This is a story about how Equestria was almost destroyed, now before I start telling this story maybe

I should tell you about its hero. He is an alicorn named Gold wing of course his other name is Nightmare wing, now you may be asking yourself how can he be an alicorn? wouldn’t that make him related to the princesses? No it wouldn’t and I don’t feel the need to explain pony genetics to you, that’s not what this story is about. Anyway lets kick things off shall we? I met this young alicorn a very long time ago, his mother was a beautiful unicorn, and his father a strong loyal Pegasus, but sadly they were killed and he was forced to fend for himself when he was still just a foal. But because he was an alicorn he was also an outcast, considered a monster by most of those he met save for one Nightmare Moon who many of you now know as Princess Luna. But that’s another story and I don’t want to bother you with boring details about the past, I've had enough of that as it is.... anyway without further delay lets begin our story.

Images were rushing through my head, I was in a forest the same one I grew up in, I was running away from something or somepony I couldn’t see who it was. I didn’t even know why I was running, but for some reason I was scarred, something I haven’t been since I was a foal, I came up to a dead end leading to no where, there was only empty black space, I turned around to the creature that had been following me Its red eyes piercing my very soul it charged at me and everything went black. I woke up on the floor of my bed, taking a deep breath to collect my thoughts. What was that all about? I thought about the nightmare I just had and what it mite have meant, I had never had a nightmare not since I was a foal anyway. I shook my head, it's nothing I need to worry about it was just some stupid dream anyway; I made my way outside into the Everfree Forest, my home... I decided to get some early morning exercise and look for food, I'd go into town but I'm an outcast in both pony ville and Canterlot but that’s just the sad life I have being an alicorn. I should probably explain that, I wasn’t born an  alicorn but because of an "unfortunate" incident; My body contains some the darkness that was in nightmare moons soul, because of that I transform into a creature known as Nightmare wing every time the moon rises, I used to be controlled by it but as time passed I eventually learned to control it and now I'm feared for my power, which is why I live in the Everfree Forest away from all those "ponies" that despise me.... miserable creatures. I made my way back home when I noticed the door was opened, I know for a fact that I closed it so who could be in there? I thought that maybe just one of the animals from the forest mite have gotten in so I decided to look around just to make sure, after a couple minutes of looking around I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary so I decided to stop looking. I was just about to make my way to bed when a voice called to me from the kitchen, you know Goldy you really should keep your house more supplied on food what would you do if you had guests? There was only one pony who called my by that embarrassing nick name, it was the only friend I had in this world so I guess you can imagine I was a little more then happy. Snow is that you? I called out, walking into the kitchen to see a white Pegasus standing near the fridge eating one of the apples I had brought back from the forest. The one and only, he said with that familiar sarcastic tone. Snow was an history nut back in the day, he knew more about equestrian history then most any other pony in Equestria did and it made him very popular among historians, to this day I still don’t know how he knows so much. How did you get inside? I had locked the door on my way out so I couldn't figure out how he could have gotten inside. Snow looked at me with a devious smile on his face; I just rattled the lock a bit and the door opened, I thought that you were home but you weren't so I just decided to wait for you to get back. Couldn't you have just waited for me to get back? Instead of breaking into my house, I could have hurt you or worse? Snow laughed at this, But that wouldn't have been as fun as surprising you like I did. I shook my head in annoyance, he always did have a sick sense of the word “fun”. It was just then that Snow spoke up, I wish I could say I was here because I wanted to visit my old friend but that's not the case today. I was confused by this, then why are you here? Because... Snow stopped as if he was having a hard time saying something, Because I found the place where the pony who killed your parents is hiding. What! are you sure? My blood was boiling, I have been looking for my brother Azure, the one who killed our parents for years now so hearing that my best friend might have found out where he is just fills me with joy and more hatred then I can even begin to describe. I pushed Snow up against the wall, I didn't mean too but my adrenalin kicked in and I couldn't control myself. Where is he! tell me right now Snow or I'll.... I was pushed back, Snow brushed himself off trying to collect his thoughts. If you will calm down I'll tell you, now then just sit there look pretty and settle down. I took a deep breath and apologized to him, Snow sat down with a deep look of seriousness in his eyes. please Snow tell me, I have to know where he is. He looked at me and then back at the ground, I'm sure you know by now it was your brother who killed them right? well he was last spotted in the old castle of the two princesses. why didn't you tell me sooner! Because Gold I didn't know until just last month besides all this time I thought he was dead until I found one of his followers I made him tell me everything.... and that was what he had to say. I got up and started making my way to the door before Snow spoke up, Where do you think your going, I turned to look at him; where do you think? I'm going to find find my brother and make him pay, I'm sorry but I don't care if he is related to me, he had no right to do what he did!. No I'm sorry, But if I let you go after him you'll be playing right into his hoofs and I can't allow that. I stopped in my tracks and turned around, what do you mean? He want's your powers and if he gets a hold of them then Equestria will be destroyed. My power? you mean nightmare moon? what does my brother want with it? Snow took a deep breath, I just told you he wants to destroy Equestria but I don't know why and personally I just want him taken care of before he does anything else, So with that I'm leaving you in the care of Luna's guards, your going to stay here while I go look for him, Snow made his way to the door, two of the lunar guards standing guard outside my house. Oh and Goldy~ do try to listen to instructions this time, I don't want anything to get ugly. I rolled my eyes giving both the guards a smug look. thinks he can just leave me in the dark does he? sorry Snow but you've got to do better then this. I decided to go to bed or at least to make an escape plan, there's no way I'm going to let my brother go unpunished.
