As ages pass by and history slips into myths, the stories of those who lived in times long gone are often recast as lessons and parables to teach the virtues they have come to represent. Such is the way we hold onto that gone, so that the lives of ponies long ago can still hold meaning today.
Yet, the ponies of history are not simply lessons to be learned and parables to be considered. They and lives of their own, hopes and dreams, plans laid and changed by the courses of fate.
From the ancient homeland of the ponies to the soaring vistas of Canterlot, this is the story of those whose struggles during the most trying of times in history shaped the world as we know it today. Stories told not as lessons to be learned or tales to frighten foals around a campfire but stories told as they really happened, as the lives of ponies trying to eke out their lives as the world began to change around them as it never has before and never has since.
