Contrary to what everypony thinks, Nightmare Moon is not dead, and her new plan involves using Twilight Sparkle's mind to gather enough power to return to Equestria and encase it in eternal night, this time forever. However, it's easier said than done, and the Mare in the Moon is going to learn it the hard way, with rather unexpected company joining her on her journey through the depths of the mysterious Dreamworld.
