The sun was beginning to set in a once bustling town, now abandoned and beginning to fall in a state of disrepair. This was not a strange sight, for the land’s small populace was known to move in an almost nomadic fashion, very rarely would a pony make permanent residence on one simple patch of land.

Few knew this better than the only ponies left in the deserted village. Two small foals. A Unicorn filly and Pegasus colt. The filly was tinkering with a platform of some kind, numerous copper wire exposed and the machine itself glowing, if only slightly. The colt on the other hoof stood next to her watching as his companion and friend worked trying to comprehend how it worked. He was already aware what it was. It was a teleporter, to send to a random spot of a land or ‘chunk’ to have adventure. Seeing how the ponies of the village departed (once again) while they were a exploring the nearby land, in this case a forest, they had to make their own means of transportation. Of course just staring at wasn't helping to figure how it worked.

So he decided to ask. “Hey Drill, what does this do?” Trying to start small and pointing to a nearby button.

“Don’t touch that!” She snapped and then immediately began to calm down. “Sorry about that Pick.” Then she began to grin. “Anyway that there ignites the power, so if you press it while I’m connecting this wires. I’ll get a really nasty shock.” She then connected the last of the cables. “Done! Got the bags packed”

Pick now matching Drills grin as he lifted two large and heavily worn backpacks. “Yep! You ready?” Handing one of the bags to Drill as he put his on.

“You know it! Let’s go!” Drill says while strapping on the comically sized bag.

As the children rushed excitedly to the teleporter neither of them noticed the generator powering the device was heavily damaged, occasionally having sparks fly out of it. As a result this caused an explosion that rocked the ruins just as they were being transported.

Earlier at the Ponyville Library

“Umm…Are you sure about this Twilight?” Spike asked worriedly.

“Of course I am! It’s a simple modification to a teleportation spell! I even got permission from Rarity to use some of her gems for the experiment!”  Twilight responded, full of excitement and confidence. She was coming off a bit smug to say the least.

Spike began the drool at the thought of gems, especially at the thought of Rarity giving him-

“Watch where you’re drooling there Casanova.” Twilight teased know fully well what he was thinking.

Spike’s only reply was an embarrassed giggle. He then went upstairs before Twilight started the experiment. Just to be safe.

“Okay Spike, This could be dangerous.” Spike rolled his eyes at the comment. “So you better be in a good place.” Not noticing that the baby dragon had already gone upstairs and hiding behind cover. Twilight then takes a deep breath and begins to chant. “ This causes Spike to raise eyebrow. He had known and been taken care of Twilight most if not all of his young life, helping with countless magical experiments; from Alchemy to Transfiguration, Spike’s seen it all. But not once, not once had Twilight used a incantation.  As the spell starts to work a little spark shows up somehow causing what Twilight would later call a ‘miniscule’ explosion and knocking her out.

(Multiple moments of unconsciousness later.)

Twilight groggily stood up, feeling a headache coming along. ‘Oh my head…What happened?’ Twilight’s first thoughts before looking around to assess the damage, but froze when she caught sight of a unicorn filly and a Pegasus colt lying on the floor. Before she could do anything though, the filly got began to take note of her surroundings.

“Pick…are you here?” The filly questioned still shaken the blast. The filly didn’t seem to Twilight as she quickly found her…friend? Brother? Next to her, not moving. “Pick! Come on!” she exclaims as she shakes the colt slightly as tears being to form around her eyes.

“Come on…you can’t be gone…you...y-you just can’t.” she whispers as the tears begin to freely fall.

Twilight just stood there petrified, as she watched these events take place. Horrified that she might not only have foalnapped two foals, but killed one by accident.

The filly just continued to sit there “Come on Pick…th-this isn’t funny anymore.” She whispered, now face to face with the motionless colt.

It that moment he licked her nose.

Pick then proceeds to cackle as he grasps for breath. “You-You should have your face, Drill! Priceless!”

“YOU-YOU JERK! I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!” Drill snapped readying a punch.

That’s when Pick stopped laughing. “Half a Heart! Half a Heart!” He exclaimed.

“I can wait.” Was Drill’s reply.

‘Wait; was it that the colt was worried about?’ Twilight wondered. ‘Did he have a heart problem? Or was it some sort of inside joke?’

It was during this stark silence that enveloped the library that Twilight finally took in more details of the wayward adolescents.

The colt was a vibrant orange Pegasus with a blue purple mane. The mane itself was fairly short, though what it lacked in length it made up tenfold it scruff. His bright blue eyes eyes currently holding a look of mirth and just a little bit of worry.The filly on the other hoof was was a Unicorn with a deep purple coat. While the colt’s mane was short

*POW* “Ow that hurt” he said rubbing the back of his head

“Serves you right jerk” she said before hugging him “don’t ever do that again”

Pick hugged back before realising something “where are our bags?” he asked.

“OH NO!” she said before the two of them looked around desperately looking for their gear. Twilight quickly noticed two bags on top of a shelf.

“Hey “twilight said getting their attention “is this you’re looking for?” she asked trying to help them.

The two kids looked at her before saying “OUR BAGS” and ran towards her. “Can we have our stuff back please” they asked while giving her puppy dog eyes.

Twilight was trying to resist the puppy eyes but they were her weakness “here you go” she said in defeat.

“YAY” they bought said before tackling her.

“Whoa” she said before Spike came down wondering what happened.

“Twilight? What happened and who are those two?” spike asked as the two kids stared at him “what do I have something on my face?” he asked

The two looked at each other before screaming “MONSTER GET IT! “And started running towards Spike but was stopped by twilight’s magic.

“No you two are not attacking my assistant” twilight said holding the two up with her magic before she dropped them. “Now you two are going to tell me just who you are” she asked.

“I’m Pick” the pegasus colt said.

“I’m Drill” the unicorn filly said.

“And were ADVENTURES” they bought said.

“Is there any way I can contact your parents?” Twilight asks as the two kids looked down sadly “oh I’m sorry who’s been looking after the two of you?” She asks not wanting to abandon them.

“We have been looking after each other for three years” The bought said.

“And how old are the two of you?” twilight asked knowing she might not like the answer

“We're 8 years old” the two of them said

Twilight could not believe it who would just abandon two 5 year old fillies to live on the street for that long. Then all of a sudden the door opened “Twilight darling I saw the explosion what happened?” Rarity asked before noticing the two fillies with bags.” Twilight who are these two fillies? I don’t think I’ve seen them in Ms. Cheerilee’s class before.” The two fillies noticed the sun was out and ran straight for the exited not noticing Rarity. “How rude Twilight who were those fillies I will need to have a word with their parents.” Rarity said in an annoyed tone.

Twilight who was thinking of what the 2 fillies went through during the 3 years she didn’t hear Rarity’s question at first but then heard it “There orphans Rarity. “She looked around “Wait where did they go?”

Rarity looked at Twilight confused “They left a couple seconds ago.”

Twilight, then jumped at that “What did you see where they go?”

Rarity shook her head before Twilight pulled her out to chase the two fillies “Darling why do we need to go after them?” Rarity asked running through the town.

“We need to find them because I don’t know where they came from and they don’t know where they are.” Twilight explains.

Rarity just gave her a confused look “I accidentally brought them here when my teleportation spell test sort of failed.”

“Sort of?” Rarity asks.

“It kind worked just not at the distance I was hoping for.” Twilight explained. As they stumble onto Rainbow dash and Applejack arguing

“I can to make an apple tornado” Rainbow argued

“Ah don’t care if yah can or can’t not on mah family’s orchard.” Applejack said bluntly

“Oh.” Rainbow said before noticing Twilight and Rarity “Hey guys. You look out of breath talking a jog?”

Twilight out of breath tries to say “Have *gasp* you *gasp* two *gasp* seen *gasp* a *gasp* pegasus *gasp* colt *gasp* and *gasp* a *gasp* unicorn *gasp* filly*gasp* come*gasp* this *gasp* way?”

Rainbow confused why she asked said “Yeah they went that way.” She pointed to her left “Why are you looking for them?”

Twilight jumped at the realisation of where the two fillies went “RAINBOW THE ONLY THING THAT WAY IS THE EVERFREE FOREST!”
