There could probably be no more contrasting city than Hoofington, with the two completely separated and different social spheres. Hoofington with the classical east side, "Octy's people" Vinyl would say, and the raver party west side that were filled with Vinyl's people. It was natural that the two different lifestyles would be separated, as one side had one of the large classical centers, while the other side had the largest party studio. No self-respecting homeowner would purchase or live in a home near the studio, but on the other hoof. Many ravers found the cheap real estate prices to be a remarkable bargain and established then community around the studio.
"Vinyl, you obviously cannot go out to party today."
"I must and I will," a determined Vinyl Scratch pushed past her weary friend, "I can't miss this party, no matter what condition I am in. Aaaaa-cho."
Vinyl took a handkerchief and blew her nose into it, while Octavia just shook her head.
"I don't know why you would want to party in your current condition." Octavia took the handkerchief, grimaced, and tossed it into the sink, "I am more concerned with your health than you going out to have fun."
"Ah, don't worry Octy, I'm fine," Vinyl
"Hey! Look everypony! It's DJ-PON-3!" Somepony shouted out.
Everypony shifted their attention away from the current DJ to the champion was just walked in. Vinyl was not unnerved that the sudden shift of attention, as she was used to the popularity, but was somewhat annoyed by the four hunky bouncers that quickly went to surround and protect her. The beef bouncers were disguised by large black sunglasses, so Vinyl could not tell if they were the same ones that she had met before.
"Everypony make way," the steely-deep voiced bouncers directed towards the massive crowd that quickly emerged.
