It is to be a dry celebration without any drink stronger than tea (apart from the good captain’s flask of brandy). I feel that the night guard should come in full force for the celebration but I am hesitant to bring any more than the senior officers.

The captain has been welcoming to the new guard despite his suspicions and I would show him my thanks. But this celebration is to be one of Celestia’s overly formal and dry gatherings and I fear the night ponies would only find themselves making social blunders. The officers have been briefed on etiquette should they need to stand guard at a formal event but even with this training I cannot be certain how they will react around Celestia’s tittering nobles.

My officers, I hope, will have the wisdom not to call for a duel at every remark. Though I must admit seeing the nobles being forced to defend their flippant attitudes in a duel is an amusing prospect.
