Chapter 1

Chapter 1

"Well, it's quite simple. Twilight?" Celestia looked to her pupil, who instantly perked up hearing her name, "Do you still remember that certain spell, Twilight?”

“Wait, you don’t mean that you’re actually going to do that, are you?” Twilight looked shocked and perplexed at the same time as she stared open mouthed at Celestia. “But, I cant even perform that spell!”

Celestia looked sternly at her student. “Twilight, You’re lucky you even know about that spell. Only you, Luna, and myself know about it.”

“Yes, princess, but that still doesn’t fix the fact that I can’t perform it.” Twilight was looking confused, even scared at this point.

“Exactly why I will perform it, Twilight. You know what to do.” Celestia looked over to the rest of the ponies and said, “You will return to our world now. Rainbow Dash will be there shortly.”

“Yes princess.” And with that, Twilight walked over to Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and the others and her horn glowed. In a blinding flash of light, they were gone. Only Celestia, Dashie and myself remained.

“Rainbow Dash.” Celestia spoke to Dashie softly. You will be going back to our world now.”

“NO!” Dashie jumped from where she sat in her recliner and hugged me tightly. “I don’t want to leave you!”

“Relax, Rainbow Dash,” Celestia was wearing a grim expression at this point.

“Relax? RELAX!?” Dashie had tears running down her face now. “How can I relax when I’m about to be taken away from my father? At least let me say goodbye!” She was talking through a flow of tears now.

“Don’t worry. There will be no need for farewells.” Celestia now had a small smile.

“What?” Dashie sniffed as she looked up at Celestia in astonishment.

“Without another word she touched her horn to Dashie and in a blinding flash of light,

Dashie was gone. Only Celestia and I remained.

“Sit down.” Celestia had a smile now.

“Do you enjoy this world?”

“What?”

“Do you enjoy this world?”

“Well, I guess, so, but I-”

“Do you enjoy your life?”

“Well now that Rainbow Dash is gone, no, but-”

“Do you wish to come to our world?”

There was a long pause.

“You’re kidding. Right?”

“I do not ‘kid’.”

“Well if you’re serious, yes. But why?”

“Not another word. Oh, and, you might want to stand up.” I did so, not completely understanding why quite just yet. Instead of moving her head forward to touch my forehead, as I had expected, She stood to her full height and pointed her horn straight up. There was a blinding light that illuminated the whole room.

When the light faded, there was no furniture, pictures, or any evidence that anyone had lived in this house in a very long while. I now knew why she advised that I stood, as I would’ve fallen backwards when the couch disappeared.

“The house is now for sale, you have resigned from your job, and all of your friends and co-workers that know you know that you will be moving to Italy for the rest of your life. Most of the belongings that you would have taken with you have been packed.” Celestia looked around the room and then back at me. “I think that I have tended to all things. Are you ready?”

I stood there for a long while with my mouth hanging open, looking into the eyes of the sun goddess.

“Oh yes, I’ve almost forgotten. Do you wish to perform magic?”

“Not in particular, no.”

“Very well. Dou wish to stay as-is?”

“Not really…”

“Do you wish to fly?”

There was another long pause. I think I understood what she was getting at now.

“Yes.”

“Rainbow Dash is waiting. Shall we go now?”

“Yes, I suppose I’m ready…”

“Well then, lets be off.” And with that, she touched her horn to my forehead and a blinding light filled my head. Warmth spread through every inch on my body as I collapsed to the floor-with no pain-and then had the sensation of falling asleep while hovering in mid-air. Almost as if I were on a… a cloud…

----------

I woke up. I kept my eyes shut tight, afraid that it was all a dream. Then again It wouldn’t be at all bad if it was a dream. I would be back with Dashie, and continue the joyous times that I shared with her. Then again, I could’ve been knocked out when Celestia ‘teleported’ Dashie. But then, how could I be in bed?

I cracked my left eye just a little bit. What greeted me was Dashie’s smile. I leapt from bed, practically crying with joy.

“Dashie! I was afraid that I would… never see you… ever again…!” I was crying through my tears and laughing at the same time.

“I thought so too, dad! I only found that you were gonna be here when Twilight told me after I arrived!”

“Wait… did you just say… that… I was going to… be, here? But… where’s… Here?

I looked around trying to take in what I was seeing all at the same time. Only now did I bother to notice where I was. Everything looked animated, but, real, in some way.

“Do you mean to tell me that I am in… your world? Dashie?

“Yep! And boy do I have a surprise for you!”

“What do you mean?”

“Just follow me.” She then led me down a short hall first, a door on the left that looked like Dashie’s room. I couldn’t help but notice that the ceilings were a bit low. Then, to the right, a flight of stairs downward to what looked like a kitchen. She then led me to a doorway to the left that was a bathroom. Dashie and I stood side by side, in front of a mirror. Only now did I notice that I was the same height as Dashie. Because when I looked into the mirror, what met my eyes nearly knocked me backwards. I was a Pegasus pony, a medium-brown coat with a black mane. I was shocked to find that I had not felt that I was walking on four legs and bearing a pair of wings.

“So? What do you think?” Dashie said as she hopped up and down excitedly. A bit like Pinkie Pie, I thought, smiling to myself.

“I… But how could… Wow…” I was lost for words. Right now I felt like running to Celestia and thanking her until she ordered me to stop.

“YES!” I yelled as I leapt up for joy.

“WAIT! You Don’t want to-”

I smashed my head painfully against the ceiling when I jumped.

“-jump…” Dashie started to giggle as I sat on the floor rubbing my head.

“How did that happen?”

“You took flight when you jumped. Even though you haven’t learned to fly yet, it’s a natural reflex to fly when you jump.” Dashie explained.

“Oh, well, I’ll never do that again.” I felt quite embarrassed at this point as I stood back up.

“So, where are we, anyway?”

“In my house.”

“Well, where’s you’re house?”

“In the sky.”

It took a little while for what Dashie said to sink in.

“Are you saying that we’re in a house… Oh! made of clouds!” (I knew this from seeing Dashie’s house in episode 5.)

“Yes! How’d you know?”

“I saw from the show.” Oh no. The words had left my mouth before I even knew what I was saying. I wasn’t sure how she would respond, but I knew it wouldn’t be good.

“What show?” She said.

I sighed a huge sigh of relief. Apparently she had gotten her memory of the show erased.

“Nothing, I was just thinking of something else.”

“Oh, well alright then.”

“Hey, Dashie?”

“Yeah?”

“I was just wondering, how do I get down from your house if I don’t know how to fly?”

Her smile faded a little as she thought it through with a puzzled expression.

“Gee, I never thought of that. But what I did think of was this.” She led me downstairs, through the kitchen, and out onto a large, ‘balcony.’ It had no railings, was made of clouds, (like the rest of the house,) and was so large that Dashie referred to it as her ‘yard.’

“You can practice flying here. If it takes you too long, I might be able to carry you down to Ponyville.”

“Nah, I’ll just try to fly.”

I walked out onto the ‘lawn’ and spread my wings. I wasn’t entirely sure what to do, so I just started flapping my wings. To my surprise, I rose from the ground three feet or so. I tried flying around a little bit, and found it quite easy.

“How’d you learn to do that?” Dashie asked.

“I don’t know, it just comes to me. I know I had to teach you to fly and it took you a good week or two.”

“I know! That’s what I was trying to figure out by asking you! So… you want to go down to Ponyville now? I’ve got some friends I’d like you to meet.”
