(SiC) Part 4 - A Rarity Of A Situation
Chapter 1: A Deal With the Devil
Load Full Story Next ChapterRarity was leaning her hoof against the side of her cheek and sighed. She was staring out the window waiting for customers to come in. It was raining, and the sounds of the pitter patter of rain drops crashed against the roof of her boutique. Rarity sighed again and wondered how she would pull through this all. She was losing business and ponies just weren't interested in shopping at her boutique anymore. Rarity was afraid that she would have to close the shop down soon. She couldn't ask her friends for money or tell them about this because she was a generous pony and she just couldn't bear to tell them how poorly her business was doing. Rarity looked outside of the window and saw the gloomy day. It matched her mood perfectly. Rarity's ears perked up at the sound of hoof steps outside her door.
The door opened and a pony who was very familiar stepped inside with a very large crate and a book.
Rarity was stunned and instantly recognized who she was. "Sapphire Shores! The pony of pop! How may I help you Miss Shores?" she asked.
"I've told you before that I liked to be called Sapphire. I'm actually in a new business that I opened up in Manehatten, and I could use your help for designing new outfits for my employees!"
"Congratulations Miss.....I mean Sapphire! Exactly what kind of outfits are you looking for my dear?" Rarity asked.
Sapphire Shores smiled and she pushed over a book of some of her drawings that she had made, across the counter.
Rarity used her magic and opened up the book. Her face looked as if it were twisted with pain at the very first picture she saw. She skimmed through a few more pages and beads of sweat dripped down her forehead when she saw a picture that involved spiked heels and a whip. "W-w-what exactly are these outfits for? she asked. "They look as if they are a bit.....uh, provocative."
"I am now the proud owner of the very first strip club in all of Equestria! I opened up my place called Unbridled! It's located in none other but the famous city of Manehatten on Clop Avenue. It's located right in the heart of the city of sin!"
Rarity was trying to piece all of this together. "What exactly is the point of having a strip club when most ponies walk around naked all of the time anyway?"
"There's a culture in Manehatten that ponies like. If a pony is wearing clothing, then other ponies like to pay them money for them to take it all off slowly in a teasing manner. Clothing actually makes ponies look sexier and more desirable to clop to, and stallions are more than happy to spend a little extra cash to watch them do exotic dances around poles as they slowly take it all off. I also have many other services for ponies too, like for example, I have a few customers who are very interested in something more masochistic."
Rarity put her hoof to her mouth and puffed her cheeks out. She was trying not to vomit after hearing the information that she heard. "Why, I, uh..." Rarity was at a loss for words. She knew that what was before her was not lady-like and was certainly sinful. She tried to think of a fraudulent excuse, because she didn't want to tell Sapphire Shores that she thought her business was disgusting and degrading, but she didn't want to offend her since she was very well known and respected. "I really don't think I have the time to do all of this. I've heard that there is another boutique like mine in Canterlot. Perhaps somepony there could help you with your ideas."
"I come for the best of the best and I am willing to pay lots of money. I have done business with you in the past, and I was so very pleased with what you were able to produce for me. I don't care to find another place. Perhaps this will change your mind." Sapphire Shores placed the large crate on top of the counter and opened it up.
Rarity's eyes widened at all of the bits inside the crate. "Do you mean, if I do your bidding, I will be paid all of what's inside this crate?" the white unicorn asked.
"That's right, and I'll even promote your business in my club. I'll have special fliers printed up for you to attract ponies from Manehatten to your boutique! It will be a win-win situation!"
One of Rarity's eyes began to twitch like crazy when she did a double take on all those bits that were inside the crate. "I-I-I think I might be able to make some time for all of this," she said.
"I knew I could count on you!" Sapphire Shores said. We'll help each other out and together, we will become rich! I'd need all of these outfits done in one month. I've also written that in the book too as a reminder. I must go now. You know what to do, Miss Rarity! Toot-a-loo!"
Rarity nervously waved her hoof good bye at her customer as she walked out of the door and closed it. Rarity looked at the book and then at the crate full of money. She had just made a deal with the Devil, and she was going to follow through with it all. She figured that perhaps she could quit this little gig when she made enough money to save her own business.
A few weeks had gone by, and Rarity was busy packing away the costumes that she had created. She had to work with Spike to find many jewels to add onto the costumes to make them look flashy and desirable, but she was careful not to let him know what this was all about. She could only imagine the sexual temptation that would flood poor little Spike's mind if he saw Rarity dressed in one of these outfits.
Rarity continued to fold and put away the outfits. In the book that she was given, she was told to make multiple sizes of each outfit. The outfit she was holding just so happened to be her size. Rarity looked around the boutique nervously. She was hoping that Sweetie Belle wasn't around, then she remembered that she told her that she was going outside to play with her friends earlier. Rarity gave a nervous little grin as she used her magic to levitate the outfit onto herself. "It can't be too terrible of me to try this on now, would it?" she asked out loud. When Rarity finished dressing herself up, she looked at herself in the mirror. She put her hoof to her mouth and said, "Oh my, now I understand why stallions would enjoy such an outfit. It does seem to make me appear to be a bit more desirable." Rarity walked away and began to search for that one last outfit she was looking for. In the book that she was given, this outfit needed to be specially made for a very small mare because some stallions had fetishes for mares very short in height. "I know that was my smallest outfit, but where could I have placed it?" Rarity heard some giggling that sounded very familiar to her. She turned around and was appalled to find her little sister, Sweetie Belle, wearing the outfit. She was covered from head to hoof in black leather and was wearing a mask.
Sweetie Belle looked up at her sister and said, "How come you're making Halloween costumes so early this year? I found this costume that you made from the movie Bat Mare. I'm Cat Mare! What costume are you wearing Rarity?" Sweetie Belle took out a whip and snapped it against the ground. The loud cracking noise made Rarity jump back.
Rarity began to choke because she was so horrified. "Sweetie Belle! You lied to me! You said that you were going to spend the day outside with your friends! Why are you home so early?"
Sweetie Belle responded, "Apple Bloom fell down in a ditch and hurt one of her legs, and Scootaloo got distracted when she saw Rainbow Dash walk by and decided to ditch me for her. Can I take this costume outside and show my friends?"
Rarity's eyes opened wide at her little sister's request. "Absolutely not! I told you not to go snooping through my things, Sweetie Belle! Take off that outfit right now!"
"Awwww, but Rarity," Sweetie Belle protested.
"Right now, and don't you ever come inside my room when I'm working!" Rarity said.
Sweetie Belle struggled as she tried to take the costume off.
Rarity stepped in and used her magic to help her out. She took the outfit and placed it inside of a box. Rarity looked back at Sweetie Belle and said, "And don't you ever do anything like that again! Do you understand me?"
Sweetie Belle sighed and said, "I understand and I'm sorry for snooping around your room, Rarity." Sweetie Belle walked out of her big sister's room with her head hanging low.
Rarity put her hoof to her forehead and closed her eyes tightly. "The last thing I want to happen is having my little sister sexually corrupted. She is so pure and innocent," she muttered under her breath.
Rarity sat patiently at the front counter with all of the boxes piled around her. She worked furiously to get every single outfit done in time for her customer. Rarity also forced Sweetie Belle to spend the entire day outside playing with her friends so that she wouldn't see her business plan. Rarity's ears perked up when she heard the sound of hoof steps approaching the door. She said a silent prayer that it wouldn't be Sweetie Belle.
The door opened and in stepped Sapphire Shores. She came up to the counter and put her bag on top of it. "How did everything go? Were you able to get everything in done in time for the deadline?"
Rarity nodded her head yes and said, "Absolutely. Everything is finished and I worked to perfection with your ideas."
"Outstanding!" Sapphire Shores said. "Rarity, you are such a pleasure to work with and I have been getting very high requests from customers about a new employee they would like to see."
"W-w-what exactly do you mean by that, Sapphire?" Rarity asked.
"Stallions are going crazy over the picture they saw of you and many ponies agree that you would make an excellent addition to our line of strippers."
"WHAT!? I mean, how are ponies seeing pictures of me?" Rarity asked with a terrible look of concern on her face.
Sapphire Shores took out a flier from her bag. She pushed it across the counter over to Rarity. I promised that I'd make fliers about your business and promote it at my club, getting a photo of you was pretty easy since you are so well known. One of my most dedicated stallion customer was speaking about you and somehow he had an excellent picture of you. I thought it would be perfect!"
Rarity looked down at the flier and began to choke on her own saliva. There on the flier, was a picture of her posing in a rather romantic manner on a giant red fainting couch. "H-h-how did he even get this picture? I don't even understand how this all happened," Rarity said with a quivering voice.
"Oh, somepony who took that picture of you probably just got it copied and shared it with others. You really do have the perfect body and good looks to be a stripper, Rarity. I bet you would be my most popular stripper in the club. Would you like to have a job working for me?" Sapphire Shores asked as she smiled pleasantly at the marshmallow white unicorn.
Rarity found this idea so repulsive that she wanted to puke at the idea, but she didn't want to upset her customer or have such a big name like her, ruin her reputation as being the best clothing designer in what was probably all of Equestria. "I-I-I don't think I'd have the time to run this shop and perform as a stripper."
Sapphire Shores grinned and pulled out a check and shoved it across the counter with her front hoof over to Rarity. "I'll give you a little bonus!" she said.
Rarity looked down at the check and gasped. "T-t-t-ten thousand bits?" Rarity was about to put her hoof on the check, but Sapphire Shores teasingly snatched it away from her.
"That's an added bonus for you, but only if you work for me. Most of my strippers make hundreds of bits in one night, but you my dear, you would make so much more! I would expect for you to make thousands of bits in a single night!"
Rarity put her hoof to her chin and was deep in thought. "That is an awful lot of money. I could pay off some of my debt and perhaps buy a few new things that I have been wanting for the longest time," she thought to herself.
Sapphire Shores slowly pushed the check over the counter back to Rarity with her front hoof as if to add further temptation for her. "So, what will it be? Do you accept?"
Rarity closed her eyes shut tightly for a moment as if she were experiencing some kind of pain. She opened her eyes back up and slammed her front hoof onto the check. "DEAL!" she said in a desperate voice.
Sapphire Shores smiled. She knew Rarity would be her greatest hit at her club. Sapphire Shores walked back to the door and opened it up. "Come on in and help me load up the chariot, boys!"
Two Pegasus stallions came in and began to cart off the boxes that held all of the newly made outfits inside.
Rarity led the way out the door with Sapphire Shores, as the stallions carted off the very last box and placed it into the chariot.
Sapphire Shores turned to Rarity and said, "So, do you think you can start working tomorrow night? it's not a terribly long commute if you take the Friendship Express train. It's about fifteen minutes. I left you detailed instructions on how to get there inside that flier I gave you. Can you start at about eight O' clock tomorrow evening?"
Rarity paused for a moment. A sudden wave of guilt and shame plagued over her mind. She didn't want to do this, but she also didn't want to disappoint her new boss. "I can make it tomorrow," she said. I close my shop at seven O' clock at night, so this should all work out okay."
"I can't wait to see you then! You're going to make a fortune and you'll bring in so much business for me."
Rarity let out a nervous little laugh and waved good bye with her front hoof.
Rarity watched as the two Pegasus stallions took to the air with Sapphire Shores inside the chariot. She walked back inside and closed the door. She put her back to the door and took a deep breath. She heard a hissing sound and realized that her cat, Opalescence, was laying down on a book shelf and was pawing in the air at her with her claws out as if to show her great disapproval at what Rarity had just done. Rarity walked over to the counter and looked down at her pay check. She slammed her head against it several times and said, "I don't know what has come over me!"
Opalescence hissed at her again and left the room. She didn't even want to see Rarity right now.
