Stumbling into Love
Chapter 1: Stumbling into Love
Stumbling into Love
Applejack let out a sigh as she walked leisurely through the streets of Ponyville. The farmer stretched her back and then her legs, trying to loosen her sore muscles from the long day’s work she had done. She had never felt that farm life was easy, but today had been especially trying for her. Usually, Applejack had to be up early in the morning, before even Celestia was up to raise the sun, and get started on her chores. She had hay to bail, chickens to feed, cows to milk, and that was all before breakfast. After that, she had to be out in the orchard, doing what she did best—bucking. Her and her brother usually would buck at least a hundred trees a piece, and gather their crops to sell that weekend. Of course before they could do that, the whole Apple family would have to sort through the haul, and find the cream of the crop. Only the finest apples were worthy to be sold at market by the Apple family. They had a reputation after all.
But today had been rough for her. Aside from all the hard work, Applejack had not felt quite right today. Everything she did just seemed off, from how her mane sat on her head, down to how she bucked trees. Nothing just felt right—like she was just a degree off of normal. She stubbed her hoof this morning; hurt herself bucking a tree; and stepped in mud. Today was just an all around bad day. Aside from her physical mishaps, work dragged; nothing seemed to cooperate; and she was just struggling to keep up. Applejack wasn’t usually one for superstition, but the day before she had torn her trademark stetson hat pretty badly. So she couldn’t help but feel that was the reason everything was just not going her way.
But luckily for her, she had a friend who the best tailor in town. Of course, Rarity offered to fix it up for her, but that also meant she wouldn’t have her favorite hat for the day. At least she thought Rarity planned to fix her hat for her today. Applejack had come into town, exhausted from her hellishly long day. Though she did manage to at least take a shower before she came—the last thing she wanted was to hear Rarity complaining about the way she smelled after all, even though she didn’t plan on staying long. The only thing on the tired cowpony’s mind was getting her hat back, and putting and end to this funk of hers. But when she came to the boutique, she saw something she shouldn’t have.
Applejack did a double-take as she passed the window on her way to the door. Inside, she could see Rarity doing something weird—at least that was the only way Applejack could describe what she was witnessing. Rarity had Applejack’s hat on her head, and was doing a ballroom dance with one of her mannequins. It took Applejack’s brain a moment to process what exactly she was seeing. Her right and proper friend was dancing about her shop like she was with her dream stallion. Rarity was so into her little dance, she didn’t seem to have a care in the world; she was completely oblivious to everything around her.
Applejack couldn’t take her eyes off Rarity. She watched as the dressmaker swung her mannequin around, dashing across her shop, holding its hoof with her own. Rarity was using her magic to move the mannequin so it actually appeared like it was dancing with her. She snapped the mannequin out, extending her hoof as she did so. When she did, Applejack could see the look of exuberance on Rarity’s face. It took every ounce of willpower she had to not burst out laughing. But just as she was about to lose it, she saw a familiar mark on the mannequin’s haunch.
Applejack felt her blood run cold for a second when she saw pained onto that dummy’s flank was her own cutie mark—three red apples. Whatever imaginary music Rarity had been dancing to seemed to die down, ending with her suspending the mannequin under herself, almost in a half-way hug. The designer stared into where its eyes would be for a moment before slowly closing her own. Applejack felt her whole body tense as Rarity closed the gap between herself and her imaginary dance partner. The farmer’s eyes went wide, and her heart seized for a moment when Rarity’s lips met the mannequins.
In that instant Applejack made up her mind. This had officially crossed the line from something she would just tease Rarity over, to something that she would never mention again. Applejack took a cautious step back from the window. As soon as she saw Rarity’s lips touch the mannequin, she decided that she would never say a word about what she saw, and she would try her best to forget she ever saw it in the first place—for both their sakes. She took another small step, but this time there was something in her way.
Applejack accidentally slid her back hoof into a bucket that was sitting on the ground behind her. The farmer’s leg slid under her, causing her to fall onto her back. The momentum built from her fall was enough to kick the bucket off her leg, sending it crashing into the wall in front of her with a loud clang—narrowly missing Rarity’s window. Applejack laid there for a moment with her eyes closed trying to catch her breath after the wind was knocked out of her. She could already feel her sore muscles in her back ache from that little trip.
“A-Applejack?” Rarity gasped. Applejack hesitated to open her eyes, already knowing this was going to be a pain in the flank to explain—much less explain without her sounding like a pervert or something. When she finally did open her eyes, she saw a very shocked unicorn looking down at her with wide eyes, her cheeks were flushed red, her mouth hung slightly agape in disbelief.
Applejack could only crack a small smile as she rubbed the back of her head. “H-Howdy, Rarity,” she said in a low tone.
“W-What are you doing outside my window?” Rarity asked trying to keep her voice down. The designer gave a few paranoid glances to either side, making sure no one else was watching.
“J-Just...uh...passin’ by?” Applejack forced a laugh as she climbed back onto all four hooves.
Rarity glanced back into her house. A moment later she shot a glare back to Applejack. “Were you were spying on me?” she accused.
“No! I just...happened to pass by yer window...and I was...uh...seein’ if ya were done with my hat.” Applejack decided it would be best to censor her sentence a bit. A small bead of sweat rolled down her brow as an uneasiness built in her chest. She didn’t want to lie to anyone, and as long as Rarity didn’t ask her what exactly she saw, she wouldn’t have to answer.
“You saw didn’t you!” Rarity accused her again, still keeping her voice down.
“I-I wasn’t lookin’ on purpose, I really did just happen by s’all.”
“Get in here, now!” Rarity demanded before closing the window.
Applejack lowered her head. Reluctantly, she started towards the door into the boutique. For a brief moment it crossed her mind that she had the chance to simply leave, but that didn’t sit well with her. Applejack wasn’t the type of pony to run out like that. She had invaded Rarity’s privacy—purposefully or not—and she owed it to Rarity to at least try and make it up to her.
Applejack looked at the door, feeling her heart weigh heavy. She took one last look at freedom before she entered Rarity’s boutique. When she opened the door, she was met with Rarity standing on the other side tapping her hoof impatiently.
“You have some nerve peeping on me like that,” Rarity started. “Just how much did you see?”
“I didn’t see anythin’ really.” Applejack didn’t realize just how obvious her little lie was. Without even being conscious of it, her eyes found themselves looking up and off to the side, and she scratched her foreleg with her hoof. Everything the farmer did simply screamed that she wasn’t telling the truth.
“You’re a terrible liar, Applejack.” Rarity closed the door behind the cowpony with her magic.
Applejack could feel Rarity’s gaze still burning on her. It only made her not want to look at her friend even more. The farmer gave a small sigh, not really seeing a point in keeping her charade up at this point. “Fine, I saw the whole thing...Sorry...”
“I knew it!” Rarity hissed. “You were peeping on me!”
“No, I was comin’ ta get my hat—which I see ya were usin’ in yer little dance routine...” Applejack’s eyes snapped to Rarity, giving the designer a glare of her own. “Ya care ta explain that one?”
“Oh! Um...well, that was...just a small break. I sometimes dance with my mannequins to take my mind of work!” Rarity’s face flushed red with embarrassment.
“Ones with yer customers cutie marks on ‘em?” Applejack asked with sarcasm.
“U-Um, yes...” Rarity stammered.
“An’ ya kiss ‘em too?” Applejack raised a skeptical eyebrow at Rarity.
“Y-You were the one peeping on me!” Rarity pointed an accusing hoof at Applejack.
“Yeah, an’ I apologized fer that! But ya were dancin’ around with one’a yer dressmakin’ dummies that had my cutie mark and ya had my hat on!”
“What I do in my house is my business!” She took her extended hoof, and brushed her mane out of her face. The flustered mare’s perfectly styled mane was looking a bit haggard. A few stray strands of purple broke from her masterfully sculpted curls. “Besides, it’s not what you think.”
“Ya kissed it, Rarity! What the hay do ya want me ta think? What do ya have, some kinda mannequin fetish or somethin’? ”
“I only kissed it because I was imagining it was you!” Rarity blurted out without much thought. Suddenly she placed her hooves over her mouth, in complete disbelief over what she had just said. She immediately yelled at herself mentally for her little slip of the tongue.
“W-What?” Applejack asked, taking a small step back from her friend.
Rarity could only stare at Applejack. She could hardly believe that she had been so careless to blurt out her deepest secret. Looking at Applejack, she could see how conflicted the farmer was. Applejack only stared back at Rarity, her eyes wide and full of disbelief. “Y-You heard me...” Rarity finally answered from behind her hooves. She knew there really wasn’t a reason in trying to hide it anymore, so she might as well own it. She could see it all over Applejack’s face that she heard her the first time. There was no backtracking here, the cat was already out of the bag—so to speak. “I was imagining it was you,” she repeated.
“W-Why would ya do that...” Applejack asked with a quivering lip.
“B-Because I like you!” Rarity was on the verge of tears. She couldn’t stop her hooves from trembling in front of her mouth. The designer’s heart felt like it was being squeezed right out of her chest. This was the moment Applejack would storm out of Rarity’s boutique, and probably never speak to her again. Rarity knew it was coming; she held for that moment when Applejack would turn around. She braced herself for a harsh word or two from her soon-to-be-former friend before she left in a fit. Her whole body was on pins and needles for the outburst to come.
“I-I’m not a stallion...” Applejack said quietly with a tremble in her voice.
Rarity waited for Applejack to turn around, to leave, to slam her door, and never come back, but she only stood there. Applejack wasn’t leaving; she was only staring at Rarity in disbelief. Why wasn’t she leaving? Why wasn’t she slamming the door? Why wasn’t she yelling at her for just admitting how she felt? “I-I’m well aware of that...” Rarity replied back, sharing Applejack’s soft, fearful tone.
“I-If ya know that then why are ya sayin’ ya like me?” Applejack asked, averting her eyes.
“B-Because I do like you...”
“A-As a friend ya mean, right...”
“You know exactly the way I mean!” Rarity walked towards Applejack. When she stood face to face with Applejack, she was surprised the farmer didn’t back away from her. “Please don’t hate me, Applejack...” Her voice still trembled with uncertainty.
“I-I don’t hate ya, Rarity, I’m just a little...surprised. I mean we don’t really see eye ta eye on most things...” She shot an hesitant glance to Rarity before looking away again.
“That may be true, but you’ve been there so much for me—well, ever since we spent the night at Twilight’s you have been at least...You’ve helped me get closer to Sweetie Belle, and you’re always supporting me.” She placed a gentle hoof on Applejack’s cheek, and gave her a caring smile.
“I always thought ya were in ta stallions though...” Applejack’s cheeks flushed red.
“Well, let’s say I’ve expanded my horizons.” She gave a nervous laugh. “You have a peculiar mix of masculine dependability and feminine charm that you seem oblivious to, dear.” Rarity’s cheeks turned a shade of red as well. “It really makes you quite...irresistible...” A small smile spread across Rarity’s face.
Applejack turned to look at her. When their eyes met, Applejack leaned in an placed her lips on Rarity’s. The designer shirked back a bit in surprise, but not enough to break their kiss. The feel of Applejack’s lips on hers felt utterly divine; their silky texture wasn’t anything like the lips of a stallion. Rarity’s eyes drifted closed as she came to terms with what was happening. She slowly leaned into Applejack, returning her friend’s affection.
When they broke, Applejack looked into Rarity’s eyes. In that moment she had never seen a mare so beautiful. But as the two stared at one another for a moment, a mixture of fear and hesitation filled the air between them. They found themselves unsure what to say—what should they say? Their silence only fueled the awkwardness.
“Seein’ ya all nervous like this makes ya kinda cute...” Applejack finally said trying to hide her own embarrassment.
“Are you...trying to tell me you feel the same way?” Rarity asked, giving Applejack a sly, almost condescending look.
“I reckon I’ve had my eye on ya for a l’il while now. But I thought ya weren’t inta mares, so I didn’t really bother.” Applejack rubbed the back of her head, her cheeks still flaring as she did so.
“I guess that will teach us to judge a book by its cover. I always thought you were the tough farm girl looking for an even tougher stallion, so I’ve never thought I had a chance.”
“Nope, I’ve always preferred a cute mare over some stallion any day.” Applejack gave a sly smile of her own. “And I gotta say, yer the cutest in town,” she added flirtatiously. The two found themselves staring into one another’s eyes again. This time there was no hesitation, only relief. They could feel their hearts pounding, and adrenaline coursing through them. Both had finally admitted their buried feelings, and it was truly liberating. A great weight had been lifted from Applejack’s and Rarity’s heart. But as they stared into one another’s eyes, they suddenly felt embarrassed. The two broke their gaze at the same instant.
“I-I had best get you your hat...” Rarity said before walking away.
But as Rarity turned away, Applejack noticed something about the mare. In fact, Applejack had been vaguely aware of it since she kissed her. A certain scent filled the air—one Applejack was familiar with. While staring at Rarity’s perfectly shaped rump as she walked away, a thin line of wetness sliding down Rarity’s hind leg caught her attention. A small, devilish smile slid across Applejack’s face, and she followed Rarity into her showroom.
“Feelin’ a l’il hot an’ bothered, sugarcube?” Applejack asked, sliding up behind Rarity.
The designer jumped when she felt Applejack’s breath on her ear. “W-What?” she asked. Her face turned bright red.
“Don’t play dumb now, Rarity. Were ya expectin’ somethin’ from me when I kissed ya?”
Rarity shot a nervous glanced back to Applejack. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“That so? Well, why don’t I just take a look back here.” Applejack’s hoof slid up Rarity’s hind leg, slowly caressing her inner thigh. The designer’s body tensed under Applejack’s touch. Rarity’s muscles tightened as her hoof glided across her fur. She could feel her friend’s body stiffen to which she laughed a bit. “No need to be shy about it, sugarcube, I’ll be gentle.” Applejack whispered into Rarity’s ear.
Rarity’s haunches slowly loosened, relaxing for Applejack. The cowpony smiled even wider when she saw Rarity’s beautifully curled tail swish off to the side on instinct. She slid her hoof up to the unicorn’s moist slit. When she pressed her hoof against Rarity’s marehood, the fashionista arched her back. “W-We’re really going to do this?”
“Ya don’t want me ta stop, do ya?” Applejack asked with a sultry tone.
“C-Can we at least go to my bedroom?” Rarity pulled away from Applejack. When she looked back, the cowpony nodded.
“I don’t see why not.”
Rarity led Applejack to her bedroom. Once the earth pony mare was in the room, she used her magic to close the door behind them. Next the sparkling blue aura trailed off the door, and flowed to Applejack. She used her magic to give the farmer a small push towards her bed.
Applejack got the hint pretty quickly. With only a small push, she climbed onto Rarity’s extravagant sheets. They were a soft, red satin that felt good against Applejack’s fur. The mattress itself was beyond soft. She sunk into the pillowy surface as soon as her weight was on it. Though it was far too soft for her to actually sleep on, she enjoyed how much the bed gave under her, like it was cradling her.
Rarity appeared next to her on the bed, looking at her with a come hither gaze. “You’re really sure about this?” she asked.
“After the day I’ve had, I need this.” Applejack said, sliding up next to Rarity.
“I hope you know that sex with unicorns can be...rather intense...” Rarity gave a small, almost cocky smile.
“Well, I hope ya know earth ponies ain‘t no pushovers.” Applejack leaned into kiss Rarity, but she was blocked by the unicorn’s magic.
“I think we can move past the foreplay, darling,” she said with a subtle lust in her proper tone. The magic that had blocked Applejack a second ago folded in around her, enveloping her head. Applejack tried to shake it off, but it was like trying to shake off air. No matter what she did the aura clung to her.
“What the hay are ya doin’?” she asked, but Rarity didn’t respond. Everything around Applejack had a strange sparkling blue tint to it, which was a little of disorienting for her; each little twinkle of light felt like it was hypnotizing her. Her whole head felt warm almost to the point that it was hot, and her skin was tingling. It was rather pleasant. But this feeling didn’t stay around her head. Slowly, Rarity’s magic spread over her entire body, until it enveloped her entirely. Soon every inch of her skin was tingling with wonderful warmth.
The unicorn sat next to Applejack, smiling a cocky smile as she watched the farmer’s eyes glazed over. “How does it feel, Applejack?” she asked.
“W-What the hay did ya do?” Applejack asked weakly.
“I told you unicorn sex is rather intense. I used a sensitivity spell—they are rather common in the bedroom.” She leaned in and kissed Applejack.
Once their lips met, Applejack’s entire body tensed up. She couldn’t just feel Rarity’s lips on hers, but every single inch where their flesh touched screamed out in utter bliss. When Rarity invaded her mouth, she could feel every taste bud onRarity’s and her own tongue as the played with one another. Her senses were so heightened, she could taste Rarity’s last meal in their mixing saliva. Each breath Rarity took she could feel, like a warm breeze blowing through her fur. Applejack couldn’t have possibly understood what Rarity meant when she said unicorn sex was intense. This was unlike anything she had ever experienced.
As the two kissed, Rarity’s magic flowed over to the unicorn herself. Much like it had with Applejack, it slowly enveloped her entire body. When they finally broke their kiss, the pale blue aura surrounding them vanished. The two stared into one another’s eyes for a moment. Applejack was panting heavily, and Rarity was winded as well.
“Well, what do you think?” the designer asked.
Applejack gave her a small smile with desire-filled eyes. “I think I could get used to this.” Applejack pounced Rarity, pushing her into the bed’s welcoming, pillowy surface. The two stared at one another for moment, looking at each other with longing. Suddenly Applejack thrust herself down into Rarity’s neck, kissing her, and breathing in her scent deeply.
The designer cried out. She wrapped her forelegs around Applejack, squeezing her tightly to her body. Rarity nuzzled Applejack’s neck lovingly, letting herself be absorbed in her friend’s affections. The sweet scent of apples wafted into her nostrils, along with the fresh smells of the outdoors. It was a rather welcoming—she half expected Applejack to reek of sweat, but she actually smelled nice. Her fur felt smooth and clean—the complete opposite she had imagined. She kissed her lover’s neck, causing Applejack to shudder in her forelegs.
“I hope you’re ready to move past the appetizer, dear. I don’t think either of us particularly need to warm up, so let’s move on to the main course.” Rarity’s horn sprang to life with a pale blue aura.
Applejack suddenly felt that same warm, tingling sensation from before slowly spreading over her marehood. She shot an unsure, almost fearful look to Rarity, but the designer only smiled at her. Applejack could feel Rarity’s magic slipping inside her, slowly spreading over her inner walls. Applejack’s body shuddered uncontrollably as Rarity’s magic filled her.
“T-This feels kinda weird,” she said weakly.
“Just give it a chance.” Rarity kissed Applejack on the lips again. As the two shared their passion, Rarity felt something hard brush up against her own sex. Her body tensed for a moment when Applejack’s hoof brushed against her already swollen clit. She broke her kiss with her lover for a moment.
“I like it rather rough, so I hope you can deliver.” She looked at Applejack with a sultry gaze. A burning lust sat deep within her eyes, though she still had a certain sophisticated air about her.
Applejack couldn’t help but laugh to herself. Seeing Rarity still trying to be proper with Applejack on top of her had ignited something inside the cowpony. She wanted to see Rarity lose control; she wanted to see that primal look on her face; she wanted to see Rarity cum for her. Applejack slid the tip of her hoof down, until Rarity’s clit was pressed against the soft, inner part of her hoof. Careful but still forcefully, she ground the base of her hoof into Rarity’s sensitive flesh.
Rarity suddenly gasped as a jolt of pleasure shot through her body. But applejack wasn’t simply done after that. An onslaught of bliss assaulted her senses. She almost cried out when Applejack started vigorously rubbing her hoof against her slit at lightning speed. The cowpony pressed against her hard, grinding her hoof in as she moved. It was almost painful, but Rarity loved it. Each stroke of Applejacks hoof rippled through her entire body, making her shake. A wonderful friction built between Applejack’s hoof and Rarity’s sex. She was already close—far too close than she wanted. Rarity wanted to enjoy this as long as she possibly could. She shot a defiant glance up at Applejack.
Suddenly, Applejack felt a vibrating heat inside her that instantly stopped her in her tracks. Every inch of her already dripping sex was set ablaze. What felt like countless tiny hooves massaged every inch of her inner walls. They rubbed her sensitive flesh in a circular fashion, stimulating her beyond what she thought was possible. She couldn’t stop her hind legs from shaking uncontrollably, and each shake from her leg sent a tremor rolling up through the rest of her body. She had never felt anything so intense before in her life. Finally her legs collapsed out from under her.
“T-That don’t seem fair,” Applejack said, barely able to speak in between her panting.
“Well, don’t think you can get the drop on me.” Rarity grabbed Applejack’s cheeks in her hooves and pulled her down for another kiss. When they broke she gave her a small smile. “I want this to last, and if you kept that up, I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy this.”
“Ya could’a just asked me ta slow down.”
“True, but you needed to do some catching up.” Rarity accented her remark with a kiss on the cheek.
“Well, I think I’ve done enough catchin’ up,” she said, sliding down Rarity’s body.
Rarity didn’t need to ask what Applejack was doing, she already had a good idea where this was leading. After a moment, her earth pony lover wrapped her forelegs around Rarity’s hind legs, holding them apart. She could feel Applejack’s warm breath moving across her soaked flesh. Each time the cowpony breathed, it sent a shiver through Rarity’s whole body.
“Don’t keep me waiting, darling,” she coaxed, shaking her hips slightly. Applejack placed her lips on Rarity’s slit, giving it a soft kiss first, then her tongue dove into her lover’s shivering sex. She licked from the base, all the way to the fashionista’s clit. The designer had a certain elegance to her flavor, like a glass of wine she had tried before. It was salty, but with a hint of sweetness.
Rarity cried out as soon as she felt Applejack’s tongue trace her folds. The earth pony wasn’t as skilled with her tongue as she was with her hooves, but she was hitting Rarity in all the right places. Her haunches tightened as waves of pleasure rolled through her body. Each painfully slow swipe of Applejack’s tongue felt utterly delicious. Rarity couldn’t stop herself from whimpering, begging Applejack for more, which the farmer obliged by licking faster and deeper. It didn’t take long for her to feel herself on the edge once more.
Rarity’s horn glowed brighter, casting a pale blue light over the room. The magic inside Applejack kicked into overdrive. In an instant, every other sensation was drowned out by orgasmic pleasure. She could feel her womb filling with a burning heat as Rarity’s magic continued to probe deeper inside her. It was all too much, her body almost shut down; she couldn’t even move her tongue anymore. She pulled herself from Rarity’s pussy, and placed her lips around the designer’s clit. Rarity cried out as soon as Applejack started suckling her sensitive flesh. Applejack knew Rarity was close, which she breathed a sigh of relief for because she was close herself.
The farmer weakly opened her eyes to claim her prize. She looked up to see Rarity’s back arched; her head forced back into the sheets; her hoof pressed weakly to her mouth; and a thin line of drool seeping from her mouth. It was everything Applejack had wanted and more—she was able to see Rarity cum. Suddenly the room was engulfed by a blue glow. Rarity’s entire body arched back as her orgasm took her.
The power flowing through the unicorn intensified the spell working inside Applejack. She cried out in ecstasy as her marehood felt like it was going numb. The warm vibration filling her became too intense. Her whole body seized to the point she couldn’t move it anymore. Her hind legs shook uncontrollably, kicking into the mattress. Then suddenly, she fell limp.
When she finally regained control of her body, she was too exhausted to move. She had never felt so completely drained after sex before—she felt like she had after the last applebuck season when Big Mac hurt himself. She weakly reached out so she could crawl next to Rarity. When she tried to move, it was like dragging a lead weight behind her. Slowly Applejack slid up next to her lover.
The two’s eyes met, staring at one another longingly. After a moment they shared a small laugh. “Applejack...dear, you were fantastic...” Rarity said, placing a hoof on Applejack’s cheek.
“Yeah, ya weren’t so bad yerself. Though I take back what I said about that spell, I don’t think I could ever get used ta that.” Applejack slowly leaned into Rarity. The two pressed their lips together in a kiss.

Sweetie Belle walked into the Carousel Boutique after she had spent some time with her friends after school. When she entered the boutique, she saw her sister and Applejack chatting by Rarity’s sewing station. The two seemed rather cheerful as they chatted—perhaps a little more so than usual. As she approached she could tell that there was something going on. She gave the two of them a skeptical glance. She couldn’t say off hoof, but something was different about them.
“Oh, Sweetie Belle, you’re home early,” Rarity said with a chipper tone.
“Yeah, our ice cream making cutie mark plan didn’t work out. Apparently pinecones don’t make a good flavor for ice cream...” she said with a sigh.
“Cheer up, I’m sure y’all will get’em some day.” Applejack shot Rarity a small smile as she spoke.
“What’s up with you two?” she asked looking back and forth between them. Her eyes caught her older sister, finding something particularly off about her. “There’s something different about you...” she said, narrowing her eyes at Rarity.
“Oh you’re just imagining things. Why don’t you go get ready for dinner, alright?”
Sweetie Belle turned to walk away, but she kept her eyes on Rarity. She couldn’t quite figure it out, but for some reason her sister was in unusually high spirits. There was something different about Applejack too, but she couldn’t be sure. If she had to describe it, she would have to say both of them seemed to be glowing. She decided to push it from her mind. Whatever it was, it was probably grown up stuff, and she really didn’t care that much. As long as they were getting along, it couldn’t be too bad.
With Sweetie Belle gone, Applejack and Rarity looked at one another. They shot each other a flirtatious smile before Applejack leaned in and kissed Rarity on the lips. “She’s pretty smart, ain’t she.”
“Yes, but trust me, she didn’t figure us out.” Rarity slid Applejack’s hat off her head, and pulled it onto her own.
“So when should we tell everypony?” Applejack asked.
“Let’s wait until things get a little more settled before we announce it to the world, alright?”
“Just as finicky as always, huh,” Applejack mused as she leaned into kiss Rarity again.
“And you’re just as brash as ever...” Their lips met for a moment, sharing in one another’s passion. Their eyes closed, letting themselves get absorbed in the moment. When then finally broke, they slowly opened their eyes. “But that’s one of the things I like about you...sometimes,” Rarity added with a teasing smile.
The End
