All You Need Is Love

Celestia's sun was high in the sky as Applejack was finishing up bucking the delicious red apples from the trees. Wiping the sweat from her brow, her eyes wandered up to the sky. Beautiful day really, but she disliked the fact that there were so many clouds blocking the sunlight. How were the trees going to get the sunlight they needed in order for the ponies to get some more apples in a few weeks? She rolled her eyes and began to search the sky. Applejack was looking for that cyan mare that was responsible for the weather. Of course, the orange mare didn't see her in the sky at all around the farm. That happened to be where the most clouds were hanging out it seemed like. Her ears pinned down to her skull in annoyance and her hoof ran over the ground. She was ready to give Rainbow Dash a piece of her mind.

As soon as her mind started wandering to the evil thoughts that now possessed her mind, she began to think of reasons why the mare wasn't doing her job. Rainbow was probably practicing some moves for the Wonderbolts competition that was coming up. She still saw that as a lack of regard for her work, which just stirred her anger even more. Her heart was racing with the anger. She had a thing about work and being honest in all that you do, which every pony understood except for Rainbow Dash. As she bucked at a few more trees, her anger began to diminish into nothing. She felt bad for losing her cool for a moment, however Dash needed to be informed of the thoughts that she had towards her lack of work ethic.

"Big Mac," the orange mare shouted towards her brother, "Ah'm gonna go and see where Rainbow went to."

Eeyup was the only reply she had received from her brother. One of his more famous lines that everypony knew him by. She didn't mind it really. In fact that was one of the things she really appreciated about her brother. He was to the point and there were no hiding agendas with him. Really, he was just a listener and not a talker. That made him all the better. He wouldn't use that against you if you told him some big secret. Big Mac was one of the most relable ponies in all of Equestria, which made her all the more proud to call him brother. However there were times when Big Mac needed to talk, which was understandable. If he had something on his mind, she would listen. Of course, she wouldn't always take his advice if he gave any. She was too stubborn and bull-headed sometimes.

As she walked away, she nodded to Big Mac. Before she really started towards town, she wanted to make sure everything was okay. Applejack was very particular when it came to the farm. As she inspected each little knok and cranny, the female decided that everything was fine. And with that, she headed towards the town. Her hooves making the hollow sound on the ground as she walked. Soon enough, those hollow sounds became faster as she started to trot. The sooner she got there, the sooner she could talk with Rainbow Dash about her issue. As she reached the boundary of town, she looked up in the sky. Of course, her eyes weren't really paying attention to where her hooves were going nor was she aware of her surroundings. All she was really concerned about was finding that multichromatic maned mare. She was bound to run into some pony. It happened to be the one pony that always had her nose in a book, studying. The lavander alicorn and the orange earth pony clashed. As they did, a rather distinct crash came with it. That of books falling to the ground. Looking up at the scene before her, the orange pony felt bad for Twilight.

"Ah'm sorry Twi," the southern pony vocalized, "Ah didn't see ya. Ah'm looking for Rainbow. Have ya seen her?"

"Oh. It is okay," Twilight responded in a calm tone, "I wasn't really paying attention either. I've got a lot of assignments from the princesses that I have to do within the next week. Rainbow...Hmm. Last I saw her, she was hanging out around Town Hall. That was about an hour ago."

"Thanks sugarcube," she quickly said, "Do ya want some help?"

However before she could ask, the alicorn had already picked up all ten books that had fallen with her lavander-pink magic surrounding that and her horn.

"No thanks. I'm good."

"Alright. See ya later."

With that the two parted ways, Twilight was heading towards the river if Applejack was right. She wouldn't really go to the Apple Orchard without Applejack being there to greet her. Twilight usually was in the library, but it seemed that she was favoring the river lately, which could be a good thing. Every pony needed a bit of sunlight. Right now, she wasn't too concerned for the alicorn. Rather, she was concerned for her beautiful apple trees. All of them needed some sunlight too. Continuing her quest to find Rainbow Dash, she came to Town Hall. Of course, there was the cyan mare taking a nap of all things. Applejack looked along the ground for something to throw at the mare. In the corner of her eye, she noticed a pebble. It wasn't big, but it was good enough to wake even the heaviest of sleepers.

She, of course, hated being mean to the pegasus. Sometimes this pony was just so lazy that she could just explode. With multiple weather ponies following her lead, it seemed like nothing was accomplished ever. Perhaps a little knock to the head would do it. Throwing the pebble at just the right speed, it hit her softly in the back of the head and it caused the pegasus to jolt upright. Rainbow Dash rubbed her head with her hoof and glared at Applejack.

"Yo," the raspy voice called to the earth mare, "What the hay was that for?"

"Ah need ya to clear the clouds over by the farm," the southern belle responded in a demanding tone.

"Fine, but you don't have to throw things at me. That hurt AJ."

"Yeah," she said, "That was the point. You need to stop havin' yur head in the clouds and actually do some work."

"I do work," Rainbow Dash snapped back, "I cleared the clouds this morning. It was Derpy's shift now."

"Don't be blamin' things on Ditzy," the mare said correcting the pegasus on the gray mare's name, "Ditzy is also a mail carrier. She ain't just a weather pony."

"Yeah, but I am not the only weather pony in Ponyville," Rainbow hissed.

"Alright. Ah'll give ya that, but still."

"But nothing AJ," the mare said, "I was relaxing. Trying to take a bit of time for myself. I do that sometimes!"

"Just come and clear the clouds," Applejack huffed, "Please. Ah beg of ya. Ah'll give ya some apple cider when ya finish."

It was fall and they had some cider left over from cider season, which was Rainbow Dash's favorite thing. Just then Applejack noticed the cyan pegasus' wings flared open and she flew down to where Applejack was and hovered over the ground. At the mention of cider, Rainbow Dash was all there. Applejack knew that and that was her leverage. The orange mare nodded and started off. The two were together and that was enough for the moment. However, Applejack was thinking of other things. The fact the two were close came to her mind. Her heart was racing and she was trying to hide the pink coloring that resided on her cheeks. All the orange mare could think about was the pegasus that was next to her. The earth pony shifted her gaze for one moment to rest on the rainbow mare next to her.

Rainbow Dash noticed the change in Applejack's demenor. Confused, the cyan pegasus put her hooves on the ground and looked over at the orange pony.

"You okay," the raspy voiced female asked.

Eeyup was the only thing that Applejack could say. The mare looked away from the other and kept silent. She couldn't bear to come to grips with her feelings. No. It was weird. Applejack shouldn't feel this way. The southern pony had grown up believe that a mare loving another mare was just wrong. That was the impression that her family had given her and the rest of the Apple siblings. The mare couldn't help the feeling that the pegasus gave her. The feeling of love soared in her heart for the pegasus. All she could do was let out a breath of air, hoping it would calm her heart.

However, the feelings of tremoil boiled within her. She argued with the pegasus more than she should, but it was a veil. It was hiding her true feelings deep within her. The stirring of those feelings became more and more visible as the days drew on. Perhaps they were destined to be together considering honesty and loyalty had their own relationship. Who would want to be loyal to someone that was dishonest? That was true enough in its own respect. The two elements of harmony walked together as friends. Applejack did accept that they had their overall differences, such as family and their species of equine.

What was she to do? Loving her just wasn't in the interest of her family. She was often afraid of talking about having feelings for a mare, let alone Rainbow Dash. The orange pony's freckled white cheeks were still glowing with that pinkish hue laid upon them. Her bright emerald eyes switched to gaze up at the clouds that loomed in the air. A few looked rather dark for just normal clouds.

"Is it supposed to rain or somethin'," the earth pony said breaking the silence.

"Oh," Rainbow replied, "Yeah. It's supposed to rain later on tomorrow. They are just getting the clouds ready. Ponyville didn't have a rainstorm again last week. So, we've got to make up for it. I'll help you get ready."

Rainbow Dash helping others? Yes. She had the element of loyalty, but usually she was lazy in that respect unless she had something to gain. Applejack lowered on eyebrow and raised the other, giving the mare a quizzical look.

"What? I can help out every once in a while, can't I?"

"Yeah. Ah just wasn't expectin' it that's all."

Rainbow Dash and Applejack remained silent the rest of the way to Sweet Apple Acres. Applejack couldn't think of anything else to say to the mare next to her. So, it was weird for the two. They always had something to say to one another, but it seemed that things weren't as they were before. The two were struggling with some feelings. Applejack knew her feelings, but she couldn't quite place Rainbow Dash's feelings. The mare could be pretty secretive when it came to her feelings of love and devotion, which sometimes scared Applejack out of telling the multichromatic mare her feelings. It was terrifying already and just the fact that Rainbow Dash consealed her feelings made it even harder for her. How could Applejack just confess her feelings? What if Rainbow Dash didn't feel the same way? What if their friendship became ruined all because of her feelings? The orange earth pony wasn't about to take that chance. Sure she was honest in her actions and wasn't very good at lying. However, if she didn't tell Rainbow, that wasn't lying right? She guessed in some ways it could be seen as lying to another, but it wasn't out in the open that she had feelings for the pegasus. So, there was no reason to assume that it was a lie.

As she remained on her thoughts, she hadn't really noticed that they were at the farm. She was in a daze. Her thoughts were whirling within her mind. Thank Celestia she wasn't talking those out in front of Rainbow Dash. The pegasus was calling to the orange mare a few times before the earth pony responded. Shaking her thoughts away, the mare's green irises happened to be looking in the other mare's magenta eyes. It made her heart stop for a moment.

"Yeah," the orange mare inquired.

"We're here. So, I'm gonna start busting the clouds, alright?"

"Eeyup. Sounds good. Ah'll get the cider out. Just come knockin' on the door when yur done, alright?"

"Got it boss."

With that, the rainbow mare bolted into the sky. Bucking the clouds with a fierce and wild temperament, the rainbow pony finished within ten seconds flat. Applejack had barely made it to her home when Rainbow Dash landed beside her. The orange mare looked behind her and saw the clouds had been destroyed and that the trees were getting the sunlight they needed. She nodded to Rainbow and let her come inside. Getting two wooden tankards, the mare poured the cider into both. She set one down for Rainbow and one for herself.

"Thanks for doing that Rainbow," Applejack stated.

"Yeah. No problem AJ," the cyan mare chirped, "Thanks for the cider."

"We've got two barrels left," she said, "And they go bad in a few days. So, drink up."

For them, cider was a treat that wasn't often enjoyed. Yes, foals were allowed to drink it with their parents keeping an eye on them and if they got permission. It was an alcoholic type beverage to their ponies and could cause issues if handled without care. The parents always scolded their foals if they got into the cider without them giving the say so. It seemed that the colts had more troubles than the fillies, which gave pause for concern. However, in Equestria, it wasn't hard to let things be. Things often worked themselves out, which made parents not all that concerned.

Rainbow took a swig of the delicious cider and smiled. She let out a sigh of content cider season was her favorite time of year and often didn't get any. However, since the Apple Family started to allow extended family work with them, all the ponies in Ponyville got some. Even there happened to be barrels left over now, which pleased a lot of ponies. Applejack, also, took a sip of the cold cider. As it ran down her throat, a burning sensation tickled her. It was the familiar inferno that came with drinking cider. The feeling lingered in her gut and traveled over her body. How could any deny that feeling that came with it? The two sat in silence as they finished their first tankard.

"Can I have more," Rainbow Dash questioned as she looked at her empty cup.

"Of course."

Pouring another glass for the pegasus and herself, the two once again sat in silence. The heat traveling over her as she down another drink. Of course, Granny and Big Mac were still working out in the barn. They were going through the apples to determine which they could sell and which ones that were rotten. The mare looked at her drinking companion and smiled. The two were enjoying their drinks. However, the dialogue wasn't needed to express it. Finally, once Rainbow Dash finished her next cup, the pegasus didn't even have to ask. The two had at least four drinks before they finally felt the effects. Woozy and feeling the heat that burned within her, the mare couldn't help but stare at Rainbow.

"W-what," the cyan mare chirped, "W-why a-rrr y-ya lookin' att me f'r that f'r?"

"N-nothin'," she responded as she quickly turned her head away.

"'Twasn't nothin'," the mare slirred in her response, "'Twas ssssomethin'."

The orange mare just remained silent looking at the tankard in her hooves. The rainbow equine went closer to the other and let out a weird sound. Applejack wasn't sure what it sounded like. Her eyes locked with Rainbow Dash's. The heat brushed red across her face. Blushing even more than before, the two felt like they were the only two there. Applejack cleared her throat and turned away.

"A-ah'm sssorry sssugarcube," the southern pony chimed, "I jjjust can't tttell you."

"Yah you can't and you w-will," the raspy higher voice of the pegasus rang out.

"A-ah can't," Applejack proclaimed to her companion, "Ah really can't!"

The cyan mare sat there bewildered by the pony's reaction and Applejack could see that clear on her face. Why couldn't Applejack find the words to tell her? Rainbow Dash got closer to the mare and nodded.

"W-whatever y-ya ssay is gonna sstay here," the mare said quietly, "P-promise."

"A-ah," Applejack paused while she debated within her mind what to say, "A-ah h-have f-feelings f-f'r ya."

Here Comes The Sun
Chapter 2: Something In The Way She Moves

Rainbow Dash just looked in awe at the Earth pony. Her face was half way between confused and happy, which just made it look weird at that moment. Applejack gulped and put her right hoof behind her head, grabbed the Stetson and put it over her face. She wanted to mask the embarrassment that came with this. The familiar jitter ran to the bottom of her hooves.

Just run away AJ, the mare thought; just go before she can say anything.

"W-wait," the cyan mare vocalized, "I-I'm ccconfussed. F-feelings?"

"Ya know. A-ah llike ya as m-more t-t-than a f-friend," Applejack garbled back, "A-ah kknow ya pprob'bly ain't gonna h've the sssame f-feelin'ss as me."

Her friend fell silent as her cheeks blushed a scarlet red. At that moment, Applejack could tell that Rainbow just wanted to up and fly away. Feeling the urge to run away, the orange mare gently tapped the ground with her hooves. Feeling the guilt start to swell within her, Applejack began to back away from Rainbow Dash. To the orange mares surprise, Rainbow Dash followed. Looking over at the cyan mare, the two had locked their eyes once more. This time however, Applejack saw something different. It was gentle; but fierce. Compassionate; yet affliction. Something sparked within Rainbow Dash that she had not seen before. The once fierce competitor looked like a helpless filly, it made Applejack feel safe for once in the presence of the pegasus.

For a moment, it felt like the world only consisted of the two mares. Locked in each other's eyes, it felt peaceful and right. Applejack couldn't grasp the depth of emotion that was contained within the magenta-colored orbs, that had love within it. No pony could deny it, not even the slick and confident weather pony.

The mare looked almost defeated at that point; the two had been struggling for many years with their feelings for one another. They had even hated each other at first. The two would feud over little things; which eventually morphed into a constant competition between them. As the two grew up, the friendship between them blossomed. Now, everything was changing. They had feelings for one another and they had no clue as to how the other would react. Finally, Rainbow exhaled and let the truth come out.

"I d-do," declared the Pegasus, "I d-do h've t-t-he sssame f-feelings as ya. I've h-had 'em f-f'r a while."

Applejack's ears perked up as she once again felt her gaze travel over to the blue mare. Applejack’s heart soared when she realized the feeling were mutual. The earth pony felt a wing of the other mare latch onto her side. Soon enough, the blue wing pulled her closer and a soft kiss grazed Applejack's cheek. For a short moment, Applejack sat there in awe of what had just occurred. They were nose to nose as they looked at each other in silence. What could Applejack say that wouldn't ruin this moment? Nevertheless, against all instincts, the orange mare planted a kiss on the other's lips. She felt the other mare melt into the kiss and return it eagerly. The moment felt unreal and unfit for the hardworking pony, but Applejack didn't want it to end. The two finished their first kiss and let out a sigh of relief. Both were smiling; with true love gracing them, their hearts skipped a few beats. Yes, the tension had been there before; yet, now it was perfect. There were no secrets and Applejack felt at peace.

"W-we ain't ggonna tttell mah f-family," the orange mare managed to say.

Rainbow Dash could only nod in response to Applejack. The multicolored Pegasus kept her wing where it was, on the earth pony's withers. The two had finally confessed the one thing that had frightened them the most and it felt amazing. Snuggling closer to the cyan mare, Applejack dug her head into Rainbow Dash’s mane. Being this close felt unsurpassable at that moment. With all the perfect moments, they were always short-lived. Soon enough, the door flew open and Rainbow withdrew her wing from the earth pony. Clearing their throats, the two looked to see who was coming in. The familiar faces of Big Mac and Granny Smith came into view.

"Hello Rainbow," the old, crow-like voice said in the midst of the silence, "AJ. Ah see ya got into the cider."

"Eeyup," the red stallion simply put.

"Save any fer the rest of us," the green elder laughed.

"Ya," Rainbow said calmly, "Tther's pplentty."

Applejack noticed that the older mare had joined Rainbow Dash and Applejack. The orange mare noticed curious look in her granny’s eyes. Perhaps, Granny Smith was unsure why the two were sitting so close and Applejack could feel it boiling under her skin. The farm pony was aware that the green elder was looking at her granddaughter and Rainbow Dash. The two had gotten up and started to stumble towards the door.

Applejack seemed to feel the sensation that came over a pony when they felt like they were being watched. Turning her head around, the mare noticed her older brother looking at her. He actually had a smile on his face. Did he know that Applejack had feelings for Rainbow Dash? Was he aware of all that came with that? She was breaking the family tradition and the status quo that came with being an Apple Family member. And he was just okay with that? He couldn't be. The orange mare shook the feeling from her bones and looked at Rainbow.

There wasn't much to be said between the two mares. They had openly expressed their feelings and that was all there was to it. The friends differed on so many things in life, which made it hard for a relationship to work. Applejack led Dash to the door and stood there with tears in her eyes. All the orange mare could do was look away from the strong Pegasus before her.

"A-ah'll see ya 'round," Applejack stated in a solemn tone, "A-ah guess."

The only thing the rainbow maned mare said was the word, "yeah." That's the only word that she spoke before she was off. Not even taking to the sky, Rainbow Dash slowly walked away from the farm, her head hung low towards ground, not even looking up to dash off. However, for a moment, the cyan mare turned around to look back at where AJ had been standing. The Earth pony could see the tears forming in her magenta eyes. Sometimes things just don’t work out and it had hit them as soon as the interruption came in their cuddle and kiss. The moment between the two had ended just as it had begun. Was that going to be the end of it? The orange mare wasn't too sure about what she was going to do. Would the last few moments the two spent together ruin the friendship they had? Would it ruin the competitions the two would randomly hold? The question kept tumbling in her mind.

Charging up the stairs, the orange mare ran into her room. Closing the door behind her, the brashness of her actions had been surprising even to her. Catching her breath, the tears rolled down her cheeks. They were hotter than her cheeks were at that moment and felt heavier than any tears she had shed in recent history. Was this what heartbreak was like?

The tears were coming in waves. Her breath was becoming shallow and she gasped for air. It was the unpleasant feeling that came with every tear that she had shed. Rainbow Dash hadn't exactly said they wouldn't work, nor did she say anything for that matter. It started with her telling Rainbow that she couldn't tell her family. She guessed Rainbow was put off by that and then her family just happened to walk in. It just seemed that the Princesses were playing Applejack for a fool. Honestly; the earth pony knew never to swear to the Princesses' names, but it seemed to just happen over and over again. The straw blonde maned mare stomped a hoof on the ground as she uttered Celestia's name under her breath.

Damnit Celestia, Applejack said internally, Ah hate this! Why does this hurt so much? What did Ah do to deserve hurt like this? Ah did all Ah could do to keep my promises. Ah even kept the promise after you took my parents from me. Ah told ya Ah would take care of Apple Bloom as if she was mah own and run Sweet Apple Acres. Ah just hate feelin’ this way. Why do Ah have these feelings for her? Why? Make them go away, Ah beg of you!

No matter how much she would plead and beg for these feelings to disappear, they would never go away. The feelings had been unmasked from where they had been festering for so long. This wasn't right, but why had it felt so amazing when it happened? Wiping away the tears, the mare's emerald eyes looked to the sunset that was now painted the sky. It was beautiful, but within mere seconds it was gone. It didn't upset her because she knew it would be there tomorrow. Just like her feelings for Rainbow Dash would still be there. The orange mare suddenly understood. Perhaps it wasn't meant to be a sign, but it was. It was there in front of her. For a moment, it seemed like Applejack's eyes were scanning the ground as she was thinking of what to do. Should she run to Rainbow Dash or just stay put?

A knock on her door interrupted her thoughts. Turning on her hooves, the mare trotted over to the door. Big Mac was standing there, silent like he normally was. His eyes happened to be full of concern.

"Can we talk sis," the stallion said in a soft tone.

"Yup. C'mon in," she said as she moved away from the door.

"Listen sis," the deep voice of reason rang in the air, "Ah know ya have feelings for Rainbow Dash and Ah've known it for a while."

The familiar inferno rushed to her face as he spoke. Was it that obvious to everypony? No, this wasn't good. Where was he going to go with this? Applejack felt her nerves building up and felt nauseous. All the while, her eyes grew bigger with shock at the fact that he was calm about it. There were so many thoughts whirling around in her mind.

"AJ, Ah wanna let ya know that Ah care 'bout ya," Big Mac continued, "Ah don't care that ya have feelings for Rainbow Dash."

"You don't?" she asked him.

"Nope, Ah don't care that ya do," he responded, "Ah care more 'bout ya gettin' yur heart broken."

"Big Mac, Ah don't know what to feel anymore," the mare retorted, "Ah can't seem to think straight anymore. Ah don't know what Ah'm feeling. She's a mare and Ah'm a mare. It ain't right Big Mac...It just ain’t."

"It happens," the red stallion vocalized, "sometimes others just forget that these things happen. Ah'm not sayin' that Ah don't find it a bit weird, but yur my sister and Ah love ya. Ah just want ya to be happy. Ya know that, right?"

"Ah know Big Mac. Ah just can't. Ah just can't be with her. Ah can't love her. But Ah want to. What do I do?"

The mare felt Big Mac put his hoof of his sister's shoulder and was smiling at her. From what she knew; he was aware that his sister was very conflicted, especially since their whole life they had grown up in a household that didn't look too fondly at the idea. It had been drilled into all their minds that this was wrong, but times were changing. More ponies were hooking up with their same gender and the Apple Family had to accept that. There was no stopping the present. The orange mare was, on the other hand, just trying to debate her feelings and push them aside. Perhaps she was afraid that the family line would end with her, but she would be wrong.

"Ah don't know if this'll help sis," he comforted her, "Ah think that ya should go and talk with some pony 'bout these feelings."

"But-"

"But nothin'," Big Mac cut her off, "Ya need to. Ah don't want what happened to that one mare to happen to ya. Got it?"

"Yeah," she said defeated, "Got it."

Big Mac nodded in satisfaction and started on his way out. The orange mare smiled slightly at her brother as he left. Even though he wasn't fully accepting, she knew that he wanted her to be happy. However; with all these conflicting feelings, she wasn't happy at all. Applejack knew that her brother was right. The orange mare had to talk with someone about these feelings of unrest. But first, she needed some sleep. Taking off her Stetson and hanging it on her closet door, the mare walked over to her bed in defeat. The tears and the struggles had robbed the earth pony of her energy; not to mention the alcohol was still making her a bit woozy. Laying her head down, the mare closed her eyes. It seemed like an hour before she could even fall asleep, but it only had been a few minutes. After struggling and kicking, her brain finally gave up trying to fight this. Pulling her in, sleep came to her. As the darkness faded, a dream came to her.

It started as a normal dream. She was working the fields of Sweet Apple Acres. Big Mac and Apple Bloom were helping her clear the trees and harvest the apples that fell from them. However, the apples were rotten. All of them. The orange mare looked over at her siblings and they simply shrugged. Applejack felt frantic. The money that came from their apple sales went towards paying bills. Big Mac knew it, but seemed calm. She was the only one panicking. What was up with that? The mare looked around for some signs of a good apple, but there were none. However, that was before Rainbow Dash came soaring through the sky and landed in front of her. Suddenly, the apples were fresh as a daisy and everything felt right. Looking around, Applejack couldn't help but smile. Moving closer to Rainbow Dash, she planted a kiss on the cyan mare's lips. The two were suspended in the kiss for moment, but soon after, the apples became rotten once again. The mares looked at each other with tears in their eyes. It was like she was reliving that moment in which all had gone wrong. But this time, it was even worse. The weight of the world seemed to be crashing down. Falling into a dark abyss, everything stopped.

"Applejack," a voiced called out into her dream, "Thou needs to be honest with thyself."

"Ah'm bein' honest," she retorted, "Ah'm bein' honest."

"No," said the voice once more, "Thou were not."

"How wasn't Ah honest?!"

"Thou were honest in telling Rainbow Dash thy feelings," the voice said, "But thou dost keep telling thyself they are wrong. Thou knowest with all thy being that it is right, fair Applejack. Thou needs to let things happen as they should. Thy love Rainbow Dash more than thou doth realize."

"Ah know Ah love Rainbow Dash! Ah've loved her for a while! Ah just don't want to be a shame to the family," Applejack cried out.

Just then, the princess of the night came into form in front of the mare's eyes. Bowing, Applejack looked away from Princess Luna. Sure, she wasn't Nightmare Moon anymore. Still the thought of it scared her.

"Thou needst not be afraid," the Alicorn said softly, "I am here to help you."

The darker princess walked slowly towards the bowing pony. Putting a hoof under Applejack's chin, Luna raised the earth pony's head to look at her.

"Thou must face the truth," she said, "No matter what thou shalt love her with all thy being and thy cannot change that. This is thy true self. Thou art thyself and thou are beautiful, let nopony else say otherwise."

Applejack only nodded in response. Big Mac and the princess had told her the same thing. It was okay to have these feelings for Rainbow Dash, but why did it feel so wrong at times? Applejack had to admit she felt dirty because of all that she had felt towards the other mare, which had started soon after the Running of the Leaves. The orange mare felt a disturbance in her dream. A ripple went through the dream as she rubbed her head and let out a small groan. She was going to wake up, but why? She had just started to talk with the princess about her true feelings, yet it was ending just as it began. The princess’ voice echoed as she started to vanish from sight. Of course, the princess couldn’t stay in Applejack’s dream for long. The last rippling effect shot through her mind as it went to darkness.

Applejack shot up as the dream ended. She knew what she had to do at that moment. Hopping out of her bed, the mare rushed down the stairs. Her family happened to be sitting at the table talking. Stopping for a moment, the mare noticed that they were all looking at her. That all-so-familiar heat rushed to her face. Why were they all looking at her?

“Ah’ll be back,” she said as she tried to remain calm, “Ah’ve gotta go and do somethin’.”

She noticed her brother smile and wink at his sister. Applejack nodded and walked towards the door as calmly as she could. With the alcohol out of her system, she was thinking clearly once more. This time, she was going to give a proper confession.

So, yeah. This was hard for me to write. No. It wasn't because I had a writer's block. It was really because I got intoxicated a few times while writing this. Yes, I do drink from time to time. Social gatherings, mainly family, means drinks for everyone! Not really, but you get the idea.

Without further adieu, I give you the second chapter.

Don't ask when the third chapter will be out because, even though I am working on it, I don't want to get anybody's hopes up. I'm not that mean...

Editor Note: Hello, mike here! Well this chapter was… difficult to edit. We had a few ‘bumps’ along the way but I present you chapter two! I hope that chapter three won’t take as long but…no promises. And remember as much as I hate to admit it I am NOT perfect so if there is anything that I have missed - spelling or grammar - please point it out in the comments below. Thank you for reading and have a nice day!

Oh and as a shameless self promotion check me out at (Censored due to dutchyness).

A Hard's Day Night

Author's Notes:

So...this chapter.

Let me begin by saying that I am truly sorry for the wait and it wasn't fair; however, things came up during the wait and it took precedent over the story. Plus, I lost a lot of muse for Applejack due to the fourth season. She has become a different pony since the beginning of season 4. Yes, I enjoy that she is getting more attention, but I can't deal with her being so terrible to the others. I always saw her as the leader/motherly figure, but she has been rather childish in this season now that I think about it.

Anyways, now this is unedited. My editors have had a lot of their plates and I appreciate what they've done so far; however, I felt the wait was unfair. The next chapter hasn't even been drafted yet. So, it'll be about a month before the next chapter comes around. Just to make you aware of that.

Oh and for those wondering when Discord is going to come into this story...just you wait. It is going to be a rather interesting when he comes into the story.

Here Comes The Sun
Chapter Three: A Hard Day’s Night

Once out the door, the mare reared before she cantered off to see Rainbow Dash. Applejack had to go and see the cyan mare. Her hooves hit the ground hard, pushing her forward. The hollow sound echoed in the darkness. It wasn’t the best time to be out, but she had to see her. Applejack’s determination was now driven by the truth. That was her element after all. Princess Luna had sparked that within her dream and Applejack had to thank the princess in person. Something had sparked within her after the talk from both her brother and the Princess of the Night. The thoughts ran through her mind of what she could say that didn’t sound so sappy.

Maybe if Ah tell her, Applejack thought, the truth. Ah mean what can go wrong? A ton of things can go wron’. What if she ain’t gonna feel the same way? Ah know she said it while a bit intoxicated, but anypony can say somethin’ that they don’t mean. Ah’m pretty sure she was honest, but Ah wouldn’t put it past her. What am Ah sayin’? Rainbow is loyal and she can be pretty honest to boot. Ah ain’t sure if it is true, but Ah’m gonna follow mah heart and tell her. Tonight is the night Ah tell the truth. Ah’m the Element of Honesty for Pete’s sake! Ah’m honest in everythin’ else, ain’t Ah? Yep. Ah’m pretty sure that there ain’t a reason for me to be lyin’ to Rainbow like this.

Passing the library, she knew that she was close to Rainbow Dash’s home. Looking up, she saw the cloud house hanging there with Rainbow Dash standing on the outside. Smiling, the earth pony felt her heart race and her stomach flip. At that moment, she realized that she couldn’t go through with this. What if Rainbow didn’t love her back? That was just too much for Applejack to handle. Maybe being friends wasn’t so bad after all.

The orange mare worked her way back to the farm. Tonight was just not the night to tell Rainbow or any pony how she felt. It was the night to just reflect on what had happened and what had occurred within the last twenty-four hours. Once she reached Sweet Apple Acres, she stopped for a moment. Something was keeping her from going inside and getting some rest. Her thoughts were in the sky, thinking of the Pegasus once more. On top of that, she was beginning to think of what Big Mac and Princess Luna had told her.

Be honest they said, the orange mare huffed, Ah can be honest just it ain’t the time to be honest. Rainbow is prob’bly already asleep by now. It ain’t right for me to just run up and say ‘Howdy Rainbow. Ah just wanted to stop by and tell ya that Ah wasn’t jokin’ when Ah had feelings fer ya.’ Psh. If it was that easy, Ah bet that every mare in town would confess their secrets to the world. Plus, there is more than just mah relationship with Rainbow at stake. What if Dash and Ah broke up or somethin’? We wouldn’t be friends. If we weren’t friends, the Elements of Harmony would be useless. So, Ah’m gonna stay away from tellin’ her the truth fer a while. Can’t exactly break up a friendship just fer a relationship, can Ah? Maybe if Ah sleep on it, Ah’ll think clearer. Today was just weird enough already.

Heading inside, the orange mare laid her Stetson down on the kitchen table and went up the stairs. She noticed from the corner of her eye, the older Apple sibling standing in his doorway. Applejack weakly smiled and headed into her room. The Earth pony wasn’t about to just tell her brother that she had chickened out at the last moment. Dragging her hooves along the wooden floor, she removed her gaze from her brother and down to the floor. Finally reaching her room for the second time that day, she stood in the threshold for a moment. Looking at her bed, the very thought of sleeping made her stomach sick. Nothing at that moment would let her sleep, except for a good ol’ round of whiskey shots. Deciding in her mind, she wanted nothing else to do with alcohol because her liver was already suffering enough from today’s endeavours.

Climbing into bed, she let herself drift to sleep in the sweet embrace of the night

_________________________________________________________________

As the sun rose, the rooster crowed and woke Applejack from her slumber. Stretching back, Applejack yawned and jumped off the bed. As soon as she landed, she headed for the restroom to do her morning routine. That happened to include her brother interrupting her while she was on the toilet to get her to hurry it up. Every morning it was the same thing, over and over, which was a good thing in a farmer’s life. To Applejack, it was the most boring thing about her life. The consistent schedule without variation, except for the times when she was kicking flank with the other Elements of Harmony, was just too predictable. Of course, she knew that wouldn’t happen. The Elements would be her only variation.

Stirring herself from her own thoughts, the mare noticed the pang of hunger and started down to the kitchen. Knowing that Granny Smith wasn’t up yet, the mare grabbed some of the oats stored on the top shelf and poured them into a bowl. Eating them dry, the orange mare finished quickly and started towards the harvest for today.

Might as well get started, she thought, Big Mac’ll be out right quick. Ah don’t care doing a few trees by mahself. It ain’t right to depend on Big Mac all the time. Like when Ah’m out with the girls, he’s doin’ all the work for pony’s sake! Maybe we should try ‘n hire some new hooves ‘round these parts. Ah’ve got the girls and mah family to watch after. Dangnabbit! Ah need to focus. Ain’t got time fer just wanderin’ ’bout.

Kick after kick, it came to around noon when she noticed that a certain pony was napping in her trees. The anger that had built up overnight came exploding.

“Dangnabbit, Rainbow Dash,” Applejack shouted, “Ah thought Ah told ya to stop nappin’ in my trees! Next time Ah find ya up there, Ah’m just gonna buck so hard that y’all get whiplash! Getchur flank down from that tree right quick now!”

“Well excuse me,” Rainbow retorted, “This happened to be the only spot free today. The park is filled with a ton of parents and their foals, which I don’t bucking do! So, I chose the best spot.”

“Couldn’t ya just sleep in yer house,” Applejack chided, “It ain’t far from here! You do know where it is don’t ya?”

“I could,” Rainbow spat, “and I know where it is for pony’s sake! I just don’t get a lot of sunshine there and plus I need to keep an eye on the weather.”

“How can ya keep an eye on it when yer nappin’,” the orange mare questioned.

The two of them were about to come to blows when Applejack remembered the shipment of apples that she was supposed to send off to the market up in Canterlot. The two, however, continued their argument as Applejack worked her flank off. She needed to get this shipment out.

“Listen Rainbow,” Applejack warned, “Ain’t nobody got time for that! Ah got a shipment that Ah’ve got to get over to the station for Canterlot. No pony in the Apple Family has been late and Ah AIN’T gonna be the first one. So, either be useful or get off the dang farm!”

Applejack heard a snort or two coming from Rainbow before the cyan mare decided to assist the farmer. Nodding, Applejack told her where she could help out and where to get the supplies. She usually hated asking for help, but she needed it if she wanted to get the shipment to the train station on time. Speeding up, the orange mare ran from tree to tree, bucking them as fast as she could. Applejack, like she had told Rainbow, wasn’t about to be the first Apple to bring a shipment late.
_________________________________________________________

The two mares stood side by side as the watched the train depart from the station. Applejack felt relieved at the fact that they had made it right in time with the Canterlot shipment. Now, she had to focus on the next shipment that would be heading to Cloudsdale. Turning on her hooves, the Earth pony headed back towards Sweet Apple Acres. She couldn’t help but notice that Rainbow Dash was walking by her side.

“Ah guess Ah should thank ya Rainbow,” she said, “Ah was as nervous as a cat in a room full of rockin’ chairs. Gettin’ this shipment done was hard work. Ah guess Ah owe ya. Ya did a good ol’ job with buckin’ ’em trees.”

“Well what do you expect,” the cyan mare responded, “I’m just so awesome at everything---”

Applejack flashed her a warning glare accompanied by a familiar annoyance snort. Sometimes Applejack just wanted to smack her upside her head. It wasn’t right for her to just gloat about every last little thing.

“Yer lucky Ah got work to do or Ah’d smack ya upside yer head,” she growled, “Ah ain’t in the mood fer yer gloatin’.”

“Right,” Rainbow said, clearing her throat, “Sorry. Listen, how about I help you some more? If we work together, you’ll get work done faster which means we can just chill or something. I mean, if you are totally up for it. Maybe a competition to see who is the fastest, since we never finished that competition.”

“Yer on,” Applejack responded, “Let’s get to it then RD. Ain’t got time for just messin’ around. We’ve got apples to buck.”

The two remained silent after that as they walked to the farm, which caused a bit of concern for Applejack. The mare’s companion usually was talking about herself or the Wonderbolts, yet the cyan mare had said nothing. The discomfort pushed Applejack to trot towards the barn.

This ain’t right, the mare thought in her discomfort, Rainbow is usually flappin’ her gums about somethin’. Usually it is what she did this week or somethin’ about those dang Wonderbolts. Somethin’ is up with her and Ah ain’t sure that Ah should ask. What if she gets into somethin’ about a pony she cares fer? Ain’t somethin’ Ah want to know about. Then again, a good friend would ask.

“Erm,” Applejack vocalized, “So, what’s up Rainbow?”

“Oh. Nothing,” the cyan mare responded, clearing lying through her teeth.

“Listen Rainbow,” she said, “Ah know that somethin’ ain’t right. Ya haven’t said a word. So stop lyin’ through yer teeth and tell me what’s wrong, sugarcube.”

“Can we just not talk about it,” Rainbow said, trying to find a way out.

“Fine,” Applejack said, “But when it comes a bites ya in the flank, don’t come cryin’ to me.”

“I won’t,” Rainbow responded, “Don’t worry.”

___________________________________________________________________

Finishing up with the next harvest that was to be sent out in the morning, Applejack and Rainbow sat outside drinking some fresh apple juice. The two laughed over the small mistakes that were made. Setting her juice down, Applejack got to her hooves once more and smiled at Rainbow Dash.

“Wanna race,” the orange mare questioned.

“Bring it on,” the Pegasus responded, smirking, “So what’s the prize?”

“The other pony has to do whatever the other one asks,” Applejack responded, “No ifs, ands, or buts. Got it? Get it? Good. Also, no wings!”

“Fair enough,” Rainbow Dash agreed, “So, let’s do this. What point do I go to?”

Pointing to a tree that was only 50 yards away, Applejack instructed her to loop around that tree and come back at top speed. First, the orange mare had to grab one of the timers that Pinkie had stored in one of her trees a while back. Grabbing it, the Earth pony returned and the Pegasus got ready. As the cyan mare galloped off, the orange mare clicked the timer. 1 second...2 seconds...3 seconds….6 seconds...7 seconds…

“7.45 seconds,” the Earth pony said as Rainbow crossed the finish line.

“Alright,” the cyan mare cheered, “Let’s see you beat that!”

Handing Rainbow the timer, she warned her not to cheat because she would know. Applejack waited for the word that she was dying to hear at that moment. She felt her heart getting ready, the adrenaline coursing through her body, and her hooves itching for the run of her life. As Rainbow said “go,” Applejack took off with a jump-start. Her body bounded forwards as her muscles worked their hardest to get going. She pushed herself harder and harder, trying to get the satisfaction of a good run. Turning the corner after three seconds of running, she sprinted back even faster. The wind in her mane feel like she was flying. Finally, she reached the finish line and slowed herself down. Walking back over to the cyan mare, Applejack smiled.

“So,” Applejack smirked, “How did Ah do?”

“7 seconds flat,” the Pegasus hissed, accompanied by a stomp of her hoof and a scrunched face, “I can’t believe I lost. I hate losing. Even to you. Especially you. So what do you want me to do? Parade around Ponyville saying that you won and that you are more awesome than me?”

Well AJ, the orange mare said in her mind, It’s now or never.

“Ah,” whispered Applejack, “want you to go on a date with me.”

“What was that,” Rainbow Dash asked, trying to clarify what Applejack had said.

“Ahwantyatogoonadatewithme,” Applejack said quickly.

“Finally,” Rainbow said relieved.

“Wait,” the orange mare stated, obviously confused, “What? What do you mean finally?”

“Well,” the Pegasus responded, “I was---”

“Scared,” the Earth pony chuckled as she cut of her companion.

“No,” huffed Rainbow, “I wasn’t scared. I was just waiting for you. I totally am not afraid of anything.”

“Really,” Applejack stated meaning it as a joke, “What about the time in the castle? Ya were shakin’ in yer horseshoes.”

“I wasn’t the only one from what I remember dear Applejack,” Rainbow retorted sourly, “You were doing the same.”

“Okay,” Applejack admitted, “Ah was a might bit scared, but it was Ah worked mahself with that story that Granny used to tell me. That’s all.”

“Keep telling yourself that AJ.” Rainbow snorted, clearly holding back a laugh, “Doesn’t mean it is true.”

Applejack let out a snort of distaste for what Rainbow had just said to her. There was no way Applejack was going to back down from this so-called challenge. The farmer threw her “marefriend”, if that was what Rainbow could be called at that moment, a glare. The fact of the matter was, truth be told, Applejack wanted nothing more than to wear the pants in the relationship; however she knew that Rainbow would fit her for it. Holding her tongue, she turned away from Rainbow and grabbed the bushels of apples. The Earth pony had taken a break long enough and it was high time that she moved her flank towards a bigger goal at the moment, finishing her work.

“How about tomorrow?” Rainbow called after her, “I’m free after 9!”

“Fine,” Applejack responded, “but be on time! Ah’ll meet ya at the old barn. The one with the mural that Pinkie painted.”

“Sounds good.”

Now all Applejack had to do was worry about tomorrow, as usual. With the workload that she had to do and, now, the date. Tomorrow was going to be like facing Cerberus in the burning pit called Tartarus. She wasn’t sure where she was taking Rainbow Dash or what she would wear, but all Applejack knew was that tomorrow was going to be interesting to say the least.

Here Comes the Sun

Chapter 4: Come Together

Laying in her bed, Applejack stared up at the ceiling. Her thoughts mainly on the date that was going to happen tomorrow, or rather today. Her bedside alarm clock showed that it was 2 o’clock in the morning. No matter how hard she tried to relax, the orange mare just couldn’t bring herself to get to sleep. Tossing and turning at this point was useless, which Applejack was fully aware of. Instead, she got to her hooves and started down the stairs. Perhaps a cup of tea would help. At least, that was what Rarity had often told her.

Which tea did Rarity tell me to use, Applejack struggled to remember, If I remember right it was something like Camel. Think, Applejack, think. Oh, buck it. Ah’ll remember the name when Ah see it. She gave me a few boxes of tea. So, it’ll be one of ‘em.

Opening the cabinet, she looked closely at the labels. Earl Grey, Peach Ginger, Apple Cinnamon, and Chamomile were all there. Somepony had opened the Apple Cinnamon, which she could take three guesses of who it had been. Grabbing the Chamomile, she opened the box and took out one packet. Grabbing the honey that they had gathered over the past two days, she mixed the tea and the honey once the water had boiled. Waiting a few moments, she looked out the window. The sun had yet to wake, which she had always been used to; however, feeling tired and nervous had its effect on a mare. As the minutes ticked on, the mare slowly drank her tea; her eyes still wandering over her surroundings. The herbal smell and taste lulled her mind and she soon felt drowsy enough to go to sleep. Meandering up the stairs, Applejack yawned several times and soon found herself wrapped in the dreams of tomorrow.

As she awoke to the dawning of a new day, the Earth pony grabbed her faithful Stetson and followed her familiar morning routine once again. This time she wasn’t worrying about the harvest, but rather the date that she had set up with Rainbow Dash. Where could she take Dash that would ‘wow’ her? The Dandelion Café was rather dull and Rainbow Dash didn’t do dull. There was that new club that Rainbow had been talking about with DJ-P0n 3. What was it called? Club Tropicana. Yes. That was it. Finding the landline and the phone number, the orange mare turned the dial on the house phone. It took forever to dial with this phone, but it was the only phone Equestria had. It was either that or send a note, which probably took longer. Deciding on the latter, the orange mare continued to make her reservation for tonight. Once booked, Applejack went back to work.

“Applejack,” Big Mac called to his sister.

“Yeah Mac,” she responded calmly.

“We got a problem,” the stallion stated.

“What is it this time,” Applejack sighed.

Noticing the contraption in the middle of the barn, Applejack growled. This was her younger sibling’s doing. Calling for her little sister, she fought the urge to buck this thing all the way to Timbucktu. Sure, the orange mare admired her sister’s talent for building things, but this wasn’t the place to test them out. Applejack and Big Mac already had enough trouble with the harvest and this would just add to that problem. Hearing little hoofsteps, Applejack stood with a stern look on her face as she saw Applebloom turn the corner.

“Applebloom,” the mare said, crossed, “What did I tell y’all about building those darn contraptions ‘verywhere, ‘specially in the barn.”

“Sorry Applejack,” the yellow filly said, “Won’t happen again. Promise.”

“Ya said that last time Apple Bloom,” Applejack warned, “If it does happen one more time, Ah’m gonna ban ya from the barn, alright?”

“But---”

“But nothing Applebloom,” the orange Earth mare stated sternly, “Ah don’t want to see this again. Understand?”

“Got it,” the filly whimpered, “Ah’ll go take it out and destroy it.”

“Good,” the elder sister responded, “I don’t mind ya tinkering, but not here. Big Mac and Ah got a harvest to get done and we don’t need a lesson in how to use the dang thing right now. Ah’m already behind now. Go on. Get. Ah’ll talk more with ya later.”

“Okay,” Applebloom said as she pulled the contraption from the barn and out the doors.

“Now,” Applejack sighed, “Let’s get this show on the road. Big Mac, yer gonna take the west field and Ah’m gonna take the east one. Hopefully get all the apples done in a few hours. Ah got somewhere to be tonight.”

“Eeyup,” Big Mac replied.

As the day drug on, Applejack continued to ponder what was ahead for her. She had never considered a date with Rainbow Dash until now, but it was happening. What was she going to do? She couldn’t ask Granny Smith. Applejack knew that her elder wasn’t too fond of the idea. It would take Applejack hours to convince Granny that she wasn’t a bad pony, just felt more of mares than she did for stallions. It wasn’t as taboo as it was back then because now ponies were more open-minded to the idea of two mares or two stallions together. To be honest, Applejack had never really perished the thought. However, she had never really seen herself being a “fillyfooler.” It seemed odd to her. Continuing her thought process throughout most of the day, the time passed and it was nearing the time for her date.

Ah’ve got an hour to get ready fer this, Applejack pondered, Ah don’t know what Ah’m gonna wear. What should Ah wear? Maybe that dress that Rarity got me for Hearth’s Warming. That’s too fancy...Hm. Maybe that dress that Ah got from Mac that one year. Yeah. It is simple and it’ll be perfect for this.

Opening her closet, Applejack grabbed the off-white summer dress. It was a perfect fit and was just right for this date. Brushing her mane and tail, she removed her faithful hair ties and Stetson. Setting her hat down on her bedpost, the orange mare sighed. She was not ready for this first date. It seemed like it might be her last because of the nerves that she had. The mare looked at the wooden clock that was above the threshold of her door. It was time. She had to be at that club in ten minutes. Running, she headed out the door without really saying goodbye to anyone. Right now all she could focus on was the date that would be waiting for her. Finally reaching Rainbow Dash’s home, Applejack shouted up at her with some flowers in hoof. This was her defining moment as a marefriend to the cyan Pegasus.

“Hey AJ,” Rainbow Dash called down as she began her descent towards the orange Earth pony.

Once Rainbow reached Applejack’s level, the Earth pony felt a small peck on her cheek. A familiar rush of warmth brushed her freckled cheeks red. This was a start to their first date. Trying to find the right words, Applejack just spit out nonsense. Hearing Rainbow Dash giggle, the orange mare’s ears pinned to the back on her head.

“Come on,” the cyan Pegasus said, “We should get going. I don’t want to be late for our reservation. It is hard to get into this place.”

“You’re right,” Applejack replied, finally able to form a complete sentence, “Come on sugarcube. By the way, ya look mighty nice this evening.”

“So do you,” Rainbow responded uncharacteristically.

Alright, Applejack wondered, how am Ah supposed to get through this date? Ah’m at a loss for words and can’t even think straight. Ah ain’t ready for this ‘ere date. Ah must seem like fool in front of ‘er. What am Ah supposed to do?

The two walked in silence towards their destination. Applejack just couldn’t find the right words to say. It had become painfully awkward for the two on this first date. The Earth pony’s pulse was rushing and she felt herself shaking. Despite the amount of times the two had spent together as friends, nothing had prepared Applejack for this. It seemed that nothing could have prepared her for this.

Once they arrived, the young couple walked up to the hostess stand and were greeted by a young tan mare with the hearts as her cutie mark. Stating the reservation name, the Pegasus led the two to their table and set down the menus on the table. Applejack thanked the young Pegasus and pulled out the chair for Rainbow Dash. Once the cyan mare sat down in her chair, Applejack pushed her toward the table and sat down across from her. The music wasn’t too bad at the moment, but that was due to it being too early to party.

The two struck up a conversation and continued the night in semi-peace. Applejack often found herself laughing at Rainbow’s joke and captivated by the cyan Pegasus’ stories that Applejack had never heard before. Finally, the date was almost completed and it had been going great. Applejack’s nerves had finally gone away as the night had continued and the conversations had become more casual. The orange Earth pony had realized fairly quickly that despite their label, the two of them had always had these feelings for each other and they were still friends. It didn’t matter that they had labeled themselves as a couple. The Earth mare found herself barely talking, but rather listening.

Once the date had finished, Applejack paid for dinner and the two walked out the door as the party began to arrive. The two walked out, nearly touching flanks. As they walked out the door, Rainbow Dash pulled Applejack towards her and kissed her on the lips. Returning the kiss, the orange mare felt her heart leap from her chest. That was the first time she had ever felt like this. Truly happy. Of course, that happiness was short lived as she heard a short cough coming from an old mare. It was one of Granny Smith’s homophobic friends from the church they went to.

“Oh shit,” Applejack gasped.

Author's Notes:

Hello everyone!

Yes. I went and completed this chapter. Mind you I'm a bit rusty at writing this fanfiction and wanted to end this chapter with a bang. I'm going to continue to work on this from time to time, but I've got fanfictions on another site. So, I'll work on this from time to time.

I'm just going to say this before the comments go into this.

It will take time to upload the chapters. This one has no edits and will be fairly weird throughout. Please correct my grammar as I am blind to my own errors. And no that last statement was not sarcastic.

Enjoy this chapter for now.
