Chapter 1: Surprise Problem

It was a cool peaceful afternoon. Fluttershy was helping Rainbow Dash with her pet tortoise, Tank. Tank was coming down with a bad cold and some aches. Fluttershy put her hoof to Tank's mushy head. "Oh Rainbow Dash, umm... it seems that poor Tanky Wanky has um... a cold. If you could, please keep him in bed and give him lots of uhm... crickets to eat, he um should feel better in no time." Rainbow Dash patted Tank's shell with a nervous grin. "Are you sure Fluttershy? He seems to be really sick. I'm worried about him." Fluttershy pulled up the cloud blanket that Tank was using in his pet bed. "Yes, Rainbow. I'm 100% sure he will be better soon. Just don't forget to let him nap and eat crickets. If it gets worse, call me again and I will be right over. I'm so sorry, but I have to go now...if that's ok with you..." Rainbow planted a kiss on Tank's head. "Yeah. It's cool. Thanks for your help Fluttershy. Say bye Tanky." Tank gave that little wrinkly grin of his and waved a foot to Fluttershy. Fluttershy whispered goodbye and flew out the window. She landed herself back into Ponyville and trotted away to her cabin. When she opened the door, she found Angel frowning at her with her paws crossed. Fluttershy put her head to the side. "What's wrong, Angel?" Angel put her ears down and hopped over to a fresh picnic basket that was sitting on a small wooden table. Fluttershy seemed confused for a second, then her emerald eyes sparked. "Oh Angel! I'm so sorry. I forgot about our picnic today. Can you forgive me?" Angel sighed and grabbed the picnic basket. She leaped onto Fluttershy's back and off they went. After a few minutes, they were in Ponyville park. Trees and flowers of all shapes and sizes were everywhere, filling the park with color and life. Filly's were playing, Stallions and Mares were sitting together enjoying the weather and a kiss or two, birds and squirrels chasing each other around the grass and bushes, it was just a perfect day to enjoy a nice quiet picnic. While Fluttershy set the picnic blanket and umbrella on the ground, 3 young filly's came up with bright smiling faces and dirty fur. "Hiya Fluttershy! Have you perhaps seen a bright, shiny fryin' pan anywher'? Applebloom said. Fluttershy smiled. "I'm sorry girls. I haven't. What are you doing anyway with a frying pan?" Scootaloo flapped her wings "Trying to earn our cutie marks of course! We tried cooking some eggs in a frying pan over a tiny campfire." Sweetiebell popped in "It didn't work out so well. Would you like some burnt eggs?" Fluttershy did a tiny giggle. "Oh no thank you girls. I'm sharing a lovely picnic with Angel. Maybe some other time." The Cuite Mark Crusaders said at the same time all together "Ok! Bye Fluttershy!" Fluttershy waved" Bye Girls! Now, Angel, did you bring the salad?" Angel nodded and took out a bowl of salad made of Dasies, Weeds, Carrots and Cucumber. Fluttershy took a small pile and took a bite. "Mmm. Angel, great job on the salad making." Angel squeaked happily and munched on a full, bright orange carrot. Minutes later, a looming shadow of a pony stood behind Fluttershy. Fluttershy turned slowly. Twilight Sparkle's happy face was staring at her. Fluttershy said "Oh hi Twlight. Um...something wrong?" Twilight nodded and used her powerful unicorn horn to take a map out of her backpack. She said "See the Swamp?" Fluttershy said "Yes. It's green." Twilight raised her voice slightly. "Okay well some pony told me to tell you that they heard some frogs crying for help when she was flying over the swamp. You need to help them!" Fluttershy "Oh I would love too! But, umm...can't some other pony take care of it? I promised Angel i would share a picnic with her for months. Thank you for telling me though." Twilight's face puffed up red. "NO! I mean- No! How could you let your poor little froggy friends sit there in trouble! This isn't like you Fluttershy! Quick! Go help them! I'll sit here with Angel!" Twilight pushed Fluttershy's bottom away from the picnic. She sadly looked at Angel, then flew off towards Ponyville's Dark Swamp. Twilight waited and made sure Fluttershy was gone so she could  look back at Angel. She smiled a sly smile "This is great! This plan is starting off just like it should be! I will finally get to kill that damn Fluttershy once and for all!"
