Dear Diary,

Well boy howdy, that Elusive sure does know how to surprise girl. He found a small out of the way rodeo just outside of Canterlot. It not part of the official circuit of events, and wont count for standings, but still. Anyway, he entered us in a couples event, and it's tomorrow afternoon. We can take the first train tomorrow, win the event, and even meet up with Twilight and Alex for supper. Oh, and RD too, I guess. Then, we take our ribbons and hop on the late train home. Granny Smith thought it was a good idea and told Big Macintosh so.

I've never done a couples event before, and we spent most of the late afternoon learning how to. Heh, I'm not afraid of him ever taking my title as the best rodeo pony in Ponyville. Bless my heart he tried so hard, but life as a tailor doesn't make for a good rodeo pony. I think together we should do just fine. Together. It was real nice. As a mater of fact, before he left, I kissed him. Nothing fancy, just a peck on the lips. I sure hope he don't think I'm some kind of easy trollop, cuz I ain't. But, I don't think he does.

Funny thing is, he hasn't commented on my looks since we first met. Not once. But he does look at me when he thinks I don't notice. An that makes me feel good.

Even if this relationship dies, it has meant a lot to me.

Now why in tarnation are you thinking like that girl? He's fun, smart, very fine looking, and he seems to like the real you.

Why? Because they always disappoint. They always just look at me as a pretty face.

But, not this time.
