The rhythm of beeps echoed throughout the little white room. Other machine noises also filled the empty silence. A cool breeze wafted from the open window. Upon a single white bed, underneath the cold, fresh blankets, was a light blue pegasus stallion. Allsorted wires clung onto the stallion's body. A clear mask was delicately placed upon his snout. Bandages were wrapped around his wings and chest.

Slowly, the stallion sat up. He groaned slightly in pain. Once he was comfortable, he stared out of the window. Watching the birds swirl around in the sunlight. He smiled to himself at the peaceful view. But his attention was drawn elsewhere.

A knock on the door surprised him. But, shakily, he removed his oxygen mask.

"Come...in." He croaked.

The creaked open. He was expecting another nurse. To stab him with another needle or pester him with other crap. However, his bright green eyes opened wide in joy as a different mare stood in the doorway.

"R-Rainbow..."

The mare smiled with half lidded eyes. She trotted closer to the bed. Her eyes beginning to fill with tears. She shakily smiled as she stroked the Wonderbolt's scruffy blue mane. As soon as she saw the young stallion, gently smile at her, she felt a surge of joy and love power through her. She seemed to be radiating her colours again. Her coat and mane now bright as usual, maybe brighter. And the smoldering ashes of the fire behind her eyes sparked once more.

"Oh Soarin." She whispered. Tears running down her cheeks. Soarin looked up at the crying mare and smiled to her.

"I-I wanted to see y-you....for real." He gasped. His chest ached. His lungs burnt. But he could care less about the pain. He was with the pony he loved. And if he were to die now, he would die happy. Staring into her rose eyes.

"Soarin....I-I....I don't want you to die. I want you to live. With me." Rainbow cried, looking down. Soarin slowly lifted his hoof up to the mare's face. And wiped a few of her tears. He then turned her head towards him. Rainbow just stared. Staring into his luscious green eyes.

"Don't c-cry.. D-Dashie...I-I want you to be happy...." He smiled despite the shrieking hot pain. Exploding through his veins.

The cyan pegasus couldn't stop her tears. She was happy. Yet, upset. She was so delighted that Soarin was awake, but she didn't know if he'll survive.

She leant down, towards the stallion, connecting her lips with his. Soarin moaned in pleasure as their tongues wrestled inside their mouths. Soarin slowly moved his hoof onto Rainbow's face. The cyan mare wrapped her hooves around the injured stallion. Their mouths parted as the two ponies needed to breathe.

"I-I am happy....I'm with you. And that makes me happy." Rainbow Dash whispered as she hugged the pony she loved. Soarin was the only thing on her mind. His cheerful nature. His caring personality. His streak of confidence and determination. His goofiness. His handsome looks. And his lush green eyes.

"And you make my heart flutter, Dash."

The two lovers stared into each other's eyes. Getting lost in the sea of either blazing rose or calming green. Cold tears streamed down both of their blue cheeks.

"S-Soarin....remember.....remember the dream. Last night." Rainbow croaked.

"The one we shared together. Of course." Soarin smiled weakly at his lover. But Rainbow bit her lip. Her mind scrabbled with words and other stuff. She tried to say something, but none of it made sense.

"...I...I...I..." More tears escaped from her eyes. She squeezed them shut. Soarin stared in confusion. He wanted to comfort her, but he didn't know what was bothering her. And he was also restricted any movements. He could lift himself up. He couldn't get up and hug the crying cyan mare.

"Rainbow. Whatever is wrong. Just tell me." He reassured. Hoping that she'll stop her tears. But she shook her head.

"I can't....I can't, Soarin. I want to. But I can't. I promised to you Soarin. I crossed my heart. I swore on the whole of Equestria not to, but it's the only way out. The only way I can see right now."

Soarin's emerald eyes shot open. He knew exactly what she was talking about. His mind exploded with fear and dread. He began to be overwhelmed with panic.
"No. Nononono. You are not committing suicide! No matter what!"

"I can't though. I want to but I can't. If you die, I want to be loyal to you. But I won't be being loyal to everypony else. I just....I just don't know what to do." The mare fell to the floor. Crying next to the bed. Holding onto Soarin's hoof. "I'm just so...so tired. I hurt all over. Pain is all I can feel. I try to be the pony I was ages ago. But I can't. I just can't."

The powder blue stallion stared at the mare in absolute shock and disbelief. He wanted, so desperately, to jump out of the bed and hug the distraught assassin. He couldn't believe that her emotions were everywhere. And it was because of him. He was causing her this pain. He was making her cry. It felt like a cold dagger stabbed in him right in the chest as he realised this. If only he wasn't so careless and obnoxious to his surroundings, he would have noticed the blade. If he moved aside, he could be with Rainbow. Actually spending time with her. Instead oc being restricted to a stupid bed. Too weak to move on his own.
"R-Rainbow....please. I'll make it out of this. I will. I just don't want to see you cry."

The sobbing pegasus looked up at the bed ridden stallion. Tears still streaming down her face. Her eyes tinged with a red glow.
"I l-love you, Soarin. I know we've only been together for a couple of weeks, but we've been friends for longer." The mare stood up and smiled through her tears. "I remember in the academy, even though you weren't my trainer, you still helped me. You showed me around. You helped me put effort into my performances. You were always so kind to me. But I never gave anything in return. I never thanked you. I never helped you. But you were still there. Every bloody day. Waiting by the lunch hall, willing and ready to go fourth with the day."

"And that's because I loved you. The f-first....the first moment I set eyes on you, you took my h-heart. At the Young Fliers Competition, I wanted you to win. So I-I could spend all day with you. But you looked do nervous and unsteady. And kept crashing. I hated it when those stallions laughed at you. You didn't d-deserve it. But when your friend fell, and after our pathetic attempt to catch her, you...you my beautiful gem, performed a s-sonic rainboom. I was awake to see the rainbow trail. I was so proud of you. But, we couldn't spend time together. Me and the others had to go. To go and get treated. I cried all night. You were on my mind all day, every day. And when I saw you at the G-Gala, I was so happy. However, I was dragged away to talk to some rich snob, or get my photo t-taken. I saw you trying to get out attention, I wanted to come over so badly. And then you and your friends trashed the place."
The two ponies laughed together at the distant memory. Soarin gazed at the now smiling mare. Tears were still running down her damp cyan cheeks, but she beamed a beautiful smile. And her glimmering rose eyes sparkled like the stars in the sky.
"I liked that. It was more in-interesting."

"Of course it was. It was funny as anything." She giggled. Which was very unusual for Rainbow. She never giggled. She either laughed or snickered, but never giggled. And Soarin was happy with that. He did something that Rainbow never did in front of others. Only in front of him. And that made his heart fill with warm glow. A warm glow from joy.

"Y-yes. Even though I didn't g-get to see you, you lot made it a memorable night." He too, smiled. The two young lovers kissed again once more. They didn't care where they were, they were happy that they were together. As they parted, a particular tune began to play in the stallion's mind. And couldn't help to hum it.
"I-I don't know where I heard this. B-but...it reminds me of y-you."

The tune was the very song Rainbow sang earlier. The song she sang to him. Mesmerised by the stallion's memory of the song, Rainbow joined. Quietly, the two ponies sang their little song. Even Soarin knew the words. Which confused Rainbow Dash. But she pushed it aside at the two enjoyed their time together.

"The first time we ever met,
Your name was all I knew.
But as we got to know each other,
Daydreaming was all I could ever do.

Thinking about us taking long walks,
Holding hooves as we would talk.
All these things I would miss,
When all I wanted was a simple kiss.

Thinking about you holding me tight,
Wondering and hoping you just might.
Those cute eyes staring down at me,
That it was meant to be."

They sang in perfect harmony. They embraced each other in a simple hug. Crying into each other's chests. But as they cried, a pony entered the room. Followed by four others. Three of the ponies smiled gently as their leader was finally happy. However, the two other stallions held no expression.

The dark blue stallion cleared his throat and knocked on the door. Grabbing the attention of the two lovers instantly.

"Yes. What is it?" Rainbow asked.

"Miss Rainbow Miriam Dashery. You are under arrest and to be taken to Canterlot immediately." He huffed. The cyan pegasus gasped in shock and surprise.

"Whatever for?!"

"That shall be discussed when we arrive at Canterlot. Now you shall come fourth quietly and without resistance."

"And if I shall not?"

"Then you're sentence shall be greater than before."

Rainbow glanced at the three other ponies. Who shook their heads in reply. They had no idea either. The cyan assassin turned towards the bed ridden stallion.
"I'll be back soon, Soarin. I will not leave you. I promise." She whispered. The stallion watched as the two bulky unicorns took away his loved one. A mint unicorn smiled weakly at the Wonderbolt.

"We're sorry, Mr. Soarin. We are so very sorry." And she trotted away. Following her fellow assassins down the corridor. Leaving the weakened pegasus to his own thoughts.

"Oh dear. This cannot be good."
