Chapter 1: The Fire

The Fire

My name is Green. I'm an alicorn, mostly green all over. I live in Ponyville, Equestria. I've lived here for all my life. I've only known one pony as a friend. Her name is Rainbow Dash or Dashie as I say. She's lived here as long as I have. She's a pegasus. Her dad's an earth pony, so they live on the ground. Dashie says that she'll move to a cloud home when she can move out. Anyway, we've been friends since we were foals. Ever since I started to get older, I developed feelings for her. But that's for later. What is for now is why she's parent-less.

"Oh my god." I looked at the remains of the once tall home of Dashie, now a pile of ashes. I began to tear up, stomped the ground in anger and looked up. I saw Dashie sitting in a tree, crying. I climbed up it and sat on the same branch. The tree was tall, strong and thick.

"Hi Green," She said, heavyhearted She looked like a wreck. Her rainbow mane was frazzled and her coat was covered in ashes.

"What happened?" I asked. She began to cry. "You don't have to if you don't want to." She sniffled. I saw the sorrow in her face. She looked lower than ever before.

"You should know." I opened my arms and she came over and hugged me, crying in my mane. She then whispered everything to me.

Apparently, on her way home from flight practice, her home caught on fire. She tried to use clouds to put it out, but it was too late for her parents as they burned to death in the flames. Soon, the fire department arrived and left after a few hours. I arrived soon after.

I was still holding her tight and I started to cry too. "I'm so sorry." She looked at me.

"It wasn't your fault. Nor was it mine. It just happened." She sighed.

"Don't you have somewhere else to stay?"

"I don't have other relatives." She broke into tears. "No mom. No dad. No family. No one to love." I then got an idea. It was a long-shot, but I had to try.

"I love you." She looked up at me with shock, wiping away her tears.

"What?" She asked. I lifted my head.

"You're beautiful, spunky, cunning, loyal and so much more. Ever since we were kids, I've loved you. Your not alone. I love you. If we can, I hope we can..." I was interrupted by her hoof in my mouth. She leaned in and whispered something in my ear.

"I love you, too." She leaned in and kissed me on the lips. No other moment could ever top this. It was just us. We were together and that's what mattered.

Epilogue:

She moved into my home and I welcomed her with open hoofs. We spent a long time together and we loved it. We did all that sappy couples stuff. Usually, Dashie would never do those things, but after she met me, she felt more sensitive around me. She opened up to me about everything, and thus, we grew as a couple.
