Prequel to The Powers of Harmony.

One thousand years ago, Princess Luna exposed herself to the Chaos magic that linked her to the moon and transformed into the terrifying abomination known as Nightmare Moon. She then stole the Elements of Harmony, used the Element of Loyalty to corrupt half the Equestrian Army, and declared war on Celestia for control of Equestria.

What followed was the War of the Sun and Moon, a two year war filled with pain, death, blood, suffering, and destruction. Celestia's forces were battered and outnumbered, but each time they managed to drive back Nightmare Moon's bloodthirsty hordes thanks largely to the efforts of twelve noble knights. These knights, known as the Order of the Zodiac, were Celestia's lynchpin in the conflict, and their noble deeds helped to push the war in their favor.

Their deeds were once lost to time, but as the shadows of the past rise up to consume the present, their stories and sacrifices may be revealed to all.
