Back before Nightmare Moon, after discord was overthrown not two, but three alicorns ruled over Equestria, Celestia, Luna, and Star Fire.

Eventually Star Fire and Luna became lovers. But overtime Luna grew jealous of her older sister's popularity with the populace. No matter how Celestia and Star consoled her she would always be grumbling about how 'unappreciated' she was. Finally she snapped and The Nightmare was born.

After chasing Nightmare over equestria, always arriving at the aftermath, Star found himself confronted by the mare that he used to call 'lover'. In the end he is forced to make a decsion that will leave Celestia lonely in her kingdom, yet it is the only one that could save his one true love. Luna was eventually cured of Nightmare, but whatever happened to her lover?

I have two stories and the other takes priority over this one so this will be a background story if i happen to either finish early have a break or get bored of the other one.

I prefer not to add tags/characters if i do not have them,

Though Nightmare is referred to in the first chapter i do not put her down as a character because she does not make a significant difference in the plot line.
