Nightmare Moon returns

One peaceful night in Ponyville, Twilight Sparkle was reading a book when a sudden wind came through her open window. After she closed it, a none too familiar laugh broke through the tree. Twilight turned around to come face-to-face with a ghostly looking Nightmare Moon. Twilight opened her mouth and horror but was silenced by Nightmare Moon's magic. "Well well who have we got here? Miss Twilight Sparkle. How are you? Good? So am I. Now sleep and wake up very soon" As soon as Nightmare Moon spoke these words, Twilight felt very tired and drifted into a peaceful slumber.

Twilight woke up and found herself in a strange place. She felt like she had been her before but couldn't remember where or what this place was. Suddenly she remembered. Princess Celestia had taken her here if she was very angry. Nightmare Moon came into her view and still looked ghostly but not quite. Her colour was coming back. Soon she stood proudly before Twilight with a horrible look in her eyes. "Well miss Sparkle do you like this place? Has Celestia taken you here before? Well you must have been very naughty." Nightmare laughed before continuing. "When you suspected that Candace was not herself nopony believed you didn't they? Or how you were so stressed about sending a letter to Celestia but nopony helped you didn't they? They don't care about you Twilight. They never have. Your just a tool under Celestia's command. If you join me we can make them regret what they've done to you. Would you?" Twilight started crying as images flashed across her mind. Her brother yelling at her, her mentors disappointment, her friends turning her away, laughing at her when she was trying to get their help. "Yes. Yes I will join you Nightmare Moon. I can see that I have no use of them now. I will become Nightmare Sparkle"

A Friend Gone?

Something was wrong. All of them could feel it. Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, and Fluttershy rushed to the library to find no Twilight Sparkle but instead a note. A couple of words changed their hearts from worry to sorrow. It said " I am very sorry everyone but I was captured by Nightmare Moon and if you want to find me ask the Princess's. Goodbye, Twilight Sparkle" Applejack called to Spike to write a letter to the princess's.

Spike wrote the letter very quickly and sent it to Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. They were awaiting their arrival. When Princess Celestia and Luna arrived, they demanded to see the letter. When reading, Celestia's face dropped. She knew where her favourite student was and they quickly had to rescue her. She was in the place of dreams and nightmares. Princess Celestia carried Rarity and Applejack while Princess Luna carried Pinkie Pie.

Nightmare Sparkle was looking at her reflection in the dream pool. Her sparkling mane of dark blue, purple and pink certainly matched her eyes with their red irises. Her black amour covered her neck, forehead and legs just like Nightmare Moon's except Nightmare Sparkles had stars on her leg amour. Her near black lavender coat was glimmering with her right to rule. Her wings had razor sharp ends for penetrating.  She was awaiting the arrival of her so called friends. Nightmare Moon was looking at her creation with awe. She was suspecting her to not turn out but her heart was now pure black. They both waited in the shadows. Nightmare Sparkle changed back to Twilight Sparkle to greet her friends.

They was a strange thing in Twilight. In the way she talked, walked and moved looked scary. "Hello everypony how are you? I see you found me. No troubles? That will make this more better." She seemed anxious, waiting for something to happen. We found out soon enough. A cold laugh reached or ears and we looked up to see Nightmare moon towering us. All of us shrank back save Celestia and Luna. Celestia looked at Nightmare Moon in shock while Luna just stared at her. None saw Twilights transformation except Fluttershy. "Twi..Twilight! Quickly Princess Celestia and Luna, Twilights changed!" Fluttershy screamed it out and pointed to Twilight who had finished her transformation into Nightmare Sparkle. Unfurling her wings she turned towards Nightmare Moon and her friends. Rarity fainted at the sight of her, Fluttershy screamed and ran for cover only to be blocked, Rainbow Dash fell to the ground, Applejack felt numb and Pinkie Pie stopped bouncing around for once in her life. Nightmare Moon saw the reaction Twilight had on the Princess's. Celestia had fallen to the ground in horror and Luna looked at Twilight in even more shock then enypony else. "I'll like you to meet Nightmare Sparkle. A new and improved Nightmare and Twilight. Have fun!" Nightmare Moon walked back into the shadows and waited to watch what happens.

Kidnapped and Saved

Nightmare Sparkle looked down at the ponies below her, her eyes full of hatred and anger. "So are you enjoying the new me friends? If not to bad! Lets see how you care about me now!" Luna looked at Celestia. Her face reflected her sisters. Terror. "Why? Why did you change? We loved you. I loved you. I have a crush on you Twilight! Why did you become so evil?" Luna screamed out. Her biggest secret suddenly came out in her moment of anger and sadness. Twilight or Nightmare Sparkle screamed back " Your lying. Nopony loved me! I was just a tool. I did things that Celestia and you could have done and don't give a hoot about me! My so-called friends thought I was acting when I needed them and turned me away! That's WHY!" Nightmare Sparkle had enough. Tears were running down her face but she quickly calmed herself. Her horn turned dark violet and sent a spell at her friends. Luna and Celestia hurried and casted a proactive spell. "Stop! I don't want to do this! Just let me kill them so I don't have to kill them later!" she screamed. Luna sent a spell at her crush. Nightmare quickly flew out of the way but Celestia's spell hit her in the wing. She tumbled down to earth. She saw her friends with the elements of Harmony on. She laughed.

With her wing in agony she faced them after she finished laughing. "They can't work you foals. Without me their useless! All of you are useless!" Celestia sighed before answering. "Your wrong Nightmare Sparkle. With Luna and me we can use the elements." "Good luck finding me then!" Nightmare Sparkle vanished in a puff of dark purple smoke.

Luna looked at Celestia in surprise. She let Nightmare Sparkle run away. "Don't look worried Luna I know where she is." Celestia whispered to Luna. "You do?" Luna asked. "In our old castle talking to Nightmare Moon. But I feel something else. Something begging for help. I feel like I should help it. Wait. It's Twilight!" Celestia whispered very loudly to Luna "Twilight! Really!" Luna yelled to her sister. "She's still in there. Nightmare Moon was made from you right. Well you were trapped inside her exactly like Twilight is inside Nightmare Sparkle." Celestia said why'll trying to calm her down. "Well we must hurry!" Luna said. 'On it already sis." Rarity, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy all heard their conversation. Twilight was in need of help. They remember her face twisted in pain when she was trying to kill them. They had to help her.

Nightmare Sparkle looked at Nightmare Moon with despair. She had taken 200 smashes in the head and both her wings were broken after Nightmare Moon stomped onto it. A tiny part of her wanted her to run away. Go back to her friends. Stop her madness before it was too late. But her wait was almost up. She felt anger and found herself in front of a dazed Nightmare Moon. Both of her wings were broken as well and her head bleeding. Nightmare Moon was laughing. She stood up and Nightmare Sparkle and Moon disappeared in a bright light of blue and came up all new. "Well Nightmare Sparkle you passed the test. Your now a real Nightmare." There was a bright flash behind them. Nightmare Sparkle whipped around to find Celestia, Luna, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie. All were wearing the Elements of Harmony. "Now is the chance Nightmare Sparkle! Show them who is boss."  Nightmare Sparkles horn lit up and blasted all of her friends into the wall. "Twilight stop! Your bury yourself!" Luna screamed. Fluttershy was holding a unconscious Pinkie Pie and was bleeding from a gash in the head, Applejack was bruised, Rainbow Dash had a broken wing and foreleg, Rarity had several cuts and was hugging Spike tightly, Celestia was a little dazed and Luna was crying and holding her broken wing up trying to force her way trough her sisters spell.Nightmare Sparkle stopped.In her mind was crazy. Nightmare Sparkle vs. Twilight Sparkle. Twilight won. "No. NO! I will not be your toy any longer Nightmare Moon. My real friends are here and I don't need you!" Nightmare Sparkle screamed to Nightmare Moon. "Too bad Nightmare Sparkle your still a Nightmare. Once a nightmare always one." Nightmare Moon answered back. "Help me! Guys! HELP ME!" Hearing her pleads the Elements warmed up. A familiar rainbow shot straight at Nightmare Sparkle. "NOOOOO!" Nightmare Sparkle screamed"YES! GET OUT! GET OUT OF ME! GET OUT OF MY BODY!" Twilight screamed back to herself. After the rainbow faded, all was left of both nightmares were the amour. Twilight Sparkle was in the middle of the mess sobbing her heart out.

Reunited

Luna got to Twilight first, hugging the might out of her. "Do you really love me?" Twilight whispered to Luna. "Of course dear Twilight. I would never lie to you." The group reached them just after they finished kissing. Twilight turned to her friends and saw the injury's she made on them.  Twilight looked at each one of them and broke into tears again. All of her friends including both princess's hugged Twilight and all went home. What nopony but Celestia and Luna saw were two wings on Twilight. She had proven herself ready to be an alicorn and princess. All she needed was her  mare-friend, friends and Celestia to help guide her. She would make an excellent princess. She just needed to know that herself.
