kh commands v0.1

MLP-KH Command/Magic/Ability/Drive/Limit List

First, some terminology and explanation.

-HP: A character's health. In typical KH, if the party leader is reduced to 0 HP, the game is over. However, in this, the party leader can be switched on demand,

so game over is only obtained when all current party memebers are reduced to 0 HP.

-AUTO-REVIVE: Defeated party members will automatically revive after 30 seconds, though with only 1 HP and in MP Charge (unless Abilities say otherwise.)

-CRITICAL MODE: Occurs when a party member's HP falls below 25%. They will say an "I need help" quote, their portrait will look tired and flash red.

Certain Abilities will only function while in Critical Mode.

-COMMAND: Special attacks avaliable to a character. Consists of pure physical attacks, physical-magical hybrids, and certain, esoteric types of spells.

Does not use any MP, but instead each skill as a recharge time after use before it can be used again.

-MAGIC: Exactly what it sounds like. Magical spells that have little-to-no physical influence. Can be used without pause, as long as enough MP is remainin.

-MP: Magic points. If a spell costs more MP than is avaliable, it can be cast, but will be at a lower power, and when MP is reduced to 0 through this or

any means, MP Charge is triggered.

-MP CHARGE: If MP becomes 0, then a timer starts, after which MP is restored to full. During this time, any MP-restoring effects instead reduce the timer.

By default, the timer is 15 seconds, though this can be changed by Abilities.

-ABILITY: Passive effects that are always active once acquired. Simple as that.

-DRIVE: A super-form that a character can enter. In this form, their entire fighting style can change, often becoming dramatically more powerful, and gaining

access to new, often unique, Commands and Abilities. (new Magic isn't learned, but existing spells are often dramatically powered up in some way.)

-DRIVE FORCE/POINTS: Keeps track of Drive energy. Refills very slowly by landing attacks. Once Drive mode is entered, the meter depletes rapidly,

ending the transformation when it runs out. Drive cannot be entered if the meter isn't full, even if the last Drive was ended

     early.

-LIMIT: Extremely-powerful, character-specific attacks. Very potent, but only rarely usable. There are two ways to trigger a limit: MP, and Critical Mode. While

in Limit Mode, the Starter is performed first, then the player can freely choose which Limit Commands to perform (no other actions can be taken during

this time, however.) After a maximum of six commands, or a time limit of twenty seconds, the Finisher is performed automatically, and the Limit ends.

-MP LIMIT: Instantly consumes all remaining MP to trigger a Limit. Power of the limit is directly based on the percentage of current MP when activated.

Power drops if less than 100% MP is used. MP Charge is not entered until the Limit is complete.

-CRITICAL LIMIT: When a character is in Critical Mode, they can perform a single Limit at no MP cost. Once used, a Critical Limit cannot be used again for

30 seconds. Critical Limits can never be dual Limits.

-DUAL LIMIT: A Limit performed with two or more characters. Unique and very, very powerful, but requires specific characters in the party, and all involved

must have full MP, which will be consumed. Often several orders of magnitude more powerful than standard Limits.

-LIMIT STARTER: The attack used when a Limit is first triggered; the "opener" attack of the limit.

-LIMIT COMMANDS: A command exclusive to a Limit. Every party involved has a single Limit Command if there is more than one; otherwise the sole performer

has two avaliable. The player can trigger them as many times and in any order they wish. Once a maximum of six (6) Limit Commands are

performed, the Finisher is performed immediately afterwards.

-LIMIT FINISHER: The final command of a Limit, always the most powerful and flashy. The Limit ends immediately afterwards.

*As Dash, Twilight, and AJ fight bands of heartless on the arena floor, Laguna watches from teh command tower, leaning back in his chair, Pinkie is not in the room*

Laguna: These girls are kicking some serious hindquarters down there! Maybe we ought to...turn it up a notch?

*He leans forward and twists a knob on the panel, only for it to get stuck.*

Laguna: Huh? Aw, man, I knew I shouldn't have spilt soda on this thing.

*fiddles with the knob, before it suddenly snaps off*

Laguna: *staring at it, as alarms start to go off* Uh oh...

*Pinkie sudden comes in through the door behind them, holding a back of popcorn. As the door bursts open, Laguna jumps and faces her, blocking the broken panel*

Laguna: U-Um, everything's fine! Yep, nothing wrong here!

Pinkie: Hey, what's with all the loud noises and flashing lights? You didn't tell me you were throwing a party!

*Heartless start gathering in the hall behind her.*

Laguna: Oh crap...

Pinkie: *turns around* OHMIGOSH! Heartless?! But, I thought those things wer-

(Laguna grabs his gun off the panel and rushes towards the door as she speaks, Man with the Machine Gun starts)

Laguna: Don't worry, I can fix this! It's all under control!

(Laguna tries to spin and slide into a combat position facing the heartless, but skids on a rug instead and crashes into the wall. He quickly climbs to his feet as Pinkie rushes to his side, keyblade in mouth.)

Laguna: Uhhh, I meant to do that.

(The two take their combat stances facing the heartless, and battle begins.)

(Battle Information: Defeat the heartless and reach the Arena Floor!)

(Heartless defeated, Laguna and Pinkie approach a turn)

Laguna: Haha, we beat those guys, no problem!

(They turn the corner to find a very large heartless blocking the corridor, and stop in their tracks, looking up at it.)

Laguna: Aww, man, that's just not fair!

(Suddenly, AJ cuts down the heartless from behind as she, Dash, and Twilight meet up with the duo.)

AJ: What in the hay's goin' on, Laguna?! If this's yer idea of a challenge, you-

Laguna: (Interrupting) Hey, hey, in my defence...I didn't know the knob would break off.

Twilight: Knob? *shakes head* Whatever! We've got trouble! There are heartless running all over the place now!

Laguna: Yeah...bummer. Guess the tournament's gonna have to be called off, huh?

Dash: Doesn't matter, I was winning anyways.

AJ: Like hay you were! I was the one wh-

Twilight: Focus, you two! Laguna, is there some way to stop all these heartless?

Laguna: *thinks* Hmm...

(Twilight, AJ, Dash, and Pinkie all look at him expectantly for several seconds.)

Laguna: *scratches the back of his head* ...I have no idea.

(The ponies groan)

Twilight: Well, Fluttershy and Rarity and trying to lock down the doors to the arena, maybe that will at least slow them down. Come on, let's go help!

Laguna: Alright, sounds like a plan! *points heroically* ONWARD!

Dash: Hey, don't go acting all heroic, you're the one who did all this in the first place!

Laguna: *scratches head again* Yeah, yeah, I get it already, now can we stop pointing fingers...er, hooves...whatever! And go beat up these heartless already?

(AJ, Twilight, and Dash join the group. Player resumes control on the field.)

Silent Ponyville: Fracture

The mind is a strange and sometimes frightening place. Even in this age, it is still not fully understood. While the science of the mind has progressed far, there is still much that science has not, and possibly may never, be able to explain.

Perhaps one of the most prominent examples is in the case of abnormal psychological condition and one's perceptions; the way the mind perceives and interprets events has a tendency to be directly linked to an individual's mental stability and integrity. In cases of abnormality, perceptions can be altered or warped. In the majority of cases, this is typically limited to simply adding positive or negative connotations to situations or circumstances where they do not normally apply. However, in very rare cases, a mind can suffer such trauma that it is broken beyond mere abnormality. Severe trauma, of any sort, can cause lasting psychological damage if no help is sought. In most cases, help comes eventually. But, this is not always the case. For some, help isn't an option. For one reason or another, it is beyond their ability.

And so they repress. Repression gives them comfort, allows them to forget and persevere. They can move on with their lives. Perhaps their personality will be altered, perhaps they exaggerate their positive traits as a means of coping, perhaps they come off as odd, or unusual, or random, but for the most part, they are able to function normally for a time.

However, repression does not erase the trauma. The memories lie deep inside, hidden from view where they can do no immediate harm, but still they lurk there, festering, eating away at the victim's psyche – and over time, the memories begin to resurface.

Recall that an individual's perceptions are directly tied to their psychological stability. Recall that in cases of abnormality, perceptions can be warped. Now, what then would happen in these rare, extreme cases? What happens when the buried, forgotten, and shattered memories claw their way to the surface once again?  When the broken mind, long blissfully-veiled in amnesia, is forced to recall the trauma that broke it to begin with? When the illusion of happiness and normalcy begins to falter, when the mental barriers finally begin to fail, and the nightmares begin?

And what if it doesn't end at nightmares? The inner workings of the mind are still not fully understood, and it is entirely plausible that severe enough damage could go beyond mere nightmares. What happens when the individual's fears begin to become her reality? When the world around her begins to take the shape of her night terrors, when the things she has long trusted to be safe and comforting begin to lose their friendliness, when the twisted, unnameable horrors born of a fragmented mind begin to stalk her from the shadows of her own home, and the stares of the ones she cares for most, even the one she loves, seem to be forever upon her, silently accusing her of things they could not possibly know, waiting for the moment to drag her out of the safety of ignorance and thrust her face-to-face with the fears rooted deep inside her?

What happens when the real world and the inner world collide, and she is trapped in the living hell of her own fractured psyche?

1st Scene

“Awake”

(Scene: Pinkie is walking up a grassy hill at night, a lantern in her mouth illuminating the dark path. Her expression is one of solemn anxiety, somewhere between anticipation and fear. On the crest of the hill in front of her, lit by the moon, is Dash, sitting facing away from her and looking out towards the moon. Pinkie carefully but steadily walks up towards her.)

Pinkie: Dashie...? Is that you...?

(As she approaches, Dash turns around to face her...and appears completely normal. Dash smiles warmly at her.)

Dash: Hey, Pinkie. I was wondering when you'd get here.

Pinkie (lets out a sigh of relief): Dashie...

(Pinkie walks up and sits next to her, looking at the full moon hanging over a dimly-lit ocean, spread as far as the eye can see. The two sit there and watch the ocean waves for a time.)

Pinkie: Dashie? Why are we here?

Dash: I like coming here. It helps me forget.

Pinkie: ...forget?

Dash: Yeah. Forget what happened.

Pinkie: Why? What happened, Dashie?

(Dash is silent for a panel, then turns to look at Pinkie, Dash's face wearing a small, but warm, smile.

Dash: Hey Pinkie...why'd you do it?

Pinkie: Why did I...(terrified realization) oh, no...Dashie, please don't...

Dash (Never losing that small smile): Why?

(Pinkie's eyes go wide and fearful, and three panels zoom in on one of them. In them, Dash's reflection is visible the same as it was in the previous panels; however, in the final panel, Dash's reflection in Pinkie's eye has the appearance of a corpse, her coat matted with blood and her eyes milky white, and a knife blade buried in her head. Her mouth is open in a cry of anguish. The word FORGIVE appears in harsh, blunt, widely-spaced lettering and no punctuation at the top third of the panel.)

(Scene: Pinkie darts awake in her bed at Sugar Cube Corner. Her eyes are dark and bloodshot, as if she hasn't slept well in a long time. Her expression is at first terrified, but soon settles into a mixture of pain and sadness, as she curls up on the bed, tearing softly. FRACTURED: BALLAD OF PINKAMENA is imprinted on the final panel in stylized font.)

Pinkie (mentally): Why won't they just stop...?

---------------------------------------------------------

2nd Scene

“Concern”

(Scene: Pinkie is in the kitchen of Sugar Cube Corner, washing her face in the sink. She looks exhausted. The entire room is a mess; there are dirty dishes and the remnants of baking ingredients everywhere. Despite this, there isn't a single baked good on any of the shelves; it looks as if they've all been hastily thrown out. Dash and Twilight approach from outside, their voices audible.)

Dash: I hope so...she's getting worse.

Twilight: Sounds like she's awake already...either that or she didn't sleep again.

(The two enter and Pinkie walks clumsily over to greet them. She's a wreck; her steps are awkward, her smile weak, her usual vibrant energy all but absent.)

Pinkie: Hi Twilight, hi Dashie. Sorry the place is a mess; I haven't really gotten around to cleaning up yet. Just been a little busy, I guess! (she beams a withered smile at them. Dash and Twilight exchange looks of concern.)

Dash: Pinkie, we...

Twilight: We're really worried about you. I know you keep telling us not to, but...you're not getting any better.

Pinkie: Oh, don't be silly, Twilight! I'm still Ponyville's premiere party pony! I've just had a little trouble sleeping, that's all! (she forces out a weak, hollow chuckle. Dash and Twilight both seem sad.)

Twilight: Pinkie, listen...I know whatever it is, you don't want to talk about it, but...

Dash: Pinkie, I – we – all care about you a lot. If something's wrong, you gotta tell us. We can help you!

(Pinkie shakes her head softly.)

Pinkie: Nothing's wrong, Dashie, really! I just need some sleep. (She forces another empty smile. Twilight and Dash look at each other again.)

Twilight: Pinkie...Dash and I have been talking, and-

Dash (interrupting): Pinkie, why don't you come live with me for a while? Twilight still knows the cloudwalking spell an-

(Pinkie's eyes go wide with fear again.)

Pinkie (panicked): NO!

(Dash looks visibly pained by this.)

Pinkie: I mean, I'd like to, but...I promised the Cakes I'd watch the store for them! (she looks sullen) Sorry, Dashie...

(The other two look unconvinced. This obviously sounds like an excuse. Dash hangs her head lower.)

Twilight (resignation): Well...if you say so...

(Twilight starts to leave, but Dash lingers.)

Dash: Pinkie...I love you. You'd tell me if something was wrong...right?

(Pinkie looks away.)

Pinkie: Dashie, I love you too...I...

(Silence. Dash turns and follows Twilight, her eyes closed.)

(Overview panel of the room, with Pinkie laying depressed on the floor of the now-empty Corner.)

Pinkie: I'm sorry...Dashie...

(A moment later, a shadow is seen next to Pinkie.)

? (coldly): Well, well...alone again, are we...?

-----------------------------------------

3rd Scene

“Secrecy”

(Scene: Dash and Twilight walking back towards the library after the previous scene. It's daylight out.)

Twilight (sighs): I guess there's nothing to do but wait. Pinkie has her reasons for keeping her secrets. I'm sure she'll tell us when she's re-

(Interrupted by Dash angrily kicking a mailbox. Twilight looks at her in alarm.)

Twilight: Dash! What are you doing?!

Dash (angered): Why won't she tell me anything, Twi? I love her, for Celestia's sake...and she still won't tell me anything! How the hay can I help her if she just won't...(fighting back tears)

Twilight (comforting): It's not your fault, Dash. You know she loves you too. Whatever her reasons, I'm sure she'll ask for our help when she needs it.

Dash (hurt): She needs it now, Twi! Didn't you see her back there? No hyperactivity, no bouncing around, no constant stream of chatter...something's wrong and she won't tell us what it is!

Twilight: I know you're worried about her, Rainbow Dash, we all are, but we have to respect-

Dash: To hay with your respect! If she won't tell us what's wrong, then I guess she doesn't care about us enough to tell us anymore!

Twilight: Dash, that's insane! Don't you remember everything you two went through? Everything all of us went through? You know Pinkie cares about all of us, especially you!

Dash (quietly, pained): Yeah, well...she's doing a pretty poor job of showing it.

Twilight (under her breath, with an edge of concern): She's not the only pony...

(They walk in silence to the library, where they part wordlessly.)

4th Scene

“Reminiscence”

(Scene: Nighttime. Pinkie is trudging up the stairs to her room in Sugarcube Corner, a lantern in her mouth. She nudges the door open and heads inside.)

? (false warmth): There you go. That's a good little pony. Come on in, get some rest. We're looking forward to seeing you back here again.

(Pinkie wordlessly climbs onto the bed but doesn't lay down, instead simply sitting there in silence.)

? (condescendingly): Aww, is the poor little heartbroken mare sulking again? You really should stop that, you know, it's bad for your health...

(No response. A form begins to materialize in the shadows of Pinkie's mirror, across the room.)

?: What would Dashie think if she could see you now? I don't think she'd be so keen on being seen in public with a big crybaby like you-

(Pinkie snatches a brush off her nightstand and angrily hurls it at the mirror)

Pinkie (angry): SHUT UP!

(The mirror shatters, the shadow dissipating as the shards of glass spill out onto the table and floor. Pinkie stares down for a time, her face semi-obscured by her long mane. A moment later, a figure appears beside her on the bed.

The figure is the spitting image of Pinkie, looking identical right down to the color, cutie mark, and even the long, flat mane and tail. Her voice was Pinkie's, there was no mistaking it. However, where Pinkie's cheerful smile would be, the doppelganger wore a thin, sinister smirk. Her eyes were icy and unforgiving. Her expression was one of cruel amusement, as if she was privy to some horrible joke at the expense of whoever she was speaking to. Her voice was devoid of anything resembling kindness or empathy.)

Pinkie?: Congratulations. You broke the mirror. (She leans in close to the real Pinkie, speaking more softly but no less menacingly in her ear) Does that make you feel better? Does it make you feel strong? Like you actually have some kind of control over me? (She lets out a frigid chuckle.) Well, I'm still here, aren't I?

(Pinkie lays down and covers her face with her hooves.)

Pinkie (sadly and desperately): Please, just...just go away...

Pinkie?: Oh, no, Pinkamena. I won't 'just go away.' I'll be right here with you, all night, until you finally drift off to sleep and join us once again...(her voice dripping pure venom) we've got SUCH a great party planned for tonight, I'm just positive you'll love it...

(Pinkie flings herself off the bed and snatches up the lantern again, desperately fumbling to light it.)

Pinkie? (right behind her again): And here we go again. Honestly, Pinkamena, you're becoming so predictable...but then again, I know you better than anyone else, don't I?

(Ignoring her, Pinkie finally gets the lantern lit and rushes out of the room and down the stairs as fast as she can. She flies out the front door and locks it behind her, heading off down the path with as much haste as she can muster.

The alternate Pinkie appears in front of a bush as Pinkie approaches it.)

Pinkie?: So where is our little mare running off to tonight, hmm? Going to go pout outside the library again? Or maybe Fluttershy's lake? (As Pinkie leaves the bush behind, alternate Pinkie now appears reclining on a bench ahead of her.) Or, maybe you'll just go and stare up at Dashie's home again. I wonder what runs through that pretty little head of yours whenever you see that gorgeous coat of hers...oh, wait, I already know. (Now she appears again in front of Pinkie, leaning against a lightpost.) Seeing that coat, those wings, and that wonderfully-perfect cutie mark...I bet it gives you some ideas that would put Rarity's fashion to shame...doesn't it?

(Pinkie is practically running now, fighting back tears, the lantern shaking around wildly with her haste. Some time later, she is on a path leading outside of town, her pace slowed now, her breathing hard as she exhausts herself trying to flee her ever-present tormentor's verbal assault. She trots along now at a slow, winded pace. Alternate Pinkie stands just off the path ahead of her, watching her approach with an expression of mock-realization.)

Pinkie?: Oh, Pinkamena, the ravine again, is it? You so desperately cling to your old 'happy' memories. It makes me retch.

(A short while later, Pinkie is standing on the edge of a deep ravine, staring into its depths. This is the ravine where, so long ago, Rainbow Dash saved Pinkie's life, first igniting the spark within Pinkie that would later bloom into love for the technicolor mare.)

Pinkie (tearing up softly): Dashie...

(Alt. Pinkamena stands beside her, her expression as cold as before.)

Pinkie?: You know it can't last. Even though you try to hide it, you just know one day she'll be gone, off with another stallion or mare. And why wouldn't she? She's one of the most athletic and beautiful pegasi in Cloudsdale; in ALL of Equestria, really.. She could have anypony she wanted; why would she settle for a weak, annoying, obsessive, and obnoxious little earth pony?

Pinkie (softly): ...you don't know Dashie...

Pinkie? (fake strain): I'm sorry, what was that? Pinkamena, how long will you keep deluding yourself? This “love” you keep clinging to is finite, and it's running out of steam. Face it: someday Dashie's going to meet a pony who's just as athletic and strong and brave as she is, and then it's over. You? You're just a go-between, a temporary fling to pass the time.

Pinkie (softly, but with more determination): Shut up...

Pinkie?: Oh please. You know how much she loves the Wonderbolts; just wait until she joins. Spending so much time with those ace fliers? Doing stunt shows with them, earning fame throughout Equestria? How long do you think it'd take before she starts getting a little 'close' with some of the other 'Bolts? Before she runs off with one of her fillyhood heroes and leaves you in the mud, where you belong?

Pinkie (more forcefully): Shut UP.

Pinkie?: Not to mention the throngs of fanponies that would give anything to have a chance with such a fit and beautiful mare like her...and why wouldn't she play the field a little? She can have any pony she wants, so why would she settle for a sad, pathetic, clumsy, irritating, worthless little-

Pinkie (loudly): SHUT UP! (she covers her ears and closes her eyes.) YOU DON'T KNOW DASHIE!

Pinkie? (with dim anger): Yell all you want, Pinkamena. I know you, remember? This love of yours is living on borrowed time. Deep down, you know I'm right...even if you won't admit, you know I'm right.

(Pinkie is silent. She stares into the ravine sadly. Alt. Pinkie smiles cruelly.)

Pinkie?: You could, you know. Just fix the mistake Dashie made in saving you back then. Nopony would stop you. Hay...nopony would even care.

(Pinkie just looks down and turns away, walking off. Tears fall out of her eyes as she trots softly back towards Ponyville. A chilly breeze begins to blow, and Pinkie shivers, though whether from the cold or her own suffering is unknown.)

Pinkie? (with faked disappointment): But of course you don't. You never do. But that's okay, Pinkamena. (whispering in her ear as she matches Pinkie's pace) Know why...?

(The scene pans out to show the wooded path as Pinkie begins the slow trek home, Alt Pinkie following closely.)

Pinkie?: Because we get to have another wonderful party tonight.

5th Scene

“Dejection”

(Scene: Dash is laying on her back on a cloud, staring up at the night sky. Her expression is distraught and slightly pained, yet pensive.)

Dash (mentally): Stupid Pinkie...why the hay won't she just come out and spill whatever's bugging her?

Can't even fly without worrying about her...

(She closes her eyes and thinks for a minute.)

Dash (mentally): Every time I've seen her like this, I got her to open up and we fixed things...Vinyl's party, that nightmare she had...but now she just won't tell me anything! (She grumbles.) Maybe she doesn't trust me or something...but that's stupid, why wouldn't she?

(She rolls onto her side and her expression takes on an extra tone of sadness.)

Dash (mentally, a bit worried): Maybe...maybe she doesn't love me anymore? (She shakes her head) No, no, that's stupid too! After everything that we've been through, I KNOW she loves me. Besides, I'm too awesome NOT to love! But then what the hay is wrong with her?!

(She remembers the events of earlier.)

Dash (mentally): She freaked out when I offered to have her live with me...did she get afraid of heights or something? Or...is she afraid of ME? (She shakes her head again.) But that doesn't make any sense. Why would she be afraid of me...? Maybe she's just intimidated...

(She feels a quick surge of pride.)

Dash (mentally): Yeah, that could be it. And why wouldn't she be? I'm THE top flier in Ponyville, hay, in Equestria, period! (A quick flash of indignation crossed her.) She's LUCKY to have me! If she can't appreciate that and just up and TELL me what her problem is, then...!

(Dash sighed, knowing her self-protests were pointless; it was just her injured pride talking.)

Dash (mentally, with sadness.): Oh, Pinkie, what's wrong with you? What's going on in that bubbly little head of yours that's so bad you can't even tell me about it?

(She sits up, with renewed determination.)

Dash (angrily): That's it! Forget Twi's little nice-nice way of doing things, I'm going to find out what's wrong with Pinkie if I have to kick it out of her!

6th Scene

“Morning”

(Scene: Pinkie lays on her back under the blankets. It's early morning. Her eyes are wide open and bloodshot, and she's staring blankly at the ceiling. Alt. Pinkamena is seen in the doorway to her room.)

Pinkie? (with a wide, evil smile): Well, good morning, dear, sweet Pinkamena. (No response.) I have to admit, you got pretty creative with that scalpel. Just a shame you remembered to gag her this time...it's just not as enjoyable without the screaming and sobbing and begging for her life... (Still no response. Alt. Pinkie lets out a hollow, sinister chuckle.) And that thing you did with the skull? Priceless! She was so far gone by then she thought she was talking to the real thing! (The chuckle dies down) Pity she didn't last very long after that. Oh well, you've got plenty of time to work on preservation, hmm? (She lets out a soft sigh.) See, Pinkamena? Deny it all you like, but you've got a real talent for this sort of thing. I can't WAIT to see what you come up with tonight...(Pinkie just rolls over to face away from her, bundling up under the blankets. She'd cry her eyes out, if she hadn't already done that throughout the night.)

(A loud rapping comes from the window. Alt. Pinkamena looks, but Pinkie does not move. Rainbow Dash is in the window, her face stern, looking all over the room and tapping on the window loudly. Alt. Pinkamena's smile widens.)

Pinkie?: Well, well! Look who came by for a visit. You can stop being mopey now, little miss sad-sack. (With notable disappointment) She's still alive.

Dash (muffled through the window, looking around inside): Pinkie Pie! You in there?! (raps on the window again)

(Pinkie just wraps the blanket around herself. Alt. Pinkamena sneers.)

Pinkie?: You're not even going to answer her? How rude. After everything you did last night you could at least-(Pinkie interrupts by grabbing a vase of flowers off her nightstand and hurls it at Alt. Pinkamena, who merely sighs. It passes right through her and shatters against the doorway. Dash looks at it in shock through the window.)

Dash (worriedly): Pinkie?! What's going on?! Pinkie! Let me in! Pinkie!

Pinkie? (deadpan): Smooth. Now you've got her riled up. At this rate she'll never go away.

(Dash flies back from the window, rears up, and charges through it, shattering the flimsy glass and getting her inside. Pinkie barely reacts, while Alt. Pinkamena scowls at Dash.)

Pinkie? (even though Dash can neither see nor hear her): What is wrong with you?! She didn't even bother to lock the door last night! Did you even bother to check it? Boneheaded little...

(Dash picks herself up off the floor, a bit cut-up but otherwise fine. She looks around the room; Alt. Pinkamena is nowhere to be found. Only Pinkie is lying in her bed, facing the ceiling and unmoving. Dash rushes over to her.)

Dash: Pinkie! Are you okay?!

(Pinkie just glances blankly at her for a moment and then turns away from her.)

Dash (grabbing her): Oh, no you don't, miss grumpy! (Pinkie struggles weakly, but quickly gives up. Dash drags her to the side of the bed and sits her up. Pinkie just stares downwards, her mane obscuring her face.) I'm through doing this the easy way! You're gonna tell me exactly what's going on, and I swear I'm not leaving until you do! Got it?! (Pinkie doesn't respond.) Look at me, Pinkie, I'm talking to you!

(Dash grabs Pinkie's head and forces her to lift it up, giving Dash sight of Pinkie's bloodshot, sleep-deprived face. Dash is momentarily thrown to how much worse she looks but quickly recovers with even stronger fury.)

Dash (furious): Okay, that's it! You're a wreck, Pinkie, and you're going to tell me EVERYTHING that happened last night to do this to you! So start talking!

(Pinkie is silent. Her eyes refuse to meet Dash's. Dash has no choice but to use her last resort.)

Dash (solemnly): Pinkie, if you ever really cared about me at all, if you ever really loved me, you'll tell me what's wrong.

Pinkie (barely audible, with deep sadness): ...I can't...

Dash (shakes her violently): WHY NOT?!?!

Pinkie: I just...I just can't...I'm sorry...Dashie...

Dash: Was it the nightmares again?! Answer me!

Pinkie: …

Dash: Pinkie!

Pinkie (softly): Dashie...

Dash (irritated): Yeah?

Pinkie: ...they won't stop, Dashie...

Dash (furious): Who cares?! Remember how desperate you were to keep them from coming true?! You fought them so-

Pinkie (interrupting, desperately): They're getting worse, Dashie!

Dash (even angrier): Pinkie, this is crazy! We both know you'll never be like that! You fought then and you're still fighting now! It doesn't MATTER how bad the dreams get, you'll NEVER be like that, because you're always fighting!

Pinkie (with deep resignation): Dashie, there's....there's more...

Dash (sighing agitatedly): What is it?

Pinkie (hesitantly): ...there's...another me...

Dash (disbelieving): 'Another you?' Just what the hay is that supposed to mean?

(Pinkie starts to sob a bit and leaps off the bed, hugging Dash tightly)

Pinkie (crying): She's everywhere, Dashie, and she keeps saying the meanest, nastiest things, and she keeps dragging me back into the nightmares and saying that they're going to come true, and...and-

(Dash hushes her and holds her tightly. Pinkie rests her head on Dash's shoulder.)

Dash (gently): She's not real, Pinkie. Whoever she is, wherever she came from, she's not real and she's wrong.

Pinkie (sobbing into Dash's shoulder): She just won't go away...I keep telling her she's lying and she's not real but she just doesn't-

Dash (cutting her off): It's okay...it's okay. Everything's going to be fine, Pinkie Pie.

No matter where you try to run...

No matter where you try to hide...

No matter how hard you try to pretend we aren't real...

We will be there.

And we will never be silent.

So go ahead.

Have your little parties.

Surround yourself with your little friends.

Keep up your delusions of laughter and happiness.

Because as soon as you're alone...

As soon as no one is there to protect you...

We will be there.

And we will never be silent.

Fractured: The Ballad of Pinkamena

-Rough Chronology-

Sometime in distant past:

-Pinkie, shortly after getting her mark, takes her sister to a party with a strange Colt. Bellamina is hesitant, but Pinkie convinces her, using the fact that the Colt has a similar 'party' mark.

-The Colt imprisons Pinkie and tortures, disembowels, and kills Bellamina in front of her.

-After some time, the Colt feeds a starving, delusional Pinkamena a cupcake made from the remains of her sister.

-When the Colt prepares to torture Pinkie in the same way, he turns his back for a moment, and his knife is left unattended.

-Pinkie uses the knife to attack the Colt, but does not kill him, slashing him repeatedly but deliberately not killing him, to make him suffer for what he did to Bellamina.

-Pinkie is found some time later by authorities. The Colt is not found; Pinkie assumes she killed him.

-The traumatic event leaves her psyche in ruins, but she represses the memory deeply and is able to remain semi-stable.

-Pinkie becomes extraordinarily happy and eccentric as a result of the repression.

*Details of Psychological Damage*

-Pinkamena believes that, due to the similarities in their marks, as well as what she did when she attacked the colt, that she is the same as him, and that inflicting pain and suffering

is her purpose in life. She rejects this and embraces her current idea of her mark, throwing parties. Thanks to the repression, she is able to forget the former and dwell entirely in

the latter.

Events of Party of One:

-Pinkamena believes her friends no longer enjoy her parties, and no longer desire to associate with her. This is the first step in opening up the old scar.

-The concept of her mark representing parties, as opposed to the more traumatic assumption she first had, is shaken. Though she does not recall the latter yet, the framework is set in place.

-She initially suffers a breakdown; though in the end her friends are able to bring her out of it, this marks the point where the repression begins to reverse,

as well as the point where Pinkamena's warped personality manifests itself.

Events of Lost in the Crowd:

-Upon being confronted with a party that is apparently vastly superior to her own, Pinkamena suffers another breakdown.

-Believing that her parties are inferior, thus they are (and by extension, she is) pointless, she contemplates leaving.

-This is the first time that "alternate Pinkamena" makes her presence known, though not directly; she torments Pinkie internally, leading her to the above.

-Rainbow Dash finds Pinkie before she carries through with her plans, and successfully counteracts the harm "alternate Pinkamina" does, convincing her of the "impersonal" nature of the party,

thanks to all their friends acting abnormal, compared with Pinkie's personal, friend-driven, heartfelt parties.

-Pinkie recovers from the breakdown, but lasting wounds are left.

-This also marks the point where Pinkie first realizes she has feelings for Dash. She opts to hide them, preferring their friendship over possibly ruining things with a relationship.

Events of Party Never Ended:

-Pinkie has been using coping strategies for a long time to deal with her hidden affection for Dash. However, the strategies are becoming less effective.

-Dash finds traces of the strategies but does not understand them. When Pinkie is confronted about them, she loses control and reveals her feelings, even going so far as to kiss Dash. Dash, overwhelmed, rejects her.

-Pinkie leaves Ponyville to contemplate the rejection and her own feelings. While she is gone, Nightmare uses the opportunity to trap her and a guilt-ridden and emotionally-confused Dash in a dream world. While Dash's is an endless nightmare,

Pinkie's dream world is a perfect one where dream-Dash openly loves her and they are the focus of a neverending party.

-Some time later, Twilight, nearly succumbing to the dream herself, manages to snap Pinkie out of it. Pinkie is told by the imaginary Dash that she knows the real Dash will feel the same as she does, and no matter what happens,

this dream Dash will always be in her heart, waiting for her at the titular party.

-Heartbroken at possibly giving up her true love, but determined to save the real Dash, Pinkie enters Dash's nightmare world, where she learns the reason for Dash's rejection.

-Dash's close friend, Star Catcher, made a very public confession of love to her. Dash, overwhelmed and embarassed, violently rejects her, despite feeling the same. Star is heartbroken, becomes a laughingstock, and soon leaves flight School.

-Dash hid extreme guilt over lying to her friend and ruining her life. Pinkie's unexpected confession opened old wounds and provoked the negative response.

-The two overcome Nightmare, with Pinkie making a sacrifice to save a weakened Dash, and ultimately besting Nightmare in her own mind.

-Nightmare exposes her to bizarre dreams in which she, and later Dash, are violent, psychotic killers. Her focus elsewhere, no thought is given to what might have provoked these attacks, and they are easily dispelled.

-Thought dead, Pinkie revives upon Nightmare's defeat, and revealed it was Dash, who repeatedly and tearfully confessed her love to the seemingly-dead Pinkie, that gave her the strength to beat Nightmare.

-Dash requits Pinkie's love. The two agree to a relationship, once Ponyville is saved from Nightmare's storm.

-Dash, with Pinkie's help, prevents the storm, sharing a tender moment of bonding just before the do-or-die moment. Ponyville begins the slow road to recovery, and Dash and Pinkie make their relationship official.

Events of Light in the Darkness:

-some time later, the two are still going steady but are not officially living together yet. Pinkie begins suffering from vaguely-disturbing nightmares, and is unsure of their meaning.

-One night, however, she suffers a horribly-vivid night terror in which she brutally tortures and kills her beloved Dash, in the same manner as the Colt all those years ago (though she does not make this connection.)

-upon awakening, she suffers a prompt breakdown over fear that she could do such a thing. She is nearly psychologically destroyed.

-Dash finds the traumatized Pinkie and is able to break her out of it, convincing her that her breakdown as a result of the nightmare means she rejects it and thus, is nothing like the "Psycho Pie" in the dream.

-Pinkie successfully recovers, and their relationship grows stronger. Though she is convinced, Pinkie still harbors some doubts.

-This is the beginning of the end.

Prologue to Fractured:

-The nightmares do not stop. Pinkie remembers what Dash told her, and continues to reject the nightmares, but they continue, becoming more vivid and "real" each time.

-"Alternate Pinkamena" finally begins to manifest again, this time visibly appearing to Pinkie. Alt. Pinkamena begins to verbally torture her, exploiting every one of her insecurities and

convincing her her nightmares will someday come true. Pinkie actively fights her influence, throwing more parties than ever and surrounding herself with her friends as much as she can

to drown Alt. Pinkamena out.

Events of Fractured, Act 1:

-Pinkie begins to fall apart. The nightmares continue, becoming clearer, more memorable every night. Alt. Pinkamena is ever-present, always waiting until she is alone to tear her apart

and convince her of her own worthlessness, pointlessness, the destructive side of her she constantly rejects, and her inability to face the truth.

-Psycho Pie first appears. She begins to try to convince Pinkie that she is inevitable, and that Pinkie's true nature is not to cause laughter and happiness, only pain. Pinkie continues to

fight, but is beginning to show signs of weakening.

-The others begin to notice her troubles. Despite their attempts to help, Pinkie stubbornly pretends nothing is wrong, fearful of how she will be perceived if she makes her nightmares and fears known. Dash is hurt by her refusal to confide.

-Dash confronts Pinkie, accurately guessing that it is related to the nightmare from before. She repeats what she said then, but Pinkie doesn't respond. Dash makes one last declaration of love and begs Pinkie to come to her if she needs help. Pinkie says nothing.

-Alt. Pinkamena and Psycho Pie continue to pick away at Pinkie. When they finally find her weak point, her love for Dash, they drop all restraint and abuse that weakness as much as possible. Pinkie nearly cracks under the stress.

-Pinkie seeks comfort from Rainbow Dash, but overhears a conversation that, out of context, sounds as if Dash is just humoring her love. This is the final straw. Pinkie loses it and gives in.

-Pinkie becomes deeply depressed, much worse than before.

-Alt. Pinkamena convinces Pinkie to run away; she does so. The others, once realizing she's gone missing, begin to seek her out, Dash more feverishly than anyone. Pinkie is far away by this point, in the wastelands on the very outskirts of civilization.

-Here, alone, Alt. Pinkamena and Psycho Pie are free to torment her endlessly. Pinkie angrily demands to know why they won't leave her alone, now that she's given in and done what Alt. Pinkamena wanted.

-They indicate that they will never leave her alone, that they'll always be there, until she opens her eyes and finally sees the truth for what it is. Pinkie doesn't understand, and just wants to be left in her misery.

-Alt. Pinkamena decides that it's time to make her face the truth, the hard way; Pinkie is dragged within her own shattered mind, where Alt. Pinkamena and Psycho Pie force her to remember the events with the Colt. however, the view she gets is skewed,

deliberately portraying her as a deranged torturer and killer, who at heart only wants to inflict pain and suffering. Pinkie refuses to accept this revelation, trying to deny everything. The two mockingly chide her attempts to reject the 'truth.'

-When Pinkie decrees that she'll never hurt her friends, Alt. Pinkamena indicates that it is they, not her, who hold the power. Alt. Pinkamena gives Psycho Pie 'permission;' Psycho Pie then takes control of Pinkie's real-world form, sadistically stating

that Pinkie will have to accept it when she (Psycho Pie) makes it a reality. Pinkie, too weak to fight back, can only watch in horror as Psycho pie begins to put the motions of her nightmare in action.

-End of Act 2.

Fractured, Act 2:

-Psycho Pie sets up the events of Pinkie's nightmare, wondering who her first victim should be.

-Dash and Twilight, after the search was unsuccessful, have begun studying at the library in Canterlot for a spell that could help them. They find a spell that allows an individual to peer into and influence the minds of those with whom they share strong ties; Dash decides to use

this spell to try and track down Pinkie. Twilight warns her that the spell was deemed too dangerous and was never tested. Dash convinces her to proceed.

-The spell is cast. Dash tries to look into Pinkie's mind, but is confronted with alien geometries and unidentifiable sights; neither her nor Twilight understand. Celestia is busy heading the search for Pinkie, so they turn to Luna for advice.

-Luna suggests that the reason Dash can't clearly see into Pinkie's mind is because there is a great turmoil within it. Dash doesn't follow, but Twilight guesses that Pinkie must be having some sort of major breakdown. Dash, even more worried,

desperately asks what they can do. Neither Twilight nor Luna can offer an answer.

-Psycho Pie decides that Dash would make a perfect first victim. Pinkie is horrified, but Alt. Pinkamena and Psycho Pie have her too broken to act.

-The plan is put into motion. Dash is trapped and captured with no one being the wiser. Pinkie is forced to watch as Psycho Pie prepares to make her nightmare come true, mocking her about it all the while.

-Dash awakens, confused and afraid of what she's in. when Psycho Pie monologues about her intentions, Dash is horrified that this became of Pinkie; however, Dash does not entirely believe it. Psycho Pie begins to torture her.

-Within her mind, as the real Pinkie watches in horror, helpless, the two continue to mock her, telling her that this is her purpose in life. Pinkie just cries out over and over that she's sorry to Dash.

-Psycho decides that the perfect thing to finally snatch what shred of resistance Pinkie has would be to have her take away Dash's beloved wings. She brings the blade close to them, taunting both of them about her intentions.

-Pinkie snaps, crying out in abject despair. Dash, thanks to the lingering mind link, hears the cry. Thinking quickly about it, she concludes that this isn't the real Pinkie, and the real Pinkie must be fighting somewhere inside. She states her revelation to Psycho Pie.

-Psycho Pie attempts to attack her to prove she's real, but before she does, Dash calls out to the real Pinkie. She tells her to fight, that she's stronger than she thinks, and most of all, that she (Dash) loves her.

-Pinkie is finally broken out of her breakdown by Dash's desperate call to her. Seeing herself almost take Dash's beautiful wings, she hurls herself upon her psychotic mental counterpart. The shock of this is enough to paralyze real-world Pinkie's body, just before the blade strikes Dash.

-Dash realizes what she said is working. Remembering the mind link, she tries to look inside Pinkie's mind, and catches a glimpse of the conflict within.

-Psycho Pie gets the upper hand and nearly kills the mental Pinkie, before Alt. Pinkamena agrily stops her, telling her that if the real Pinkie's fragment is killed, both of them will disappear as well. Tensions between the two sinister fragments mount, and they begin to argue.

-Dash notices the conflict between the two, and begins to bait them. Thanks to the mind link, her words get through. As the two fragments fight, Dash feeds their animosity of one another, using the reveals each makes as new ammunition.

-Alt. Pinkamena and Psycho Pie fall to outright violence, each desiring to kill the other. This distraction gives Dash enough time to reach out to the real Pinkie, reassuring her of who she is and telling her that she has the power, not them.

-Pinkie gains control long enough to free the injured-but-intact Dash, and urges her to run. Dash tries to refuse, but Pinkie beomces furious and demands she leave. Dash doesn't want to abandon her, but Pinkie confesses she still has doubts and that she can't hold them off forever. She begs

Dash to flee before she loses control and hurts her, her eyes tearing out of fear and suffering. Her desperation convinces a pained Dash to comply.

-Psycho Pie begins to lose their fight. Alt. Pinkamena takes advantage of her vulnerability to call out her flaws. Psycho Pie loses it and finally reveals that she regrets what she has become, after the imaginary events of her fictional life, and laments that she can never change it,

crying out that Alt. Pinkamena would never be able to understand. She says that Bella's death was random and without meaning; thus the only way she can give meaning to her sister's death is to kill randomly. She cries out that, even if she is a monster, at least she still loved Bella.

Alt. Pinkamena, unimpressed, delivers the killing blow. As Psycho Pie dies, she weakly cries out in joy that the pain is finally fading.

-Alt. Pinkamena decries the dead Psycho Pie as a failure, but that the nature of Pinkie's broken mind means another one can be easily made, once the real Pinkie is dealt with.

-End of Act 2.

Fractured, Act 3:

-Alt. Pinkamena pulls Pinkie into the final area of her mind, the old family farm, but with the sky pitch-black and the farm surrounded by a deep, impenetrable void. Alt. Pinkamena finally gives the full story of the events of the Colt, pointing out that their marks and the things they did mean that the Colt and Pinkie are one and the same.

-Meanwhile, Dash contacts Twilight and tells her to gather all their friends; Pinkie needs their help.

-Alt. Pinkamena tells Pinkie that there is nowhere left to run or hide; it all comes to an end here, and once Pinkie is dealt with, and can no longer fight the truth of her sinister purpose in life, she'll be a 'blank slate' that can be molded into something that would put Psycho Pie to shame.

She states that she (Alt. Pinkamena) has served her purpose, bringing Pinkie to the final threshold. She laments that she won't be around to see Pinkie finally give in, but confesses that she had a lot of fun breaking her spirit, and she'll look forward to seeing what kind of suffering the new

Pinkamena will deliver to Equestria. With this, Alt. Pinkamena leaps to her death.

-The final phantom arises, Slendermane.A symbol of the monstrous colt that Pinkie has tried so desperately to forget, this is the gatekeeper of truth, the harbinger that will force Pinkie to accept her nature as a bringer of pain. Pinkie falls back to the very edge of the abyss as Slendermane slowly draws closer.

-Pinkie makes one last, final decision. She recalls that all of this is tied to her; Psycho Pie, Alt. Pinkamena, and even Slendermane. If they are gone, she can never hurt someone, hurt her friends...hurt Dashie. She is the foundation...and without her, they can never touch the real world. Pinkie smiles sadly as she prepares to step off the edge into the void.

-A voice stops her. Pinkie recognizes it instantly. Dash is contacting her. Pinkie tells her that this is the only way she can be sure she'll never hurt anyone. Dash tells her she's wrong about her nature.

-Dash, along with her friends, proceeds to go over everything that has happened, explaining exactly why Pinkie's reactions to them mean she is not what she thinks she is. She ends with the incident with Bella; Pinkie is horrified that she knows, but Dash reveals she saw it, fractured but there, the first time

she looked into Pinkie's mind, even if she didn't understand it then. She states that Pinkie did what she did to the Colt not because she is a killer like him, but because she is his antithesis - whereas the Colt only lives to hurt, Pinkie lives to bring happiness. Pinkie did what she did

to the Colt because she loved Bella, and hated the Colt for what he did to her. Pinkie was taking revenge. Any joy, any satisfaction she felt, it was because she was avenging the suffering of her beloved sister.

-Pinkie makes one last confession; it was her fault Bella died. She was the one who convinced her to come along with the Colt. Pinkie directly led Bella to her demise.

-The desire to avenge Bella's death led to Pinkie doing what she did to the Colt. There was no sadism in her actions, only pain and rage and sadness at the loss of her sister. Her mind was so clouded by what happened that afterwards, she began to warp the events of that night, telling herself

she was the same as the Colt, because she caused Bella's death. She realizes now that this isn't true.

-However, that doesn't change the fact that Bella died because of her. Pinkie believes it should have been her, not Bella, that died. Pinkie still decides that to atone for causing her sister's death, she, too, must die. She prepares to step off the ledge again.

-A voice stops her...but it isn't Dash, or any of her other friends. It's Bella; whether a spirit, or just another fragment, is unclear, but Bella is speaking to Pinkie.

-Bella tells her that she never blamed Pinkie for what happened. In fact, it was Pinkie's parties that gave her life in the first place.

-Life on their farm was unbearably dull. For the longest time, Bella never even knew what being happy even meant; every day it was always the same. Pinkie changed that; that first party, so unexpected, was one of the best moments of Bella's life. Even if she didn't know how to show it,

Pinkie's parties were the highlights of her life on the farm. It was the first and only thing in her life that had truly made her smile...and laugh. Bella tells Pinkie that what happened was not her fault. No matter what happened, Pinkie could not have known. Pinkie could not have predicted what would happen,

and in the end, Pinkie had no power to stop what happened. Bella isn't mad, and she isn't sad. She doesn't blame Pinkie for anything; in fact, she thanks Pinkie for bringing her the first and only happiness she had ever truly felt in her life.

-Pinkie is tearful. She regrets what happened, but she'll never regret the time she got to spend with Bella. Before fading, Bella makes one last request; for Pinkie to never give up her parties. They were the only thing that ever made Bella happy, and the world does not deserve to be deprived of them.

Pinkie promises to fulfill her desire.

-Pinkie has a flashback to the time Granny taught her to laugh in the face of fear.

-Confronting the approaching Slendermane, Pinkie slowly but steadily begins to laugh, her laguhter growing in volume and strength, the Element of Laughter appearing around her neck as she laughs at the phantom approaching. She finally accepts that the fragments were wrong. Through her laughter, she tells the phantom

that she finally understands the truth, and it no longer has any power over her. As if her words were magic, Slendermane begins to dissolve into ash, and Pinkie's laughter begins to fade, the element around her neck vanishing, its purpose served.

-Back in the real world, Pinkie returns to normal. She reunites with her friends, who saw everything. She embraces them and happily says that she will never forget any of them. She then hugs a tearful Dash and thanks her for saving her, for being her light in the darkness.

-They ask if she wants to celebrate with a party. Pinkie happily agrees, but suddenly stops and says there's something she needs to do first.

-Cut to Pinkie speaking to her sister Octavia, asking to visit Bella's grave. Octavia is shocked that Pinkie suddenly brought this up, but agrees to accompany her.

-End of Act 3.

Epilogue 1, Party for Two Sisters:

-That night, as she sleeps at the family farm for the first time in years, she has a dream...but this time, it's a happy one.

-Pinkie dreams of having one last party with her sister. The party lasts all day and all night, and it's the best, happiest party Pinkie has ever

had. However, as it goes on, Bella begins to tire. Finally, as the night ends, she says that she had a lot of fun, but she's growing weak. She promises

that maybe someday they can do it again, but for now, it's time for her to go. Before fading, she says she'll never forget Pinkie or her parties. Pinkie, with tears of joy, states that she'll never forget Bella again.

Epilogue 2, Whole Again:

-One of Twilight's letters, describing the events that have transpired. She states she never dreamed that Pinkie could have gone through so much in her life, but is happy that she's finally over it all. She mentions that Pinkie and Dash have taken a vacation to the Swayback Mountains, noting that Pinkie needs to unwind after

all that's happened. She notes that the two seem to be closer than ever, and she's happy that things are finally lookig up for them.

-She then expresses a lack of understand how a mind could be fractured so deeply that alternate personae could directly interact with and cause so much harm to the host persona; she laments that there are some things that ponykind will probably never truly understand.

-She adds a note of concern; Fluttershy has been restless lately. After all that's happened, it's got Twilight nervous, but she admits she's probably just being paranoid and brushes it off.

Epilogue Stinger, My Party Never Ended:

-Twilight gets a return letter from Celestia. She does not read the whole thing out loud, but one part troubles her.

-Celestia notes that she looked over the records from the time of the Colt incident, but no Colt was ever found by the authorities, dead or otherwise. Pinkie and the remains of her sister were found, and there were signs that coincided with Pinkie's actions, but no Colt was found by the authorities, there or anywhere in

the surrounding area.

-Cut to a shot of a rural-looking town. A silhoutted figure is standing on a cliff overlooking it. As he monologues about the unreliability of memories and the tendency of the mind to conveniently forget undesired truths, shots of his heavily-scarred body are shown.

-Second-to-last shot shows a view of his face, hung low and eyes closed, heavily veiled in shadows. "And as for me...?"

-Final shot. Same scene, but Colt is looking at the camera, his eyes are open and have a soft red glow. "My party never ended..."

Endings

“Never Lose Sight Of The Light In The Darkness”

This is just an overview of the endings and the conditions to get them. Jake-Heritagu is an excellent writer and you'd do much better reading his original endings than have me try to rewrite them.

“Good” Ending (Things are resolved and there are no strings left hanging):

Ending #1: Sisters

Conditions: Collect all of the memories throughout the game. Don't fulfill the conditions for the “Never” and “Confinement” endings before the final Other Pinkie scene. In the final stretch, place all of the tiles in the correct order.

Overview: This is the canonical “The Truth” ending, with the addon “Party for Two Sisters” connected. The ending remains primarily unchanged from the original.

“Bittersweet” Endings (Things are mostly resolved, but there are strings left hanging and/or things do not end 'happy'):

Ending #2: Bellamina

Conditions: Don't collect all of the memories, or fulfill the conditions for “Never” or “Confinement” before the Other Pinkie scene. In the final stretch, place all of the tiles in the correct order.

Overview: Near-identical to the original “Twist” ending. Pinkie, not having the full story of what happened to her sister and overcome with guilt that it was her fault, refuses to accept that Bellamina is dead, instead convincing herself desperately that it was she, Pinkie, who had died back then, and not Bellamina. Slender Mane overcomes her and she vanishes into the blackness.

Back in the real world, 'Pinkie' comes to, only to make a shocking reveal: she isn't Pinkie Pie, and never was. The real Pinkie Pie died all those years ago. She was Pinkie's sister, Bellamina; in order to cope with the trauma of that night, she had brainwashed herself into thinking she was her sister, in order to carry on her memory. Having confronted the demons within her and realizing the 'truth,' she regained her memory, as well as her true identity. Twilight and especially Dash have trouble understanding this, but eventually Twilight is convinced and accepts it. Dash, however, flies away, with Twilight calling after her, but getting no response. The scene ends with Bellamina apologizing for having put Dash through everything, before Twilight comforts her, saying that nothing that happened is her fault, and that sometimes facing the past can be painful. Bellamina solemnly agrees, then states that before she settles in, she wants to return to the family farm, to “visit Pinkie's grave.”

The ending is expanded upon with a typical letter from Twilight over the ending credits. In it, she explains to Princess Celestia what had transpired, as well as the true identity of 'Pinkie'/Bellamina. She confessed it was a tremendous shock to all of them, and will take some adjusting to, but in the end, even if the Pinkie they knew died so long ago, Bellamina was still their friend, and she would be welcomed into the group with open arms. She admitted that they would all miss Pinkie terribly, for even if they never knew the 'real' Pinkie Pie, if the way Bellamina was was anything like her, then the real Pinkie would have been a treasured and wonderful friend.

She turns serious, stating that she's concerned with Rainbow Dash. Dash has not spoken or seen any of them for some time, and apparently Fluttershy had heard a rumor that she was even giving up flying. Twilight notes how hard it must be to learn the person you loved deeply wasn't real, and after everything Rainbow Dash and “Pinkie” went through together, she doesn't blame her for the way she's acting. In closing, Twilight asks Celestia to always keep Pinkie in her heart, and that the rest of them always will, too.

Ending #3: Confinement

Conditions: Don't be selfish with healing items around Dash (i.e. don't allow her to linger at low health if you have healing items available), use the Knife too much before confronting Other Pinkie (i.e. too many kills with it, too much damage inflicted, use it on already-dead monsters or accidentally hit Dash with it often).

Overview: In the final confrontation with Other Pinkie, she stands before the restrained Rainbow dash, teasing real Pinkie about how someday it'll be her turn. Real Pinkie first watches in horror, paralyzed with fear, but as Other Pinkie's knife draws closer to her, and Dash cries out to her for help, Pinkie is snapped to her senses and rushes at Other Pinkie, barely-missing her with her own knife. Other Pinkie gets out of the way and turns to real Pinkie, who stands in front of Rainbow Dash, back to her, her own knife in her teeth and a look of pure hatred in her eyes. Other Pinkie delights that her other self wants to “have the honors” but real Pinkie growls out, “No...”. With her rage at it's peak, she tenses, and tells her Other self that if she ever tries to hurt Dash, she (real Pinkie) will kill her. Other Pinkie giggles happily and tells her that she (Other Pinkie) is impressed with real Pinkie's anger and hate, and that she's sure now that “You'll end up just like me one day!” Filled with pain and anger at almost seeing the nightmare come true, at nearly seeing her true love killed by her own hand, real Pinkie charges at Other Pinkie. The battle between them then commences with the usual conditions.

After Winning: Other Pinkie lays bleeding on the ground, real Pinkie standing over her, her face obscured by her hair, the blood-dripping knife still in her teeth. Despite the situation, Other Pinkie still seems happy. “I knew it...I knew it...you ARE just like me! I don't care if I die now...'cause one day...you'll BE me, and I can start all over...!” Wordlessly, real Pinkie delivers the killing blow, then walks over and frees Rainbow Dash. Dash embraces her, but she doesn't respond to it. Dash felt so scared for Pinkie, so sorry that this, this nightmare, was what she had to live through every night. After the tears stop, she expresses relief that “It's done...she's gone.” and turns to leave. However, the entire time, Pinkie had neither moved nor spoken, and Dash turns back to her, wondering why she doesn't follow. Finally, Pinkie looks up at her, the hair moving aside just slightly enough for her eyes to be visible, and see that they are filled with despair.

“I'm sorry...Dashie...”

“What're you talking about? Come on, we have to get out of here.”

“I'm sorry...I'm so sorry...”

“Will you quit apologizing, already? It's over, that... thing is dead. We're outta here.”

“No...the monster...she isn't dead...”

Dash stares at her quizzically, confused by this.

“What are you talking about? It's dead, the body's right there-”

Pinkie begins to shed tears of sorrow, her voice filled with pain and sadness.

“She was right...I AM just liked her...I AM her...”

“Wha? Pinkie, that's insane...you're nothing like that monster. I know you.”

“No, you just don't...understand...”

Dash steps forward, her expression a mixture of pain and concern, and a sense of dread that she knows what Pinkie means...

“Pinkie, come on, think back. Remember when you were in that dream of Nightmare's? You gave up the dream me, the pony who loved you, the one thing you wanted most, just so you could-”

“Please, stop!”

“Pinkie...”

Pinkie's voice is low as she faces the ground, her hair obscuring her face again, but not the tears that fell down.

“...when...when I stepped in...to protect you...when I stood facing her...I felt it. Somewhere...deep inside...underneath all the pain and anger and sadness, beneath wanting to protect you...I felt it....”

Dash begins to cry as well, whether from sadness or from fear of what Pinkie might be planning to do, she doesn't know.

“Pinkie, what're you talking about? Felt what...?”

“I...I wanted to hurt...I wanted to hurt...to...to cause pain...it had nothing to do with protecting you...or stopping her...I just wanted to hurt her...not because of what she was...but just because she was the pony who happened to be there...”

“Pinkie, I don't-”

“Dashie, please...I'm sorry...I understand now. No matter how hard I tried...no matter what I do after this...I'll still end up like her one day...I know it...

“No, Pinkie, you're wrong! I know you, you're not like her! C'mon, Pinkie, I lov-”

Pinkie's voice is stricken with pain as she chokes out,

“Stop! Please, don't say it!”

“Pinkie, I-”

“I can't! I can't let that monster...I can't let myself...do those things...I won't...I'll never hurt you...Dashie...”

“I know you won't...”

“I'll never hurt you...”

Her voice begins to break, as something between fear and resignation begins to overtake it. She continues,

“I'll never hurt you...because...I'm not leaving...”

Dash's heart sinks as she struggles to grasp with what Pinkie means.

“You're not...? W-Wait a minute, you...you're staying here?! Pinkie, you can't-”

Pinkie looks up to face her true love, her eyes empty, as if devoid of life, and a hollow smile filled with suffering adorning her muzzle. “I'm sorry, Dashie...just do one thing for me...please...live your life...”

The room around them begins to break away into the black void, as Pinkie turns and starts to slowly walk towards the growing darkness. Dash tries to run towards her, her tears streaming out and vanishing into the endless nothingness, but feels herself being pulled away, a light shining somewhere behind her, the warmth on her back a stark contrast to the chill that ran through her heart.

“Pinkie, stop! Don't do this! You don't have to do this! What do you expect me to do without you...?!”

The answer comes back, an icy dagger striking her at her very core, seemingly coming from everywhere at once.

“...live...”

Dash struggles against the force pulling her back into the light, reaching out desperately towards her love as the darkness finally begins to engulf Pinkie for the last time...

Project - Early Thoughts and Ideas

Silent Ponyville Gmod Comic

Thoughts and Ideas

“Never Lose Sight Of The Light In The Darkness”

Based on the original fic by Jake-Heritagu, but also drawing upon multiple other fics, as outlined below. ALSO HAS DASH/PINKIE SHIPPING.

Silent Ponyville by Jake-Heritagu: An AU version of the story set after the events of Party Never Ended.

Story-that-shall-not-be-named: As in the original, serves as a major factor in the plotline (Pinkie's actions are to ultimately prevent it)

Party Never Ended by butterscotchsundae: Set in roughly the same continuity, at a point sometime after the conclusion of that story.

Light in the Darkness: Referenced. A variation of the events of this fic occurs shortly before the beginning of the comic.

The ultimate idea is to retell the events of Silent Ponyville with greater emphasis on the bond between Dash and Pinkie, and the connections it has to the nightmares and the events in the fic.

The comic is still Silent Hill, however, and despite their connection, a fair amount of the comic will take place with Pinkie separated from Dash. Many of the plotlines and event outcomes are taken from the original, but are expanded upon with the heightened presence of Rainbow Dash.

Pinkie still plays the role of the main character, and the horrors of SP are still modeled on her nightmares and past, and in fact, much of the endgame (which as before will focus on Pinkie alone) will remain unchanged. However, the comic explores the additional possibilities present (such as Dash's reaction to Other Pinkie and the exact nature of Pinkie's nightmares).

In addition, a spinoff/side comic, with the working title of “Catch a Falling Star” will center on Dash during the times she's separated from Pinkie, where she must deal with her own demons. This comic will be significantly shorter than the main comic but will help add background. Details for Catch a Falling Star will be in a separate post.

Obviously, because this is an AU that features a shipping that conflicts with the canon SP one, the events of this comic do NOT tie in to the SP sequels. It's a separate universe entirely. (Depending on how well things go, I may end up doing a comic of 2 in the future, though for the fans of you who like the pairing there, be advised that, since it's set in this AU and not the original, will feature a different pairing than the original. It will still star Fluttershy, if done.)

At it's heart, this is still going to be Silent Hill, and the trademark loneliness, surreal and psychological horror, and feelings of isolation will be prominent. Dash's presence adds support to Pinkie, but at its very core, the nightmares are still something she must solve herself, and ultimately, she must face her fears and her past alone.

Here's a summary of some of the major changes that will likely be present (this is all still in the planning stage, so this could change.)

 RAINBOW DASH/PINKIE PIE SHIPPING (Cap'd and redundantly-stated because it's likely to be a turnoff for many readers, so best get it out of the way.)

 Inclusion of Dash as a major NPC and on-off companion. Interactions between the two will play a major role in the plot and eventually, the ending.

 Expanded and new endings, drawing upon the new interactions and the presence of the relationship.

 (Possibly, if I can come up with good ones) One or two new NPC's, to add extra variety to the interactions, and possibly provide fuel for new monsters/bosses (if I can find a modeler)

 Expanded gameplay elements. New factors to play into the endings, as well. (i.e. Pinkie/Dash can fight monsters with kicks and stomps, but these are weak and injuries are likely, encouraging flight over fight. However, a knife weapon can be found for Pinkie that kills the monsters very quickly, but it replaces the lantern in her mouth meaning choosing combat over visibility, and overusing it will influence a bad/bittersweet ending. Likewise, being selfish or stingy with healing items around Dash, as well as choosing certain options during gameplay and resolving some puzzles in alternate methods may influence different endings.)

This rough outline only highlights the primary elements and differences of the comic; additional posts, containing ending details, information on possible NPC's, and an overview of Catch a Falling Star may be posted separately.

raindom inspiration sections

Yep, more ideas.

Fragments we've got so far.

Melancholy and deeply-depressed and lonely Pinkamena, emotionally distant from the rest, extreme lack of self-esteem and breaks down to tears easily. Is capable of happiness, but for the most part is very downbeat and pessimistic. Represents Pinkie's loneliness and self-doubt.

Brash/Bitter Pinkamena, very deadpan and snarky, acts fearless and bold. Defiant but also reckless.

Dislikes authority and other ponies acting superior. Represents Pinkie's courage, boldness, and sense of  individuality.

Logical & Optimistic poofy-haired Pinkie, is cheerful and upbeat (but not nearly as much as normal Pinkie or Surprise), and very intelligent and rational without being random. Represents Pinkie's intelligence and logic.

Random, airheaded and hyperactive poofy-haired Pinkie (Surprise). Has an unusual color-scheme and pegasus wings. Is extremely random and illogical, and very, very cheerful and hyperactive. Represents Pinkie's energetic and bubbly nature, as well as her seemingly-infinite happiness.  (As well as Pinkie's longing to be able to join Dashie in flight)

(Dashie rests on the cliff edge, Surprise beside her, staring off at the sunset, both winded and sweating from flying.)

Dash (panting): Heh, I gotta give ya props...you kept up with me pretty good up there, Pinki-I mean, Surprise.

Surprise (panting and smiling at Dash): It's okay, Dashie! You can call me Pinkie if you want.

Dash (proudly): Still can't beat The Dash, though! I'm the best young flier for a reason, after all!

Surprise (enthusiastically): Yep! You're the best, Dashie! I don't care about racing you, not just 'cause I know I won't win, but just 'cause it was fun!

Dash (looking up at the dull grey clouds): Yeah, it kinda was! Gotta admit though, never thought I'd be flying alongside Pinkie. Uh, not that it was bad or anything!

Surprise (beaming): Yeah, it was SUPER fun! I LOVED flying up and down and sideways and

WHOOSH! ZOOM! Right through the clouds and ALL over the SKY with you, Dashie! It was amazing and exhilirating and...and... (takes on a slightly saddened expression and looks back out at the sunset) and I'm...really gonna miss it when we're done with all this...

Dash (sitting up and looking at her): Whaddya mean?

Surprise: Well, we can't fly together after we fix us – me- whatever! Right?

Dash (cocks head): Huh? Why not?

Surprise (somewhat sullenly): Real Pinkie doesn't have wings...

Dash (realizing): ...oh...right...

Surprise (sadly): Yeah...

Dash (comforting): Hey, it's okay. You've still got your balloon, and Twilight's got that spell, and...I mean, you never had trouble showing up in the sky before, anyways, right? (offhandedly) Still don't get how you do all that...

Surprise (passionately): Yeah, but – being up there, wings open, flying ALL over the place! Going faster, faster, so fast, everything's just a blur! And...in the corner of my eye, I keep seeing that flash of  bright, beautiful color, and...and just knowing you're there with me, and we're flying together...it's just so wonderful flying with you, Dashie! Going so fast that the world just flies right on by...and nothing else matters...just you and me...it's the most amazing thing in the world! (much sadder) And...I'll never get to feel that after we're done with everything...

Dash (softly): Pinkie...I never...I didn't think you wanted to fly with me THAT bad...

Surprise (sadly): All the time, Dashie! Every time I see you up there, I just want to...(reaches for the sky) to spread my wings and...(spreads her wings and tears up) and...

(They're both silent.)

(Scene: Dash awakens in what seems to be a large, barren rocky landscape. The sun beats down weakly overhead. She aches a bit, but not terribly so. She stands up, surveying her surroundings, and stretching  out her bruised limbs.)

Dash (to herself): Where in Equestria am I...? (She remembers Twilight's spell and facehoofs) That's right! The spell..I'm in Pinkie's head, huh? (She looks around.) Uh...it's a little more...empty than I imagined...I guess she IS a bit of an airhead though, huh? (She pauses for a moment.) Wait, what the hay am I doing?! (She takes to the air) I gotta find... (stops in midair) ...what? What do I gotta find? (Groans and grabs her head) Augh, Twilight, couldn't you have at LEAST told me what I'm supposed to DO in here?! (She looks around and sees nothing but empty landscape.) Guess I'll just...pick a direction and start flying...

(After several minutes of boring, empty, repetitive landscape, she spots a small pink dot in the distance. Her heart perks up.)

Dash (yelling as she flies closer): Pinkie Pie! Hey, Pinkie Pie! Up here!

(She descends towards the figure, who doesn't seem to have noticed her. As she lands she quickly trots up to Pinkie. Her mane and tail were still long, but her face seemed to be devoid of much of the stress from before. She wore an indifferent scowl.)

Dash: Pinkie Pie, are you alright?

Pinkie? (deadpan): Peachy. (she doesn't stop; Dash trots back up t her and keeps pace)

Dash: Pinkie, wait! Where are you going?!

Grouchy Pinkie: Doesn't matter.

Dash: Pinkie, stop and talk to me! Are you okay?! Where are we supposed to go to fix you?!

Grouchy Pinkie: (stops and looks at her with a slightly-annoyed expression, her head tilted) ...great. Guess Dash must've had a concussion or something. Or maybe hit the ground too hard and wound up with brain damage...(soft chuckle) that'd explain a lot of things.

Dash (insulted): Wha...what'd you say?!

Grouchy Pinkie: What? You deaf, too?

Dash (angered): Why, you little-(cools herself down, remembering who she's talking to.) Look, Pinkie, I'm trying to help you.

Grouchy Pinkie (resuming her trot): Yeah, well, I don't remember asking for your help, so...no thanks.

Dash (getting frustrated, flying in front of her): Listen, I don't know what thorn you've got stuck in your hoof, but you're not just walking away from me! You hear?!

Grouchy Pinkie (stopping and sighing, annoyed): Do you have even the slightest clue what's going on here?

Dash (annoyed): No, I don't. I know I'm inside your head and you need help, and you're supposed to help me help you!

Grouchy Pinkie (deadpan): Says who?

Dash (angrily): Says me! Now tell me what to do, or so help me I'll drag you by your tail through the air until you do!

Grouchy Pinkie (sarcastic, waving her hoof): Ooh, so charming. I guess that's what I love about you, huh?

Dash (enraged): That's it, you sarcastic little-

Voice (calling from down a nearby cliff, same voice as Pinkie): HEEEY~! Big meanie, get down here!

Dash (deeply-confused): Wha-?

Grouchy Pinkie (yelling back): Go eat hay, you loudmouth!

Voice: FINE, I'm coming up there to get you then~! Don't say I didn't warn you~!

(A moment later, a set of pink hooves climb their way onto the clifftop, accompanied by soft panting. A moment later, the familiar set of poofy pink hair appears over the cliff, followed by Pinkie...normal, fluffy-haired Pinkie.)

Pinkie #2 (out of breath): You big bully! Come back down here and apologize! You made her cry again!

Grouchy Pinkie: Not my fault she's just a big crybaby.

Dash (flabbergasted, looking between the two Pinkies): A-...ho-...wh-...buh?!

Grouchy Pinkie: So eloquent.

Pinkie #2: Oh, hi Dashie! How long have you been here? (frowning at Grouchy Pinkie) I hope little miss jerk here didn't say anything too mean.

Dash (still stunned, jaw agape): ...Pinkie?

Grouchy Pinkie: I don't think she's figured it out yet. Tch...I knew Dash was slow, but not THIS slow.

Pinkie #2 (sternly): Hush! (To Dash) Are you alright, Dashie?

Dash: What...what the hay is going on?! Why are there TWO of you?!

Pinkie #2: Huh? Oh, well...umm...see...we're not really Pinkie.

Dash: Wha? Whaddya mean 'not really Pinkie?'

Pinkie #2: Well, I guess technically we are...but we're also not Pinkie, at least not all of her. Or all of us. Or...well, you could say that parts of us are her and parts of her are us. Like we are her but we aren't at the same time. (looks questioningly) Does that make sense? (Dash just stares blankly)

Grouchy Pinkie: Way to go, professor. I think your flawless lecture just confused her even more.

Pinkie #2 (to Grouchy Pinkie): You know, you COULD try being helpful for a change! (To Dash) It's complicated. Just think of us as...parts of Pinkie, okay?

Dash (still confused): Parts...of Pinkie?

Pinkie #2: Yeah, like...parts of Pinkie's mind, her personality! Get it?

Dash (understanding): Wait, so you're like...pieces of Pinkie's personality?

Grouchy Pinkie (grumbles): Now she gets it. What do we see in her again, exactly?

Pinkie #2 (glares at Grouchy Pinkie, then beams at Dash): Yeah, you got it! See? You're figuring things out! You're a bright, brave, beautif-(catches herself and blushes) Uh, ahem! I mean...

Grouchy Pinkie (rolles her eyes): Smooth.

Pinkie #2 (glaring again): Oh, you! Hmph! (turning away in agitation) Come on, Dashie, you should meet the others!

Dash (worried): O...Others?

Pinkie #2 (cheerfully): Oh, don't worry! They're not as big a GRUMP as miss meanie over here. Come on~! (She starts her way back down the cliff. )

Dash (uncertain): Uh...o-okay, I...guess...

Grouchy Pinkie (whispering in Dash's ear): If I were you, I'd run far, far away, RIGHT now.
