The train ride was uneventful due mainly to the fact that they slept through it, I mean the got no sleep during the night even alicorns need to sleep. They were awoken by the train brakes as they slowed to a stop. Naga lost his balance and fell forward crashing into the seat. For a powerful and wise practitioner of magic he sure was clumsy, after telling him so and laughing vigorously Twilight and Naga both left the train and started the walk to the castle.

The distance from the station to the actual palace was short but they decided to make a day of it, first they went to a used book store and browsed until they decided that there was nothing there that they hadn't already read. Naga had caught up on most of his reading at Twilight's but still enjoyed the time. Next they went to a coffee shop at the corner next to the book store, Naga had a frappuccino and Twilight a Chi tea. Eventually they decided to face the inevitable and walked up to the gates of the palace.

"This is new" Naga said as he took in the architecture "I remember our castle being in the Everfree forest last time I was here." She regarded his words and said "When your mom went nightmare form she obliterated most of the castle so Celestia rebuilt here. From our combined memories I can only guess that she became Nightmare moon after your alleged death." He nodded in agreement as the guards parted recognizing Twilight on the spot. However as they reached the throne room a guard stooped them saying "sorry Twilight the princesses said no visitors today, apparently somepony they loved dearly died one thousand years ago yesterday." Twilight smiled and said "I'm sure you can make an acception for us." as Naga released the spell hiding his wings.

The look on the guards face was priceless as they trotted past him and into the throne room, the first thing they saw was a sobbing Luna being held by Celestia. As soon as she turned around and saw Naga her arms fell away from her sister and he mouth fell agape "how?" she said weakly as Luna turned around and instantly her face went from that of heartbreak to one of pure joy. Without a word she tackled, or tried to, Naga who fazed through her turning his body into shadowy smoke. Luns regained her composure and looked into his eyes and hugged him. This time he let her, alowing himself to be wraped in a bundle of blueish purple and sobs of joy. Twilight looked at her mentor who regarded her with serious expression and said "you got some splain'in to do."

After a few minutes recalling what had happened to Naga between the time they saw him last and now, she mentioned the cult and was met with a resounding knowledge of it. As it happens the cult was reminiscent of the worshipers of discord who had now devoted themselves to killing all alicorns. The genocidal organization was wiped from existence shortly after Luna's imprisonment on the moon. Their return was a shock and disturbance to the princesses but they said that any attempt would likely fail due to lack of leadership and low numbers.

However Celestia notified her guards to be on the lookout for suspicious pony's who might be hostile. Naga meanwhile explained to Luna how Twilight had helped restore his memory and how they had decided to try a relationship, she was very surprised to find out that her savior and son were in love. But as much as it unnerved her she pushed past it and simply enjoyed the fact that her son was returning home alive. She knew that as the element of magic Twilight was exposed to a godly amount of raw power making her virtually immortal meaning that Naga wouldn't outlive her so she took comfort in the fact that as long as nothing terrible happened they would be happy for as long as they decided to live.

Upon Luna's insistence they decided to spend the night, they had planed for this and told spike in the note that they may be gone for a few days. The three of them walked into the grand hall where a marvelous feast had been laid out, "We were just preparing for dinner when you arrived, Twilight I cant thank you enough for saving Naga if it hadn't have been you..... I dread to think what may have happened." Luna said a tear forming in her eye that she quickly brushed away. Twilight looked confused and asked "But anypony could have helped him, and Zecora did most of the healing all I did was help."

Luna looked at her dead serious "No, not his physical recovery his emotional and mental. I doubt that anypony else would have given him the chance and if you hadn't he would still be lost to us." Twilight realized with a shock that if she hadn't given him a chance he would be dead or worse in the hooves of that cult, she shuddered at the thought. Seeing her discomfort Naga walked up to her and put a wing around her and held her close. They were very close even after knowing each other for such a short time. Joining minds, even for a brief moment, had made them feel as though they had known each other for their entire lives.

The trio proceed to eat a variety of foods ranging from the exotic to the basic done up in ways nopony ever thought of before. Afterwards they all retired to their chambers Naga and Twilight deciding to sleep together. They curled up in bed and Naga wrapped her in his wings and soon they drifted off into blissful sleep dreaming of each other and of the days to come. Luna sighed as she looked down on her son and his mare joy mixed with reluctance filled her heart. "Sleep tight my little prince, I will never let them take you again this I swear"
