Rainbow Dash's Secret

Rainbow has kept a secret from her friends. Ever since she hit puberty she's had big boobs! And now that her secret is out, she has bigger things to worry about than what her friends think about her new assets!

Rainbow Dash has always been known for her flat chest. But when that doesn't turn out to be true, the girls help her cope with the new attention she's getting. Even if she doesn't want it!

Double Rainbow

Rainbow Dash felt something nudge the side of her face as she laid asleep in her bed. She tried to swipe it away sleepily, then rolling over. It stopped, and she grinned in her sleep before sighing in content. She frowned as the nudging began again and groaned. “Tank, stop. What the heck do you want anyway?” She asked, her eyes still closed and her voice groggy.

The tortoise nipped her nose. The athlete shot up. “WHAT?!” She shouted as she held her nose. She glared at him. He sent her an apologetic look but nudged her towards the Wonderbolt clock on her dresser. She looked at it and groaned. “Crap! Twilight and the girls will be here in twenty minutes!” She jumped up, tripping over her sheets and landing on her stomach. Mumbling, Dash got up and grabbed her towel before getting into the shower.

As she washed herself she thought about what she was going to do today. The girls wanted her to come with them to the pool. She was happy to oblige, but there was one problem. Two, actually. And those problems were literally staring her right in the face. Rainbow Dash never complained about anything. Well, except for losing and having to do boring work. But if she was going to complain about something, it would be her boobs.

Rainbow, for an athlete, was exceptionally gifted in the bust area. Very, very, gifted. Double D gifted. And while it honestly wasn't a problem in itself, it was causing her problems with her friends. She didn’t want them to know, because she felt it didn’t fit her persona. Athletic girls weren't very busty right? They were usually flat chested.

She rolled her eyes, putting shampoo in her rainbow hair. That’s, at least, what she thought. Until she was in school with Fluttershy one day and she blew up. She was about thirteen when it happened. Such an early age to be even thinking about such a thing, but it happened then. She had been out of school for a week, making Fluttershy worried sick about her.

Her mother told her she was going through puberty. Something she was just learning about and utterly confused with. She had always been a tomboy, a rough and tough girl who never minded any dirt. She liked to hang around the boys in her class a lot because she felt she could identify with them more than the girls; with the exception of Fluttershy, of course. They had short hair like she did and liked to play sports like she did. So for her to suddenly grow breast and hips...it was...unsettling.

Her mother thought nothing of it but to her it was everything. To keep her tough girl image she started binding her breasts and wearing baggy clothes. It furthered everyone’s expectations of who she was and kept her reputation intact.

Now, at the age of nineteen, she was getting wary of it. It used to be just her and Fluttershy, and she was easy to keep anything from. But now she had the others. And as much as she appreciated them, they were making it harder for her to carry her secret around.

Sighing, Dash got out the shower and dried herself, before throwing on her cropped blue sweatpants then grabbing the medical bandage tape off her dresser. She wrapped it around her breasts until she was satisfied with how they looked. She threw her swim shorts and her surf shirt in her bag before going back to put her shirt on. As she got the fabric over her head she failed to hear the door to her room open.

“Hey, Rainbow- Whoa Daddy!” Pinkie said, standing in the doorway with the others behind her with curious looks on their faces.

Rainbow froze. Why didn’t she think that they were going to come up and not wait for her downstairs? “What the- Can’t you guys knock?!” The latina demanded blushing as she hastily pulled her shirt down.

“Sorry.” Twilight apologized. “Pinkie needed to borrow some sunscreen from you. Was that...medical tape around your chest?” she asked.

“N-No! No it isn’t!” Rainbow insisted.

“Only girls who want to hide their breasts from others bind their chests. Do you...you know.. have a big chest?” Twilight persists.

Rainbow gulped. She had two choices. She could either tell the truth, or she could lie. And She wasn’t exactly in a position to do the latter. She sighed. “Yeah. I do. I’m not flat chested at all.”

“What?!” Applejack barked.

“Oh my..” Fluttershy mumbles.

“Interesting..” Twilight says.

“D-Cup Dashie! D-Dash!” Pinkie giggled uncontrollably. “Sonic Rainboobs! Roy G. Big!” She adds falling onto the floor.

“This is unacceptable!” Rarity huffs. “I thought I was the only voluptuous one!”

Rainbow raises a brow. This was their reactions? She’s been deceiving them this whole time and this is how they react?

The girls just stared her. Rarity stomped her foot. “Stop staring at her! She’s not supposed to be the physically gorgeous one! I am! I will not have a competitor! Rainbow Dash, you keep those things hidden! I order you!”

Rainbow Dash gave her a look. Was she serious?

“Rainbow..why didn’t you tell us?” Twilight asks, putting a hand on the girl’s shoulder.

“Because having a big chest and being an athlete don’t mix. I can’t run with these things anyway.” Dash responded.

“Excuse me? Ah’ve been working ‘round the farm with mine since Ah was fourteen. You’ve got no excuse, RD.” Applejack scolds.

Rainbow Dash knew Applejack was right. Applejack was one of the bustiest girls of the group. Behind Rarity, of course. And she didn’t let that stop her from getting her chores on the farm done. It also didn’t stop the guys in town from looking at her as she passed.

“Yeah, you’re right.” She sighed. “But we’re going to the pool. I don’t want everyone to see me like this. It’ll make them think I got implants or something.”

“Just tell the truth!” Pinkie pipes.

“It’s not that easy, Pinkie.” Fluttershy says. “She’s been telling people she’s been flat chested her whole life. And for her to suddenly not be...it looks very suspicious.”

“So stun them! Make them so shocked that they’ll forget that you didn’t even tell them!” The pink haired party planner shouts, making wild hand gestures.

“With what?! I don’t own a bikini!”

Twilight taps Rarity. The fashionista doesn’t respond. Twilight slaps her arm, glaring at her.

“Alright, alright! I’ll, I’ll see what I can do!” She yells.

The group heads over to Carousel Boutique, Rainbow reluctantly letting Rarity take measurements of her.

“Give me a second darling, and I’ll have something right out for you.” The seamstress says before commanding her to sit in the waiting room with the others. She sat there for about twenty minutes before Rarity had called her back in.

Applejack sighed. “Ah don’t know why, but Ah have a bad feeling about this.” She waited until Dash had left to say anything.

Twilight gave her a confused look. “Why?”

“Well, Rainbow isn’t very....girly.” Applejack finished. She was trying to search for the right word but there really wasn’t any other way to say it.

“Well we know that, silly!” Pinkie bubbled, kicking her feet like a small child.

“N-No, that’s not what Ah meant. Ah mean she might not understand-”

“She is finished!” Rarity announced. Her red work glasses were atop her head and the measuring tape she had been using was laced around her neck. She made a grand gesture with her arms as Rainbow Dash inched out sheepishly in a very revealing bikini.

It was a charming two piece, with rainbow stripes on both the bottoms and the top. Her initials were sewed on the top, but definitely not taking away from her now completely visible cleavage.

“Whoa nelly.” Applejack said, whistling.

“Jesus, Dashie! You’re giving me a heart attack!” Pinkie joked.

Fluttershy squeaked.

Twilight gasped. “Oh, Rainbow Dash! The boys will be all over you!”

That was exactly what she didn’t want. She didn’t want the boys all over her. She wanted them to see her as their equal, a formidable opponent, not something that they could gawk at. That was part of the reason why she didn’t want to embrace the fact that she went through puberty. It would just change her relationship with her guy friends and make things incredibly awkward.

“Let’s get going girls!” Rarity said, clapping her hands. “I want to get a good tanning spot!”

“You? Tannin’? That’s funny because every time we come back you look redder than a ripe farm tomato.” Applejack smirked.

“A girl can dream, can’t she? Not everyone can have a natural tan like you, Applejack.” Rarity quipped sticking her nose up in the air.

“I’m glad you’ve noticed.” Applejack said with a wink as she walked out the door.

Rarity blushed before mumbling something under her breath as she gathered her things.

Pinkie, Twilight and Fluttershy were already outside as Rarity and Applejack stepped out. They were waiting on Rainbow Dash, who was beginning to have second thoughts.

“I can’t go to the pool like this.” She mumbled. “They’ll laugh. I just know it.” She was pacing back and forth. her ponytail bobbing as she walked.

Rarity honked her horn. That meant the rest of the girls were in the car. Rainbow Dash sighed before getting her backpack off the floor and walking out the door. Whatever shred of dignity she had left, was left behind at the boutique.

When they finally made it to Ponyville Rec, the girls peeled off their towels and laid them out before diving into the pool. Rarity walked right past Pinkie, Twilight, and Applejack, joining Fluttershy who was sitting on a lounge chair.

Rarity laid out as she put on her sun hat and her sunglasses before turning to the shy girl. “Fluttershy, dear, why don’t you join them?” She asked nodding to the three in the water as Twilight dunked Pinkie under before being picked up by Applejack who dropped her on her back with a splash.

“O-Oh, that’s okay. I’m not really much of a swimmer.” She responded, drawing her knees in up to her chin. She didn’t like interacting with other people outside her group of friends. Getting in the pool would mean people she didn’t know talking to her and it would take a severe toll on her social anxiety. Though, what they were doing did look like fun.

Rainbow Dash stood timidly at the edge, her towel wrapped around herself protectively. "I-I don't know about this, guys." She whispered.

"Its a hundred degrees, Rainbow Dash. If you don't get in here you'll pass out." Twilight told her matter of factually.

"Yeah! C'mon Dashie! The water's great!" Pinkie giggled, splashing.

Rainbow Dash shook her head. "No!" She whispered, glancing over to where some of her guy friends were hanging out. "They'll see me!"

"Girl, if they're yer real friends, they'll like ya no matter what. And that's the honest truth." Applejack replied. "Now get in or Ah'll make ya!"

Applejack got a hold on Dash's leg, pulling her in. "No!" She screamed before splashing in, her towel long forgotten.

"Applejack!" She shouted, blushing. Angrily, Dash got back out the pool only to bump into her friend Puck Shot. "Gah!"

He looked up at her. "Uh, sorry- Dash?" He asked, looking her up and down.

This is exactly why she didn't want to do this. Because this was going to be the reaction she was going to get. "Yeah, its me." She sighs on defeat.

"Wow, you look," he paused, "Great."

She blushed a little. "Yeah, I guess."

"Where'd you get the boobs though?" Another friend of hers who overheard, Snowflake, asked, smirking.

She grimaced. Of course they wouldn't think they were real.

"My body. Because they're mine." She huffed, crossing her arms.

She swore she could have seen their jaws drop.

"You sure you didn't have Twilight do some sexy spell on you?" Puck asked.

Dash stomped her foot. "So, what? I can't be sexy all on my own?"

"Well, no. You're Rainbow Dash. The like, least sexiest girl we know." Snowflake told her.

Ouch. That hurt. Dash threw her hands up in frustration before walking away. She sat down next to Rarity in a lounge chair, her arms folded.

Rarity put down her romance novel to look at her. "Rainbow, darling, what seems to be the matter?"

"I'm sexy right?" the latina asks swiveling around.

"Gah, um, may I ask where this is coming from?" Rarity's eyebrows furrow.

"They said I was the least sexiest girl they know!" Dash blurts, groaning in frustration.

"Oh my. That's terrible. Well if it makes you feel better, I think you're pretty cute." Fluttershy offered.

"That doesn't help at all!" She wails.

"Wait, do you even like, like, one of these boys?" Rarity asks.

"No. But I thought they would at least think I was hot or something! I mean what self respecting guy hangs out with a girl and not think she's hot from time to time?!" Dash complained. "They basically called me ugly!"

"Now that's just stinkin' thinkin'." Applejack said, as she walked up to them. "Ah hang out with Mac and his boys all the time. They all think Ah'm a pretty good catch."

"That's because you're hot! You've got a nice tan toned body! And blonde hair! And an accent! Guys like accents!" the athlete says pointing to her.

"Well you've got about half of those things! You just gotta use it to your advantage!" Applejack says scowling.

"As much as I'd hate to admit it, Applejack is right. Even though I think having an accent really doesn't change anything." Rarity says shifting her glasses to the top of her head. "Sexy doesn't have one definition, Rainbow Dash. Every man finds something different sexy."

"I don't get it." She states.

"For example, some boys love a southern girl like Applejack. Or a cute introverted bookworm like Twilight. A lot go for the cute shy girl like Fluttershy." Rarity explains.

"What about you?" Dash asked, looking at her.

"I? I date men, not boys." The seamstress answers haughtily. "There is no other type of me. That's why I am a rarity." She chuckled at her own joke.

AJ and Dash both "Blech."

"Darling if you want to grab a man's attention you have to be assertive. Make him want to want you." Rarity advises.

Rainbow Dash thinks for a moment, before she's interrupted by Twilight screaming with laughter, "Pinkie! Stop!"

The four turn to see the two girls still in the water, Pinkie having a good time with the librarian. She was tickling her, squeezing her boobs and nipping at her ear.

Dash looked confused. "Aren't they both-"

"Yes, but look at your friends. They're eating it right up." Rarity points.

Dash looked over to where Snowflake and Puck Shot were standing. They were practically drooling.

"But I don’t-"

"I know you don’t. Which is why I don't understand why this is even bothering you." Rarity cuts her off again.

Which she knew was true. Why did she care so much all of a sudden even though she didn't even like these guys? Then, she realized.

She was jealous of the attention Applejack would get for wearing her short shorts. She was jealous of how boys would tell Twilight she was cute. She was jealous of the attention Pinkie got for her bouncing boobs. She was jealous of Rarity, for the way she made it look so easy to be so sensual. She was jealous of Fluttershy, jealous of the fact that guys would come up to and tell her how she was so adorable even though it scared the shit out of her when they did that.

She. Was. Jealous.

She had always been the sporty spunky tomboy and she was beginning to realize that binding her boobs wasn't helping her, but hurting her. She was so obsessed with following the stigma she had set for herself, that others had set for her that she forgot that maybe, just maybe there was a side to her that wanted to be girly for once.

And it scared her. Because it went against everything she had ever built herself up to be. And that was truly scary.

“I-I want to be flirty for once.” She mumbled.

“What was that?” Twilight asked coming over to dry herself off.

“I want guys to be all over me the way they’re all over you guys.” Dash says looking at the ground.

“You didn’t have to say it, Dashie! We could see it on your face!” Pinkie giggled.

“You what?!” She demands.

Applejack laughs. “Yer about as good at hidin’ your emotions as Twilight is.”

“Hey!” The librarian shouts.

“You should have simply asked for our help, darling. We all know how much it bugs you.” Rarity tells her.

“So what do I do?” The athlete asks, defeated.

“You give ‘em a show!” Applejack tells her.

“I don’t think this is a good idea.” Fluttershy whispers.

“What’s the worst that could happen?” Pinkie asks.

“That’s usually what people say before something bad does happen.” Twilight says, rolling her eyes.

“I have an idea!” Pinkie shouts before pushing Dash into the pool for a second time.

“Pinkie what-” Before she could finish the sentence she was in the pool once again. She surfaced after a minute, coughing and hacking. “What the hell, Pinkie Pie?!” She groaned as she pulled herself out.

She hardly noticed that her two friends had watched the whole thing and had seen her get out. They couldn’t help but notice that the water made her tan latin skin shine sexily and her hair stick to her newly freed chest, drawing attention to them.

“No need to thank me!” Pinkie said smirking.

Dash glared at her. “For wha-”

“Hey, Dash?”

Dash turned around to see her two best guy friends. “Yeah? What do you want?”

Puck and Snowflake shared a look.

“W-We just wanted to tell you that you’re like, hot.” Puck said.

“Like, really hot.” Snowflake agreed.

Dash’s mouth dropped and she twisted to see the rest of the girls reactions. They were grinning, and made hand movements gesturing her to say something. She faces them and smirks.

“Oh yeah? Why the sudden change of heart?” She asks smugly.

The boys in front of her fumbled for the words, but winded up being stuttering messes as she ran her fingers seductively over her wet skin.

“We want you to hang out with us!” Puck finally got out as Snowflake nodded eagerly.

Dash was beginning to enjoy this new super power she had. “Sorry guys, but I’m hanging with my girls today.” She flashed them her winning smile before rejoining the group.

“Way to go Dash!” Pinkie and Twilight cheered.

“Now that’s my girl!” Applejack said fist bumping her.

“Good show, darling!” Rarity smirked.

“Whoo hoo!” Fluttershy whispered.

“I really didn’t think it would work but Pinkie you’re a genius!” Rainbow told her.

Pinkie fluffed her hair. “Hehe! Yeah I know!”

Everyone laughed as they all came together for a group hug.

“So! How shall we celebrate this momentous occasion?” Rarity asked as they pulled apart.

The girls began to think before a familiar tune filled their ears.

“Ice cream!” Pinkie shouted as she made a beeline for the truck.

Rainbow raced after her. “I’ll get there before you!”

Pinkie laughed. “Not if I get there first!”

Twilight bounded after her shouting, “Wait, wait, for me!”

Fluttershy followed after, whispering “Oh my, Oh my, Oh my!”

Applejack and Rarity stayed behind, laughing.

“After all that she's still up for being the rough and tough girl she is. That’s your friend, Applejack.” Rarity teased.

“She’s your friend too.” she responded and then started laughing.

Rarity gave her a confused look. “What? What’s so funny?”

“Honey, these boobs arent as streamline as you think.” Applejack chuckled.

“What do you mean?” Rarity asked.

“These boobs ain’t made for runnin’. Especially without a bra on. Ah give ‘er about a minute before she starts screaming.” Applejack explains, her face cracking into a smile.

Rarity opened her mouth to say something but was cut off by a certain raspy voice in the distance.

“AH! My chest is on fire!”

Author's Notes:

For everyone who doesn't get the joke in the end when girls with larger breasts, (like me) run without a bra on, their boobs like go up and down. And if you like run really really fast it goes even faster and then it feels like they're getting ripped off your body. hence the "my chest is on fire".

well I had wrote this back in july, and wanted to finish it. hope you guys liked it! don't forget to comment and tell me what you think! Teacher's Pet will be updated Sunday! :D

Come At Me Bra!

Before I get this chapter started I’d like to say a few things. First, thanks for making this story really popular for no reason and landing it a feature. I appreciate it. Next, this is how I write. I am not going to change it just because you do not like it. Anyway welcome to the second chapter. Enjoy.

Rainbow Dash sighed as she made her way to the library. The girls had told her something about a surprise. She was skeptical, seeing how they knew she hated surprises. Yawning, she rapped on the door. It opened, revealing the librarian.

“Oh good, you're here!” Twilight chirped.

“Yeah, for what?” Dash asked.

“We’re going shopping!” Rarity squealed as she walked in.

Rainbow didn’t seem to quite get it. “For what?”

“For your new bras, silly!” Pinkie bubbled jumping on her.

“Oh no, no, I’m not- I can’t!” Dash protested.

“Well why not, darling? You seemed to be having a grand time letting your friends see the new you.” Rarity responded.

“Yeah, but that was yesterday and this is today! Plus, that was like, one time! Wearing a bra would totally throw my running times off!” Rainbow shouted, stomping her foot.

Applejack shakes her head. “Remember the Runnin’ Of The Leaves?” she asked.

“Yeah?”

“Guess what Ah was wearin’?”

“A bra?”

“Exactly. You ain’t got-”

“No excuse, RD. Yeah, yeah I get it. Just...nothing too frilly alright? I do have an image to uphold.” Dash said, walking out the door.

“Would it kill her to act like a lady for once?” Rarity asked.

“I think it actually might.” Twilight mumbled as they all walked out after her.

The ride to the mall was short, thanks to Pinkie’s crazed driving. Almost everyone except her was sick to their stomach when they got out.

“That is the last time we let her drive.” Applejack said, her face a light shade of green.

“Agreed.” The others said, holding their stomachs.

Dash follows everyone in, watching warily for her friends.

“They ain’t gonna be in the bra store, you know.” Applejack told her, pushing her forward.

“I know, but, I can’t, this is too girly!” Dash sputtered, digging the heels of her red high top sneakers into the ground to no avail, only succeeding in leaving a trail of black scuff marks.

“Last time we checked, you were a girl.” Rarity piped, turning around to look at her. “Or are we mistaken?” she teased.

“That’s not even funny!” Dash protested as everyone laughed.

The store they were seeking came into view and Dash almost made a run for it. She was about to, but then remembered she didn’t have a bra on and running at the speeds that she could run without a bra on would tear her chest in half. A bit of an exaggeration, but it was what it felt like yesterday.

She sighed in defeat as her five friends pulled her into the store. Looking around, she was horrified at what she was seeing. Pink, frilly, and brightly colored bras everywhere. It was like Pinkie’s room had threw up.

“Go ahead and pick out any two you want. It’s on me.” Rarity sing-songed, pulling out her purple credit card.

Rainbow just stood there, scared.

“Do you think we should help her?” Fluttershy whispered.

Pinkie laughed. “Maybe she doesn’t know where to start!”

“Yeah, that’s it.” Twilight responded, rolling her eyes.

Applejack cracked her knuckles. “Don’t worry ya’ll, Ah got this.” She walked up to Rainbow Dash and plucked her in the forehead.

“OW! What the hell was that for, Jack?!”

Applejack said nothing, just dragged her over to where the right size for her would be. “What bra size are you?” she asked.

“I don’t know! I haven’t worn a bra! Like, ever!” Dash shot back.

“She’s a 42DD, darling!” Rarity called out from somewhere in the lingerie section. “I measured her yesterday!”

Dash’s eyes bulged in horror. “I-I’m that big?!” she whispered.

“Eeyup.” Applejack said, taking a page from her brother’s book as she shuffled through the racks for the size Rarity had given her. “About three sizes smaller than Rares, and a size bigger than me.”

Rainbow could see stars.

“Now don’t you go an’ pass out now. We gotta see if some of this stuff fits.” Applejack commanded, throwing her into a changing room after stuffing four bras in her hand.

Rainbow stood in the small cubicle stunned, before sighing in defeat once again. Man, she really hated losing. She took off her tank top before staring at the medical tape on her chest. Wincing, she undid the binding and breathed a sigh of relief as she felt more air enter her lungs.

After that, she stared down at the four bras in her hand. One was just a simple black one without any decorations. Okay, she could deal with that. The next one was a pink and black striped one with black lace. That one was definitely not her style. Then the one after that one was white with black lace. She really was not digging all this lace. The last one was blue, with green lace. It still had lace but it looked better than the other one’s did.

She tried that one on first, struggling with the strap and trying to get it on right. When she finally accomplished that, she took a step back and looked at herself in the mirror.

The bra fit her perfectly, hugging her curves and making her look extremely feminine. She didn’t like it, but she didn’t exactly hate it either.

There was a knock at the door.

“Are you alright in there, darling? We’d like to see what they look like on you.” Rarity called from the other side.

Rainbow panicked. “Uh, yeah! Everything’s fine, I’m coming out now!” She hastily adjusted the garment before opening the door and stepping out.

“It looks great on you!” Twilight complimented.

Pinkie nodded in agreement. “Yeah, Dashie! You look hot!”

Rainbow blushed. “That’s it, I’m taking this off!” she said, embarrassed.

“Sugarcube, you ain’t got nothing to be embarrassed about. We all wear bras. It’s a normal thing for girls ta do.” Applejack comforted.

“Yeah but you guys have done it your whole lives! I’m just starting! I didn’t even know how to put the freaking thing on!” She looked like she was about to cry. And Rainbow never cries.

The girls share a look.

“Oh, Rainbow Dash, please don’t cry. You’ve got nothing to cry about.” Fluttershy said, running up to her and hug her. The others followed and they formed a group hug for the second time that week.

When they pulled apart Rainbow frowned. “I feel like such a loser.”

“Why’s that?” Twilight asked.

“I don’t know anything about being a girl.” Dash mumbled.

Silence fills the room.

Rarity smirked. “I’m sorry darling, what was that?”

Rainbow blushed. “I said, I don’t know anything about being a girl.”

“Holy crap, she finally admits it!” Twilight gasped.

“You owe me five bucks, Pinkie!” Applejack laughed.

“Aww!” Pinkie said, crossing her arms.

Rainbow didn’t understand. “Huh?”

“We know you don’t know anything about being a girl, darling.” Rarity explained.

“That’s why we want to help you.” Fluttershy chimed in.

Rainbow smirked. Of course they did. That’s why they brought her here in the first place. “Thanks you guys.”

“What are friends for?” Applejack asked.

Eventually after some much needed coaxing, Rainbow Dash got two bras. The blue and green laced one, and the black one.

As the girls walked through the mall, they were deciding on what to eat. “I want pizza!” Pinkie shouted, completely ignoring how loud she was being in a public place.

“Thank you, Pinkie, for bursting my eardrum.” Twilight tells her sarcastically as she wiggled a finger in her right ear.

“You’re welcome!” Pinkie chirped, skipping along.

“Something is seriously wrong with you.” Dash directed towards her.

She almost didn’t pay attention to where she was going. She bumped into someone but didn’t know who it was until she looked up.

“S-Soarin?” She stuttered.

“Hey, Rainbow! Long time no see!” The Wonderbolt greeted with a friendly smile.

She froze. She could hear the girls snickering behind her and gulped. “H-Hey, h-how’s it going?” she stuttered, a blush making it’s way to her tan face. She could feel her body heat rising too.

“Fine, I guess. Spitfire wanted to stop by to get something to eat. Hey, do you know if they sell apple pies here?” He added afterwards.

Dash shook her head. “No, not really.” She muttered, trying to hide the bag in her hand.

“Oh well, it was nice seeing you. You should stop by the training camp sometime. We could use someone like you again.” He said, winking, before walking away.

“He winked at you!” Rarity gasped.

“So he did.” Dash said in awe.

“Look at that, ya got boys flirtin’ with ya already!” Applejack said, giving her a smack on the back.

Dash coughed. “Yeah...” she trailed.

“Rainbow, do you have a crush on Soarin?” Twilight asked.

“What?! No! What makes you think that?!” She barked.

“Well it’s just that when you were talking to him you were acting all girly and shy.” Twilight told her.

“Shyer than me.” Fluttershy agreed.

“Okay, maybe I do like him. A little bit! But you guys cant tell anyone!” the athlete threatened.

“Aw, look at Dash, having her first crush!” Applejack teased.

“I’m walking away now.” Rainbow deadpanned, turning on her heel and heading in the opposite direction.

“Dontcha wanna walk the other way? Ya know, ta make sure ya don’t run in ta him again?” Applejack hollered.

The last thing the girls saw before Dash rounded a corner was her middle finger in the air.

“You know how sensitive she is.” Rarity scolded.

“Yeah but Ah couldn’t help it. She’s too easy.” Applejack responded with a smirk.

“That’s what my last boyfriend said about me!” Pinkie bubbled.

The rest of the group turned to look at her incredulously. She smiled before seeing the confused looks on their faces.

“What?”

Like Mother, Like Daughter Part 1

Rainbow Dash paid for a soda she had gotten from a pizza place and walked over to where the tables were, looking for a seat. While searching, she felt her cellphone buzz. She angrily fished it out her pocket and answered it. "What?!"

"Now is that any way to greet your mother?" A voice on the other line answered.

"Mom?!" Rainbow asked incredulously. She hadn't heard from her in months. She wondered what prompted a call like this. Her mother never usually called unless she wanted something. Which was always.

"That’s ex-Wonderbolt Firefly to you." Her mother responded.

"Mom I'm not calling you by your name." Dash deadpanned.

"Good. Then I won't call you that atrocious name you came up with, Jennifer." Her mother retorted.

"Do all our conversations have to start like this?" Dash groaned as she sat down at a empty table in the food court.

"You're the one who starts it."

"Who's the parent here?" Dash asked.

“Touche. Listen, I’m in town and I was wondering if I could stop by to see you. It’s been so long since I’ve seen you.” Her mother explained, sighing a bit.

“What?! Today?!” Dash barked, coughing on her soda.

“Yes, did I not make myself clear?” Her mother asked.

“N-No, you did, it’s just....” She had to lie. She just had to. She was going through some things she really didn’t need her pushy mother poking her nose into everything. “I’m busy.” She finished.

“Busy? With what? You dropped out of college. Don’t think I didn’t hear about that.” Her mother scoffed. Dash could almost see her mother rolling her eyes on the other side of the line.

“How did you-”

“I have my resources.” Her mother replied, cutting her off. “Besides, this will be a nice opportunity to meet your friends.”

“Oh joy.” She grumbled, rolling her eyes. The last thing she needed right now was her mother meeting everyone. Not that she didn’t want her to, but with the way things were going now...it was bad timing, and she didn’t want her mother to make things worse.

“Fix that tone, missy. I can still ground you.”

“I’m nineteen, Mom.”

“I don’t care.”

Dash sighed. This clearly wasn’t going anywhere and she didn’t want to stay on the phone with her any longer. “Fine, you can stop by and meet my friends. We’re all gonna be at the Oak Tree Library at three.” She wasn’t usually one to cave when it came to her mother, but her patience was running thin.

“Alright. I’ll see you then. And make sure you look presentable, young lady.” And with that, the line went dead. Rainbow hung up herself, then got up, bringing her soda with her. She might as well find everyone now and warn them of what was to come.

"How did we get on the topic of this?" Dash groaned with two fingers pressed against her temple. After the pleasant talk on the phone she had with her mother, she was able to locate her friends at the burger joint- right in the middle of a conversation about sex.

"I'm just saying. I'm into some freaky shit." Pinkie admitted, shrugging. "A party girl like me has to be." She swung her arms absentmindedly behind her on the back of the chair, while tipping it up as she drank her milkshake from a crazy straw.

Twilight rolled her eyes. "You're pansexual. You being a party girl has nothing to do with it." She corrected her, sipping on her soda and putting the book she was reading down temporarily on the table. "Besides, how freaky can one girl get?"

"Stay at my place for a night and you'll find out." Pinkie said flirtatiously, winking at her.

Twilight blushed. "Curse my stupid bisexuality." She grumbled, turning away from her and picking up her book again.

"But what about Dashie?!" Pinkie asked, fully aware that the girl in question was right in front of her. "We don't know anything about her sexuality! She was hiding those huge knockers! She could be hiding that too!"

Applejack laughed, taking a bite out of her burger. "Trust me sug, Dash's preference ain't such a mystery." She glanced at the girl, smirking.

"Are you insinuating that I'm not straight, you redneck hick?" Dash challenged, glaring at her from across the table.

"Ah don't know, Speedy, you tell me." The farm girl responded, smirking even more, now knowing that she had pressed the right button. She returned the stare confidently, folding her arms over the back of the chair since she had flipped it around.

“There’s nothing more rude than speculating someone else’s sexuaility, Applejack.” Rarity scolded, daintily wiping her mouth. She turned to the farm girl and added, “You have no room to talk. Especially when you’re the one always coming to me for advice.”

“Advice on what?!” Pinkie shouted excitedly, slamming her chair back down on the ground. The sudden movement made the other girls and many other by standards to jump. She never was one to be considerate of others when it came to her antics.

“Nothin’.” Applejack grumbled in response, her leverage over Rainbow Dash clearly lost. “Nothin’ at all.” She added, frowning and turning away from the seamstress.

Satisfied with her retort, Rarity went back to her salad. Dash grinned at Applejack, who sent a happily conceived double middle finger. Dash shrugged. She shouldn’t have started something that she couldn’t finish. Especially when the other girls in the group had something on her.

Fluttershy pushed a strand of hair behind her ear. She was flustered, talking about these kinds of subjects always made her a little wary. Not that she didn’t know anything on the subject, but if her friends found out about the things she’s done and imagined...she didn’t think that they’d be friends with her much longer.

“What about you, Fluttershy? What’s your sexuality?” Twilight asked, turning to her.

“Eep!” Fluttershy jumped from having all the attention shifted onto her. “Um, I’m sorry, what was the question again?” she whispered nervously, hiding behind her hair.

“What’s your sexuality? Are you into girls or guys, or both? Or do you have a weird turn on?” Twilight repeated, making it simpler for her to answer.

“Uh, I uh,” She struggled, looking at Dash for help.

Dash knew what Fluttershy was into unfortunately, and judging by the scared look on her face, she knew she had only about five seconds to save her before she ran out the door crying. “She’d rather not say.” She said for her.

Fluttershy nodded wildly.

Twilight looked a little confused. “Uh, okay.”

Dash looked at her watch to see it was two thirty. She cursed under her breath. She had spent all that time listening to them that she almost forgot the reason why she had went out of her way to find them. “Uh, you guys?” She said, grabbing all of their attentions. She tried not to look worried, but apparently she was terribly bad at it.

“What’s wrong, darling?” Rarity asked concerned, putting a hand on her wrist.

“Well, ah, you see...my mom wants to meet you all.” She confessed, chuckling anxiously. “Like today. At three.”

Silence fell upon them, until Pinkie broke it with the outburst of, “She has parents?!”

“No Pinkie, she was born out of magic.” Twilight snipped sarcastically. Sometimes she really wondered if Pinkie had something seriously wrong with her.

“Why is her comin’ such a bother for ya?” Applejack asked.

“Cause she’s kind of...well....I can’t explain it. You guys just have to see for yourselves.” Dash said, getting up. “C’mon. We gotta leave now if we’re gonna meet her on time.” she sighed unhappily.

The other girls shared a look of disbelief before getting up themselves. Dash’s emotions confused them. Wasn’t someone supposed to be happy to see their mother? Most importantly when it seemed like they haven’t seen them in a while? But then they remembered, unfortunately, like Pinkie, some parents were abusive and not the best parents.

“Is your dad comin’ with ‘er?” Applejack asked, watching the rainbow haired girl walk out first, then held the door as everyone followed before walking out herself.

Dash snorted. “Don’t even get me started on that asshole.” She grunted, slamming her passenger side door. The others took that as a sign to not ask anymore questions. Everyone else got in, trying not to give their friend pitiful looks.

The ride back to the library was quiet and albeit a bit awkward. What had been a fun afternoon at the mall, had turned into a look into Dash’s past. No one in the group except for Fluttershy knew the more personal aspects of her life, and it didn’t seem like she wanted to share any of it either. Not that she could anyway. It was Rainbow Dash’s personal life, not her’s.

Once they got there, they saw a black mustang parked in front. Applejack turned the car off. Everyone looked back at Dash, who was staring distractedly out the window, barely noticing that they had stopped.

“Uh, Da-”

“Let’s just get this over with.” Dash grumbled, cutting Applejack off. She got out the car, the others soon following. When they got out, a woman got out of the mustang. She was a tall, curvaceous woman, with a chest that could rival Celestia’s, and tan skin that matched her daughter’s. She had long scruffy blue hair that was tied back into a ponytail. The crisp and clean business suit she wore contradicted her wild colored hair, and the smirk on her face confirmed that she was indeed Rainbow’s mother.

“What’s the matter, squirt? Arent ya gonna introduce me to your friends?” She asked. Her voice was just as raspy and brazen as her daughter’s, making the other girls believe that they were one in the same.

Dash winced at the nickname. “Sure.” She choked out, begrudgingly.

“Wowie zow wow! No wonder Dashie has the banging bod she has! Her mommy’s a total hottie! Ow!” Pinkie blurted, whistling, then cringed when all four girls behind her slapped her right arm.

“Mom, this is Pinkie, Rarity, Twilight, Applejack, and you already know Flutters.” Dash introduced dully pointing to each girl with a limp finger.

Dash’s mother took off her Ray-Bans and gave the group a welcoming smile. “Hey. I’m Firefly.”

Pinkie gasped. “Firefly?! As in the Firefly?! One of the best Wonderbolts to ever grace the team before Spitfire?!” She bubbled, waving her arms. The other girls rolled their eyes. Of course, she would know that.

Firefly nodded. “Yep. The one and only. Betcha Dashie never told you she came from money.” She gave a sidelong glance at her daughter, who was contemplating whether she should kill her or herself.

“No, she did not. And from such a famous mother too.” Rarity commented, envious. Rainbow was sitting on money while she had to work for her dream of becoming a famous fashion designer. It simply wasn’t fair! She wondered if she had any brothers...

“Did anyone ever tell you that you’re like, really hot?!” Pinkie asked, somehow moving from the side of the car to in front of Firefly in a matter of second.

Firefly laughed. “Plenty of times.”

“Down, girl.” Twilight said, pushing Pinkie to sit on the asphalt beneath them. “Hi, Ms. Firefly. My name is Twilight Sparkle. And this horny little twit is Pinkie Pie. Though I wouldn’t have worded it in such a lewd way, I must say you are...um, very attractive.”

“Be careful Twilight, your gay is showing.” Pinkie giggled looking up at her.

Twilight clamped a hand over the baker’s mouth. “I’m sorry for, uh, her.” She apologized.

Firefly chuckled. “It’s cool. It’s not like I haven’t been told that before. Besides, you girls aren't too bad yourselves.” She winked at them, Twilight letting out a little squeal. “Ya hear that, Dashie? Your friends seem to think I’m hot.”

“Mom, stop hitting on my friends.” Rainbow deadpanned.

“Oh come now, where’s the fun in that?” Firefly asked, giving Twilight a flirtatious look. Twilight unconsciously bit her lip. “I think they're pretty cute.”

“Mom, seriously. It’s weirding me out.” Dash’s protests fell on deaf ears. Like they always did.

Fluttershy waved to the older woman. “H-Hi. Ms. Firefly.” she greeted quietly.

“Fluttershy. Hey. It’s nice to see you again. I see you’ve grown up quite a bit since I last saw you. You’re legal, right?”

“Mom!”

“I’m kidding, I’m kidding.” Firefly said, waving her embarrassment off. “Jeez, don’t be a hardass.”

“You-”

“I must say,” Rarity purposely cut Rainbow Dash off., who sent her a glare and folded her arms defiantly, “It’s a rare occasion to met a celebrity like you, Ms. Firefly. What were you doing that caused you to visit our small town?” If she could get some information out of her, she could get on her good side, and what came with that were connections, endorsements, possible A-list clients, and a chance for one of her dresses to be worn to a red carpet event. She simply could not pass this up!

“I was out here on a business trip. I was actually on my way to Manehattan for a conference. I just thought I’d stop by to say hi to my baby girl.” The older woman responded.

“Ya hear that, Dash? She really seems ta care about ya.” Applejack shouted in her direction.

“Yeah, I think I’m gonna go inside.” Dash deadpanned. She walked past everyone and into the library, slamming the door behind her.

“Well.” Firefly said, smoothing out her suit jacket. “Things are off to a great start.”

Author's Notes:

Mwhaha! Hiatus be damned! I got this idea last night and I had to start it! I obviously couldn't finish it with my family buzzing around me, but its a start! Part two will be up in the new year! I will fix any mistakes in a minute! Also for some reason I have a headcanon that Rainbow's real name is Jennifer. Welp, hope you guys like this. And Merry Christmas! :D

Like Mother, Like Daughter Part 2

"She locked herself in the bathroom and won't come out." Twilight said as she sat back down on the couch next to Firefly.

The older woman shook her head. "I should have known she would react like this."

"Why is your relationship with Rainbow so strained anyway? Did ya'll have a fight or somethin'?" Applejack asked, handing the woman a warm cup of hot apple cider. She retook her seat next to Pinkie and gave the woman an attentive look.

"Something like that." Firefly murmured.

"Oooh story time!" Pinkie squealed only to be shushed by the other four girls as Firefly took a shaky breathe.

"It was about a month before she moved here to Ponyville..."

Rainbow Dash slammed the front door closed as she followed after her mother, fuming. “How could you?!”

“Squirt, listen please I-” Firefly tried to explain.

“You knew how important this is for me!” Rainbow shouted at her. “You freaking knew!”

“I did know. I still do. Something just came up and I won’t be able to make it. This isn’t the first track meet I’ve missed.” Firefly responded, sighing as her daughter stormed around the house seething.

“Do you know how many meets you’ve actually made it to?! Three. Three freaking meets mom! And you wanna know when the last one was? Fifth fucking grade!” Silence fell upon them as Rainbow’s words hung in the air. “This is my last track meet of my high school career. If you’re not going to be there, then I’m not going.” The rainbow haired girl said with finality. She began to stride up the stairs to her room.

“What?! But what about those people from the colleges?! Won’t they be coming to see you?!” Her mother called up to her. “You can’t just throw a fit just because I wont be there! You need to start acting like an adult!”

Rainbow stopped dead in her tracks. She spun around furiously. “Me?! I need to start acting like an adult?! You really wanna go there?! How about you act like a fucking mother for once and think about your child and not your stupid job?!” And with that, Rainbow slammed the door, separating herself from her mother for the rest of the night.

“I really wanted to go and cheer her on, but the deal I had to strike with the people my company had been working with was just as important. The meeting ended early, and I rushed over to the school only to learn the competition had just ended.” Firefly sighed. “I feel awful about the whole thing but she just won’t listen.” She chuckled a little. “She really is my daughter. Just as stubborn as me.”

Twilight put a hand to her chin in thought. “Hmm...If she won’t listen, then we’ll just make her listen. Applejack?” She called to the girl beside her.

The farm girl hummed in agreement. “Eeyup.”

“And how do you all suppose you’re gonna do that?” Firefly asked skeptically.

Applejack proudly raised both of her biceps grinning. “With the help of Bucky Mcgillicuddy and Kicks MGee.”

The door to the bathroom was jerked open, nearly scaring the crap out of Rainbow. She had been so busy sulking that she didn’t even realize it was open until a pair of tan hands yanked her up from off the floor.

“What the hell, Applejack?!” She demanded, kicking and trying to wiggle out of her friend’s grip. But it was no use. Applejack was one of the strongest girls she’s ever met. She may not have looked like she had the muscles to back the claim, but once she got a hold of you, you’d second think your position on the matter.

“Yer gonna talk to your mama whether you like it or not!” Applejack grunted as she struggled to keep Rainbow Dash in her arms. She may have been stronger than her, but that girl was fast and could easily maneuver her way out of someone’s grasp if she really wanted to.

Rainbow Dash was promptly thrown in a chair in the living room in front of everyone. Not a second later, she felt rope being tied around her midsection by Applejack. Only then did she stop fussing. With Applejack tying her up, she wasn’t going anywhere.

Firefly flipped a chair backwards in front of Dash and sat in it. “Great. Now that we’ve got you, I’d like to talk to you for a moment.” She said smirking. Rainbow refused to look her in the face. Firefly rolled her eyes. If she wanted to do this the hard way, they could do it the hard way. “Twilight, c’mere for second?” She said, motioning towards the princess. Twilight pointed a finger to herself for clarification, and when Firefly nodded, she crossed the room.

Firefly stood up out of her chair and then stood behind Twilight. All eyes were watching them curiously, wondering as to what the businesswoman was about to do. Firefly lead Twilight to the chair then made her sit in it. Rainbow stopped fuming long enough to give her mother a questioning look that was replied with a sly smile.

Firefly then walked behind the chair so that she was now standing behind Twilight. “Okay. Since you want to be a little stubborn bitch, let’s play a game.” She directed towards her daughter as she put a hand on Twilight’s shoulder. “For every minute you don’t talk, I will do something naughty to Twilight.”

The other girls in the room gasped. Twilight’s head snapped up at the woman above her, then quickly gave her friend in front of her a worried look.

“You’re bluffing!” Rainbow shouted at her.

“Am I?” Her mother countered, raising an eyebrow. She let her slim fingers ghost over Twilight’s neckline, causing the girl to shiver.

“I-I don’t think she’s bluffing.” Twilight stammered, squeezing her legs together. A blush was creeping on her face, and it wasn’t just from the embarrassment.

“Fine! I don’t care as long as you stop molesting my friend in front of me!” Rainbow Dash shouted with her eyes closed, trying to shut out the image of her mother fucking her friend. A small part of her thought it was hot even though she fully knew it was morally wrong.

Firefly smirked triumphantly. “Good. But just know, the moment you stop, I’m gonna make little Twilight here scream my name.” She patted Twilight on the back. “Now, why is it that when I came all the way out here to see you, you don’t look so happy to see me?” She asked her daughter a little hurt.

“You know exactly why.” Rainbow grit through her teeth.

“Hmm, I do?” Firefly hummed as her red lips touched Twilight’s neck causing her to gasp. “Care to elaborate?” She added, one of her hands creeping up Twilight’s shirt. Twilight squeezed her legs together even more and squealed when Firefly’s lips found themselves on her collar bone.

“You skipped out on my track meet. And then you didn’t even apologize for it.” Rainbow mumbled. She had long ago repressed the memory.

“Oh but honey, that was almost two years ago. You have to let it go sometime.” Her hands were getting a little frisky, as she was wrapping them around Twilight’s breasts. Then she leaned over and looked inside Rainbow’s shirt and gasped. “Dashie, you never told me you started wearing bras!”

Rainbow blushed. “I-It’s a new thing! I didn’t do it because you told me to!” She replied defiantly.

“Then why did you?” Firefly asked her curiously, stopping her assault on the girl in front of her much to everyone’s relief. “There must be a specific reason you just suddenly decided to wear bras and not bind your chest.” She folded her arms as a cocky smirk crossed her face. "I've been bugging you for years to put on a bra and you've always refused. What could possibly just up and change your pretty little mind?"

“Soarin! The Wonderbolt~!” Pinkie answered for her exuberantly.

“Dammit, Pinkie!” Rainbow growled, throwing her head back angrily feeling betrayed. She tried to wiggle one of her hands free, but couldn’t. She dared herself to look up at her mother, who was all ears.

“Oh, do tell me about this Soarin boy.” She egged on, never breaking eye contact with her daughter.

“He’s one of the newest members on the team. If I remember correctly, you endorsed him, did you?” Rarity questioned, a little amused.

Rainbow stared daggers at her.

“That I did. Looks like my little Dashie has an itty bitty crush.” Firefly pulled up another chair next to her daughter, the smirk brewing on her face a dangerous one.

Rainbow’s eyes widened in horror.

Firefly put an arm around her daughter. “Looks like you’re staying put, sweetie. We’re gonna be here for a while.”

Home Sweet Broken Home

“Alright Squirt,” Firefly decided, rolling up her sleeves. “I’ll make this easy for ya.” She got up from the chair and stood in front of Rainbow Dash.

“Oh like you made my teenage years so easy for me?” Rainbow bit, grinding her teeth in agitation. She was seriously going to kill Pinkie once she broke free. She couldn’t believe that idiot had the nerve to tell her mother that she had a crush on Soarin!

“Now, now, no one likes a bitter virgin.” Her mother quipped. She smirked when she heard Dash thrashing against the chair. “Anyway, you don’t have to tell me about your little crush, but you are going to explain to me why you’re wearing a bra all of a sudden. Or is he really the reason?”

Rainbow blushed. “N-No! They convinced me!” She jerked her head towards her friends. If she was going down, they were going down with her.

“Hmm? Is that true, Twilight?” Firefly asked.

Twilight sheepishly nodded, a chill running down her back from remembering the woman’s touch. “Y-Yes ma’am. We convinced her. But only cause she wanted to be sexy for once.”

Rainbow’s eyes nearly bulged out of her head. She’d rather take her mom knowing about her crush on Soarin than her knowing about that! Her head whipped in Twilight’s direction, giving her a glare that could rival Fluttershy’s Stare.

“Well it’s the truth!” Twilight protested, her hands up in surrender.

“You? You wanted to be sexy?” Firefly laughed. “For who? all throughout high school you were so busy focusing on your track career you didn’t even want to so much as look at a boy. And now all of a sudden you want to be Ms. Victoria’s Secret?” The business woman put her foot up on the chair. “Spill the beans, Dash. You’re surrounded.”

Rainbow snorted. “And why should I tell you anything?” She sneered. “You’ve done nothing but make fun of me my entire life. How can you even call yourself a mother when all you act like is a teenager?!”

Firefly rolled her eyes. “Oh please! Name one time I acted like a teenager!”

“Sixth grade, Parent Teacher Night.” Dash stated, frowning.

“As if I can remember something as far back as that.” Her mother scoffed.

Rainbow snarled. “Alright. Then let me refresh your mind for you.”

Dash stood outside her teacher’s classroom tapping her foot in agitation. She kept periodically looking down the hall, and sighed when she finally saw who she was waiting for. “You’re late.” She grunted, shoving the door open, not even waiting for her mother to step through.

“I had to work late, sue me. It puts a roof over your fuckin’ head.” Firefly responded, taking off her sunglasses. She followed Rainbow inside the classroom and sat in front of the teacher’s desk in a student’s desk. Being the busty woman that she was, she couldn't actually fit all the way in without some trouble. Dash groaned.

“Good evening, Ms. Firefly. I’m very familiar with your work. My son loves the Wonderbolts.” Her teacher greeted with a smile that looked like she had practiced for the past twenty minutes.

Firefly shook her head. “Oh, thank you, that’s very nice and all, but I’m no longer apart of the team. I may have started it, but it’s hard to run when you’re nine months pregnant with your first child.” Dash groaned again. “I own a sporting agency now that works with the team and other sports teams from Hoofington, Manehattan, Ponyville and most importantly, Canterlot.”

Rainbow was impressed. Her mother actually sounded professional for once! That pride was soon doused, though. “Though to be honest, the best talent usually lies here, within Cloudsdale.” Firefly gave the woman a lascivious grin, implying a double meaning.

“Yes, well, that’s nice to hear.” Rainbow’s teacher replied awkwardly. She cleared her throat and began to give her report on Rainbow. “Your daughter is very distracted. She usually spaces out during class and does not participate in the class activities. Is there something going on at home?” She asked, concerned.

“No, no. Absolutely not. What gave you that idea?” Firefly asked, almost appalled. Almost. By the way Dash could see her mother side glancing her, she knew she was embarrassed that their relationship problems had leaked into her schoolwork.

“Well,” Her teacher folded her hands. “At the beginning of the year she was getting excellent grades in all her subjects. Now, she barely does any homework, almost never shows up to class, and bullies the other students.”

Dash slid down a little in her seat, partially covering her face.

Firefly glared at her. “Well, when we get home I will be sure to have a stern talk with her.” She assured the teacher.

Rainbow snorted. Stern talk her ass. All she was going to do was give her a ‘Don't do that again’ lecture and be on her merry way. She was only acting out because her mother’s new job caused her to work late hours and be away from home. Dash only saw her in the mornings, if that. And if she had to see another take out menu, she was going to puke.

“Have you ever taken into consideration that your long work nights may be affecting your relationship with your daughter?” Her teacher suggested. “And causing her to act out in school for your attention?”

Dash’s ears perked up at this. Maybe she was just trying to get her mother’s attention. After all, when her father left, the only parent she really had was her mother. And now that she was working late and taking business trips it was just her by herself in that big mansion. She was lonely. And that was the only thing Dash hated more than losing.

“Are you saying that I don’t care for my child?!” Firefly barked protectively. Dash sat up. She hadn’t heard her mother speak in a tone like that in a long time.

Dash’s teacher was taken aback by her sudden hostility. “No, not at all. But I do think it would benefit you both if you spent more time with her. It would show both at home and in her school work.”

“Well I think-”

“She’s right.” Dash spoke up for the first time, not looking at her mother or her teacher. “You’re never home. I never see you. You don’t even come to my track meets anymore!” She shouted angrily, tears beginning to sting in her eyes. “You don’t even treat me like your daughter! You just treat me like I’m just, just there! Like I'm some freaking heavy burden or some unwanted responsibility!”

“Is that how you feel?” Firefly asked softly. Dash nodded. “After all that I’ve done for you?! That’s how you fucking feel?! Who buys you those hundred dollar shoes for you to go to those track meets, huh?! Who clothes you, feeds you, gives you things?! Who is the only person still here for you?! Because it sure as hell isn’t your father!”

Dash angrily rose from her seat and stormed out the classroom, the door slamming roughly behind her.

“Dashie had a really good relationship with her father.” Firefly explained, seeing the incredulous looks on the girls’ faces when Rainbow was done with her story. “I guess I was always jealous of that. And it made me feel like shit. So I guess, in turn, I made her feel like shit.”

Applejack whistled. “Wow. Talk about a wayward family.” She then turned to Rainbow. “No wonder you turned out the way you did.”

“Watch it, Applesmack.” Dash warned.

Pinkie giggled. “Hehe! She called you Applesmack!”

Twilight hummed in thought. “Actually, statistically, you turned out better than you should have. My readings on children from troubled families say that you should have been a convict or a crack whore by now.” The others stared at her. “I said statistically. I never said it was completely accurate.” She added with a dull look.

“Anyway, I think that your problem with your sexual self esteem stems from your relationship with your mother. You believe your self worth is less than it really is, mainly because you had someone as high positioned and frankly attractive-” Twilight blushed- “-as your mother, bringing you down constantly.”

“Thanks for that in depth analysis, Dr. Phil.” Rainbow told her sarcastically. “If I wanted a broken home diagnosis, I would have gone on the show myself!”

“Well she’s not wrong.” Fluttershy piped. “You were so nervous that day Thunderlane asked you to prom because you were afraid to tell your mother. You turned him down because you thought she would laugh in your face.”

Firefly let out a loud laugh. “She’s right, I would have!”

Everyone glared at her.

“What?!” She barked.

“I think the best thing to do is for you two to do is to talk it out- Alone.” Twilight said with finality. “The only way your relationship can at last start to get better is if you both are willing to talk to each other.”

“Isn’t that how we got here?” Applejack asked. “Ah mean, Dash didn’t wanna talk to her, we kinda tied her up, and now they’re still fightin’.” She scratched her ear. They really didn’t leave square one yet, huh?

“Kinda?!” Dash echoed, glaring at her incredulously. “You tied me up like I was one of your rodeo pigs!” She wiggled around for emphasis.

“Well it ain’t like you were willin’ to sit! We had to damn near drag you out the bathroom!” Applejack responded pointedly, folding her arms. “An’ we don’t tie pigs, we tie hogs! Learn before you start insultin’ people!”

Twilight pinched the bridge of her nose. “Dash if I give you twenty dollars will you please go with your mother and work this out? I don’t think I can listen to you all squabble like infants anymore!”

“Deal!” Rainbow exclaimed, as Applejack untied her. Twilight sighed in relief before digging in her pocket and handing her the bill.

Rainbow held up the dollar to the light and snickered, turning to Firefly. “What do you say Ma?" She asked her, smirking. "Wanna go grab some drinks?”

An Unwanted Trip Down Memory Lane

“Jesus, are you trying to die early?” Rainbow asked as she watched her mother down another glass of whiskey. Firefly sniffed and wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, then slammed the other one on the bar to get the bartender’s attention- no doubt for another drink.

“Aw, don’t be a baby. I bet you get wasted with your friends all the time.” She responded, nodding at the keep as he handed her her next drink. Which was true, but Dash was a lightweight, (She damn sure wasn’t going to tell her mother that,) And could only handle maybe two or three mugs of Applejack’s hard apple cider. The girl really knew her alcohol.

“You could say that.” She grumbled, stirring her pina colada. she heaved a sigh before taking a bored sip. Some hair fell over her face, and to her surprise, her mother pushed it behind her ear.

“You know, the times we had together weren’t all bad.” Firefly mused quietly. “Especially when you were a baby. Ha. You were a handful.”

Dash’s brows furrowed. “What are you doing?” She asked, watching her mother with a quizzical look. She didn’t understand why her mother suddenly had become so nostalgic.

“You wanted to talk, so I’m talking.” She responded with a tight lipped smile. “You gotta get through the daisies before you get to the shit.”

“I think you have that backwards, Mom.” Rainbow said, chuckling a little, despite herself. She took another sip of her drink before turning back to her.

“Ah, but you knew what I meant, didn’t you?” Firefly replied, tipping her glass towards her. She then sighed, and looked up at Rainbow with a serious expression. “Now, I think you’re old enough to know this, and I think it’s about damn time I told you.”

“Told me what?” Rainbow asked, watching her mother carefully. Was she going to tell her she was adopted?! She couldn’t be! She looked exactly like her! And if that wasn’t the case, what did she have to tell her?!

“I was seventeen years old when you were born. Your father was nineteen.” Firefly began. Dash’s eyes bulged in surprise. Her mom was a teen mom? “At first I panicked, thinking you were the worst thing that could have ever happened to me. Especially since I had so much going for me with the Wonderbolts and all the endorsement deals I had. But on the day you were born, the very second the doctor handed you to me, and I saw those small, beady magenta eyes, I knew I had made something magical.”

Dash was astounded, she had never heard her mother speak of her in this way before. She almost wanted to cry. Almost. She had a sneaking feeling her mother’s cozy attitude had something to do with her being nearly drunk.

“I know, you don’t believe me.” Firefly said, noting her skeptical look. ”I fucked up. I know. I fucked up, and I turned my brazen, confident, little kid into a sexually insecure, mad at the world teenager with Daddy issues.”

“Yeah, you’re not exactly Mom Of The Year.” Dash grumbled, turning away from her. She flagged the bartender down for a beer. She was going to need it.

“Mommy?” A five year old Rainbow Dash asked her mother as they crossed the street. They had just came back from the park and Rainbow had seen something that had been bugging her the whole time they were there.

“What’s up, squirt?” Firefly responded, bending down to her level once they reached the other side of the street.

“Why do the other mommies give you bad looks?” Rainbow asked curiously. She tilted her head in wonder.

Firefly opened her mouth and closed it before she could think of anything to say. “Well...” She tried. “Uh, some mommies don’t like the fact that Mommy is a little younger than them.” She answered her as they continued walking.

“Why?”

“Because that’s just how it is, Dash.”

“Why?”

“Why all the whys?” Firefly asked amusedly, ruffling her short, scruffy hair.

“Cause, I wanna know. Fluttershy’s mommy said that you're brave.” Rainbow said, kicking a few pebbles as she held her mother’s hand.

“I’m brave?” Firefly asked, clearly confused. What did she mean by that?

“Yeah. She said you’re brave for raising me with Daddy. She said not many mommies your age can take care of kids.” Rainbow replied, swinging her arms.

Firefly chuckled. “Yeah, she’s right about that.”

“I said that?” Rainbow asked, raising a brow. She couldn’t believe she was such a nosy brat. And then she almost snorted, because her mother turned out exactly the way Fluttershy’s mom had said she wasn’t going to. Sure Dash had a roof over her head and almost everything she ever wanted, but there was no love. Her father walked out when she was ten, her mother started belittling her when she was eleven, and then everything just went downhill from there.

“Of course. You were very gutsy. You get that from me. About the only thing you got from your father was his hair.” Firefly grumbled, then ordered a bloody mary.

“I don’t think twenty bucks is gonna cover all this stuff.” Dash worried, her eyebrows creasing. She watched as the keep handed her mother the red drink.

Firefly waved her off. “Don’t worry, I have my own cash. We’re rich, remember?”

“Oh yeah.” Dash said, rolling her eyes. “How could I ever forget?”

A ten year old Rainbow Dash sat in front of the T.V. eating a bowl of popcorn as she watched an old VHS of her mother running on her high school team. She was thinking of following in her mother’s footsteps, becoming a track star and eventually moving on to the Wonderbolts. She wanted to make her mother and father proud.

The front door opened and Rainbow quickly turned off the T.V., and hastily ejected the tape, shoving it in the box and setting on back on the shelf above the entertainment center all before her father could step through the door.

She flipped to a random channel and sat upright as he walked into the living room. “Hey.” She greeted happily, digging her hand into the bowl. “How was work?”

Storm threw his jacket onto the coat rack by the door. “None of your business. Where’s your mother?” He grunted walking past her and into the kitchen.

“She’s uh, in the weight room. Why?” Dash asked, taken aback a little by her father’s negative attitude. Had he had a bad day at work? On the way home? Was she in trouble? She was pretty sure she hadn’t done anything bad in school. She got straight As and was at the top of her class.

She heard her father’s footsteps stomp angrily down the stairs into the basement of the mansion where the weight room was. Dash tip toed behind him, keeping a far enough distance that he didn’t hear her behind him. When he stepped down the last stair, she stood back, holding the banister. He opened the clear door to the weight room and found her mother blasting music while beating up a punching bag. Dash had nearly forgot her mother had started picking up kickboxing.

She half expected her mother to stop what she was doing.

But she didn’t.

Firefly saw him out the corner of her eye and kept punching the bag. “Talk.” She commanded in a bored tone, then roundhouse kicked the bag. Dash guessed that it probably weighed at least sixty pounds.

Storm turned the music off and then turned back to his wife. Firefly continued to punch the bag, saying nothing. Dash gulped. She knew something wasn’t right here.

“Firefly.” Her father stated. “Firefly!” He yelled when she continued to punch the bag still.

Firefly gave the bag one last hard punch. “WHAT?!”

Dash jumped at the volume of her mother’s voice.

“Did you take money out of Rainbow’s college fund to put into the stock market?” Storm asked his wife, not flinching one bit. He was used to her outbursts and anger issues.

“Yeah.”

“How much.”

“How much what?”

“How much did you take out?!” Her father repeated, his own voice raising now.

“Twelve thousand dollars.”

“Yeah, and you know what you just lost?” He asked, holding up a newspaper. “Twelve thousand dollars!” He threw the paper in Firefly’s direction, which she let drop to the floor.

“I didn’t care when it was your money. Because it was your money left over from your time with the Wonderbolts. But dipping into our daughter’s college fund for something as frivolous and dangerous as the stock market is careless!”

Firefly folded her arms. “Tch. It’s not like you’re the one making money for this family. I’m the one running the damn company.”

Dash could see that her father was red in the face. “You have no concept of money do you?! You’re still that superficial mindless seventeen year old you used to be! Nothing changed!”

“And who’s the fuckin’ idiot who married that seventeen year old, huh? Who’s the fuckin’ moron who knocked up that fuckin’ seventeen year old, huh?! I had so much going for me and you just had to ruin it!” Firefly punched the bag out of frustration and watched herself in the reflection of the mirrors lining the walls. Her hair was sticking to her face in wet sweaty clumps and she was red with anger.

Dash was scared. She had never seen her parents fight like this before. Did they always fight like this? Over money? Over her? Did they not fight around her because they didn’t want her to know that they were having problems?

Then, a sickeningly nauseating feeling washed over her. Her mother’s words echoed through her mind as she stared at her mother’s back. Firefly wasn’t talking to her father. Firefly was talking to her. Her reflection had showed up on the mirrored walls because she had taken a step down unknowingly. The last part of what she said was meant for her.

Her own daughter.

Firefly gasped and spun around to stare at Dash in the face. “Squirt, wait-”

Rainbow Dash ran upstairs without a second thought.

Dash didn’t remember much after that. There were a few gaps in between her memory after that. All she really remembered was her father leaving a few months later without a goodbye. She hadn’t seen him since.

Dash put her head in her hands and groaned. Her home life was so fucked up. How she didn’t turn into one of Twilight’s statistics, she didn’t know. She realized she had been crying. She really, really, hated crying.

Firefly said nothing for a moment. Then, “You uh, you remember what I said, huh?” She murmured after an awkward pause.

Dash nodded, taking a swig of her beer.

More silence.

“I’m sorry.”

“I bet you are.” Dash bit back.

Firefly slammed her hand on the table. “Goddamit Dash! What the hell is it going to take for you to forgive me?!” She shouted, drawing the attention of a few bystanders.

“You really wanna know how you can make it up to me?!” Dash asked, her voice raising an octave. She threw on her leather jacket and got up. “Stay out of my life.” She said, leaving her half of the bill on the table and walking out.

The Bright Side To The Down Side

Rainbow growled as she angrily stepped outside of the bar. She stomped down the street looking down at the ground. Without knowing, she hit something hard. Looking up, she saw it was Soarin. Blushing she quickly stepped away. “S-Sorry about that,” she mumbled, trying to fix herself.

He smirked. “S’no problem. Why so pissed?” He asked, seeing the distressed look on her face while stuffing his hands in his Wonderbolts team jacket.

Rainbow sighed. “My mom decided to drop back into my life. And as you can see,” She laughed dryly, pointing to the tears in her eyes, “It’s not working out so well.” She wiped the tears away and sighed. She hadn’t wanted to look like this in front of him. She was a mess. Her eyes were red, her face was puffy from crying, and she looked like she was going to start sobbing any moment.

“Family issues huh? Well, we all go through them.” He shrugged. “You got nothing to be embarrassed about. Especially around me. We’re friends, right?”

Rainbow’s eyebrows shot up at the word. Friends? Of course they were friends. Not only have they met on numerous occasions, she’s the one who set Spitfire and the others straight when they tried to con her into replacing him. Her lips dipped down in a frown. She still didn’t want him to know about her problems though.

“Why don’t you go for a jog with me? Maybe that will take your mind off things?” He suggested, a tone of hope in his voice that made Rainbow’s heart leap.

Maybe she should go jogging with him. This would be a good oppertunity to finally tell someone all the skeletons in her closet, and get close to the person she had a crush on. “Sure.” She answered with a nod. “I don’t have anything else to do.” She nearly smacked herself for how bored she must have sounded.

Though Soarin thought nothing of it. “Sweet.” He said with a charming grin. “Let’s head to the park.”

“What do think is taking her so long?” Twilight mused, tapping her finger against her chin as she once again looked at the clock on the wall. It had been nearly an hour and a half since Dash and her mother left. Twilight knew things weren’t going to go as well as she hoped, but she was surprised it would take this long, given Dash’s temper.

“Maybe she got into a fist fight with her mom!” Pinkie suggested, animatedly pounding her fist. “And! And! Solved their problems old western style! Yee-haw!” She yelled, waving an imaginary cowboy hat in the air.

“Ah find that mighty offensive.” Applejack grumbled, punching her over the head. “We country folk don’t turn into brawlin’ idiots every time we drink. ‘Specially not my kin.” She added, folding her arms.

“Aren’t the both of you cousins anyway?” Rarity asked, waving a hand between the both of them as she finished up a braid in Fluttershy’s hair.

“Distant.”

“Twice removed!”

“Isn’t that the same thing?” Fluttershy asked with a tilt of her head. She soon regretted it though when Rarity tugged at her hair, letting her know she needed to keep still in order for her to finish the braid she had just started.

Both girls shrugged.

“When ya get down to the technicality of it, it becomes confusin’. Even for me.” Applejack answered tugging at Pinkie’s ear. “Though that don’t excuse what you said earlier.” She directed towards her with a wry grin.

“If I say sorry, will you let go?” Pinkie whined like a child, kicking to distract herself from the pain.

“Oh for Christ’s sake let the girl go before you stretch out her ear.” Rarity commanded, throwing the comb at Applejack, who easily dodged the flying projectile. “You’re both adults acting like children. Can’t you two at least get along until Rainbow Dash gets back?”

Applejack opened her mouth to say something, but Rarity held up a finger. “I don’t care who started it. One of you has to be mature enough to end it. Understand?”

Applejack closed her mouth and rolled her eyes defiantly. “Yes ma’am.”

Twilight put her book down and sighed. She had tried to pick up something and read, but a feeling was nagging at her. “Speaking of Rainbow, aren’t you guys worried about her? I mean, she hasn’t seen her mom in two years. And then her mom hasn’t changed at all, which means she’s still-”

“Brash?!”

“Overbearing?!”

“Insensitive?”

“Mean?!”

Twilight nodded. “Not the adjectives was was looking for, but yes. And you all know how Rainbow is. She has a short temper. Putting her in a bar with her mother was-”

“Heartless?!”

“Dumb?!”

“Thoughtless?”

“Cruel?!”

“Gee, thanks for the support, girls.” Twilight grumbled sarcastically, rolling her eyes. “I guess what I’m trying to say here is, I’m really worried for her. She’s our friend. And she’s been going through a lot lately. I don’t want to see her hurt herself.”

Applejack put a hand on her shoulder. “Honey, if there’s anything I’m sure about, it’s that Rainbow Dash will most definitely hurt herself.” She saw the confused look on Twilight’s face and continued with, “But that’s apart of life. That’s how she learns, Twi. And today isn’t going to be different from any other day she scrapes her knee.”

“Very profound, Applejack.” Rarity complimented.

Applejack shrugged. “Ah heard my Mama tell my Dad that about me once. Ah guess that’s why me and Dash get along so well. We’re both hard headed and stubborn.” She chuckled.

“Achoo!” Rainbow sneezed, wiping her nose. “Holy shit, is someone talking about me?” She grumbled to herself she ran next to Soarin. She could have sworn someone just was.

“What?” He asked, turning around to give her a confused look.

“Oh, uh, nothing.” She responded rather quickly. She didn’t want him to catch her talking to herself and think she was nuts. “So, whatcha doing in Ponyville still? I thought you would have to get back to the others by now.”

Soarin shrugged. “Spitfire’s not really doing anything specific, and we don’t leave for Cloudsdale till tomorrow. I’d thought I’d come see you before we left though because we’re leaving in the morning.”

“Y-You wanted to see me?” Dash stuttered, blushing despite herself.

He laughed. “Yeah, I mean, I love Spitfire and Fleetfoot, but you’re the only girl who can really keep up with me. I like that about you. You’ve got heart, determination, and you’re not afraid to work towards where you want to be. And,” He added softly, caressing her cheek, “You don’t let your past define you.”

Rainbow could hear her heart in her throat. “Uh, um...I uh...” She tried to form a coherent sentence but couldn’t seem to find the words. Realizing something, she stepped away from him.“Wait, wait, I read in the tabs that you were dating Spitfire. You can’t be touching me like that in public!” As much as she was loving the attention she was getting from him, she couldn’t possibly let herself be labeled as a homewrecker. (Her mother would have a field day. Though, it’s not like she cared what she thought at this point.)

Soarin snorted. “You really believe those things? I’ll let you in on a little secret, Dash. We just tell the mags we’re dating so it creates publicity for the team. Seriously, I love Spitfire and all, but she’s like, 3 years older than me. It’d be too weird.”

Rainbow couldn’t help but let out a laugh at that. “Are you sure?” She asked softly, her eyes looking into his, before shifting to his lips.

He pulled her closer with a devilish smirk. “Positive.” He reassured her, lifting her chin so that her lips were at the level of his. He gave her a short-lived kiss that made her groan in displeasure when he ended it.

Dash looked up at him lustfully, biting her lip. She tugged at his Wonderbolts workout shirt in an attempt to bring him closer to her.

“Down, girl.” He teased with a laugh. “The manager would kill me if I came back to the hotel with hickeys and messed up hair.” He saw her pout and laughed again. “Don’t worry, I’ll be back. Hey, maybe you and the girls can come up to Cloudsdale and watch us run on Monday? I’m sure the team would be happy to see you again!” He suggested brightly.

Rainbow smiled. “Sure. I’ll be there.” she answered coolly, her heart beating a mile a minute as she spoke. She pulled him close for one more quick kiss and patted his chiseled cheek. “See you on Monday.”

Soarin nodded, grinning. “Yeah, Monday.” He responded, before jogging away after a wave goodbye.

Rainbow waited until she couldn’t see him anymore before she started to celebrate. Making girly squealing sounds she would kill anyone for teasing her about, she hopped up and down repeating, “Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!”

Author's Notes:

To explain the sneeze thing, In Japanese culture when you sneeze, it's a joke to say that someone must be talking about you. Sneeze once, they're talking about you. Sneeze twice, they hate you, sneeze three times in a row they want to kill you. Or so I've heard. Haha. Hope you guys liked this. It was the fist thing I was able to complete after recovering from my sickness. (I'm always sick, arent i?) anyway Adventures In Babysitting will probably most like be updated next week maybe. I dunno. I think I'm just gonna skip the second to last chapter and just roll with the ending. What do you guys think?

The Pain Of Spoken Words

Rainbow opened the door to the library an hour later and was bombarded with questions the moment she stepped her foot in.

"What took you so long?!" Twilight shouted.

"Are you okay?" Fluttershy asked meekly.

"You look a bit flustered, dear, are you alright?" Rarity worried.

"Did you give her the ol' razzle dazzle?!" Pinkie shouted.

Rainbow blinked at the sudden barrage of questions. "I'm fine." She smiled. "Great even."

“Something happened!” Pinkie gasped, pointing to her. “I know it! I know it! Spill it!” She goated.

Rainbow shrugged. “Nothing happened. I stormed out on my mom and told her to stay out of my life.” For some reason her shoulders slumped, and she suddenly felt guilty. Firefly wasn’t the best mother in the world, that was for sure, but she was still a mother. The only mother Dash had.

Everyone’s faces fell.

“Oh dear,” Rarity said, putting a hand over her mouth. “Are you alright, darling?”

Rainbow snorted. “Yeah. I’m cool. I mean, she’s caused nothing but trouble for me, am I right? I’m glad I’ll never see her again. I don’t even feel sorry for saying what I said.” There was a pain in Rainbow’s chest, but she quickly ignored it. Forcing herself to smile, she said, “So, who’s up for a trip to Cloudsdale?!”

Twilight gave her a confused look. “Not that I’d ever pass up a trip to Cloudsdale, but uh, what exactly are we going there for?” She asked, with her head tilted.

“Soarin invited us to watch him and the rest of the Bolts run in the semi-finals for the Championship.” Rainbow said proudly, her eyes lighting up with excitement.

“Ooooh, so that’s what took you so long!” Pinkie giggled. “You were with Soarin!”

“The Wonderbolt~!” Everyone else chimed in, making kissy faces.

Rainbow laughed nervously, blushing a bit. “C’mon guys, it was nothing like that.” She assured them. “I kinda just ran into him after I stormed out of the bar. Literally.” And she was glad for it too, because she actually felt a lot better than she did a few hours ago.

“Didja show him your Double Rainbooms?!” Pinkie asked, “Or did you just flash him with your awesome bra?!” She added, some how teleporting behind the other girl, squeezing at her breasts.

“Hey, cut it out!” Dash barked, swatting her hands away.

“I read in one of those sports magazines that he likes busty women. You wouldn’t happen to know anything about that, would you?” Rarity asked her with a sly smile.

Rainbow stood at attention. “N-No! I wouldn’t know anything about that!” She answered quickly, her tan face heating up. “I didn’t even know that until you just told me!”

“Really now?” Applejack asked, developing a smirk identical to Rarity’s. “If you know nothin’ bout what Rares is sayin’,” She approached Rainbow and examined her closely, making the other girl jump. Her grin widened. “Why are yer lips swollen?”

“T-They're not swollen! Y-You’re just imagining things!” Rainbow insisted, covering her mouth. She squeaked when she saw that the other girls had begun to crowd around her for a better look.

“Oh yes,” Rarity agreed with a knowing look. “That’s definitely the work of a long make out session.”

Twilight giggled. “No wonder you were so happy when you got back!”

Rainbow gulped. There was no way she was getting out of this now. “Fine, fine we kissed.” She grumbled. She covered her ears as the girls around her started to squeal.

Rarity clapped her hands. “Oh Rainbow Dash, that’s wonderful! Are you two an item now?”

Pinkie wiped a tear from her eye. “Look at our little Dashie, growing up so fast!” She sobbed, blowing into a handkerchief she produced out of nowhere. She gasped. “You know what this calls for?!”

Applejack pinched the bridge of her nose. “Ah swear to Faust, if you say a party, Pinkie-”

“A party!” Pinkie shouted, opening a party popper that let out way too much confetti for such a tiny thing.

“Pinkie!” Twilight groaned. “This is gonna take me and Spike forever to clean up!” She waved her hands at the mess surrounding them. “Why is it always parties with you?!”

“Cause, parties are fun! You need to lighten up, Twilight! Stop being such a grumpy bumpy!” Pinkie tapped the taller girl on the nose while making a little *boop* sound. “Besides, I think Dashie deserves it, since she’s been all rain clouds all day!”

Rainbow shook her head. “Nah, it’s fine, Pinks. Actually, the last thing I need right now is a party. I think I’m just gonna go home and get some sleep ya know? We leave for Cloudsdale tomorrow and I kinda wanna get up on time. I’ll see you guys later, alright?” She waved to her friends weakly before walking out the door.

“Oh my,” Fluttershy mumbled. “I don’t think things went so well with Rainbow and her mother.”

“Well she did tell her that she wanted her to stay out of her life forever. When you tell people those kinds of things it does kind of hurt both of you in the process.” Twilight reminded the meek girl.

Pinkie’s usual smile was an unsure scowl, and she was rubbing her arm as if she was uncertain if she could say what she wanted to say. “Well...I told my parents that I hated them when I moved out...” She confessed, barely loud enough for anyone to hear. It was so quiet, it actually rivaled Fluttershy’s smallest voice.

“What?!” Everyone said in unison, turning to her.

She jumped from having the attention suddenly on her since she had assumed that no one had heard her. "Yeah, I mean, I used to get beat a lot. Maud used to step in for me and stuff but then she’d get beat too.” Pinkie paused. “And when I turned eighteen I just kind of got sick of it and decided to leave. The last thing I said to them was ‘I never wanna see you again.’”

Rarity’s eyebrows shot up. “Well, I must say we are definitely learning some interesting things about each other today. Anyone else like to share any traumatic childhood stories?” She looked around at everyone else who just shrugged.

“I don’t believe Rainbow really wants her mom out of her life,” Fluttershy murmured. “I think right now she’s hurting, and she acted on impulse. Dash has always been the type to say something before she’s really thought it through. I’m not saying it excuses the way that Firefly has treated her, but you all saw the pain in her eyes. She really loves her mother.”

Applejack nodded. “Fluttershy’s right. Though Ah don’t think we should be discussin’ somethin’ like this right now ya know? It feels kinda disrespectful to be talkin’ about somethin’ like this when RD ain’t present.”

Twilight nodded her head too. “Applejack’s right. Let’s all just get some shut eye and hope for the best. We’ve got a long day ahead of us.”
