After the tornado incident with Dash's friends, Lightning Dust almost got herself kicked out of the Wonderbolt academy and nearly lost her dream of being a top flier. Thanks to Rainbow Dash sticking up for her, Lightning Dust was given a second chance at glory. Because of that help, Lightning Dust started to develop a more special bond with her friend. After a wing preening session, Lightning Dust discovers more to her friend then she originally thought with the discovery that Rainbow Dash isn't entirely female. Of course good wing ponies make sure their lead pony comrades are well taken care of, and seeing her friend in need of help, Lightning Dust tends to Rainbow's needs in ways Rainbow herself thought she would never get treated.
