It was a normal day just like any other, my big brother Blitz and I were just doing what we do best. Explore. Our house was by a large forest so we went exploring in it often, we didn't find many good things maybe a cool plant or even a funny looking animal. But today we found something much better.

"Hey big brother, whats this?" Blaze: 9 years old I show my brother the weird metal object I picked up.

"It looks like some really old coin." Blitz: 10 years old "Where'd you find this Blaze?"

"By that cave over there." I point my horn in the direction where the cave was.

"I bet we can find more if we go in."

"B... but it's dark in there."

"Don't worry I've been perfecting my illumination spell." Blitz's horn begins to glow but no difference of lighting occurs.

"It doesn't work big bro."

"That's because we have to go into the cave for it to work." Blaze said as he made his way into the cave slowly disappearing out of sight.

"......." I stood there looking into the cave. "W... WAIT FOR ME!" I yell charging into the cave trying to catch up to my brother.

After a short walk through the cave Blitz and I came to a dead end with a sign on the wall.

"Well this is kinda vague." Blitz moved the sign with his magic and there was a hole behind it. "Well Blaze, put your coin in."

"Alright." I poorly levitated the coin into the hole there was click and then the wall started to me upwards. There on top of a pedestal was a treasure chest over flowing with shiny gold coins. "Look at all that treasure bro."

"I know, come on lets take this home and show mom and dad." Blitz starts towards the chest but suddenly he starts shaking. In fact everything is shaking and I can hear a voice calling my name.

"Blaze wake up there's a letter for you." The voice says.

"Blaze wake up you got a letter from Mattias he said it's urgent."

"Huh..."

"Good you're up I thought I was gonna have to put your head in the water bucket again. Anyway you got a letter from Mattias." That's the unicorn that taught me magic, a powerful unicorn stallion by the name of Gaston. Sadly I wasn't much of a student and was called the worst unicorn he ever taught. I trained with him for 3 years and the only spells I learned were Levitation and Illumination, I was never a good at magic anyway.

"What does he want now?" I said sitting up in my bed. "it better not be another useless mission."

"Actually it's a mission he received from Celestia herself and decided you were better suited to complete it."

"Let me see this." I took the letter with magic and read it out loud. "Dear Blaze, I know you're probably just waking up but I wanted to pass this mission on to you. Celestia has found out that the neighboring areas of Equestria are ruled by a powerful dark unicorn who is attempting to take over Equestria and the world. Recent discoveries show that each area is controlled by one of his guardians that control powerful magic by using the Elemental Orbs. Your mission is to defeat the guardians and retrieve the orbs so we can craft a weapon strong enough to defeat this evil unicorn. From this point on you have graduated from your training and given the title of Adventurer."

"Congrats to you Blaze!" Gaston said as he slapped my back with a magic hand which is always way overpowered.

"Thanks. I guess I should start packing some things." I get out of bed and open various drawers taking things out and placing them in my saddle bag. I slip my saddle bag on and take on last look in the mirror to take in every last detail of myself before I obviously get hurt and obtain many scars. My fire red coat, groomed to my liking, my short orange mane and tail, and my cutie mark, a map, it symbolized my love for traveling and adventuring.

"Don't forget to take some of these with you." Gaston open my bag and places several potions inside each with their own label. "These potions will come in handy when your back is against the wall."

"Thanks Gaston, I'll put them to good use." I leave out Gaston's house and begin my travels to the first location, Midnight Forest." I take few steps from the home until I noticed something, I forgot my sword. I turn around, walk back, and knock on the door with my forehoof. Gaston opens the door and looks at me with disappointing eyes.

"You forgot your sword didn't you?" I nod my head and Gaston lets out a large sigh, he levitates my sword to me and straps it on my back. "If you forget something else I won't open the door for you."

On that note Gaston shuts the door and I turn and continue my way to the Midnight Forest. I wonder what the first guardian looks like anyway.

Notes from the author: I got lazy around the treasure part so Blazes past will be explained through out each chapter slowly in dreams. If this is similar to any other story I had no idea of it being posted then. This story was originally titled Adventurer Steve and was the story that got me writing in the first place, it was also not a pony story so it had to be changed so I can put it up here. Comments are encouraged. Next chapter will be Midnight Forest and Roda Mountains.
