Chapter 1: Encounter

Encounter

(Authors notes)

This was written after a bout of insomnia at 2am so please be kind to any logic flaws or terrible grammar. I only meant this to be just a piece of concept work but I will endeavor to turn it into a full story if enough people like it. Constructive criticism is welcome, I think that’s it anyway enjoy.

(End of Authors notes)

As you settle on the opposite side of the screen to me, I have become enraptured by your ethereal beauty; her ice blue eyes look back at me. She giggled slightly, the pale cascade of hair brushing against her pale face. She smiles slightly as I fell into oblivion. I waken from my trance to find that your body is engulfed in a heavenly light that is reserved for only the purest of beings. As the light ebbed away to the point where I can see your face I am shocked but no less entranced by the beauty that sits opposite to me.

Her features had softened but something wasn’t quite the same to be frank. Her face has morphed to that of a horse but more rounded and pony-like if reality could allow such a thing to occur. To the contrary it seemed that all that the laws governing reality had decided to take a break or simply were just not paying enough attention because the captivating beauty had turned into a pony with a coat of the pure white and a mane of pale blue.

She put her hoof on the glass pane that kept us in our separate worlds and she gave a weak smile as if to say come with me. With much resistance from my brain, heart took my hand and place against the glass where the pony’s hoof was. Her smile grew as a white glow emanated from her forehead. The same light that engulfed her started to engulf me. The light pulled away; still dazed the glass became softer and more malleable, almost inexistent. The glow from her forehead intensified and she reached through the glass and pulled me over to her side.

Dazed and confused I awoke to find that reality had a cruel sense of humour and had gotten very bored in its infinite age and had decided to play a joke on me or my food had been laced with some form of potent hallucinogen. I stopped to ponder both circumstances to hallucinogen seemed the most likely but reality having a laugh at my expense is just as likely. My form had altered just like my mystery mare on the other side of my screen. As the mare floated a mirror in front of my face I examined the stranger starring back at me. My features became more “ponifyed” for lack of a better word. My features became softer but my mouth and nose seems to be quite angled but quite handsome none the less. The white mare still holding the mirror in place (though I have no idea how she was doing that but from I’ve experienced today it doesn’t bother me) seemed very happy with what she had achieved while I continued to stare at my new found hooves. She stopped and looked over to me. I was still examining the new body that reality had “kindly” given me. She trotted up to me and asked me what was wrong?
I replied with I’m not sure; I continued and asked if you could please tell me please what going on? She grinned like a Cheshire cat and replied with I recently acquired a rare artefact that supposedly had some form of creature living inside of it. I wanted to meet this creature and to if the legend was true.
The legend? I said dumbfounded.
Yes, the one where you would so grateful for being released that you would grant me some of your power she said still grinning like a maniac.
I went from dumbfounded to a deadpan when she said that. “Sorry to burst your bubble but I’m not magical in any way, shape or form.” I rattled off sounding like a disclaimer in an over the counter medication commercial.
Her smile quickly slumped and she asked why were you trapped in the mirror in the first place?
“I wasn’t trapped I was living a albeit strange life, undisturbed by talking ponies who kidnap me.” The sheer weirdness that was keeping me passive had worn off by now and I was starting to get aggressive. You see back on the other side (I like that phrase I’m sticking with it) I was recluse who did nothing but read. A little known fact is that if read too much Lovecraft and Poe some of their madness will rub off on you I know this as the fact that it is because it’s happened to me. It’s the reason I haven’t completely freaked out or gone mad and hug her till her face when as blue as her mane. I finally left my thoughts and came back to reality (what was left of it) to find that my mystery mare was jabbing with something blunt. I asked her what it was since with hooves it’s impossible to pick anything up; she told me she had a horn. That broke it for me I burst out laughing and I said what’s next? Me having wings? I started to chuckle with a sense of victory. She coughed and pointed to my back. What I shouted could been heard throughout this new land. The shout wasn’t one of disturbing realisation but in was one frustration because on the other side I was in control of everything but I’ve been ejected from my seat of control and thrown into world where everything is different.

After a crash course in Pegasus Anatomy and Pony Society I started to get a feel for my new body. I was still uncomfortable with the idea of a cutie mark especially when mine was complex design in the form of a circle. In this excitement I for to ask her name she gave me Humming Joy (I wasn’t sure if it was an alias or not). She asked for mine and I told her I would go by Trance Scape or TS for short.

After thought
That was some hard work. Sorry for the confusing Point of views I tried to have a strange surreal felling about it. Anyway I had fun with this I hope you had reading it.
