slunk down on the grass, relaxed and lost in her fantasy.

“Twilight?” Rarity called. “Are you okay?”

She didn’t reply as big smile slowly formed across her face.

Rarity rolled her eyes and sighed. “Well she’s lost, but what about you Fluttershy?”

“What? Oh I-I-I don’t know” she said nervously. “I guess…….. A pony that I could talk to……A pony that I can be around without being a-afraid to express myself…” she began to get quiet. “But anypony would be nice….. I don’t care what he looks like……. Just that he’s nice to me.”

All of her friends looked at her with awe. They were kinda impressed with her interests in a colt.

“AWWWW, that’s just precious Fluttershy” gleamed Rarity. She turned to Applejack. “Alright Applejack, your turn.”

“Aw, horse apples” she muttered. ”Umm, let’s see here” she thought. “He’d have to be strong, and like apples I guess….”

“You guess?” asked Rarity. “This is the colt of your dreams! The stallion to sweep you off your hooves in a magical
embrace as you ride off in the sunset, forever each other’s in love!"

In her rant, she had managed to climb up the tree.

“Hey I’m just a little indifferent, and I’ve got no time to find a coltfriend” said Applejack, getting annoyed with the pressure she was reciting. “And speaking of no time, I’ve got work to do. See you later everypony” she called as she walked away waving to her friends.

“WORK!” screamed Twilight. She had completely forgotten about all the work she had left to do at home. “I’m sorry everypony, but Spike and I need to get back to the library, we have a schedule to keep.”

Twilight quickly got up from the ground and ran towards Spike, who was sleeping under the tree. Abruptly woken from his nap, he is thrown on Twilight’s back as she sprinted to the library.”

“Come on Spike” she called looking back at the groggy dragon on her back. “We have to still make the list for our to-do list before we can even think of doing anything else.” She began to break out in an all-out sprint. “first we need to get on that to do list….”

Twilight began to run out of the park, dodging everypony that could get in her way. Hurdling over carts and ducking under pegesi, she finally reaches the library and backs into the door, pushing it open with her flank.

“Then, when we finish polishing the telescope, we have to actually start to-“she began.
She didn’t see the pony in the room.

“Hey their Twilight” a strange but familiar voice said.

“What?” she thought. She hadn’t heard that voice in so long. Could it actually be him? “Is that…” she turned around and was shocked to see who it was. “Soulstice?” she said. “Is that really you?”

“In the flesh” smiled Soulstice. “It’s been awhile, hasn’t it Twi?”

    Chapter 5: Soulstice

    A Very Special Somepony

    Chapter 5: Soulstice

“Oh my stars!” Twilight happily squeals. “Soulstice?” Is that really you?

The dark unicorn from her youth gave her a friendly smile. He hasn’t changed in much in the years that she last saw him from her youth. He was still that dark shade of blue with the same short and messy mane of cyan blue. She looked deep into his golden autumn eyes and his deep red, jagged scar on his eye…..Wait a scar?

She gave a whelp of horror. “Soulstice! What happened to your eye?”

He gave her a confused look, and then remembered that she hadn’t seen him for a while. “Oh right, this old thing. Relax, it was just a scratch, and I got it a while ago doing some research. Just a spell that went wrong.”

Twilight seemed very worried about her friend. “Are you okay? Does it hurt? Can you still see through that eye?” she had so many question for him. It had been so long since she’d seen him.

“Yes, no, and yes” Soulstice replied, still keeping his smile. “It was a long time ago, about a few years after my family and l left for Manehatten.”

She felt terrible, had it really been years since he left? “I’m so sorry”. It was the only thing to come to mind.

“Don’t be sorry. Besides…. “He half closed his eyes and smirked. “All the mares love it.”

He began to laugh to himself, only he knew the pain that it really caused him. But he was right, mares do love scars.

“My god, you haven’t changed a bit” Twilight sighed, giving him a nudge with her hoof. “So do you still have your head stuck in the sky?”

“That depends” he said. “That all depends, do you still have your nose stuck in a book?”

She blushed and let out a little giggle.

“Yeah, that what I thought” Soulstice said, rolling his eyes.

Twilight still had more question for him. “So, Soulstice, how have things been? I haven’t seen you since you left the academy?”

“Well…” he began. “After we left Canterlot for Manehatten, I was enlisted in the Star Seekers School for Starology, it was no ‘Celestia School for Gifted Unicorn’ but it was still nice.”

“Well that’s not a surprise” she said. “You always did have a thing for stars. So anyways, go on.”

Soulstice continued. “Well after Graduation, I got a job back at Canterlot, as…” he paused for a moment, readying a big announcement. “A Stargazer.”

    “That’s quite impressive” she said.

“I’m not finished” he smirked. “A Stargazer…. For Princess Celestia”

“Really!” Twilight said excitedly. “That’s incredible!”

“Thank you. You know, the first thing that I wanted to do when I got back was see you” he said his smile started to fade, “But then I heard that you moved somewhere, I wasn’t told where you moved, didn’t know where to write, if was as if you just….disappeared.”

Twilight was starting to tear up a little. She had completely forgotten to tell him where she was. She had just been so busy with her work, and then there was the incident with Nightmare Moon, and then again with Discord. “I’m so sorry” was all that she could think to say.

“Hey, hey there…” he began. “Don’t be like that, we both got caught up in our own lives….. And we unfortunately forgot.”

Twilight began to feel a little better; the blue unicorn put his hoof to raise her chin, making her look into his endless, mysterious eyes. They seemed to flicker like a calm fire, warming her very soul as she lost himself in those big eyes.

“Besides” Soulstice said, breaking the silence. “I never would have gotten this if I’d stayed in Canterlot” he put her chin down as he turned sideways showing her his flank. “Got this when I while stargazing one night.” It was his cutie mark, a silver shooting star, surrounded by dozens of little stars. “I was looking through my Telescope and I saw it, the most beautiful shooting star in my life” he looked through the window, the sun was beginning to set. “It reminded me of everything that was good in my life; it made me feel….Happy.”

    “Wow” gasped Twilight Sparkles.

“Yeah well that’s all interesting” the Purple dragon finally perked up. “But it doesn’t explain exactly what you’re doing here?”

“Right, right, the reason I’m here.” chuckled Soulstice. “I almost had forgotten to tell you two. I came to Ponyville to do research on a mysterious happening in Equestria. The mysterious ‘Red Heart Moon’.”

    “The what?” asked Spike.

“The Red Heart Moon’” repeated Soulstice. “Here take a seat you two, and I’ll explain everything.”

The Three of them went down to the study, where twilight had cushions and chairs for them to sit on, as soon as they were all settled in, Soulstice began his explanation.

“A thousand years ago” he began. “Back when Equestria was still young and new, every year on hearts and hooves day, there was an event that created the holiday as we know it today. It was the Red Heart Moon.”

The purple unicorn’s eyes begin to widen with anticipation.

“For a unknown reason, a magical pony, neither uni or alicorn, had the power to create a magical aura that engulfed the moon, and rained down love and intimacy too all ponies that were with their special somepony.

    “Incredible” gasped Twilight.

“And this would happen every year for the next eight hundred years” he said, getting more intense as he continued. “But then, about two hundred years ago, the magical pony disappeared, and with him, so did the Red Heart Moon.”

“Wait” began Spike. “I’m a little confused, if the moon stopped turning red, then why are you here?”

“I’m glad you brought that up” said Soulstice. “Three days ago, I was doing some sky searching when I noticed that the moon was different. A small crescent of it was bright red. And, after studying it every night since, I have noticed that the moon has been filling up little by little every night since.”

    “Are you saying that-“Twilight began.

“Correct” he interrupted. “For some unknown reason, the moon is slowly turning red. I have already ran the numbers and if they are correct, the moon will be completely red by the night of Hearts and Hooves Day.”

“Is that bad?” asked Spike scratching his head.

“Not sure” Soulstice said. “All the princess wanted me to do was go down to Ponyville and investigate. She said I could find help there” he looked at Twilight, giving her a heartwarming grin. “I never expected it to be you.”

Twilight began to blush again. “Well, it’s a great surprise all around, and be of course I will help you out! What are friends for?!”

“Thanks Twilight” he smiled. “I knew I could count on you.”

“Don’t mention it” she told him.

Soulstice started to kick the ground a little as he started heading to the door. “Well I should probably find a hotel or something” Soulstice began.

“What?” stuttered Twilight. “No friends of mine will stay in some hotel, as long as you’re in Ponyville, you can stay with me.”

“Really, I wouldn’t want to impose” explained Soulstice.

“It’s not imposing” beamed twilight, “I would love for you to stay with us.”

“Well then, okay!” he said excitedly. “I just got to grab a few things and then maybe we can go find a clear spot and I can show you the moon.”

“Sounds Great” Twilight said, as she watched the blue unicorn head out of the library.

Chapter 6: Back at the Ranch

    A Very Special Somepony

Chapter 6: Back at the Ranch

The sun was about to set on the Apple’s Family Acres. Away in the far off fields of apple trees, the Apple Family was trying to finish up the rest of their apple bucking before calling it a day. The day was long and hotter than usual, and Applejack was trying her best to make up lost time from that morning. The party that she was supposed to go to that morning was cancelled because apparently Pinkie was in love with some cleaning pony. So since she didn’t have anything else to do, she decided to go back to the ranch and help with the harvest.

“Now wait a darn second Applejack!” demanded Applebloom. “Ur saying that Pinkie Pie is in love with somepony?”

“That’s what I told y’all, you don’t have to keep bothering me bout it” said her older sister, clearly getting annoyed with Applebloom’s pestering. “Now hurry up with those apples, it’s gonna be getin dark soon.

“Big Macintosh, do you think that Pinkie Pie is in love?” asked Applebloom to her big brother.

Big Macintosh just stood there staring with a confused look. His eyes saying ‘why are you asking me’?

“Aw well what you know about love anyways?” scorned Appleblooms.

Big Macintosh just rolls his eyes and got back to his pulling apples.

“Well I think that she’s in love” Applebloom stated.

“Oh really, and what makes you reckon that?” Applejack asks.

“Because it’s almost hearts and hooves day!” Appleblooms screams as she jumps with joy at the very thought of it.

“Horse Apples” she groaned. “That’s the last thing I need, another love struck filly to have to deal with.”

“I can’t help it AJ, I’m just so excited” she just bit her lips with excitement.

Applejack sighed at her little sister. After all, she was still young, young enough not to now about the harsh world of reality, and that love isn’t just giving some young colt or filly a red heart covered in glitter and stickers. She decided it would just be best to let her be a filly. She didn’t have to grow up today.

“Well, as long as you don’t be messin with others personal businesses like last time” Applejack gave a look to her brother, who smiled at the thought of those events that happened almost a year ago. “And please, Applebloom, leave me out of it. I’ve got enough on my plate not to have to worry about you setting me up with some random pony.”

“Well who knows” Applebloom snickered. “I can’t control who the love bug bites” as she pretends to bite Applejack.

“Quit it Apple Blo—hey!” Applejack came dangerously close to being bitten by her sister.

“Relax Applejack, I was only kidding” said the little filly as she was calming down.

“Well, like I said. Keep it to yourself” Applejack grunted.

    HONK! HONK! HONK!

There was a loud honking noise. Flocks of sleepy birds scurried away, fleeing from the noise. The ponies looked up, searching for the source of the noise.

“What the hay was that?” asked Applejack.

“Hey Big Mac” Applebloom asked her brother. “Was that who I thought it was?”

Big Mac nodded with excitement. “Yeeeuuuup.”

The large red stallion began to trot lightly to the gate of the ranch.

“Who was that you thought it was?” asked Applejack. Her sister takes off after her brother. “Why isn’t anypony listening to me today? I’m getting mighty sick of it!” she yelled as she ran to catch up with Applebloom.

“What’s that sis?” asked Applebloom from up ahead. “I wasn’t able to catch that! Speak louder!”

Applejack has had enough. “I’m gonna get you!” She yelled, breaking into a full out sprint, easily able to catch up with Applebloom.

By the time that they got to the front gate of the ranch, there was a large wooden carriage parked by the gate. On top of the carriage there seemed to be a lot of bags and suitcases.

“He’s here! He’s here!” cried Applebloom.

Applejack approaches her sister; her breath is a little heavy from the sprint she just ran. “Is somepony gonna tell me what is going on and who is here?”

Applebloom looks at her sister with a state of confusion. “It’s Big Macintosh’s friend from the Canterlot, it’s just been the only thing that he’s been talkin ‘bout for the past week.”

    “Big Mac…… talk?” she thought

Just then, the door of the carriage flew open and a strange green glow came from inside.

“What in the name of Celestia is that?” asked Applejack, eyes locked on the strange glowing aura.

A pony is what emerged from the carriage, but not just any pony, but a pony that seemed to be the cause of the glowing. There he stood, a strange looking steed with bright green fur emitting an even brighter green glow.

“Hey Big M!” the strange pony said, he seemed to have a weird way of talking, not an accent or a lisp but it seemed a bit robotic. Kind of like Vinyl Scratch’s voice modifier. “Man has it been a looooonnng time, hey how ya been keepin up Big M, you been doing okay?”

    “Yeeeeeuuuuup” he said.

“Hey there!” shouted Applebloom as she went to greet the glowing pony.

“Well you must be Applejack!” he said, scrunching Applebloom’s hair with his hoof. “I’ll be honest, I sort of pictured you being a little taller.”

“I’m not Applejack” she said, as she pointed her hoof to her sister. “THAT there is Applejack, I’m Applebloom.”

“Oh…” he said, a little embarrassed, “I knew that!” The glowing pony began to approach the real Applejack. “Hello Miss Applejack.”

She couldn’t help but blush. “Well howdy to you too…. Umm…”

“Oh, I’ve forgotten to introduce myself, the name is Gigawatt. Might I say it is pleasure to make your acquaintance” he gave Applejack a tooth smile. Like everything else about the pony, his tooth seemed to emit a bright glare of light.

She squints her eyes to avoid the bright shine of his teeth. “Well, ain’t you a sweet talker.”

“Sooooooo” butted in Applebloom. “How come we’ve never met before?”

Gigawatt laughed light-heartedly at the question. “Well, I knew you brother here back when we use to go to school, he was in a higher grade than me of course, but we always seemed to get along.”

    “So what happened?” asked Applebloom.

Gigawatt continued his story. “Well unfortunately, my parents were given a job working in the science department in the University of Canterlot. They took this as the opportunity of a life time and we just took off” he became quiet.

“So you had to move away?” asked Applejack.

“Yeah but it wasn’t all bad” he sighed. “Me and Mac always stayed in touch, and I even was given a position at the University.”

“Wow” thought Applejack. “So your one of those one of those, ‘genius, mind science guys?’ shoot I have a friend that you’ll just simply love.” She smiled at the thought of Gigawatt and Twilight talking about magic and science and other things she didn’t care to understand.

“I wouldn’t say genius……” there was a bit of a pause. “Well I’m beat, why don’t we head inside before it gets to dark.”
“Ooooo! Ooooo!” screeched Applebloom. “Follow me I’ll show you to your room.”

Gigawatt smiled at the excited filly. “Why thank you Bloomy, that would be wonderful.”

Applebloom beams at her new pet name as she forcefully drags Gigawatt to the house. Big Macintosh grabs all of his bags in his mouth as he follows his friends to the house. Gigawatt looks back to see that Applejack is still just standing there. He calls back to her. “Hey! Aren’t you coming with us?”

Applejack shakes her head nervously. “Naw, it’s ok, I’m just gonna check up on the……umm apples! Yeah apples.”
“Well, if I don’t see you again tonight then….. Good night Applejack.” He said as he gave her a friendly wave before disappearing into the house.

“Well he sure is something” she thought. It was true, she never had seen such a strange and unique pony, so different than any other pony that she had ever seen. It fascinated her. “Whoa there sugar cube, what gotten into ya” she thought. Why did she have this weird feeling in her gut, indigestion? No that wasn’t it? Twilight would probably know. But it’s too late to visit her. “Could it be….no.” she shook her head again. I mean sure he was cute in a strange quirky way. His glowing green fur, that spikey blue and yellow mane, those thick sunglasses trying to cover his beautiful pink eyes. Beautiful? Was that what she thought he was? “Come on girl, keep it together!” she demanded. “You can’t let Applebloom get to ya.” She started to walk to the house. But she couldn’t stop thinking about Gigawatt.

Chapter 7: The Stars at Night

    A Very Special Somepony

Chapter 7: The Stars at Night

The moon was hoisted fully into the sky as Twilight Sparkles, Soulstice, and Spike were all making their way into the park to study the Red Heart Moon; a strange cosmetic event that had been dormant for over two hundred.

“It sure is beautiful out tonight” Soulstice said as he put down the bag of stargazing supplies.

Twilight smiled at her friend. “It sure is” she said, nodding in agreement. “Hey Soulstice, remember when we use to sneak out at night to go and star gaze?” she asked.

The blue stallion grinned as he looked up into the stars, as he remember him and the little filly Twilight giggling and sneaking into the schools observatory, where they would look through the giant telescope and they would point out all the constellations and planets. “Yeah, those were good time.”

“We sure did some crazy things when we were young” Twilight laughed. To her that was her largest sense of rebellion she has ever had.

Spike was finally up the hill after dragging a five hundred pound telescope, or what at least felt like that. “Hey Twilight, can you help me out for a sec?”

“Sure thing Spike. Excuse me for a second” she said as she trotted to the exhausted dragon.

“No problem, I’ll just get set up” Soulstice went to grab the telescope and pulled it higher up on the hill.

“What’s up Spike?” asked Twilight when they were both alone.

“I just had a question.” He took a big breathe. “How come you never talked about Soulstice before?

“What” she thought. She had realized that Soulstice hadn’t been on her mind lately, but surely she had mentioned it to Spike at some point. Or did she? It wasn’t like her to forget someone so important to her, but she has been incredibly busy as of lately.

“Oh I’m sure I at least mentioned him. You know, at least once” she laughed nervously.

Spike just stared at her, but ultimately, decided to leave it for now. just then there was a call from the top of the hill.

“Hey Twilight! We have a little problem up here!” shouted Soulstice.

A look of terror struck twilights face. “Oh my stars! What’s wrong? is it something with the telescope?”

“No that’s up it, It’s the sky” he pointed up to see that an abundance of thick grey clouds began to clutter the sky.

“Oh is that all” smiled Twilight. “That’s not a big deal.”

“Not a big deal? No offense Twilight, but without a clear sky, we can’t exactly see the moon…..”

Twilight just rolled her eyes. “You know, for a pony that always has his head in the clouds your…..” She couldn’t finish it, kind of screwed it up. “Look, don’t worry, unlike someponies, I talked to the weather ponies before we got here and had them send a good friend down for help.”

Soulstice just gave her a sly look, almost like he was impressed. “Well look who is all high and mighty, Miss Twilight” he said sarcastically.

Twilight couldn’t help but let a laugh slip out. “Well, somepony has to be. And if not you then it might as well be me.” She gave him a devious stare back. Soulstice just rolls his eyes.

“So who exactly is coming here again?” he asked.

“Oh, just the fastest, coolest, and most awesome pony in all of Ponyville, no scratch that, ALL OF EQUESTRIA!” boomed a voice from the sky.

The two ponies and the dragon looked up into the sky, and sure enough the cyan blue, Rainbow Dash swooped down from the sky and landed by the two unicorns.

“Hey Twi! Who’s this guy?” she asked bluntly.

“Rainbow Dash, this is Soulstice. He’s here to so some research on a strange cosmetic happening called the re-“

Rainbow cut her off mid-sentence. “Yeah that’s great Twi, hey can you just tell me what I need to do? I kinda need to get some sleep before my next nap.”

“Oh, okay I guess…” she said. “If you could just move some of these clouds so we can see the moon. It would be really appreciated.”

“Is that all?” she snickered at the menial task she was given. “No problem, I can do that in ten seconds flat!”

And just like that, rainbow bolted up into the air, swirling and twirling as she began to clear the sky of the clouds.

Soulstice looked at Twilight. “She seems……nice?”

Twilight just laughed at his response, he wasn’t use to dealing with Rainbow. “Don’t worry about her. She may be a bit self-centered, but she is a good pony.”

“WOOHOOO!!” screamed Rainbow as she dashed through the clouds, each one exploding as she bolted through them.

Soulstice couldn’t help but smile. “Yeah, she seems like a real blast.”

“Almost done up here guys!” shouted Rainbow from the sky. She began to make a das h towards the last cloud left in the sky.

    WHAMM!!

Just suddenly there is a huge explosion of clouds as two pegesi began to hurtle towards the ground, hitting the earth with a tremendous thud.

“OH NO!” screamed Twilight, as she, Soulstice and Spike run towards the crash site. Spike was the first to arrive.
“Hey Rainbow!” he called. “Are you okay?”

Emerging from the dust, the now dizzy and dusty Rainbow emerged from the ground. “Yeah I’m okay, I guess” she seemed to still be a bit groggy.

There was a moan coming from the ground on the other side of Rainbow.

“Hey that’s the guy who ran into me!” Rainbow scowled angrily. “Hey dude, what gives?”

The shadowy figure began to rise, he fluttered his wings to clear the dust from him and the air around him. He gave another groan as the pegesus but his hoof over his head, trying to nurse it better. The pony stepped forward a few feet revealing himself.

“Ow, Goddess…… My head…” he groaned.

The dust had all cleared as Rainbow looked to see another pegesus standing before her. He was a slim pony, but he still seemed to have muscular looking wings. His fur was a messy, light brown. His mane and tail were long; longer than most stallions’ manes were at least, and it seemed to part down the middle, so that his hair falls down on both side of his neck, covering his squinty brown eyes.

“Hey, stupid, watch were your going next time!” said Rainbow angrily.

He was slow to respond. “What……. What are you talking about?” the other pegesi replied. “It’s not my fault that you can’t fly!”

“Did you say what I though you said?” Rainbow said furiously. “Do you know who your talking too?”

“Yeah” he replied. “I’m talking to the dumb mare who can’t watch where she’s going!”

    “Oh you did not jus-“

    “Oh yes I did!”

“I’m Rainbow Dash! Fastest, coolest, most athletic and awesomest pony in all of Equestria!”

“You wish. That title belongs to me: The Stray Cloud!”

    “The what?”

“Stray Cloud, professional ninja, master of stealth and speed. Nopony is faster than me, especially some rainbow mane loser!”

    “Oh yeah?!”

    “Yeah!”

“Alright then” said Rainbow, catching her breath from the long exchange of words she just had. “Prove it, you and me right now! first to Cloudsdale and back wins!”

“I accept your challenge. Prepare to lose miserable at the hands of the mighty brad-“

“GO!” screamed Rainbow, racing towards the cloud city.

“Hey, no fair! You fly with no honor!” screamed Stray Cloud as he flew after her.

The two unicorns and dragon just stand there, unsure of what exactly just happened.

“What the hay just happened?” asked Soulstice, confused at what had just unfolded.

    “I……” began Twilight. “I don’t know.”

Soulstice looks at Twilight. “Should we……. Get back to work?”

“Oh right! The moon. I’ve almost forgotten.” Said Twilight as the two made their way back to the telescope.

“Okay, so if you take a look through here…” he adjusted the telescope’s sights and focuses. “And if you look closely, you can see that the moon is almost half full of a strange red light.

Sure enough when twilight took a look through the telescope and looked at Luna’s moon, she saw that Soulstice was right. The moon was almost half red, with just a small crescent on the left side still being white, while the right side was still glowing a bright white.

“By the stars……” Twilight said, pulling her bewildered head away from the telescope. “This is just incredible!”

“Exactly! Twilight do you know what this means?” Soulstice began.

Before he was able to finish, there was a loud screaming coming from the sky. The two looked up and saw a blue and brown blur hurtling towards them.

    “LOOK OUT!” Rainbow screamed.

The unicorns were able to move quickly enough to avoid the pegesus. Unfortunately, the telescope didn’t.

    CRASH!!

Rainbow and Stray Cloud fell from the sky, completely destroying the telescope.

“Don’t you ever get tired of crashing?” Stray Cloud said to Rainbow, face down in the dirt.

“AWWW, is somepony jealous because they lost a race to a certain awesome cyan pony” Rainbow said smugly, her face stuck in the front of the telescope.

    “OH I LET YOU WIN!”

    “YEAH YOU WISH!”

    “WELL, YOU CHEATED!”

    “DID NOT!”

    “DID TOO!”

“ENOUGH! BOTH OF YOU!” screamed Twilight, smoke whistling out of her ears. They had destroyed her telescope, and now they would both pay for it. She began to concentrate as she separated the two arguing ponies with her magic.

“HEY WHAT THE?” said a startled Stray Cloud.

“You two are going to apologize for breaking my telescope and then we are all going to go home!” said Twilight sternly.

The two pegesi looked at each other, then at Twilight. She did not look happy. Not happy at all.

“Alright, I’m sorry Twilight” Rainbow finally muttered.

“For breaking your telescope, I am truly sorry” said Stray Cloud, bowing his head in shame.

“Alright, now both of you, GO HOME.”

The two didn’t argue, and as soon as they were released, Rainbow flew off. Never once looking back.

Stray Cloud looked at the two unicorns, his head still bent downwards. “I am sorry, for ruining your evening, and your telesocope.”

    “Oh that’s okay, we’ll jus-“

“Ninja Smoke Bomb!” he yelled, throwing a small round pellet from his tail to the ground, exploding in a screen of smoke. As the smoke cleared, the pegasus had completely vanished.

“Wow Twilight” said Spike. “That was so cool.”

“I’m glad you found that entertaining Spike” she coughed.

    Soulstice began to laugh.

    “What’s so funny” Twilight asked.

“It’s just that……” he began but started to laugh more.

    “What?” Twilight demanded.

Soulstice shoots her a grin. “I was just thinking, they’d make a cute couple.”

The purple pony just laughed at her friends observation.

“Come on” she said. “It’s starting to get late.”

Soulstice nodded with agreement as they pick up the now sleeping Spike and head back to the library, bathing in the red glow of the moonlight.

Chapter 8: Why No Guys, For Sweet Fluttershy

    A Very Special Somepony

Chapter 8: No Guys for Fluttershy

It was another sunny day in ponyville, as the clouds form the previous night began to part, and the sun shined its lights all across Equestrisa. Light peered through the window shades of a small little cottage on the outskirts of the Everfree Forest. It hit the sight of a sleepy yellow pegasus, she squinted as she rolled over to try and ignore the sun.

Fluttershy slowly opened her eyes to look at the emptiness that lay beside her. Fluttershy had been waking up alone everyday of her entire life. She slowly reached her hooves around her vacant pillow to embrace it. A single tear rolled down her eye as she squeezed the pillow tightly, how she longed wish to do hug somepony else besides this pillow. She moaned before she closed her eyes as she imagined the most beautiful stallion she could imagine. She soon slipped off in a day dream.

He was tall, muscular, with long a flowing mane of thick brown hair blowing in the wind. “Come to me Fluttershy” as he urged her to come closer as he ripped off his shirt. She willingly galloped towards him in slow motion as a tidal wave broke on the rocks of the beach, causing a spray of ocean water to rain ever so gently on the two ponies. Their lips grew nearer, and nearer until finally there was a knock at the door.

    Wait, what?

There was another knock at the door.

Fluttershy eyes shot open, she pulled her lips away the now drool drenched pillow and placed it by her side. She slowly got up to her mirror, soaking in her reflection, as she ran a brush through her hair. She looks through her jewelry box and pulls out a small hair clip with butterflies that matched her cutie mark on it. Today was a big day, so she decided to cut loose and wear the clip.

    There was a third knock.

“Oh….I’m coming” she whispered, there was no way that the pony heard her called out. She quickly put in the hairclip and ran down to her living room. The rest of her animals were already up, except for Angel bunny who was trying to block out the knocking noise with some throw pillows.

Fluttershy finally reaches the door. “I’m sorry”, she opened the door as a pink blur explodes into the house. Frightened animals scurried under the couch and inside of cupboards, and a frightened Fluttershy bolted up to her room and hid under her bed.

The pink pony took a look around “Fluttershy?” she called as she wondered upstairs. “Fluttershy, where are you?” she called out as she opened the door to the bedroom.

“Oh, it’s you Pinkie” Fluttershy said quietly from under her bed. She slowly comes out from underneath “I didn’t realize it was you.”

“Well of course it is me silly!” she smiled as she pulled Fluttershy from under the bed. “Hey Fluttershy? Can I ask you something?” Pinkie bounced onto the bed and fell face first on a pillow. She then immediately bolted right back up. “EWWWW, is this…” she took a lick of the moist pillow, “Drool?”

“Oh, well, umm” the shy pony began. “I just, umm………” she fell silent.

“Well, whatever” Pinkie said, tossing the soggy pillow across the room. “I have a super special secret, and I just needed to tell somepony, and I thought to myself ‘Pinkie Pie, your best friend Fluttershy can keep a secret’ and I was like ‘Your Right Pinkie, she can keep a secret from anypony in all of Equestria!’ so I ran all the way here to tell you. Isn’t that just GREAT!” she leaned close into Fluttershy’s face. “I can trust you, right?”

“Oh yes, of course Pinkie” Fluttershy reassured her friend. “I would never tell another pony’s secret. Never.”

Pinkie wasn’t quite sure. “Hmmm” she thought and then asked “Do you Pinkie Promise?”

“Oh yes” replied Fluttershy as she crossed her heart and jabbed her hoof into her eye.

“Great! Now come here, nopony else can hear this…” Pinkie leaned towards Fluttershy as she whispered. “You remember that pony Ink Spot that came in to clean up yesterday after somepony shot that confetti cannon?” she asked.

“Umm, Pinkie that was you who shot the cannon” replied Fluttershy.

Pinkie frowned at her friend. “Details” she said. “Minor details. Anyhooves, You know Ink Spot, the cleaning pony? ”

    “Yes”

“Well….” Pinkie took a big breath and finally blurted it all out. “I kinda have a teeny, weenie, itsy, bitsy spider crush on him” her entire face turned red as she gave a sigh of relief. Having told somepony, she felt like a huge weight had been lifted from her shoulders.

“Oh, Pinkie Pie, that’s wonderful” she smiled to her friend. She had already assumed the day before that she liked Ink Spot, just like the rest of her friends. But it was nice that she knew for sure.

Pinkie jumps up and wraps her hooves around Fluttershy, squeezing her tightly. “Really! Oh thank you for being the best friend a pony could ask for!”

“No…..Problem” she grunted, gasping for air. “Umm, Pinkie, this……… Is a little….. Tight” Pinkie lets up her grip and releases Fluttershy. “Thank you” she gasped.

“Oops, sorry!” Pinkie giggled. “I guess I don’t know my own strength.”

“That’s okay” Fluttershy said as she felt her ribs, thinking she may have bruised one. “I’m fine.”

“Anyways, that explains why I’ve been acting so strange the other day” Pinkie said, jumping and falling on Fluttershy’s couch. “I think I’m in love” she gave out a sigh as she sank deeper into the couch, a goofy smile stretched across her face.

“In love?” asked Fluttershy, a look of concern on her face. “Pinkie I don’t know, I mean you’ve only known him for one day….” She began, but Pinkie just laid there, lost in her thoughts.

“Maybe someday we’ll get married, and a have fifty five…. No seventy five and a half kids…..” she sighed as she looked at her friend. “Fluttershy will you be my maid of honor?”

“Pinkie” Fluttershy said shyly, “You need to calm down. It’s great that you found someone, but you may want to give it a day or two before you start talking about marriage.”

“BUT OUR LOVE IS SO GREAT!!” she screamed dramatically, sitting up on the couch. “THE WHOLE WORLD MAY FORBID OUR LOVE. BUT WE, STAR STRUCK LOVERS WILL BEAT THE ODDS BECAUSE WE ARE DESTINED TO BE TOGETHER FOREVE-“

    WHACK!

A hoof strikes here across the face. “OUCHIE!”

“PINKIE” Fluttershy said as she was panting heavily.

Pinkie shook her head and blinked twice. “Wow, thanks Fluttershy, I sort of got carried away” she giggled as she looked at the clock on the wall. “OH NO! Look at the time! We’re gonna be late!” she grabbed Fluttershy as she dragged her through the door and towards the party.

Chapter 9: Right Place, Right Time

    A Very Special Somepony

Chapter 9: Right Place, Right Time

“So how do you suppose Pinkie did this all in one day?” asked Applejack to Twilight. It seemed that everypony in Ponyville was at Sugarcube Corner, and for good reason. While Pinkie says that every party she does will be the best one ever, she really meant it this time. The entire outside of Sugarcube Corner was decorated with streamers, balloons and banners. Pinkie seemed to have rented an entire carnival, as there was a Ferris Wheel, bouncing castle, bumper cars, and even a fully equipped stage were Vinyl Scratch was debuting her new tracks.

Twilight was at a loss of words, as her and Applejack began to walk towards the party. There was street performers dancing, and juggling and stalls handing out gifts to little ponies as they passed by. “I have no idea; I mean this is big, even for Pinkie” as said as they head inside of Sugarcube Corner.

If they thought that the outside was impressive, the inside blew their minds. Every single wall was just stuffed with different decoration. There was a clown handing out balloon animals, and there were ponies playing all sorts of party games. And then there was the food, and I mean there were literal mountains of it. All sorts of different colored cupcakes and pies, and punch, with plenty of fruits and hay for those with less of a sweet tooth.

Applejack entered the room. “Oh my horseapples” gasped Applejack as she took a look at the giant mountain of food. “How’d that pony make all this in one day?” she looked around and spotted Rainbow Dash chilling by the punch bowl, she waved them over.

“Hey looked who finally came” Rainbow gave them each a cup of punch. “Can you believe this party, it’s incredible!” she took a giant gulp of her own punch. “Everypony in Ponyville must be here!”

Twilight looked around. “It sure looks that way” then she spots a familiar pony. “Soulstice?”

The blue pony looked up from what he was doing and heads towards the three ponies. “Hello Twilight, Rainbow, and…..” he looks towards Applejack. “I don’t believe we’ve met before, the name is Soulstice” he reaches out his hoof.

“Applejack” she said as they shook hooves. “I run Sweet Apple Acres just on the outskirts of Ponyville.”

“Yeah, I remember passing by a ranch on the way into town. Do you run that whole place by yourself?” he asked.

“Shoot no” Applejack replied. “but your close. It’s me, old Granny Smith, my little sis Applebloom, and Big Macintosh. She peeps at the doorway. “Speaking of which, Over here Mac!”

All the ponies turn to look to see what she was talking about. Right at the door was Big Macintosh and his strange glowing friend, Gigawatt. The two just seemed to be unable to hear the cowpony calling for them. The two just walked around as Gigawatt started to flirt with some random mares.

“Who’s that weird pony beside Big Mac?” asked Twilight.

“And why is he glowing?” asked Rainbow, scratching her head in confusion.

Applejack rubbed the back of her head. “Oh yeah, y’all don’t know, that there is Gigawatt, he’s an old buddy of Big Mac, I think he said he was from Canterlot, or somethin” she looked at Gigawatt with the laughing mares, clearly they were getting along. There was something in her that didn’t like what she was seeing, the same feeling from last night as she watched him walk away with the mares.

“Are you okay?” asked Rainbow, catching her staring. “Hellooooo?” She looked at where she was looking and figured it out. “Applejack, do like him or something?”

That snapped her out it. “Wha? Of course not!” she said angrily. “I mean, me with some city pony, and I’ve got too much work to do to have a coltfriend!” there was a pause, she had said that last part a bit too loud and a couple of other ponies were looking at her, giving her blank stares before resuming what they were doing before.

Twilight approaches her. “Applejack, are you okay? She asks.

“I’m fine…I just need to some air is all.” Apple jack said as she started to head to an open window. She leaned up against it and just looked outside, getting lost in her thoughts.

Rainbow begins to talk. “What is with everypony today? First Pinkie is in love and now this!” she starts walking away. “I mean I expect this from Rarity, but no the rest of you.” She disappears into the crowd of ponies.

“Speaking of Rarity…” Twilight began. “Where is she anyways?”

Soulstice turned his head slightly. “Who’s Rarity?” he asked.

There are waves of gasps as almost everypony looks towards the door. Twilight exhales a light hearted sigh. “That’s Rarity” she pointed.

And there stood Rarity in the most beautiful gown that she had ever created, even better than the gown she wore for the Grand Galloping Gala. It was a flurry, golden, princess dress, with sashes of glittering gold and diamonds looping on the skirt of the dress. Wit hit she wore her special golden necklace of a heart ruby that Spike had given her not that long ago. And to top it off, she had a golden diamond tiara on her head.

Behind her is Spike in a little tuxedo. He stands behind Rarity, holding up the ends of her dress so it couldn’t get dirty, his eyes never leave Rarity’s flank.

“I think she may have overdressed a little” laughed Soulstice. “I mean, this ain’t a Gala.”

Twilight just rolled her eyes. “You still have a lot to learn about Ponyville” she smiled as they go to greet her.

“Twilight, darling!” she said as she slowly shuffled to them in her dress. It clearly was difficult to move in. “Oh my I am ever so sorry, you haven’t introduced me to this, handsome stallion” she said, batting her extended eyelashes at Soulstice.

“Soulstice, Miss Rarity” he said so properly. He picked up her hoof and gave it a gentle kiss. “And might I say that you look just ravishing today” shooting a smile at her.

Rarity gives a little giggle towards Twilight. “I like this one” she said before turning towards Soulstice. “Oh Soulstice, you are just a charm.”

“If by ‘charm’ you mean charming, then guilty” he gave a little laugh at the terrible joke.

Rarity though it was hysterical. “Oh, and he’s funny too, Twilight you got a keeper with this one.” She nudged Twilight a little. “Well I would love to chat but I have to share myself with the rest of the ponies. “Ta-ta” she waved goodbye as she shuffled towards some colts to show off her dress. Spike follows behind her.

Twilight looked at Soulstice it a confused smile on her face. “Okay, what was that about?”

“What was what” he said smugly back. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

“No seriously, what was that?” she asked as the two ponies walk away laughing as Twilight tries to figure out what Soulstice was doing with Rarity.

At the door, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy finally make it to the party. Pinkie begins to look feverishly around.

“Do you see him, do you see him, how is my hair?” Pinkie asks as she begins to panic. “Does this smell okay?” she reaches up her front hoof and sticks her armpit in Fluttershy’s face.

Fluttershy looks like she is about to hurl. “Oh, it’s smell…… Just fine” she said, removing her head to get rid of the smell being emitted from Pinkie Pie.

“Ooooooo, I’m just so nervous! Which is weird because I am never nervous. Usually when I’m nervous I just start singing a song that I make up at the top of my head, but my head has been full of other stuff, like, like……..” she gives out a dreamy moan. “Ink Spoooooot.”

Fluttershy tries to speak up. “Umm, Pinkie?” she asked. “If you don’t mind, I’m going to find Twilight.” The pink mare didn’t even seem to notice her talking, so Fluttershy just headed off in search of her friends.

“Did you say something Fluttershy?” Pinkie asked, still in her dream state. “No? Okay have fun….”

“Are all your parties this extreme?” A voice asked from behind her.

She begins to turn around. “They are when they’re thrown for the love of your-EEK” she squeaked.

It had been Ink Spot who had asked her. In her dream state, she was completely unaware that he had entered the party. There he stood, wearing (in her eyes) the most dashingly handsome tie in all of Ponyville. His father and little sister were standing right behind him as they all stared puzzlingly at the pink pony.

His little sister asked first. “Love of yer what?” she giggled.

Pinkie was speechless. “l-l-l-l-lo-lo-lo-“she stuttered, a face of horror striking across her face.

That’s when Rarity came over. “Well hello again Inky” she blushed at the still confused colt as she waddled over towards them, Spike not far behind. “It is so good to see you again.”

“Hey!” cried Clutter happily. “The pretty lady is back!” she jumped up to Rarity and gave her a big bear hug. She was still just as filthy as she was yesterday.

Rarity cried in horror. “OH GOOD CELESTIA! MY DRESS!”

Clean Sweeps apologizes for his daughter. “Oh dear. Sorry about that ma’am” he grabs Clutter and pulls her off Rarity. “Clutter what did I tell you about hugging?”

Clutter just looked at her father with her big puppy dog eyes. “I’m sorry daddy, I can’t help it sometimes” she pouted, increasing the intensity of her eyes.

Even a big stallion like Clean Sweep was powerless against those eyes. “Just apologize to Miss Rarity. WITHOUT HUGGING.” He was very clear with those last two words.

Clutter looked up at Rarity. “I’m sorry Miss Rare-e-tee” keeping her big apologetic eyes on her.

Rarity forced a smile. “Oh it’s alright dear.” She took a big gulped and continued “It’s just a dress.” She looked to the side. “A dress that had taken months to perfect” she muttered before turning to Spike. “Spikey, it’s time to go.”

“What already? But we just got here! Can’t we stay a bit longer” he begged.

“Now, now Spike” she reassured him. “You need to come back with me to help me change.” She gave the dragon a sultry look.

“Nice meeting you guys!” Spike said as he dragged Rarity out the door.

Ink Spot watched as Rarity waddled out of the store in her filthy dress. “Well that was interesting, so Pinkie you were saying.” He turned to look at Pinkie, she hasn’t moved an inch since she first froze up.

    “L-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-love y-y-you” she said nervously.

    “Come again?” Ink Spot asked.

“CUPCAKES!” she screamed. “I-I-I-I said cupcakes” she forced a smile as she began turning red.

“Okaaaaaay?” said Ink Spot. “Sure I like cupcakes.

This was her chance. “Oh y-y-you like cupcakes too, so do I” she said. “I made some really good ones over here” she led him to the snack table.

Ink Spot couldn’t believe his eyes. “You baked all of these?” he asked in amazement. “That’s incredible.”

Pinkie gasped with exhilaration. “Y-you, think I’m incredible?” she jumped on the pony. “Oh that is the sweetest thing that anypony has ever said to me!”

Ink Spot was a little shocked that Pinkie had embraced him so quickly, but he really didn’t mind, as he wrapped is front hooves slowly around her. In fact, she was actually pretty cute when you really think about it. Her warm, slender pink body, that puffy pink hair, and those big, big blue eyes. The very thought of her just made him want to-

“Oh no” said Ink Spot as looked down. He quickly crossed his back legs with embarrassment.

“What oh no?” Pinkie thought, her mind jumping to the worst possible conclusion. “Oh no, that hug was too much” she was tearing up as she ran towards the bathroom. “I’M SORRY!”

“Pinkie wait!” he screamed as he tried his best to follow her to the bathroom.

Somewhere else in the party, Twilight introduces Fluttershy to Soulstice.

“Oh it’s always so nice to meet a new pony” said Fluttershy.

Soulstice gave her a heartwarming smile. “Why thank you, and might I say that that is a beautiful hair piece you have there.”

Fluttershy giggled at the comment. “Oh, why thank you Soulstice. Umm Twilight, can I talk to you for a second……..In private.”

“Oh sure Fluttershy” she said. “Excuse us for a second.”

“Not a problem” he said. “I’ll go get something to eat” he said as he left.

“So Fluttershy, what’s up?” asked Twilight.

“Well…” Fluttershy began. “I just wanted to say that I’m happy for you and Soulstice, he seems like a very nice pony” she forced a smile and her voice got higher as she held back tears. “I just hope that someday I can be as happy as you and Soulstice are” she couldn’t hold back anymore, she grabbed Twilight by the neck and started crying on her shoulder. “I sorry Twilight, I’m just so lonely” she sniffled, tears rolling down her cheeks.

Twilight patted her distressed friend on her back. “Hey there, don’t be so upset.” She had to reassure her friend somehow. “Listen, Fluttershy. You are a smart, kind, caring, and beautiful pony. Anypony in all of Equestria would be lucky to be with you. And if they can’t see that about you then they don’t deserve you.” She pulled her friend from her shoulder and looked in her eyes. “And besides Fluttershy, me and Soulstice are just friends.”

Fluttershy wipes a few stray tears from her face as she starts to calm down. “Oh that’s nice of you to say, but it’s not like the pony of my life will just walk through the door.”

    ***

“Krispy! You finally made it!” Stray Cloud called as a stocky light orange pony entered the room. He was a little beefy around the middle, but strong. His dirty blonde mane and seemed well kept, and he had blue eyes that made you think of oceans. His tail was a bit longer than normal and beside his flank were three strips of haybacon.

“Hey Cloud, what’s up?” Krispy asked his friend.

“Not much, you know…..just being ninja” he said as he stuck his flank in Krispy’s face, showing off his four-bladed shuriken cutie mark.

Krispy tried to avoid his friend’s flank being pushed in his face. “That’s great; get your flank out of my face.” Stray Cloud did as he was told. “So anyhooves, what happened to you last night? You sort of just..... disappeared.”

“Yeah I got uhhhhhhh” Stray Cloud tried to think of something. “I was doing…..undercover ninja work!” he said smugly. “I got a call from the great-“

“I saw you last night racing Rainbow Dash” Krispy stated bluntly.

    “What?”

“When you were racing” he began, “I saw you zoom by with her as I was closing up my shop. So what’s up with that?”

Stray Cloud was beginning to blush. “We just had a little race, that’s all. What, you think I like some stupid tomboy pony?”

Krispy gave him a sly look. “Well she is cute. Anyhooves you deal with that, I’m getting a drink.” He said as he headed towards the punch bowl.

As he left his friend to think about how stupid it was to like mares, he started looking around. He never really thought too much about having a special somepony for Hearts and Hooves Day. He looked around, there were plenty of decent mares at this party, and maybe he would bump into one here.

    BUMP

As he was lost in his thoughts he didn’t see this one pony to his side. He turned around to apologize.

“Oh I’m sorry, I didn’t see you there.” They both said. He looked at the other pony he had just bumped.

It was a mare about his age. She had this small slim yellow body and a long pink beautiful mane. Taking a look to her side, Krispy saw the three butterflies on her flank. She looked up and stared at him with her perfect blue, sparkling eyes.

He had just bumped into the mare he wanted to be with for the rest of his life. He had just bumped into Fluttershy.

Chapter 10: A Chance Meeting, and a Heart Beating

    A Very Special Sompony

Chapter 10: A Chance Meeting, And a Heart Beating

    ****A few minutes earlier****

Fluttershy wipes a few stray tears from her face as she starts to calm down. “Oh that’s nice of you to say, but it’s not like the pony of my life will just walk through the door.”

“Now Fluttershy, don’t be like that.” Twilight tried her best to calm her friend down. Out of all the things she knew, dealing with a ponies love problem was something she had NO experience in. All she could do was just let her cry it all out.

Fluttershy wiped the last of her tears off her face. “I……. I think I need something to drink, excuse me Twilight” she quietly walked away from her friends.

She didn’t know what to think, she had always wanted a very special somepony, especially on Hearts and Hooves day, but she had always been too shy and timid to ask, and no colt would ever ask her because she was so distant with most ponies. Oh how she wished that just for once she could be able to talk to somepony of the opposite gender without losing her voice or running away.

    BUMP

“Oh I’m sorry, I didn’t see you there.” They both said. She looked at the other pony she had just bumped.

“It was a colt about her age. He had this large and stocky orange body and short well-kept dirty blonde hair. Taking a quick peak at his flank, she saw the three strips of haybacon cutie mark. He looked up and stared at her with his glimmering, beautiful blue eyes.

She had just bumped into the one. The only other pony she would ever truly love. She had just bumped into Krispy.

****And now back to the present…. ****

“Are you okay?” Krispy asked the pony. He looked at the shivering little yellow mare. Was she nervous? It was hard for him to believe that such a beautiful creature could ever have any sort of confidence issues. He tried again. “Hi, I’m Krispy” he lifted up a friendly hoof for her.

Fluttershy tried to say something. “H-H-H-H……mmmmmm” she squeaked. Her heart was racing as she tried and failed to produce anything more than a squeak. “I-I-I-I-I’mmmmmmmm” she stuttered.

A look of concern grew on Krispy’s face. “Are you okay?” he asked, he then got an idea. “Hey would you like some punch?”

“He’s offering me punch” thought Fluttershy.“Oooo Fluttershy, don’t ruin this, you want this to work. Remember, be confident.” She gave a nervous, crooked smile and slowly nodded.

“Okay this is good, this is good” he turned around to the punch bowl to pour her a glass of punch.

Fluttershy couldn’t help but take a look at his finely tuned flank while he was turned around. “Oh, my” she whispered as she admired his behind. She quickly averted her eyes back to normal as he turned around.

“Here you go” he said as he hands her the punch. She does her best to balance it with her hoof, but she ultimately loses her grip and drops it. “Oops, sorry” Krispy quickly apologizes.

Fluttershy’s entire body began to shake nervously as she begins to tear up again. “Oh no” she sniffles. “I’m so sorry!” she cries as she runs away from the mess. However in her haste, she did not notice her hair clip falling out of her hair.

Krispy picked it up from the ground and looked up. “Wait!” he said, though it was hard to talk; he had to use his mouth to pick up the hairclip. But it was no use, she was long gone. He felt like a complete idiot, he had just scared off the mare of his life, and he didn’t even get her name! “Stupid, stupid, stupid!” he muttered as he tucked the hair pin in his tail for safe keepings.

He tried to find the scared mare, but he was soon blocked by a rainbow maned pegasus.

“Hey! What’s your problem pal?” Rainbow demanded. “What did you do to Fluttershy!?”

“I didn’t do anything to anypony” he told her. “I was just getting her a glass of punch, and then she dropped it and now she ran away.” He was speaking as calmly as possible to the enraged pony. “You’ve got to believe me.”

Rainbow dash just stared at the orange pony, trying to see if he was lying. After a few moments that felt like decades she finally spoke. “Fluttershy does get scared pretty easily” she finally sighed.

A look of relief rushed on Krispy’s face, happy that the pegesus had believed him.

“But know this” her voice had turned very serious. “I’m watching you…. Even when you think it’s safe, I’m always watching you” she began to fly away backwards, never breaking eye contact. “Watching you……..”

In the Mares bathroom of Sugarcube Corner, a pink pony was sitting hunched in the corner balling her eyes out.

“WHY DOES EVERYTHING I LOVE HATE MEEEEEEEEEE!” Screamed the over-dramatic Pinkie into her hooves. Two streams of tears pouring like waterfalls from her eyes. “IT’S NOT FAIRRRRRRRR!!!!”

Just there is a knock on the door. “Pinkie Pie?” are you in there?” asked a familiar voice.

“LEAVE ME ALONE TWILIGHT!” she cried. “AND LET ME BE IN HERE WITH MY SHAAAAAAME!”

Twilight sighed on the other side of the door. “Pinkie come on, your acting ridiculous.” She thought to herself before speaking again. “Your acting worse than Rarity did when-“

“RARITY!!” scowled Pinkie, the very mention of her name filled her with rage. “THAT OVER-DRAMATIC, SELF CENTERED, STUCK UP, DAUGHTER OF A MULE!”

“Pinkie Pie!” Twilight shouted, shocked at the things the party pony was saying. “How can you even think of such awful things? Rarity is your friend” she slowly entered the bathroom to find a wreck of a Pinkie Pie.

She began to tear up again. “Oh I know, I’m being such a meanie-bo-heamie, b-b-but it just that she seemed to like Ink Spot so much! A-a-and I like him so much! A-a-a-and I wish she didn’t like him so much! A-a-a-and I just love him sooooooooooooooo much!” she lifted her face up from her hooves. Her usually pink face was beet red, her perky cheeks were stained with salty tears, her normally joyful eyes, watery and broken. Even her puffy mane and tail seemed to have deflated. She turned to ask her friend a question. “Twilight, do you believe in love at first sight?”

“It depends on the pony” Twilight responded.

Pinkie let out a little sniffle. “Well Ink Spot was the one” she moped.

Twilight sat on the ground beside the distressed pony. She patted her on the back and smiled. “You really do love him, don’t you?” she asked.

“Twilight, you have no idea” she said before looking to the ground with her sad expression. “But I guess it’s too late now.”

Twilight had had enough of this. “Pinkie” she spoke with a strong, and demanding voice. “It’ never too late, it’s like I told Fluttershy, you are an amazing, talented, and unique pony, you just have to make him see it.” she turned her friend’s head towards her. She was getting good at these little pep talks. “So tell me Pinkie, are you gonna just sit here and let him slip away?” she looked to her friend, her tears were beginning to dry off.

    “No” Pinkie whimpered.

    “What was that?” Twilight demanded.

“No” she said a little louder.

    “What was that!”

    “No!”

    “WHAT WAS THAT”

“NO!” screamed Pinkie Pie, and just like that, she was back. Her face seemed to magically clean itself, her mane and tail puffed back to their normal state, and her blue eyes burned with a new sense of determination. “Thank you Twilight you’re a real good friend” she began to head out before turning around. “Twilight, those things I said about Rarity….”

“Already forgotten” the purple unicorn assured her friend.

“You forgot? How did you forget that already?” she asked. She then realized “OOOOOOOO I get it” she gave a little laugh and a wink before heading out the door.

Pinkie knew exactly what she needed to do. She scanned the party room for her special pony, finally spotting him next to the muffins table, talking to Derpy. Quickly, she began her decent towards him.

Ink Spot spotted her walking towards her. “Hey Pinkie, sorry about earlier, I was just-“

“Shhhhh” she hushed the cleaning pony. “Don’t speak, now’s not the time for speaking.”

Confused, Ink Spot responded. “What do you-“he began, but his words were muffled by the Pinkie’s hoof.

Pinkie put a hoof on each side of his face, staring lusciously into his yellow eyes. “You have a pretty mouth.” She said before diving in for a kiss.

    Chapter 11: So Much More

    A Very Special Somepony

    Chapter 11: So Much More

Soulstice looked bewildered, as did everypony else in the party room. He turned to Twilight. “What on earth did you tell her do?”

“Not this” replied Twilight, just as stunned as the rest of the ponies were. “Definitely not this.”

Pinkie pushed her lips against Ink Spot’s, giving him a long and passionate kiss, normally she would work her way in, but she did catch him with his mouth open, and she planned to take full advantage of it as she slipped her tongue to the edge of his mouth. He didn’t seem to resist.“This is good” she thought. “Time to take it up a notch” she stuck her tongue deeper into his mouth and started to wrap it around his.

By pure instinct, he pulled her closer to him, returning the favor. The taste of her lips like candy, and her tongue like sugar. It was the sweetest thing he had ever tasted in all his life, and he never wanted it to end, which was a shame when Pinkie finally parted from him.

Pinkie looked at him with her sweet bedroom eyes. “So what do you think?” she asked in a seductive voice, a cute little smirk forming on her face, she knew the answer before he did.

Ink Spot was speechless, he wanted to say tell her that that was the most incredible thing he ever experienced, but he was at a loss of words.

“Oh no!” Pinkie began to fear. “You didn’t like it didn’t like, it was too much. I’m sorry!” she started to tear up as she turned to leave, head down low and defeated.

Ink Spot was not letting her get away this time. “Wait” he said, placing a hoof on her back. “Before you leave-. “

“You want to tell me that this party was a complete disaster and that you hate me and never ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER want to see me again.” She sighed, still looking at the ground. “I was just trying so hard to make this party super special, not that I don’t try to make every party super special, it’s just that this one was reeeeeeally important to me, I wanted you to like it reeeeeeally bad, but I guess you hated it and now you hate me and will try to avoid me and it’ll be reeeeeeally awkward cause we live in the same town. I’m just so sorry.”

“Pinkie…” he smiled. “That is the LAST thing I would ever tell you” the pink mare looked up, a bit confused.

“Wait a second” she began, think over everything she had just said and reversing it. “That means that the party WASN”T a complete disaster, and that you DON’T hate me, and you DO want to see me ever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever again. This party WAS super special, and you DID like it, and we WON’T be awkward?” she double checked her thoughts to make sure she didn’t miss something. “So you did like that kiss?”

“Of course I did, what pony wouldn’t want to be kissed by such a cute mare?” Ink Spot said, causing both ponies to blush.

“You think I’m cute?” Pinkie’s eyes sparkling with hope as he finally said that.

    “Buck yeah I do.”

Pinkie exploded, she skyrocketed in flight, from that afternoon delight she just had, she started to bounce on every surface as she screamed with glee, and nothing could bring her down, not after this.

After a few minutes of watching the newly energetic pony bounce around she finally spoke. “Sooooo, would you want to go out sometime?” he asked nervously.

Pinkie stopped dead in her tracks. “What was that?”

“I mean if you got nothing better to do” Ink Spot smiling anxiously, trying to loosen his tie so he could breathe.

Pinkie approached him, looing deeply in his eyes, no emotion on her face. “Did you just ask me out?” she asked the frightened cleaning pony.

    “Y-Yes” he replied.

She pinned him to the wall. “On a date?”

Ink Spot slowly nodded. Afraid of how she would respond.

“OHYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYEYSYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES!” she exploded. “A MILLION TIMES YES!”

Ink Spot gave a breath of relief. He got up from the wall and went back down to all four hooves. “Really that’s great! So I’ll pick you up at noonish tomorrow?” he asked.

She leapt up to him, giving him a hot look and smile. “I’ll be waiting….Inky” she nuzzled him before releasing him and watching exit the party. When she couldn’t see him anymore she let out a loving breath. “I have a coltfriend” she spoke dreamily.

“We can see that” a voice said bluntly.

“Whaaa?” questioned Pinkie, snapping back to normal to see all of her friends staring at her. “You guys! I have great news! I have a-“

“A coltfriend.” Twilight said. The look of shock still imprinted on her face.

“Really? How did you know……..OOO Twilight you learned that mind reading spell didn’t you?” Pinkie asked. excitedly. “Okay, now what am I thinking about?”

“We heard you, Pinkie. In fact we heard and saw everything” Twilight stated. “Everypony did.”

“EEEEERRRRGG! Wrong! I was thinking of pies eating elephants! Or was it elephants eating pies? I don’t know, I’m not a mind reader!” Pinkie said bubbly.

Soulstice looked towards Twilight. “Is she always this nuts?” he asked.

“Don’t worry, it’s just Pinkie Pie being Pinkie Pie” she said cheerfully. “You get used to it after a while.”

“I reckon that colt better get used to it soon” said Applejack. “Poor guy doesn’t know what he’s getting in to.”

“You know, AJ, she’s right there” reminded Twilight.

Rainbow let out a snort. “Yeah but she’s still miles away from here” pointing the pink pony.

“Or maybe I was thinking of a group of elephants that were pies? Or maybe they were a group of pies that were elephants?” Pinkie dropped to her flank, lost in the confusion of her thought.

“I see. Well I think that it’s great that she found someone” said Twilight. “Anything that makes her happy makes me happy.”

“Whatever!” shrugged Rainbow. “Who cares about having some dumb coltfriend anyways? Having somepony always on your case making ga-ga faces and calling each other stupid names. We don’t need that, right Applejack?” she turned to the cowpony in wait of a response.

“Wha- oh yeah, sure…..who needs one” she said, she couldn’t help but notice Gigawatt on the other side of the room, talking to the same mares as he was before. The glowing pony looked up and saw her staring, he gave her a look. Or at least she thought he did, it‘s hard to tell with those dark glasses he’s always wearing.

“You see, AJ agrees with me” said Rainbow.

“Yeah….look I gotta go,” said Applejack. “See you later everypony” she said before quickly rushing off.

“What’s wrong with her?” asked Rainbow. “She’s been acting weird, like Pinkie weird.”

They all looked at Pinkie, still trying to figure out what she was thinking about.

“Well either way, I think she’s right” said Twilight. “It’s getting kinda late, and Soulstice and I have a lot of work to do.”

Soulstice looked at Twilight, rolling his eyes and nodding. “Whatever you say boss.”

The two head out together, saying their goodbyes to the other ponies. Leaving Rainbow and Pinkie Pie alone.

“Well Pinkie” said Rainbow. “It looks like it’s just us.”

“OOOOO I remember what I was thinking! It was a WALRUS eating a CAKE, not an elephant eating a pie. That’s so silly!” Pinkie said cheerfully. "Why would a elephant eat a pie? Everypony knows they like cookies!"

Rainbow just rolled her eyes. “Yeeeeeeeaaaaaaahhh, I’m going to leave…..” she said, slowly leaving the silly pink pony to herself.

    Chapter 12: CMC Matchmaker

    A Very Special Somepony

    Chapter 12: CMC Matchmakers!

Through the vast fields of apple trees and hidden from the rest of the world lies a small clubhouse, but not just any clubhouse. It was the club house of the CMC, the Cutie Mark Crusaders!

Young Applebloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetie Belle were sitting in their clubhouse, surrounded by mountains of papers, glue, glitter and other assortments of craft supplies. Each filly was cutting shapes into pieces of red construction paper, making designs of hearts.

“These here cards are gonna be the best hearts and hooves day cards ever!” Applebloom said as she squirted an entire bottle of glue on a violet heart shaped card. “Hey which one of you ponies have the glitter?”

Scootaloo threw her a container of glitter. “Here you go Bloom, hey what do you think of this?” she grabbed a large sheet of paper in her mouth and lifted it up to show her friends. It was a large white piece of paper with a crudely drawn picture of a smiling, sky blue pegasus with scribbles of colors representing the pegesi mane and tail. Behind it was a large, deep red heart, and above the heart it said ‘You make everyday’ and at the bottom of the heart it said ‘20% cooler’. “Guess who this is for?” she grunted, difficult to talk with paper in her mouth.

Sweetie Belle half-closed her eyes. “I have absolutely no idea” she said sarcastically. “But I thought Rainbow didn’t like Hearts and Hooves day?”

“What?” asked Scootaloo, spitting the giant poster out. “Everypony likes hearts and hooves day!”

“Really” said Sweetie Belle said smugly. “Then how come she doesn’t have a coltfriend?”

“She’s just waiting to for somepony that’s as awesome as she is!” responded Scootaloo. “And she just too awesome for anypony at the moment!

“Yeah, either that or no buck in his right mind would want anything to do with her!” barked Sweetie Belle, getting louder every second.

“Hey any buck would be lucky to have such an awesome mare like Rainbow!” screamed Scootaloo.

Applebloom jumped up and screamed “Listen to you ponies!” all eyes fell on the yellow little filly. “You two are argue’n ‘bout somethin’ that ain’t worth the argue’n!”

The small unicorn and the little pegasus stopped arguing to look at the disgruntled earth pony. Applebloom was breathing heavily over the two.

“Besides you two, we got much more important things ta be doing” she walked over to a giant sheet of pink paper rolled up in the corner. “We got to get this here Hearts and Hooves Day card for Cheerilee ready!” she knocked over the roll of paper onto the floor and started to spread it out.

“Your right Bloom” said Sweetie apologetically. “We shouldn’t be arguing about something so silly.” She looked to Scootaloo. “Sorry I said those things about Rainbow Scoot.”

“Yeah whatever, it’s okay” replied Scootaloo. She gave the unicorn a forgiving smile. Sweetie responded by giving the orange pegasus a big bear hug.

“Alright you too, if yer all done, we got ourselves a card to make!” said Apple Bloom.

    “Yeah!’ screamed Scootaloo.

“Let’s Do it!” screamed Sweetie Belle.

“CUTIE MARK CRUSADER CARD MAKERS!!!” they all said in unison as they began to frantically work on their teacher’s card.

Meanwhile, just outside the CMC’s clubhouse a certain glowing green pony was making his way back to the farm. Gigawatt was unaware, however, of the orange mare secretly following him.

Applejack hid behind an apple tree as she spied on Gigawatt. “What am I doing?” she whispered to herself. “Here I am followin somepony I barely even know.” She peeked out from behind her tree, glancing at the glowing pony. Why was she so obsessed with him? He was just so different than everypony, and yet that seemed to be the thing she found most interesting about him. she realized she was staring at his flank again. “Dang it Applejack! Come on girl, get your head on straight!” she said shaking her head. What would it take to get him out of her head? Should she confront him about these feelings?

“Applejack?” a static voice called out. Gigawatt had turned around and was looking straight at her.

“Oh horse apples!” she muttered. She quickly jumped behind her tree, hoping that he didn’t see her.

“Applejack?” the voice was getting closer. Applejack prayed that he was talking about another Applejack. It was a common name, right?

    “Hey Applejack, what’s up?”

“Oh, hey…” she laughed nervously. He was staring right at her, with those thick sunglasses. She never could get a good look at those eyes.

“Were you following me?” he ask, staring in to Applejack’s eyes, or at least, she thought he was.

“Wha……. Umm, shoot no” her face began to redden as she started to get flustered. “I was just……. picking……. Apples” she gave a guilty smile.

    “Apples?” he asked.

“Umm yeah Apples!” she quickly searched for a tree with apples in it. “You know, Apple bucking. That’s what we do here at Sweet Apples!” she quickly bucked a nearby tree, apples raining down on the two ponies. “There now I just gotta grab them and…” she picked up one in her mouth, and then another. But when she tried to grab a third, she was unable to cram it in her mouth. “Shoot” she grunted.

Gigawatt smiled at the mare as she tried to stick an apple in her mouth, thinking of other things he could stick in there. “Need some help?” he asked playfully.

“No” she grunted, almost getting another apple in her jaw, only to slip out at the last minute.

Gigawatt couldn’t help it any more. “Here, let me help you” he said. Before Applejack could react, Gigawatt had opened his mouth and took a bite of the apple in her mouth.

Applejack couldn’t believe what was happening. She had never been this close to another colt’s mouth before. Her jaw instinctually pushing forward, his jaws doing the same. The taste of apples in her mouth was overpowering, but she wanted to taste him. Wait, why was she thinking these things? Her heart raced as she heard the sound of an apple cracking. Slowly, the apple was ripped from her mouth, leaving just a small chunk in her teeth. She watched as Gigawatt slowly devoured the apple. Eating all but the core.

“Delicious” he said, licking the last bit of apples on his lips. He took a look at Applejack. Her face was completely red like the skin of an apple. She just kept staring at him with these big school girl eyes. “So, do want to walk the rest of the way back with me, or would you rather stay back and stalk me?”

Applejack let the reaming apple fall out of her mouth. She just strolled up next to the glowing pony. “I wasn’t stalking you” she grinned playfully. “I was just walking behind y’all is all.”

“Sure you were” the green pony said sarcastically, as they both began walking towards the ranch.

They were completely unaware that three snoopy fillies had seen the whole ordeal, each with a look of confusion or disbelief on their face. Scootaloo broke the silence.

“What and who was that?” she asked.

“Oh, that was just Gigawatt” said Applebloom. “He’s a friend of my brother.”

Quickly, a smile grew on Sweetie Belle. “OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO” she cooed. “Is he Applejack’s coltfriend?”

“What, shoot no” frowned Applebloom. “He’s just visiting. Besides, my sis don’t believe in Hearts and Hooves day love and stuff.”

“Well that’s not what I saw” said Scootaloo mockingly. “They sure look like they like each other.”

Sweetie then got an idea, a brilliant, brilliant idea. “Maybe all they need is a push in the right direction” she said wickedly.

“What are you saying Sweetie Belle?” asked Applebloom.

“All I’m saying is that those two clearly like each other, and your sister can’t seem to grasp it. So all I’m saying is that we help…… Get things started.”

“Wait, a second” began Scootaloo. “Don’t you remember what happened last time we tried to make two ponies fall in love?” flashbacks of Big Mac and Cheeiliee making their kissy faces and lovey names still haunted them to this day.

“Trust me” Sweetie shuddered. “We won’t do anything like that again.”

“I don’t know girls” said Applebloom nervously. “My sis said she didn’t want me meddling in her love life.”

The two other ponies shared a look of disbelief before the yellow earth pony cracked a smile.

“Then again, I never listen to my sister!” she laughed. “Come on girls let’s do it!”

The three ponies jumped up in a circle and places their hooves in the middle. In unison, they all screamed as loud as they could….

    “CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS: PONY MATCHMAKERS!!”

    Chapter 13: Pain is Beauty

    A Very Special Somepony

    Chapter 13: Pain is Beauty

“Rarity? Are you okay in there?” asked Spike from outside the bathroom of The Carousel Boutique.

“Simply heavenly, dear” she sighed as the water of Rarity’s shower washed away the dirt, and with it her sorrows. The white mare had been in the shower for what seemed like an eternity. She did, after all had to wash up after that unfortunate incident with Clutter. As the final specks of dust fell, she finally felt clean again. “Now, time for some shampoo” she magically lifted a purple bottle towards her. She popped the lid and poured the light pink substance of the bottle onto her hair. As the shampoo began to works its magic, rarity started humming.

Spike crossed his arms and slid to the ground with a thud. “This isn’t what I had in mind when you said you needed help changing!” he yelled through the door.

“Well now Spike, if you want to help me change, could you be a dear and grab me the black dress from my wardrobe?” she called back.

Spike shot straight back up. “Sure thing Rarity!” he called out. “Any excuse to go through your things…..”

“Ahhhh” sighed Rarity as she let the soothing water pour over her body. “Hmm, dee, doo, dee, mee, hmm, dee, doo, mee” she sang softly.

“La, la, la LAAAAA!” a voice sang behind her.

Rarity’s face froze as she slowly turned around to see a pair of giant blue eyes, just staring at her.

    “Whatcha singing?” asked Pinkie Pie.

“PINKIE PIE?!” screamed Rarity. She backs away from the pony in her shower, only to slip on a stray bar of soap. She fell into her shower curtains, falling in a tangled mess of the floor. “What are you doing in my bathroom!?”

“Umm, showering? Duh” she said, thinking that it was an obvious question. “You left that window open, so I just hopped in and started singing!” she pointed to the open window, and by ‘open’ she meant the giant shattered hole in the window where Pinkie jumped through. How Rarity didn’t hear it, she had no idea. “But I’m here for something super important to ask you and you’re the only pony that can help me so can you help me? Can ya? Can ya? Can ya?”

“Help you with what?” asked Rarity as she untangled herself from the web of bath curtains.

“I need you…….” She paused as she took a deep breath. “To make me the super greatest astronomically terrific awesome fantastic radiantly glowing mega ultra monster prettiest most beautiful dress that you have ever made in your entire life!”
Pinkie’s head was turning blue by the end of that sentence.

Rarity lit up, but was confused. “Why of course dear, I would love to. But a question, why such a marvelous dress? If you don’t mind me prying.”

“Oh that’s right!” remembering that Rarity had left early to clean up. “You weren’t there! Well…” she was nervous to tell her, maybe it wasn’t a good idea to come here.

“Well?” asked Rarity. “Don’t keep me in distress.”

Finally, after much pause, Pinkie couldn’t keep in any longer. “Ink Spot asked me out ad I want a pretty dress and you’re the only pony that I know that can make dresses!” it felt good to get that all out.

Rarity immediately jumped onto Pinkie, not to attack her, but to hug her. “Oh Pinkie Pie! That is just, just divine!” she pulled herself away. “It would be my pleasure to make you a dress!”

“Really? I mean Really!” she asked. “You mean you’re not mad?”

Rarity was shocked. “Mad? Why in Celestia’s name would I be mad at you Pinkie?”

That’s when Pinkie realized. “So you don’t like Ink Spot?”

“Ink Spot? The cleaning pony?” she paused. “Of course not! I mean he does seem like quite the nice gentlecolt, but he’s just not... how can I put this…… not my type.”

“Oh, well thank you!” smiled Pinkie. “So if you can have the dress ready by tomorrow that’d be great! Ok bye!” she called as she hopped back out the broken window.

“What?” whispered Rarity to herself, did she hear her correctly, she wanted the dress by TOMORROW? “Pinkie!” she called out. “You want it by when?”

“Can’t here you! LALALALALALALALALALALALALA!” she sang as she bounced away from Rarity’s shop.

Rarity slowly slid to the floor. “How am I supposed to make a dress in less than a day?”

There was another knock at the door. “Rarity? Are you okay in there?” Spike asked from the other side of the door.

“Oh dear!” she thought. She had completely forgotten about spike waiting for her. “I’ll be out in a sec!” She quickly dried and combed her hair before opening the door.

Outside stood Spike. “What took you so long?” he asked.

Rarity just skipped idly by, ignoring him. “Now Spike, you know how important it is for a lady to get properly clean and pampered.”

The dragon sighed. She did look extra beautiful, having just come out of the shower. There were still stray drips of steamy water rolling down her toned flank. “Your right Rarity” he sighed. “You’re always right.”

The white unicorn turned red. “Aww, so sweet of you to say that, my little spiky wiky!” she said pinching his cheek. “If you think that then maybe you could do me a little favor for me?”

“Of course Rarity!” he said excitedly. “Anything for you.”

“Thank you Spike” she said, heading down to her work area, Fabrics and mannequins were spread across the room’s floor, and design sketches hung from the walls. “I need you Spike to fetch me some extra gems for my dresses. Pinkie has placed an order for a new dress by tomorrow! And if I can’t get any gems, it will be the WORST. THING. EVER!” she said, collapsing on her magically pulled couch.

“Sure thing Rarity!” he said as he ran to the door. “I’ll be back before you can say Hearts and Hooves Day!” and with that the dragon was off.

Rarity was alone in her studio at last. “Now I can finally get some work done” she said as she levitated a pair of scissors and a roll of fabric.

“Hey Rarity!” a high, bubbly voice said behind her.

Rarity jumped so high that her horn got stuck in the ceiling, bringing a chunk down with her as she fell the ground. “Owww! Pinkie, what are you doing here?”

The pink pony was staring at Rarity, a big catty grin on her face. “Oh I was just wondering if that dress was ready yet?”
“Pinkie…” Rarity said as she let out a deep breath. “It’s only been a few minutes, dear. I haven’t even been able to start yet.”

“Oh Okie-doki-loki!” she sang. “I’ll check back later!” she just stood there staring at Rarity.

“Oooookay?” said Rarity, removing the piece of drywall off her horn and returning to work. She re-levitated the scissors and started to cut into the fabric.

“Are you done nooooooooow?” Pinkie asked.

Rarity let out a uugh as she forced a strained smile for Pinkie. “Pinkie, dear. I am going to need the whole day to work. I’ll stop by tomorrow and drop it of personally.”

Pinkie stood there, thinking. “Hmmmmmmmm, okay!” she said as she hopped out the door. “See you tomorrow!”

“Finally” she groaned. She could finally get some work done. She started to cut out a piece of pink fabric when she heard the door open. “Pinkie I already told you I need more time!” she screamed as she turned around.

“More time for what?” asked Sweetie Belle.

“Oh, Sweetie!” she laughed nervously. “I thought for a second you were Pinkie.”

“Whatever. I just need to grab some things, then I’m off again.” Sweetie said as she walked to a trunk labeled ‘Sweetie Belle’ on it. She opened it and began to throw a bunch of random things into a saddle bag. “Why did you think that I was Pinkie?” she asked.

“Oh, she was here earlier asking if I could make her a dress for tomorrow.” She told her sister.

“Why would she need a dress? Does she have a special somepony?” she asked excitedly.

“Something like that…” Rarity said. “She met a nice young steed and wants to make a good impression” she cut another line in the fabric. “She seems really excited about this, more excited than I’ve ever seen her before.”

“Okay” Sweetie said as she loaded the last item in her bag. “If you need me I’ll be at Appleblooms.”

“Don’t be too late!” Rarity called as Sweetie ran out the door. “Well maybe I could finally get some work done.” She began to cut deeper into the fabric. As she was cutting, she began to think. She didn’t have any special somepony this year, something that had never happened before. And with Pinkie with Ink Spot, she couldn’t help but feel a little sorry for herself. “Oh if only I could find my Prince Charming! But alas, I seemed to be cursed to forever walk this earth with no pony to be my own. OH WOE IS ME, OF ALL THE WORST POSSIBLE THINGS THAT COULD HAPPEN, THIS IS THE WORST. POSSIBLE. THING!” she cried as she leaped into her couch, crying. “Why is it that fate looks down on me as I wallow in my pity. WHY CELESTIA! WHY?”

There was a knock on the door. She jumped up from the couch as sparkling tears roll down her face. “Is that you, my prince? Have you heard my calls and come to whisk me away from all my sadness and sorrows? Oh in the name of Celestia! Whisk me away from this world to one with only us my prince!” she got up and swayed to the door.

“Welcome my Prince!” she cheered as she opened the door. But as she expected a prince, she instead got a dragon.

“Hey Rarity, I got the gems you wanted!” the dragon said, handing an assortment of different colored gems to her.

“Oh Spike, it’s you” she wiped the last of her tears away from her eyes. “I’m terribly sorry for my current condition, I just need to be alone for a bit” she took the gems. “Thank you for the gems Spike.”

“Rarity, actually I have something to ask you….” The dragon said nervously. “I was wondering……” his voice trailed off.

“Could you speak up dear” Rarity asked. “I couldn’t catch that last part.”

“I was wondering…….” Spike’s voice trailed off again.

“Spike” Rarity began. “I really have a lot of work to do.”

The little dragon tried his best to respond, but he was unable to find his voice.

Rarity exhaled a breath. “I’m sorry Spike, but I really have work to attend to. Goodbye” she said, slamming the door behind her.

“RARITY I REALLY LIKE YOU AND WAS WONDERING IF YOU WOULD WANT TO GO OUT SOMETHIME BUT IF NOT THAT’S COOL OKAY SEE YOU TOMORROW BYE!” he blurted out. “THERE I SAID IT!” in a fit, the small dragon ran home.

Rarity opened the door, a confused look on her face. “Spike? Did you say something?” she looked around and when she didn’t see him, she simply shrugged and closed the door so she could finish her work.

It was a long walk back to the library for the dragon.

    *****

Back at the library, Twilight and Soulstice were delving deep in their studies. When Twilight comes across a strange book.
“Hey Soulstice! Check this out” she called.

“What is it?” he asked, looking over her shoulder.

“It’s another myth about the Red Heart Moon.”

    “Really, what does it say?”

Twilight flipped the page. “It saids here that the reason for the Red Heart moon was a very special pony called Desire, who every year enchanted the moon under the order of the Princess, and when he disappeared, so did the Red Heart Moon.”

“Why did he disappear?” asked Soulstice.

“I don’t know.” She looked frantically into the pages. “It doesn’t say. I don’t think anypony knows.”

Just then the door swung open. A depressed looking Spike walked in.

“Hey Spike” the two said. The dragon just grumbled as he walked upstairs.

Soulstice looked at Twilight. “What’s up with him?”

“Oh he’s had a crush on Rarity, and he was going to proclaim that love today.” She glanced up to the dragon. “Judging by his attitude, things didn’t go so well.”

“I couldn’t even ask her!” the dragon screamed from up the stairs.

“Okay, okay!” said Twilight. “I think the Red Heart Moon Has everypony going love crazy.”

    Soulstice sighed. “Yeah, absolutely crazy.”

    Chapter 14: He's Simply Glowing

    A Very Special Somepony

    Chapter 14: He’s Simply Glowing

“Alright everypony!” Applebloom was pacing back and forth, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle standing at attention. “It is our solemn duty as meddling little sisters to make sure that my big sis, Applejack and my Brother’s friend, Gigawatt, go on the romantic date that we have planned them. Now are we all clear on the plan?”

Scootaloo raised her hoof in salute. “Sir Yes Sir! I am to grab your sister away from her work! A task that is of the up most importance!”

    “Correct! And Sweetie Belle….”

“I am to have finished making the picnic arrangement before the two ponies reach the objective point sir!”

“Correct!” Applebloom said. “While you two are doing that, I will be retrieving the apple!”

    “The what?” asked Sweetie.

“The Apple.” Applebloom repeated. “You know, Gigawatt.”

“Then why not just call him Gigawatt?” asked Scootaloo.

“It’s a code name! ya’know, like what the spy ponies use!”

“Can we have nick names?” asked Scootaloo excitedly. “I wanna be Soaring Eagle!”

    “You can’t have code n-“

“I want to be Snake!” screamed Sweetie Belle.

    “Y’all can’t be sn-“

“Snake? Snake. SNNNNAAAAAAKKKKKKEEEEEEE!” yelled Scootaloo playfully.

“No pony gets a codename!” scowled Applebloom. “Forget the code names!”

“You started it.” reminded Sweetie Belle.

“LOOK!” Applebloom snapped the other two fillies back in line. “We have a mission, and failure is NOT an option! Do I make myself clear!”

“SIR YES SIR.” They both said in unison.

“Alright then, everypony meet at the rendezvous point in thirty minutes! Break!” and with that, the three fillies headed of in separate directions.

    ----------

Deep in the orchard of apples, Applejack was busy bucking apples as usual.

“Applejack! Applejack!” a young voice called out.

“What the hay?” she looked out to see Scootaloo zipping on her scooter, she looked like she was in trouble. “Scootaloo?

What’s wrong?” she asked as the orange filly approached her.

“I need you come with me right away!” she was panting heavily. “Let’s go!”

    “Go where?” she asked.

“We don’t have time! We need to go now!” she turned her scooter around, urging Applejack to follow.

“Hold your horses! I’m a coming!” she said as she took off after the speeding little pegasus.

    -----------

Big Mac and Gigawatt were just hanging around the barn.

“Dude, did you see that hot Bon-bon pony? I think she totally wants me.” Gigawatt said boastfully.

    “Nope” replied big Mac.

“What are you talking about?” he said. “She totally digs me.”

    “Nope” repeated Big Mac.

“Right” he said sarcastically. “What is she? A fillyfooler?”

    “Yeeeuuuupppp”

“That what I tho- REALLY?” Gigawatt was shocked. “With who?”

Big Mac just chuckled to himself; he knew that Lyra and Bon-bon had been together for years.

They heard a quiet yelling coming from the orchard; it slowly began to build until the faint sound of Applebloom. “Gigawatt I need you, you’ve got to see this!” she called out, racing towards them.

He greeted the little filly. “Hey Bloomy, what’s up?”

“You’ve got to come with me!” she tugged on this yellow and blue mane.

“Hey, no messing with the mane” he smiled, his coat seemed to glow more when he smiled. “Come on Mac, let’s go.”

“NO!” screamed Applebloom. The two big ponies stared at her. She had been a little too loud. “I mean… uuh, I just need Gigawatt.”

Big Mac looked concerned at his sister, wondering what she meant.

Gigawatt put his worries to rest. “It’s okay Mac, I’ll catch up with you later. That okay? “

    “Yep” he said.

“GREAT!” Applebloom shouted, dragging him towards the apple fields.

    -------------

Back in the field just outside of the CMC’s clubhouse, Sweetie was putting the finishing touches to the picnic dinner. She was levitating a candle stick and putting it on the blanket when she heard the sound of two vices drawing nearer. She quickly touched everything up before jumping into a nearby bush.

“So what’s so darn important that y’all needed to drag me away from work for?” questioned Applejack, still following Scootaloo.

“Applebloom, what do you have to show me?” asked Gigawatt, coming from the opposite direction of Applejack.

    “Well you see Applejack……”

“Gigawatt, I have to tell you something….”

    “What in Tarnation’s!” scowled Applejack.

    “Hey there, AJ” replied Gigawatt.

“APPLEBLOOM! WHAT DID YOU DO?” Applejack scorned at her sister.

Applebloom began to giggle nervous. “Well it looks like y’all are busy so….” Her and Scootaloo jumped into another nearby bush, leaving Applejack and Gigawatt alone.

Applejack looked at Gigawatt. “Look here Gigawatt, I’m sorry my little sis dragged you here, if y’all want to leave that’s fine with me.”

Gigawatt smiled, showing off his bright white teeth. “And waste a perfectly good picnic” he pointed to the blanket laying on the grass. “I don’t think I could eat all of that food, and it looks like your sister and her friends worked hard to put this together.”

“Well….” She thought. She was rather hungry. “Oh what the hay? I could use a bite.” She smiled as the two walked to the blanket.

“WOOHOO!” screamed the cutie mark crusaders. Applejack frowned at them and they quickly retreated to their bush, watching them.

“You got to love them” chuckled Gigawatt.

“Yeah….” Her voice trailed off. “Sorry they dragged you into this. I told Applebloom not to do this.”

“And has she ever listened?” asked Gigawatt, taking a bite of a block of hay.

“Well……heh, no. I guess she doesn’t.” she said, taking in a mouthful of cut carrots.

“Be happy you just have the one. I’ve got four, and there all older” sighed Gigawatt, sipping some punch.

Apple spitted out her punch. “Four? How in da name of the princess did you survive?” she could barely keep control of one, and the idea of having four sisters was just unbearable.”

“I just take it in stride” he took a big drink of punch. “And I try to forget.”

“Ya poor thing.” She said leaning closer to him. “What did they do to ya?”

Gigawatt smiled nervously. “I would really rather not talk about it. It’s kind of embarrassing.”

“Now I gota know” she said. “C’mon, I promise not to tell anypony”

    “You do?”

“As my friend Pinkie would say, I ‘Pinkie Promise’.” Applejack crossed her heart and poked herself in the eye.

Gigawatt, amused by the gesture, decided to tell her. “When I was little, My sisters would……” he drifted off.

“Your sisters what?” asked Applejack, leaning towards the glowing pony.

    “My sisters………. Theysortadidsomethingreallystuipid.”

“They sort a did a what?”

“They dressed me up as a girl!” he finally blurted out.

“They dressed you up as a girl?” she was barely able to hold back her laughter.

“They were older than me!” he was starting to laugh too. “I was just a colt, and there were four of them!”

Applejack burst out laughing. “You just let them dress you up in dresses?” she grinned at him. “I’d never let a pony do that ta me.”

Gigawatt just rolled his eyes. “Whatever cowgirl.” Something caught his eye. He turned around to look to see three little fillies fast asleep. “D’aww, look at that.”

Applejack got up and headed towards the fillies. “I suppose that I should take these fillies home.” She grabbed Applebloom by the mane and flung her on her back. She then grabbed Sweetie Belle and tried to put her on her back as well, but she had a hard time supporting the two of them. “There a lot heavier than they use ta be.”

Suddenly, she felt a weight lifted of her back. Confused, she looked towards Gigawatt. His horn was glowing plasma green, much like the rest of his body did. By his side, were Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo, surrounded by a glowing green aura, levitating by his side. “Need a hand?” he asked.

Applejack couldn’t help but smile. “Thanks.” She said.

It was a short and quiet walk back to Applejack’s house. The two ponies hardly talking to each other further, other than a quick quip about the weather, or a fact about apples. This awkwardness continued until they finally reached the house.

“I’ll put Applebloom to bed, if y’all could set Scoot’s on the couch” said Applejack as she headed up the stairs of the house.

“Wait, we’re not taking her home?” asked Gigawatt, referring to the orange pegasus.

“Well to be honest…. I don’t know where she lives.”

“Really?” replied a shock Gigawatt. “You don’t know where she lives?”

“Don’t know if anypony does, ta be perfectly honest.” She called from upstairs. “I worry about her sometimes, ya know.”

“That sucks….. Couldn’t imagine what I’d do without a family…..” Gigawatt said, thinking of his own family. They did drive him crazy, especially his sisters, but he couldn’t imagine not having them.

Applejack walked back down the stairs. “Tell me about it. Well Applebloom is all tucked in, and Scootaloo’s out like a candle.” She looked at Sweetie Belle. “That leaves her.”

“Please tell me you know where this one lives.” Gigawatt joked.

    “Yeah, she’s Rarity’s lil sis.”

“Rarity?” wondered Gigawatt. “Rarity, rarity…… have I met that one.” He drifted off in his thought. “Is she the green unicorn with the white mane?”

    “That’s Lyra Heartstrings.”

“Oh that’s Lyra?” he said as they walked out of the house, Applejack carrying Sweetie Belle on her back. “Yeah I met her at the party. I think she likes me.” He smiled cockily at Applejack, who just laughed.

“I highly doubt that” snickered Applejack.

“Oh really? What makes you think that?” he asked smugly.

    “Well, cause she’s Bon-Bon’s marefriend.”

“That’s what I- WHAT?” Gigawatt said, his face frozen in disbelief. He fell to his knees and screamed to the heavens. “WHY IS EVERY MARE IN THIS TOWN A FILLYFOOLER!?”

Applejack gave a little puff of disbelief “Hey, straight pony right here!” she yelled, a little offended that she wasn’t one of his choices for a mare. What did Lyra have that she didn’t?

“Easy there Jacky” he got back up and started walking. “I was just fooling around.”

“Sure ya were” she said sarcastically as they continued down the path.

It was another stretch of pitch black quietness as Applejack and Gigawatt walked together in the half-moon light.

“Hey Gigawatt” said Applejack, finally breaking the silence.

    “Yes?”

“You knew what my sister was up too, didn’t you?”

“Of course.” He replied. “My sister tried this trick on me hundreds of times, mostly to embarrass me or hook me up with one of their friends. Why do you ask?”

“If ya knew what it was…..” she paused afraid to say what she was thinking.

“What? You can tell me.” He gave her another glowing smile. She couldn’t hold it in anymore.

“If ya knew what it was……. Why’d you stay?” she held her breath waiting for his reply.

“Simple” he said, leaning in to her ear. “Most ponies aren’t you.” He whispered.

Her heart stopped beating as her face turned hot red. Had he just said what she thought he’d said? ‘Most ponies aren’t you’, that were his exact words. Was he flirting with her? It seemed too obvious; he probably said that to all the mares he’d met. But he said it to her, which had to mean something! What to do, what to do? What was she thinking? She didn’t have time for coltfriends, she was better than that. Wasn’t she?

“Hey Applejack, is that the house?” Applejack shook her head as all her thoughts left her.

“What?” she looked up at what Gigawatt was pointing at. It was the Carousel Boutique. “Yeah, this is it.” she walked up to the door and gave it a knock. “I sure hope she’s still awake.”

The door opened. Rarity was wearing a silk pink sleeping gown and her hair was rolled up those weird hair roller things. She was still wearing her sleeping mask over her eyes.

“Who’s is this at this ungodly hour?” she let out a yawn as she pulled off her mask. “Oh hello Applejack” she turned to Gigawatt, averting her eyes from the strong light being emitted from his body. “Who’s your….. friend? “ she asked.

“This here is Gigawatt, friend of my brother, staying at the ranch with us for a visit. Anyhooves, we just wanted to drop off Sweetie for ya.” Gigawatt levitated the sleeping filly off of Applejack’s back.

“Here you go.” He said nicely.

“Why thank you Gigawatt.” Rarity said. She turned to Applejack. “Applejack, can I see you alone for a second?”

“I get it” said Gigawatt. “It’s pretty late; I’m going to head back to the orchard.” He turned around. “Night!” he called out as he walked away.

Applejack waved at the glowing pony. “Good night Giggy!” she quickly covered her mouth with her hooves. She looked towards Gigawatt’s direction; he didn’t seem to hear it. She gave a sigh of relief as she collected her thoughts.

“What was that all about?” asked Rarity, she looked at Applejack with a huge catty smile on her face as she watched Applejack turn red. “Oh we are SO talking about this.” She said as she dragged Applejack inside.

“I’ve got nothing to say” Applejack said, turning her head up to the unicorn.

“What’s the matter Applejack? Embarrassed of your new coltfriend?” she asked, her eyes half shutting with a cocky look in them.

“He’s not my coltfriend.” She said bluntly.

“So, does Big Macintosh know that you’re dating his friend? I imagine he might not be too fond of this.”

    “He’s not my coltfriend.”

“I mean, he certainly is GLOWING with personality. You know I never knew that’s what you were looking for in a coltfriend.”

    “He’s not my coltfriend!”

“So have you two kissed yet? Tell me every little dirty detail!”

“I HAVEN’T KISSED HIM YET CAUSE HE AIN’T MY COLTFRIEND!” she yelled. “WHY CAN’T EVERYPONY JST GET THAT!” she screamed at the top of her lungs. She was panting heavily from the scream. Rarity was terrified, yet she was still smiling. “I gotta go get some sleep; it’s a long day tomorrow.”

“WAIT, APPLEJACK!” Rarity said as Applejack was heading out the door.

    “What?”

“Take this” she said. Rarity’s horn began to glow white as a sexy, black piece of night wear was flung at Applejack’s face. “Wear this if you get lucky tonight!” she fell to the ground laughing.

“You can be such a mule sometimes! Ya know!” as she stomped out of the clothing shop, throwing the lingerie back at the white unciorn.

“Oh Applejack, really, have a sense of humor!” she hollered out as she laughed on into the night.

Chapter 15: The Red Side of the Moon

    A Very Special Somepony

Chapter 15: The Red Side of the Moon

A black butterfly was fluttering in the night, its shadow flicking in the red moonlight. The small creature fluttered into the Everfree Forest as it landed on a strange blue flower. There was a rustle in the forest, the wind blowing through the trees as the butterfly flew off, being carried in the wind. Blown off course, it struggled to gain control, but the wind was too much for its tiny wings. It was soon whisked away, away from Ponyville, away from the Everfree….

Up a dark mountain the butterfly found itself, the wind still carrying it, despite the butterfly’s struggles. It was at the top of the mountain that the small insect finally found sanctuary, a small cave, digging deep into the mountain. The black butterfly had to dig deep as it used all of its wing power to break free of the wind’s grasp. It flapped with all his might, strained itself until the butterfly finally shot towards the shelter of the cave.

Exhausted, but safe, the Black butterfly slowly glided around the cave. It was dark and gloomy, and it seemed to go on forever. As the butterfly fluttered on, it finally found itself a stable looking perch to rest on. It was a large statue of an earth pony. Surrounding the giant ponies, were five large rocks with stone carvings on it, again with different looking ponies craved in them. The butterfly flew up to the large statue of the pony and landed right on its nose, finally giving its wings a rest.

The moon rose higher into the sky, as the cave was illuminated by the red side of the moon. The crimson aura crawled ever so closer to the back of the cave, until the red light had reached the back of the cave, shining on the stone pony.
    There was a crack.

The eyes of the statue began to shamble into dust, leaving two glowing spheres in their place. The neck of the statue jerked to the side as the stone surface cracked more. Soon the side of the ponies began to crack as well, leaking out a grey misty substance. The black butterfly quickly flew off the crumbling statue and hovered a few feet away, watching as more and more of the statue fell apart. But even though the statue was crumbling, it never got any smaller. Large sheets of rocks were falling of the pony, revealing a pitch black coat.

Then, the pony began to move. Slowly at first, taking small jerky steps, his joints still embedded in stone. He shook his head and neck, revealing a smoky grey mane. Soon all but a few pieces had fallen off the giant pony. He continued walking towards the entrance of the cave, the black butterfly closely following behind him. The black stallion shook off the remaining bits of pebbles that clung to his coat as he finally reached the edge of the cave. He looked up at the moon. It was half white, and half red. He smiled as he turned to look at the black butterfly looking at him.

“Why hello there little guy” he smiled at the little butterfly. His voice was deep and sharp. “What are you doing all the way out here?” he lifted up a hoof, the butterfly landed on it. “You’re a cute little guy, aren’t cha?” his eyes widened as the butterfly looked up at him. “You know I love butterflies. Did you know that?” the butterfly shook its head. “Yes its true……” his eyes and smile slowly becoming more sinister “There delicious” he said as he quickly shoved the butterfly into his mouth, swallowing him whole.

“Mmmmm” he moaned with pleasure as he chewed the butterfly. “Taste like berries” he took a look at himself. “Black coat, grey mane, is my cutie mark even the same?” he checked his flank. Instead of his old cutie mark, which he couldn’t seem to remember, there was a large red heart broken in two pieces. “That’s new. I think I like this new look” he looked back towards the red/white moon. “So, it actually worked. Perfect” slowly, he turned towards the mountains, on the side of one was a magnificent castle city. “Celestia……” his voice became sad, but he slowly started to laugh. A small chuckle at first, quickly turning maniacal. “Oh Celestia! It’ll be so nice to see you again!” he laughed as he headed back to into the cave.

He walked back to the back of the cave. He looked at the stones that use to surround him. “I guess if I’m going to do this, I may need some assistance” he looked at the first stone tablet. He focused at the first tablet, much like a unicorn but instead of a glowing horn, his eyes started to glow red. Soon a blast of red energy blasted from his eyes and exploded the stone.

From the cloud, a small, round, transparent little colt emerged. His inky black mane, flowing like a wave. He spoke up. “Master? You’ve awaken?” his ghostly face forming a grin.

“Looks that way, doesn’t it Misfit” said the large black pony.

The round colt bowed in respect. “It will be an honor to serve again, Master Pureheart.”

The black stallion cringed at the sound of the name. “Pureheart is dead!” he frowned down on the little pony. “I am now and forever……… Heartbreaker!” he rather liked the name.

“Of course, Master Heartbreaker.” He said obediently.

Heartbreaker let Misfit continue to bow; he had more minions to wake up. He turned to the next stone, and blasted it with his red eye laser. This time, two ponies or rather, two pony heads, came from the dust clouds.

“Mistrust, Lies, I trust you two got along the past 800 years?”

“Of course!” said the blue head, clearly a male. “Didn’t we sister Lies?”

“Of course!” said the red head, clearly a female. “Didn’t we brother Mistrust?”

Heartbreaker rolled his eyes. They weren’t called Mistrust and lies for nothing. “Right, I’m sure…..” he lasered the next statue.

“WHHHHYYYYYY?!” a strained and desperate voice whined as a tall, pale faced colt walked out from the cloud of dust. “WHY DO I HURT SO MUCH MASTER? MAKE THE PAIN GO AWAY!” he was on the verge of crying.

“Quiet Agony!” Heartbreaker snapped at him. “I am not in the mood for your complaining!” the lanky pony sniffled a little, but quickly nodded his head.

He went to the next stone and blasted it as well. “I WAS SLEEPING YOU IDIOT!” a tiny little grey filly pounced out and grabbed Heartbreaker by his hoof. She started to squeeze it, as if to strangle the leg. “I’LL SEE YOU DEAD!” she started to hit him with her hoof.

Heartbreaker sighed. “Always a pleasure Ignorance” he looked to the final stone. “And last and certainly not least…” he easily blew up the rock, a small filly was curled up in a ball, her light green coat covered with X-shaped scars. “Envy….. wakey, wakey” he kicked the filly lightly with his free hoof. Her eyes shot opened. They were pitch white, no iris, no pupils, just white. She angrily grinned her razor sharp teeth.

“Why was I the last one to be awakened?” Envy asked.

“Because master likes you the least!” cackled Misfit.

“It’s not a lie, I promise” said Lies, giving a cheeky smile.

“You can’t mistrust us” said Mistrust, giving a cheeky smile.

“LEAVE ENVY ALONE!” screamed Agony. “LEAVE HER ALONE! I’M SERIOUS!”

“Will you please SHUT UP!” yelled Ignorance, pouncing on the pale-faced pony.

Soon all the little ponies were in a tussle with each other, punching, bucking, biting, choking and head-butting each other. Heartbreaker stood watching his minions.

He face hoofed. “Now I remember why I lost. Ponies stop” they didn’t respond. “Ponies!” he stomped his hoof down, still they kept fighting. “Can’t say I didn’t warn them. PONIES!” he screamed as his mane and eyes erupted into flames. The minions stopped fighting and looked at their master in fear.

Heartbreaker smiled, returning back to normal. “Now that I have your attention, we can begin.” He walked to the entrance, the others following him. Heartbreaker stared out the cave to the many fields, forests, and mountains. “This world is full of kindness and laughter and…..” he shuddered. “Love. Now we can’t have that now can we?” the minions shook their heads in agreement. “Exactly. As you know, the love of everypony weakens me, I could barely free you from your rocks, and that little explosion back there has me a bit tired.” He yawned. “I need you ponies to go out there and find all the hotspots for love.” He smiled as the minions started to get rallied up. “For the more hearts you break, the stronger I get! And soon, when the moon is almost red as blood, I will have my revenge on our dear Princess!” the minions spat at the mention of the Princess.

“Brake their hearts!” roared Ignorance. “Break all their hearts!” she ran and jumped into the air, turning into a grey sphere of energy as she flew away from the cave.

Heartbreaker stared at the rest of the ponies. “……….. You can go anytime now!”

Startled, the rest of the minions followed suit, forming their own colored spheres, and whisking away across Equestria.
He watched them fly away, a sly grin forming on his face. He looked towards the moon. “So it begins” he whispered. He turned towards Canterlot and licked his razor sharp teeth. “Soon, my Princess…….. Soon.”
