“C’mon!” squealed Applebloom, as a tired Scootaloo and Sweetiebelle emerged out of Appleblooms bedroom window. “What are we doing now?” sighed Scootaloo as she jumped onto a tree about a metre from the window. “Were going?’ whined Sweetiebell, as she stumbled onto the ground. “To Zecora’s!” Applebloom said with a smile!, “why Zecora’s?” said a puzzled scootaloo. “Because!..... well... i haven’t seen her in a while...and... i want to know whats up with her ya’ know?” sighed Applebloom “fine...” said Scootaloo, “but i still don't know why your hauling us two with you” questioned scootaloo.
“Well it’ll look a bit odd if Big mac were to come into our room and see only you two and not all of us!” Applebloom said triumphantly. “I guess your right...” yawned Sweetiebelle tiredly. “Now c’mon, we need to go, we’ve only got about 3 hours to find Zecora and see her!” said Applebloom as she turned away from Scootaloo and Sweetiebelle and dashed off into the direction of the Forest. Scootaloo and Sweetiebell looked at each other and sighed in unison and followed applebloom.

“It sure is dark here!” whimpered Applebloom as she crossed over into the Forest, “Y-you got that r-right!” replied sweetiebelle who only just caught up with Applebloom. Scootaloo who was about 1 metre away from Applebloom suddenly piped up in merriment, “just remember what pinkie pie told us! you know... to laugh at anything that scares use...?” said Scootaloo nervously. “Yeah lets uhhh lets do that!” Applebloom said with a tinge of worry in her voice. Slowly each of the worried little fillies started to chuckle and giggle ever so lightly, it somewhat worked as their minds were minds were taken off the darkness.

“LOOK!” gasped Applebloom in excitement, “there’s Zecora’s house....uhhh hut thingy..”. All three engaged into a small sprint to Zecora’s hut, “uhhhhh is she awake?” said Scootaloo peering through the window. “Yeah she is!” said Sweetiebelle who was precariously balancing on Applebloom’s shoulders, “uhhh Sweetiebelle.. c-can you get d-down now?” said Applebloom in exhaustion. “Oh yeah sorry!” sweetiebelle said as she swiftly dismounted Applebloom, Applebloom lifted a hoof to knock on zecora’s door, but as soon as she was about to strike the door, it opened and a waft of brilliant and interesting smells breathed out of the door and a perky Zecora emerged and was looking down at them.

“Ahhh hello you three” said Zecora “i have been waiting for thee” rhymed Zecora “hi zecora, we just came over from sweet apple acres to see how y’all doing!” Applebloom said happily “yeah!” said Scootaloo and Sweetiebelle in unison. “So... need any help?” said Applebloom cheerily. “It is true that i need some assistance” Zecora began in her thick lush voice “however what i need help in... will take some persistence...” zecora shot all three of them a wicked smile. “Wha- whats that th-then” Applebloom said shakily “take this fire seed and go round the back of my hut” exclaimed Zecora “and force it down the stem of the Te’le plant and bring It back to me”. “Ok “ said all three in unison “we’ll do that” they let out a cheesy grin and started to wander around the back of Zecora’s hut, “so gang? what do you reckon this Te’le-plant-thingy looks like?” asked Scootaloo “i dont know but im sure we’ll find it”. As they went behind Zecora’s hut they were met with a wave of colour and fragrance of 1,000 plants and flowers, there jaws dropped as they scanned the area filled with flowers “this might be harder than we thought...” sighed Applebloom.

As soon as she said that a bright flash of light emanated from their hoof’s and instantly moved from one side of the field to the other, all three looked at each other “what was that?”. Said Applebloom and Sweetiebelle in unison, Scootaloo grinned and exclaimed “THAT MUST BE THE TE’LE PLANT!” “what makes you think that?” applebloom said with a puzzled tone. “Its obvious!” said Scootaloo “Twilight calls that thingy when she disappears and reappears in a different spot ‘teleporting’, this plant does just what twilight does, and Zecora says the plant is called the Te’le plant!” said Scootaloo happily. “Oh scootaloo you egghead!” laughed Applebloom “hehehehe” Scootaloo nervously chuckled.

She trotted up to the Te’le plant and picked it, only to find that it wasn't in her mouth “what the?” Scootaloo said puzzled, she looked around and saw the Te’le plant about 4 metres away from her. “Right, Scootaloo, you go over there, Sweetiebelle, you go across from me and on my mark we’ll all grab it” Scootaloo and Sweetiebelle drifted to their positions, “3, 2.....1! NOW!” all 3 jumped in the air and landed on the Te’le plant grabbing it and uprooting it imediatly, Applebloom grabbed the fire seed and rammed it up its stalk, as soon as she did so, the plant ignited in a blue flame “wow!” all three said in amazement. “C’mon, lets take it to Zecora” Applebloom said as she drudged to the hut’s door, eyes fixated on the glowing firey blue plant.

“Zecora! look at this! *WHAM!* Scootaloo crashed straight into the back of Applebloom, the blazing blue fire plant soared into the air, heading to a open window. Zecora jumped into the air and expertly caught it in her hoof. She rose up furious, and shouted “YOU HAVE TO BE MORE CAREFUL YOU TWO, OR YOU WILL FIND YOUR SELF’S IN MY HOME BREW!” “were s-s-sorry Zecora” Scootaloo and Applebloom whimpered “now.. before you cause to much trouble take a look and see what i do with this fire blue plant” Zecora plopped it into a white got bubbling liquid in a cauldron in the centre of the room, the liquid glowed bright blue and started to his “hey where’s sweetiebelle?” asked Applebloom “hold on” said Scootaloo, “SSWWWEEETTTIIIIEEE BEEELLLLEEEE!” yelled Scootaloo as she poked her head out the door “what what???” sweetiebelle exclaimed as she ran toward Scootaloo “LOOK OUT!” shouted Scootaloo as Sweetiebelle crashed into Scootaloo sending her soaring into the air and smashing into the cauldron, causing it to topple sideways onto the ground, spilling its now violet bubbling contents spilling onto the floor. Immediately it ignited into a fiery slick, Zecora narrowly dodged it as it streaked along the wall and caught fire. “Wha-whats going on?” mumbled Scootaloo and Sweetiebelle “SWEETIEBELLE, SCOOTALOO GET OUT NO-” Applebloom’s shout was cut off by her been suddenly lifted off the ground with Sweetiebelle and Scootaloo by Zecora who swiftly ran out of her now a-blaze hut with them.

Zecora sat them down about 5 metres from the burning mass that was once Zecora’s home “WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR PLAYING AT SWEETIEBELLE!” ranted Zecora. “I..i-I'm sorry Zecora!!!” whined sweetiebelle as she fully realised the consequence of her actions, Zecora looked behind her, the hut she used to live in was now a blazing blue and purple inferno and the surrounding tree’s had started to catch fire in the canopy “right now we have to leave”began Zecora “for now is not the time to grieve” said Zecora. The three fillies were stood not moving immortalised in terror of the burning blaze, there eyes wide with fear and mouths agape. Zecora lifted them one by one onto her back and ran in the direction of Ponyville and out of the burning Forest she used to call home.

Big Macintosh was lying in his bed, wondering how his sister, Applejack, was enjoying the summer solstice with her friends in Canterlot. It was the 1001st summer solstice, and princess Celestia had invited Twilight sparkle and her friends to be guest’s of honor in the party that marked the beginning of it. Big Macintosh sighed at the loneliness, all he had for company was applebloom, but she was having her friends sleep over so she didn't really have time for Big mac, he did however get a visit from Cheerilee once in a while that cheered him up. Big mac slid out of his bed and started to get ready for a whole day of applebucking, he thought he would check up on Applebloom and her friends first before he went out though. He went to Applebloom’s door and slid it open a crack, he peeked inside and gasped, no one was in the bed! neither were her friends, he searched the room quickly with his eyes and then saw the open window. He approached the window to be met only with a awful smell of burning foliage, he looked outside and saw Everfree Forest a-blaze!, he glanced away from the forest, not processing that the forest was on fire, and looked at his orchard, then his eyes widened with realisation that the forest was on fire and his orchard was in danger!.

Big Macintosh whizzed downstairs faster than a lightning bolt and threw open the front door, the Forest was just a wall of blue and purple flame. Big Macintosh had never seen anything like it in his life, as he stared at it he started to see thin wisps of black smoke rising from the fire. He thought this was just smoke from the burning bark and leaves, but as he looked closer, he noticed the wisps of smoke were moving erratically and were merging together! “BBIIGG MMAACC!” a voice cried out, Big mac turned his attention to the entrance of the Forest, he saw Zecora with; Applebloom, Scootaloo, and Sweetiebelle on her back, she was galloping for her life, behind her the fire from Everfree forest was spreading exponentially, engulfing what she not only a few seconds ago was running on.

Big Macintosh started galloping towards Zecora in her aid, he effortlessly dodged apple tree’s and met up with her taking Scootaloo, Sweetiebelle and Applebloom off her back and leading her to the barn.
“Wha-how? did this happen?” Big Macintosh questioned frantically, Zecora told him what happened with the te’le plant and the cauldron, surprisingly Big Macintosh took it well. “Well you three” Big Mac said, “I'll deal with you two later, Zecora, you go to Ponyville and wake up to town and alert them, I'll stay here and make sure the fire doesn't spread” said Big Macintosh heroically.

Zecora just nodded and she ran in the direction of Ponyville as did Sweetiebelle and Scootaloo, however Applebloom refused to move “Applebloom, go with your friends, its not safe here” said Big Macintosh “NO I'M STAYING HERE!” shouted Applebloom “APPLEBLOOM! your not staying here!” as soon as Big Macintosh said that, he lifted Applebloom up and ran her in the direction of Zecora, as soon as he put her down, Applebloom looked at him and said nothing, the ran towards Ponyville.

“Scootaloo, you go to the mayors house and warn her of the fire” Zecora gasped to scootaloo” “yes Zecora” Scootaloo said apologeticaly as she trotted in the direction of the mayors house “Sweetiebelle, you and I are going to get the townspeople awake OK?” “yes Zecora” sweetiebelle said as she started in the direction of the town center
*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK* Scootaloo rapped on the mayors door, she heard movement in the house... *KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK* “okay okay, im coming hold on... jeez” said a familiar voice. The door swung open to reveal spike standing at the mayors doorway “Scootaloo? what are yo-” spike was cut off by Scootaloo who shouted “WHERES THE MAYOR?, THE FOREST IS ON FIRE AND WE NEED HELP!” Spike was taken aback a bit when he heard this, he gave her a inquisitive look and called behind him “Mayor?? we have a bit of a situation here!” “what is it now Spike?” she said as she trotted down the stair in her maroon dressing gown. “Don't tell me you are missing Twilight again, i already... Scootaloo? what are you doing up so earlie?” questioned the Mayor as she descended the stairs of her house “THE FOREST IS ON FIRE!” Scootaloo screamed at the top of her voice. The mayor stared at Scootaloo “oh Scootaloo, you and your shenanigan's!” the mayor said in a joking voice.

At that moment, Scootaloo stepped aside to reveal a thick cloud of smoke and dancing smokey wisps rising behind her in the distance. The mayor stared at it for a few seconds, her mouth agape. *SMACK* Spike smacked the mayor “c’mon! snap out of it! we need to tell celestia right away!” instantly spike grabbed a feather and ink and produced a piece of paper and started frantically writing on it. withing seconds he went out side and rolled up the piece of paper and ignited it sending it on its way “there, she’ll be here any minute!” spike said expectantly “now Scootaloo how did this happen?” Scootaloo told them the whole story from sneaking out Appleblooms house, to meeting Zecora, to igniting the forest. As soon as Scootaloo finished talking, a blinding flash of light appeared behind them. Princess Celestia appeared behind them along with twilight sparkle. Princess Celestia had Rarity and Applejack holding onto two of her legs, Fluttershy was sat on her back and Pinkie pie was swinging round Princess Celestia’s neck screaming “WEEEEE! this is going to be fun!”. “Wow that actually worked!” said Celestia as she took off Pinkie pie who was still wildly spinning round her neck “iv only ever teleported 3 beings with me before, not 4!.” “Great!” said Spike “your all here!... errr wait... wheres Rainbow dash?” Spike counted them “yeah there’s only 6 of you, wheres Rainbow da-” Spike was cut off by a huge whooshing sound as 13 blue objects flew over them “what the...” Spike said in confusion.

“Theres Rainbow dash!” shouted pinkie pie while jumping up in the air in exitement “ohhh look, she’s flying with the Wonderbolts too!” she exclaimed “Rainbow dash offered to help them” Celestia explained, “after all, they need all the help as they can get.” A soon as Celestia said that, each Wonderbolt and Rainbow dash produced a bucket of water and dumped it over the forest in a diagonal pattern. When they had finished dropping their load of water, they all dispersed and flew down to Ponyville, skimming over the top of the river and dunking the buckets under the water, filling the buckets. as soon as they had finished filling up, they flew into the air once more and bolted toward the still partially burning forest. They once again dropped their cargo of water on the last remaining parts of the forest “few! im glad i aint a pegasus! i could’nt be able ta fly like that even if i had my own set of wings” said Applejack inpressed. The forest was now just a smouldering mass of black burned foliage, thick black smoke was still rising above it and huge clouds of dancing black gas started to erupt from the burned tree’s.
“What the hay...?” Twilight said in amazement as the clouds started to rise and seemingly dance and form into one, while this was happening Rainbow dash and the 12 Wonderbolts landed in front of them all “phew! nice work team!” gasped Soarin as he walked passed the Wonderbolts bro-hoofing them one by one “what are you guys all guys staring at?” laughed Rainbow dash, everpony was staring behind the Wonderbolts and Rainbow dash as a huge ball of smoke was forming into a huge skull behind them “errr guys...? im right here!” Rainbow dash said “what you all gawking at..?” she glanced behind her at the burnt out forest and looked back at them all “oh yeah I'm the pony who just... did... tha-” she shot her head round behind her again and noticed the huge smoke skull starting to glide toward Ponyville.

“Whoa” that was all Rainbow dash managed to utter out before she fell over backwards, suddenly everpony started talking at once “oh my gosh!” “whats that?” “what the hay” “oh my” everpony started to panic as the skull showed no sign of slowing down “T-t-twilight...? wha-what is that thing!?” Spike stammered as he walked up to Twilight. I don't know Spike...
“Everpony do you realise what that is??” a voice called out among the screaming populace of ponyville, it was Zecora “its the demons of the everfree tree’s! the legends were true!” gasped Zecora. “What legend??” Sweetiebelle, Applebloom and Scootaloo said in unison. “the legend speaks of all evil spirits from Discords time been help captive in the trees of everfree forest, and if those trees were to be destroyed... the spirits would be unleashed...” Zecora said “HA it’ll be no match for me!” said Rainbow dash as she flew into the air and zoomed toward the skull “WAIT!” shouted Zecora after her... but i was too late, Rainbow dash was already well on her way to the skull.

“ha! lets see you take this!” said Rainbow dash to herself. She flew into the skull and exited out the back of it covered in soot and ash “whoa whoa wow!” her wings were clogged with ash and she began to fall “YAHHHH!” she screamed as she plummeted to the ground. Luckily a mound of ash broke her fall *cough cough* “awwww whats all this black stuff in my wings?” she said to herself as she got up, her wings were caked with it, she couldn't fly at all. She looked at the skull, it was still hovering toward Ponyville. Suddenly it all split into thousands of oval shapes that all darted in a circle for a second, then they all separated and headed for Ponyville like bullets!. The sky went black for Ponyville, the sun was behind the swarming bullets inbound for Ponyville “uhh heh! what do we do now?” questioned Applejack nervously ”uhh RUN!” shouted Twilight as the Wonderbolts flew up into the air and dispersed. A few seconds later they all hit, they seemingly passed through matter, but what ever they passed through was... gone, it dissolved whatever it touched, except for living matter. Rainbow dash was watching in horror from about 200 metres away in the once lush and green forest, that was now just a flat plain of ash and soot.

“Err what do i do now err errr!” Rainbow dash frantically looked around, her eyes trained upon Ponyville river “AHA! I’ll wash my self off so i can fly, then i can go help!.” Slowly but surely Rainbow dash started stumbling over to the river bank, the steps getting harder and harder as she went along, it was like the ash was pulling her back, slowly but surely she dunked herself into the water. She stayed under for a few seconds shaking herself, when she surfaced she noticed that ALL the ash and soot was gone, there was no trace of it ever been on her “RAINBOW DASH!” are you alright?” said Soarin as he descended above her “wha- how did you get here? and why aren’t you helping the others!?” Rainbow dash exclaimed “well as soon as i saw you crash i silently lifted off to come get you, and to.. err you know.. jus’ see if you were ok” Rainbow dash blushed and said “oh err thanks!” a few seconds passed and then Rainbow snapped back into reality.

“Soarin! the ash cloud thingy! it doesn't like water!” Rainbow dash splutter out “what? how do you know?” said Soarin intrigued “when i went to wash myself off, the ash started to pull me away from the water! like it was afraid of it, then when i went under the water, the ash dissolved and disappeared!” gasped Rainbow dash “well how are we going to get water over to Ponyville?” asked Soarin, he glanced over to Ponyville, it was still been ravaged by the ash cloud. “I GOT IT!” Rainbow dash exclaimed! “were gonna need all the wonderbolts, and Celestia’s help!.”

“Oh my, what are we gonna do!” squeaked Fluttershy as she cowered behind Twilight, “i...i... i dont know!... but were not staying under my library forever!” stammered Twilight. “and those ash things...I’ve never seen anything like that before, nor read about it!” gasped Twilight “well I’m not going out there!” said Rarity, who was trembling a bit “i don't want my dress disintegrated!” “tut” “look Rarity, do you want your house disintegrated?” sighed Applejack. “What do you think Celestia?” Twilight asked. “The last time i saw some thing like this, was when Discord was ruling, i never thought that it would be still around” Celestia said “if ya ask me, i think we should ask Zecora over there, she seem’ed to know what she was talkin’ about earlier!” said Applejack everpony nodded in agreement so Zecora, what was this legend you were talking about a few minutes ago..?” as soon as Twilight said that the door blew open and Rainbow dash and Soarin flew in “wha- RAINBOW DASH! its sooooo nice to see you again!” Pinkie pie rushed toward her and hugged her “ewwww! your all wet! and cold... why are you wet and cold? c’mon rainbow dash tell us!” squealed Pinkie.

“No time to explain! Twilight! Celestia! we need your help!” gasped Rainbow dash “how do you need our help..? you have a plan?” Celestia asked “YES!” “Applejack!, i need you to round up all of the people and keep them indoors!” will do!” Applejack exclaimed “Fluttershy! i need you to get all the rabbits, hares, and what ever wildlife you can find and put them indoors too!” “o-okay” said Fluttershy quietly “Rairity go with fluttershy!” “indeed” said Rairity “and Pinkie pie. errrr go with Applejack and keep everpony entertained and reassure them the situation is under control” “OH-KAY-DOH-KEYYY!” shouted Pinkie pie “Soarin, you go get the rest of the Wonderbolts and meet me and Twi at the river OK?” “you can count on me Rainbow” said soarin as he bolted up into the sky. Celestia, go to the edge of town and as soon as i wave both hooves at you lift what Twilight is carrying OK? “OK Rainbow dash, i hope this plan of yours works. “Now Twi, your with me, c’mon to the river!” Rainbow galloped out from under the canopy of Twilight's library, so did Twilight galloping fast after her, by now, just about every building in Ponyville had a chunk missing out of it, the ground was pocketed with holes made by the ash cloud monster. “Rainbow dash what am i going to do..? what am i carrying?” yelled Twilight “il tell you when we get there!.”

About 5 minutes later they arrived, so did Soaring and 11 other Wonderbolts “Twilight me and the Wonderbolts are going to lift up a portion of the river ok? can you lift it on your own for at least 5 seconds?” said Rainbow dash in desperation “i-il try my best” gulped Twilight. Good! Soarin, lets get to it! shouted Rainbow dash. As soon as she said that they all lifted into the air and started to spin around in a circular motion around the river, getting faster and faster until there was just a blue ring hovering just above the water, slowly the water started to funnel in the middle of the Pegasus ponys flying in a circle and rise up in the air, they continued to do this for about half a minute until tonnes of water was floating in the air from the shear force of the ponys flying around it. very delicately, they started to form into a orb around the floating water, a few seconds later twilight heard a voice call out “N-N-NOW TWILIGHT L-L-LIFT I-IT!”. Twilight did as she was told and dug her hooves into the dirt and started to concentrate on the orb of water that was now floating 3 metres above the ground, her eyes went white as she started to force her magic around it, retaining its shape and levitation “I-I-I THI-THINK- I’VE GO-GOT IT!” twilight said as she focused on the ball. When she said that, the Wonderbolts and Rainbow dash slowed to a halt and looked at the orb “great work twilight! your doing great!, now hold it hold it!!!! Rainbow dash shouted as she started flailing her hooves at Celestia who was watching in awe in Ponyville.

Rainbow dash was gesturing her hooves upwards as in *LIFT! LIFT IT!* so Celestia concentrated all her power on the orb. Twilight heard a voice in her head, it was a nice, and gentle voice saying “its ok Twilight, i have it you can let go now” Twilight, once again, did as she was told and relinquished the orb of water from her grasp, as soon as she did so, she collapsed on the floor and passed out. Celestia lifted the orb with ease and swiftly flew it over Ponyville, as soon as it was hovering over Ponyville all of the ash clouds that were ravaging the town stopped and merged into one big skull again. It had noticed what Celestia was doing and started to maneuver its self toward her, however it did not get to close, because as soon as it started to move toward her Celestia dumped the orb of water all over Ponyville engulfing it in water and disintegrating the ash skull. Water rushed in-between the streets of Ponyville like a tidal wave “oh! EVERYONE ONE LOOK! I'm going to take another bath!” pinkie wailed as she strolled up to the front door of the house everpony was in “hold on there sugar cube! your not gonna want to go out there!” said Applejack as she grabbed Pinkie by the tail and slowly pulled her away from the door.

“Twilight! are you OK?” said Rainbow dash as she ran and slid next to her a small knee high wave of water rolled down from the down and wash under them waking Twilight up “meh uh uh!” her eyes snapped open “where is everypony!? is everypony safe? wheres the ash cloud?!” Twilight frantically threw questions at Rainbow dash to which Rainbow dash replied “yes everpony is safe, were all OK” “phew that was a close call!” gasped Soarin as he once again bro-hoofed his team, “huh you can say that again! said spitfire happily.

3 days later

“phew! so nice of the Princess to send us to Appaloosa hot springs while the town is repaired ain't it Twilight?” said Rainbow dash happily “oh yeah!” said Twilight while she was getting a hoof massage “i bet Applejack likes it too don't you Apple- where are you Applejack?” suddenly Pinkie pie came out of nowhere and said extremely fast “Applejack is over there by Bloomburg, you know, that tree she sent here for her cousin Braeburn, and in fact Applejack and Braeburn are under Bloomburg over there having a picnic!””well that explains where she’s been all this time” Twilight said. “Rarity watch this! are you watching?” said Fluttershy as she stood on top of a 30cm high diving board “yes I’m watching darling” Rarity said as she focused on getting her tan, Fluttershy slowly jumped off and fluttered down to the waters surface and with out a ripple, sunk underneath its surface. She almost immediately rose up and said in a very quiet voice wow! did you see that, it was amazing!.”

“Hey.. isn't that Zecora over there?” said Rainbow dash “i think it is.. hey Zecora!” shouted Twilight “what was that legend again? you never told us?”said Twilight “very well i shall recite it just for you, but what i say might not necessarily be true!” rhymed Zecora. During Discords rule, he created all sorts of terrible things, and when Celestia came to rule, she banished them to the everfree forest, they became the tree’s and the green’s, and the flowers and the weeds” Zecora said in her deep lush voice “burning the tree’s released all of the tree’s spirits.” “i see, i see” Twilight said “well at least there gone now” Twilight said happily as she sat back into her deck chair and tug a huge swig of Orange juice out of her glass.
