Equestria. A nation that, for over a thousand years, has experienced a golden age. Where everypony is content, and the government, led by Princess Celestia, is always vigilant to its people’s needs. However, after the return and resounding defeat of the chaos entity known as Discord, an unprecedented crisis now threatens the nation. Through this, cracks begin to form in the government's time honoured practises. The aristocracy begins to reveal their true agenda, after so long laying dormant under Celestia’s watchful eye. Into this world, a new factor emerges.

Joshua Ford, a mechanical engineer from Earth, was accidentally brought to Equestria, after Celestia’s foray into portal based magic goes awry. In him, a possible new path for the country presents itself. In his head, lies centuries of human teaching on enlightened thought.

Overcome with anger over the injustices forced onto him, Joshua will begin a foray into the realm of revolutionary action, which will hold the potential to change all of Equestria. But, will he guide Equestria to a brighter future under liberty’s light, or will he instead lead it down a dark path from which it will never truly recover?

Disclaimer

The story you are about to read has shades of tyrant Celestia present. Though this is not so extreme as to go against the show's portrayal of her (i.e. she will never start butchering ponies or abusing Twilight Sparkle) this may conflict with some reader's head canon of her as the benevolent and kind pony who rules utopia.
