"Sister, do you know how ridiculous that sounds?" Commander Luna asked as she stood in the large circular C-I-C room.

"I realize it sounds odd but I think that it's something to consider. Turn one of our hangers into farm, I think it's brilliant. This ship is an exploration vessel, Raptors can be launched from one hanger easily, so there's really no need for the other." Admiral Celestia said as she walked nearby her sister.

"We have a farm aboard this ship, it's not necessary, really, besides we're simply to explore nearby planets. We'll be in range of supply ships and the liking. Heck, we can make radio contact with Caprica right now. Just there's a two hour delay due to the distance." Luna said. She looked towards the communication station were Twilight Sparkle sat on her rump and tapped away at the controls. "Any news? When is the first supply ship to arrive?"

"I'm not sure, Commander. Some sort of interference is blocking communication. Either that or the other Battlestars have entered a silence. Usually we get a bit of static chatter from the others." Twilight Sparkle said. "I'm working on it, but I'd like to take our system network offline for a short time, do some basic diagnostics on our communications."

Luna hummed lightly as she nodded. "Fine, do what you must, Sparkle. I just don't want my pilots freaking out when a ship jumps in. The last thing we need is our first supply ship exploding, eh?" She joked.

Luna walked at the lowest level of the C-I-C, walking calmly around the Battlestar Luna's DRADIS console. The Luna was the only Battlestar to have a DRADIS console not mounted from the roof of the C-I-C. She would seldom stay in one spot, always walking around the C-I-C getting status updates and randomly reviewing data. This was the Battlestar Luna's maiden voyage, having been fully put into service just weeks before, it was a very nervous first journey. The first two years were planned to be boring for the little vessel, traveling just within three or four jumps of Caprica. If those baby-journeys were successful and no problems occurred the Luna would be able to venture out further and further. Until it was at the point of needing to be fully self sustainable.

Admiral Celestia, Luna's sister, was along for this first journey as a supervisor. She was to make sure her sister was ready for her first tour as the full commanding officer of a vessel and that the crew had been picked correctly. The admiral had proved to be very objective, even with the possible bias of family or friendships. Thus far, she was quite pleased to see her sister doing well and had assumed that this would be a boring couple of weeks of reading, snacking, and chatting with her sister.

At the moment, Celestia stood at the DRADIS. An apple floating in her golden magical aura, she would move it closer to her mouth when not in conversation and take a bite out of it. When in conversation it stayed close by but away from her lips.

"Ma'am?" Twilight called to Luna.

"Yes, Sparkle? Go ahead." Luna asked coming closer to the lavender pony's station.

"I'm getting some kind of strange report. Well...actually many strange reports. I think there's been some kind of training accident or something. I've gotten two SOS's and a few distress calls. They're all claiming to have been fired on by multiple unidentified ships." Sparkle stated as she studied the many SOS's and text-based distress calls. "These are two hours old but I'll keep my ear to the channels. I have a feel-"

The DRADIS alarm went off as four "???" red dots appeared. They were about the size of the Battlestar Luna.

"What the frack?" Luna asked puzzled. "Three supply ships?"

Twilight Sparkle's eyes widened. "Ma'am this isn't some accident, I've gotten word of nukes on the colonies. It's an invasion!"

"Red alert!" Luna ordered she levitated a PA microphone to her lips "All crew to battle stations! Scramble Vipers." She ordered as she put down the microphone.

Viper Mark VII's scrambled from the side-hangers and launching tubes off the sides of the Battlestar. Turrets mounted on the hull swiveled into position as they came on.

"What's going on out there?" Admiral Celestia asked. "Put the Viper squads on speaker."

"Yes, ma'am." an officer said tapping a hoof at her console.

Static-distortion played with the quality of the voices like a kitten with a ball of yarn, but the sentences were still comprehensible.

"Rainbow, here. Luna, we've got four....uhhhh...what the frack are those?" Rainbow Dash the CAG said over the radio.

"Describe them, R-D." Luna said into the microphone PA. "What are we dealing with?"

"They're like.....tacks, ma'am.....wait something.....a lot of something is coming out of them." Rainbow Dash said. Going quiet for a few seconds. Vipers began to disappear off the DRADIS. "Frack! Hostile fighters!" Gun fire from Rainbow Dash's Viper could be heard.

"Return fire!" Luna ordered quickly.

A new alert noise came up on the DRADIS. Many smaller "???" Red dots had appeared among the Vipers. Even smaller ones were now detected coming from the larger "Tack" ships. Except these didn't come up as "???" they came up as "Missile" dots.

"We have missile launch!" Somepony reported.

"Fire flack cannons once their close enough!" Luna ordered. "Do NOT hit our Vipers."

"Who the frack is firing at us?" Admiral Celestia asked herself.
