A walk through the town

The morning had started quite eventful. Twilight had woke up thinking it was going to be a great day, only to hear the boy screaming. She had rushed in to see what was wrong, but as soon as she had, he was asleep again. She was confused to say the least, but she decided not to wake him.

An hour or so after that, he came down stairs and sat with Twilight at the breakfast table. Spike was still in bed. She let him sleep in after all the work he did yesterday afternoon. He hadn't seen the boy yet, and she didn't know how he might react. But, she would cross that bridge when she came to it.

The boy didn't drink or eat anything. What so ever. Twilight had asked him if he liked any of the food that she currently had, but he just shook his head. He found the notebook, quill and ink jar from last night. He filled it up with ink and wrote to Twilight that "He didn't eat or drink". She found this odd and she was worried, but she couldn't force feed him. Unless he was starving, obviously. But, he wasn't showing any signs of malnutrition. He didn't seem tired or too skinny. Him being an unknown species and all, Twilight just thought "maybe his species don't eat or drink like us ponies do..".

She had asked him if he wanted to go outside and meet the ponies. His response was a nod and so she ate quickly and got ready to go out. Eventually, when she had finished getting ready, she found the boy reading some of her books. She smiled.

"Reading books? I already knew he had some intelligence as he communicated via writing, but this is fascinating..."

"What have you got there?" She asked with her smile still on her face.

The boy showed the book to her. It was a book on urban legends.

She tapped her chin. "Any specfic legend that you're looking for or are you just browsing through?"

He got his notebook, wrote something down and showed it her. "Just browsing through."

She smiled again. "Well, urban legends are very interesting. Anyway, sorry to interrupt your reading, but do you want to go now?"

The boy nodded and put the book where he found it on the shelf. Twilight's smile widened even further.

"He even knows where to put the book. On the correct shelf. Very impressive...and odd considering he's only been here a day.."

She shrugged the last bit off as she thought that maybe he had libraries on his world? It wouldn't surprise her anymore than she already was.

And so, with the book put on the correct shelf, Twilight and the boy headed outside. At first, he seemed to cover his eyes from the sun, as if not used to it. But, after a few seconds, he uncovered his eyes and looked around.

What he saw made him put his hand on his mouth in a "GASP" gesture. Ponies were walking around everywhere, conversing and some even had little stalls where they were selling things.

He also noticed that nearly ALL of them were now staring at him with a mix of shock and fear on their face. Twilight noticed this and brought him close to her by grabbing him around the waist with her hoof. She then shouted as loud as she could.

"LISTEN UP EVERYPONY. THIS LITTLE GUY RIGHT HERE IS A MEMBER OF A NEW SPECIES THAT PRINCESS CELESTIA HERSELF HAS DISCOVERED! I WOULD LIKE YOU TO TREAT HIM WITH THE SAME RESPECT AND KINDNESS THAT YOU TREAT EACHOTHER. CELESTIA ALSO WANTS THE SAME. PLEASE, DON'T BARAGE HIM WITH QUESTIONS AS HE IS ONLY YOUNG. HE CANNOT SPEAK EITHER. HIS ONLY FORM OF COMMUNICATION IS WRITING THINGS DOWN. WITH THAT SAID, PLEASE, CARRY ON WITH THE REST OF YOUR DAY!"

Now, she wasn't a princess, but with the amount of times that she had saved this town and the whole of Equestria and the fact that she was an element bearer, everyone knew her well and usually followed what she said. She smiled when everypony actually did what she said and tried to get on with what they were doing before they saw the boy.

She continued to walk and let go of him. She smiled down at him. "Sorry about that. Just wanted to make sure that no harm comes to you. Can't have the first member of a species totally new to Equis get hurt now, can we?"

The boy shaked his head in a "no" gesture.

Twilight giggled. "That's right. We can't. Now, let me show you around ponyville and then, I can let you meet my friends, if you wish to, that is?"

The boy nodded and Twilight smiled in return.

"Great. Now, first, I'm going to show you the town hall and then, the rest of the village."

After an hour or so of showing the boy around the village, it was now time for him to meet her friends.

"I hope that you've enjoyed the tour of the town, but now, you get to meet my friends. First off, we're going to meet Applejack, alright?"

The boy nodded.

Before they could get there however, a pink blur stopped in front of them, looked at the boy, gasped loudly and sped off. The boy looked at Twilight with a confused expression.

"Oh...that's just Pinkie. Don't worry, she might seem a bit...odd...at first, but she means well."

The boy nodded and looked forward.

Twilight sighed to herself. He was now going to meet her friends. Only one thought crossed her mind.

"I really hope this goes well..."
