Chapter 6: The Story From Two Different Points of Views

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

Applebloom yawned as she stretched, the hard wood floor of the club house beneath her. She groaned when a surge of pain coursed through her body. She has got to stop sleeping on the floor with no support. She looked beside herself, seeing that her green haired friend was still asleep.

"Hey, wake up, Spike." She whispered, softly nudging the slightly older boy.

His bright dragon like green eyes opened, and he slowly sat up. "Where's Scoots and Sweetie?" He asked, looking around for the other girls.

"They went home after you fell asleep. Ah didn't wanna wake you so Ah let ya sleep. And then Ah guess Ah knocked out too." Applebloom responded. She gave him a warm smile afterwards.

Spike nodded. "Huh. What time is it?"

"Bout eleven. Why?" Applebloom asked.

"Oh horse apples! I gotta get home!" He yelled, scrambling to his feet.

"Where ya goin, Spike? Why ya in such a hurry?" The younger girl asked a bit confused.

“Home! Twilight will be angry if I’m not back there in time for our daily errands!” He made a move for the door, but turned around as he felt Applebloom’s hand on his arm.

“Relax. Twi an’ Jack went out for her birthday yesterday night. They both probably got drunk as hell and are sleeping it off.” The redhead further explained.

Spike raised an eyebrow.

“Ah can curse when no one ain’t around you know.” She sniffed.

Spike nodded. “Right. Anyway? Why don’t we head inside the house? I’m starving.” He grumbled, rubbing his growling stomach.

“‘Kay.” Applebloom responded, opening the door the the clubhouse and climbing down the stairs. Spike shut the door before following after her.

As they rounded the house and into the front yard, they realized Applejack’s pick up wasn’t there.

“Huh. She must still be at Twilight’s.” Applebloom mused, as she grinned.

“What’s so funny?” Spike asked, a little clueless.

“Oh c’mon, Spike. Don’t tell me you don’t see it.” Applebloom egged.

“See what?” Spike asked clueless.

“See that our sisters like each other! Ah mean, they are literally the worst people ever when it comes to hidin’ their feelings!” Applebloom shouted, waving her arms in Spike’s face.

Spike looked at her incredulously before swatting her hand away. “You’re crazy.”

“Am Ah? How bout after lunch we go ask the girls about what they think?”

Spike nodded. "Alright, you're on!"

The two of them raced into the house, shoving each other along the way.

After two helpings of mac and cheese courtesy of Granny Smith, the two friends set out to find their older acquaintances.

“Hmmm. Who can we ask about this....” Spike thought out loud as they stood in the Ponyville market place, which was the center of town. They looked about, trying to decide if they should follow the trail to Fluttershy’s cottage, or go up the road to Rarity’s boutique.

“Why don’t we go to Rainbow’s?” Applebloom asked.

“Why Dash?” Spike queried.

“Because you know....she’s not...uh...straight?” Applebloom tried, but still couldn't quite find the words to describe it. Dash’s relationships weren’t exactly a secret. Especially since she usually came to the farm to complain to Applejack about them. Applebloom would over hear and not understand how someone as brash and brazen as her could even have a romantic relationship with anyone.

“She’s dated guys too.” Spike defended. Then backtracked. “I think.” He muttered, trying to remember some of the conversations he had overhead in the library when no one thought he was listening.

“No one plays for both teams!” Applebloom said pointedly.

“Ask Scootaloo.” Spike chuckled.

“What?!” Applebloom barked.

“Er, nothing. Let’s just go see Rainbow.” Spike sputtered, pulling at her arm as they headed towards Rainbow’s condo.

Once they were there, they knocked a few times, then stood waiting for the older girl to answer. When she didn’t Applebloom put two fingers on the bridge of her nose. “Ah shoulda known she went with the others. She’s probably just as hungover as mah sister. But given the way she drinks she probably died from alcohol poisoning.” Applebloom muttered, banging on the door again. Then she stopped.

She stood back, and cleared her throat. “What are you going to do?” Spike asked, watching her as she rolled her shoulders and sniffed a few times.

“Just watch.” She responded, before taking a deep breath.

“Rainbow Dash if you don’t get yer sorry ass out here Ahmma tell the whole town whatcha did last July!” Applebloom yelled, but it wasn’t in her voice, it was in her sister’s. And very convincingly so.

“What the heck? How’d you do that?!” Spike asked in amazement, after she had finished her threat.

“When the same person’s yellin’ at ya fer the same stuff over an’ over, ya start mocking them.” The youngest Apple responded, smirking. “Ah get Mac and Granny with it all the time.” She snickered.

Before Spike could respond, there was a loud thump, followed by even louder swearing. A few minutes later the door swung open, revealing a naked Dash, in nothing but a bedsheet. “You little cunt, I thought that was really AJ!” She shouted pointing a finger in to Applebloom’s chest. “I can’t believe she told you what happened!” She added, folding her arms over her chest.

Applebloom smiled snidely. “She ain’t had to tell me. Ah saw it fer mah self.”

Dash glared at the younger girl, then directed her attention to Spike, who was trying to look everywhere but her body, blushing a bit. “What are you shits doing here anyway?” Dash growled looking back at Applebloom, wrapping the sheet around her more tightly.

“Mah sister and Twilight. Spike here don’t think nothin’ is going on between ‘em but Ah call bullshit.” She responded, seeing the attitude in Dash’s posture change. The athlete smirked.

“Man is he blind?! Poor Twilight! Applejack probably got her to bed last night and got in with her!” Dash laughed. “C’mon in, I’ll make you guys something it eat!”

The redhead shoved her friend inside and followed after him before closing the door behind her. They had never been in Rainbow Dash’s place, only Twilight’s and Rarity’s for obvious reasons. The older girls usually went since Rainbow’s place had a strictly “no squirt allowed” feel to it.

The place was a pigsty. There was clothes everywhere. Some Applebloom and Spike were sure didn’t belong to the older girl. There were trophies lining almost every inch of the wall, and where they didn’t cover, medals and certificates did.

A flat screen was turned on, and the buzz of background noise was heard as Dash started to cook something. She threw something in a pot before sitting down at her small dining table where the younger girl and boy both sat.

“So? Your sister come back yet?” Dash asked, lighting a cigarette. She offered the both of them one but they quickly declined. Shrugging, Dash put the box down on the table and flicked the ash away before taking a long drag and blowing the smoke out into their faces.

Applebloom shook her head, waving the smoke away. “Nope. Ah reckon she’s still at Twilight’s.” She responded, watching behind the tanned girl to see the pot on the stove was boiling over. Whatever was supposed to be cooking in it, she sure as hell didn’t want it now.

“No kidding? Her pick up wasn’t even in the driveway?” Rainbow asked in disbelief.

Spike shook his head. “Nope. I didn’t even get a text from Twilight.” He pulled out his cellphone to check again, and then shook his head again as an update.

“Well, kiddies, all I can say is that your sisters are probably getting it in right now.” Dash told them, leaning back in her chair, before laughing a bit. “You know, Applebloom, your sister has always been ambidextrous.”

It took Applebloom a minute to process what she had said before she grunted, “Yer really nasty, ya know that?”

Dash threw her head back and laughed even louder. “I kid! I kid! No but seriously, I do think they have something going on. Well, on Applejack’s side anyway.”

“What do you mean?” Spike asked.

“Well,” Dash started, “And you didn’t hear it from me okay? If either of you tell them I will pound you both!”

The two nodded in agreement before egging her on.

“Applejack totally wants to hit it.” Dash whispered.

“Ah knew it! Ah knew it!” Applebloom cheered, pumping her fists in the air. “Wait till the girls hear about this!”

“What did I just say?!” Dash barked.

“Oops, sorry.” the younger girl apologized.

Spike looked like he was deep in thought.

“What’s up, Sparky?” Dash directed towards him, extinguishing her cigarette. He looked like he was really contemplating something, as if he wasn't sure if he should say something or not.

“Well, on the way here, Applebloom said you only date girls.” He mused. “Is that true?”

Dash’s face showed a quick flash of suprise, and as quick as it came, it left, giving way to what looked like anger and irritation. “No! Of course not! Why would you believe such a thing like that?!”

“Well because-” Spike started, but stopped when he heard what sounded like footsteps coming from the back of the apartment that he guessed where Dash’s bedroom was. The footsteps came closer, and soon they were revealed to be Pinkie’s.

She looked like she had just woken up, and she too was wrapped in a bed sheet. Dash was blushing furiously. Pinkie looked over at the kids and waved half heartedly. “Hi you guys.” She said, her voice less bubbly than normal. She walked over to the stove and shut the pot off before pouring herself a cup of coffee.

Applebloom smirked, and Spike tried to hold in a laugh. Dash refused to look either of them in the eye and instead turned to the pink haired girl in her kitchen.

“Pinkie?! What the heck are you doing here? And why are naked?” She asked.

“Oh? You don’t remember?” Pinkie asked back, her eyebrows raising in surprise. “We went out for Applejack’s birthday and we went home together.” She bit her lip. “Also, I never left. And we...”

Dash threw her arms up, shouting, “Okay! I get it! We fucked! Please don’t bring it up in front of them!” She glared at the two in front of her before glaring at Pinkie.

The tired party planner shrugged as she leaned against the kitchen counter, and took another sip of coffee. “You’re the one who asked.” She grumbled into her cup.

“Not another word!” Was the other woman’s response.

Pinkie shrugged again, saying nothing more, and shuffled over to the couch, picking up the remote to start flipping through the channels.

Dash slowly turned back to the younger pair, with a glare that could rival Applejack’s meanest scowl. “You two squirts say anything about this I will personally kill you both and feed your innards to the pigeons!”

They both nodded wildly, wide eyed.

Satisfied, Dash folded her arms. “Good. Now scrat. I got things to take care of.”

“Ah hope you don’t mean Pinkie.” Applebloom wise cracked, causing the mentioned girl to cough up her coffee, going into a cross between a laughing fit and a coughing one.

Dash’s nostrils flared, and before they knew it, Spike and Applebloom were out the door, into the sunlight once again. The door slammed behind them, but it did nothing to hide the loud laughter coming from the other side.

They looked at each other, not sure what to do next.

“So...?” Spike started. “The library?”

Applebloom nodded. “The library.”
