Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Old Habits

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

7:35pm

Pound began to stir and slowly opened his eyes. He smiled, remembering that it was a very pleasant dream. His smile turned into a frown when he remembered Princess Luna ruined it. He sat up from the bed and noticed Twilight’s sweet smell. With a deep breath, he sighed and stretched upwards. It was a nice nap.

He didn’t know what exactly Twilight used on him, but it lulled into a deep slumber. The past many minutes flew by in no time. Pound lifted his covers to find boxer shorts and a plain white t-shirt dressed on him.

His eyes stared intently and imagined Twilight dressing him up while he was unconscious.

Nah.

He shook his head and let his fantasies dissipate. But then again, where was Twilight? Pound slowly got out of the bed and walked forward. Not too far away, he heard the soft humming coming from the kitchen. She was in a different nightgown, it was a veil of purple instead of the color white before. Twilight turned around, with glasses sitting on her muzzle.

“Hey, sleepyhead!” Twilight cheerfully said, “Had a nice nap?”

Pound sheepishly rubbed his head and nodded. “Y-Yeah.”

Twilight readjusted her glasses and smiled. “That’s good.” She turned back to the kitchen counter, her eyes glued to a book. Pound took a small jump and descended with the assist of his wings. He took a peek what she was reading and immediately shuddered. He knew that if he brought up anything of pony history, he was going to be given a lecture.

“Pound, when you see this book, what do you think?” she asked, holding up the thick leathered thing. History of Equestria, it read.

“Equestria’s… history,” he replied. He didn’t want Twilight to go on another rant again.

She nodded and then spoke. “Equestria’s history has always been interesting to me, since it’s always been clouded in a black shroud of mystery.” She beamed a smile at him. “Isn’t that the reason why you started to come to the library in the first place?” she asked.

“Yeah, sort of,” Pound said, “I just wanted to try something new for a change.”

“Even if you’re not that interested in history, I’m glad that you came,” she said, closing the book. She pointed a finger and winked at him. “We have a lot of things to do tomorrow, my number two assistant!”

“Wait, I’m suddenly number two now?”

“In fact, why don’t we go over the list of things to do tomorrow?” she asked with excitement.

“Wait, Twilight, wait,” Pound said, watching her face brighten up each passing moment. “I have a better idea than just lists.”

“Oh!” Twilight exclaimed, beaming a brighter smile. “Study?”

“How about we just talk?” he asked, desperately trying to drift Twilight away from the realm of studying. “We should… catch up.”

Twilight gave a nod. “That sounds fun,” she said, watching Pound sit down next to her. “What should we talk about?”

“Anything.” He grimaced the moment he said that and regret his decision.

“How about we discuss the debate over the Ruby Age?” Twilight suggested, clapping her hands. “I’ve never ever had someone ever talk to me about it!”

“W-Why is that?” Pound asked.

“Well, it’s a rarity to meet somepony that’s interested in Equestrian history around here, and no one really studies on something like the complex and controversial Ruby Age!” Twilight said, “And the pressures of Princess Celestia with friendship and study reports had made me stressing for the longest time!” she continued, with a bright happy smile on her face. “Now, how about that Ruby Age?”

“Uh, it was red.”

“Yes! Red like the blood of Ruby Bloodstone’s enemies!” Twilight said, using her magic to bring a book toward her. Her eyes glimmered. “Ah, yes! The works of Purist Thunderwrath!”

9:41pm

"So, the student asks his master, ‘You teach me to fight, but you talk about peace. How do you reconcile the two?’ The master gave a solemn nod and replied. ‘It is better to be a warrior in a garden than to be a gardener in a war.’ “ Twilight looked up from a thick book. “This book right here dives deep into the root of Equestrian peace and military might. As you know, Equestria has one of the strongest militaries. It’s been agreed that to maintain peace, an iron fist is needed for order and harmony.” Twilight smiled and continued. “And that brings to Ruby Bloodstone’s method of rule. She was harsh, but fair. It was considered she was like a burning flame. ‘Fire’s a fine servant, but a harsh mistress’,” she quoted with a finger in the air. “Her brother, Crimson Bloodstone, had said this when he saw her sister in the rule of the court.”

Pound thought it was a bit boring, but Twilight’s passion of history and her explanations peeked his interest. And it was cute when she talked. Her eyes would brighten, her lips curled into a smile when she would make a point. The motion of her hands flowed into her words. Sure, he didn’t know much about it, but he wouldn’t mind learning it from her.

“So what was Crimson and Ruby’s relationship like?” he asked.

“Oh, very complicated. It was written and said that Crimson respectfully denied the seat next to his sister. They looked like King and Queen too, but now it was Ruby as the Queen and Crimson as her royal commander.” Twilight answered.

“I guess that I have to read the book, huh?” Pound said.

Twilight nodded vigorously. “Yes, yes, you need to. But I should really stop on spoiling the fun of it. I mean, I already covered their early childhood and the shadows next to Dragamoria.”

For some reason, Twilight’s talk with Crimson and Ruby Bloodstone made Pound think of his relationship with him and her twin sister, Pumpkin. Crimson was a level-headed cold stallion with a sense of justice, but a brutal bloodlust bottled up inside of him. He had a few traits similar to the Commander of the Red Mist Legion. Sort of. The only thing in common was the twin thing actually. But the story of the twin Bloodstones made him realize something.

It was the wavering gap between the bond between brother and sister.

Ponies believed that Crimson and Ruby had a close bond together. Same thing with him and Pumpkin. But the reason why Crimson denied the seat to the throne was because they had different ideals and creed. He knew that if he was seated next to his sister, it would divide them even further.

“Were Crimson and Ruby’s relationship stable?” Pound asked, “I want to know the outcome of it.”

“Stable? Er, well, no. They never really had one in the first place. They were pretty much strangers to each other, but they stuck together since they were siblings. Crimson protected Ruby due to this.” Twilight paused. “Which is why it’s more the reason more why she fell in love with him.” she said with a sly smile on her face.

“W-What?” Pound asked, now dumbfounded.

“I really wanted you to discover it yourself, but yes, Ruby fell in love with her brother even with a relationship they never had. Of course, they were blood related and all, but incest was common amongst royalty back then.” Twilight took a deep breath and continued. “Once he also developed feelings for her, the Flayed Twins, the Scourge of Bloodshed, the Bloodstones had sexual intercourse with each other.”

Pound pulled back his thoughts on his relationship with Pumpkin like the Bloodstones. They were like nothing alike at all.

“Isn’t history fascinating?” Twilight gleamed.

“Y-Y-Yes...”

“And to think that history could unfold like a drama!” she squealed, clapping her hands. “Ooh! If you’re interested in anything like that, I have a ton of romance novels that interestingly take the same spin on the Bloodstones! Coincidence? I think not!”

“Twilight, that reminds me. I have a question about Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.”

“Oh, I do too, I want to ask them why they took Spike and-”

“No, not to them. Just about them.”

“Oh.” Twilight said. “Okay. Ask away.”

“Have you talked to Princess Luna lately?” he asked.

“Only barely a few times over letters. And she rarely comes over with Princess Celestia to the library because she says she has ‘better things to do’. But to answer your question, no, I haven’t talked to her lately.” Twilight said, “Why do you ask?”

“Just curious. I’ve only seen Princess Luna on show ups for a few seconds for the past few years at events. And something tells me that something’s going on. I think.” Pound contemplated on what he had just said. “Nah, that was stupid of me to say. I was just overthinking it.”

Twilight giggled. “Oh, you’re just so cute when you think like that,” she said, pinching his cheeks. Pound blushed at her soft fingers when it made contact with his face. But her smile quickly died down to a sad one. She let go of his cheek. “Pound, is it okay if I talk about a few things?”

“I mean, yeah,” he said sheepishly. “Isn’t that why we’re talking?” Her touch upon his cheek let him into a small daze, but he quickly recovered.

“When you started to come by the library, it really got me thinking. Years have passed and I’m growing old.” she said. “Hell, I can’t even take care of myself and I depend on Spike for everything. It’s sad, isn’t it?” Twilight’s eyes gazed upon the ground. “W-When you were asleep, I decided to clean up parts of the library myself. But… But…” She fell silent. “I feel like I’ve been using you as Spike all this time. Especially with the shower since I give him one every single day.”

“Spike still takes a shower?” Pound asked. “In that tub? How?”

Twilight smiled. “I guess old habits die hard.”

“Twilight, why are you being so serious all of the sudden?” Pound asked. “I mean, I don’t mean to be insensitive, but I loved it when we were talking about the Ruby Age and stuff. Is something heavy on your mind?”

He tilted his head. Sure, Twilight’s a bit klutzy, but that’s how he always remembered her. The smart Twilight with Spike by her side, her assistant. He was a bit baffled that Twilight was so dependent on him, but what baffled him even more was this change of heart. What prompted this change in Twilight?

“Have I been acting like an idiot?” she asked.

“What?”

“I feel like I’ve been acting like an idiot.” Twilight blushed and placed a hand near her stomach. She was carrying his baby.

Pound blushed himself upon Twilight’s changing expression. “Well, I-I, I don’t think so.”

“Now that I think about it, I felt chained. I felt shackled to these daily habits over and over again. All these friendship problems and research in my spare time. I fell victim. A slave to habit. I was too keen on sticking to a schedule.” Her horn lit up in magic, bringing forth a long list on parchment. “Do you see this?” she asked.

“Yeah, it’s so long I don’t see the end,” Pound said.

“It was a list of things to do tomorrow,” Twilight replied.

Pound gulped. “Are you saying-”

“I’m saying that from this moment, I’m going to change myself,” Twilight said, “I don’t want to waste anymore time like this.” Her horn sparkled, setting the long list ablaze. With a pop, the parchment combusted.

“See? Fresh and new.” she said.

“Uh, Twilight?”

“The fire purified my bad habits.”

“Twilight, the library’s on fire!!” Pound exclaimed, watching the crackling flames slowly consume the wooden floor.

“Oh no! Ohnononono!”

9:56pm

“Pound?” Twilight asked, floating from a pool of water.

“Yes?” Pound replied, floating next to her.

“Am I an idiot?”

“Yes. Yes you are.”

She giggled. “You’re honest. And yeah, I was a giant idiot.”

The two floated in the water for a moment before Twilight spoke again. “Pound, are you going to help me out tomorrow?”

“Of course I’m going to.” he replied

“Then why are you being silent?” she asked.

“”I’m wondering where the water came from.”

“It came from my horn.”

“Why did you magically summon water?”

“I panicked.”

“What about the books?’

“Each of them are magically charmed to be immune from water. My water.”

“Has this happened before?”

“Yeah.”

“Twilight,” Pound said, “ Do you have any more spare clothes?”

“I think so.”

10:07pm

“See, it isn’t that hard picking out your clothes,” Pound said. He paused. “Is there a reason why you had Spike pick yours out?” He now wore a new set of clothes, free of deep moisture. Another plain white t-shirt and shorts were found in Shining Armor’s clothes drawer.

“Well,” Twilight said, “Many years ago, I implemented this system so I could be efficient in my studies. It actually worked out pretty well.”

“At least you didn’t forget how to put your clothes on,” Pound said.

Twilight gave a sheepish grin.

“You’re kidding me, right?”

“I may have once forgot a little while ago when I was booked with planning Shining Armor and Cadence’s wedding years ago.” she said. “Ah, that takes me way back!”

Pound secretly hoped that she forgot how to put her own clothes on. He shook his head to get rid of that thought. “But it’s impressive that the library dry as a bone again.” The water that Twilight summoned was now no more. “How’d you do it?”

“You’re looking at a unicorn with more than 34-years of magic training!” Twilight boasted. Her face soon fell with her own statement. Thirty-four… She got onto her knees in despair.

“Whoa, hey Twilight!” Pound said, trying to bring her back. “You still look great! You could say you’re around 20-years old!” he said, placing a hand on her back. “Just don’t think too hard on your age!”

“But I’m old, Pound,” Twilight mumbled, “And no spells can really help me from here. Magic doesn’t solve my problems.”

“I mean, I don’t mind if you’re older than me,” Pound said, “The point is, you look great. You don’t look a day over 20.”

“Y-You really think so?” she asked.

“Well, uh, by looking at your body and everything, yeah,” Pound said, blushing a little and looking away.

“So, what do you think about my body?” she asked, curious of Pound’s opinions. Watching him look away from her made her a little bit excited. Twilight popped her chest out and turned around “Well?” she asked.

Twilight wore a loose baggy t-shirt and striped panties. And she knew full well that Pound knew she wasn’t wearing a bra.

“Twilight, that begs another question. Are you comfortable around me just wearing panties?” he asked, still looking away.

Pound again, regret his decision. Twilight always seemed to be open about these things. And if he brought them up, she wouldn’t do it agai-

“Doesn’t Pinkie Pie and Pumpkin wear just panties around the house too?” Twilight asked.

Pound fell silent. “Yeah…”

“Honestly, I find it very comfortable when I just wear panties.” Twilight said. “I just hope I don’t make you uncomfortable.”

“I-I don’t mind,” Pound said. He was flustered. Twilight took notice of this and couldn’t help but tease him more. Especially what she did a few hours before to him. Pound’s male instinct was slowly kicking in. She knew this by her own body reacting to him.

“Then we should go to sleep,” Twilight said, “It’s getting late and we have a big day ahead of us.” She repressed her urges and headed towards her bed. “Good night Pound.” She quickly skipped away.

“Y-Yeah, good night,” Pound replied, still blushing from Twilight’s chatter. Was she flirting with him? Was she always just like this? Sure, Twilight was always oblivious, but he was just so turned on right now. “I-I’ll just go ahead and sleep in the guest room.”

Next thing he knew, his face was scrunched on top of Twilight’s bed. Dazed and confused, he rattled underneath the covers to meet Twilight’s nervous face. “Hi,” she said with a weak smile. “The guest room is… really dirty.” She began to sweat profusely, remembering that she dumped the cum covered sheets in that room. Twilight got excited thinking about it and tried hard not to be turned on.

Pound himself, a few feet away from Twilight was very turned on. He subtly hid his boner underneath the sheets. He started to panic. If he stood, Twilight would see his erection.

Twilight started to panic. She had no other rooms for Pound and her bed was the only bed left in the library. She bit her bottom lip. “Hey Pound,” she nervously said, “Y-You wouldn’t mind if you slept with me tonight, right?” Her face was bright red. “I mean, it’s my fault for not cleaning up the guest room, so, you can sleep here.”

Was this a dream come true?

Sleeping next to Twilight?

Just the thought of it fueled Pound’s penis. His shorts pitched very heavily, his penis becoming harder than a rock. There was no way he would turn that offer down/

Twilight thought hard not to think what could happen and just gave a smile. A very weak smile.

“Yeah, sure, if you don’t mind me at all,” Pound said, rubbing the back of his head. He watched Twilight gingerly slide into the bed. Now it was his turn. He made his way over to the other side and slipped in. His buttcheeks were at the mere edge of the bed, but he didn’t want to get close to Twilight.

Twilight on the other hand, was thinking the same thing. She made a promise with herself last night she wouldn’t do anything. But at this point, she felt like she was about to go crazy.

“G-Good night, Twilight,” Pound managed to say.

“Y-Yeah, you too,” Twilight replied.

10:10pm

It was a very long night.
