A night of occurrences (revised)

Angels in Equestria

The chirping of crickets disrupted the silence of the night, a full moon in the sky shining its pale blue light, streaks of lights flying across the sky every few seconds. The lights of the Golden Oaks library were still aglow. Looking through her telescope on the balcony, Twilight watched intently at each streak of light, writing down notes on each that passed her field of vision. Princess Luna really enjoyed doing these meteor showers; she used to do these every year before she was banished.

Twilight getting word of this from Princess Celestia, she was absolutely ecstatic to say the least. This meteor shower is supposed to last three days, writing down as much as she can with not much time left for the meteor shower, with it being the third day.

Three days.

Three days she thought, removing her eye from the eyepiece and shifting her head towards the Everfree Forest. The black underside of the canopy reminding her of the meteorites that fell into the forest three days ago. Ponies close to the forest have seen these…creatures…nopony have truly seen them, but the orange eyes that stare out from the forest are enough to be scary. Everypony is too scared to enter the forest, and Twilight had to admit, even she was a bit anxious to the stories, even if it meant new knowledge. “What are they?” She asked herself quietly.

Lost in thought, she was brought back at the sensation of something on her left wing. Snapping out of her thoughts with a shake of the head, she turned her head and brought her wing close to he face, noticing a firefly slowly crawling over her primaries. Letting out a small puff of air, the firefly flew off her wing and slowly buzzed away into the moonlit sky, watching as it flew higher up, a series of meteorites streaking past.

Twilight looking again into the eyepiece, watching as the meteorites continued their descent, noticing something strange, they weren’t burning up and withering away. She continued to follow them through her telescope, the meteorites crashing into the Everfree with bright flashes a few seconds apart, a small tremor shaking the balcony a second later.

“Wow…” was all she could say in her trance of astonishment, a dumbfounded smile on her face. She this as an opportunity to study them, still anxious about going in, and she didn’t want to disturb the girls or Spike…looks like she’s going in herself.

“Here we go,” she said to herself, a hint of excitement and nervousness in her voice. “I finally get to study a meteorite up close.” Quickly running back inside to the study room and levitating quills, a book, and her saddlebag. Placing the saddle bag on her back and the materials inside it, she ran back to the balcony, managing to get as far as the door before doing a double-take and levitating a tightly capped jar of ink into the saddlebag.

Running towards the ledge of the balcony, she jumped over the railing and unfolded her wings, the cold air sending a shiver down her spine, gliding smoothly towards the Everfree with a quill and a scroll in tow. Her flying had become much better thanks to Rainbow Dash and a few more flying lessons….and a lot more crashes.

As she flew closer and closer to the Everfree, a sense of doubt and the want to go back came over her, disregarding the feeling and continuing, slowly flying into the gaping hole in the canopy, trees knocked down and burned and splinters of wood of various sizes littered the floor. Hovering a few inches above the ground, she slowly followed the shallow trench of hot soil that lead to a crater, landing close the edge of the crater, careful not to fall in. What she found surprised her.

Two…creatures, lying in the fetal position and facing away from each other,  her eyes wide as she looked in astonishment at the two, a small feeling of nervousness and fear creeping up on her. Unfolding her wings and slowly descended into the crater, walking closer towards them. “These are some strange looking creatures.” She said as she took out the quill and book and began writing the creature’s descriptions.

“Is…is that their skin?” Twilight whispered, afraid to talk any louder, as she looked them over. One of them having a hood covering the majority of its head, a white semi-curved face with no eyes to be found on it, what looked to be black muscle was exposed with some parts being covered by white plating, noticing a cursive A on its right shoulder pad. It had hands like a Minotaur, but they were smaller and covered in white gloves, it also looked like it had hooves, considering it has a white cylindrical coverings over its legs. Moving towards the back of the creature, close to its neck it had an oval-shaped dome piece, the black muscle becoming overlapped against itself around its spine, green dots running vertically up its spine.

The other also had its muscle exposed, but was a light grey with strange markings on it, its body thinner than the other creature, green plating across the majority of its chest, abdomen, and legs with a kind of mask and glass covering its head. Neither of them seemed to have a muzzle of sorts.

Twilight continued to write down every detail about the creatures, murmuring to herself in amazement. Looking intently at the hooded one’s face, or lack of a face, all sorts of questions ran through her mind. “Where are your eyes?” she whispered, leaning in closer towards the hooded creatures’ face.

Something caught her eye, a miniscule radiance of light blue streaked across its face, Twilight stepping back a few inches and noticed the hand of the creature slowly clenching into a fist. The aura around the levitating and quill disappeared, the book hitting the floor with a low thump.

A quiet whirring noise came from the creature, each ligament beginning to slowly move. Soon enough, the creature began to stand on its two hind legs, trying to maintain balance but couldn’t and fell onto the slanted crater wall, placing the other hand on its head and made a grunting noise. Light blue circles appeared on the creatures face, probably being its eyes, they were slanted and linear, looking as if it was in pain.

Twilight felt a sense of nervousness and excitement as she notices the creatures’ height, being the height of Princess Celestia if not taller. Her nervousness making her stutter, placing a hoof to her chest and extending it out and finally speaking, "Hello? Hello? Um... oh, gosh, first contact! Uh… I come in peace? No, no, that's the alien's line..." she said, facehoofing and taking a deep breath, “Let’s start all over, my name is Twilight Sparkle and- WHOA!” she exclaimed as one of the creatures legs swung by just centimeters from her face, causing her to step back a few feet.

The creature pressing its back against the wall, looking at Twilight and then at its companion and back to Twilight, its light blue eyes extremely big and panting loudly.

“It’s okay…I won’t hurt you- AAH!” she screamed as she felt a sharp pain on her right foreleg, causing that leg to buckle and having her kneel slightly,  looking down and noticing a line of red on her foreleg.

Looking at the creature, its right arm extended, a wide-angle V with strange markings formed a few inches above its wrist. It moved slowly towards its companion, quickly sprinting towards its companion, placing it over its shoulder and quickly climbing out of the crater. Managing to get to the top of the crater, quickly turning around and shot a gold projectile towards Twilight. Reacting quickly, she let forth a stream of magic from her horn, the two projectiles meeting in midair and colliding, a massive explosion engulfing the crater.

The smoke clearing a few seconds later, revealing Twilight inside a bubble of purple magic. The bubble dissolving , Twilight looked up towards the crater’s edge, there being no sign of the creature, staring at the crater’s edge for a few seconds before she snapped out of her trance.

“What just happened?”

~~~
“Ugh….wha-…” Dante said, still in a daze and unsure of what just happened, his eyes still closed and feeling extremely dizzy. “What happened….oh man, my head….” Trying to raise a hand to his head, feeling resistance to his movement as he did so, “Why can’t I move? Am I disconnected from my body again? No, no I’m not, I’m still here…ok, just the hands first.” Attempting to move his hands, the resistance lessened as he tried to clench his hand into a fist.
Moving other ligaments, eventually able to stand up but couldn’t keep balance for long, his dizziness making it difficult to stand on his two feet. Managing to find something vertically similar to a wall, he opened his eyes and seeing the crater floor, a sharp and piercing pain close to his right temple. Flinching at the pain and made a low grunting noise, blackness starting to engulf the sides of his vision.
The pain dulling down, a small clicking noise hit his ear, slowly moving his head towards the noise. He recoiled back towards the wall, the sight of a Taxxon sending a shiver down his spine. A series of clicks and chirps came from the creature, lifting its pincers to its head before it spoke again, moving slightly forward. Looking over, he noticed Vega lying on the floor of the crater, looking back and noticed the Taxxon getting closer. His heartbeat sped up as he tried coming up with a plan, the Taxxon getting closer and no armor to protect him.
In sheer terror, Dante extended his bare right arm, a wide angled V appeared an inch above his wrist, firing a gold V-shaped projectile towards one of the Taxxon’s legs, making contact and cutting one of its legs, the creature screeching in pain.
Feeling confused as to how he did that, he disregarded it and tried taking advantage of the moment, sprinting towards Vega’s limp body and carefully placed her on his shoulder and vaulted towards the wall. Jumping a full eight feet over the crater’s edge , looking back and seeing a beam of purple energy flying towards him, extending his right arms and firing another projectile, the two meeting in mid-air and a massive explosion occurring, fleeing the scene and into the forest as the smoke engulfed the crater.
“Gotta keep running, it might…be fo-following…why didn’t…it…eat itself…ugh!” he said, losing balance and consciousness, a major pain streaking across the side of his head. Looking up, a small opening in the canopy illuminated a large flat boulder. Slowly walking towards the lit area, placing the body on top of the flat rock and sat at the foot of it, panting heavily, “Just gotta…stay…a-wake…don’t close…your….eyes…” his head falling hard on the floor and his vision turning to black.
