Pinkie and Derpy were allowed to take DP home that morning from the hospital. They had planned to tell him about the doctors’ news when they got home, but little did they know he had already known, and he was, in fact, quite mad. Pinkie being Pinkie didn’t like the quietness of their return home, so of course she broke it.

“Well that was an eventful day huh guys?” She grabbed her two boys in her hooves. DP immediately broke her grip and walked past his parents. He just wanted to go home in his own bed and think. “What’s wrong?” Pinkie asked catching up to him. No one could get away from Pinkie unless she allowed you to get away.

“I-I don’t want to t-talk about it.” he replied coldly. This stopped Pinkie right in her tracks. When he went to sleep last night he was happy not sad.

“It’s ok Derpy Pie you can re-take the test no worries,” she said catching up to him thinking that was the reason for his coldness.

“Oh c-can I mom!” he yelled back. She was too shocked for words, and that’s not an easy thing to do to her. DP stopped and turned around. “I h-heard you two t-talking last night,” his voice raising. Derpy caught up to the two after hearing the yelling.

“What’s all the yelling about guys?” asked Derpy. DP turned his gaze at his dad. Not a good move.

“I d-don’t know dad? W-what could it b-be about!” His dad wasn’t the smartest stallion in Ponyville, but he was able to piece together an angry son and brought to tears mom. DP though continued to yell. “I never w-wanted to take that d-damn test! I only d-did it because you m-made me do it!” Now his dad was out of words. “I h-heard you two t-talking last night. I can’t f-fly ever again. I c-can’t even go back t-to regular f-flight school!” His dad was ashamed and just looked at the ground knowing he deserved this. “N-now what do I d-do?” DP asked with tears falling to the ground. “what can I clopping do?” he said staring at his dad.

"Hey! Don’t use that word!” Pinkie was up and mad. “We are sorry you had to find out this way. We should have told you earlier, but we didn’t and we are extremely sorry.” She just kept it up. “Just because you can’t fly ever again doesn’t make you a different person. You are the same Derpy Pie we love with all our hearts. I don’t even care what that doctor said, you will fly again. You just have to believe!” Crying she ran and hugged Dp. “We are a family and as a family we will get through this, because I know we can,” she said in a soft voice.

“I-I am sorry mom and d-dad. I love y–you,” And with that they all shared a giant hug and went home. *Over dramatic weeping* Pinkie? *whimpering* yes? Are you going to be ok? Mmhmm. Wanna talk about it? NO WAIT I MEA…. THAT WAS SOOOO BEAUTIFULLL!!! OMG OMG OMG I PROMISED MYSELF I WOULDN’T CRY, BUT BUT IM CRYINGGG WAHHHHHHH. What have I done…. I’m ok I’m ok continue please, buuuuut can you wait I need to get some tissues? Yes go on. EEEEEEE thank you be right backaroony …… BACK AND GO GO GO!!!! Ok. Here we go.

They finally arrived at home like they hadn’t seen it in years. Derpy tripped on his way in falling face first causing all three of them to laugh together for the first time since the incident. Then when they stopped laughing they noticed a banner and a pack of ponies in their living room.

“Surprise!” they all yelled holding up a welcome back banner. Pinkie instantly screamed and ran right at the group. It was her best friends in all of Equestria. Twilight, Fluttershy, Applejack, and even Rainbow Dash and Rarity made the trip. They all had fear in their eyes as a pink blur ran right at them. Pinkie somehow grabbed them all in her hooves and hugged them all. Rainbow Dash managed to talk

“Welcome back DP I’m glad you’re ok. Oh also someone is in the back outside waiting for you.” she said giving him a wink. DP instantly ran past the group and straight into the yard where he saw Dashter playing catch with her dad. Speedster turned and saw him.

“Ok kids I’m going to go inside with all the adults,” he smiled. Dashter looked confused as to why her day said kids until she turned and saw DP standing in the outside. She flew right at him almost forgetting about his injury and turned up at the last second averting an accident. DP shrank to the ground when he saw her approaching and closed his eyes.

“Ha you can open ‘em now silly!” she said poking his head.

“I err… saw this cool thing on the ground and needed to… see it closer,” he said trying to make a plausible excuse. He loved talking to her, and it wasn’t because when he talked to her his stutter went away, but because when he was around her he was at his happiest. She just laughed and smiled at his obvious lie and gave him a hug.

“How are you felling today buddy?” she asked smiling. He almost didn’t hear her due to the fact he always went to lala land around her.

“Oh I um… am good, I’m good,” he said trying to hide the sadness in his voice. She saw through it though.

“You’re lying.” she said poking his chest.

“No really I’m good, never felt better.”

“Tell me the truth Derpy!” she said using his full name showing she was serious.

“Well the injury is more serious than I thought.” He started to imagine never being able to fly with her up in the clouds and the thought nearly broke his heart. “I uh,” tears started to fill his eyes. “well I will never be able to fly…”

“Ha what I know you can’t fly for a few days its ok when you get better we can go to school and after race all day. You’re silly overreacting like that,” she said playfully hitting him. “Now stop pretending to cry fool.”

“No Dash, I can’t fly ever again… they put stuff in my wing that makes me not able to flap my left wing well enough to get me off the ground, and it will never heal well enough to work properly. It was the only way to save my wing from being amputated.” He was about to talk again, but she covered his mouth. She was now crying too, but she had a smile. This made DP very confused.

“It’s ok,” she said. “I don’t care that you can’t fly, you’re still a cutie and I’ll come visit you all the time.” With that she hugged him and gave him a kiss on the check. She looked up at the sun “oh no, oh no! Mom, Dad we gotta go I got practice!” she yelled into the house. You could hear Rainbow Dash and Speedster saying their goodbyes before emerging outside. Dashter looked at DP “I’m sorry, I have to go to practice for my tryout for the schools flight team. I’m going to be the youngest member ever I bet, don’t worry I’ll come visit next chance I can. With that she took off with her parents. DP just sat there smiling he had only just meet Dashter but he was already falling for her. He smelled his moms’ famous cupcakes and he forgot he hadn’t eaten at all today, so he ran inside to have a feast, but not before looking back up at the sky and smiling.

As he walked back in he saw Rarity showing off her newest creation that she was making for her fashion show.

“Now darlings I expect each of you to show up. It’s going to be the talk of all Equestria. Why Fluttershy and Twilight you two could even find a sophisticated stallion to take home with you.” She said with a sly smile on her face.

“I don’t know Rarity, I have been ever so busy with the school, and I’m also learning this new spell.” Twilight was interrupted before she could finish.

“Yes, yes twilight we all know about you’re busy life darling, but you mustn’t miss this. What about you Fluttershy? Let me guess, you are very busy as well being mayor?” she asked staring right at Fluttershy. Fluttershy started to sink down

“Well… Just a little… I mean it’s not very important… just a little thing with the buffalo, but it’s not important really.” She replied trying to get Rarities’ glare off her.

“Oh please if you ladies don’t want to come so be it, don’t come I couldn’t care less frankly.”

“Well shoot I’ll be there Rarity I wouldn’t miss a grand ol fashion thingy for my friend.” Applejack interjected.

“And you know I’ll be there, I wouldn’t miss an amazing party, ever!” Pinkie said jumping up and down.

“Oh thank you ladies, and also Derpy can come too if he wishes.” Rarity said joyfully. While this was going on DP found Twilight heading to the kitchen still angry from being interrupted by Rarity.

“Interrupt me will you? No one interrupts me! She’s lucky I don’t turn her into a donkey!” She went on talking to herself. She stopped after noticing DP standing behind her. “Oh hello DP I hope you are feeling better.” She said smiling. “I hope you don’t mind, but when we found out what happened we kind of wanted to throw you a little party.”

“I-I’m doing w-well thank you, and t-thank you for the p-party.” DP replied. “I have a q-question though T-Twilight.” He asked.

“Of course what do you want to know DP?”

“w-well I was wondering i-if you could l-look at my wing?”

“Oh I see well your mom told me about what the doctors said, but I’m sure I could see what I have back at the school. Tell ya what, come by the school tomorrow and I’ll see what I can do.”

“T-Thank you thank you thank y-you!” he said joyfully “Oh um I-I have another question.”

“Yes what is it?” she asked.

“Well y-you’ve noticed I have a s-stutter. Um can y-you fix it?” He asked shyly.

“Of course just come by tomorrow and we’ll talk all about it,” she said smiling before walking back out to the group. He sat there smiling to himself before realizing the tray of cupcakes calling his name.

“DP…DP we want you… to eat us!” they were toying with his emotions. He slowly advanced on the unsuspecting tray on cupcakes knowing their life on this plane of existence was about to be over. He stalked the cupcakes like a lion stalking his prey. HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY!!! Aghh stop! What? What is it? Welllllll neverming mr grumpy pants. I don’t have anything to say to you! Ugh im sorry what is up Pinkie? Ok apology accepted friend! Ok um what’s a lion? Ugh you know the readers understand my metaphors. Just because you don’t doesn’t mean you need to interrupt me. Just google it.Lions: A football team in Detroit… hey whats a Detroit…uh and whats football? Ugh not the football team… a lion is a big cat that stalks its prey before eating it, ok? Oki Doki Loki bye! One of these days….

As he was about to make his attack a pink blur went flying past and grabbed the tray before flying past him again into the living room.

“W-What just h-happned” DP asked himself then he heard what he feared the most.

“Oki Doki Loki who wants a Pinkie Pie cupcake?” she squealed out.

As he heard the ponies devouring his meal he sat their stunned at what exactly just happened. His hoof still hung in the air inches away from where the cupcakes use to be. His mouth still opened. Before he could move though the blur flew back in and a cupcake landed on his outstretched hoof. He didn’t question it, he just ate his cupcake, but then the blur was back and before he knew it Pinkie was in front of him.

“Silly I couldn’t let you eat all those, but I did save you one,” she said patting his head before becoming a blur again and leaving the room.

After an hour the rest of the ponies left the party. They all made sure to say goodbye to DP and give him words of encouragement. Twilight was the last one to leave but before she teleported out of the house she stopped and turned to DP

“Now remember to come see me. We have important things to discuss.”

“Well what is that about hmm DP? Important things? Hmmmm?” Pinkie asked interrogating her son.

“It’s n-nothing just going t-to visit Twilight at her s-school. See if s-she can help m-my wing,” he replied smiling.

“hmmmm.” Pinkie stared at him intensely sizing him up. “That’s fine DP, have fun.” She said giggling and hopping away. “Oh by the way Derpy Pie you have school tomorrow,” she said giggling before disappearing to who knows where. He had forgotten all about that somehow.

“Don’t worry DP, it will be fun trust me,” Derpy Sr. said coming from outside. “Sorry I disappeared, but I couldn’t take the fashion talk anymore.” He said smiling. “Now get to bed you must be tired.”

“Ugh o-okay.” DP said frowning and began walking to his room, but before he could make it to the stairs he was all of the suddenly wrapped up in a hug from his parents.

“WE LOVE YOU DERPY PIE HOOVES!” they yelled out simultaneously.

“L-Love you too guys,” and with that he went upstairs to his room and laid in bed. He was thinking about Dashter, and her friendliness, and beauty before drifting off to slumber land.
