Please be informed that this fic is an alternate ending to the grim dark fic 'Cupcakes' by Sgt. Sprinkles. The first few paragraphs are entirely their work, to connect their content to my alternate ending. The entirety of that author's story can be found here. Though i’d really suggest staying as far away from it as you can,but it’s your call.

An enduring friendship.

Chapter 1
Pinkamena’s defeat

"Dash. Daaash. Wake up." Rainbow Dash managed to give her a modicum of weak acknowledgment.

Pinkie reached into the medicine bag and produced a large syringe.

"Alright, time for the last round."

Dash looked at the needle, and Pinkie took that as a question as to what it was.

"Something to take the pain away." she informed as she walked around to Dash's ruined back side. She stuck the needle into the lower part of her spine. Dash flinched.

Coming to the front again, she told her friend, "In a few minutes, you won't be able to feel anything below your ribcage. Then you'll be able to stay awake to watch the harvest."

Dash started to cry again.

"Pinkie." she trembled out.

"Yeah?"
"I want to go home." she openly sobbed.

"Yeah, I can see wanting to do that." the party pony replied. "Sometimes, I just wanna give up, say 'I'm done with this mess' and go to bed. But you know what? You can't shrug off your responsibilities. You got to pull yourself up and meet the challenges head on. That's the only way you're gonna get ahead in life."

Dash cried.

Minutes passed and the drug took affect. Dash was numb from her chest to her flanks. Aware of this, Pinkie approached with her scalpel.

Suddenly, the door to the room burst open, and Pinkie whipped around to face the intruder.

It was the all of the others. “Pinkie,what in Equestria are you doing!” Screamed Twilight Waking further into the basement. “You’d better put that scaple down now,before we have to do something we’ll regret!” Threaten Applejack following behind Twilight. “Oh really?” Laughed Pinkie looking at her other friends with a smile on her face. “I’m afraid i can’t do that sugarcube.” Continued Pinkie mocking Applejack’s voice at the nickname sugarcube. “You see Dashie’s number has come up. Yes it has,Yes it has” The pink pony said laughing and jumping up and down.

“Enough of this nonsense,Some pony grab her!” Scream Rarity charging at her friend one of the knives from the table being levitated by her horn. “Right!” Exclaimed Applejack also charging the pink earth pony spinning around to buck Pinkie in the face. “Oops missed me.” Taunted Pinkie laughing dodging and swinging the scaple at Rarity. Just missing her by centimeters. “Ugh!” Moaned out Pinkie a second later. Applejack’s and Rarity’s attack has distracted Pinkie just enough for Twilight to sneak into the fight,and catch Pinkie from behind. “Good but not good enough.” Sang Pinkie as she stabbed the scaple into Twilight’s flank cutting into the the meat,and tearing a piece off,and eating it once she had escaped Twilight reach. “Ooh Twilight you taste super duper yummy. You’re going to make some good cupcakes now that your number’s up as well.” Pinked Mumbled though the meat.

“There ain’t gonna be no more cupcakes after we’re though with you,you sicko! Snapped Applejack catching the earth pony from behind,and trying her up with some rope from one of the table,and knocking pinkie out cold with one last kick to her head. “Is she dead?” Whispered Fluttershy finally entering the room,and looking down at her friend’s limp body. I don’t think so.” Said Twilight feeling for Pinkie’s pulse. “Oh by Celestia! Rainbow what has she done to you.” wailed Rarity hugging the Pegasus’s broken body.

“Quickly we’ve got to get her to the hospital at once!” Ordered Twilight. Cutting the restrains off the the Pegasus,and lifting her body onto her back. Applejack with Pinkie’s. “Twi, You gonna be okay with that leg?” Asked Applejack as they headed out of Sugarcube corner. “I’ll be just fine.” Winced Twilight. “As long as we get to the hospital before i bleed out too much.”

Ponyville urgent care,five minutes later

“Oh sweet Celestia!” Screamed the secretary vomiting into the trash can next to the desk as the four ponies raced into the hospital. With the other two on their back. “Doctor!” She screamed. “ Oh by Equestria!”Gasped the doctor as he seen the sight. “Quickly get those three into the E.R Stat!” Ordered the doctor noticing that Twilight’s flank was bleeding heavily. “What happened?” Commanded the doctor of the three remaining pony in the waiting room. The girls began to explain.”

An hour later.

The doctor vomited again and again as the gruesome story began to sink in. “Cupcakes,Oh by sweet Celestia! Pinkie Pie has been turning ponies into cupcakes!” Screamed the doctor a fresh wave of vomiting hit him hard. “Well it seems like we have finally gotten our answer to the disappearances of the last few months.” Said Princess Luna shaking her head slowly. Who would have thought that Pinkie had that kind of evil in her.” Finished the younger of the two royal pony sisters wiping her eyes. Luna had been sent in place of her older sister to reply to the letter Applejack had sent the princess telling her that Twilight,Rainbow,and Pinkie were in the hospital,and that Pinkie and Rainbow may not survive.

“Yes,I mean she has always seem so sweet and innocent.” Cried Fluttershy collapsing to the floor and breaking down. “And now we might lose two of our friends!” Sobbed the yellow Pegasus.”Oh Fluttershy honey don’t worry. They’ve got Pinkie in a room,and Rainbow’s in the O.R.I’m sure everything gonna be alright.” Said Applejack hugging Fluttershy,and crying a bit herself. “I assure you dearest Fluttershy. We shall get to the bottom of this. We’ll get the answers from Pinkie.Then make sure she gets the help that she needs.” Said Luna also hugging the Pegasus. “Um, I hate to bother you Princess,but Pinkie Pie has woken up. Said one of the orderlies to the Princess. “Thank you,now then girls. Let us go get Twilight and get the answers we’re looking for.

As the orderly opened the door the sight shocked each pony. Pinkie had been put in a straightjacket and put into a padded cell,and now the pink earth pony was crying her eyes out trying to beat her self to death against the wall. Failing miserably. “Pinkie! Stop it!” Ordered Princess Luna grabbing Pinkie and holding her down. “Now explain yourself. What is the meaning of all these murders you’ve committed. Why have you been turning ponies into cupcakes. The pink pony turn to the princess and screamed. “I swear Luna! It was’nt me! It was Pinkamena! She broke out a few months back i’ve been trying to control her,but she’s been breaking out,and doing doing!” Pinkie suddenly broke into a fit of tears and finished her sentence. “All those things to every pony,and now she might have killed Dashie! Oh please sweet Celestia make it stop! I just want to die!” She then tried to break free of Luna’s hold,and continue her sad attempts at suicide.

“Pinkie stop it!” Screamed Applejack slapping Pinkie across the face. “What if Rainbow does’nt die. Then what will your death accomplish. You’re only letting Pinkamena win. Now fight her Pinkie. Fight!” Ordered Applejack hugging her friend “Come on every pony! Give Pinkie a hug! Let’s show her we’re her with her to help her fight though this darkness!” “Right!” Said the others hugging on to their friend with all there might. Suddenly a light shot out of Twilight’s horn,and the elements of harmony appeared around each of there necks. Applejack gasped. Looking at the necklace around Pinkie’s neck. “Laugher that’s it! Girls sing!” Ordered Applejack.

“What sing?” The others exclaimed. “Yes sing the song Pinkie sang to us when we we’re in the everfree forest and Nightmare Moon tried to scare us with the trees. It’ll help Pinkie break the hold on her mind i just know it.” Explained Applejack beginning to sing. Her element necklace beginning to glow. The other’s began to sing and as they did,their necklaces began to glow as well. “Pinkie began to break though at “You gotta stand up tall learn to face you fears.” and began to sing with the others,and as she did she began to rise. Her coat getting pinker and pinker. Her mane and tail beginning to regain it’s puffiness,and suddenly a “No!” Was heard,and Pinkie fell to the floor passed out. The elements had worked. Pinkamena was gone.

Two hours later. Pinkie’s new hospital room.

“Look i think she’s coming to.” Said Luna every pony gathered around Pinkie’s bed,but Rainbow who still had not come out of the Operating room. “Guys what’s happened? Asked Pinkie confused lying her head back into her pillows. Well Pinkie it kinda goes like this.” Said Twilight Explaining the past few hours of events as she knew them. “So Pinkamena is gone forever?” Said Pinkie smiling at the purple Unicorn. “Yes Pinkie,She’s gone just like Nightmare moon. Our alter egos will never haunt us,or harm any pony again.” Said Luna hugging Pinkie tightly as the pink pony became to openly sob.

“Thank Equestria it’s over,but what about Dashie? Is she going to be alright?” Every pony looked down. “About that Pinkie.” Sobbed Twilight. taking a breath in. “Rainbow Dash is going to live.” Said the doctor. Coming into the room. “However she’ll never been the same again. We were unable to save her wings. even if we were to sew them back onto the joints,she would’nt have any feeling in them they’d be useless.I’m sorry to say,but Rainbow dash will never fly again. Your other self did quite a number on your friend Miss Pie. I’m just glad that it was not you,and that both you and Rainbow are going to come out of this mess alive.” Pinkie bit down on her lower lip. Tears beginning to prick at her eyes. Would you like to go see her?

Chapter 2
Forgiveness for Pinkie, Rainbow’s challenge

“Yes!” Exclaimed Pinkie jumping up a little too quickly, and becoming faint. “Yes, you’re going to have to watch it for a few days. Even though your attempts to kill yourself were unsuccessful you still have a little damage to your head from when Applejack kicked you in the head, and you slamming you head against a wall, no matter how much padding it had did do some damage. so I’m going to have to insist you stay at least a couple more days.

That way we can see if you did any permanent damage. After all you’ve been though a lot tonight. I’m proud of you Pinkie pie. Not any pony can fight off an alter ego like you did even with the help of her friends.” Said the doctor helping Pinkie up, and into a wheelchair. Wheeling it towards Rainbow Dash’s room. The other’s following behind.

Rainbow room a couple minutes later.

“No!” Screamed the sky blue Pegasus throwing her arms up in front of her, to block out the face of the one that had just been brought in to see her. “Rainbow, calm down sugar cube. Pinkie’s not gonna hurt you, i swear. “Said Applejack as her and the others entered to room. “Easy for you to say Applejack you didn’t get tortured and nearly killed by that sicko! Some pony, any pony throw her in a padded cell, throw her in a prison, do something, but please for Celestia’s sake keep Pinkie pie away from me! I don’t want to die!” Screamed Rainbow beginning to flail in her bed. Trying to escape.

Blood began to soak though her bandages as her wounds were torn open afresh, and she screamed in pain. “Nurse! Quickly, you got to sedate her before she’s does more damage!” Screamed the doctor, as the nurse ran over, and injected a strong pain killer into the Pegasus’s body causing her to fall asleep almost instantly. “It would seem that it’s going to be awhile before Rainbow Dash is ready to see Pinkie. “Said the doctor turning Pinkie’s wheelchair around, and taking the pink earth pony back to her room.

Ponyville urgent care. That night.

In two different room. The two ponies thrashed in the sleep. Both having the same horrible nightmare, but in two different positions. One the victim and one the torturer. Pinkie’s breaths came out in little quick pants as she respoke the words that would bring horror to the blue Pegasus. “So you can stay awake and watch the harvest.” Laughed Pinkamena in the dream. “We get to spend you’re final moment’s together, Dashie. Wont that be fun?” Continued the crazed alter ego. Meanwhile in Rainbow’s room “The Pegasus’s breath came out in the same short pants as Pinkie’s. Moaning her lines to this horrid play. “Whatever it is i did Pinkie I’m sorry! “Cried Rainbow. Rolling in her sleep. Please if our friendship meant anything to you, please don’t do this!”

The pink earth pony came up behind her with the hacksaw. “You know Dashie, I’ve always wondered why they call this a hacksaw, and it doesn’t hack. Hacking was what i was doing before.” Said Pinkamena repeating the hacking of the knife. Before continuing to remove Rainbow’s wings. “No!” Screamed Rainbow as she bolted up. Face covered in sweat. In the other room Pinkie had also woken from the nightmare in the same fashion.

The two ponies friend’s had heard the screams and had hurried toward their friend. Having already agreed that Twilight, and Rarity would take Pinkie, and Fluttershy and Applejack would take Rainbow. “Hey sugarcube, it’s gonna be all right there Rainbow, it was all just a nightmare.” Soothed the orange earth pony rubbing Rainbow’s back. Careful not to touch the stubs of what were once Rainbow’s beautiful wings.

“There, there Pinkie soothed Twilight in the same fashion as Applejack was to Rainbow, but without having to watch for anything. “It was all a dream. Let it out. She’s gone, i swear.” Twilight hugged Pinkie, and said “Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.” Repeating the chant of the Pinkie promise. “Please, don’t say cupcake. Twilight, but I’m glad you made me a Pinkie promise. I really do hope Pinkamena’s never coming back.” Cried Pinkie, as she returned the hug, and laid back into her pillows. Stay here for the night will you girls?” Asked Pinkie as she closed her eyes. “We promise” Said Rarity and Twilight together.

“Why did she have to do that to me?” Wailed Rainbow, as the event in the other room took place “Now Rainbow hush now. We told you that it wasn’t Pinkie that did those horrible things to you. It was Pinkamena.” Said Applejack “But Pinkie could have fought her,could’nt she have, but no, and now I’m not even myself anymore, how can i call myself a Pegasus, if i don’t even have my wings. “Pinkie took them from me. Without them you might as well of left me in that basement to die. “Sobbed Rainbow staring at the bandaged area that was once where her wings were.

“Now Rainbow, Don’t say things like that. We could have never abandoned you to die in that horrid place. Wingless or not you’re still you, you’re still Rainbow Dash, you’re still one of our best friends for life, and we’ll get through this together. I swear. Cried Fluttershy embracing her best friend since she was a Filly. “How i wish i could believe you, Fluttershy. How i wish i could.” Cried Rainbow putting her head down and falling back to sleep.

Two Hours later. Almost sunrise.

“There’s got to be something we can do sister!” Argued Luna “You know that we cannot, there is no magic which can repair what has been done to Rainbow. It is tragic, but she must endure it, and move on. Although there is one thing i can think of.” Said Celestia a grin on her face as she said the last part, and took off back towards Canterlot.

Sunrise"

“Princess Celestia!” Exclaimed Fluttershy as the Princess walked into Rainbow’s Room. Followed by two young pegasi. One cloud blue another sun yellow, both of them were wearing goggles around their necks that had a lightning bolt in the center. It was Spitfire and Soarin. The captains of the wonderbolts. “Oh Celestia, so this is what you were talking about Princess?” Said Soarin as he put his hoof on the forehead of the girl who he had met at the gala, when she had saved his pie.

“Indeed Soarin. As you can see Rainbow Dash has had her wings cut off. She will never fly again. Perhaps with the damage done to her back hoofs, she may never ever walk again. “Princess we’ll do it. It’d be an honor.” Said Spitfire turning to the Princess with tears in her eyes. Rainbow saved my life once. It’s the least i could do for her. Finished the yellow Pegasus. Walking out of the room with her partner to get the surprise that would surely make Rainbow feel better.

Ponyville urgent care a few hours later.

“Hey Rainbow we have a surprise for you.” Said Rarity a big smile lighting up the unicorns face. Rarity, if you’ve made me another dress.” Began Rainbow before she was cut off by a hug from Spitfire and Soarin. “Rainbow Dash, we heard what happened to you, and so we’ve decided to make you an honorary wonderbolt. You deserve it hun. I wish you all the best. Get well soon.” Said Spitfire handing Rainbow a blue box with a yellow ribbon.

Rainbow opened it, and inside it was a wonderbolt’s uniform with matching goggles.” Put em on Rainbow. I wanna see what you look like in those goggles.” Said Soarin grabbing the goggles, and putting them over rainbow’s head. “Oh wow Rainbow. The fit you perfectly” Said Fluttershy as Spitfire held up a mirror for Rainbow, so she could see what she look like in the goggles. “What can i say that can express how happy i am right now?” Cried Rainbow lowering the goggles to wipe the tears from her eyes.

“I’m so happy Rainbow.” Said Spitfire giving Rainbow one last hug, and turning around. Well I and Soarin have got to get back to Canterlot for a show, but listen Rainbow. I want you to prove em wrong okay. You might never fly again, but show them that you will walk again, okay for me? “Said Spitfire “You’ve got it Spitfire. Said Rainbow as the Pegasi left the room, and took off back for Canterlot.

Rainbow’s room a few hours later.

“Everything seems to be fine Rainbow. Your heart rate and nervous system don’t seem to have been affected by the shocks you endured, your cutie marks are healing quite well, and from the fact that you can feel pain in your right leg again. I have to say that the muscle has begun to grow back. Now just two more things to do before you can be released.” Said the Doctor cheerfully.

“And what are those?” Asked Rainbow curious. “Show us whether or not you will be able to walk again, and try to rebuild your friendship with Pinkie pie.” Said the doctor. “What!” Screamed Rainbow. “No way. I will never forgive her for what she has done to me, whether it was her or this Pinkamena. I don’t care. I’m never letting her back into my life, not after what she’s taken from me.” Said Rainbow once again looking at the stubs where her wings should be.

“Rainbow, listen to me.” Said Twilight grabbing Rainbow’s head, and turning it toward her. Pinkie is sorry. You don’t know how much. Last night when Aj and Fluttershy were in here with you. I and Rarity were in with Pinkie, and she had the same nightmare Dash. She’s going to have to deal with this for the rest of her life, just like you, and she’s so sorry for what Pinkamena did to you. I’m sure that if you asked her, she would give you anything to make up for what happened to you. I’m sure of it.” Finished Twilight beginning to cry.

“And what if this had happened to you, Huh Twilight? Could you forgive Pinkie for torturing you almost to death, and taking away the one thing that made you? your horn, with how much you love magic I’m certain that you wouldn’t forgive Pinkie for taking away your horn, and your ability to do magic, and I’m not going to forgive her for taking away my wings, because of her i will never fly again, because of her I’ll never be able to do what i love again, and because of her I’m never going to feel whole again. I will never forgive her!” Said Rainbow Dash screaming the last part at the top of her lungs, to the point that Pinkie could hear her in the other room.

“I, i don’t want to live anymore.” Sobbed Pinkie pie getting out of bed, and looking for anything that she could kill herself with. Pills, a knife, an empty syringe, anything. That could end her life, and end the pain. “Dashie would be better off without me, every pony would be better off without me.”Sobbed Pinkie collapsing on the floor having found nothing that she could use. The doctors having taken anything she could use out of the room, as she had tried to commit suicide in her padded cell.

Pinkie walked over to Rainbow room slowly. Thinking about what would be the last thing she would say to her friends, before she would pass into that peaceful darkness, and never awaken.
“Pinkie what are you doing over here?” Asked Twilight, before noticing the depressed look on Pinkie’s face. Pinkie smiled once before she spoke. “I love you, Dashie. Good bye.” She said before she bit into her tongue, and collapsed to the floor. Blood pouring from her mouth. “Pinkie!” Screamed the others as they rushed to the dying pony’s side. “Doctor!” Screamed Twilight. The doctor had heard her, but the question was would he get to her in time.

Is this the end,An undying friendship

Pinkie walked over to Rainbow’s room slowly. Thinking about what would be the last thing she would say to her friends, before she would pass into that peaceful darkness, and never awaken.

"Pinkie what are you doing over here?" Asked Twilight, before noticing the depressed look on Pinkie's face. Pinkie smiled once before she spoke.

"I love you, Dashie. Good bye." She said before she bit into her tongue, and collapsed to the floor. Blood pouring from her mouth.

"Pinkie!" Screamed the others as they rushed to the dying ponies side. "Doctor!" Screamed Twilight. The doctor had heard her, but the question was would he get to her in time.

Chapter 3

Is this the End? Undying friendship.

“Oh by Celestia! Nurse get Pinkie to the Operating room at once. She’s bitten off her tongue!” The nurse grabbed Pinkie’s body, and put it on a gurney. Then two orderlies rushed her off to the Operating room. They only hoped that it wasn’t too late.

Twilight watched as the nurses wheeled Pinkie away sending a silent prayer to Celestia before turning on Rainbow.

“Now see what you’ve gone, and done Rainbow! Your hurt feelings towards Pinkamena may have just cost Pinkie her life! I don’t get you sometimes! You didn’t even let her have the chance to say she was sorry, you just instantly blamed everything on Pinkie! Instead of listening to us, and accepting that it was Pinkamena!”

“You said before that she could have held her back, but you’re wrong! Just as Princess Luna couldn’t hold back Nightmare moon, Pinkie couldn’t hold back Pinkamena! A spilt personality isn’t something you can just turn off Rainbow! It’s another part of you that you were born with, or sometimes your brain causes it because something has caused a massive trauma in your life, and whatever the reason was for Pinkamena! Pinkie pie couldn’t control her! Any more then you could have controlled the wind!” Screamed the unicorn storming out of the room, and heading after the others. Hoping that somehow Pinkie was going to be okay.

“What have I done?” Sobbed Rainbow

“Perhaps if you look deep inside yourself, you’ll find the answers you seek. Young Rainbow Dash.” Said Princess Celestia walking up to Rainbow, and sitting next to her.

“I don’t know if I can Princess. You heard what I said about Pinkie, and now. Oh Princess, if she dies. I’m never going to be able to forgive myself.” Sobbed Rainbow onto the Princess shoulder.

“Now Rainbow Dash. Listen, you’re a strong gifted young Pegasus, and even though you’ll never fly again, I’m certain you’ll find a way though, and perhaps you’ve learned a little about friendship. To stay with your friends, and to forgive them, no matter what they’ve done to you, if they are truly sorry. Like Pinkie pie is.” Said the Princess hugging the Pegasus, and helping her onto the floor.

“Now then, let’s go see if Pinkie is okay, and maybe you might be able to walk there.” Said the Princess Smiling at Rainbow.

“I’ll try.” Said The Pegasus taking an unsure step forward.

“Very good Rainbow.” Said Celestia patting the Pegasus on the shoulder, now let’s see if you can make it the operating room.” Said Princess Celestia. As they walked out the door of Rainbow’s room, and towards the operating room.

The operating room’s waiting room. Twenty minutes later.

“There we go.” Said Celestia as her and Rainbow crossed into the waiting room, and every pony came to Rainbow’s side.

“Well I’ll be.” Said Applejack patting Rainbow on the flank. You’re back up and walking.” Finished Applejack helping the princess help Rainbow into a seat.

“Yep well I guess it was just how worried I am for Pinkie.” Said Rainbow surprising every pony in the room, besides Princess Celestia.

“But you said you were never going to forgive her for taking your wings away.” Said Rarity smiling.

“Yes I did, but what Pinkie did back there. What Twilight said to me afterwards, and what the Princess here said. All helped me to see that it really wasn’t Pinkie’s fault, and no matter what. I hope she comes out of that O.R alive.” Said Rainbow Dash looking at the door to the operating room, and sighing.

The Operating room’s waiting room. Two hours later.

“We got her here just in time.” Said the doctor. She’s not going to die as long as.” Began the doctor. Looking at Rainbow seriously.

“As long as Rainbow here is willing to give her a blood transfusion. She lost a lot of blood, and only Rainbow Dash’s blood type matches Pinkie’s of the ponies here. Sadly Pinkie’s blood type is AB-. An extremely rare blood type, so we never have much of it in storage, and we’re out. We used the last of it when we brought you in because you Rainbow Dash are type AB- as well. Pinkie’s life is in your.”

“I’ll do it!” Said the Pegasus. “It’s my fault Pinkie’s in there in the first place, and I’m not going to let my friend die! Not while I have a say in it!”

Rainbow’s and Pinkie’s Room five minutes later.

Tears pricked from the Pink earth pony’s eyes when she saw who it was who was giving her their blood.

“Ya Pinkie It’s me. I forgive you, and I swear I’m not going to let you die.” Cried Rainbow as their eyes locked and they both openly cried.

“I love you Dashie, I’m so sorry.” Mumbled out Pinkie around the stitches that held her tongue in her mouth.

"I’m sorry too Pinkie. We’ll always be friends. No matter what.” Said Rainbow Dash before the pain killers took their effect, and both Pinkie and Rainbow fell asleep.

Rainbow’s and Pinkie’s room. An hour later.

“They’ve been asleep for a while now.” Said Luna sounding worried a bit.

“Don’t worry your highness. Their bodies need time to recover from the loss of blood on both their parts. I assure you Princess, give it some time and they’ll both be fine.” Said the doctor going to deal with some other ponies.

“Wow, she really is the spirit of loyalty.” Cried Fluttershy as she put her hoof on Rainbow’s shoulder, and began to cry.

“And Rainbow Dash, who could not abandon her friends for her own heart’s desire represents the spirit of loyalty.” Said Twilight repeating the words that she had said on that day almost a year before, and looking at the harmony necklace with the lightning bolt ruby encrusted in it. Putting it around the Pegasus’s neck.

“We really are such close friends aren’t we?” Said Twilight looking down at her harmony tiara which was a purple jewel shaped it the sign of her cutie make, same as all the others. Applejack’s an orange jewel apple, Pinkie’s a sapphire balloon, Flutter shy’s a pink diamond butterfly, and Rarity’s the same color stone as her’s but in the shape of a diamond.

“Indeed you are. Your friendship has seen you though, so much. My dearest student Twilight. You and your friends. Together defeated Nightmare moon, and saved Equestria from never ending night, your friendship faced a powerful challenge when you faced Discord, but it helped you to defeat him as well. Saving Equestria once again, but that time from never ending chaos, and now I believe it will see you though this challenge as well.” Said Princess Celestia sitting down in one of the chairs in the room.

“You know girls. Singing helped us get through to Pinkie before let’s see if it will work again.”

“Yeah!” Said the others.

“Girls join hands.” Ordered Twilight, pushing Pinkie’s and Rainbow’s beds close enough together so that there hoofs could touch as well. When it was finished that began to sing “A circle of pony friends, one of the hearth’s warming eve carols.

“Hey aren’t you forgetting a couple of people of ponies?” Said Luna grabbing Rarity, and Rainbow’s hoofs.

“Indeed we are their friends as well.” Said Celestia doing the same, but getting between Twilight and Pinkie.

“Princess Celestia, Princess Luna. Of course how could we have forgotten about you two?” Said Twilight before they began again.

“Let’s go girls” Said Rarity.

“The fire of friendship lives in our hearts. As long as it burns we cannot drift apart. The quarrels arise their numbers are few. Laughter and singing will see us though, will see us though. We are a circle of pony friends, a circle of friends. We’ll be till the very end.” Sang all of them again and again.

Five minutes later.

A small moan from Pinkie caught the attention of the six ponies around them, and they looked to see that both Rainbow and Pinkie were waking up.

“A circle of friends. Ya that is what we are isn’t it. Said Rainbow turning to Pinkie, and giving her hoof a squeeze.

“Yep, and we always will be Dashie.” Cried Pinkie. Returning the squeeze, before the two joined their friends for one more round of the carol.

“Well it’s getting late, and we have business to attend to in Canterlot, before the summer sun celebration begins next week. I trust you girls will be in attendance.” Saying Princess Celestia standing and giving each of the six ponies best friends hugs.

“Of course we’ll be there Princess. We wouldn’t miss it for the world.” Said Twilight returning the hug when it was her turn. “Excellent, Well then girls. Be safe, and keep Rainbow and Pinkie out of trouble.” Said the Princess of the sun. Turning to leave. Her sister following behind her.

Rainbow’s release, the summer sun celebration

Six days later. Ponyville urgent care.

“Carefully.” Said the doctor as two orderlies cut the stitches off of the two ponies. One doing Pinkie’s tongue, The other Rainbow’s cutie marks.

“Now this may sting.” Said the orderlies to the girls. As they began to pull the cut stitches away from the healed flesh. Both Rainbow and Pinkie winced at they did so. Pinkie more however. Being that the area was a much more sensitive one then Rainbow’s.

“It would seem that your tongue could have used more time to heal, Miss Pie.” Said the doctor looking over the organ, but as long as you don’t talk too much or too fast, then it should be fine.” Said the doctor. Looking at Pinkie’s charts.

“Talk too much or too fast. Just great the two things Pinkie does the most.” Said Rainbow looking over at her friend, and giving her a warm smile.

“With the doctor’s permission. I know some medical magic; maybe i can help Pinkie’s tongue to heal the rest of the way?” Suggested Twilight looking at the doctor for his reaction.

“You are the Princess student, I’m certain you’ll do a fine job. Yes you have my permission.” Said the doctor nodding.

“Now on to you Rainbow dash.” Said the doctor walking over to Rainbow. A nurse following him with a tub of plaster and some bandages.

“I want to have you in casts for the next couple of weeks, Okay. Just to insure your back hoofs don’t get worse.” Explained the doctor, as the nurse wrapped Rainbow’s back legs in the bandages, and put them in the plaster. Another bringing out a wheelchair.

“Oh no!” Said the blue Pegasus. Pointing at the wheelchair as the orderlies kept her from falling down, as she stood in the tub of plaster. “If i can’t walk out of here on my own, then I’m not leaving at all.” Finished Rainbow her arms now acrossed her chest.

“Rainbow, if you’re not in a wheelchair then the casts will break, and they will have been pointless. I know how you feel. You’re a proud young lady, and rightfully so, but you cannot allow your pride it get it the way of your path to recovery.” Said the Doctor firmly.

“Come on Rainbow. No need of causing a fuss. Now let’s go put your wonderbolt’s uniform on. You don’t want every pony staring at your injuries, now do you.” Said Applejack helping the Pegasus into the wheelchair, and taking her back into her room.

Outside Ten minutes later.

“Oh Rainbow, It looks so wonderful on you.” Said Spitfire. Coming up and hugging the Pegasus. Spitfire had come down from Canterlot with Soarin, to see Rainbow out of the hospital. “With the way you look in that uniform, I kind of wish that you could of became a true wonderbolt.” Said Spitfire Face hoofing when she seen the damage her words had caused.

“Ya me too.” Said Rainbow beginning to cry.

“Now Rainbow. Come on now cheer up. Let’s go get us something sweet from Sugarcube corner. “

Ya Okay.” Agreed the Pegasus. Smiling a little.

Sugarcube corner ten minutes later.

“Oh Rainbow. I’m so sorry this happened to you.” Said Mr.’s Cake hugging Rainbow and giving her one of the Pegasus’s favorite treats. A blueberry muffin with rainbow icing.

“So you guys have stopped selling cupcakes huh?” Asked Twilight when she noticed that there were no more cupcakes in any of the display cases.

“Oh good heavens yes.” Answered Mr. Cake continuing to sweep the floor. “After we found out what had happened. We threw every single cupcake away, then the royal investigation team came in and cleaned up the basement, all of Pinkamena’s victim’s bodies have been buried, and the families came, and gave them all a funeral. Most of the families wanted Pinkie to be punished, but as Princess Luna was there to witness Pinkamena’s banishment. Princess Celestia wouldn’t hear of it.” He finished as he put the pan and broom away.

“We’re just so glad that you and Pinkie are safe Rainbow, and now we can start putting this horrible mess behind us.” Said Mr.’s Pie Hugging Pinkie, and heading back behind the counter. Leaving the group to eat their food.

Rainbow’s cloud house. An hour later

“Be ready to catch her if she falls Fluttershy. Yelled out Twilight as Rainbow stepped out of the hot air balloon, and touched her feet down on the cloud that soon would be back in Cloudsdale where it belonged.

“Right.” Yelled back Fluttershy a couple of seconds after it was too late.

“It would seem that even without your wings, you can still walk on clouds Rainbow.” Laughed Pinkie bouncing out of the basket after her. Twilight having cast the walking on clouds for three days spell on everyone but Rainbow and Fluttershy again.

“Well I’m just glad that some things are going to stay the same for Rainbow.” Said Rarity following after the other two.

“You sure about this Rainbow? You don’t have to do this you know.” Said one of the movers. That would be moving the cloud back to Cloudsdale.

“ Yes i'm sure. It’d be too much of a hassle to have to use the balloon just to get up and down from Ponyville, nah if i can’t fly then i might as well live on the ground with the others.” Said Rainbow hugging the mover who was an old friend from summer flight camp. “Now then girls let’s hop to it, everything has to go.”

Twilight’s Library a few hours later

“Princess Luna, What are you doing here?” Asked Twilight as her and the others entered the library to decide what Rainbow was going to do until she found a new place to stay.

“We are hearest to invite thee all to stay at Canterlot castle.” Said Luna in the royal Canterlot voice “If’st not all of thou then at least Rainbow and Pinkie.” Finished Luna

“But why Princess?” Asked Pinkie confused. Luna returned to her normal voice.

“It would seem that even though my sister has ordered them to leave you alone, and to simply forgive and forget. Some of the families of the ponies Pinkamena killed are still after you, So Tia and i agreed that it would be safest for you in Canterlot. Where we could keep an eye on you and since Rainbow needs a place to stay. Tia’s not going to take no for an answer from you as well Rainbow.”

“Of course as i said all of you are welcome to come to the castle, and stay with me and Tia, It gets lonely in that big old castle with only each other and the guards for company, But as i said. It’s your choice. We do understand you have your own lives to attend to." Explained Princess Luna “But you’ll have to come up to Canterlot anyways, being your coming to the summer sun celebration. Are you not?” Asked Luna.

“Yes princess we’ll be coming to the summer sun celebration, and we’d be happy to stay with you and Princess Celestia. Until everything blows over. Right girls?” Asked Twilight turning to the others

“I don’t have any dress orders or anything, so yes I’d love to stay at the castle again.” Said Rarity bowing to Princess Luna.

“I’m sure Big Mac and Granny smith can deal with things while I’m gone. Yes I’ll come too” Said Applejack also with a polite bow.

“I don’t really want to leave my animals, but i don’t want to be all alone, so yes I’ll come as well. I’m sure Angel can take care of things for me while I’m gone. “Said Fluttershy the last to answer, and bow to the princess.

“Excellent!” Cheered Luna “Tia will be overjoyed. “Finished Luna as she opened the door, and led the others over to her chariot, and they took off to get the Pony’s things, and let their families, and in the case of Pinkie guardians know. However things didn’t go well with Apple bloom and Sweetie belle.

“Aww, Sis why can’t i come too.” Whined Applebloom, as Applejack came in to collect her things, and tell Big Mac and Granny Smith what was going on.

“Because Applebloom. Rainbow doesn’t need a bunch of fillies jumping up and down around her. Asking a bunch of questions that she nor Pinkie are ready to answer yet, besides what happened to Rainbow is something you don’t need to see until she’s fully healed now scoot.” Said Applejack as she headed out to door.

“But Rarity.” Whined Sweetie Belle as Rarity gather up some thread and fabric, and other things she wanted. “Why can’t i go you’ve gotten to see the castle so many times now? When is it going to be my turn?”

“When Princess Celestia decides to invite you Sweetie Belle, Now hush Rainbow is going to need time to heal before you can see her, The way she looks now is simply dreadful, and it’s not something a filly you age needs to be seeing, now good bye.” Explained Rarity heading out the door.

Back in Luna’s chariot

“Princess, Can we stop by Scootaloo’s house, before we go?” Asked Rainbow.

“Why whatever for Rainbow?” Asked Luna confused.

“I think Scoot needs to see what happened to me, before she has a chance to just sneak into wherever it is i am, and sees what Pinkamena did to me.” Explained Rainbow messing with the wheels of her chair.

“I understand Rainbow.” Said Princess Luna nodding.

Scootaloo’s house a couple minutes later

“Coming.” Said Scootaloo’s mother coming to the door.

“Hi, umm is Scootaloo home?” Asked Rainbow when it was opened and Scootaloo’s mom greeted her.

“Yes, she is.” Said The Orange Pegasus “Please keep it as pleasant as possible Rainbow.” Continued the Pegasus. “I may agree that this is the best way to do it, but i still don’t want her to be scarred by this.” She finished opening the door to Scootaloo’s room

“Hey Rainbow dash.” Squealed Scootaloo when she saw who it was. “Did ya finally get into the wonderbolts; is that the surprise you were talking about with my mom? Why are you in a wheelchair?” Asked Scootaloo noticing the uniform the Pegasus was wearing, but also that her hero was sitting in a wheelchair.

“No i didn’t scoot, and i never will. I know it’s going to be hard, but try not to scream.” Said Rainbow dash taking of her wonderbolts uniform, and the bandages off of the stubs.

“Your wings. “Cried out Scootaloo when she noticed the blood stained stubs, and casts on Rainbow’s legs. “So this is why you’ve been gone, so long. This is why everyponies been talking about you, and Pinkie. Because she cut off your wings.” Cried Scootaloo collapsing on her bed, and sobbing.

“Yes scoot, but listen. Pinkie is better now, okay. She’s not going to hurt anypony anymore okay, but listen Scoot when you get up, and flying, and finally find your cutie mark, just make sure you never take them for granted okay. I loved flying, and i always assumed i was going to be able to fly, but now that I’m not able to anymore, I’d give anything to have that back, so just make sure you take nothing for granted, and live each day like it’s your last, because if not for the others, that day would have been my last day.” Said Rainbow putting her wonderbolts uniform back on. Along with her bandages, giving the Pegasus a hug, and wheeling out of the room.

“I’ll be a wonderbolt someday Rainbow. I’ll do it for you. I promise.” Yelled out Scootaloo as Rainbow began to shut the door.

“I’ll be rooting for you someday then Scoot, make sure you knock em dead.” Said Rainbow closing the door and smiling.

The grand Canterlot Castle five hours later.

“Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie pie, Applejack, and Fluttershy. How wonderful it is to have you here. I do hope you will enjoy yourselves while you are here. Now my servants will show you to your rooms."

Twenty minutes later after everypony seen their room.

“Not again sister! That’s not fair! I swear if this game had a moon level I’d do the same thing to you!” Whined a child sized Luna staring back at her sister, as her pony died having jumped into the sun that Celestia had magically controlled to fly into Luna’s character on super pony brothers 3.

“Oh now come on Luna, it was just a little joke.” Said Celestia hugging her sister.

“Hey Princess Luna ever seen this game.” Said Pinkie pulling out a gold disk a popping it into the game system. “It’s about a hero who has to save the world from a imp who’s stolen a magical mask, and is using it to cause the moon to crash into it in three days.” Laughed Pinkie in Luna’s ear. “Get Princess Celestia to play it and you can get back at her.” Giggled the pink earth pony.

“Oh that is a splendid idea Pinkie.” Whispered Luna back. “Oh Sister, how about we play this game.” Giggled Luna as she handed Celestia the controller.

Ten Minutes later

“Luna! You tricked me!” Screamed Celestia as the fire surrounded the pony hero, and a voice laughed, and on the screen it said “You’ve met with a terrible fate, haven’t you?”

“All’s fair in love and war, dear sister.” Laughed Luna dodging the pillow that was tossed at her. Running away. “Besides you did it to me.”

“That was different.” Claimed Celestia as she chased after her younger sister.

“Oh yeah prove it.” Taunted Luna chucking the pillow back at Celestia, but it hit Twilight Instead.

“Pillow fight!” Cheered out the Purple unicorn, before all descended into chaos.

Sunrise the next morning.

“Hear ye Hear ye, The Princess approaches.” Announced out one of the Guards, as Princess Celestia rose into the sky. Her horn glowing as the beautiful early morning sun followed her up into the sky as she ascended. The Sunrise was complete. Thus began the longest day of the summer.

“All hail our wonderful Princess Celestia.” Said the guard as everypony cheered and bowed before there Princess, bathed in the early morning light.

Five minutes later.

The princess stood at the podium and looked all around at her subject. “I have two announcements to make today.” Said Princess Celestia “Would Princess Luna of Equestria, and Rainbow Dash of Ponyville please join me here on stage. “I Princess Celestia of Equestria do hereby decree that the following two days will become Equestrian holidays, first from this day forth. The twelfth day of this the month of June. Nine days before the summer sun celebration. Will from now on be known as the day of the Shining Rainbow.”

“To honor those whose lives were lost in the Cupcakes killings and to honor their only survivor. Rainbow Dash of Ponyville.” Rainbow bowed before Princess Celestia as she put a metal around Rainbow’s neck and gave her a hug. “No one knows how much pain you’re going through. I hope you’ll be able to find a way to continue on showing such bravery even without your wings.” Said Celestia

“Thank you Princess.” Said Rainbow looking down at her metal tears streaming from her face.

“Second from this day forth. The twenty first day of the month of October shall from now on be known as the Harvest Moon Celebration. In witch Princess Luna of Equestria shall bring fourth the moon, and we shall celebrate the autumn solstice, and the beautiful harvest moon. It has been one year ago today that Princess Luna has returned to us, and on this day the Summer Sun Celebration. I hereby decree that Luna’s place by my side be reinstated completely. She is now as she should have always been joint ruler of Equestria.”

A scribe came forward to Princess Celestia having written down what she had said, and once she had signed it. The scribe proclaimed

“So it is written, and so it shall be. All hail Princess Celestia, all hail Princess Luna!” The crowd’s cheers were deafening, as Princess Luna bowed before the people, and a crown matching Princess Celestia’s was placed on her head, just above the horn.

“Would Princess Luna please address her people?” Said Celestia moving from the Podium, and making room for Luna. “Remember hun, No royal Canterlot voice, we don’t use it anymore okay.” Whispered Celestia in Luna’s ear, and hugging her.

“I don’t know what to say.” Said Luna her voice thick with tears. “It’s been a thousand years since I’ve addressed this land as it’s princess. I’m so happy that my sister has seen fit to reestablish my power. I swear i shall do my best, and never ever let the darkness into my heart again. Before i stand down though i need to address one more person. Would Pinkie Pie of Ponyville. Please come up to the stage, and join Rainbow Dash.” Said Princess Luna looking at the pink earth pony in the crowd.

Once Pinkie had joined them Luna continued. “I need to address something towards everypony in the crowd, especially the ones coming here from Ponyville. As everypony in the crowd is aware of by now Pinkie Pie is the one who was committing the murders now known as the cupcake killings, but i implore you to forgive her, for she too let the darkness into her heart.”

“A darkness known as Pinkamena, and just as it was Nightmare moon, and not me who tried to cover this land in an everlasting night. It was Pinkamena, and not Pinkie Pie who was committing those atrocities, so please as your Princess i am begging you to forgive Pinkie. Yes it hurts i know it. The pain we feel at the loss of a loved one is great, and the rage we feel towards the one who took their life from them is just as great, But Pinkie is not that person, and she does not deserve the hate that those of you who lost loved ones in the cupcake killings are feeling, so please let go of your hate, and try to forget.”

“No I’m not saying to forget your loved ones, not at all. More so asking you to forget the hate that you are feeling because of it. The murderer had been punished, and justice has been done, thank you.” Said Luna stepping down from the podium, and hugging Pinkie. Who was sobbing uncontrollably.

“Thank you so much Luna!” Sobbed Pinkie soaking Luna’s mane in her tears.

“It’s alright Pinkie. You didn’t do anything wrong, and i just wanted to let everypony know, because even though they did two totally different things. I know what it is like to carry in your heart the sins of an alter ego.” Soothed Luna rubbing the pink earth ponies back. “Maybe now together we can heal. You and I.”

Two weeks later.

“Try to walk over here to me, Miss Dash.” Said one of Celestia’s private doctors. Pointing at a hospital bed in which a cast saw set on the top. Rainbow walked swiftly over to the bed, and hopped up, showing just how much she had recovered in the past two weeks.

“Very good, Now Miss Dash.” Said the doctor picking up the saw. “This is a special type of saw. It is made to cut plaster only, so it will not cut your skin.” Explained the doctor turning on the saw, and putting it to his other front hoof. Showing Rainbow that it would not cut her.

“Okay i understand. “Said Dash nodding and turning toward the doctor, so he could reach her casts. The doctor then slowly cut off her casts, and began to inspect the areas where the nails had been hammered in.

“Yes well, they seem to have healed quite nicely. It would seem that because the nails were so hot when they entered your hoofs. That they simply cut right though like a knife through butter, and did very little nerve damage. Yes with the way they’ve healed, and the way your able to walk swiftly again. I have no reason to believe that you will have any problems at all with your back hooves, nor walking.” Said the doctor signaling the nurse to take the wheelchair away.

“I will have someone send the wheelchair back to Ponyville for you. You may go now.” He continued nodding to Rainbow, and waving goodbye.

“Oh wait a moment.” Ordered the doctor waving Rainbow back and bringing a small tub of cream with him. “You may go ahead and remove the bandages when you get back to your room, Miss Dash, and apply this cream to your back ,and cutie marks to prevent infection, and promote skin growth, however if there is anything wrong, and i mean anything i expect you to come back, Okay.” Ordered the doctor handing the cream the Rainbow, and patting her shoulder.

Rainbow’s room

Ten minutes later.

“Well it would seem that everything’s going to end well.” Said Twilight opening the door, and letting the others enter before she followed in, and closed the door.

“Ya, it does doesn’t it.” Said Rainbow beginning to remove her bandages, and sit down on the bed, so that Twilight could put the cream on her back, and inspect the healing skin.

“Hey Rainbow, Do you mind if i do it?” Asked Pinkie taking the tub of cream from Twilight, and walking toward her.

“Why?” Asked Rainbow. Looking at Pinkie worried.

“I want to see you healing, and help you heal too.” Said Pinkie hugging the Pegasus “I want to make up for what Pinkamena did to you. I want to be able to feel like I’m doing as much as i can to help you. I want to see you get better, so that maybe even though you don’t have your wings anymore. Things can start to get back to normal.” Finished the pink earth pony jumping up on Rainbow’s bed, and sitting behind the Pegasus. Waiting for her consent before starting to put the medicine on the healing stubs.

“Pinkie.” Sighed the Pegasus looking at her friend behind her.

“Things will never go back to being the way they were before. I’ve lost my wings, we’re both more than likely going to have the nightmares for the rest of our lives, and even if Luna’s words reached the hearts of the victim’s families. They will never look at you the same again, but if it will help you feel even just that little bit better about what happened. Then yes, I have no reason to stop you.” Said Rainbow nodding.

"Thanks Dashie.” Said Pinkie wiping the beginnings of tears away from her eyes, and rubbing the cream gently against the healing stubs, of what were once Rainbow’s beautiful wings.

Meanwhile in the royal throne room

“Is everything going according to plan sister?” Asked Luna looking down at the blueprints of a beautiful house. Almost matching Rainbow’s old house perfectly.

“Yes indeed they are. The foundation has been set, and the builders are already beginning construction, if all goes well, and no one blabs Rainbow will have a beautiful house as a surprise welcome home present from us. When she returns to Ponyville.” Smiled Celestia rolling up the prints, and locking them up.

“It really is so nice of you to do this for her Tia.” Said Luna following her sister to the vault, and watching her sister lock it. “First a metal, then a holiday, and now a house, if i didn’t know better Tia I’d say you loved her.” Laughed Luna brushing up against her shoulder.

“I do love Rainbow, Luna.” Said Celestia looking at her sister seriously.

“I feel like all six of those girls are my children. After all with the exception of Twilight, Rarity, and Applejack, none of them have any family left. We don’t know what happened to any of them, nor Applejack’s parents, but as soon as they reached maturity their parent’s disappeared, and haven’t been seen since, so i guess in a way i feel sorry for them, and now Rainbow has been though this horrible trial. It just seems like fate has set so many trails in their paths, so maybe with me by their side it’s possible to keep them from being torn apart.” Explained Celestia looking at one of the scrolls Twilight had once sent her. A picture of the six of them together in a close group hug. “I really want to protect them Luna. They may not realize it, but they need each other more than they could ever know.” Said Celestia hugging her sister.

Rainbow’s room, Later that night.

A dark room, the smell of death, and rotting flesh permeated the air. Various organs hung from the wall, and a banner that read “Life is a party!” hung on the wall written in blood.

“Wakey wakey Dashie.” Giggled Pinkamena holding the scalpel. Waving it in found of Rainbow’s face. “It’s time for your farewell party.” Laughed the insane pony. Letting Rainbow take in her surroundings. Before stabbing the scalpel into her heart.

“No!” Screamed Rainbow thrashing around in the bed, and falling out of it. Suddenly the door burst open, and Pinkie dashed into the room to comfort her friend. However the pink earth pony had been in the bath when Rainbow had screamed, and she hadn’t dried her mane or tail, leaving them looking straight. The same style as Pinkamena’s. It was the wrong thing to do.

“Oh no! Please Celestia, no! Not you, anyone but you!” Screamed Rainbow flinging herself into the wall in her haste to escape.

“What are you talking about Dashie?” Said Pinkie coming closer worried for her friend.

“You’re here to finish me. No please, i don’t want to die! Guards, Guards!” Screamed out Rainbow diving under the bed as a guard burst in, and the lamp was turned on.

“What is the meaning of this?” Screamed the guard. Grabbing Pinkie and slamming her to the ground.

“I only came in to help her.” Cried out Pinkie. Struggling against the guard’s hold.

“Oh really then explain this!” Snapped the guard swinging Pinkie to face the mirror. Instantly Pinkie understood.

“Oh no, Dashie I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you. I was taking a bath when i heard you scream, and i guess i didn’t take time to think who i would look like to you with my mane wet.” Said Pinkie her voice full of regret.

“Miss Dash, Do you want me to take her to the Princess?” Asked the guard getting ready to arrest Pinkie.

“No, she’s fine. You can go now.” Answered Rainbow getting to her feet.

“Understood, Miss Dash. I still I’m going to go to the princess, and inform her that this happened.” Said the guard. Turning to leave the room.

“Dashie, are you going to be okay?” Asked Pinkie coming up to Rainbow, and hugging her.

“Yes, but please next time. Make sure your hair is dry, before coming in to save me.” Said Rainbow getting back into bed, and covering up.

“Okay.” Said Pinkie before sitting down on the bed at Rainbow’s feet.

“Hey Rainbow. Can i ask you something?” Said Pinkie nervously.

“What Pinkie?” Answered Rainbow curiously.

“I was wondering if you could tell me what Pinkamena did to you in that basement?” Asked Pinkie “I mean I’m having the nightmares too, but for the most part it’s all a blur, being that i was trapped in the back of my mind when it happened to you. I wouldn’t ask except, i kind of feel like i should know.” Explained Pinkie.

“You really can’t remember?” Asked Rainbow looking at her friend confused. Pinkie shook her head no. “Then yes I’ll tell you. After all you deserve to know what she did to me.” Said Rainbow dash getting her out of bed, and coming to sit in front of Pinkie.

Twenty minutes later.

Pinkie kissed Rainbow on the lips, as the horrifying truth of their story was revealed to the pink earth pony. “Oh Dashie. I’m so sorry that happened to you if only i could have stopped her.” Cried Pinkie kissing the Pegasus again.

“Pinkie, What are you doing?” Asked Rainbow trying to get away from the pink earth pony.

“I’m sorry Dashie, but i need you. I love you, i know that you don’t love me in the same way, but please let me try, and at least, if only for tonight. Let me show you how i feel about you, and show you how sorry i am.” Answered the pink earth pony continuing to kiss her friend.

“Pinkie, I think that maybe i do feel that way about you.” Said Rainbow returning one of the kisses nervously, as if she wasn’t sure of what she was doing.

Ten minutes later.

Celestia opened the door to Rainbow’s room to see if the young Pegasus was all right. She was surprised to find out just how alright Rainbow was.

“I knew this might happen.” Said Celestia as she walked into the room, and stood at the foot of the bed.

“Princess!” Screamed Rainbow “It’s not what it looks like!” Claimed Rainbow as she and Pinkie broke apart.

“Rainbow, it’s all right. Don’t try to hide your feelings, because if you do, they’ll eat you from the inside out.” Said Celestia “You and Pinkie have been dealt truly devastating blows in your life. The most devastating being the most recent one involving both of you and it would seem that for that very reason fate has brought you together. First as friends, now as each other’s very special somepony. Life is not clear sometimes, and i don’t care what others say. One’s very special somepony is not always a stallion for a mare, and is not always a mare for a stallion. Love is a powerful emotion that defies all laws, and reasons. Sometimes it blossoms because of fate, and sometimes it’s because deep down inside you know that you’re meant for each other and that in your case, as in so many others, your love will be what heals the wounds inside of you, and that fate and darkness have carved into your hearts.” Said Celestia wisely embracing the two ponies.

“Here’s something i was once told by someone very wise.” Said Celestia looking at both Rainbow and Pinkie. “The eyes are blind; you have to look with your heart.” Quoted Celestia beginning to cry a little.

“Princess, did you have a very special somepony once?” Asked Pinkie watching as the Princess got up to leave.

“Once, but he died.” Said Celestia opening the door, and getting ready to leave.

“Oh I’m so sorry Princess.” Said Rainbow as both her and pinkie started to tear up.

“Don’t be Rainbow. Love has a way of coming full circle, and finding ways of making us happy again, even if the ones we love are gone, and just remember. Death is another part of life. Those who leave us never wish to see us unhappy.” Said Celestia walking out the door with a smile, and shutting it behind her.

The next morning at sunrise.

“I know it’s not my place to show you, but i feel that you girls would want to know.” Said Celestia opening the door to Rainbow’s room, and letting the others inside.

“Aww, I knew they would find some way to be together.” Cried Fluttershy happily.

“What do you mean Fluttershy?” Asked Rarity. Looking at Pinkie and Rainbow with a smile on her face.

“Rainbow told me after what happened a few weeks back happened. That she had started to develop feelings for Pinkie, but she was afraid to tell anypony else because of what they might say.” Explained Fluttershy wiping her face, and smiling ear to ear.

“But, surely she couldn’t have thought that we would react badly, Could she of?” Asked Twilight looking at her friends

. “Not us, everypony else in town.” Answered Fluttershy

“Why anypony would be upset at Rainbow for having feelings for Pinkie?” Asked Applejack confused.

“Because out of anypony who should hate Pinkie for the cupcake killings it should be me.” Said Rainbow looking at her friends looking a little embarrassed.

“The victim’s families more the likely counted on me to be the one who would call for Pinkie’s imprisonment, after I’m the only victim that could, now aren’t i. Plus because of what Pinkamena did to me, I’m not even a true Pegasus anymore, if anypony has a right to be angry at Pinkie it’s me, but I’m not, because it wasn’t her, and now because of it she’s my very special somepony." Said Rainbow blushing as she wrapped her arms around the still sleeping earth pony.
“Because of what happened. Me and Pinkie are even closer than ever. I love her, and i always will.” Said Rainbow.

“I love you too Dashie.” Said the now awake Pinkie. Kissing her new very special somepony, and smiling at her friends.
