Chapter 1: A cold night in both worlds

It was a cold night after I got out of the airport in Vegas, which was truly a beam of light in a dark world. I quickly began heading to the nearest casino known as “The Lucky Ace”. There was a black spade hanging above the sign which held the name in a gleaming light. The inside was no different in embracing the black spade style, as there was black spade designs on the wall, floor, and even the game tables. I turned around and continued to walk down the street. Up ahead some random laughter caught my attention. I looked up and focused my eyes to see what was in the distance. There was a bar, probably near full, basically calling my name.

I started to make my way towards the bar. Along the way I pulled out my wallet and looked at my cash.

“A good $50 and a credit card, good for a few drinks....” I said to myself as I neared the door and pushed it open.

>>> 17 ½ Drinks later <<<

I gulped down another mouthful of my drink and put it down against the table, I turned to my left and looked at the person sitting beside me.

I lifted my drink. “How YOU doin?” I asked with a smile.

No answer.

I lifted an eyebrow. “Hey I was talking to you!” I said pushing my finger against it causing the person to fall over.

“Oh! Sorry!” I said as I turned away.

Then someone sat next to me. “Are you gonna pick that up?” They asked.

“Pick what up?” I asked.

They pointed to the dead person on the ground. “They are dead....” I say back.

They shake their head. “THEY are cardboard.” They said getting up and walking away.

I turn and look at the ‘Cardboard’ “Oh.... sorry mate.” I said dropping an empty glass on the cardboard. “Have a drink.”

I continued to try and drink down my last glass when someone poked me in the shoulder.

“No! I haven't had enough leave me alone! My speech isn’t even....” I stopped and thought for a second. “.... wrong.”

They poked me again, so I turned around with a death glare.

“STAHP!” I yelled at them.

Then I noticed no one was there, so I turned back around.

“Glad they listened....” I said finishing my drink.

I reached into my pocket to pull out my wallet. When I did I looked inside and saw I had no money left.

“The fuck... I’ve been robbed...” I said as I turned around. “IT WAS THE POKER!” I yelled as I ran out of the bar.

I looked around for that thieving man. I wanted my money back. I had a good 200 dollars when I went in there! I think I only spent like.... 10 dollars of it? I started walking down a street looking for any hint to who would be a poking prick. I thought I found him but it was a little kid so I let him go., but I almost blamed him.... he had that look ya know? He had that look to him... that look when.... that.... yeah.... what was I saying?

I shook my head and kept walking, and walking.... and walking. Until I got really really bored and just wanted to go to bed. I began to turn around as I heard a bottle shatter. I nearly got scared out of a heart attack thinking it was a full bottle of booze. I ran towards the alleyway and was relieved to find the shattered bottle empty. I was about to pay it no more attention when a glimmer caught my eye. I looked back towards the shattered bottle where I saw the glimmer. I lightly moved some broken glass out of the way and found a small, blue, coin. I couldn't read what was on it for some reason, whoever made the coin is really bad at making clear pictures. I mean come on, it’s so damn blurry....

“Eh, maybe it’z a gud luck coooiin.” I said to myself as I put it in my pocket.

I had no idea where I was so I decided to go to whatever was nearest me, there was a lot of things near me. So I decided to go to the biggest, brightest thing, there were a lot of those too. So I just decided to go to a random one, which pretty much just meant walking forward and just going wherever my nose would make impact first. Which happened to be nothing because as I neared a giant building, a set of double automatic doors slid open.

“Whoa....” I said to myself in a whisper as I looked around.

There were so many lights EVERYWHERE, meaning only one possible thing. I was in a casino. Normally I would be happy about this, but unfortunately I had no moniez left. That was when it hit me, the coin I had found in the alley.

I ran up to one of the poker chip dealer guys and showed him the coin. “How many chips could I buy with... this coin?” I asked showing him it.

He examined it closely then smiled pulling away. “Sir, go home, you're drunk.” He said laughing a bit.

I have him a angry look and turned around, walking away quickly. I decided to just have a look around the casino, and at least see what I was missing out on. I turned a corner and followed a long hallway. When I reached the end I saw rows upon rows of empty slot machines. I was about to turn and walk away when I felt something very very cold in my hand. I opened my hand and saw the coin in my palm.

I shrugged. “Whatever, good luck is good luck right?” I said to myself as I sat down at the slot machine.

I put the coin in the machine and it’s arm came to life. I grabbed it and waited, waited, waited..... PULL. I threw down the lever on the machine, but to my surprise it continued spinning. At first I thought it may be broken... then I noticed the light. A dim blue light coming from the coin slot. I looked closer at the spinning images on the machine. Suddenly the left one stops on a picture of a moon with a strange looking image on it. I began to feel the machine vibrate. Then the second one stopped spinning and revealed the same image, causing the vibrating effect to increase. Finally the third one stops. A match on all three tiles, everything goes dead quiet.

I look to my left then right to find out what just happened and what I just won, but nothing happened. I looked back and forth again and again still looking for an explanation. All of a sudden the machine roared to life again, going completely nuts. It started rumbling and the crank started moving by itself. The hard metal casing it was made out of started to collapse inward, and before I even had a chance to get up...

Darkness.

>>> Perspective: Luna -- Location: Equestria, Canterlot balcony <<<

“Sister! Are you rising the moon yet? I need to lower the sun!” Yells my Sister Celestia from a different room.

I roll my eyes. “Yes sis.... I’m doing it right now!” I say as I light up my horn and focus my power.

I feel the cold run up my spine as I will the moon to take it’s place in the sky. I watch it as it begins to take the suns place. When I am finished I release my magic and smile at my night sky.

I begin to turn away when I feel something unnatural in the air. I turn and look into the sky once more to see a star slowly moving towards the moon’s direction. Suddenly I see a spark of light and it changed direction, It begins heading straight towards the planet. On a crash course.

I jump into action by jumping off the balcony and flying towards it. “Now how in Equestria does a star even make it past the atmosphere?” I said to myself as I increased my speed.

I stopped when i realized how close it was getting, and it’s speed. I began to power up my magic as much as I could. Just a few moments before impact I released my full power to attempt to stop the object in mid flight.

I guess you can say I succeeded.... one way or another.
