Doctor Whooves and Blue River had been together for 5 years. They were, what everypony said, a match made in heaven. Blue River was a sea purplish-blue peagus’ pony, with a light blue, wavy mane and tail, which both had a cream streak through it. She had the colour eyes of the sky and her cutie mark was a waterfall. She was in charge of the rain at weather patrol.
The Doctor, was a very handsome colt, he had a dark brown spiky mane and tail, while his coat was light brown, he also had blue eyes, but was a earth pony, his cutie mark was a time turner, since he was secretly a time lord. But only Blue River knew that.
The two would travel through time together, they would do literally everything together. That was, until one faithful day. River was at work, pleading the other weather ponies to let the rain fall tomorrow so that she and Doctor could spend some sunny weather together. While, in the meantime, Doctor, or Doc for short, was sitting outside enjoying the sun, and some ‘me’ time. He did get sick of spending every single second of his day with her sometimes.
While Doc was sitting outside, the new mailpony stopped at his house and asked,
“Is t-this the Whooves residence?” She was a young, grey peagus pony, with a normal blond short mane and tail. One of her eyes seemed to be a lazy eye, which Doc tried to look at as an amazing feature on her. Her eyes were the colour of the sun, a bright yellow.
“Why it certainly is, how can I help you?” Doc said.
“Well, I’m a new p-p-pony in t-town, and I h-heard that y-you were one of t-th-the friendliest pony in t-town” The pony stuttered.
“Well, I’m Doctor, you can just call me Doc, and, why, thank you for coming to me, so what’s your name?”Doc asked the young mare.
“M-my name is Ditzy-doo, but you can j-just call me Ditzy, or my nickname, Derpy!” Ditzy said
Doc found the name Derpy a bit rude, but called her that anyway, cause she seemed to like it.
“Well, Derpy, Let me show you around town!”Doc said.
“That would be nice!” Derpy said.
So Doc led Ditzy around town, showing her too lots of different ponies, and buildings.
After a long day of walking, talking and showing. Doc finally stopped and asked Derpy,
“So where are you staying overnight?”
“Oh, at an old friends house called Carrot-Top!” Derpy replied before any pony could say ‘Sweet Celestia’.
“Oh, look at the time, I’d better be going, my wife’s going to be real mad!” Doc exclaimed.
“Wife?” whispered Derpy sadly as Doc walked away.
When Doc opened the door to his home, Blue River was standing in the kitchen, glaring at him.
“Where were you?” She said silently, but angrily.
“Oh, I was showing the new mail mare around town! You and her would be great friends!” Doc smiled, trying to wipe his wife’s angry mood of her face.
“I thought we made a vow, you know, with this?” She held up her necklace that had a silver water fall charm and a gold time turner charm on it. Every mare got one of those necklaces when they got married.
“That doesn’t mean spending every single second with you, I mean, we barely have enough time to spend with Sparkler! She’s always on her own, or out with friends, we never get to spend time with the whole family, it’s usually just you and me!” Doc started to shout at the end of his sentences.
“It’s always with your excuses, Sparkler this, mail mares that, time trouble this! Every time I try to bring a sunny day on a scheduled rainy day, you waste it!” Blue River yelled.
“Well why don’t you let it rain, and we can use, the SCHEDULED SUNNY DAYS!! IS THAT TOO HARD FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND?!?” Doc screamed.
“Well if that’s the way you want it, then that’s the way you get it.” Blue said, “I’m leaving, for a week or 5 on holiday, without you. If I come back and your with that new ‘mail mare’ I’ll leave your life forever.”
“No, darling please, I’m sorry!” Doc said. Blue River just kept on walking towards their room.
“Please, at least say good night to your daughter.” Doc said softly.
“Fine..” River said, she walked the other way down to Sparkler’s room.
Doc stood at the door and listened to what his 2 girls were talking about.
“Mum, why do you and dad fight so much now, can’t we ever have a good day together as a family?” Sparkler, his daughter asked her mum.
“Well darling, it’s complicated, I’ll tell you when you get older.” River said.
“Why not now? Why later?” Sparkler asked
“Why all these questions? You’re making me tired, just sleep now, ok darling, I’ll always love you, no matter what, you understand, remember that, remember that forever,” River continued, “Your dad and I still love each other too, ok? All mum’s and dad’s fight sometimes, you don’t have to worry about it...” She trailed off.
Knock knock, Knock knock...
Doc peeked his head through the door and asked,
“Can I join my two girls?” Doc sat next to sparkler and said,
“How’s my lovely purple unicorn doing?”
“I’m good dad! But I have to ask you something, something to you both...” Sparkler said.
River and The Doctor looked at each other with confusion.
“Yes, darling?” River said.
“Why am I a unicorn, when mum’s a peagus and dad’s an earth pony?”
The tie breaking question, the one that neither of the parent’s would’ve liked to hear, especially on a night like this.
“That’s a tough one, we can’t tell you that just yet, we will let you know when you’re older, like 12...” Doctor said.
“Ok, but that’s a long way away! I’m only 7!” She exclaimed.
“Don’t worry about it, darling, oh look at the time! Way past your bed time! Time to close your eyes, ok?” River said and gave her daughter a kiss, so did doc.
They walked out of the room into their own room, got ready for bed themselves.
“See that wasn’t that hard,” Doc said when they went to bed.
“No, it wasn’t...” River said as she got under the blanket. “Though don’t expect me to play nice mommy, life isn’t the way it used to be. I’ve decided I’m leaving in two days time. Tell your daughter that, when I am gone, I’ve gone on a mission for weather patrol. Remember what I told you, because I’m not saying it again.” And then she was in a deep sleep.
Doc couldn’t sleep that night, you’d think it would be easy for him, but it’s not. He tossed and turned and kept on thinking about what Blue River had said to him that evening.
Doc woke up the next morning with a note next to him. He picked it up and it said:
Dear Doc,
I left this morning for my ‘vacation’, decide who it will be,
That new mare, Derpy or Ditzy-doo,
Or me,
Your first love.
From,
Blue River
That was heart-breaking, Doc wanted both of them, before Doc could think some more, he heard a knock on the front door, walked down stairs and opened the door, there stood Ditzy-doo.
“Hi there Doc! You look tired! I heard your wife left for a weather patrol mission! I might join them, instead of this mail mare job. But I like my mailing job anyway!” Derpy enthusiastically said.
“You have no idea, come on in, I’ll show you around!” Doc said, “So how was your first week here in Ponyville been, how’s Carrot-Top, how long have you guys been friends?”
“Whoa, slow down with the questions! Well, I met lots of new ponies, though I think Rainbow Dash isn’t that fond of me...” Derpy said sadly
“Don’t worry about her! She’s off in her own world!” Doc said.
“Yeah, I don’t need her, lucky I have you!” Derpy said, she walked up to Doc and stood close to him. He felt a rush of butterflies through his tummy and his cheeks went red under his coat.
“So anyway, Carrot-Tops fine, only she got a bit annoyed when I ate all her muffins in her pantry, and made a new batch and ate all of those too, me and Carrot have been friends since we were both in kindergarten, we would make all kinds of things together, muffins, carrot muffins, we would garden some carrots... all that sort of stuff...” Derpy drifted off into a flash back.
PLONK! The shovel hit the ground as Derpy and Carrot-Top finished planting carrot seeds in the ground.
“Now we can make carrot muffins!” Derpy exclaimed.
“Good idea, but we have to do it tomorrow” Carrot said
“Why not now, Carrot? Derpy asked, tilting her head to the side.
“Because the carrots have to grow silly!” Carrot said as she jumped into the air to catch Derpy and bring her down to the ground.
“I love you Derpy!” Carrot said and gave her filly friend a hug. Derpy felt her orange fur rub against hers.
“Me too Carrot.” Derpy said.
“Hey, grey peagus, hey! Hello?” Carrot said.
“Hello? Any one home?” A small purple unicorn stood in front of her waving her hoof in her face.
“Oh sorry, I was just thinking of something.” Derpy though back of what she was day dreaming about,
‘Damnit Derpy, why do you always forget!’
“Oh Ditzy, this is my daughter Sparkler.” Doctor said, then whispered in her ear, “She’s adopted, but she doesn’t know that yet.”
“Dad! No fair! Don’t whisper things that I don’t know to other ponies, you promised!” Sparkler said.
“I guess I did, I’ll tell you now.” And Doc whispered something into Sparkler’s ear.
“Now, you don’t get it unless you go and eat breakfast and go to Dinky’s house to play, ok?”
“OK DAD!” Sparkler Shouted and ran off to get ready.
“Did you just say Dinky?” Derpy asked.
“Yes, That’s Sparkler’s best friend.” Doc said
“You have to take me to this Dinky! I beg you!” Derpy pleaded.
“Ok, but why?” Doc asked.
“I’ll tell you when we get there...” Derpy said, with a happy smile to her face.

Chapter 2
After a long way of some walking, flying and crashing. Maybe even some stopping to apologising to ponies about some damage to their houses they finally reached Dinky’s house.
“This is Dinky’s house!” Sparkler jumped with excitement. ‘Dinky’s’ house looked fairly familiar to Derpy. Where had she seen it before, before she could think for another second, Doc said:
“Isn’t this Carrot-Top’s house?”
“So that’s why I recognised it!” Derpy exclaimed.
“Oh hi guys!” A orange pony walked out of the house, followed by a small grey unicorn filly, “What can I do for you?” She asked, trying to hide the filly behind her.
“Hey Dinky! Why are you hiding behind you mom?” Sparkler asked.
“That’s not her mom!” Derpy said, “I’m her mom” She said softly.
“Ok, it’s confession session.” Carrot-Top said “I took Dinky because I knew how much she meant to you! I didn’t want to see you in shatters when you wanted her back and could never find her.”
“What are you talking about mom?” The little filly asked.
“Oh Dinky, you run of and play with Sparkler, let mommy and her friends do some talking, ok?” Carrot-Top asked.
“Sure mom!”Dinky said and ran off with Sparkler.
“Why didn’t you tell me you had her all along, where did you hide her?” Derpy asked holding her hoof pack, in a ‘if you lie, you’re gonna get a fist full of me’ position.
“Derpy! I’m sure she has a perfect reason to have taken the filly!” Doc said, pulling her hoof away.
“The filly? The filly? That’s my perfect little daughter!” Derpy yelled.
“Wait, daughter? So I’m not the only one?” Doc threw his hoof over his mouth. ‘Did I just really say that?’ He thought.
“What did you say?” Carrot and Derpy asked.
“Ok, I confess, since this is ‘Confession Session’,” He took a deep breath and whispered really quickly, “I have a crush on you Derpy.”
“Is that true?” Derpy asked.
“Yes, it’s true” Doc said, “But you already have another I see.” Doc ran off silently crying to himself, ‘I always have the worst!’ Doc thought to himself.
“No! Doc!”Derpy yelled.
“There’s no point Derpy, you ruined him,” Carrot-Top said, “No chance now.”
“Yes, yes there is.” Derpy said, “Remember, that time in year 1, when I was teased by everyone, even a bit by you, because you thought you would be teased too, because you stood up for me?” Derpy asked.
“Yeah... kind of,” Carrot-Top said.
“Remember, you stood up for me, every day, because I said they wouldn’t, they teased you and me then.” Derpy continued, “We had no hope left, no hope at all, but then after 3 weeks, the teacher finally caught them? It was a dream come true! Everyone excepted us for who we were, what I was, they only teased you because you were friends with me, but, even at darkest times, there is always still a glimmer of hope.” A tear dripped down Derpy’s eye, always she had trouble remembering things, except for when she needed it most. Carrot-Top stared at Derpy , the only thing she could say was,
“When did you get so smart?” And hugged Derpy, only the moment was ruined when Sparkler asked,
“Where has my daddy gone?”
“About that, all of you follow me!” Derpy exclaimed, and ran off.
After a long run, more crashing and apologising, they finally reached Doc’s house. They knocked as loudly as they could on the door, no reply. They tried again, no reply.
“I know how to get in, miss!” Sparkler said. She walked up to the door and a spark came from her horn, a bright glow, brighter than the sun came from her horn. Then the door swung open. The light’s were on, the stove was on, and a sea purplish-blue was standing in the kitchen.
“AAHH!! INTRUDERS!” She shouted.
“No! Mummy! It’s just me and my friends!” Sparkler shouted.
“What’s going on down here?” A familiar face walked down the stairs. “Who are you all?” He asked
“Doc? It’s me, Derpy, don’t you remember?” Derpy asked.
“Derpy, Derpy, Derpy,” Doc pondered on the name, “Sorry, I don’t know any pony named Derpy, maybe Derby, but not Derpy” He said.
“Oh for Pete’s sake, Blue, what did you do to him?” Carrot-Top asked, patting Derpy on the back, tears streaming down Derpy’s face.
“What, him, I used a brain wash on him, about his daughter and that stupid mare.” Blue River said.
“I’m *sniff* not *sniff* a STUPID MARE!” Derpy screamed, “He LOVED ME! MORE THAN YOU! AND I DID TOO, I LOVED HIM! THEN YOU COME BACK AND MAKE HIM FORGET ALL ABOUT ME? WHAT KIND OF STUPID RETARDED MARE ARE YOU?”
“DERPY! DERPY! CALM DOWN! DON’T WORRY, IT’LL ALL BE FINE!” A colt grabbed her hooves and dragged her away from the blue pony.
“But, but...” She gave up, No hope, just like Carrot-Top said.
“Derpy, of course I remember you, I love you too, I just wanted to know if you did too, she’s not actually Blue River,” Doc said between his gritted teeth, “She’s just Tia!” The blue unicorn took off her mask and behind it was a kind pale white face, she had a lovely pink mane and looked very young.
“Hi, my name’s Tai, I’m not Celestia, it’s just cause I look like her!” Tia said, her cutie mark was a mask.
“Why did you ask her?” Dinky asked, everyone just realised that Sparkler and Dinky were standing right behind them.
“And what does retarded mean?” Sparkler asked.
“Um, Dinky, I asked her because she is the best actor in all of Equestria, plus she was my best friend in High School!” Doc smiled.
“And Sparkler, let’s just say that was a bad word, your mom wouldn’t want you to have learnt that!” Carrot-Top said.
“Well, well, well, what do we have here?” A voice came from behind them.

Chapter 3
“Well, well, well, what do we have here?” A voice asked behind them. Everyone turned around wondering who it was, except for Doctor, who stood as still as a statue.
“I see you have made your choice Doc, so you choose her?” Even though he wasn’t looking, Doc knew she was gesturing at Derpy, “The derp-eyed mail mare. No-pony likes you Derpy, face it! He loves me more.” She said.
“That’s not TRUE!” Doc said and he spun around.
“What did you say?” The unicorn asked.
“Why don’t you face the truth River, you always thought I was the one, that I loved you as much as you loved me, but I think you’re wrong, River, after all this time, I finally realised, you don’t understand me enough. I didn’t love you as I should of, not all parts. Mind, Body and Soul.” Doc said in a stern voice getting nearer to her every word, until he was at a distance where he could only see her eyes. “I loved you for mind and body, not soul, soul is the most important, and that was missing to me, why did it take me so long to realise that?” Doc asked himself. While the fight was going on, nobody noticed that Carrot-Top, Sparkler and Dinky had left.
“I think we should go...” Dinky had whispered to Carrot-Top.
“Yes, I think we should,” she whispered back.
“All this time, I felt you were drifting off, into your own world, without me, leaving me out when you are on huge adventures, for only a matter of seconds for some ponies, while for you, you’re gone for months on end, and now you repay me with this? River shouted, “This is what I get for spending ALL MY HARD EARNED BITS ON YOUR LIFE? FOR WORKING MY FLANK OFF FOR THIS!” She made herself even louder, “WELL YOU GOT WHAT YOU WANTED, ONE DERP EYED GIRLFRIEND COMING UP” She yelled
“SHUT UP! JUST SHUT UP ABOUT ME! WHY ARE YOU INSULTING ME LIKE THIS WHAT DID I EVER DO TO YOU?” Derpy shouted, tears rolling down her face. There is always hope, always. She thought to herself.
“HHmm, let’s think, you stole my husband, wasted my money and I AM NOW PRETTY MUCH HOMELESS!!!” Blue River Shouted.
“I like it! You guys are really good actors, you should get into the spotlight more often, you guys sound really realistic, like you are actually having a fight!” A random voice came from the kitchen. Tia walked out.
“Are you crazy Tia?” Derpy asked.
“No, seriously, we aren’t acting.” Doc said, everyone calmed down.
“Oh, look who’s back, Doc’s old girlfriend!” River said. “Why don’t you two get together? Instead of the derp eyed one. Tia’s so much prettier!” She continued in a girly accent.
“Would you shut up with the comments, PLEASE! DON’T YOU HAVE ANYTHING ELSE TOO SAY?? I’M SICK OF IT! YOU ALWAYS HAVE LOTS OF NEGATIVE THINGS TO SAY, INSTEAD OF ‘HOW WAS YOUR DAY’ IT WOULD BE ‘WHAT BORING THINGS DID YOU DO TODAY’? WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU? YOU USED TO BE NICE!” Doc shouted. His shoulders suddenly felt so much lighter, just getting that off his back. He carried it around with him every single day. Now that it was gone, he felt so much better. Even though he and River had lots of fights, he felt like this was the one to say that in.
“I NOW HAVE SOME ONE WHO ISN’T OBSESDED WITH SPENDING EVERY SECOND OF THEIR DAY WITH ME, SHE AT LEAST RESPECTS MY PERSONAL SPACE, MY LIFE, WHO I AM, I MIGHT NOT HAVE ANY MAGIC OR BE ABLE TO FLY, BUT I AM STILL SOMEONE SPECIAL IN HER LIFE. ISN’T THAT WHAT EVERY PONY WANT’S?” Doc never felt better, he felt like he was on top, no one could knock him down, no one.
“Is that all true?” Derpy asked.
“Yes, yes, it’s all true.” Doc said, suddenly he felt like he tumbled down the hill of glory down to the creek of misery.
“DIDN’T I GIVE YOU THAT? WHAT DOES SHE HAVE THAT I DON’T?” River asked
“I LOVE HER SO BUCKING MUCH!I LOVE HER WITH BODY, MIND,AND-And MOST IMPORTANT” He paused for extra effect “ SOUL”
“SHE IS MORE THAN ME? YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME? I THOUGH YOU WERE: MOST LIKELY TO GET THE PRETTY MARE IN HIGH SCHOOL? NO! You got me, now you got her. One last chance. If you go to her, I’ll leave, now, I’ll pack my bag, you have 5 minutes.” River said, she tried to calm down. But as she ran upstairs, she was crying her heart out. Why? Why me? She thought.
“I love you too Doc... I love you,” Derpy said.
“Hey Tia?” Doc asked.
“Yup?” Tia replied.
“Why did you think we were acting just a few minutes ago?” Doc asked.
“Only my fellow actor’s would realise. You wouldn’t understand.” Tia replied.
Doc spent his thinking time pacing around the room, ‘No you don’t love her’
‘Yes you do, what did you think of her the first time you saw her?’
‘Which one?’
‘Blue River you idiot!’ Voices kept on shouting at each other in his mind. Then River came down stairs.
“So, what’s your choice?”
“I-I-I, I choose Derpy,”
“Really?” Doc turned around, Derpy was crying,
“What’s wrong now, Derpy?” Blue River says in a sarcastic voice.
“Doc,” Derpy looked in his eyes, “You thought I had been with another, didn’t you?”
“Yes,”
“Well, you are my first love, Dinky was adopted, I worked at an adoption centre, but I wasn’t allowed to adopt her, then I became the mail-mare, then she was gone... And-and-and,”
“I get it now, you just look alike, it’s ok.”
“I’m going now, I can’t take anymore mushy-mushy stuff,” And Blue River left the room.
“Well that will be the last of her,” Doc said, hugging Derpy, “Well, let’s get your stuff in here, Dinky can sleep in Sparkler’s room, we can just buy a bunk-bed.”
“Agreed,” And they left the house,
“HEY! WAIT UP FOR ME!” Tia shouted, galloping towards them.

1 year later, Doc and Derpy got married. While at the same time, Blue River found another colt.
2 years later, Tia also met the colt of her dreams.
4 years later, Blue River got married to the colt.
5 years later, Derpy started her own mail company, which rocketed up their yearly salary.
6 years later, they moved into a bigger house.
8 years later, The mane six showed up and defeated Nightmare moon.
20 years later, they flew up to pony-heaven.
