Ever since the incident with the buffalo, Braeburn's been regarded as a hero of Appleoosa. As time has passed by, he's also known for being friendly and welcoming towards those that pass through the town as well as a prosperous yet humble farmer. To the residents of Appleoosa, Braeburn is the go-to stallion and the primary force behind the town's own prosperity, willing to give back to his town in full.

When a pair of prospectors find riches buried underneath Appleoosan soil - specifically on Braeburn's farm - they go to the head of land management in Equestria: Prince Blueblood. When Blueblood decides that Braeburn needs to give up his farm and turn things over to the prospectors, Braeburn decides its more than his farm at stake. Now, a war is brewing over the land at Appleoosa between the townsponies that want the town to stay as is and the government trying to take the land for its own wealth. And Braeburn is willing to go as far as it takes to make sure the land stays as is.
