Immortality is Magic
Chapter 2: 2: Rainbow Dash
Previous Chapter Next ChapterTwilight and I have been walking together for almost half-an-hour. She was by my side, but she was leading at the same time. I was looking one way or another, getting to know my surroundings without running to keep up with Twilight. Currently we’re walking through some hills. I see very little animals around here, probably due to the lack of trees. I looked over at one hill and saw a pink pony with a cotton candy mane standing along with a white pony with a purple mane, both staring into the sky.
“Hey Twilight,” I said, stopping and tapping her side, “are those your friends up there?”
“Yeah,” Twilight replied, “why don’t we go see what they’re up to?”
We climbed the considerably steep hill up to Rarity and Pinkie Pie. Once we were at the top, I noticed that they were watching a rainbow blur soaring through the sky, doing flips, twirls, and loops.
“Hey Rarity,” Twilight said, “hey Pinkie Pie. What are you looking at?”
“Rainbow Dash!” Pinkie Pie responded.
A second look had me realize that the blur was indeed the blue pegasus I met earlier.
“Why is she out there?” I asked Rarity.
“She told me that she’s gonna practice to…ugh, how to put this nicely? ‘Kick your butt at tomorrow’s race’,” she answered.
Twilight and I joined in on the small audience of Rainbow Dash’s performance, watching her do “stunts” in the air while flying at what appeared to be over eighty miles an hour.
“Isn't she the most daring devil?” Pinkie rambled on. “I mean, the most devilish darer? I mean-”
“She’s dazzling!” Rarity finished for her.
“Ooh yeah that's a good word. She's dazzling!”
Pinkie Pie’s head was following Rainbow Dash’s every move, including turning her head sideways. A moment later her head had went completely overturned, and continued to twist in the wrong direction until it was right-side-up again, and another quick complete twist finished it. She awed with Rarity and Twilight once before making a sick look on her face, and her body twisted to make her head fit correctly again.
How the hell didn’t her neck break?
A sudden group gasp made me look back into the sky, only to see that Rainbow Dash had started flying around like Robert Harold in 2071, who drove a jet drunk one time. He flew in every direction imaginable uncontrollably, and entered a nose dive that had him crash horribly, ending his alcoholic life far too early.
“Oh no, oh no, oh no!” Twilight panicked.
Pinkie Pie spoke her mind by saying “Ayiyiyiyi!”
Rainbow Dash had fallen into “The Harold Nose Dive” that she couldn’t escape from, and crashed directly into a distant shed.
“Oohh,” everyone said all at once.
“That’s gonna leave a mark,” I commented.
“So much for dazzling,” Pinkie Pie said.
“Is there a hospital around?” I asked Twilight.
“Yeah, I’ll help you take her there,” Twilight said, dashing down the hill.
I followed, and the sounds of hooves behind told me that Rarity and Pinkie Pie did too. It wasn’t a long run, considering how fast we all went. The shed looked abandoned with a closer look, and its doors were sealed.
“I’ll get her out,” I said.
I used my telekinesis to open the doors, but they didn’t budge. I had my telekinesis’ strength increase by several thousand percent, then I gave a second tug, tearing the doors down violently with ease.
“Stay here,” I told the group. “I don’t want anyone to get hit by a falling plank of wood and I have to drag them out too.”
I walked inside the shed, it wasn’t very large. It seemed to be the size of a small bedroom, only there were no beds, debris was lying everywhere, and there was a giant hole in the ceiling. I walked around the shed, looking at the ground for a hint of blue, moving chunks of wood out of the way as I did.
There was a sudden moan from the corner. I darted over to it to see a rainbow-colored tail sticking out of a large pile of wood. I picked up every last molecule of wood with my telekinesis and moved it aside. Rainbow Dash was lying on her side on top of her right wing. Her mane was messed up; she was covered in dust; and her eyes were shut tightly. The first thing I did was check for breathing, which had positive results. I rolled Dash onto her stomach so I could look at her wing, which caused her to yell in pain.
“I know it hurts,” I said gently, “but I need to look at it.”
I conjured Non-Radioactive X-Ray Vision Glasses (invented in 2802) under my hood to take a look at Dash’s wing. It was similar to most bones of a winged animal, but it only had two bones to cling to all of the other bones that hold the feathers. The bone closer to her spine was split in two, but luckily no other bones were broken. The sight of the broken bones looked a strangely amusing, and forced a smirk onto my face. I ignored it, used my telekinesis to put Dash on my back, being careful not to move her wing, and walked outside.
“What’s wrong with her?!” Twilight asked immediately after catching sight of me.
I looked downward to quickly hide the smirk caused by the pegasus’ pain.
“She’s got a broken wing,” I answered. The two unicorns and the pink pony gasped. “It looks pretty serious. Where’s the nearest hospital?”
“It’s about a half of a mile northeast from my house,” Pinkie Pie said.
I want to be in front of the hospital that Pinkie Pie had just referred to.
Spiral flames of my favorite color, traveling upward, seemed to burn everything around me away, revealing an entrance to a hospital. I walked in front of the wooden oak doors, used my telekinesis to open them, and went inside. I was greeted by a white nurse with a slightly pink mane in a bun, who said “Welcome to Ponyville Hospital, I’m Nurse Redheart. Are you checking in, checking out, or visiting?” I turned to show her Rainbow Dash, again attempting to hide my “amusement”.
“She’s got a broken wing,” I said. “She crashed after practicing flying, now she needs help, fast. I’ll pay all of the bills necessary myself.”
“She appears to be unconscious,” Redheart said, placing a hoof on Dash’s neck. “I’ll take her from here.”
I had my telekinesis put the injured pegasus onto the nurse’s back, who walked quickly, but so carefully still that I was impressed, down a nearby hallway.
I looked to my right and found a waiting room full of backless, cushioned benches. I went and sat down on one. It was a bit difficult at first, mainly because I tried sitting like a human with my new bone structure. But after remembering how Twilight sits, I was able to find myself sitting quite comfortably.
“It’s all my fault,” I said to myself, my smirk finally fading. “If I never told Dash that I was better than her, she wouldn’t have started practicing, the crash would never have happened, and she wouldn’t be handicapped right now.” What caused her to act like a Harold? A sudden change in wind direction? Did she hit something? Maybe I can investigate what had her crash in the first place…
“Christina!”
I raised my head to the direction of the voice, and standing at the doorway were Twilight, Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Applejack, who all walked over to me. They all looked worried as hell.
“Is she gonna be alright?” Pinkie Pie questioned.
“Is she okay?” Fluttershy said.
“We got here as fast as we could,” Applejack explained.
“Any word from the doctor?” Twilight asked.
“Listen,” I said, “I came in here, gave Rainbow Dash to a nurse, and she ran off into the hall. I haven’t heard anything from anyone since.”
“Is it true she’s got a broken wing?” Fluttershy asked.
“Yeah, the whole bone was split in two,” I said.
Fluttershy fainted, falling onto the floor with a thud.
“Luckily they were still in place,” I added, looking over at her unconscious body.
“How did you know the bone was split in two if you don’t have one of those x-ray machines?” Applejack questioned. “I’m sure that there wasn’t one lying around somewhere.”
“That’s for me to know, and you to never find out,” I said. “Not yet,” I added after seeing Twilight’s heartbroken face.
The group continued to question me about things they already asked (when Fluttershy woke up, she asked the same question, got the same answer, but didn’t faint the second time) when the nurse I gave Rainbow Dash to walked in.
“She’s waking up,” Nurse Redheart said. We all followed the nurse to room number twelve, where she stopped us from going in.
“Please, don’t shout,” she said. “She might want to sleep some more.” Redheart opened the door for us, and all of us went inside.
There were two beds, a curtain separating them. The one on the right had a heavily casted pony whose color I couldn’t even tell (what the hell happened?!) while the one on the left contained Rainbow Dash. A golden unicorn with a brown mane (an actually normal color for once) wearing glasses and a doctor’s jacket was standing beside in the room. He seemed deeply focused on an x-ray of Rainbow’s wing, so nobody disturbed him as we walked through. A heartbeat monitor could be heard throughout the room, beeping at a normal rate.
“Is she gonna be okay?” Applejack asked to nobody in particular.
I noticed that Dash’s eyelids were opening.
“Oh, I’m so worried!” Fluttershy said.
Rainbow Dash’s eyes were fully opened now. It was very noticeable that her eyes were in separate directions.
“Is her face gonna stay that way?” Pinkie Pie said.
Rainbow Dash shook her head, having her eyes going back to normal and becoming aware of her surroundings. The first thing she did was look behind her, and noticed that her wing was in a cast.
“Awwww,” she whined.
I heard Twilight say behind me “How is she doctor?”
“She’s going to be fine,” he responded. “Luckily she’s got friends like you who got her here in a jiffy.”
“Huh,” Rainbow Dash said, getting everyone’s attention, “how long do I need to lie here? I’ve got things I need to do!”
She can’t be thinking about that race with me after an accident like that, she must be insane!
“Well, that all depends on your recovery,” the doctor answered, “but I’d say a few days minimum.”
Rainbow Dash’s expression seemed to be panic-stricken at the end of his sentence.
“You guys got to get me out of here!” She said. “I’m gonna climb the walls!”
“Ooh, just like a spider!” Pinkie Pie said happily. She turned to the doctor. “Did the crash somehow give her super-duper spider powers?”
I don’t think she was bitten by a radioactive spider in the shed.
“No, nor did it give her amazing healing powers. She needs to stay in bed for a few days.” The doctor walked out of the room, and we all turned back to Rainbow Dash.
“Few days?” Dash said. “Might as well be a few months, or few years!”
“Well if you’re going to be here for a few years, I hope that you have someone to take care of your house for you,” I remarked.
“It’s not so bad Rainbow Dash,” Fluttershy consoled.
“I bet the chow in here is hoof-licking good,” Applejack joined in.
“And the hospital gowns, they…match the curtains!” Rarity said, trying to cheer her up.
“And look! You have a roommate!” Pinkie Pie pulled the curtains back so Rainbow Dash was able to see the heavily-casted pony.
She pulled the covers up and rolled onto her side, facing the opposite direction. I heard wheels squeaking from the hallway. I turned around to see a different nurse pushing a cart full of books. Twilight noticed it too, and ran over to it. She came back levitating a green hardcover book that looked like it was over a hundred pages long, had it poke Rainbow Dash with the corner, and placed it on the bed. Dash sat up, grabbed the book (somehow, without dropping it due to the lack of hands and fingers) then she said “What’s this? ‘Daring Do and the Quest for the Sapphire Stone’.”
“It’s the first book in the series. I own all of them,” Twilight explained, smiling.
“No thanks,” Rainbow Dash said, throwing the book away. “I so don’t read. I'm a world-class athlete. Reading's for eggheads like you, Twilight. Heh, no offense,” she added due to Twilight’s insulted face, “but I am not reading. It's undeniably, unquestionably, un-cool.”
Everyone giggled at her response; I merely shook my head.
“Is she serious?” Applejack said. “Who doesn’t like to read a bang-up tale from time to time?”
“Why, a good book is almost as magnificent as silk pajamas on a Sunday morning, heh!” Rarity said, appearing to be day-dreaming.
“Reading is for everypony, Rainbow Dash!” Twilight added, placing the book back onto the bed.
“Yeah!” Pinkie said, hopping up and down. “I love reading, and my head isn't even close to the shape of an egg! It's more the shape of an apple, or maybe an orange, but a big orange! More like a grapefruit really...”
She put a hoof to her chin in thought and what fruit closest resembles her head, while we all stared.
“Picking up a book won’t kill you, Rainbow Dash,” I said. “I have re-read entire book series just because I loved reading them so much.”
“Alright, my little ponies,” a voice in the doorway called. I turned and saw the nurse that was pushing the book cart just a minute ago. “Rainbow Dash needs her rest. You’ll have to come back tomorrow.”
Everyone walked out of the room, Twilight and I were last. I told Dash goodbye and waited in the hallway for Twilight, who was still by the bed.
“I think you'd like Daring,” she said. “She's a lot like you.” Twilight walked to the doorway and stopped to continue speaking. “Adventurous, fierce, and undeniably, unquestionably, unstoppable.”
Rainbow Dash pointed towards the exit from annoyance before the door closed.
“If Daring Do is actually unstoppable,” I told Twilight, “I think she’d relate more to me. I mean, I can be as strong as I want, do almost anything possible, and nothing can stop me. Of course I wouldn’t, because ruling the world would get boring.”
“I meant her spirit is unstoppable,” Twilight said, surprisingly not shocked that I just said that I can take over the planet if I wanted to. “I grabbed the first book for two reasons. The first one is because she should start from the beginning of the series if she ever gets interested in it, and the second reason is because Daring’s wing is broken too.”
“Oh, that makes plenty of sense. But it’s a shame she’ll never bother reading it to find out how much they can relate.”
The next day; Twilight, Fluttershy and I were heading over to the hospital to pay Rainbow Dash a visit. I was holding her favorite board game called “Cloud Battles” (which sounded a lot like Battleship when Twilight explained it to me) on my back as we walked.
“I’m glad we’re bringing her favorite board game,” I said, opening the front hospital doors for Fluttershy and Twilight. “Rainbow Dash must be bored to death.”
“Yeah, the poor thing,” Fluttershy responded, her and Twilight walking in. “I wish there were other things she could do.”
“Well Cloud Battles usually keeps Rainbow Dash occupied for an hour or two,” Twilight said, matter-of-factly.
When we reached room number twelve, I knocked on the door first before opening it two seconds later.
“Hi Rainbow Dash!” we said all together.
“Uh, hey guys…” She responded, having an odd expression.
“We thought we’d come and cheer you up!” Fluttershy said, standing next to the bed.
“We brought your favorite board game!” Twilight added, having the game levitate off my back, show itself to Rainbow Dash, and set itself up at the foot of the bed.
“We know how much you like to win!”
I stood quietly by Dash’s side. I usually prefer to be sitting quietly out of the way to watch everything that happens. I've been doing it for over three thousand years, after all.
“You go first Rainbow Dash!” Twilight said.
Dash gave a very short, nervous laugh and said “No no, you go first.”
Twilight and Fluttershy exchanged looks before looking and me. I shrugged, since I don’t know if this is unusual, normal, or the first time in existence that it happened.
“Alright,” Twilight started, “uh…cloud three.”
“Aw shucks,” Rainbow Dash said, “you…rained on my cumulus, heh. Go again!” What, she doesn’t want a turn now?
“Um…sky five?” Fluttershy asked.
“Whoa, you found my seagull!” Rainbow Dash pulled off a seagull piece and tossed it aside.
I swear I heard it give off a small cry.
Twilight stared for a second, assumed she got another turn and said “Uh…cloud two?”
“You zapped my weather-pony!” Rainbow Dash continued to skip her turn, and every time Fluttershy or Twilight said a location, they somehow managed to get a direct hit. After a couple of minutes, Rainbow Dash said “Aw, that’s my last cloud. You found it. Guess you guys win, I lose.” She made a small horse noise instead of sighing.
Okay, this place is going to drive me insane.
“But Rainbow Dash, you…you didn’t even get a turn,” Fluttershy said, obviously confused.
“You win some, you lose some,” Dash responded.
“But you don’t lose some,” Twilight said, bewildered just as much as Fluttershy. “In fact I don’t think you ever lost a game of-” Rainbow Dash interrupted Twilight’s sentence by yawning loudly. “Thanks for coming!” She said.
“But yesterday you were desperate for things to do!” Twilight said.
“Do? Who said anything about Daring Do? I told you I’m not interested in reading.” Rainbow Dash gave another yawn. “It’s nap time for me!” She clicked the lamp off, making the room a lot darker, laid down and started to mock snoring.
“Glad we could…cheer you up?” Fluttershy commented, leaving.
Twilight stayed and looked at Rainbow Dash closely, who opened one eye and her snoring slowed down until it stopped. She gave another loud yawn, indicating that she needed to get some sleep, where Twilight said “Alright then” and left. I stayed and stood next to Rainbow Dash, placing my front legs on the bed, crossing them like I would with my arms, and had most of my weight lean on the bed.
“Dash,” I began, “I’m sorry about your wing. If I never said I was faster than you, you would never have wanted to prove me wrong, went to practice and broke your wing. I don’t know anything about fixing bones or treating any kind of major injury, but if I could, I would help you in any way I can.”
“I-it’s fine,” Dash said. “I’d better get some-”
“I’ll do anything for you,” I continued. “I hurt you, now I would like to pay you back. If there is anything you ever want, just come and talk to me.”
“Can you make me a Wonderbolt?!” She said hopefully.
“I’m afraid that’s one of the things I cannot do,” I replied, hanging my head.
Rainbow Dash sighed, sitting up.
“It’s not your fault, Christina,” she said as I straightened my head back up. “It’s my own fault that I lost control and crashed. I was too stupid trying to impress you guys, and not paying attention to what I was doing.”
“Either way, if it’s my fault or not, just let me know. I’ll do anything you want. I don’t care what it is; I’ll do it for you.”
Rainbow Dash suddenly pulled me forward into a large embrace.
“You’re a great friend,” she said. “Nopony in Equestria would be saying any of what you just said to me.”
“Well, I’m technically not from Equestria,” I said, “So that might be why.” Dash laughed.
“Where are you from anyway?” She asked, having me face her.
Her cerise eyes were large and shining with lust for knowledge.
“I’m from a place called Earth,” I said. “Civilization is similar to Equestria’s, but the main difference is the technology advantage, along with the world dominance.”
“What do you mean ‘world dominance’?”
“I mean Earth is ruled by two-legged creatures called humans,” I said. “Humans are the most intelligent creatures alive, that’s why the planet is ruled by them.”
“Humans took over your world?!” Rainbow Dash said, shocked.
“No no, it’s like how ponies are here. Humans were there from the start in the first place,” I explained. “Have you ever heard of evolution?” She shook her head.
“You see, evolution is when a species adapts to their environment over thousands of years, giving them parts and abilities they need while getting rid of the ones they don’t. Anyway, that’s what happened with humans. Earth used to only just be nothing but plants, water, fish, and animals millions of years ago. At the time, humans didn’t exist. Not yet. Humans had evolved from apes over millions of years, having them become more intelligent as time went on. Eventually, humans became the most intelligent beings on Earth. And so to this day, humans continue to rule the world, and will continue to rule until they all die off in a thousand and forty-six years from now.” Rainbow Dash continued to stare where my eyes should be.
“How do you know that the humans are going to die?” she asked.
“Because I was there,” I answered. “I witnessed the end of the human race. They had killed each other through war, and destroyed all of life along with it. Plants, animals, even other humans who have nothing to do with the war; they all were eliminated.”
“Wait…how were you there if it happens over a thousand years from now?” Dash wondered.
“Simple: I traveled back in time after getting bored with having nothing to do, watch, or talk to, and so I watched civilization grow from a different location.” Rainbow Dash kept staring at me, perplexed.
“How did the humans treat you?” She said. “They obviously must have treated ponies differently if they ruled the world.”
“They treated me like any other human,” I said, “because there were no ponies. I was a human too.”
“You were a human? But how?”
“I still am a human,” I explained. “I just make myself look like a pony so I don’t freak everybody out.”
“H-how can you look like a pony if you’re a human?” She said, a little nervous. “Are humans able to change what they look like?”
“No, they aren’t,” I said. “Only I am. You see, I have been chosen to have the most incredible abilities you could possibly imagine. Nobody in the entire world…well, nobody on Earth, knew that I had powers, and only three, maybe four ponies in Equestria know.”
“Who are they?” Rainbow asked.
“Twilight, Luna, possibly Luna’s sister, and now you, are the only ones who know.” Rainbow Dash continued to gaze upon my hood.
“Is there a reason for why you wear that hood?” She asked.
“Yes, there is,” I answered. “If I cover my eyes to the point where no one is able to see them, I look normal. But if I don’t have my eyes cover anything…well, I’ll show you.”
I had my telekinesis pull my hood down. Rainbow gasped at the sight.
“This is my true form,” I said. “Well, not really. I’m a pony, and my true form is when I’m not a pony. But you get the point, right?” Rainbow Dash nodded silently.
“Oh, I just remembered something.”
I want my voice to return to normal.
“This is how I actually sound,” I said in my usual voice.
My first words made Rainbow jump.
“Yeah, surprising isn’t it?” I said. “I mean, thinking you’re getting to know someone, but really there was a major detail they left out that can change your perspective on them forever.”
“So…you’re a colt?” she asked.
“A male, yes,” I said, “but I turned into a female pony because Twilight was a female. I collected her DNA in order to change my form into a pony, but I couldn’t change into a boy or change my voice because she didn’t have any male DNA. That’s why I sounded like Twilight, because I had her voice.”
“So you can change into a girl whenever you want?”
“As long as I have a DNA sample of one, yes I can.”
“You can take some of mine!” Rainbow Dash offered. “We can go flying together! That would be so cool! What do I need to do?”
“Are you sure?” I said. “I mean, that means you’re giving me permission to look and sound like you.”
“What do I need to do?” She repeated. I assume she doesn’t care.
“I need either saliva or blood from you.”
Dash stuck out her tongue instead of answering. I rubbed my hoof against her tongue, and pulled back once it was wet enough. I absorbed Rainbow Dash’s saliva without checking the amount of DNA first into my hoof.
“What do you do now?” she asked, pulling her tongue back in.
“I just think what I want to look like and it’ll happen,” I answered. “I can’t really explain how, it just happens.”
“Can you show me how cool it is to change into me?” Dash asked. “It would be so awesome if you can turn into me!”
“I can’t just change and go prancing around whenever I want, Rainbow Dash. Everyone knows me as Christina. I’m staying this way unless I feel like changing into someone else, and even at that they’ll remember me as that form." Rainbow Dash crossed her legs like I did with mine.
“I hope you feel better soon,” I said. “And please don’t tell anyone anything I told you.”
I pulled my hood back on, changed my voice back to Twilight’s, stood up and turned to leave, walked to the door, when I stopped.
“Also, I’d read that book if I were you. I’m sure you’ll like it,” I said, closing the door behind me.
“Checkmate,” Twilight said.
It’s been over twenty four hours since I visited Rainbow Dash. At the current moment I’m sitting in Twilight’s room, suffering my humiliating defeat.
“We’ve been playing this all day, and yet I haven’t been able to take your king,” I said.
“That’s because I read a book on every little trick in chess there is,” Twilight said. I looked at the clock on the wall, which read nine forty-seven.
“I think I might head off to bed,” I said with a yawn.
“I’ll go ahead and go to bed too,” Twilight agreed, having her magic put the board game and all of the pieces back in the box and zoomed off somewhere.
We walked over to the bed and covered up. I pulled my hood off and rolled to face Twilight.
She was staring blankly into my eyes.
“Where are you from?” She asked.
I placed my hoof gently on Twilight’s forehead.
“I’ll tell you everything tomorrow," I said as I closed my eyes.
It felt like only a few minutes passed when I woke up to the sound of barking and hoof steps. Twilight and I got out of bed and went down the stairs sleepily to see all the commotion. When Twilight opened the door, it looked like a ninja had skidded to a halt in front of the doorway. I shook my head and took another gaze. It was Rainbow Dash wearing a black, skin-tight stealth suit. Surrounding Dash were the doctor from the other day, a few nurses, a security guard, and a patient still in their hospital gown.
“Rainbow Dash, what in the world is going on?” the doctor said. “Why are you stealing slippers?”
What? Why the hell would Rainbow Dash be stealing slippers from a hospital? The patient made dog bark sounds, where a security guard said “Hey, get back to the hospital!” and chased her behind a building out of sight.
“What’s all the ruckus?” It appears that Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy were also woken up, and followed the noises to the doorstep.
“Oh, I’d say it’s more of a fracas than a ruckus,” Pinkie Pie said.
Twilight looked at the ninja with a rainbow tail and said “What’s going on Rainbow Dash?” Rainbow Dash looked nervously from one pony to the other. She gave a large sigh.
“I’m an egghead,” she said.
“Pardon?” Rarity said.
“See, I was trying to get back into the hospital to finish the last chapter of-”
“-'Daring Do and the Quest for the Sapphire Statue'!” Twilight finished.
“I thought it was ‘Sapphire Stone’,” I commented.
“You got me,” Dash said.
“Wow,” Twilight said, astonished, “I knew the book was good, but I didn't know it could drive a pony to petty theft!”
“Good?” Dash remarked. “Try awesomely amazing. That book is undeniably, unquestionably, un-put-down-able! But then I had to put it down; I was sent home before I could finish it.”
The doctor and nurses exchanged short looks and left, since the situation isn’t important.
“Well, I'm glad that's all this is about,” Twilight said.
Applejack took a step forward and said “There's no reason to go around causing a ruckus-”
“Fracas!” Pinkie corrected. Applejack rolled her eyes. “…causing a fracas just because you like to read.”
“Well, if all of this about reading, why don’t we all go back to bed?” I told the group. They all nodded, said their goodbyes, and left.
“Come on in, Rainbow Dash,” Twilight invited. “I’ll get you your book.”
The three of us went inside of the library.
“Goodnight,” I said to nobody in specific. I walked up the stairs, hopped into bed, followed by covering myself up. I’m extremely tired right now.
“Like I said, I have every book in the series, and you can borrow them all, any time you like!” I could hear them talking loudly from downstairs.
“Oh, thanks Twilight,” Dash’s voice said. “I'm sorry I made such a big deal about all of this. I thought reading was just for smart ponies like you.”
“Rainbow Dash, just because you're athletic doesn't mean you aren't smart!”
“Yeah! Just look at me!” I heard from Spike downstairs.
There was a long silence, when it was broken by Twilight.
“Reading is something everypony can enjoy, if they just give it a try,” she said.
“Yeah, I get it,” Dash’s voice responded. “I shouldn't knock something until I've tried it.”
“That's a great lesson, and it would make a great letter to the Princess.”
“Did you get all that?” Dash said excitedly.
Spike responded by saying “Yeah?”
“Great! You write the letter, I've got to finish this book!” I heard the door open and shut very quickly, followed by silence.
Finally, I can sleep.
“Christian!” Twilight called.
“What?” I yelled back.
“Goodnight!”
“Night,” I replied.
I want to fall asleep right now and not wake up under any circumstances until tomorrow.
