Chapter 1- Evicted

Present Time

Now Equestria is where we set our scene.  Many eons have passed the peaceful land by; many significant events have transpired to shape the wondrous place into the state it is now.  But two significant events stood out among many others.  The first was that both the celestial sisters had ascended to preside over the kingdom during Discord’s banishment, the latter of whom had long since been reformed.  The second event was Princess Twilight coming into being which heralded much happiness and prosperity.  However, preceding these events was when the children of the creator took up the jobs they had been raised to take.  Celestia and Luna raised and lowered their respective gravitational spheres, Discord made sure to even out the scales with his chaos so that the world would be chaotic enough to be interesting.  The Anemoi took up their duties of presiding over the seasons and the respective winds that came with them.  With that said, let’s talk about Eurus.

During his earlier years, his siblings taught him mastery over the ‘unlucky’ eastern wind.  The eastern wind was most difficult to control, it would blow wherever it would please and knock over objects that would dare stand before it.  Eventually Eurus made the wind yield and they became and acted as one, his cutie mark was evidence of that.  Eurus job was a simple one, The Wind Fox was charged firstly to bring in autumn.  He would change the leaves then chill the breeze which would then blow calmly whenever it was needed.  Then when it became time for Boreas’s time, Eurus would then do what he was famous for among his siblings, he would run.  Eurus’s hoof falls were quick and made nary a sound.  He would glide seamlessly through the glen with the wind itself bellowing behind him.  Every forest, glade, and orchard would be greeted by his trek.  Every leaf would then be knocked down with little effort, as it had always been.

But time and time again, the duty began to wear upon the spirits nerves.  Though he was eternal, he was still young and he possessed teenage arrogance.  Eventually it evolved into a lack of drive and he would always claim, he would get to it soon, soon never arrived.  Granted he would still change the leaves and chill the breeze, but he would never complete his sacred task.  Celestia, whom he took up residency beside, was a patient and wise mare who said he would eventually realize his error.  Unfortunately, patience can only go for so long and so far.

*

Celestia was going over some royal paper work.  The dreaded deed had long haunted her mind and formed the foundations for her most frightening nightmares.  One could only imagine what kind of nightmares would be brought on by paper work.  Luna of course would assist in the dreaded work load that would at times whittle away the wee hours of the morning, but even then their time was nothing but work.  Luna’s right ear flicked slightly at a distant sound which Celestia mirrored.

Celestia gritted her teeth slightly, “He’s at it again.”

Luna sighed and waved a caring hoof at her sister, “Come now sister, surely your famous royal patience won’t break all because of a mere celebration.”

Celestia sighed and massaged her forehead, “It’s not the party.  It’s just…for over 4 eons he’s been shirking his duties always saying,” she then spoke in a mock masculine voice, “I’ll get to it later Celly, chill out.”

Luna giggled slightly, “Brother always was laid back.”

Celestia was silent for a moment, “I’m going to kick him out.”

Luna blinked, “What?”

Celestia shook her head, “This has gone on long enough.  For a while now I’ve been thinking of how to handle him and I think the plan I’ve made will work quite well.”

“Sister be reasonable,” she stood up, “Eurus is a stallion of sound mind, surely if you explain the situation he will-“

A massive bass beat rocked the castle’s very foundations.  The resulting beat caused and ink bottle on Luna’s desk to spill all over her finished stack of paper work.  Her right eye twitched at the fact she would have to do it all from scratch once again.

Luna snorted in anger, “THROW. THE BUM. OUT.”

Celestia stood and opened her chamber door.

Many guards in the palace have never known about Celestia and Luna’s…let’s say extended family.  Most of the times whatever pranks HE pulled were taken as Celestia’s sense of humour working in overdrive.  This misconception earned her the hushed nickname of Trollestia, one such occurrence was when he hijacked a letter in transit and stole four gala tickets.  It would have been a trivial matter, if he had not rewritten the note as well.  When Twilight had sent her letter and enclosed just TWO of the six tickets, Celestia almost throttled the wind spirit.  But it was all in good fun and she replied with a suspiciously casual response.  One of the many reasons Luna and Celestia never told anypony about Eurus, The Anemoi, and Discords relation to them was mostly due to the fact that to many ponies would ask to many questions.  Questions which they were sworn NEVER to answer, Mother would be disappointed.

But this did not deter Celestia’s purposeful stride.  She walked to the highest room of the tallest tower and stood in the center.  Her horn gave a warm glow and a far wall adjacent to the door vanished revealing open air leading to a sheer drop.  Celestia stepped out and placed one hoof forward onto the threshold.  Once this had been done the wind around her surged to life and churned like the ocean.  Before her a massive horizontal tornado formed, but the funnel of wind soon broke apart to reveal a grand bridge made of polished grey marble.  The bridge itself formed into the very mountain Canterlot rested upon.  She walked toward the mountain, the bridge making what could only be described as melodic whispers.  She then stood before a mass of smooth oval stone and blinked.

“Mellon.”

A soft whistle split the stone in two.  Both halves swung inwards like doors as the solar princess entered.  The smell of incense and pine needles met her nostrils as she gently trotted down the hall.  Soon she came into an almost tribal looking sitting room, stone carvings, ornate statues, and royal furniture.  Seated on a double couch was her target.  A stallion that would stand a foot taller than many of her subjects and was just as lean as her was smiling like he was dreaming.  His coat was sleek and a healthy copper orange, his black tipped fox ears flicked as the cooing of the secondary inhabitants echoed in the chamber.  His mane was long and flowing and was the likes of an autumn leaf in color, the colors transitioning smoothly into each other.  Around him were two Naiads, ponies that possessed the most envious of curves and figures.  Both were twins, their coats were silky in appearance and a sapphire blue with an emerald sheen.  Both of their manes and tails were seaweed green and were so long and stringy that they touched the ground.

“Oh Eurus, you smell so nice.”

Eurus smiled and spoke in a smooth voice, “I get that a lot.”

“Rea, his tail is so fluffy.”

Eurus purred as Rea’s sister petted his trademark tail, “That’s what daddy likes Marina.”

Celestia spoke loudly, “Eurus.”

Eurus moved abruptly startling the Naiads, “Celestia?”

Celestia gazed at the two mares, “I trust I’m not,” her frown was as deadly as a blade, “Interrupting?”

Eurus looked at both siblings who vanished like water vapor, “No…of course not.”

He then lay out on his couch and flipped open a book, “So what brings you here today Celly?  Want to sneak more cakes?”

Celestia snorted in annoyance, “Pack your things.  You’re moving out.”

Eurus closed the distance immediately, “Sis you can’t be serious!”

Celestia stared him dead in the eyes, “Note. Serious. Face.”

Eurus stood tall, “I’m not leaving.  This is MY room, MY sanctuary!”

Celestia shook her head, “On MY Mountain, paid for with MY funds.”

Eurus looked at her, “Why?”

Celestia paced, “I’ve stood ideally by and watched you laze about.  Party without doing ANYTHING constructive,” her anger finally boiled over as her eyes whitened, “AND NOW I FIND YOU ALMOST RUTTING NAIADS?!”

Eurus looked to the side, “Foreplay first…”

Celestia’s eyebrows skyrocketed, “Excuse me?”

“Hey HEY!  Don’t you scold me!”

Celestia pressed her head against his as he pushed back, “Somepony has to because Mother knows She would do it.”

Eurus sneered, “Just because you’re the top dog on the sibling ladder doesn’t make you the boss of me.”

Celestia snorted, “As long as you live off of me it does!”

Eurus backed up and smirked, “Then how about this,” he sat on his couch and crossed his forelegs, “I’ll sit here, drink some rootbear, and you go sit on your princess throne Sun Butt.”

Celestia’s left eye twitched at her hated nickname, “Now you’re just acting foalish!”

Eurus then quickly retorted, “Takes one to know one.”

Celestia shook her head, “That makes no sense!”

Eurus looked to the ceiling, “I KNOW!”

Celestia sighed in annoyance, “Whether you like it or not, this is happening.”

Eurus then spoke two words that nopony would ever say to Celestia lest they wished to incur her wrath, “Make me.”

Celestia’s eyes glowed dangerously as her horn matched their luminosity.
